I got some dirty motocross boots on my doorstep today with a note from Coach: "Great job on the track, here's a pair of my lucky boots." I I don't know how to feel about a used pair of boots, but Coach is always looking out for me. He knows I go through my gear quickly and these boots are a huge upgrade from my current pair. As the star motocross rider for his racing team, I'm not surprised he wants to show me some love. Some on the team joke he gives me more attention because they think he's crushing on me. That's all jealous bullshit I pay no mind to. Coach knows I don't swing that way.
I walk out to my garage to try on the boots. They're definitely a few sizes too big. Coach is a bigger guy, and I don't see how I could wear these for my next race. I slide into the boots and there's quite a bit of space in them.
"How do you like the new boots?" I look up to see Coach standing in my garage with a smile on his face.
Tumblr media
He's never showed up at my place before. I'm more concerned how he found his way here, but feel a little inferior standing in his much bigger boots.
"I just tried them on. Thanks so much man, but they feel a little big on me."
"I expected that, but I have some more stuff for you that might help. Figured I'd drop it off personally." He pulls out a pair of bike pants covered in a layer of dirt. "These may be a bit bigger on you, but try them on. They're my special pair and I've had some great rides in them."
Maybe he's on to something I'm not seeing and this is a learning moment. I slide out of the boots and my jeans to slip on his pants. Just like boots they're hanging off me. I try to slip the boots on the boots again. Maybe the pants will fill in the boots some.
"Uhm, I don't know man. They may get caught up in the bike."
Just after I said it, I start to feel a growing surge of energy coming up through the soles of my feet. It's like static electricity tingling all around them. My feet are beginning to pulse and stretch out to fill in the boots. It feels like someone's massaging them and they're really starting to mold to the boots. My feet must now be a size 13!
The static is moving up my legs and I'm overwhelmed with pleasure. I stifle a moan as they begin to inflate my calves and quads. The pants are closing in and the cloth is now hugging me.
"Of fuckkkk" I'm feeling my ass bubble and fill out the back of the pants. My crotch has lightning running through my dick and I feel it begin to bulge and swell. I'm so fucking horny and look up to see Coach. He's got a smirk on his face and there's something really intriguing about him. I steady myself by leaning on my bike as I'm taking in all of his features. I'm seeing him through a new light and he's actually pretty fucking hot.
What would it feel like if he brushed up against me? Why am I thinking this? Oh fuck there's a jolt of lightning going through my ass. My hole is throbbing with energy and I'm breathing heavy like I'm an animal in heat. I slide the pants down to my ankles and push out my ass. Maybe he'll help a guy out.
Tumblr media
He walks up and slides his hands down my boxers to find my hole. I find myself leaning back into his chest and let out a guttural moan as he slides his finger into me. I have pre flowing out of my dick as he begins to rub my prostate from the inside. He's got me hooked, and I'm completely under his control. He leans in and whispers into my ear "Prepare for the best ride of your life."

you can always call me :)
part 1
pairing jj maybank x reader
summary the reader finds herself scared and alone again, so she calls her crush best friend to help.
warnings she/her pronouns. fluff. unsafe situations implied.
request Hii!! Can you make a part 2 of call me with JJ? Maybe he picks reader up somewhere late at night because she doesn’t want to walk home alone and he finally confesses that he likes the reader? - anon
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚.───
It's been a few weeks since you found yourself walking in the dark with JJ. He had been sweet enough to walk almost a mile to meet you on the way to the chateau. It was a sweet gesture that still made you smile, even weeks later.
Since that night, JJ made an effort to help you get a ride home or make sure you always felt safe. You had explained to him that he didn't need to, but he brushed you aside, (“I have to make sure my girl is safe”) and did whatever he could to keep his word. He, unfortunately, hadn't walked home with you again, but he had picked you up from across the island, arranged rides from Kie and John B, and been on the phone with you your whole walks home.
Tonight, though, you were promised a ride by your parents. You just needed to get from your job at the country club to your house, but they'd both got caught up with work. It wasn't far to walk, just across the cut and then a few blocks. But it was late. If there's anywhere you don't want to be late at night, it's walking across that bridge.
