Hello, everyone! No formal calendar this year, but I did want to post this year's prompts for everyone.

Slightly different this year, I will be accepting anything created in the spirit of Marinette March. You may use this year's prompts, but I will also be accepting general submissions as well as any prompts from previous years. The goal is just to spread love and positivity for Marinette!

Hello, everyone! It's the greatest time of year again~ It's time to celebrate our favorite canon couple! Huge shouts out to @chocoluckchipz for making the most beautiful animated calendar for us again this year! I am in awe of Lucky and her talent, so please send her a kind word for volunteering her artistry for another calendar. (I literally squealed and cried the first time I watched it)

It's me, the person who submitted so many bls lol. I'll admit that even I haven't watched every single one of the ones I submitted, just went through my list of dramas on my watchlist lol (which is why they're not all queer or from one country). I mainly did it cause it seemed wild to me that tumblr as a whole seemed to have no idea about the fact that there is this like massive industry for queer shows in Asian countries. Thailand in particular has a lot, easily the most out of all the countries, cause they really mass produce them. There's like so much variation too, like it really spans across so many genres. Back in the late 2010s, most Thai bls were set in high school or university (where they would always be without fail engineering students) but starting at around 2020 the plots started to become a lot more complex with so much more variation! Another cool thing in Thai bl from the past couple years is that a lot of the directors/writers of these shows are openly queer. Even the first trans MP in the House of Representatives in Thailand is a director and has directed several bls, most notably The Eclipse and Wandee Goodday. We're also in like the early days of the gl industry forming in Thailand too! More and more gls are be announced all the time, and while only a few have aired so far, it's pretty cool to watched that industry form and develop

Anyways I'm glad that more people are discovering these shows! I'm not actually from one of the countries as people have suspected, but I've been in the general fandom for a while and most people who have been can name that many or more shows in the genre lol

OMG BL GEORG! this is like meeting a celebrity ahah

honestly i really respect the dedication to spread these shows outside the community, until you came along i didn't have many asian shows posted. i'm pretty sure that if you haven't come back for another wave of submissions, you've pushed more people to submit asian dramas as well!

anyway willingly or not you are now part of this blog's lore so. there's another achievement for you :')

Additional ways to use the tags:

This blog is designed to allow you some basic customization. Any tag that you don't like can be blocked. So if you aren't into video games canons, you can block 'media: video games'. If you like your fic to match canon closely, block 'media: all media types'.

Note for submitters: You are absolutely allowed to give me different tags than the authour added for media types. If you think a fic is canon compliant, but it's on AO3 under 'All Media Types', feel free to submit it under 'media: comics' instead!

If you're squicked (grossed out) by romance, block the 'shippy' tag.

Note for submitters: You are also allowed to give me different tags than the authour added for relationship types. There ISN'T an 'other' category on AO3. The AO3 tag for 'Gen' is split into 'gen' and 'ensemble' here. (Ensemble is for fic that focus on multiple characters, and not on their relationships.) Choose the one that you think fits best.

If you only want newer fic recs, or really want to get into older fandom, block the 'published' tags that you aren't interested in. You can also block specific subfandoms. If you're annoyed by the high percentage of Batman fic, 'batman' is easy to block!

Y'all I am DISCOVERING things

So if you do a native export of your tumblr blog, it delivers all the information to you in the least helpful way ever, but if you drill down into the posts folder there's a "submissions" subfolder.

This folder only contains html files named a string of numbers. This is how all the export files look, they're usually named the ID string for a post, but these are labeled "submissions", so lets take a look shall we?

It's spam, obviously, the same spam bots everyone has been getting, but I've never posted this and I don't have it in my inbox right now, and all my recent (higher number) files in this folder look like this.

Now, take a step back. 2020. Real ones remember I am campaigning because I have asks stuck in my inbox. I physically cannot delete them. I hit the delete button, it does the animation of it flying away into the ether, but the number of asks in my inbox doesn't go down, and when I refresh the page they're still there. It's especially broken because asks that were sent back to me as private replies years ago look like they're being answered by anons. I contact Tumblr support and they tell me there's nothing they can do. I called these my ghost asks.

Literal years later, they suddenly all vanish, but the number of asks it says I have doesn't change. An anon advises me to go on mobile and hit delete all, at which point I discover there are a few asks there I never saw on desktop! After taking care of those, hitting delete all works and my number goes down to 0 for the first time in years.

