@stuffireadandenjoy @snootlestheangel @alypink @catterdraws @justasmolbard it's done!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I came across with a post about how to properly draw an asian character, and it was really interesting to see everything, also is a good lesson. So I thought about how colombians are pictured around the world, and is sure to say that certain people has marked the perception of us. I love how many people recognize people like Shakira or Gabriel García Márquez (I love this man books 💕), but unfortunately Escobar is also recognizable.
I don't know. Maybe no one will use this or maybe someone will, but here are some tips to write a colombian character. Remember this is my experience, and it still limited to what I've known all my life. I might have something wrong.
-First things first. The accent! I know that probably you have heard the accent used for some series or maybe you heard Shakira's accent. But those aren't the only ones in Colombia, actually those are really specific.
We have regions, and the accents change from one to another and from a city to another! The most known is from Medellín (we call them paisas) and it is stronger than others from the same department. For example I have a friend that travels a lot to that part of the country, and she says that outside Medellín the accent is somehow softer.
And from the Caribbean region, the accent is (from what I've heard) quicker and they speak louder, as far as I know is because of the heat and a physics matter. I only have traveled to Cartagena once, but is a big difference between their accent and mine, I can assure you that. Also, unfortunately I haven't visited many places, so I can't say for sure about other regions, for example I have no idea how the accents change on the Pacific region or the Orinoquia.
But I can speak a bit more about the Andean region. I'm from Bogotá and I sound weird sometimes, but if someone tells you that in Bogotá we don't have accent, that's bullshit. We do have an accent and it varies from a part of the city to another, I don't know how to describe it.
When you are in the north, it sounds like they are eating something while they speak (my mom compared it with a hot potato). And in some parts of the south, some people speak with many words impossible to traduce to english and it sounds like they are going to start a fight.
-Next, the skin color. It's usual to think, even among colombians, that a skin tone is unique for a region, but in reality there isn't a specific tone. There are afro-descendants, indigineous people, half-blood, and white people. Many skin colors can be present in a same family, again the example case is my own family.
I'm white as well as cousin but my uncle is black, and my grandma, she has brown skin. All of us are related by blood, but our skin is really different. As far I have investigated and seen, the most common tone is brown, and is really usual to see black/brown hair and brown eyes (red or blonde is rare, also are blue and green eyes).
And our height is a big comparison too! While my dad is 6', his mom is 5'3, his brother is 6'2 and his father was 5'4 (I'm 5'6 btw).
Something I really hate to admit, but that gives more information about my own country, is that even after all this time and the change of decades, many people continue being racist unconsciously. Across the country is usual that the mother tell the daughter to marry a white guy, but I'll be usual to discourage a marrriage or a relationship with a black person. (My experience, when I introduced one of my best friends that born in Chocó Pacific region, my family thought he was my boyfriend and wanted me to broke up with him.)
-About people, we are religious in many levels and most of the kids are raised catholic, not necessarily nuns schools, but religion is really important in most schools. It's normal to see many grandmas doing the rosary while making the lunch and many grandpas going to mass during sundays. And so, it's usual to use expressions such as "Ave María Purísima!" when you are surprised or "calle la boca que Cristo escucha" when someone says something weird and "Dios me lo bendiga, mijo" if you are grateful for something.
Also across downtown Bogotá there are many churches, a cathedral on the main square, churches near many neighborhoods and a church on top of the Eastern hills (Monserrate to be specific). Personally I'm not very religious, but during part of my childhood I was dragged to mass, because of homework and now I just memorized part of the service.
Some universities are also religious, or at least managed by an archidiocese. The one I attend is laic, but one of my professors also teaches on one that is religiously managed and he told us that they asked him to keep some...topics outside the pensum.
-There are some expressions apart of the ones above that are only colombian, even some are from only one region or city. I'll write and try to explain some of them.
