To celebrate the end of my social isolation and quarantine week with COVID, here are 6 characters I think would do just fine during a week of isolation and 5 characters that you should be Concerned ™ for:

Survivin’ and Thrivin’:

Chifuyu - We all know this kid loves his manga, and Imma bet he’d love anime too. I could see him binge reading everything he can get his hands on, having an anime marathon, and then watching, like... Transformers. Regardless, he’d be fine.

Pah - Pah seems like an actually pretty chill guy to me. He would probably watch a lot of TV, use an at home gym set if he was feeling well enough, and sleep... a LOT. The one who would really struggle though? Peh. It’s the end of day 4, and Peh is throwing rocks at Pah’s window, blasting music from a boom box, and apologizing for what? He doesn’t know, he just wants Pah to come back out and play. “I’m not mad, you idiot! I’m sick!” “Sick of me?! I’m sorry!” “NO!!!”

Koko - Honestly, his life does not change much. The only difference he notes is that people are finally leaving him the fuck alone, and he’s actually able to get some work done without someone barging in every few minutes. Inui, come get your man and give him some Vitamin D. He needs to be out in the sun with some fresh air. 

Takemitchy - I don’t remember how long he was told to stay at home after that first fight took him out, but he was a Good Boy, and stayed home, read manga, worked on puzzles.. he was doing all the beginning of COVID activities before they were ~cool~. He would be fine.

Souya (Angry) - Souya also seems pretty chill to me, and like the kind of person who needs to recharge his social battery. So a week of being at home, trying out new recipes, watching TV, and laying about actually helps him to relax and get pumped up for when he can go back out and beat someone up again.

BAJI - YES, I STAND BY THIS ONE! We know Baji loves watching dramas with his mom. Like every dedicated drama watcher, he has a “to watch” list a mile long, and he and his mom make incredible headway on it. The make or break moment will come on day 3, when Baji is starting to get antsy and hasn’t fully succumbed to the lazy life style. Fortunately at him, the FIRST phone call his mother made when finding out they would both need to stay at home for the next week was not to her job, but actually to the local animal shelter. She begged them to please call if they had any animals come in that needed extra attention, or better yet, an animal that was hurt and needed nursing back to full health. Right as Baji was about to lose it, the call came. A mother cat had just given birth to 7 kittens, and the shelter simply did not have enough people to look after the kittens and the mother, who was not doing too great. Baji immediately took full ownership of the little family’s health, and nursed every kitten and the mother back to health, even cancelling his plans the following week. He didn’t even realize all of the time that was passing between making sure everyone was fed and watching more dramas. :)

Those Who are Ready to Ask Wakui to Put them Out of their Misery Already:

Nahoya (Smiley) - Unlike his brother, Nahoya is not one with the “kicking it home for a few days” type of lifestyle. His ramen recipes have become even more toxically hot - some to the point where he literally lit the bowls on fire just to feel something. He is a danger to himself and those around him, even more so than COVID. Release him. 

Draken - More specifically ~ the Draken that still lives at the Brothel. I could see an older Draken being chill at the shop, but the Draken that still lives at the brothel would mostly snap by the end of day 4. He would need his “bros”... or the women working would need him to go see his “bros”, because even though they all care about each other... he needs to go. Draken is sick of the perfume, they’re sick of his belching, he’s G2G!

Kazutora - Do not leave him at home with only his thoughts and his parents for a full week. Someone will not be making it out alive. My bet is that Baji does him a solid when he gets the call about the kittens, and invites Tora over to help out. Tora is out the window before Baji’s even finished the situation. 

Hanma - Hanma just doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would do well locked in an apartment for a week straight. He might start breaking shit just for something to clean up and do, but then he’d get annoyed because hey! Who was the dumbass that broke all my plates! Oh wait... By the end of day 2 (yeah... 2), he’d be sneaking out to go ride around on his bike. If it’s only him and the open road, no harm no foul, right?

Hina - This girl is a social butterfly. She would be dying to go see Emma or Takemitchy or hell, maybe even Kisaki, she doesn’t fucking care, as long as it’s someone that’s not her parents and not Naoto. She would be great for the first 4 days, don’t get me wrong. She would finish all of her homework, study for upcoming tests, get a head start on projects and papers... and then at 1:37pm on day 5 she would lose her shit. Ngl, I’d love to see her start a fire, a SMALL one, a “harmless” one, just to trigger the apartment fire alarm system so she has an excuse to go out and see people and maybe make a new friend. This girl slapped Mikey the first time she met him, you’re telling me she’s not brimming with GirlBoss chaos? I love to see it. 

BONUS: THE ONE WHO COULD ABSOLUTELY GO EITHER WAY:

*** Emma - If she was able to self isolate away from her family, this girl would thrive. Yes, she is also quite social, but getting a genuine break from cleaning after the slobs in her family who don’t help with shit? Once she starts feeling like a person, she might do some general cleaning and laundry because she feels guilty for not doing anything the past few days (baby girl, it’s fine, you were sick, let the men step up please, you’re not their maid), but then, I would hope that she would eventually let herself relax and pamper the fuck out of herself. Full facial, manicure, pedicure, watching romance movies, planning dates for her and Draken, everything she’s been wanting to do, but has been too busy for. ON THE OTHERHAND... if she had to self isolate and be forced to look after Mikey, her grandpa, and Shinichiro... poor girl wouldn’t even last as long as Hanma, I don’t care that she has the patience of a saint, someone put her out of her misery Kisaki, I swear to god...

