I slept in and just woke up, so here's what I've been able to figure out while sipping coffee:
Twitter has officially rebranded to X just a day or two after the move was announced.
The official branding is that a tweet is now called "an X", for which there are too many jokes to make.
The official account is still @twitter because someone else owns @X and they didn't reclaim the username first.
The logo is 𝕏 which is the Unicode character Unicode U+1D54F so the logo cannot be copyrighted and it is highly likely that it cannot be protected as a trademark.
Outside the visual logo, the trademark for the use of the name "X" in social media is held by Meta/Facebook, while the trademark for "X" in finance/commerce is owned by Microsoft.
The rebranding has been stopped in Japan as the term "X Japan" is trademarked by the band X JAPAN.
Elon had workers taking down the "Twitter" name from the side of the building. He did not have any permits to do this. The building owner called the cops who stopped the crew midway through so the sign just says "er".
He still plans to call his streaming and media hosting branch of the company as "Xvideo". Nobody tell him.
This man wants you to give him control over all of your financial information.
Edit to add further developments:
Yes, this is all real. Check the notes and people have pictures. I understand the skepticism because it feels like a joke, but to the best of my knowledge, everything in the above is accurate.
Microsoft also owns the trademark on X for chatting and gaming because, y'know, X-box.
The logo came from a random podcaster who tweeted it at Musk.
The act of sending a tweet is now known as "Xeet". They even added a guide for how to Xeet.
The branding change is inconsistent. Some icons have changed, some have not, and the words "tweet" and "Twitter" are still all over the place on the site.
TweetDeck is currently unaffected and I hope it's because they forgot that it exists again. The complete negligence toward that tool and just leaving it the hell alone is the only thing that makes the site usable (and some of us are stuck on there for work).
This is likely because Musk was forced out of PayPal due to a failed credit line project and because he wanted to rename the site to "X-Paypal" and eventually just to "X".
This became a big deal behind the scenes as Musk paid over $1 million for the domain X.com and wanted to rebrand the company that already had the brand awareness people were using it as a verb to "pay online" (as in "I'll paypal you the money")
X.com is not currently owned by Musk. It is held by a domain registrar (I believe GoDaddy but I'm not entirely sure). Meaning as long as he's hung onto this idea of making X Corp a thing, he couldn't be arsed to pay the $15/year domain renewal.
Bloomberg estimates the rebranding wiped between $4 to $20 billion from the valuation of Twitter due to the loss of brand awareness.
The company was already worth less than half of the $44 billion Musk paid for it in the first place, meaning this may end up a worse deal than when Yahoo bought Tumblr.
One estimation (though this is with a grain of salt) said that Twitter is three months from defaulting on its loans taken out to buy the site. Those loans were secured with Tesla stock. Meaning the bank will seize that stock and, since it won't be enough to pay the debt (since it's worth around 50-75% of what it was at the time of the loan), they can start seizing personal assets of Elon Musk including the Twitter company itself and his interest in SpaceX.
Sesame Street's official accounts mocked the rebranding.

Let's delve into what domain rank checker is, why it matters, and how you can leverage it to optimize your online presence and drive organic traffic.
Understanding Domain Rank Checker
A domain rank checker is a tool that evaluates the authority and visibility of a website's domain in search engine results. It assigns a numerical score, often referred to as domain authority (DA) or domain rank, which indicates the website's credibility and relevance in its niche. Domain rank checkers analyze various factors, such as the quality and quantity of inbound links, website age, and overall reputation, to determine the domain's authority.
Tumblr media
Why Domain Rank Checker Matters
SEO Performance: Domain rank is a crucial metric for assessing your website's SEO performance. Websites with higher domain authority are more likely to rank higher in search engine results, driving organic traffic and increasing visibility to potential customers.
Competitive Analysis: Domain rank checker allows you to compare your website's authority with that of your competitors. By understanding where you stand relative to your competitors, you can identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to outperform them in search rankings.

Backlinks are crucial for several reasons, especially in the realm of search engine optimization (SEO) and online visibility.
Tumblr media
Here’s why they’re important:
SEO Ranking: Search engines like Google consider backlinks as votes of confidence. When a reputable website links to your content, it indicates to search engines that your content is credible and valuable. Consequently, your website may rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs), leading to increased visibility and traffic.
Referral Traffic: Backlinks serve as pathways for referral traffic. When users click on a backlink on another website and land on your site, they bring along potential customers or readers who are already interested in your niche or content.
Authority Building: Backlinks from authoritative and relevant websites can enhance your website’s authority within your industry or niche. This can positively impact your brand reputation and trustworthiness, making it more likely for users to engage with your content or products.
Indexing and Crawling: Backlinks help search engine crawlers discover and index new web pages. When a page is linked from multiple sources, search engine bots are more likely to crawl and index it, which can improve the overall visibility of your website in search results.
Relationship Building: Building backlinks often involves reaching out to other website owners or bloggers within your industry. This process fosters relationships and collaborations, which can lead to further opportunities for partnerships, guest posting, and co-marketing efforts.
Diversification of Traffic Sources: Relying solely on one traffic source, such as organic search or social media, can be risky. Backlinks provide an additional avenue for traffic, diversifying your traffic sources and reducing dependency on any single channel.
Competitive Advantage: Acquiring quality backlinks can be challenging, which means that websites with a robust backlink profile have a competitive advantage. By investing in a strategic backlink-building strategy, you can differentiate your website from competitors and establish a stronger online presence.
Overall, backlinks play a crucial role in enhancing your website’s visibility, authority, and credibility on the web. However, it’s essential to focus on quality over quantity, as high-quality backlinks from relevant and authoritative sources yield the best SEO and traffic generation results.

EARNEST POSTING. while everyone is still working on new year’s resolutions i want to make sure everyone knows about the FREE serial reader app.