You hesitated but convinced yourself to call J. You were sure he wouldn't be bothered to call you while you walk home, but part of you still felt bad for bothering him at this hour.
He answered with two rings.
“Hey, cupcake. Everything alright on figure eight?”
“Uh- yeah. Are you busy right now?”
“I'm about to get on my bike and head home. What's up, princess?” You could hear a little smile on his face, that made you smile too.
“Can you stay on the phone with me while I walk home? It's okay if you can't,” you stammered lightly, free hand furrowing into your pants pocket.
“Where are you? I thought your parents were picking you up,” he rushed.
“I thought so too. They got caught up with work again.”
“So you're still at the club?”
“Yeah, I just walked out of the parking lot-”
“I'll be right there,” he said, firmly. Before you could stop him, he had already hung up. You sat down and watched the clock for him.
It was a twenty minute ride.
He made it there in ten.
“JJ, you didn't have to,” you said once he was in earshot.
He smiled and opened his mouth to say something. He shut it, thought for a second, and then continued.
“I didn’t want to go home anyway,” he said, scoffing and ruffling his hair. He reached his hand out to you and lifted you onto the dirt bike. You smiled, wondering what he was going to say instead.
“How was work?” he asked, almost yelling as he started driving again.
“It was good,” you replied, hugging his back tightly. Your head rested comfortably at the top of his back and your arms came up to his muscular chest.
He nodded, but didn’t say much else until you came up to your house.
“You know you can always call me, right? I’ll be there,” he said, smiling and wrapping his arm around your shoulder familiarly.
“I know. Thank you, J. Come inside, let’s watch a movie,” You were quick to open the door for him, but his arm reached over your head so you could walk in before him.
You changed into pajamas (a hoodie of J’s and some shorts) and joined JJ on the couch for a movie. You sat cuddling him, feeling your cheeks warm up and butterflies in your stomach the whole time.
“You’re so pretty,” he said, bringing his hand to the top of your head.
You laughed nervously and moved so you were looking at him, “What?”
“I said, you’re so pretty,” he repeated as his lips found yours. Electricity seemed to coarse through you and you wondered if he felt it too. Your heart was pounding through your chest and your face was warmer than ever. You smiled against his mouth, and he did the same.
“Finally,” you giggled when he let go for air. He lightly shoved you, and then quickly brought you back to cuddling.
“I’ve wanted to do that for so long.”
You fell asleep in his arms, a smile on both of your faces. When you woke up, your parents were (finally) home, and J was laying extremely still under you so you wouldn’t wake up.
When you came out of the shower an hour later, you heard your mom and him talking about how he had waited long enough.

brought pencil and paper with me to the park the other day and scrawled this out on the side of the road sitting on a rock and now I'm subjecting you to it
HOW TO BECOME HUMAN AGAIN
STEP ONE) go fast. fast enough that your blood crashes in your ears and singes your lungs. the pounding of heels on parement syncopated with heart beats. the whine of the gear chain on the uphill. fast enough to feel an organism again - feel the functions of a body. you are a being of breath and sweat. where does the air of your breath end and the air of the sky begin? don't answer, breathe harder. STEP TWO) go faster. go to the edge of control. go where the wind swallows you and you swallow back. A dove through smoke. faster still. you may need a tool for this - a bike or boat or maybe just your legs and a steep downhill or wings, maybe. go faster. the downhill rattles you, or the waves - let your body absorb it, shaking, faster, closer to the blind edge of holding on. wind sweeps through you - smoke through a dove. you are a body and more. sun on skin and cold and heat and sand and dirt and the stinging soaring speed of it all. here is the shape of you - outlined by what you pass through, here is the strobe of light. the static heat. the crashing dissolve of a meteorite is how we see it's there.