i dont know what to write. i dont wanna seem like im not workin gbut i just…. cant do this right now. i had to walk to school today and i wanted to die. i mean realistically thats not truly a bad thing. the walk is like ten minutes and its in Rennes and im lucky to be here and to be able to walk and go to school and breathe clean air and whatnot. but im so tired. so tired. it took my nearly an hour to pick out my clothes today. i decided on a shirt and jeans that dont look good together at all and that are half dry bc the dryer just does not work in this house for some damn reason and its fucking annoying. i did my makeup because i was looking atrocious- my hair was wet because i finally got myself to shower after god knows how long (less than a week i presume - i think i last showered the weekend before this week?) and the lack of shape to my hair and the weird way my face looks after i wake up or shower or do anything made me need to sit down and inevitably still be upset when its over. i dreamt that i saw [redacted #2]. it was another one of those dreams where theres a big storm or tsunami or combination of the two and we all had to huddle in a school building that looks kind of like this one but not really. i was so excited to see her and i almost cried in my dream. but i barely saw her for the rest of the dream, she was off with [redacted #3] and her other friends and not me. i was left behind. they left without me. i’m not mad at her for this because she hasnt done this to me yet but i know she will so i guess im preemptively sad and mad and upset even though i have no reason to be and thats not fair to her. i am at myself and the person in front of me and how she treats me like im stupid and i dont want to be stupid and i know im not stupid but there is nothing i can do. i know that seems dramatic. “nothing i can do.” there is. there probably is. i really hope there is but at the same time i hope there isnt because then its true. i am stupid. i do get my work done or at least the work i know that i need to get done and my grades are fine i have like a 3.67 unweighted which isnt great but not like awful. i know i could do better. i know i could work harder. i have worked harder before but its gone now and shes gone now and im gone now. im gone now. im gone now.

Summary: This takes place after season 4 episode 5 so if you haven’t seen it yet this contains parts of episodes 5 and 6 so spoiler warning. You and Eli have been friends since you moved to the Valley. You have always had a crush on him but were too scared to tell him. After his transformation into Hawk had turned him into an asshole you stopped talking to him. You were still friends with Demetri and Miguel but would excuse yourself if Hawk came around. You are not a part of any dojo but stop in from time to time.

You were having your weekly movie marathon day when your phone started to go off. Sighing as you had just gotten comfortable in your bed ready to push play. Looking over you see Demetri’s caller ID pop up smiling you answer your phone. “Hey Metri what's up you are interrupting my movie day?” you say in a teasing tone. You hear Demetri sigh on the other line before you can ask he says, “ It’s Eli.”. Worry filled your body just cause you don’t talk anymore doesn’t mean you don’t care for him. In a worried but stern tone you ask, “ What happened Demetri? Is he hurt? ”. “Depends on your version of hurt physically not really but mentally is a whole other story.” He responded, this calmed you a bit but he still hasn’t answered your first question repeating you ask, “What happened?”. Sighing he told you how when Eli was getting his tattoo touched up he was ambushed by Cobra Kai and they hacked off his mohawk leaving it a mess. You normally weren’t into getting violent but at that point in time you wanted nothing more than to drop kick those Cobra Kai bitches. Letting out a long breath you ask, ”How is he doing Metri?” “He hasn’t been at practice the last few days so I went over to see him. He’s not doing good Y/N, he said that he was an asshole to our friends, especially to us and that he’s done with karate. I tried to get him to come back to get him back but he’s not listening to me. I even pulled up the Binary Bros Theme Song nothing. I don’t know what else to do.” he let out a shaky breath as he finished talking. After some silence as you processed what had just been said you breathed out and finally answered, “What do you want me to do? I'm most likely the last person he wants to see after the way we ended things.” There’s a quiet laugh on the other line causing your face to contort into a confused expression, “You are probably the only one that could talk some sense into him Y/N. You always have been.” Smiling slightly at what Demetri said you asked, “Is the key still under the flower gnome?” You both laugh at this “Always has been.” Saying your goodbyes you go to get your keys and head for your car.

~20 minutes later~

Demetri had let you know that Eli’s mother was out of town for a business meeting so it was just Eli at home. Finding the key you open the door walking quietly through the house looking for Eli till you find him sitting on the couch downstairs he was wearing a baseball cap and hoodie doing everything he could to hide himself. “Hey” ,you say in a soft tone from the doorway. Barely noticing you he looks up but doesn’t respond. You slowly walk towards him like approaching a frightened animal taking a seat beside him not saying a word. Finally after a couple minutes Eli turns to you, “What are you doing here Y/N?”. You turn your head to look at him, noticing how his gaze wouldn’t meet yours, “Demetri told me what happened. I just wanted to check up on you.” Letting out a huff of air Eli responds not looking up, “ I’m fine so if you don’t mind.” he gestures towards the door. Looking over at him in disbelief, “ Really Eli cause the boy I know and care for has never acted like this, not even on the days where Kyler and his goons were being extra shitty and decided to make your day a living hell. Sure you felt like shit but you got back out there the next day and kept living life. Now you’re just going to sit here and give up on everything you worked for mohawk or no mohawk you are still the Eli I love. Now I will leave if that’s what you want but just think about what I said.” letting out a shaky breath you stand up look over to Eli sitting there looking down with tears in his eyes. As you went to walk up the stairs he looked up finally to see your back as you were starting to walk away before he could think his hand reached out and grabbed the bottom of your shirt. You look down to see him looking into your eyes, “...please stay.” he says in a horse voice. Moving closer to him you wrap your arms around his shoulders, “Oh Eli… No matter what you decide to do, I promise I’ll be with you every step of the way.”

For anyone still under the impression that June Egbert is just a product of the Toblerone wishes with no particular relevance to Homestuck proper, here's an argument to the contrary: that June (or whatever you like to call her) was already here, woven into John's relationship with the idea of Dad.

Act 1 has a certain preoccupation with the ideal forms of things, John having multiple instances of saying X isn't a REAL X unless it has this or that characteristic. "A fire BELONGS in a fireplace, categorically." One of those outbursts touches upon masculinity, with John saying a gentleman without a monocle is a piss-poor excuse for such. Along such a paradigm, you might gather that something like John saying the beaglepuss sucks as a disguise or trying (and failing) to integrate Dad's pipe into the façade communicates that John is kind of grasping at this ideal of masculinity exemplified by Dad and getting frustrated that he can't seem to measure up to it (or that masculinity feels "fake" on him).