Tumblr media
if you are trying to read more classics/public domain works but for whatever reason struggle with incorporating reading into your daily life, or you’re just intimidated by huge books, serial reader is a great tool to make reading more approachable. it works much like dracula daily in that it sends you one excerpt at a time (usually about 10-15 minutes of estimated reading time). awesome for commutes, lunch breaks, quick bedtime story, etc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it’s very customizable. you can change fonts, themes, and you can even take notes and highlight. you can also sync with other reading apps like goodreads (no storygraph yet……. we can hope!). the base app is completely free, but there is a one-time optional upgrade fee of $2.99 USD if you want some extra features. this is all developed by one guy, so the money goes to supporting the creator - although i’m sure apple takes their cut 😑.
Tumblr media
there are a ton of works to choose from, currently something like 800+.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you can now also add your own .epubs to break up your own books into daily serials! very cool, serial reader!
Tumblr media
this was the best app i added last year so i just want to pass it on. happy reading! :)

Hello @dawn-sky-collective! I apologize, it wouldn’t let me write a reply to your ask so I took a pic and tagged you instead. Hope that’s ok ^^;
I have not answered this yet, so let’s get into it!
Shadow Milk has things all over the Spire for his darling to do. One thing he is really good at when it comes to a darling is providing them with ways to stimulate themselves. There’s all kinds of tools to engage oneself in creativity, such as art supplies to be used for various mediums; journals and writing materials, canvases and paints, sketchpads, needle and thread, sewing machines, and more. There are dolls and puppets in your room to allow for games and plays. Cards, board games, and other such manners to entertain oneself occupy your room and the spaces you’re allowed. There’s also like- a ton of books, seeing as he was formerly known as the Fount of Knowledge before his corruption. While lies are spread all throughout the non-fiction books, the fiction ones, meant more for enjoyment than education, remain untouched. There’s also the many creatures who lurk around the Spire, some of which take a liking to you, unaware that they should fear their Master’s jealousy.
Mystic Flour’s darling I can see making a hobby of gardening and possibly cooking. Taking care of a lovely array of plants around your Beast’s domain, marveling at their beauty as you cultivate them. Cloud Haetae also loves it when you join them in the kitchens to make buns and other treats. Speaking of Cloud Haetae, they love to play with you, if you allow them.
Burning Spice primarily entertains himself through destruction and fighting, so that’s unfortunately the most his darling can find to do. If you’re lucky, you might find a scroll or two for reading, but that’s about it. Your best bet is to ask the Wild Spices to spar with and help train you (something the Great Destroyer does allow).
Eternal Sugar’s darling likely occupies themself with cooking, cleaning, and, of course, napping. Your Beast loves the food you make and often insists you cook everyday for her and yourself.
Silent Salt’s darling is another incredibly lucky one when it comes to this. Their darling practically wants for naught, as the Beast offers them just about anything they ask for. If they don’t have it, they get it. Books, games, art supplies, musical instruments, you name it. If you want it, it’s provided for you.
When it comes to what darlings are allowed to keep from their previous life, most things are actually allowed. Clothing, hobbies, trinkets, memorabilia. At least… as long as it is on your person. If these things are at home and your Beast is not the jealous type, you might be lucky enough for them to send a minion to fetch the things you wish to have from your home for you. Silent Salt is the best when it comes to this, since, as stated before, their darling wants for naught. The primary thing you are no longer allowed is, of course, your freedom.

Blurred Lines: Agency and Victimhood in Gothic Horror
Seeing as Robert Eggers' Nosferatu has just breached a cool $135M at the worldwide box office, it might be as good a time to talk about this as any. I believe I echo the sentiments of most diehard fans of gothic horror when I say this: while we are glad to see this masterpiece meet with well-deserved success, these numbers also mean that a significant proportion of its audience has been previously unfamiliar with the hallmarks of our beloved genre; and the resulting disconnect between the viewers and the source material has been the driving force behind the great majority of the online discourse that surrounds it.
The tools and conventions of the gothic, as a genre, are essential to Nosferatu's primary narrative arc. Its central character, Ellen Hutter, cannot be discussed outside of her literary context. Textually, she balances between heroine and damsel in distress - blurred, in many ways, from mainstream understanding.
That is done entirely on purpose. There are numerous reasons for it; I could go into heavy detail about it; and I will - under the cut, of course.
The main thing I must make absolutely clear (before delving any deeper) is that the gothic genre is fundamentally non-literal. It deals heavily in metaphor, allegory, allusion, obfuscation - and, indeed, the blurred lines that have recently caused so much controversy online. This is by design. It is not a flaw of storytelling or interpretation. The gothic affronts the rigid, black-and-white, mainstream forms of morality because that is what it has always been designed to do; and the newer installments like Nosferatu do the same, being built upon those traditional foundations.
The historical background is therefore essential to the understanding of a gothic narrative. In this, the film does provide the viewer with a relatively easy starting point; its period setting amplifies its connection to its predecessors, as well as the societal pressures and systemic violence that it aims to challenge. It allows the audience to perceive the story through a historical lens that comes pre-installed, as a sort of short-cut to the genre's original social context.
Tumblr media
The context, in this case, consists of misogyny, queerphobia, xenophobia, and ableism - which, while rampant even in the modern day, were that much more blatant in 1830s German Confederation, where/when the story largely takes place. Every human character, regardless of who they are, is influenced by these oppressive aspects of their society; and Ellen Hutter is hopelessly entrapped within all four.
Her social situation, as we are given to understand, is precarious. Though she was originally born into wealth, she married down to escape her abusive father. She is an eccentric - her "wild" inclinations (such as having a sense of dignity or loving the outdoors as a child) are enough to cause almost vitriolic disapproval; but on top of that, she was born with a psychic gift, which manifests in a way that is not dissimilar from a mental (and sometimes physical) disability. She and her husband are also English immigrants, and thus perpetual outsiders in Wisborg (this is also one of the reasons Thomas is so anxious to prove himself at Knock's firm, and so keen to emulate Harding in all things); and, finally, she implied to experience queer attraction - which, though non-explicit, repressed, and never truly indulged, still affects her and the way she is continuously treated throughout the film.