Flash forward. 2024. For a little bit I keep getting asks notifications appearing above the icon on desktop, but when I click on it, there's nothing new there. Sometimes the number of asks on the right goes up, sometimes it's the same. I posted saying sorry if you're sending me asks, they're getting eaten, but I theorize that I'm actually getting spam and the accounts are being deleted from others reporting them before I see the asks.

Well it turns out there are a fuckton of asks secretly associated with your account. This submissions folder contains all asks in your askbox - the ones you know about (three for me, sorry y'all I swear I planned to reply), and the ones you don't. That's right, all the anon hate you've ever received in your life is in this folder.

So far as I can tell, if you do not 1) post, 2) privately answer, or 3) manually delete an ask, then even if (especially if) you block that person, even if that person gets wiped off the face of the earth for spam, even if Tumblr breaks so much it thinks an anonymous is answering your own message into your inbox, it all stays right here and the only way you can possibly retrieve it is by doing this native export. I have no idea why it works like this but I had 117 of these things. It's so funny because you can see the direct jump in IDs from my Tumblr break to when I started being active again in 2020.

Anyway, I highly recommend you don't do this because you're inviting back into your life all the energy you managed to block before, but I did save twelve (12) asks that are mostly old convos with friends from the proto days. Why the fuck do you work like this Tumblr. Seriously.

And because it's funny, here's the oldest of the busted asks I was talking about, URL blocked out for privacy, but as you can guess, I was the one who sent the initial message, but instead it listed the receiver as the sender and an anonymous as the answerer

Special Agent Lovejoy dispatched the cleanup squad, headed by myself, as soon as the impact site could be confirmed. Transit took approx. 10 minutes, and confirmation of extraterrestrial origin was made upon arrival. Standard cleanup discretionary procedures were followed. Evidence gathering and scrubbing was nonstandard, as the vessel had mostly disintegrated by unknown means before our arrival. By the time equipment was readied, what remained was a smoldering pile of ash. Said ash was collected, along with any remaining intact fragments, and placed with lot Alpha. I have taken it upon myself to further investigate this lead, as Lovejoy has indicated that it will likely be a low-risk investigation. NAME: Murphy Leilani Nye SEX: F DOB: 11/16/1998 ADDRESS: N/A [Request followup]Murphy Nye is a 21 year old female suspected of being a possible source of the latest photo leaks of the National Lab for Unquantizable Physics (NLUP). Nye was found by security guards near the outer fence on the south side at 09:00 this morning. She was unresponsive to most questions and “very confrontational” to security forces. Nye was convinced to leave the premises under threat of legal action. Upon further investigation, several automatic cameras were found in the area, hidden between rocks and within plantlife. Said cameras were removed and confiscated by E.L.I. operatives. Nye has little information available, indicating she may be more than a run-of-the-mill conspiracy theorist. She has essentially scrubbed herself off of the internet and has no current listed address. Her previous address, [redacted] Tacoma, WA belongs to her parents who reportedly have not seen her since [redacted]. Though there is little concern over Nye’s leaks being an issue going forward, we have advised the KWTF studios to refuse further submissions from her to their radio show as she could cause a disturbance. There was also an attempt to take down Nye’s blog, but it has since been restored with further protections.

Personal note by the author: Though Agent L. is unconcerned with Nye, I can imagine her becoming a problem in the future. As such, I am classifying her as a B class risk. End report.

a non exhaustive list of things i love about tumblr that have made it the only Usable Social Media(tm), as someone who follows the maximum amount (5000) of people and has seen it All:

-the tags. every othere sm requires tags to be uninterrupted, no spaces phrases and you can write full fucking novels in the tags on tumblr. this created a completely new ecosystem for how conversations and posts are structured on here. ppl post screenshots of tags, mention previous tags, encourage other people's writing and art in the tags, all while avoiding cluttering the original post's text with every reblog when you want to comment. you can make hushed commentary that sometimes gets noticed and adds a lot to posts when its picked up on!

-the ask system. we used to have fan mail on this site a few years ago but i don't know that it was as successful, so the ask and submissions system became the main way to go. its not as common to have themed ask blogs anymore (like "ask rainbow dash" where people draw responses, i've had a few of these kinds of blogs in the past) but it really allows people to acknowledge each other, get questions answered, and interact in a way i think is really missing from the internet in the late 2020s. its abused sometimes and anon hate still shows up on this site, but i think the culture has changed noticeably in that this kind of hate is brushed off more easily in most cases.