STEP THREE) go slow. ideally you are far from where you started. ideally you have found desolation. if not, fly farther, then slow. In this expanse you are nameless but your body is here. you are small. now - slowly - shrink until you fit in a world a meter tall. examine the life at your feet, maybe plants, fungi, insects, spiders, maybe your desolation is at home in gravels and sands. count the bacteria in a thimble of soil, nonce the tracks of beetles, leafminers. the density of roots, mycelium. even under pavement there is life be absorbed in it. how long since since last footfalls graced here? how long since humans passed? an hour? a day? a lifetime? (whose lifetime?) find this place in your mind ten years ago. how much has it seen? a millennium? and now you are here. and now you. place a hand on the ground. or sit, or lie. return to the expanse and multiply it by the depth and density of history and by the width of now. bite the electrical wire. you are here.
STER FOUR) go onward. back inhabiting some kind of self. it is best, I find, to let the oil work through the gears before returning. you now and human again. be that a little longer before you
STEP FIVE) go home, wherever that is now.

1998 San Francisco Playlist (YouTube)
Really ain't nothin' like the city of San Francisco when it comes to the music. The hippie-psychedelic Haight-Ashbury vibes of the 60s ended up getting baked into the cyber-psychonautic underground rave scene of the 90s; there's been a whole bunch of house music; a rich folk tradition; Bay Area hip hop developed into its own oft-overlooked entity; a pretty deep pocket of turntablism; and, of course, plenty of indie rock too. Quite a mix of scenes, and I'm obviously missing a bunch too!
So this week I'm giving you all something that feels like a long-forgotten CD that some college kid who was attending school in San Francisco may have burnt back in 1998. It's an eclectic, completely underground mix of electronic, hip hop, and a little bit of indie too; and it's been collecting dust at the bottom of a drawer now for over 25 years!
We kick off with a dubby deep house remix of Paris' A Reminiscent Drive's "Two Sides to Every Story" by SF native Charles Webster—14.4K plays on YouTube across a handful of uploads—and then we follow that up with a mix of UK group Globo's "Breakdown" by legendary breakbeat/trip hop pioneer Jack Dangers of Meat Beat Manifesto, who started calling the Golden Gate City his home in 1993—under 500 plays on that one as of right now. A little after that we get more breakbeat from a *very* obscure duo called Astralabe, whose cinematic, tribal-psychedelic masterpiece, "Guimbri Dub (Self-Cremating Fire of Passion Remix)," appears to be the only song that they ever released, and is included exclusively on an uncredited DJ mix called The Vertical Iris; currently sitting at a measly 92 plays.
Then on the hip hop side of things, we have some lo-fi dustiness from Double Life and Raw B called "Cycles of the Mind," as well as a 7-plus-minute medley by Sacred Hoop, DJ Marz, and Z-Man called "Not Our House," which I think can only be best described as Tony Hawk Pro Skater soundtrack vibe. Those songs have 28.8K and 6.6K plays, respectively. And then for some killer turntablism, we've got a few tunes, including something from DJ Badrok called "1-800-Coming Correct," which has a little under 400 plays.
There's also a fat, buzzy bassline drum n bass remix by a guy named DJ Abstract of "Dukes Up," the original version of which is by someone who simply went by the name of W, that has a little over 6.5K plays (sorry about the super annoying part at the end of it 😕); and a couple tunes that show the versatility of a dude named Cole Marquis, whose solo indie folk tune, "48's," only has a little over 140 plays, and his much peppier, college/indie rock, keyboard-aided bop, "Dirt Bike Rider," by his band The Snowmen, has a little over 170 plays.
This playlist is ordered as chronologically as possible.