Overall, Ellen's existence is perceived, at best, as an inconvenience - and at worst, a scandal. With that, she fits seamlessly into her story's genre.
The "immoral," the forbidden, the taboo is a cornerstone of all gothic fiction. It exists in the doubt between light and dark, harm and desire, love and abuse. It is the domain of sympathetic villains (e.g. Heathcliff, Wuthering Heights), of imperfect victims (Bertha Mason, Jane Eyre), of heroes who are deeply flawed, who cause their own tragedies, and often fail to save anyone at all (Victor Frankenstein, Frankenstein). Within the gothic genre, there are no absolutes; and its contradicting balance of dichotomies provides a reference point - or, more accurately, a cultural triangulation - for exploring the same complexities that a binary puritanical mindset strives to eradicate. These include sexual desire, female autonomy, physical and mental disabilities, classism; in short, anything that gets people wincing.
The popular discussion of these topics is frequently cruel, often avoidant, and rarely straightforward or productive. As stated above, it makes people uncomfortable. It's not pleasant. However, for Ellen (and many people in the real world), it is, quite literally, impossible to avoid. It defines every aspect of her daily life.
What this means for her and for the story is that within a narrative that refuses to gloss over the imperfections of her surrounding society, her victimhood is not thrust upon her by a shadowy figure, emerging from the night. Instead, she is a victim - of an ongoing and systemic, rather than individual, abuse.
Tumblr media
This aspect of Ellen's characterization lies at the core of her behaviour throughout the film. She is an unstable chimera of Brontë's Jane Eyre and Bertha Mason - in the sense that her actions are informed, in great part, by her acute awareness of her own disenfranchisement. She alternates between anguished raving and phlegmatic practicality, used to her pain but unable to entirely ignore it; and, the same way that Jane sees all the rage she feels (but cannot afford to express) manifested in Bertha, Ellen finds her counterpart in Orlok.
This is where the ambiguity begins.
Even though Orlok is most certainly a gothic villain, his relationship with Ellen cannot be interpreted as strictly adversarial. Naturally, it would be easy to ascribe their dynamic to grooming and PTSD; however, as previously mentioned, a gothic narrative is never surface-level - and the film itself never furnishes any information that would definitively limit it to that.
Firstly, to get the primary discourse point out of the way - yes, when Ellen and Orlok first meet within the ether, she is indeed young; and later, she is said to have been a child. However, at the time, the term "teenager"did not yet exist; Ellen's younger self is not portrayed by a child actress; and later, in 1838, she is referred to as a child multiple times - despite being an adult, married woman. Overall, within the film, the term is more often used to describe innocence and inexperience, rather than age; and her initial age is never specified. Granted, a multi-century age gap is not exactly "healthy" anyway - but this is a vampire story. It is per the course; and it complicates their relationship beyond a simple victim vs abuser narrative.
Secondly - and perhaps, most importantly - the overall impact of Orlok's coercion tactics falls flat in comparison to Ellen's human-world alternatives. Yes, he argues and threatens; but her social circumstances have never allowed her agency in the first place. Her father abuses, isolates, and threatens to institutionalize her; Thomas dismisses her concerns as "childish fantasies"; Harding and Sievers tie her down and drug her; Harding again kicks her out of the house. Her marriage, her friendships, are therefore all transactional; they grant her an escape from her father's house, relative financial stability, social support - on the condition that she represses her true self, pretends to be normal, doesn't threaten anyone's masculinity or heterosexuality, and acts like she's happy to be a deferring, obedient, settled wife. Being a daughter of a landed gentleman, she would never have been given a working woman's education, and evidently has no income of her own; and so, she has no options except to upkeep her end of the bargain - which means that her continued survival within mainstream society relies on constant background coercion.
Compared to this mundane, socially acceptable horror of her existence, the vampire actually offers her more autonomy than she is ever otherwise accorded. The terms of his covenant never threaten Ellen's own well-being; so on one hand, she has benevolence - and on the other, the dignity of choice.
Tumblr media
This contrast lies at the heart of her dilemma. Ellen is torn between what she believes she should be and what she knows - and Orlok knows - she is.
One is "correct," moral, Good; the other is "wrong," sinful, Evil. However, at the same time, the first is manufactured; it is artificially designed, and must be continuously enforced. The second is primal. Natural. In accordance with gothic tradition, the appeal of Orlok is that he is forbidden, yet instinctive. By design, he is a reflection of everything that Ellen is forced to repress on a daily basis. That includes her rage, her ostracism, her abnormalities; but also, her desperate need to be respected, understood, and desired. He is both grotesque and alluring, both a lord and a beast, both cruel and reverent.
"He is my melancholy!.." cries Ellen.
"I am Heathcliff!" whispers Cathy.
Still, while Cathy and Heathcliff are primarily divided by class and racism, Orlok and Ellen are separated by moral considerations. In the explicit sense, Ellen cannot choose the Evil that Orlok represents. Within the surface narrative, she is obligated by her society, her morals, and the story to choose Good - in this case, by nobly sacrificing her individual expendable life to save her husband and a city full of people. Her primary storyline, like everything else, has already been decided for her.
For the Trekkies among us, this is Ellen's own Kobayashi Maru. A no-win scenario. As such, within the context of character analysis, her destination does not matter as much as the little things she does along the way; and it is no accident that, as the film progresses, the subtler, seemingly insignificant choices she makes within that framework just happen to bring her closer - and closer - to Orlok.
Tumblr media
All of them are just innocuous enough to almost pass. She places a lock of perfumed hair in a locket that she gives to Thomas - and upon his arrival to the Carpathians, the same locket is immediately claimed by Orlok, who recognizes the scent of lilacs. Before making her sacrifice, she puts on her wedding dress and finds a bouquet of the same flowers - which is the sort of effort she didn't have to perform, especially given that he cannot resist her blood regardless. When Orlok arrives, she chooses to undress them both, and leads him to the bed, even though her previous sex scene with Thomas was entirely clothed; and in the morning, she pulls him close and holds him through the sunrise - even though he was already dying, and would not be able to escape. There was no need for her to touch his rotting flesh at that point, much less caress it.