This sort of dynamic is more blatant with Dave, who talks openly about how he isn't a "hero", not really, measuring himself against the impossible standards set by his Bro. But as much was already implicit in Act 1.

Later it gets established that John has some kind of fear of heights: the first ogres appear after John experiences vertigo from almost falling off the stairs, and again after getting launched by the pogo hammer. (Just as Karkat suspected he was given a planet covered in his own blood as a form of harassment, Sburb placed John's house on that needle plateau because of this fear of heights; the game generally manifests adversaries in response to fear). The phobia becomes relevant to Dad stuff after the ogre fight is over, when John is hesitating to jump down into Dad's room: it isn't just that John's nervous about entering the room for the first time, the descent itself makes John anxious. Furthermore, this juxtaposition serves to establish that the fear of heights and anxieties around Dad are related somehow, if not outright synonymous. The two are associated again at the beginning of Act 5 Act 2, when dream!John tries to jump over a canyon to reach Dad, but awakens mid-leap. The formal reason John awakens is Vriska of course, but if we ignore her we're left with John approaching Dad and immediately experiencing vertigo. (The name "June" comes from Vriska contacting John shortly after this dream, incidentally)

This comes up again when John finds Dad's wallet and gets overwhelmed by the prospect of Manhood and the responsibilities it entails -- next thing you know John is flying around in Dad's car, having fun... and after the scene is interrupted by Seek the Highblood, we return to find John crashing the car (another fall from the sky!) and talking with Vriska about dread surrounding societal expectations, and the possibility of rejecting them to pursue something different for yourself. John came into the scene worried (if quietly) about the expectations surrounding manhood, so the Vriska conversation serves to makes those kind of concerns more vivid.

The car crash is itself kind of a metaphor for that conversation's trajectory... in Act 6 we see something analogous play out among the Dersites who have gotten into dapper-wear: one Dersite sits on a hat, panics about ruining it, and then begins to wonder if perhaps a crumpled hat could have a value of its own, aesthetically. (Dirk expresses this sort of counter-assessment more bombastically: "...the next best thing. By which you mean, the vastly superior thing.") Dad Crocker swoops in to condemn the crumpled hat, but the Dersite's tentative revaluation of an apparent failure mode is something the scene shares with Vriska, who initially regards her ambivalence towards murder as a symptom of personal failure, unbefitting her caste. John enters that conversation with a crumpled car, and from context we can guess John's revaluation concerns "failing" to be a man in the way Dad is, and how maybe that doesn't need to be considered a failure.

As laid out so far, I guess none of this quite necessitates trans-Egbert, since people can come at "anxiety and reservations at the prospect of embodying masculine ideals" from a number of angles... but there are other considerations which make me think wrestling with self-deprecating thoughts like "I'm a failed man" are maybe comorbid with a budding sense of being a girl, in Egbert's case.

Foremost, I think it helps to recognize that Dad's car can function as a symbol of John's body. To sketch a case for that:

1a. Death often means transformation: the trolls die in questcocoons to reach the godtiers, suggesting that death stands between the caterpillar and the butterfly, their too solid flesh dissolved into a goo.

1b. A command in Act 1 implores John to "retrieve arms from MAGIC CHEST". John complies twofold: we see some fake arms retrieved from the toy chest, held up by John's real arms which have been "retrieved" from John's ostensibly armless torso.

The segment reintroduces us to Fiduspawn, a game in which one creature hatches from another, a host creature, killing the host in the process (fans of the Alien films may recognize this as derivative of the "chestburster", fans of Homestuck may recognize this as analogous to godtiering). Damara (who Rufioh refers to as "doll") becomes the host plush, who is accused of locking away Rufioh's "happy thought" (Tinkerbull) in her "chest". Rufioh's beef with Damara serves to illustrate an adversarial relationship with one's own body, the ways in which the body itself seems to function as a barrier to some happiness. The carnal imprisonment of euphoria (the "happy thought") represents dysphoria. The conversation between Kanaya and Porrim which follows has analogous content and offers a potential resolution to such a conflict, with Kanaya coming to distinguish her body from the reproductive duties assigned to her body by her caste's place in society, and knowing that she is not "bound" to the Matriorb by any will but her own...

3. But the paradigm of Fiduspawn reminds us that the act of actually ripping the happy thought out of your chest has suicidal overtones, when taken literally. And Aradiabot notwithstanding, the inner ghosts the kids give up are often green: Dirkbot tears out his uranium heart and explodes, Rose peels pink bricks off the green core of an island and wonders aloud if her existence is a mistake, and (returning to our main topic!) John tries to retrieve the green package from Dad's car. The retrieval of the box comes to represents the birth of the self from its shell, the now broken body, a gesture which overlaps with the pursuit of death.

So we can infer that Dad is akin to Damara here, having locked the desired object (the box, the "happy thought") within a container that we can identify with John's own body. Thus Vriska's talk of perhaps rejecting her assigned role in society proceeds naturally from the wreckage of Dad's car: insofar as the car functions as an emblem of the masculine expectations imposed upon John, the car's wreckage suggests the possibility of liberation from those expectations, liberation from your own body. John is "sick to death of cake" -- cake is a Life symbol imposed by Dad, in visceral excess, accumulating as every birthday marches John towards Manhood. The possibility of living as a girl does not seem to have occurred to John yet, life and masculinity seem inextricable and absolute. The first time John sees Dad's car totaled (after Rose drops it), the symbol of self-as-corpse is surrounded by yellow bands of caution tape. The Authority Regulator who placed the tape will later declare himself to be THE LAW, and we should take his word for it: the scene's function is to declare that the crumpled car, the "dead" and therefore feminized body, is forbidden to John. No surprise then that as John marches to her death, in defiance of the Law's prohibition, she-whose-name-does-not-yet-suit-her is met with impressions of several maps that actually align with their territories: troll movies whose titles are their contents in full, a rocket encoded by the sound PCHOOOOO. John wants that for herself, I think. And as @lscholar once pointed out, it’s worth noting that John's pursuit of this unity (this pursuit of "death") is interrupted by Dave, who in saving John's life repeatedly emphasizes their status as "bros" -- masculinity being, again, inextricable from life within John’s symbol system.