Reminiscent Drive - "Two Sides To Every Story (Love From San Francisco Remix)" Globo - "Breakdown (mixed by Jack Dangers of Meat Beat Manifesto)" Daisy Glow - "Right On! (User Friendly mix)" Astralabe - "Guimbri Dub (Self-Cremating Fire of Passion Remix)" Rasco - "Cordless Mics" Cole Marquis - "48's" Double Life feat. Raw B - "Cycles of the Mind" Live Human - "Almost Live" Sacred Hoop feat. DJ Marz & Z-Man - "Not Our House" DJ Badrok - "1-800-Coming Correct" Apollo, Vinroc, Shortkut & Richness - "Live at Cue's" W - "Dukes Up (DJ Abstract's One A.M. mix)" Snowmen - "Dirt Bike Rider"
And here's a list of the compilations and mixes that were used to put this thing together:
Club H Vol. 2 by Harry the Bastard (2000, Statra Recordings) The Chemistry Set (1998, Hypnotic Records) The Vertical Iris (1998, ZoëMagik Records) Observation of Ruins (1998, Baraka Foundation) Cleaning House: A Devil in the Woods Compilation (1999, Devil in the Woods) Cue's Hip Hop Shop Volume One (1998, Dogday Records) Eclectic Electric (2000, eMusic)
And this playlist is also on YouTube Music.
So you've got about 66 minutes of some pretty obscure 1998 San Francisco underground music here, the likes of which I don't think anyone else besides that hypothetical college kid that I made up before would ever put together 😁.
Going back to the 70s next week with an update to a genre playlist that I haven't touched in a *very* long time 👀.
Enjoy!
More to come, eventually. Stay tuned!

~ Friggin Friday ~
[Story 32]
----------
Prompt: You've been transported to a 2000's live-action Disney movie & your only key to getting is by making the MC's dreams unobtainable through any means necessary. Prompt By: r/wingman66 (Reddit) Started Writing: 07/09/2024
----------
Word of advice: never buy a TV from a witch's garage sale.
Because I've been in this Chinese restaurant since eleven in the morning, downing fortune cookies like cheap shots, looking like an absolute maniac! But the only way outta this C-tier movie is to keep Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan for swapping bodies, and the quickest way to do that is to make sure this place doesn't have any more terrible-tasting mystic fortunes to give…I'm gonna be sick!
|| || || || ||
Ok, so fun fact: if you eat your weight in fortune cookies you will vomit until you pass out. But enough about my ongoing hatred for fortune cookies. Time for plan B! Jamie Lee Curtis, who is now in Lindsay Lohan's body, should be meeting with this world's version of the mean girl trio.
Which doesn't really hit, now that I think about it. Because I know Mean Girls came out in 2004, and Freaky Friday, I think, came out the year before, but whatever!
Regina- I mean…who am I kidding? Her actual name doesn't matter. Regina's about to trick Jamie Lee Lohan into getting gift-wrapped, causing her to stumble over a nearby bike rack and eat grass. However, if my math is right, I should have set in motion a Final Destination-style series of unfortunate events where, instead of landing on soft-ish dirt, Jamie'll get knocked out for hopefully the rest of the movie's run time…
-Pulls Out Phone-
Wow, '09 and '04 again! How do I even know that this movie exists? Wait, that's riiiiiight, Parent Trap and the School Sleepover. Man, those were better days. Why couldn't I get trapped in Parent Trap? Could've been done by now.
-Jamie Lee Lohan screams as she topples over the bike rack onto dirt-
What the-where's the duffle bag of football helmets? Where's the horde of test frogs? What happened to the-
-The school shakes as a muffled explosion goes off, followed by fire alarms-
Oh yeah, forgot about the toilet bombs. Oh, man, I should probably make sure that janitor's okay. Alright, first, help the janitor, and then we slash pretty boy's motorcycle tires.
…probably should have done that first.
|| || || || ||
Ok, so that did not work at all, but on the bright side, Jamie Lee Curtis' character is a pretty good therapist, so I got that going for me.
Anyway, no more, Mr. Subtle. It's the big concert, and I gotta show stopper, and by that, I mean over a thousand dollars in professional-grade fireworks at the heart of the city's electrical grid. Can't rock with no power!
-Laughs maniacally while lighting the fuse-
…wait a minute…these are rockets…rockets explo-
|| || || || ||
-Jerks awake on the couch as the credits for Freaky Friday roll down the TV screen-
Oh, thank God that worked! Not to self, next, get trapped in something fun like Lilo & Stitch or one of the Rugrats movies or…
-Jumps off the couch over to the DVD rack, frantically searching through the stacks until finding "Speed Racer 2008."-
I take it all back, this was the best purchase I've ever made!