There can be a "moral" explanation for all these actions; but the lack of direct obligation involved in them becomes increasingly blatant over the course of the story, and the doubt festers.
This sort of lingering ambiguity is precisely where gothic horror thrives - and intersects, scandalously, with romance. Gothic horror, much like bodice-ripper novels, noir thrillers, or "dark romance," builds much of its romantic intensity on the dichotomy of shame and desire. Imagine it, if you will, as a loom; warp and weft. It may even be described as literary BDSM - a continuous, mutually-agreed-upon act of roleplay between the author and their audience, and sometimes the characters themselves (though that depends). The point is to create an outlet for female, queer, or disabled sexualities, all of which are still heavily medicalized and restricted, derided, or denied entirely; and within these often intersecting genres, the violent or coercive intensity of the dominant lead (be it a vampire, a mafia don, or simply a more experienced lesbian) provides their repressed, seemingly passive counterpart an excuse to act upon their demonized erotic urges.
Between the page and the mind, everything that normally complicates a romantic or sexual encounter in the real world (subliminal hints, aggression, repressed and involuntary responses) becomes set dressing - serving to place a particular scene or dynamic within its fictional universe. The resulting Watsonian uncertainty is, naturally, part of the appeal. It is what allows the viewer/reader/listener a sincere emotional and sensual immersion; and for Ellen and Orlok, it provides an appropriately dramatic pretext for a night of tender vampire sex.
The discourse around their joining is painfully similar to the same that drifts around online every winter - in regards to the classic holiday hit, Baby it's Cold Outside. The song, written during an era in which extramarital sexuality was heavily restricted, follows a couple brainstorming excuses for the lady to stay the night; this intention was explicitly stated by both members of the original duet; but that hasn't stopped thousands of people from interpreting it as a "rape anthem." It is unsurprising, then, that an element of horror (guilt, shame, repression, coercion) muddles the water even further.
It's oddly apt, considering that the film premiered on Christmas Day.
Granted, I am not denying that there is an abusive aspect to Ellen and Orlok's connection, romantic or otherwise. However, to reduce Ellen to merely his "victim" is extremely inaccurate to her actual portrayal - because, within the framework of the film, her interactions with Orlok are the few in which she is actually able to exercise some form of agency. She never defers to him, their wedding-death hinges on her free will, as coerced as it may appear; and, in a fascinating subversion of a popular vampire trope, she is the one who summons him.
In gothic media, "Come to me!.." is invariably spoken by a vampire (or a vampire derivative like Erik, Leroux's titular Phantom of the Opera); their counterpart follows helplessly, without question; and giving these lines to Ellen is a dramatic deviation from tradition that fundamentally alters the underlying context of their power balance. By maintaining this call-and-response dynamic throughout the story, Eggers asserts that Ellen isn't helpless; and neither is she "in over her head." She is intelligent, powerful, and she has a tangible influence over Orlok, who is her only equal - which is why, ultimately, she is the one deciding where that relationship is headed.
Tumblr media
That is not to say that any alternative readings of the film are entirely incorrect. As I have stated above, the abusive/toxic narrative is definitely present, and even essential, in gothic media. On the Doylist level, it is the equivalent of a whip, or a solid pair of cuffs - essentially, a divestment of responsibility; though, to continue the metaphor, not everyone shares the same kink - and those who do might not all enjoy it the same way, so there's definitely significant variation. What I am trying to say, however, is that each story does come with a central conflict; and Ellen Hutter's victimization - much like Jane Eyre's, like Thomasin's (The Witch, 2015) - is systemic.
She is ostracized, disrespected - infantilized if her oppressors are feeling benevolent, demonized when they are inconvenienced - and still expected to always prioritize her husband/friends/community by default, regardless of how she is treated by them. Her surrounding society, morality, religion, culture all insist upon the same; and this is why, despite knowing that she has done nothing wrong by following her nature, she carries an enormous amount of guilt in regards to those "unacceptable" aspects of herself. It is also the same reason why Orlok - the sensual, cruel, utterly devoted monster - is the answer to her lonely call; and the reason why everyone around her is so eager to see her as his victim, rather than a victim of anything they may have perpetrated themselves. Ellen's is a rich complexity, fed upon centuries' worth of gothic tradition, and she cannot be forced into a flat, genre-inappropriate simplification.
Like The Witch, like NBC Hannibal, like Interview With the Vampire before it - Nosferatu (2024) is a story of self-indulgence being so unfamiliar that it feels like a sin; or, like dying.
Tumblr media
I, for one, would not deny her that.

I'm sorry, but this should come as a shock to absolutely no one.
Tumblr media
Just a little bit of 'insider info' (and by 'insider' I mean I was a part of the beta testing crew a few years ago) Webtoons has been messing with AI tools for years. You can literally play test that very same AI tool that I beta-tested here:
Mind you, this is just an AI Painter, similar to the Clip Studio Colorize tool, but it goes to show where WT's priorities are headed. I should mention, btw, that this tool is incredibly useless for anyone not creating a Korean-style webtoon, like you can deadass tell it was trained exclusively on the imports because it can't handle any skin tone outside of white (trying to use darker colors just translates as "shadows" to the program, meaning it'll just cast some fugly ass shadows over a white-toned character no matter how hard you try) and you just know the AI wouldn't know what to do with itself if you gave it an art style that didn't exactly match with the provided samples lmao
And let's be real, can we really expect the company that regularly exploits, underpays, and overworks its creators to give a damn about the ethical concerns of AI? They're gonna take the path of least resistance to make the most money possible.
So the fact that we're now seeing AI comics popping up on Webtoons left and right - and now, an actual "Webtoon AI" branding label - should come as zero shock to anyone. Webtoons is about quantity over quality and so AI is the natural progression of that.