...and that's the short of it. A more detailed account might get into the association of Vriska and other blue girls with the feminized corpse, or read into Equius self-consciously roleplaying as a cat girl between John’s joyride and crash, or perhaps try to apply this car-body framework to the appearances of Dad's car in the Epilogues. And I haven’t even touched upon clowns...but I'll call it here for now.

27.-Abanico de Emociones: After touching a weird hand fan, the bros are now separated into their emotions. Cue chaos, revealed secrets and probably some personal issues that weren't meant to be known.

28.-among our time: among us au. Heroes and Villains wake up in a spaceship with a simple mission: Discover who the imposters are and you will go back home. Each time they fail, the “game” resets... and the imposters change too.

29.-Rayos y Centellas: Martin(16) and Chris(14) get transported to a fantasy world. Magic, talking creatures, epic battles. They love the place and arent looking for a way back; also theyre the “Chosen Ones” and have to defeat the current evil lord. After years of training they have their epic battle, win, and are crowned the new heroes of the land.

30.-What Is Not There: How do you explain creation to a machine? this is a question going around Martin’s head when Zach the android told him he wanted to be an inventor. Also its a zartin AU

31.-vampirillo: the WK crew and almost all the villains are mythical creatures. There are also lots of mythical creatures around, living peacefully among humans... most of the time. Also its a zartin AU. OCs are allowed

32.-Rotten: Hunger Games owo. AU with 3 and a half versions (the half is just the normal cast being thrown into the Games)

33.-Putrid and Stuck: apocalyptic world where Salutations/Toodles are the zombies resulting from Martin/Chris' death. Martin and Chris are stuck as ghosts and have to make sure their zombies dont get killed.

34.-mermaid kratts: mermaids! do i have to say more? :D

35.-Beginning and End: some issues with the Time Trampoline turned Martin into a kid and Chris into an old man. Better fix this soon because it look like they keep aging...

A/N: Shorter than usual, at 1203 words, it’s gotten harder to write around here and all I have to offer you this week is a nice, enticing teaser. Hope it sparks a little excitement!

And thank you SO MUCH to all the fans that submitted their ideas for what Hvitserk is like at parties!! Hope you enjoy seeing your little details reflected here!

Hvitserk. You remember him from one party last year. Hvitserk doesn’t go to your school, so it wasn’t like anyone besides his brothers already knew him, but man, he just ran that room. His smile was infectious, he was a killer on the dance floor, and when he called out ‘body shots’ just about everyone in attendance followed him into the kitchen. You can still picture the shape of his luscious mouth as he leaned in to lick salt off the nearest girl. By the end of the night, you had been part of a select group gathered around the couches, listening to him philosophize about all the things he’d learned backpacking across Europe. He’d even convinced the host to let him smoke his hand-rolled cigarettes indoors, with nothing but his charming smile and a little lingering eye contact. Suffice it to say, you’re looking forward to getting to know him better.

You have no idea how Ivar or Ubbe are going to introduce your role to him. Like, what would they even say? “Yes, this is our roommate, who we take turns fucking, and also she cleans the house, and cooks for us, and maybe if you ask her really nicely she’ll let you play the game too?”

Turns out, they must not have figured out what to say, either. When Hvitserk comes sweeping in with a big rucksack and an even bigger smile, they remind him of your name but that’s about all the introduction you get. His friendly eyes land on you with warm interest, but nothing in that gaze suggests that he’s already been told about the dirty things you all get up to around here. “Y/N, yes, I remember. We were at that party together, right?”

You’re quite surprised that he would remember you. You hadn’t been very talkative. “Yeah, I think so.” Play it cool. Given that you’d seen him coming out of two different bedrooms over the course of that night, adjusting his clothes and each time jumping right back into the party with a fresh drink and a fresh smile, you’d assumed your memory would have been quite overshadowed.

“You play the new FIFA, dude?” Ubbe asks, pulling his brother’s attention away. “We just got it.”

Hvitserk makes a scoffing noise. “I’m undefeated, bro.” He drops the rucksack on the floor in the living room and hops onto the couch.

Your eyes linger on the bag. You’re not even really sure if they had already hammered out the sleeping arrangements, either. The third bedroom is yours, now, but maybe you’ll sleep with one of the boys tonight, and Hvitserk will still take that bed? You should probably go change the sheets on it, just in case.

Ivar follows you. Leaning against the wall beside the doorway, he watches you stripping the linens. Amusement sparkles behind his eyes.

“What,” you ask.

“You like him.”

You bend across the bed, pretending to have trouble with the corner of the bottom sheet just to hide your flustered face. “Not…not more than you.”

You catch Ivar’s proud smirk out of the corner of your eye. “Not more than me. I like that. Good. But,” he pronounces, “you have a crush.”

You roll the stripped sheets into a ball in front of your stomach. “Your brother’s a charmer. Last time he came around, I think everyone had a crush on him.” You flick your eyes casually, innocently, up toward the ceiling. “Maybe I’ll set him up with Sonya while he’s in town.”

Ivar just nods, continuing to gaze intently at you. He nudges his elbow at the sheets. “You’re giving up your bed.”

“Far as I can tell,” you say, hugging the linens in a little tighter, “all the beds in this apartment are kind of mine.”

Ivar leans in, enjoying your sass. “Then I wonder which one you’ll be sleeping in tonight.” Somehow he makes that sound like a threat.

You transform your thrill into a smile and an enigmatic shrug, moving toward the door to get some fresh sheets.

Ivar makes you pause with a hand on your hip. “I want you to be an excellent hostess for Hvitserk,” he instructs. He nods toward the ball of sheets in your arms. “When you’re done with that, why don’t you go out there and get them some drinks, and snacks.” His eyes flit across your face, idly admiring. “Treat him…like he lives here too.” And then he taps your butt to dismiss you.