"No dé papaya, hermano...": This one is used mostly when you have a valuable item (cellphone, jewelery or your wallet) outside without a care in the world. Unfortunately is awfully common to get robbed, so if you "das papaya" is like let yourself get robbed basically.
"Este chino es juicioso, tranquilo": In Colombia, "juicioso" means be responsible, respectful and kind. More or less. To be honest, is difficult to explain, so I'll write as I interprete it.
"Uy no, ya paila": This one is used when someone is beyond reparation or fixing. For example when you made a big mistake and there's no way to solve it, also when something is broken and you can't repair it.
"El man es un bacán": When someone is really cool and fun to be around.
"El que busca encuentra": Is the equivalent of "fuck around and find out".
"Se le corrió el shampoo": We use it when some is acting weird, or acting differently from how they usually act. My mom uses it often with my dad, he is a bit childish and well, there it goes.
"Mande al chino": It's to send the child to do something. Here we call "chino" to a kid.
"No me abra los ojos que no le voy a echar gotas": The moms use this one, mostly when a kid is getting scolded and they open their eyes in surprise or disgust. But also it's used to warn a kid that the are misbeheaving.
"Son como uña y mugre": It's when someone is so close with other person (family or not) that they do almost everything together, and know eachother perfectly. They can know eachother from a long time, at least that's my case.
"Ay sí, no jodas...": You use this one when you don't believe something that someone tells you.
"Ese man es más abeja": This is when a person is cunning or sly, and it can be said in a good or a bad way.
"Este es como los burros cuando les echan flores": When someone got praised, but a moments after they do something stupid.
"Va pal' cielo y va llorando": This one is about someone that has everything, or that thir life is going right, and keeps complaining about little things.
-Our geography is variated and some of us are used to some aspects of it. For example people that live near the coast are way more used to the heat, but people from the center mostly can't stand heat (my case). And on the other hand, the people of the center are used to the altitude and the steepness of the road (fucking downtown streets), and I've seen that, during the first year of a classmate from Guaviare, it was difficult to get used to the altitude.
The weather are really different from place to place, humid, dry and more. In Cartagena is a dry heat (I think) and in Bogotá is usually cold and foggy, but it can change in a minute. During january to june are the hottest months and during august to december are the coldest ones.
In Bogotá can be raining hard (an aguacero as we call them) and five minutes later can be doing a hellish heat. Personally I prefer the rain and the cold that the heat, but the sun is appreciated from day to day.
Also, the road trips can be from two hours (Bogotá-Ubaté) to almost two days aprox. (Leticia-Riohacha)
-Music! I love the music and many people also does! And if I can think of something that always make me laugh are the songs tipical from december!
Here are many songs that we hear for the holidays (the radio stations usually start to put them since september because...tradition), some of them we know them so good that we identify them just with the rythm. I can think of many but the names just don't appear, but the ones I'll never forget are:
Adonay by Rodolfo Aicardi (*muttering* Adonay, ¿por qué te casaste, Adonay?)
Cariñito by Rodolfo Aicardi (dancing this one with my grandpa. Do I know how to dance? No, but I don't give a fuck, it still a beautiful memory :"3)
Daniela by Rodolfo Aicardi (now that I think about it...the rythm is great but the story is fucked up xd)
El hijo ausente by Pastor López (this one hits worst when you're far from home even if you only are outside your city)
Cinco pa' las doce by Néstor Zavarce (like it's title says, it's always on the speakers when is 11:55 pm)
And some that are obligatory in my house during christmas and New Years!
En Barranquilla me quedo by Joe Arroyo
Rebelión by Joe Arroyo
Oiga, Mire, Vea by Orquesta Guayacán
Niégame Tres Veces by Silvestre Dangond (For some reason, a cousin is always going through a break up during holidays and always sings this one drinking aguardiente and also he puts El Venao'. I wonder why... /s)
Ella es mi fiesta by Carlos Vives (THAT is when I start singing without shame and my cousin /my favorite\ joins me)
For now is everything, but if something else comes to mind, I'll edit this! And if another person thinks I left something outside, feel free to add it! I want to see other perspectives about the country!