So yeah, if you were looking for any sign to check out other platforms outside of Webtoons, this is it. Here are some of my own recommendations:
ComicFury - Independently run, zero ads, zero subscription costs (though I def recommend supporting them on Patreon if you're able), full control over site appearance, optional hosting for only the cost of the domain name, and best of all, strictly anti-AI. Not allowed, not even with proper labelling or disclosure. Full offense to the tech bro hacks, eat shit.
GlobalComix - Very polished hosting site that offers loads of monetization tools for creators without any exclusive contracts or subscriptions needed. They do offer a subscription program, but that's purely for reading the comics on the site that are exclusively behind paywalls. Not strictly anti-AI but does require in their ToS that AI comics be properly labelled and disclosed, whether they're made partially or fully with AI, to ensure transparency for readers who want to avoid AI comics.
Neocities - If you want to create your own site the good ole' fashioned way (i.e. HTML / CSS) this is the place. Independently run, offers a subscription plan for people who want more storage and bandwidth but it only costs $5/month so it's very inexpensive, and even without that subscription cost you won't have to deal with ads or corporate management bullshit.
Be safe out there pals, don't be afraid to set out into the unknown if it means protecting your work and keeping your control as a creator. Know your rights, know your power.

Humans are weird: The Blind Demon
( Please come see me on my new patreon and support me for early access to stories and personal story requests :D https://www.patreon.com/NiqhtLord Every bit helps)
( A continuation of Humans are weird: An army of heroes )
“Where is our empress?”
It was the one question the human delegation would not relent on. Despite the Sygonic diplomat’s best attempts to steer the conversation towards more fruitful topics, such as a cease fire between their two powers or even a complete cessation of hostilities, the human’s would not open discussion until they could verify the state of their captive empress. A notion lead delegate Harken was doing everything in his power to avoid.
Before the war between the Sygonic and Terran Empire had broken out their empress, Imelia Asghar, had surrendered herself to the Sygonic people. Officially she stated her reasoning was that she would not risk the lives of her people in war without risking her own, but in reality Harken and many of his colleagues suspected it was more of a propaganda tool for the human masses.
Things had been going well with her as their captive. The Sygonic Senate had afforded her every luxury, going so far as to treat her as a noble guest rather than the ruler of their sworn enemies. They couldn’t decide on if to use her as a bargaining chip down the road with the Terran government or political pawn, but they wagered for the interim keeping her happy would keep all parties content for now.
Then Lord Commander Abarax Caston had demanded a meeting and things went straight to hell.
During their discussion the empress goaded and prodded at the lord commander’s ego and intellect, or lack of, until Caston took hold of a glass bottle and threw it at the empress. The bottle smashed against her face with such force that one eye ruptured into a gory mess and her face was scared with a dozen glass shards slicing her skin.
Medical professionals from across the Sygonic domain had been transported to tend to her but even with the physical injuries healed and a freshly cloned eye the damage was already beyond fixing. All the empress needed to do was to open her mouth and tell her people that she had been brutalized by none other than the Lord Commander himself and the peace talks would fall apart like quicksand beneath their feet.
“As I’ve said before,” the Sygonic diplomat repeated yet again, “Empress Asghar is currently unable to attend this meeting and we should proceed without her.”
The human diplomats shared several expressions ranging from disbelief to sheer outrage.
“How can we negotiate in good faith when you will not present our head of state to us?” the lead human diplomat, “Conner” the Sygonic diplomat thought their name was, spoke. “How can we be sure she is even alive?”
With the concern finally spoken aloud it spread like a virus through the entire human delegation. If he did not act soon they would most likely leave and the peace talks would-
With a loud groan the door to the room slowly opened cutting off the growing murmurs of discontent and drawing the eyes of everyone in the chamber.
“Please do sit down, gentlemen.” The voice was soft yet authoritative as the speaker slowly entered the room. “I was hardly worth this much commotion even before I became a prisoner.”
To the relief of all, Empress Imelia Asghar strode into the room. She wore a flowing gown of the richest emerald and a simple crimson Fascinator Hat that made her the center of attention immediately with hardly any effort. The calming effect she had over her delegation was not lost on the Sygonic delegates, but it was only momentary as the humans noticed something off-putting.
Asghar’s face was hidden behind a mask of pure marble white carved to her exact likeness. In place of her eyes were two pitch black lens’s that hid her eyes. It was like looking into the eyes of a doll and it quickly dampened the human’s enthusiasm to see their empress.
Why is she wearing a mask? The Sygonic diplomat thought to themselves. The surgeries should have repaired any physical damage.
“Empress Asghar….is that you?” one of the human’s asked uncertainly.
The empress took a seat on the Sygonic side to symbolize her continued imprisonment and turned her gaze across the table to the human delegate.
“Have you so quickly forgotten me Bradlin? And here I thought you were my favorite diplomat.”
Her coy response left Bradlin flatfooted and bumbling as he was unsure of what to say next. The other diplomats were not so easily dissuaded though.
“He does make a good point, we need to first confirm your identity.”
With a nod Bradlin pulled out a small scanning device and swept it over the empress. It beeped several times before flashing bright green.
“Scans say it is our Empress.” Bradlin said, though he still looked unconvinced.
“Would you kindly remove your mask for facial recognition?”
It was here the empress appeared to hesitate. Nothing verbally said but her body language tensed for the briefest of moments.
“The scans should have been enough.” Asghar replied with a hint of annoyance.
“Scanners can be fooled,” the diplomat countered, “and as you said we are your favorite diplomats; who better would recognize you?”
Tilting her head to look at the Sygonic delegates, Asghar slowly reached up and removed the stone mask. A collective gasp of horror came from the humans as they laid eyes on their empress once more.
Her face was a patchwork of cuts and gashes; some still fresh and leaking thin trails of blood. A collection of purple and greens dotted her face from deep swelling bruises. Her lips were split in several places but worst of all was the hollowed eye sockets that gazed out at the gathered dignitaries.
