Ruby vs Python: Evaluating the Best Programming Language for 2024
Hearing from the number of people using the language quantity and concomitant strength can also be considered as part of the criteria for selecting the best programming language for 2024. These include applicability, versatility, conciseness, speed, handling large datasets, a rich library of tools and resources, as well as active community and growth over the current decade. Due to the availability of an extensive list of libraries, frameworks, and resources, Python is indispensable in present-day data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Program sense headcanons in Tron.
I have many so there's a readmore
Programs have different senses or level of sensitivity based on their function. They can change if upgraded; Tron shares some of his monitor senses with Beck using the disc
Programs designed to monitor a system or involved in communication have heightened senses, and a lot of processing capacity for them. Some programs are designed to get a broad idea of everything, while others are more specialised
Some see the program equivalent of shrimp colours - seeing radio waves is common in tower guardians or those who communicate with the internet.
Programs do not have a sense of smell
Less of a sense of taste than humans (they usually just eat energy, which tastes mostly similar. They can tell if it’s poisoned. Like irl, water from different taps tastes different but not by much.)
They DO have electroperception, and some have thermoception. Same with grid wildlife like bits.
A combination of the two above things lets monitors do that footprint-seeing thing that Dyson and Rinzler do (even if not directly linked in to be able to see system logs for that area)
Structures and vehicles give off different electrical frequencies. Programs whose function is related to those buildings can sense them, and receive signals from that which can hold information and helps them know where to go like they're ants following pheromone trails. e.g. programs in charge of the trains will have Train Sense
Messing with the above is totally what they used to control people in frame of mind
Programs also have their own signature they can use to tell each other apart
Electrical signals as nonverbal communication. Can communicate with Bits or Bytes this way
This thing that electric fish do called jamming avoidance
Programs can be linked with each other, common in counterparts or parent/child pairings (as in the computer version of parent and child), and share information with each other over the link like telepathy
Full black circuit-covering suits like Rinzler’s are stealthy both due to not giving off light, and masking the electrical signature of a program. They can disguise themselves as others using a similar principle
Users give off electricity, so they seem like a program to other programs on first glance, but those who know what to look for can tell the difference. Given it’s used in communication, programs can get confused talking to users as their electrical impulses don’t follow the same rules, but they can loosely interpret them with practice
Imagining Tron or other monitors getting sensory overload if network traffic is too high, or if in the outside world and standing among a bunch of computers/phones/servers/radio towers etc.
Programs in the outside world get pretty much none of the electrical feedback they’re used to, which can be unsettling for them
Idk how it would be different for Isos. I imagine there’d be a lot of similarities but their senses adapt/change based on their circumstances - getting stronger when needed and weaker when not
#if we wanted to really get into it even stuff like seeing or hearing would probably be electroperception for programs but EEEEEHHH#taste thing is what I was getting at with the beginning of the food post#but I worded it poorly#also feeds into the Tron autism headcanon#I don’t have it so don’t quote me#but I recall reading somewhere that for some people the trouble with nonverbal communication#can be from heightened senses#as they pick up too much information about the other person’s body language/tone of voice which can conflict#tron headcanon#worldbuilding#Quorra outside: *tripping over stuff because she can’t tell it’s there*#*fish are the best animal*#*this forest is too damn quiet*#*communicates with electric eels*#Tron leaves the system and immediately has to go back in because it’s too damn loud out there with all the phones#Has to get the filters on his helmet upgraded before he can go again#tronblr#tron

Last night i had a mini freak out because i felt like i was forgetting words/phrases in english and arabic as a result of me focusing solely on hebrew for the past three months, i dont know if it was the insomnia or the general exhaustion but it startled me so bad because what would happen when i start focusing on italian next month?? What would happen when i go back to learning Russian?? I cant afford all the effort and the time to go for nothing and for one language to replace the other-
#i know i know that its a universal experience when one is learning a language#but it still shook me to the core because what if im not makig any progress and just wasting my time?#especially since i was supposed to apply for master's programs this year but then the war happened#maybe its for the best maybe next year will offer me better chances#langblr#learning languages#studyblr#productivity#dec 2023

changing majors sucks bc I already met my language requirements w spanish bc it made most sense as a pre-k/elementary teacher in the US but now that I've switched tracks to religious studies I'm required to know german, french, and hebrew for basically any phd program and most masters programs. which is fair enough, it just means I need to learn at least intermediary of all three of those before I start my masters. I really wish the US education system focused as much on secondary languages as other places like I'm lucky enough that I took honors German in high school so at least I'm not starting from nowhere but they really don't prioritize it and they definitely don't try to make sure you're fluent in more than English
#wjeghshs godspeed to me#I have a couple years tho bc I realized getting my ma in history would be a pointless waste of money#so instead I'm gonna take those couple years to save up money get a full time job and learn languages and take conversion classes#and then do a joint ma/phd program somewhere#but I do need a fundamental of each of those languages to start any of them :')#out of them I know german best so I'm starting there but :')

#2nd year in my program has a reputation for being the absolute worst part of it#it’s orals year (the exam is at the end)#but we still also have a full course load and a research project and workshop commitments and (for those that need it) language classes#plus. I have publication commitments. two dictionary articles (blessedly done). and a chapter#and I will lose my ever loving mind if I don’t get to go the gym every day#so it’s a lot. (a lot on a good day. hell on most really)#the unsurprisingly result of this is that I have been exhausted and stressed to the max#when I got back from one of my orals prep classes today#I was working on the research paper for my Maimonides class and got a call out of the blue that I had a DHL delivery#which was very confusing#b/c the only things I’ve ordered recently were coming via UPS#lo and behold#one of my best friends from LSE who still lives in London#sent me surprise birthday gifts from harrods#a moleskin and a box of their Knightsbridge blend tea!#I adore the gifts of course#but it mostly just made me feel very grateful to he remembered and loved in that way#(my birthday is actually the Saturday after this coming one. the vagaries of international shipping are not her fault though)#me stuff#not the stones#(((also please excuse the tea cupboard. my collection does in fact take up an entire large kitchen cabinet and go three rows back on the#bottom shelf. I may have a problem)))

This is so cool! What an amazing program! I hope it can be a model perhaps for other languages with few speakers left to begin similar programs. Language is a beautiful thing and means so much that is hardly my place to describe. Still I'd love nothing more than to see them saved and spoken for decades to come.
😭😭