And please, people that has seen Narcos, for God's sake, stop thinking that all the colombians sound like we came from Antioquia. If I hear another person ask me to say "'mor", I'm going to fight that person, I swear.

From the prompt post you reblogged — 15 & Javi P.
Safe travels!
Thank you for this, and sorry you had to wait! I am, after all, on vacation/conference on Iceland, but I needed an evening to myself and the brain rot that is Javi, our favourite troubled DEA Daddy!
15. “I can’t get enough of you.” with Javier Peña x you/reader
Warnings: Sexy stuff, a bit of exhibitionism, nothing too kinky.
The humid heat has finally given in to the refreshing cool of the night, and you turn off the ac and open the windows to the nighttime sounds of the street below. With a deep, satisfied sigh, you lean onto the windowsill and gaze out over the street with its vendors packing up for the day, and the cafetera with colored light strings. You draw a deep breath of Bogotà night air, filled with the rich scents of food, flowers, cigar smoke from the old men having drinks in the cafe. The breeze caresses your naked skin and you welcome it, cherish the natural gentleness of it compared to the harsh blow of the air conditioning unit.
The familiar sound of a lighter being flicked is followed by a drag so greedy you swear you can hear the paper burn.
"Get away from there before someone sees you."
You turn your head to the bed and look at Javi leaning against the headboard, cigarette in a tweezer hold between the tips of his thumb and forefinger. His dark gaze is fixed on you, mostly on your ass that's sticking out as you're leaning against the windowsill.
"I'm good here," you shrug. Your apartment is on the top floor and the window high enough to not reveal all of you to any passers-by who might look up. You want to enjoy the breeze and, more importantly, the sensuality of standing naked by a window in Bogotá at night, your lover resting in your bed while having a post-coital cigarette and eye-fucking you like he didn't just rock your world twice in a row. Not even the AC that has been running all night up until now could eradicate the smell of sex and semen that lays heavy in the room.
You turn your attention back outside and hear the bedding rustle as Javi gets up. His heavy steps take him to you, and with the cigarette perched between his lips he cups your ass, molding his palms to your soft buttocks. He only lets one hand go to take the cigarette and flick it out through the open window, before pressing himself up against you.
He's hard again, his sticky cock rising from its nest of pubic hair messed up by your juices, and resting against the cleft between your buttocks. You didn't think it was possible, but your brain drops between your legs as you draw a stuttering breath.
"Again?" you breathe. The cigarette smoke invades your nostrils as Javi leans closer and whispers in your ear:
"I can't get enough of you."
You mean to turn around but he stops you with his hands on your shoulders.
"You're good here," he tells you, echoing your words from only minutes before. One hand slides down your back, his fingers trailing your butt crack before grabbing his cock and leading it into you. You whine as he fills you to the hilt, and he kisses your shoulder as his hand closes over your mouth.
"Just stay quiet, princesa, and we'll be okay."

RECIPE: Pesto alla Trapanese (from Pizza Czar by Anthony Falco)
Trapanese pesto originates from the western Sicilian province of Trapani. Like the iconic Ligurian version, it features basil, but Trapanese pesto uses almonds (instead of pine nuts) and tomatoes. It’s Sicilian, so there are breadcrumbs and really nice olive oil too. This recipe originated out of a collaboration with my friend Paul Cavalcante, a talented Italian chef I worked with in Staten Island. It was Paul’s idea to do a vegan Trapanese pesto pie. We were shooting from the hip, throwing things in a blender, and after the third version, we knew we had something. A local who tried it said it was the best vegan pizza she’d ever had, which is when my job seems like it’s the coolest thing in the world. Just toss some al dente noodles in a saucepan with a little pasta water and at the last minute, throw in the pesto.