What would you say the best thing you’ve ever alchemized is? Once, I alchemized a truck with a toy Millennium Falcon. I ended up with a flying armored truck with a ton of storage space. Hella expensive but totally worth it, could withstand a blast from a Skaian Siege Engine.
I'm willing to bet that the Flying Armored Truck was an endgame alchemization, considering you said it was "hella expensive", larger mass = more Grist, and the game artificially inflates the price of anything that lets you fly. Which means you probably needed an appreciable stockpile to even do anything, not to mention you'd need Uranium to fuel it, because everything that doesn't run on electricity runs on Uranium.
I bring it up because, yeah, that does sound cool, but I figured I might as well use the opportunity to point out to anybody not in the know that vehicles are largely impactical in SBURB. No shade towards you for making a Millenium Pick-Up Truck, but let's look over the impracticalities and redundancies.
It has "a ton of storage space", but the Sylladex system cuts down on 80% of most logistics concerning item storage. Then you discover that alchemizing Captchalogue Cards is dirt cheap and logistics is now only 90-100% taken care of, depending on how ass your Fetch Modus is.
It can fly, but so can you once you go God Tier. Not to mention your God Tier flying is much more agile, and I've only ever seen actual ignoramuses and newbies crash while god-flying. I imagine a flying truck is a bit less aerodynamic, the controls are much more esoteric, and it can't fit in certain spots. Plus the Uranium (nasty explosions, you tend not to explode).
Flying is the only thing the car can do. Most Lands are not built for driving, you'll either crash or shake the thing to pieces.
Gates and Telepads make most long-distance travel unnecessary, and are the only way to do "long-distance travel" to other Lands, Dream Moons, The Battlefield, or The Veil.
You can always do things because they're fun, but most "vehicles", unless they small not-even-vehicles like bikes, skateboards, jetpacks, or rollerblades, have several complications that makes using them difficult. And even the jetpacks suffer from the fact that, while you MIGHT know how to drive a car pre-entry, and those skills MIGHT translate to flying cars, you will NEVER know how to ride a jetpack properly, plus the flames they emit kinda hurt when they get you in the back of the shins (this happens more often than you'd think). That's why most people recommend bikes.
But I never learned how to ride a bike so I just walked everywhere.

October 2: Meteor Shower
Alternate Universe
Keith was annoyed. He wanted to go riding. By himself-fast. He needed his private weekly jaunts, where he raced his bike over miles and miles of highway into the desert. No destination. No obeying the speed limit. No fucking helmet. Just sharp turns, wind in his face and the feeling of freedom, hell it was not simply needed but necessary. Vital. It helped clear his head and ensured that he was able to get through each week with no fights, well no physical fights, at least. So he was more than annoyed, he was pissed.
And for the times when his week was really shit? Like this week, when he failed a major exam, lost hours at the garage due to a power outage and discovered James was a member of his gym, well, he needed a little more. So after a week like this, he typically visited his old property where a dirt bike stashed in a shed to get a little more adventurous. If he was honest, he had been looking forward to this night since as early as Wednesday. But nooooo. Shiro decided to impress his new boy toy and volunteered Keith as an offering. He SO owed him!
Sighing he looked up at Shiro who was staring lovingly at his phone. Dude. How the mighty have fallen. But since it was Shiro he didn’t say anything and instead, he was standing on the side of the highway in some diner’s parking lot with a spare helmet.
“They are almost here!! Keith, I really need you to be, well, the best version of yourself tonight. You know I love you, but, this is Matt and his baby sister. And, no don’t give me that look! She’s been bullied in the past and Matt’s really protective of her. You can understand. So, if you…you...know act badly, that will really mess this up for me. So, I’m asking you to please be on your best behavior. Please. Be patient and kind.”
Keith rolls his eyes, “Whatever, I’m here aren’t I?”