You’re a bit flushed as you head to the linen closet. That was a signal that Ivar wants you to cut Hvitserk in on the thrall arrangement too, right? Although if so, you wonder why he won’t just come out and say exactly that. Hm. Maybe he wants it to be your choice. Wouldn’t be right for him to just order you to sleep with someone, anyway. This way he’s kind of just giving you the option, isn’t he.

That is, of course, if Hvitserk is even interested. It already feels insane that two gorgeous guys want to sleep with you at the same time. How likely is it that you’d attract a third? Especially someone with the charm and pull that Hvitserk has. You’ve seen it; that boy can, and did, have any girl he wanted. Certainly he’s not desperate for any handouts.

By the time you’ve finished tidying your bedroom, getting it ready for a stranger’s use, and then gone to the kitchen to set some fresh beers and snack selections on a tray, you’ve talked yourself out of doing anything to catch Hvitserk’s attention when you bring it out. Not that you really know anything about seduction, anyway. Couldn’t be a flirt if you tried. Your style is mostly just to pine, and wait, and do as you’re told, isn’t it.

And this is what Ivar told you to do. There is a sort of submissive little thrill in setting that tray down in front of your guest. Showing him a level of service that is unusual, although not entirely out of place. Undercover subbing. “Here,” you say, although you don’t really expect to get the boys’ attention away from the rapidly-shifting images on the screen, “I brought out some things I thought you might like.”

To your surprise, Hvitserk meets your eyes as you look up from the tray. “Thanks, y/n, that’s really sweet of you.”

Have you ever met one of those guys that just, makes really amazing eye contact? Like you almost have to close your eyes and look away, because he’s just so warm, and confident, and seems like truly interested in you as a person, even though he can’t possibly be because he’s just too damned hot it’s like trying to look directly at the sun…yeah. Hvitserk’s one of those. You’re not even sure what kind of silly little response you mumble back to his praise.

“Gooooooooooal!” Ubbe shouts, saving you from the moment. “In your face, dude!”

Oh no. Did you distract Hvitserk too much from the game?

“That’s alright, dude,” Hvitserk replies, pausing to actually wink at you. “You can have one goal before I crush you. I want you to feel like you had a chance.”

You know what I want/would love from Stardew Valley?

To have Zuzu city available to travel and have like 12 more people to date.

Like yes we have npc mods and Ridgeside Village, but I would love to have an additional storyline where the mayor of Zuzu city sees how profitable our little valley is and tries to buy up the village, kinda like what Joja did but I want new fundraising events and even more ways to improve the town so we can 'save' the village. And since we probably came from Zuzu city, it would be cool to have some small flashbacks of how lonely our life. Maybe even meeting our family (who probably still lives in the city)

Like give us apartments for the teens who want to move out and get their own space (like maybe Seb and Sam), maybe Lewis could stop being such a money pincher and do something to help the village and finally confess that he and Marnie are dating.

Like the new stuff from 1.5 was fun but if you hate doing puzzles over and over (like I love a good puzzle but I don't want to do 5 or 6 to gain stuff I need), then having a new place to meet people would be great.

Like I love playing this game but I basically finished the 1.5 storyline in like 2 days.

I just want more people, more romance, more drama. I need some jealously from people I'm trying to romance, some rivals dating each other.

I would love:

*A city slicker who buys land just west of Robin's cabin and tries his hand at farming (his heart events would be us giving him farming advice)

*A young adult who bonds with Willy over fishing and they go on fishing adventures together (you'll get to see them around town fishing)

*I want Elliot to become a humble book millionaire who upgrades his cabin into a nice house with a huge library

*Maru could build her own laboratory, maybe east if the museum and we could have our own little science and artifacts section, with maybe a zoo area or a building dedicated to creating minerals so we can donate them to the museum

*I also wanna build a much nicer tent from Linus, the poor man deserves it.

I want people with money to blow and have them buy a ton from Pierre or Gus

*Teenagers who make a small group to go explore the mines with Abigail and Marlon

*Fashion forward people to make clothes with Emily and Haley

*Lewis could gather money to actually have Robin build a school and hire a teacher or two

*I need a coffee shop where the moms and teens can hang out

*I want the ability to anonymous donate money to people and see them get happy and slowly get house upgrades from Robin. (Like have a secret community board that magically gathers what people want. Just like the community board but its stuff you'll see wound town like Pierre might want 10,000 G to update his shelving units and then they'll look much better afterwards.

*A bigger playground for the kids, with tree houses and play houses please.

*I also need more furniture because I need more rugs and couches in my house

*I know Krobus can live with us as a roommate but can I spend some money to make his sewer life Hella fancy?

*I want an arcade, with at least 10 mini games and each giving the player special items (like a free coffee voucher or a treasure map)

*I need to meet the Witch and see what it takes to reunite her with the Wizard or find her a better man, because I need to know her story

*If Zuzu City does become available, I wanna meet Morris and potentially buy out Joja Co. and transform it into a better company. (I'll grind my blueberry empire for millions if I have to)

*I want a pet store. Let me become a cat lady

*Let my kids (and the other kids) grow up and find their place in town. Would I love to play sports with an older Vincent? You bet

*I also wanna know Mr. Qi's backstory like whats up bro, how are you blue? Did you piss off the wizard years ago?

*I want a shooting stars night where there's a very rare chance we get a meteorite on the farm or maybe we could come across something magical

Like I have more ideas and those above ^^ are a lot but I would pay for any of it. I've spent hundreds for the The Sims, both 3 and 4 and when 5 comes out too. So my wallet is completely open lol and if anyone wants to make any ^^^ of those, pls let me know cuz I'll definitely be on the lookout for it.