Makes 1 quart (about 1 liter)
250 grams (about 8 ounces) unsalted almonds, toasted
500 grams (about 1 pound) cherry tomatoes
100 grams (about 3½ ounces) canned whole peeled tomatoes (preferably Bianco DiNapoli), drained
60 grams (about 2 ounces) basil leaves
3 grams (1 tablespoon) mint leaves
15 grams garlic (about 5 cloves), peeled
8 grams (1 teaspoon) sea salt
175 grams (¾ cup) extra-virgin olive oil
Combine the almonds, cherry tomatoes, canned tomatoes, basil, mint, garlic, and salt in a blender or food processor and blend until the nuts are pea-sized.
Continue to blend while slowly incorporating the olive oil until the paste is emulsified but not completely smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning, transfer to a container, and refrigerate until ready to use (no more than 3 to 5 days).

God, he was everything she did not need right now. He was complex, messy, and connected to a dangerous job that put her at risk just as much as it did him these days. Javi always was dancing with death no matter how much he protested he wasn’t, too, and his history with this place ran deeper than just his occupation; Javier Peña knew nearly every brothel, every stripper, every prostitute—hell, maybe even every waitress in Colombia as far as she knew. He was too much, not something she wanted to fill her time because he brought so much uncertainty, but when he kissed her like this—rough and determined—she could not deny him. Never had been able to, not since that night she had met him in that dingy little bar in Bogotá.
Javi places his hand on her leg, beginning to calculate his movements. His brown eyes watch her features with priority as his fingers dance lightly on the inside of her thigh. She stares back at him, her own brown orbs pleading with him—though she’s not sure what battle she’s asking him to release her from. Her head tips back as his fingers dip beneath her dress, and she widens her legs, permitting him the access he’d hoped she would.
“Don’t—“ she gasps as his fingers slide into her underwear. Eyes train onto his, and she begins again, “Don’t come back here again after Javi. I mean it.”
His fingers, at once eager to begin pleasing her, stop. “Say you don’t mean it, baby.”
She remains silent. This is a game to him, something he thinks he’s going to win because she’s let him every other night.
“No,” she responds. She tugs at his wrist, taking his hand away from her underwear. He looks at her, shocked (and perhaps a little wounded, too, but she can’t tell for sure).
“Are you mad at me?”
“Javi.”
Javier reaches for her cigarettes on the coffee table, stealing one for himself as he leans back into the couch. “I’m sorry I keep coming back but I—“ He lets out a billow of smoke from the side of his mouth. “—fuck, I don’t know, sometimes I miss you when I’m gone too long.”
She reaches forward, taking the lightened cigarette from his mouth. Taking a drag from it, she tries to register the impact of those words. He hadn’t ever been so brave as to mutter words of affection at her before. They’d taken this too far already, it seems.
“You miss sex with me. You can’t miss me because you hardly even know me, Javi.”
“Don’t be so unkind, baby.” He scoffs, taking the cigarette back from her. “It doesn’t suit you, pretending like you don’t care.”
“I’m not pretending I don’t care, I’m just telling you I can’t afford to anymore.”
He shakes his head. Silence falls over them, uncomfortable and tense, and she lets it, hoping one of them will tell the other that this was it, they’d part ways now, but neither of them does. They just sit, staring blankly at the flickering tv set in front of them. Javi finishes the cigarette.
He moves towards her again after he’s stamped the cigarette out, lips pressing onto her neck gently. When he notices that she doesn’t protest, he repositions himself on the couch, letting his body face towards her. His hand gropes her though the fabric of her dress and she moans delightfully against his lips as they fall onto hers.
She’s not letting him win this one, this is hers just as much as his, this is just pleasure—whatever she has to say to get her through the fucking night for this one, she will.