“Keith! I’m just-“ Shiro pauses and grins, “I hear his car.”
Keith laughs, “Hear? Dude it’s an electric car you aren’t hearing anything! But yeah, the headlights give it away. So where are we headed again?”
“There’s an overlook about 20 miles down this highway. Stop there. Both of them are really into space like us, so GUESS WHO is seeing the meteor shower tonight?”
Keith sighed as the car’s interior lights glowed as the door swung open. Well at least there was something in it for him. He actually forgot the meteor shower was tonight after the shit week he had. He squinted as the two Holt siblings got out of the car. Hmmm, his Holt was probably the short one. Hell, how old was she? She looked like a kid. But at least she had pants on and a jacket. Suitable riding gear. Small wins.
“Fuck off Matt, I told you that I had plans! I don’t need to third wheel your dates.”
Keith blinked as she came closer. Okay, maybe not a kid after all.
He heard Matt retort, “Playing video games and eating junk food does NOT qualify as plans dear sis.”
Just then, Keith got his first look at her as she walked into the halo of light from the diner’s parking lot sign. His heart stuttered, he knew her! Or well he’s seen her. She was in engineering classes, top of the class. Frowning he tried to remember what was said about her. Hmmm, he thought her name was Pidge? Pidge Holt? Or not, he thought Shiro mentioned a Katie. IF it was was the same girl, though, the word genius fit. Mouthy. Sarcastic. Hell, she had the nerve to walk up to the board and correct a professor. Everyone was talking about it. He smirked.
Hell, it was big if he heard about it! It was epic. But he really liked the attitude. Then just as she stepped up to where Shiro and him were standing, all thought stalled. No one mentioned she was so cute. Blinking, his eyes snapped up to Shiro’s gleeful gaze. Well hell. Maybe, just maybe he wasn’t too mad. Maybe, just maybe this night will be better than he thought!

Electric Mobility Scooter: Everything You Need To Know
Whether you’re looking for electric mobility scooter or electric wheelchair, there are a few things that you need to know before purchasing one. Mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs are designed to help people with limited mobility and their caregivers get around more easily and safely, so choosing the right one is crucial.
There are many different types of mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs on the market, each one better suited for particular conditions than others.
In this article, we'll discuss what makes these types of vehicles different from one another, how they work (and don't), how to choose the best option for your needs — including what types of features you should look for when shopping around — as well as some common questions about using them (like whether they're legal on sidewalks).
What do the different classes of mobility scooters mean?
There are three different classes of mobility scooters:
Class 3: These are the most powerful and have a top speed of 12 mph. They can be driven on the road, in addition to being able to travel in off-road areas such as parks and bike paths. Due to their high speeds, they are considered motor vehicles by law and require registration with your local DMV.
Class 2: These provide good performance for an affordable price, making them ideal for short commutes around town or longer trips when traveling outside city limits. Their maximum speed is 8 mph, but you can still use them on the road if you're over 18 years old and have held your driver's license for at least one year (in some states).
Class 1: Also known as "personal mobility devices," these devices come in at just under 6mph (or 9km/h) with a range of up to 8 miles (12 km). They do not require registration or insurance because they don't meet federal definition standards for motorized vehicles; however, if you drive one off-road then it must be insured against liability claims stemming from accidents incurred while operating it on public land like trails or sidewalks nearby private property where parking isn't allowed without permission from someone who lives there -- not just anyone who happens upon your travels through woods near where they live!
How much will an electric mobility scooter cost?
Electric mobility scooters can cost anywhere from $1,300 to $5,000. This range is largely dependent on the brand and features you want in your scooter. As with other types of mobility equipment, it's important to research the quality and reliability of the brands before purchasing one.
For example, a basic electric mobility scooter made by a low-quality brand may cost under $1,500 whereas a higher-end model from a reputable company might be closer to $4,000 or more.
Tumblr media
How do you maintain and store a mobility scooter properly?
It is important to store your folding mobility scooter in a dry location and out of direct sunlight. Moisture can damage the electrical system, or even rust the frame. If you have limited storage space, you may want to consider getting one with folding wheels so that it can be stored in a smaller space or on an indoor rack.