“What in the seven hells have they done to you!?”
Bradlin directed the question at his empress but his gaze was squarely directed at the Sygonic delegates. “Is this what you do to your prisoners!?!”
The Sygonic’s had no response and stammered fruitlessly. None of this made sense. The empress was perfectly fine after her surgeries; they had even seen her in person and she had shown nothing but perfect health.
“It is nothing I cannot endure for my people.” Empress Asghar replied as she picked up the mask and returned it to her face.
“There has been a grave misunderstanding.” The Sygonic’s began but the humans would hear none of it.
“You sick monsters will pay for this! Guards, get in here!!”
From outside the room a platoon of human guards followed shortly by their opposite numbers of the Sygonic guards. The pair drew weapons and pointed at each other while shouting orders back and forth. Several delegates ducked under the table or hid behind chairs as the tension continued to mount.
“ENOUGH!”
The gathered rabble was silenced by the dominating voice of the empress as she stood up from her chair.
“This is a place of diplomacy! Put away your weapons and stop acting like children!”
“But Empress-“ Bradlin countered.
“But nothing!” Asghar silenced him. “We are Terran’s, and we do not forsake the code of diplomacy for anything.”
No one dared move for fear of starting a war as the empress’s words slowly calmed the heads of her delegates, the fate of the war hung by the thinnest of threads. ----------------------------------------------
The meeting broke up not long after that. The humans visible deterred about the treatment of their empress and were already spreading news of her treatment back to the entire Terran Empire. The Sygonic delegation was all but assured that the war would not cease any time soon as a result of her viewing.
As the empress walked by the lead delegate grabbed her by the wrist.
“What did you do?!” they demanded. “You were healed, your injuries things of memory!”
The cold mask of the empress turned to face the delegate.
“They were.” She admitted. “So I inflicted these wounds on myself.”
The delegate let go of her and took a step back in horror.
“How do you think my people will react when they hear you have not only tortured their beloved empress, but have brutalized her in unimaginable ways and yet still remains unbroken?”
She took the stone mask off and revealed a bloody smile; the very act of smiling opening wounds and causing small streams of blood to run between her teeth.
“Did you think I would sweep my treatment under the carpet and act as if nothing happened? Did you think your surgeries and cloned eye would earn you my sympathy?”
The delegate looked into the hollow eyes of the empress as she shook her head. “Your Lord Commander signed your death warrants the moment he struck me, and I have just provided the final nail in your coffin.”

Could u write about someone/a villager getting caught by the sisters and tied up in chains in the basement? Similar to what happened to Ethan but in the basement instead. Then Cassandra comes down alone to have some fun with the prisoner...💉😏
Tumblr media
Absolutely ;P made this a fem! reader for this purpose
Let’s get into it🙌
Masterlists
You groan groggily as you attempt to open your eyes, your head swimming and throbbing in pain. You don’t remember much, can only whine softly beneath your breath as pain and darkness greets you. Your entire body feels heavy and drained, as if even the act of opening your eyes is no small task now. Your wrists burn, a tight ache and painful sensation you can’t yet pinpoint the source of until you finally muster the energy and courage to open your eyes.
And as you do, panic immediately rushes through you when you realise you’re bound in the dark, surrounded by empty, but bloodied cells and tools, the area barely lit by a few lit torches along the walls. Almost, you hope this is nothing but a nightmare, but the throbbing pain you’re in easily reminds you that it isn’t. You’re tied up, the pain at your wrists stemming from thick rope and chains wrapped around them and forcing you to stay still. Your bare toes manage to reach the cold stone floor, but only barely so. You attempt to choke back the damp, suffocating, thick air in the cellars, but your lungs fill with it no matter how hard you try not to breathe it in, and it only makes you feel dizzier than before.
A scent lingers in it; the coppery, heavy scent of blood, of death, of oppression and cruelty. Around you, you spot what you can only assume are tools of torture, blades and saws, tongs and chains all covered in old and fresh blood alike. You don’t dare try to imagine what has been done with them, but whimper at the idea that you might be next.
You swallow, your tongue darting out to lick across dry lips. Briefly, you part them, but when realisation hits you, you decide it’s best to be quiet.
After all, you know where you are.
You know whose domain this is.
You know what that means.
And you know who you are trapped with.
Your heart pounds fast, so fast you feel your pulse jump at your throat and feel your body heat up. You almost think you will lose consciousness, left to dangle by the chains again for an unknown amount of time.
“Careful…”
You flinch violently at the seductive murmur in the dark, your head turning wildly, hoping to find the source of the voice.
In return, a low, amused chuckle echoes through the dark dungeons.
“Or you might…hurt yourself…”, the voice drawls out with fake concern, and you feel yourself shiver- from fear, you claim in your head, but the deep ache between your legs, triggered easily by the low sound of her voice, tells a different story.
You shake your head, whimpering softly.
She's enjoying this.
You hear more chuckles and dark hums slither through the dark basement, your eyes wide and heart racing, terror and worry filling you as you turn your head. You squirm harshly, hoping to free yourself, but it only has her tsk in the dark, the sound low and playful against the one of the chains rattling.
Then, she steps forward at last, and you feel your heart beat just a little faster and your pulse jump. As she moves into the dim light of a nearby torch, her golden eyes gleam with something predatory, hungry. You shiver, almost feeling her overwhelming excitement, amusement, and her hunger for pain.
The woman in front of you is beautiful, and beyond that.
Her brunette hair looks soft, but the blood by it and her chin immediately captures your attention. She laughs, her head thrown back a little, her sharp teeth glistening with blood in the shine of the torch. Her lips are thick, bloodied and painted dark, but utterly soft looking, much like her skin. She looks almost graceful as she stalks towards you, despite the blood sticking to her.
She wears a tight, black dress with a deep V-Cut, and you briefly have to resist the urge to let your eyes fall to her large chest and slim hips.