She allows him to direct her body to lay down on the couch, and continues to kiss her, hard and passionate, as his fingers travel between their bodies. She gasps into his lips and he lets out a soft chuckle as he undoes his belt. She feels the cold buckle hit her thigh and she wraps her legs around his waist, urging him to not tease.
“Tranquilo.” He speaks. Rough digits run down her curves and she presses her pelvis upwards, rolling her hips into his in a way that makes him unravel the way he’s begun to make her to. “Forget spanish, huh?”
Javi presses a few more kisses against her exposed chest before pulling back. Before he works to undo his own jeans, he allows his eyes to take her in. The room barely holds any real light, aside from the soft flicker of the television and the dim light of a lamp in the corner of the room, but it illuminates every part of her that he adores. She’s beautiful, ravishingly, and he can’t stop thinking about her, no matter how much they would both benefit from that.
“Javier, please.” She lifts herself up by her elbows, a scowl on her face. She wasn’t ever this impatient, but something in her feared that if she thought too much about sleeping with him this time she wouldn’t.
He lets her begin taking off his jeans, laughing at her urgency before she brings his hardened member to her lips unexpectedly. He twitches because of the sudden sensation of her flesh against his like this, and a soft moan falls from his lips as his hands work to pull her hair back from her face. His eyes peer down at her and he swears that if she flutters her eyelashes up at him, it’ll be the end of this encounter.
“Let me take off my pants, baby,” he manages to say, despite that his entire body wants nothing more for her to continue. She releases him from her mouth and wipes the slickness she’s created from her lips.
He begins to perform at her pace, taking his pants off with urgency and pushing her to lay flat on her back. His hands lift the skirt of her dress and his fingers tug her underwear. When she lifts her hips to assist him in taking the garment off, his mouth finds her clit and she gasps as he had when she put her mouth on him. One hand focuses on keeping her hips down as he licks at her core and the other finishes taking off her underwear.
His eyes lift to meet hers, but he’s delighted to find not her gaze, but a portrait of pure ecstasy before him; her head is thrown back and her lips part slightly, soft moans escaping. A red tint has begun to form on her cheeks and he can’t help but think about how wrong she is about him not knowing her. He knows this, knows the curves of her body, the way she likes him to press his tongue against her, knows that red tint means he’s on the edge of bringing her to orgasm. He continues to suck her clit with intent, watching her features in the soft light for guidance, and he feels the heavy blanket of his own lust hit him as she writhes beneath him. When she says his name—Javier—sweet and sharp and meaningful, it takes everything in him not to stop and tell her he loves her.
When he knows she’s overstimulated from the pressure of his tongue (another thing he just knows now), he rises from his position between her legs and he wipes her off of him. His cock is hard and throbbing between his legs and he is quick to fill the spot again, hovering over her. She puts her legs around him again and he squeezes her thighs gently so she’ll release him.
“I’ve gotta get a condom,” he reminds and she nods, letting him go. He shuffles to his discard jeans and pulls one out. An expert at this, he’s quick to take it out of the package and wrap it around his member, returning in between her legs as if he’d never left. He lifts them back around his waist like they were before and he leans in to kiss her as he positions himself before her entrance. To his surprise, she uses the position to her advantage and she wraps an arm around his neck for leverage while she pushes him into her. He cannot help the moan that escapes him when she does this.
“Fuck, baby,” he whispers, fingers digging into her hips. He’s yet to move inside of her, focusing on not cumming just yet. She feels so good and she looks so good, and God he doesn’t ever want this to end.
“Move inside of me,” she tries to instruct, but it comes out as more of a plea. He’s happy to comply after a bit though, sliding out of her tantalizing slow and returning with a speed that makes her gasp. He begins to find a steady pace, soft moans escaping his lips as he focuses on her.
“You feel so good,” he tells her. His fingers reach up to squeeze her breast, and he’s angry with himself for not taking off her dress. He loves how she looks now, but he wants to see all of her. He didn’t want this to be the last time. It couldn’t be.
“Marry me.”
