Actually I finally figured out what all the hubbub over crab day really reminds me of.

Remember back in the pre-dashcon, superwholock days, when people on tumblr would make posts that were like:

“Guys, we HAVE to watch this mediocre show!! If the creators see how big of a gay audience there is, then they’ll HAVE to write real gay characters instead of constantly queerbaiting us! And if it doesn’t get good ratings it might get cancelled, and we’ll lose our chance at REAL representation and it’ll be all your fault!”

and this was considered legitimate praxis.

and like, back then we were all 13 and didn’t know how tv executives and real life works, so we actually did it. But a lot of y’all are in your twenties AT LEAST and are still thinking that’s how a multimillion dollar business is gonna operate

My apartment is down to 13.2 C, 10:00 pm. I went over to my friends house to fill up a hot water bottle for my calico just in case and we sat and chatted for a bit. When I got back to my house my orange is still doing fine/is no longer catatonic but now my calico is acting a bit strange. She's been fine with the cold so far, sleeping on the couch in the wide open air. I got the hot water bottle for her honestly, I haven't been able to get her near it yet though. She's not a cuddler and she's only been coming onto my bed to knead/suckle the fleece blankets, walk the perimeter, and leave again. I put her baby blanket back beside my pillow where it usually is/she'll sleep there sometimes, in an attempt to get her into bed with us but she won't stay put anywhere. She's starting to seem a little freaked out and she's restless and won't stay put anywhere so I don't know where to put the hot water bottle for her and it's stressing me out. I have no idea how cold it's gonna get overnight. This apartment is poorly insulated so we'll see just how poorly lol.

I wish my cat would pick a place and lie down though so I could put the hot water bottle near her. Once I'm asleep there's a real chance I'll sleep right through and not wake up so I'm nervous as fuck about whether she's going to be okay through the cold part of the night. My friend said if I need to refill with hot water during the night I'm welcome to just come in and use their stove (it's gas) but I'd really like to avoid that lol. I wish I'd put boiling water in it though cuz it's already not feeling as hot as it should in order to last 4-5 hours like I know it can :/

Idk this blizzard is whack and my region has officially closed all roads. Theres a fuckton of snow already and its gonna keep coming until morning. I'm doubtful we'll get power back at noon and my hope is to sleep all morning but I've also never had a power outage like this during the winter before and have never had to worry about it getting very cold. Somehow for my entire life every major blackout has been during the summer ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I had 2 blissful hours of both my cats being fine and not worrying, but now I'm worried about my bean. She's so fucking restless and while writing this alone she's come over 4 times and left again 😞 Her body feels cold and I wish she would cuddle me.

This picture has quite a story attached to it, so allow me to tell it:

A few WW1 airplanes enthusiasts just outside Toronto built fully functioning replicas of some famous biplanes and triplanes of that era. I was sent to a small airport near Brampton, Ontario, Canada, to take pictures of the planes. When I arrived, Joe Auger, one of the plane builders and a pilot, greeted me and showed me around the hangar where they had kept their flying machines. There were fragile-looking planes with one, two and three sets of wings, strewn haphazardly around the space. I confessed to Joe that I don’t know much about air battles of the WW1, the only plane I knew was the Red Baron. At that, his face lit up. As it turned out, he flies the replica of the famous plane. He showed me the red airplane which looked unexpectedly small and fragile in the vast hangar. The light was dim and the background was just horrific dull metal interior, so I asked if there was a chance to roll the plane outside. He grinned widely - “I can offer something better,” he said, “I can take it up for a spin.”

That sounded great, but I worried the photos wouldn’t be the greatest on a fly-by against the sky and said so. Joe had the solution for that too - they’ll take me up in another plane to fly parallel to his Red Baron. They’ll even fly a third plane and do a mock air-battle. Who could refuse such offer?

We took off and Joe, true to his word, preformed some Red-Baronesque air maneuvers, even let some smoke billow behind his plane for greater effect. It was an adventure to remember for life. I wore the appropriate WW1-style leather cap/helmet and sat in a tiny cockpit of a two-seater biplane whose name I sadly cannot recall, snapping picture of the Red Baron over the fields outside Brampton. When I had what I need in terms of both, pictures and thrill, we prepared for landing. That’s when things became weird. The pilot shouted over the wind that he can’t hear the control tower. We circled around the small structure, not much taller than a water tower, for a while, to no avail. He decided to fly by and let them know that something’s wrong with the radio. Someone waved him from the tower, signalling to land. So we did.

While we were up in the air, the whole airport lost power. It took them a while to start generators, that’s why there was no radio answer from the tower. Thinking nothing of it, I said my goodbyes and left the airport, still thrilled from the flight. Traffic lights outside the airport were dead, even the blinking yellow lights were off. Knowing that the airport had no power, that didn’t surprise me. But, soon after I hit more dead traffic lights and the traffic started building up until everything came to a halt.

There was no internet-enabled cell phones at the time, so I finally tuned to all-news radio station. They broadcast traffic situation every 15 minutes, so I thought to check how to get home the fastest. And that’s when I heard it - while I was flying above fields of Brampton, Northeast Canada and the U.S. were hit with the massive “Northeast Blackout of 2003”. The whole province of Ontario, as well as a bunch of northeastern states in the U.S. were without the power. Everything from Toronto to New York City went dark. Instantly, the blackout was the story of the day. My involvement in the air battle of the WW1 was forgotten. The story and pictures never saw the light of the day.

Danny sat on a rooftop feeling confused. It was currently 3 days later than he last remembered. That was 3 DAYS with no memory of anything. He didn’t even know what city he was in. The only thing he is sure of is that it wasn’t mind control. His experience with Freakshow let him know that.

Along with this feeling more similar to the time his mom shoved high proof cleaning alcohol that was ectofied in his face during an excited rant. The fumes alone had him missing a few hours. Luckily Jazz was there and kept his blackout drunk self entertained.

So the question was, where the hell was he and what did he do?! Also, what caused him to blackout? Last he remembered he was in Metropolis and he got nearly hit in the head with a green glowing stone that he only vaguely could tell was somehow not ectoradium. After that? Nothing.

Aka: Kryptonite is highly compressed ectoplasm and causes Danny to get black out drunk just by being in its vicinity.