Harry Potter, Disney, Marvel, DC comics, Miraculous Ladybug, Avatar: The Last Airbender/The Legend of Korra, Star Wars, Literature, Winx Club, Nintendo, Minecraft, Little Witch Academia, Voltron, Coraline

Details:

Harry Potter- I got into Harry Potter in 7th grade and now I am the resident expert in my family and in my friend group. I read all the books, watched all the movies (notably the British version), and I've seen the Fantastic Beasts films as well. I've also read Tales of Beedle the Bard (the Warlock's Hairy Heart was traumatizing) along with the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them textbook (plus an updated edition). I also read The Cursed Child script and while I mean no hate to anyone that liked it, I hated what it did to the canon. I am in Hufflepuff with some Ravenclaw tendencies (I took the Pottermore quiz 3 times, 2 out of 3 I got Hufflepuff, the other time was Ravenclaw). I had a pottermore account and I was so upset when it got converted to the Wizarding World page. I cosplayed Hermione in 7th grade complete with British accent and even monologued as her for a talent show (classmates and teachers would recognize me as the Hermione girl all the way through high school). I was obsessed and I still love it even if J.K. Rowling has gone off the deep end on Twitter... yeah... my favorite character is Hermione but I also relate to Luna

Disney- there's so much that goes into the Disney part of my fandom list. I'm excluding Marvel and Star Wars from this part as they were originally separate entities before Disney got the rights to them. I have seen almost every animated Disney film ever and often use random movie quotes in conversation. My favorite villain is Maleficent, my favorite princess is Ariel (followed by Belle, Rapunzel, and Anna). I relate to so many of the characters. I'm not sure who my favorite Pixar character is though (I love Violet, Sadness, Dory, and Piper (from the short)). My favorite Disney fairy is Fawn. My favorite characters overall are Ariel and Stitch. Disney is definitely on the list as one of my biggest obsessions. My favorite movies are Lilo and Stitch, the Little Mermaid, Inside Out, Alice in Wonderland (original), and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

Marvel- I mostly get my Marvel exposure through the MCU, other movies, and animated TV shows. I have difficulty reading graphic novels so most of my comic book knowledge comes from friends, posts, or wikis. My favorite characters are Spider-Man, Captain America, Peggy Carter, and Scarlet Witch. I also like Gwenpool, Deadpool, Spider-Gwen/ Ghost-Spider, Venom, Squirrel Girl, Daredevil, Mantis, Gamora, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, Loki, Bucky, Black Panther, and most MCU characters. Out of the X-men I really like Professor X, Wolverine, Mystique, Magneto, Nightcrawler, and Quicksilver (either version- MCU or Fox).

DC- this was the franchise I was more familiar with growing up but again, graphic novels aren't easy for me to read so most of my knowledge comes from information pages about the comics or from tv/movies. My earliest experience with DC came from the 60s Batman series, with Catwoman and Robin being my favorites. I also watched the Wonder Woman series from the 70s and a handful of CW shows, my favorite of which being the Flash and Arrow. I also managed to watch all 5 seasons of the Teen Titans Cartoon Network series from 2003. With that being said, my favorite characters are Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Flash, Batman, Nightwing/Robin (Dick Grayson), Green Arrow, Starfire, Raven, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Alfred. I also like most of the bat family, and when it comes to CW I LOVE Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost and Cisco.

Miraculous- this is one of my guilty fandoms but since this is Tumblr I'm not too worried about it. I love Marinette and I relate to her on an astoundingly deep level (minus the stalking and obsession with potential lovers, that's creepy). If I had a miraculous, I'd probably want the Ladybug one, but the Cat miraculous, fox miraculous, and snake miraculous are good too. My favorite character is Marinette/Ladybug.

Atla/Tlok- I jumped on the avatar bandwagon just when it was starting to get popular, so I managed to get through the series before the memes took over everything. Same with Tlok, although i couldn't completely avoid the spoilers for that when i started it. I've been wanting to get into the comics because of the short story comics I've read, they seem easier to read than superhero comics. My favorite characters are Aang, Katara, Ty Lee, Iroh, Korra, Jinora, Asami, Suki, Appa, Momo, Naga, and Pabu. I also like Sokka, Mai, Zuko, Lin, Kuvira, Varrick, Zhu Lee, and Azula. I feel really sorry for her and while I understand that a redemption arc would undermine the importance of her corruption arc, I still wish she could have one. I would love to be a waterbender or an airbender... maybe a waterbender raised in the air nation? Obviously, being the avatar itself would be awesome. The show has taught me a lot of great lessons and put a lot of stuff into perspective for me.

Star Wars- oh boy, talking about this one is dangerous. I've seen firsthand the horrors of the Star Wars fandom but then again no one will probably see this anyway so... I've seen all the movies and I remember watching the clone wars series with my brother when I was younger but we fell wayyy behind and it's taking us forever to get back into it. I've also seen the Mandalorian and quite enjoyed it. I like the prequels unironically, in fact, the prequels are some of my favorite movies. I especially like how they switched from lightsabers being heavy weapons to light weapons that can be used for all kinds of tricks that make for epic battles like the ones we see in Revenge of the Sith. The sequels were fun to watch but when I would analyze them along side their predecessors, I came to the conclusion that, for me, they were good to watch but did not do anything good for the rest of the franchise. My favorite characters are prequels/clone wars Obi Wan and Anakin, Padme, Ashoka, Leia, R2D2, BB-8, R4-P17, the Mandalorian (Din Djarin), and Grogu. If I had a lightsaber I'd want it to be blue, but when I was little I got a purple one like Mace Windu because it was closer to pink and I was into pink at the time. I still have that lightsaber and none of my friends have a purple one so it's one of my flexes. I feel like I wouldn't make a good jedi because of attachments being forbidden, so I'd probably become a grey jedi.