To keep your e-scooter looking great, wipe down any dirt or debris off of its surface regularly with a damp cloth - this will prevent grime from building up over time!
Be sure not to use window cleaners or other harsh chemicals - they could damage the finish on your mobility scooter's paint job over time (and make it look like crap).
Conclusion
All in all, we can say that the future of electric mobility scooter is bright. They're becoming more affordable and accessible, so you don't have to pay thousands of dollars up front. Plus they're easy to use and don't require a lot of maintenance or upkeep once they're set up properly!

How to Take Care of Your Bicycle in the Monsoon
Monsoon brings joy to many cyclists but also demands extra care for your beloved two-wheeler. Here are some essential tips to keep your bicycle in top shape during the rainy season.
Tumblr media
1. Regular Cleaning
Rinse Off the Mud and Dirt
After every ride in the rain, rinse off the mud and dirt accumulated on your bicycle. Use a gentle stream of water to avoid damaging any components.
Use Mild Soap
Clean your bicycle with mild soap and a soft brush to remove stubborn dirt and grime. Pay special attention to the chain, gears, and brakes.
Dry Thoroughly
After washing, dry your bicycle thoroughly with a clean cloth. Leaving water on the bike can lead to rust and corrosion.
2. Lubricate Your Bicycle
Lubricate the Chain
Rain can wash away the lubricant from your bicycle chain. After cleaning, apply a good-quality chain lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
Lubricate Other Moving Parts
Lubricate other moving parts like the derailleur, brake pivots, and cables to prevent rust and ensure they function properly.
3. Check the Tires
Tire Pressure
Maintain proper tire pressure to ensure a good grip on wet roads. Check the pressure regularly as it can fluctuate with temperature changes.
Tire Tread
Inspect the tire tread for wear and tear. Worn-out tires can be slippery on wet roads, so consider replacing them if necessary.
4. Protect Your Bicycle
Use Mudguards
Install mudguards to protect your bicycle and yourself from splashing water and mud. Mudguards can help keep your bike cleaner and reduce the need for frequent washing.
Cover Your Bicycle
When not in use, cover your bicycle with a waterproof cover to protect it from the rain. Store it in a dry place to prevent rust and corrosion.
5. Brake Maintenance
Check Brake Pads
Wet conditions can wear down brake pads quickly. Inspect them regularly and replace them if they are worn out.
Dry the Brakes
After a ride in the rain, dry the brakes with a cloth to remove any moisture that could affect their performance.
6. Chain Care
Use a Chain Guard
A chain guard can protect your chain from dirt and water, extending its life. It also helps in keeping your clothes clean.
Regular Inspection
Inspect the chain regularly for rust and damage. Clean and lubricate it frequently to ensure it remains in good condition.
7. Frame Protection
Apply Frame Polish
Applying a frame polish or wax can create a protective layer on your bicycle's frame, preventing rust and keeping it looking new.
Check for Rust
Inspect the frame for any signs of rust. If you find any, treat it immediately to prevent it from spreading.
8. Electrical Components (For E-Bikes)
Waterproofing
Ensure all electrical components and connections are properly waterproofed. Use dielectric grease on connectors to prevent water ingress.
Battery Care
Remove the battery after a wet ride and dry it thoroughly before charging. Store it in a dry place to prevent damage.
9. Storage Tips
Indoor Storage
If possible, store your bicycle indoors during the monsoon. This protects it from constant exposure to moisture and rain.
Use a Bike Stand
Using a bike stand keeps your bicycle off the ground, reducing the chance of water damage to the tires and rims.
10. Regular Professional Check-Up
Visit a Cycle Shop
Regularly take your bicycle to a professional cycle shop for a thorough check-up. They can identify and fix issues that you might overlook, ensuring your bike stays in top condition throughout the monsoon.
Seek Advice
Get advice from experts at your local bicycle store on the best practices and products for maintaining your bicycle during the monsoon.