It’s like your fear and arousal play all in one, your heart beating wildly upon being- for once- this close to a woman this beautiful. The village doesn’t quite allow much for expressing yourself or finding happiness in another person, and you’ve never dared look at a woman too long, afraid what the others will think of and do to you.
Now, you’re right in front of one as beautiful as a blood moon.
You feel tears brimming at your eyes as she hums again as if this reminds you of your situation, catching how her gloved fingers twitch by her side already, as though she can just barely contain herself and hold back. What from? You don’t dare think about it, but are certain it can’t be good.
Cassandra Dimitrescu; you have only heard of her before, believed her to almost be a myth the village has come up with to help manage all the pain all feel.
Someone to blame. Someone to turn into a monster and fault for everything going wrong. Seeing her now, you know- unmistakably- it's her.
Oh, and how real she is, indeed...
She moves slowly, her golden eyes set on you. You squirm when her gloved fingertip taps against one of the sharp blades on the table by your side, as though to tease you. Seeing your reaction, she smirks.
"Don't exhaust yourself yet, morsel", she drawls out, playful, almost a pitiful pout as though she still has plans for you. You whimper quietly.
She moves closer again, and you gasp when she's suddenly in front of you, surrounded by a swarm of flies that easily connects to her skin, her hand harsh by your face, her gloved fingers digging into your flesh as she grabs at your lower face half. Like this you notice how tall she is, easily towering above you, her hand large and fingers strong. You whimper, your face flushing an embarrassing shade of pink when she leans down and her tongue peeks from her thick, black painted lips to lick over them and collect the coppery blood lingering there.
Again, you want to curse yourself for your thoughts when heat pools in your lower stomach.
You almost want to beg for mercy, while another part of yours so desperate wants to feel the soft lips and tongue in your mouth.
"My my....look at what Bela dragged in...", she hums then, and only now do you remember the woman strikingly similar to Cassandra slicing at you, a single hit with her sickle enough for your vision to swim, your body dragged off. Is that how you ended up here? With her?
She laughs again, the voice low and dark and promising something to come. You shiver, not daring to imagine what she has in mind with you.
"I can hear your heart jump for me, little mouse", she whispers by your face. "Are you scared, morsel?", she coos cruelly, her fingers squeezing at your face a little harder when she notices you try to hold back, your breath held, eyes squeezed shut, your terror just barely held back. But no; that won't do at all; she won’t have it. She wants your terror, and when your eyes open, you see just how greedy she is to see your fear.
You can only hope she doesn’t see the need you feel, too.
She drinks you in, humming darkly, her eyes widening and a twisted smile forming by her lips as you sob and cry, your heart racing, your body twitching from delicious fear, shivers running down your spine. And still, with her so close, your mind races with the thought of kissing her. You don’t know why, don’t want to admit. Instead you insist to yourself- you’re just curious about her. You just don’t want to die without having kissed a woman.
You feel your face heat up when she glances down, finding the hard nipples push against the slim, worn fabric of your shirt. You want to argue it's because of the cold dungeon, not the proximity in which she stands to you, not her hot breath against your face, not her harsh grip on you, not her rich, coppery, sick scent, not how greedily her eyes take you in, not how she just so easily makes you feel like helpless little prey for her.
She lets go of your face just as suddenly as she had grabbed it, and you tremble in fear when she instead offers her hand to you, the tips of her gloved fingertips brushing against your dry lips.
"Off, pet", she commands easily, her voice so sure and strong you almost do as she says without a single thought or any further input at all. Then, trembling, you lean forwards, your eyes teary and stinging as you bite down on the very tip of her glove and pull your head back. Your cheeks burn with humiliation, but her satisfied smirk has your stomach flutter and body heat up. You try not to let your arousal show, but like this, it feels like she knows everything and every little thought and feeling of yours already. She hums, as though happy with your obedience, and for a slim, foolish little moment you believe it might spare you whatever pain the woman- devil, as the villagers call her- is about to force on you.
Maybe, so long as you are good, she will spare you pain.
What a silly thought.
Maybe, if you’re really good, she will touch you, you can’t help but think instead.
She draws back, her bare fingers dragging against your hot cheek. You cry out against her glove, feeling her sharp, claw-like nails scratch at you when her touch turns a little harsher. She isn't forceful, not yet, isn't fast. She enjoys this, enjoys you.
She takes her time, and even through a vision blurry with tears, you catch her hold her breath, golden eyes wide as she watches the blood slowly be drawn to the surface at your cheek. She’s panting hungrily, swaying slightly, eying you like dessert.
Only when there are four cuts by your cheek, all the way down to your jaw, created by her nails, does she stop and draw her hand back and lick seductively at her fingers.
You tremble, your hands weakly twitching against the chains. You shiver and cry, begging please for her, the glove dropping from your mouth. She only scoffs at you, partly annoyed at how easy it is to drain humans.
"Now, don't get tired yet, morsel! I barely even touched you! Give me something fun!", she complains, her expression hardening as she sets her hands to her hips. You feel her fingers drag down again, gasp when she moves her arm so fast you barely even notice. When you hear something tear and feel pain, you almost think this is the end, that your chest is spilled open and your guts drop to the floor, that you too have died at the hands of Cassandra Dimitrescu.
Instead, you watch and feel her tear the flimsy, dirty shirt from you, her sharp nails having only dug forth enough to create another slash at your chest. Not too deep, nor too severe. Barely more than a scratch, but enough for you to tremble and cry out for her, knowing what she expects from you at last.
You feel hot now, being almost fully revealed to her and at her mercy. You so desperately need her touch, shamefully.
Your core throbs even as you try to will it to stop, your head spinning. Your bra, a deep brown, just barely clings to you, and your oversized, poorly crafted pants must have dropped in the time you were made to hang unconscious, leaving you only in flimsy underwear that just barely still clings to you.
You gasp when she presses her fingers flatly to your chest, a low groan tumbling from her lips.