Eyes, which have been watching him thrust in and out of her, rise to meet his. He leans down again and presses a kiss onto her lips, though this one is more gentle. His hips continue to thrust forward, uncaring of the intensity of the words that just had split from his mouth—and perhaps even encouraged by them. “I want you, baby. I want you, I want you, I want you.”
She says nothing, but lifts her hips to match his thrusts. It’s not long before he ejaculates inside of her and his tired body leans into hers after he rides out his high. She lets him, smoothing back his hair.
His chest rises and falls quickly for a bit, before tapering off to normality, and when he catches his breath, he looks up at her.
“Are you gonna do it?”
“What?” she asks.
“Marry me?”
“Javier, maybe you should get out of me before we talk about that. I don’t think you—“
“I do know,” he responds, pulling himself out of her, though not taking his body away from hers. “I know exactly what I said and what it means and it’s what I want.”
She sighs. This wasn’t fair of him. She didn’t want him, she didn’t want this, but she very much did. Her body, her soul—every part of her that didn’t listen to reason wanted him in her bed forever.
“Are you even allowed in Catholic churches?” she smiles at him.
“Are you?” he teases back.
She shakes her head. “Probably not.”
“Well.” He shrugs. He won’t say, won’t try to push it out of her, but his eyes beg with her to give him an answer.
She smiles. “I’ll marry you.”
She will too, even though he’s dangerous. Even though he’s complex. Even though her mind tells her not to because it's not going to end good.
She will because there’s no other place in the world she wants to be than right here, pressed against him like this.

Week 5 - 5.1 How I tried to learn other languages.
Tumblr media
Languages are something that passionates me a lot and I make big efforts when I’m learning a new one. This time, I’m going to talk about how I tried to learn Japanese and why I’m not doing it anymore.
Some years ago I was trying to learn German, Serbian, Romanian and Japanese, all by myself and all at the sime time because for me leraning a new language by myself is really easy even though it takes a lot of time. Japanese caught my attention really fast because I knew one metal band from Japan called Versailles and I felt in love immediatley not only with the music but also with the language, so after a few months listening a lot of music in Japanese, I decided to start studying it.
First, I found a blog when they were trying to teach Japanese and I’ve learnt the very basic stuff with that blog. It was really hard to find a good web page that teaches from Spanish to Japanese but with the time I found some and everyday I studied the language by using just a notebook and a pencil. I learnt the sillabaries (hiragana and katakana), some kanjis (which are really hard to learn and understand) and some basic grammar to have a basic conversation. I also learnt the pronounciation but that was really easy because is almost the same as Spanish pronounciation. Besides, I learn’t a lot about the Japanese culture that is very interesting and sometimes a little hard to follow.
I stopped studying because I entered to the University in Bogotá and didn’t have enough time to keep learning. Japanese is a very easy language since grammar is very simple. I think what you really have to practice is writing ad listening because they sepak really fast!! However, I still have my notebooks and a really good grammar book I fund here on Tublr and sometimes I read them.
Finally, I would like to give you some tips on how to learn a language by yourself that hopefully could work:
1. Set a time to study: the first thing you have to manage is the time. Set a schedule that works for you and obey it. I recommen 2 hours daily.
2. Find good sources: don’t learn by using the first web page you find, but try to search more and more until you find one you think is complete and most important, easy for you to understand.
3. Get a dictionary: Wordreference is a good one since it has a lot of languages and it doesn’t give you the meaning of a word, but also examples, idioms and the phonetic translation to make easier the pronounciation.
4. Keep a journal on your target language: I don’t mean the kind of journal like “dear diary, today I saw the guy I like...” not like this. With a few sentences you write about what you did or what you felt that day, it’s ok. This will help you to practice grammar, vocabulary and writing in general.
5. Sorround yourself with your target language: listen to music, watch movies, documentaries, read books... everything you can. Make your target language something daily, make it part of your life.