-the longevity of posts and how everything is archived. its so much easier to find old posts on tumblr than other places and you can sort archives of people's blogs based on a lot of different types, like photos only or text only, years posted, etc. really cool especially for looking back on your blog through the years and in the age of the New Posts Only its really refreshing to be able to revisit old posts. I see posts on here that show up from 2012 and its such a pleasant surprise since so much of the internet is being overwritten

- the absurdly customizeable color palettes and appearances of the site. its so customizeable and even though desktop blog sites aren't as common of a way to interact anymore (i miss them rip blogs with no desktop versions) you can literally edit the css and html and show your own personal aesthetics as much as you want to.

-the april fool's day rebrands

-the art is so good and photosets allow for longform posts which i never see ANYWHERE else on social media. you can post like up to 30 images in a photo set i think??? which was increased from i think max 10 and its all consecutive. also that we have a read more button to give people the option to choose to open long posts or not.

-the id system. i've seen a lot of people id posts and make posts more accessible. also people providing trigger warnings which you don't get other places tbh like i've never seen anywhere online where you could straight up choose what you didn't want to see so you don't have to encounter it in the wild! its really nice especially for someone like me who has several phobias lol

i could keep going but like.....i love you tumblr as someone who has been here for literally over a decade.

Today on Outnumbered, she said the following about a story revolving around--prepare yourselves, this might be the scandal that brings Biden down--the President wearing sneakers:

Well I made a joke last night on Hannity, those shoes, my father will be 87 in a week, and to a man of that generation wearing those shoes, particularly as commander in chief in public, when you're going on, this is formal business -- that's the equivalent of wearing your bedroom slippers outside. That's like wearing a speedo and flip-flops to a funeral. So these elitist snobs in the White House are blithely lying to the American people over and over again because they think we're stupid, and we're not. We've cared for elderly parents and relatives and we can look at this man and see what's going on. We know dementia, we know age, we know Alzheimer's when we see it. And we look at Joe Biden and think, we would not let him drive our car in an empty church parking lot. We know what's happening with him. It's sad, but distressing. 

First off, you have to admire the audacity of somebody to call others snobs while she is saying it's possible a person has a serious mental condition because of their choice in foot wear. Among them that the DNC must be really scared of him because Joe Biden hasn't agreed to debate him yet--never mind that in 2020 Donald Trump not only never debated either Bill Weld, Mark Sanford, or Joe Walsh, but state Republican primaries even cancelled primaries specifically to prevent either of those candidates from getting a foothold within the party.

Now fourteen percent is not nothing, especially when you're a primary challenger to an incumbent President. However, after two straight years of Biden bashing by the mainstream media along with the perpetual push to make RFK Jr. into something other than a waste of everyone's time, the odds of RFK Jr. doing any better are rather unlikely. For reference, fourteen percent is about the percent of votes gotten by Newt Gingrich in 2012, John Anderson in 1980, George Wallace in 1976, and Al Gore in 1988. Hardly the battle similar to that Ford and Reagan had for the Republican Nomination back in 1976, fuck it's not even the fight Jimmy Carter and Ted Kennedy had back in 1980 or the fight George Bush and Pat Buchanan had back in 1992.

I think the headline "Florida Schools Will Teach How Slavery Brought ‘Personal Benefit’ to Black People" from The Daily Beast sums this story up perfectly. Victoria Grove - a website I built to serve as a hub of information for CATS fans. It includes summarized information for new fans, character profiles, lyrics, links to any 90s/early 2000s fansites that are still up, archived images from fansites that are no longer regularly accessible, games, a forum, and my personal favorite pet project: a section covering the history of the original Broadway run.

The Broadway Mega Edit - A project to compile all available footage of the original Broadway production into one video. Any sections of the musical where no video exists has been replaced with photos and audio. This is outdated as footage that was lost at the time of making it has since resurfaced but I have no idea when I'll be able to make a new version. If you have any information on a full Broadway bootleg from 1982-2000 please contact me.

@catsnonreplica - a blog cataloguing all nonreplicas of CATS that I could find at the time. I'm too busy to research and post there anymore however I accept submissions if anyone wishes to add a nonreplica that hasn't been catalogued.

Your submission can include anything (within the lines of our boundaries) that sounds fun to you! Bird's spread includes a short bit about something unique influencing their journey, a story time, and their method. Want to spend 250 words on your first shifting story? This is the last week for our weekly assignments before we start working on our final submissions. This week we have to make a model for 3d printing.

As studying game arts, I'd like to create something related to games. So, I chose to make a Nintendo Switch.