Literature- this is a broad term I use to cover all the random books and stories I liked reading and have studied. So we have Shakespeare (Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet), The Great Gatsby (bored while reading, loved to analyze), Grendel (HATED reading, loved to analyze, Grendel really needed a hug and a friend), The Crucible, Fahrenheit 451, Dark Life (+ the sequel Riptide, both are by Kat Falls good reads, sci-fi and kind of dystopian), The Once and Future King

Winx Club- I think the show is trashy but I still love watching it. I haven't been able to get through season 6 though and I hated what they did with season 8 and Fate: the Winx Saga. My favorite character is Bloom along with Stella and Flora. I prefer rai to nick. My favorite transformations are magic winx, enchantix, and harmonix. My favorite member of the Trix is Icy followed by Darcy. My favorite Pixies are Chatta and Lockette.

Nintendo- mainly Pokémon above all else, followed by Animal Crossing. I have also played (mostly as player 2 or just never beat or watched my brother play) mario games, legend of zelda, pikmin, and kirby. Games I haven't played but I just liked the characters/the lore and probably learned about through Super Smash Bros. are Fire Emblem (Lucina mostly), Metroid (Samus and baby metroid), and Kid Icarus. Pokémon is where I'm most knowledgeable but you'll most likely beat me in battle. I am however great at MarioKart and I always destroy my friends at it. Terrible at fighting games though.

Minecraft- I like playing this casually. Sure, I'll play for hours and hours on end for months, but I prefer to stay exclusively in peaceful when playing Survival mode and I don't make anything too ambitious in Creative mode. I like to write, so sometimes I'll make a rough layout of the settings of my stories in different worlds. I prefer interior design and decorating when building, and when in survival mode I focus more on mining and gathering while my brother works on ambitious building projects. I just bring him the raw materials and furnish the interior when he finishes the outside.

Little Witch Academia- this takes up a smaller portion of my fandom list because there were only 2 seasons and a couple movies and I watched the whole series years ago, but I still enjoy it. At one point I wanted to cosplay Akko, and I loved the nod at Twilight through the Nightfall series. And I especially liked the twist that Shiny Chariot was Ursula, which I suspected for some time. The blend between magic and technology was fun to see, but I was so sad that the series ended RIGHT when Akko finally showed signs of magic proficiency. Also, Shiny Chariot being the reason Akko couldn't do magic was heartbreaking.

Voltron- this takes up a much smaller portion of my fandom list mainly because I haven't even finished it. I know hardly anything about Transformers aside from the Bumblebee movie so to me I just watch it for fun. It reminds me of power rangers, star wars, and star trek, and then there's just a transformer insert. But I don't know anything about Transformers so maybe the show is more rooted in canon than I think.

Coraline- I am in a love-hate relationship with Coraline. I have watched the movie several times, I've read the book, I've watched hours of theories and analyses on youtube, I've watched behind the scenes videos by Laika, and I even wrote a script for a fan film parody. I am amazed at how original the story is and how impressive the stop motion animation is but I also have recurring nightmares from it and it scares me/creeps me out to the max. If anyone asks what my scariness limit is, it's definitely Coraline.

Sunday 22/8/21 - Media Recommendations #16: Top 3's of Right Now

In terms of new media to recommend this week, there is none. So this week I'm gonna do a bit of a recap/best of media thing. From the categories of Music, Anime, and Videogames, I'm gonna list my top 3 of right now.

What do I mean by Top 3 of Right Now? Well, personal taste in consumable media is very malleable and subject to change over time. So today, I'm gonna quickly highlight what I can declare my Top 3 Favourite Songs, Anime Series, and Videogames are, as the Mitchell of August the 22nd, 2021.

Some of these things I'm recommending I will have discussed in a previous Media Recommendations post, but my discussion of each of the things I talk about today will be very short. So without further ado, let's start with music.

● Top 3 Favourite Songs

▪︎3rd: Caramelldansen - Caramella Girls

I can't really explain in words why I like this song so much, but it's just really good. I am not fluent speaker of Swedish, so I do not understand much of anything in the lyrics, but that's the magic of good music, you don't have to understand. If a song bops hard enough, the lyrics can be complete nonsense and still make worldwide charts even outside their native tongue. Caramelldansen also manages to capture that quintessential excitable weaboo nerd energy that I've come to accept is definitely part of my being.

This spot was the hardest to place out of any other placing in this post. There was about 6 songs I could declare as being my 3rd favourite song of all time, but at the very second I'm writing this, midnight on Sunday, I decided that Caramelldansen is my third favourite song.

▪︎2nd: Foolish Heart - Nyanners

One thing that will always make me enjoy a song is a funky beat. Music that just pumps and jams. Foolish Heart is fun to groove to and there's not much more to it. I also have a soft spot for bitter-sweet lovesongs, and there aren't many songs I know that are as bitter about the sweetness of love than this. I follow the artist who does this song on many of her socials and I was a fan of it the second it came out, and it will probably stay in my regular rotation for a long time.

▪︎1st: I Want You - Savage Garden

I had actually heard this song a bit when I was much younger, but it was only recently I became obsessed with it. It is the song used in the closing credits during JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4, and I instantly fell in love with it. It's just so funky and goes so damn hard. It's a soft song, but also very powerful. The vocals are so smooth and the instruments are so sexy. It's been my favourite song for many years in a row now, and I think it's gonna keep that number 1 spot for a while longer yet.

▪︎3rd: Darling in the Franxx

Darling in the Franxx just vibed with me on an emotional level. My very soul was touched by how much love this anime exudes. Studio Trigger are known foremost for their intense action and over the top characters, and sure this anime has those in spades. For someone who hasn't watched it, it may appear to be a cosmic mecha anime, but in fact, it is a romance story first. I can't really explain it well, but Darling in the Franxx just punches you right in the soul with how much emotion there is. It is a beautiful anime.

▪︎2nd: Food Wars - Shokugeki no Soma

There's just something fun about rooting for a snarky protagonist who is overconfident. Especially when, most of the time, they are precisely big enough for their boots. Food Wars is a complete 3 course dinner that fills many different niches of anime. It's a lesson in many different cultures, it is food porn, it's a battle shonen, it even has light romance, but never lets that take centre stage over the journey of the protagonists. I'm admittedly a lover of tasteful fanservice here and there, and Food Wars delivers just the right amount of echi to entertain those into it, but no more than necessary. Food Wars is just... a lot. And it's great.