6. Motivate yourself: sometimes you can loose the motivation you had at the beginning because you realize the language is difficult o you feel you’re not learning. Remember that learning a language requires time, practice and patience so don’t give up! Remeber why you started: do you want to travel to that country? Work there? Or even live there? Study hard!
7. Join the studyblr community: here in Tumblr you’ll fiind a lot of students who create a Tumblr account to share how they study, their progress, their notes, some study tips and a lot of good sources that might help you. That’s what they call “studyblr”. In the search bar type that and you’ll find tons of blogs and you can follow the ones you’re interested in. Trust me, it helps A LOT.
8. PRACTICE EVERY FREAKING DAY!!
By now, my target languages are: Japanese (of course), Serbian, Rumanian, Russian and German. Don’t ask me why, if I could, I would learn all the languages in the world.

RECIPE: Pepperoni and pickled chile pizza (from Pizza Czar by Anthony Falco)
Pepperoni pizza is arguably the modern American classic. To me, this is the new classic. As you may have already read here, I didn’t grow up eating pepperoni, but I was raised eating lots of pickled chiles. To me, it’s about the combination. Pepperoni is great, but it can be just one note and, frankly, boring solo, even the best stuff. In my mind, you have to add jalapeños.
Makes 1 (13-inch/33-cm) pizza
1 (250-g) Thin & Crispy dough ball (Anthony’s recipe can be found in Pizza Czar, pg. 63) 56 grams (¼ cup) Basic Tomato Sauce (Anthony’s recipe can be found in Pizza Czar, pg. 52) 55 grams (about 2 ounces) low-moisture mozzarella, shredded 60 grams (about 2 ounces) pepperoni, sliced (about 25 pieces) 30 grams (about 1 ounce) Pickled Chiles 25 grams (about 1 ounce) Pecorino-Romano, finely grated Pinch dried wild Sicilian oregano, stems removed
1. Preheat the oven with pizza stones to your oven’s highest temperature setting (usually 550°F/288°C).
2. Stretch out the dough
3. Using a 2-ounce (60-ml) ladle or a large spoon, spread the sauce evenly on the dough starting from the inside out, leaving 1 inch (2½ cm) around the dough’s circumference for the crust.
4. Distribute the mozzarella evenly onto the sauce.
5. Place the pepperoni evenly on the pizza, starting from the outside in. Remember: Pepperoni migration is unavoidable! Don’t be surprised postbake if they aren’t where you left them.
6. Bake the pizza directly on the pizza stone for 5½ minutes, or until the crust is nicely browned, checking the bottom and rotating it halfway through for an evenly colored crust.
7. Cut the pizza into 6 slices and top with the pickled chiles and Pecorino-Romano. Sprinkle with oregano.

Travel to Colombia: How Much Money is needed?
Tumblr media
Are you thinking of traveling to Colombia? Enjoy its beautiful landscapes, its streets full of color, the friendliness of its people and its deep-rooted traditions... Do you think you can travel cheaply to Colombia? How much money do you need to prepare for your trip? Also, is there a lot to see in Colombia?
Travel to Colombia and enjoy its wealth
It is a country well known for its coffee plantations. In fact, one of the biggest attractions for tourists in Colombia is usually the famous "coffee route". However, there is much more to see in Colombia besides good coffee. The richness of its wild nature, its beautiful landscapes, all this makes Colombia a beautiful place to visit and even to stay and live. You will enjoy legendary cities like Medellín or Bogotá. Cartagena de Indias also deserves a visit on your itinerary, the colorful streets will flood you and you will be impregnated with the happiness that you breathe on a trip to Colombia.
Tumblr media
Colombia is a destination that, no matter how much you talk, you can never truly know until you get there. Because it is a country to enjoy, to feel alive and to rest at certain times.