"I can taste your fear, little mouse!", she laughs, her fingers pressing a little tighter against your skin. She growls lowly, her eyes fluttering shut as she moans.
You're certain, like this, she can perfectly feel how your heart jumps from terror and- to your embarrassment and shame- arousal alike.
Again, this close to her, you whimper and can’t help but imagine her leaning in just a little more. A tiny bit more, a mere inch, enough for her lips to brush against yours.
The villagers always rumored and claimed her to be a monster, of monstruous size and appearance. Not a woman, as strikingly beautiful as she is deadly, as seductive as she is sadistic. Not a woman like this, a woman so stunning and seductive, a woman capable of making your knees feel weak and pussy drool at her touch. And it certainly doesn't help that you feel as though she wants to eat you right up.
You flinch when she moves her other hand, her gloved fingers grabbing what seems like a razor-sharp dagger or knife, and whimper pitifully as it's brought to your chest. You shiver, crying out when it sets against your chest, but she only laughs again, as though from pure delight.
When she pushes the tip of the blade inside, you scream, trashing and whimpering, her free hand grabbing your throat and forcing you to be still. Your vision is blurry as screams are torn from you- screams, mixed with moans when you notice her thigh slip between yours. You hope she doesn't notice how embarrassingly wet you are, how easily she can grind her knee between your legs, up against your warm, wet panties, up against your barely clothed pussy.
Her filthy moans, growls, and smirks tell a different story as she grinds her knee against your hot core.
She licks at your tears, her tongue leaving bloody marks behind, and she moans in delight at your screams and cries. Each bit of pain is met with pleasure, each time she curves the blade she also pushes her knee back up against your pussy and grinds against you, until your panties cling to you and she slowly builds up your orgasm, edging you closer and closer only for you to lose it in the pain of the knife twisting at you.
And then, just when you think you can’t take it anymore- she does lean in.
You moan loudly when her lips connect with yours, soft, plump, bloodied. You taste the coppery blood and it makes your stomach turn, but you taste the lingering sweetness and bitter taste that is her of, too.
You cry against her lips as she moves the blade again, all your sobs and moans swallowed by her lips. You can’t help but lean in closer, even as this means more pain.
And when she slips her tongue inside your mouth; you’re sure you’re in heaven.
She dominates you easily, kissing you hungrily as she carves something into you. The pain fades away among the pleasure and you instead find yourself eagerly pushing forwards and rolling your hips, your clit rubbing against her leg.
And when she steps away a few moments after, panting, her pupils blown and hands shaking with lust and satisfaction, your head falls forwards. You spot letters carved in your flesh, making up her name, each bloodier than the last as though she became more and more feral and hungrier for your screams after each one.
She drops the blade and moves forward again, her teeth scraping against your skin and drawing whines, screams, cries and moans from you as she sucks at your chest, just above the bra, where the bloody letters stand out. You feel her hands all over you, plead for more and for her to stop at the same time, to stop the pain and touch you again, but she only laughs against you, as though it's a silly little idea and nothing more.
You shake when she rips your sopping wet panties and your flimsy bra from you, your nipples immediately hardening even more, your pussy drooling against your inner thigh. She groans against you, drinking you in, her grip on your hip harsh as the other hand slides between your legs.
You don't even notice yourself spreading them for her, clinging to the chains as you part yourself for her, not until she laughs against you, the sound and vibrations reverberating against your chest and the dungeon.
"Pahetic little thing", she muses, her tongue hot and wet against you.
You squeal when she kisses her way lower, until her sharp teeth graze your hard nipples. Your entire body betrays you, reacting to the pain as though it's pleasure, driving you closer and closer to an orgasm and making you needier than you thought you could get.
"You should be begging me to stop, filthy little prisoner...beg for me instead, little mouse", she coos, and when she looks up and you see just how hungry she is for you, you feel your pussy clench and feel heat and arousal pool in your stomach.
You need her.
And she knows it, and for some reason yet unknown to you, has decided to keep you, rather than kill you.
Maybe, she just wants to devour you in an entirely different way, after all.
Her humiliating words have your cheeks burn up, but another moan and cry is already torn from you when she wraps her lips around your nipple and moves her hand lower, her fingertip pressing flatly against your clit. You squeal breathlessly, tugging at your chains, but find yourself helpless, much like a bunny trapped in a snare for her.
You're sure, she knows.
You cry out and moan breathily as she toys with you, her sharp teeth cutting into your skin at your breast, her gloved fingertips hard against your clit. She's rough with you, but your body submits to her still, yearning and trembling in the chains, your chest heaving, aching with every breath. You feel the blood run down from the letters carved into you, feel her lick broadly across your breast whenever it drips near her, groaning lowly and moaning hotly against you at the taste of your blood.
Fast, too fast for you to cling to even the tiniest shred of dignity still, you feel yourself getting close to your orgasm again, your cries turning to screams and moans instead, your head thrown back and bloodied body learning into her.
You feel the bruises on you from when she gripped you a little too hard, but can't bring yourself to care, and even find yourself clenching and whining in need as you feel the painful ache and the trickling, light sensation of the bloody letters at your chest.
She moans around your breast, her tongue far too good for you to even mind the sharp pain of her teeth anymore. Instead, you lean into her as much as your position allows, your wrists aching and burning, your body heavy and tired. Your legs shake already, but you keep them spread for her still.
"Mhmm, that's right, pet", she husks against your nipple, giving it one more lick before licking some of the blood from your chest again.
You feel her moan against you, her fingers moving faster between your legs, almost matching your fast heartbeat.
And when you cum and your body shakes, you feel your vision blur and darken and cry out one last time when she bites down on you, you know you're all hers, know she won't let go of you or release you.
Maybe, you don't want her to.
She grabs your face roughly, but affectionately as you slump against the chains, your eyes just barely open, your body spent.
She tsks at you in disapproval and disappointment, but there's no real heat behind the sounds.
Instead, she merely licks some leftover tears from you and licks her gloved fingertip clean, sending you one last, dirty smirk before all goes dark.