How to get to Colombia
To make a trip to Colombia, you can do it through the three most used means of transport to reach the country and also the most famous in the world. Colombia by plane: There is a national line that also operates internationally called Avianca. There are also others that may be a good option. From Europe, you can take about 10 or 16 hours. From some countries in South America from 4 to 8 hours arriving in the capital of Colombia, Bogotá. Colombia by car: There is only one connection between Colombia and Venezuela and another between Colombia and Ecuador. From other ports, cars must be transported by boat. Colombia by boat: It is not too common for passengers, it is usually more to transport loads. However, lately, the entry of cruise ships to Colombia has increased considerably.
Colombia Currency
The official Colombian currency is the Colombian peso or (COP). Contrary to what is commonly seen, some designs of their tickets are made vertically, which usually attracts the attention of tourists. You will wonder how much 1 Colombian peso is worth when you change your currency, but it is something that is constantly changing. The most current page to make the currency exchange is XE. Colombian Peso Exchange  - Euro : 1 EUR = 3,774 COP Colombian Peso - Dollar Exchange  : 1 USD = 3,435 COP
How to find cheap flights to Colombia
To travel to Colombia, the first thing you should do is find cheap tickets to Colombia. It depends on where you live you can find flights at a cheaper price than others. Ideally, carry out a previous investigation and book a couple of months in advance whenever we have looked at the prices of each airline, the best months to travel, the low seasons, etc. For this, you can help yourself with express tools for it like Skyscanner. Keep in mind that most flights connect with Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. Therefore, do not forget to have your itinerary well closed to be able to calculate the total budget with the means of transport you use to move between the different cities of Colombia.
Tumblr media
Hotels in Colombia
As in any destination, hotel prices will vary according to their quality and location. For example, there are hotels in Bogotá where you can find cheap rooms ranging from € 9 ($10) per night with breakfast included. A price that is not negligible for which it is certainly worth thinking about visiting the country. There are also options to rent an entire apartment. Here the options are also the most economical. We can find them from € 10.50 ($12) a night and have more rooms and options for a pleasant stay in Colombia If we opt for higher quality accommodation in Colombia, we can find five-star hotels, the highest quality, for only € 56 ($62) per night. Compared to other destinations in the world, this price is the most attractive for cheap travel to Colombia.
How much Colombian food is worth
Colombian cuisine offers a variety of delicious dishes. Arepas, sancochos, ceviche... Just thinking about it already makes our mouths water. As in all of the above, it all depends on the quality you demand as well as what you are willing to pay. A menu in a hamburger shop can be found for about 18,000 Colombian pesos or € 6 euros (7 USD). A Colombian food restaurant has an average price of 20,000 pesos or € 6.5 ($7.5) for both lunch and dinner. The sancocho, the typical Colombian food, you can also taste for 20,000 pesos or € 6.5 euros ($7.5). If you want to drink something, a beer in any bar will cost you about 3,000 Colombian pesos, € 0.80 ($1) cents. As a curiosity, it is the same price as coffee, the flagship drink of Colombia.
Tumblr media
Transportation price if you are traveling to Colombia
There is much to do in Colombia, and to know as much as possible we must take into account the price and how to move to Colombia. There are several means of transport and their prices are not exorbitant. Taxi:  The normal rate of the taxi in Colombia per kilometer is 4,800 pesos or € 1.27 euros (1.39 USD) and the service starts at 4,700 pesos or € 1.24 euros (1.35 USD). Bus:  The monthly public transport pass is 100,000 pesos or about € 26 euros (28.36 USD). A one-way ticket costs 2,200 pesos or € 0.58 ($0.63) cents and this is an alternative to consider if you plan to travel to Colombia and move on your own. Holidays in Colombia are an excellent option if you have a low budget. The most expensive flights on this type of trip are flights to Colombia. However, taking stock of the cost of the flight to another destination and the price of living there, without a doubt, the coffee country is an excellent option to consider. If you would like to collaborate by adding more tips to travel to Colombia, add yours to the comments below. Read the full article