▪︎1st: Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood

FMA is just such a full package. It has a fun and interesting cast of characters. A complex and vast setting that is neither overexplained nor underexplained. A cast of villains that are all unique and the perfect balance of sympathetic to hateable. And most importantly, it does not outstay its welcome. I was very much considering putting JoJo's Bizarre Adventure up here, but the issue is that like, many other series, a series can be too long. A good anime has to be long enough to sink your teeth into, but if drags on for too long, it can become exhausting. FMA spends the perfect amount of time building up the plot and ends where it should. Edward and Alphonse Elric are the perfect dynamic duo, and every character has such fun designs and personalities. I could blab on for ages on why I love Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, and I have in a previous post. So go search that up in my pinned post if you want a longer breakdown. It is an anime MUST WATCH.

●Top 3 Videogames

▪︎3rd: Super Smash Bros Ultimate

The very idea of Super Smash Bros is something that appeals to gamers everywhere. A suite of characters from all over gaming that are all playable in one huge game. You get to play that classic "my favourite character could kick your favourite character's butt" in real time. I'm not a big fighting game guy, but Smash has a very accessible jumping off point, simple controls and a system of combat that's only really as deep as you need it to be. Smash Bros is also a very important game to me socially, since I owe all my current closest friends to meetings I had interacting with the competitive scene. I used to be really into competitive Smash too, and Smash Ultimate in particular had a fairly balanced cast, in that if you were committed enough, you could dominate with any character. But even if I've grown exhausted with that scene, and only ever play the game casually now, I owe a lot to this series.

▪︎2nd: Animal Crossing New Horizons

As of right now, Animal Crossing is not a game I play.... at all. But for the few months after the game released, ACNH was a religious dedication. I'm in a pretty shitty place these days. Can't see friends, can't even go to work, the world is falling apart as our leaders can't get Covid under control. But while I was playing ACNH, it brought structure and purpose back into my life for a while. I had villagers depending on me, museum collections to complete, flowers to breed, an island to transform into my vision of a nice place to live. It was nice. This number 2 spot might be taken by a different game in the future, but this year, Animal Crossing New Horizons was a very important game for me.

▪︎ 1st: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild

Despite Zelda being a huge part of my identity, I didn't actually get into the series until my mid teens. By that point, most of the later games were very formulaic and linear. And sure that can make for a very compelling story and experience, but BotW just threw that idea out the window. Breath of the Wild is a game you can just get lost in. Spend an hour just dicking around in the middle of nowhere and it's a blast just to move around. The world is tranquil, and also exciting. The game is gorgeous and fun to play and there's just too much to talk about. I've played the game from start to finish at various levels of completion about 5 times now, (one playthrough being a 2 hourish speedrun to the final boss) and every playthrough I found new locations, puzzles, interactions that I never encountered before. It's a game that just matched my being perfectly and I doubt a game will leave an impact like that for many years to come.

Reacting To: Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (Season 3 Episode 4)

Ughhhhh :’(

Episode Title: Don’t You Forget a Meow Me

Spoiler Warning: Kindly proceed if you’ve already seen the episode or are able to handle spoilers

1. First of all, what a cute episode title! LOL. The episode opens with Yumyan, Asher and Dahlia trying to catch a butterfly mute from the tree tops but the butterfly has a brain and is able to flee lol. And he has such a bro voice. Cool! We get to see a close-up of Asher; They look so good with short hair.

2. Dahlia spots Zane, who is about to fire his crossbow at someone but Yumyan and the others took care of him:

3. Back inside, everybody is having pancakes for dinner but they’re interrupted by Zane’s presence. He has a message for Kipo from Emilia and she wants Kipo to meet her at the water treatment facility in 3 hours to get cured. Kipo doesn’t seem to have a choice but to follow her instruction because Wolf, Benson and Dave have been captured by Emilia all thanks to that spineless backstabber, Margot. But I’m so pumped now because I feel like things are gonna get epic and serious from this point onwards. 

4. Kipo immediately runs off to get to Emilia but is thankfully stopped by Song before she makes another bad decision. Kipo is frustrated that Emilia still has power even though she thinks she has already completely destroyed the research journal, which we know it wasn’t completely disintegrated.

5. They head back to the village to discuss a new game plan. Song tries to give her input and it sounds pretty legit but it’s a shame nobody is understanding her. I have a feeling this is where Mulholland is gonna come in. 

I actually think Zane’s lowkey fine....don’t judge lol

6. But what’s even better is that they know Zane is aware of Emilia’s secret plan and Kipo brilliantly comes up with the idea to trick him into drinking water with Mulholland in it in order to get inside his thoughts. Mulholland is such a useful ally to have. 

Poor Scarlemagne is getting tossed around in that glass cell, ouch!

7. We switch things over to Scarlemagne, who is having a conversation with Song! Song looks like she’s expressing her worries to him but Scarlemagne, too, doesn’t get what she’s trying to say. Sometimes I find myself forgetting that these two had somewhat of a mother-son relationship. 

8. Mulholland manages to retrieve the info from Zane’s brain and he tells the others that Emilia only has 2 doses of the cure, thanks to the fur Kipo left back in episode 2. Also, he reveals (or mentally shows) to them that Wolf, Benson and Dave are tied up with a bomb nearby so that in case anyone tries to rescue them, Emilia and her crew will cause the bomb to explode. Yikes!

9. Kipo wonders if Mulholland could get into Emilia’s head to turn her good but he says it’s too risky because if he gets mixed in with the cure, there is a possibility he would de-mute everyone. Double yikes! But I think it’s a plan worth considering if none of their other plans work because at least Dr. Emilia hasn’t been introduced to Mulholland, I think.

10. Side note: Where is Troy throughout all of this? His boyfriend is captured and threatened by the bad guys. I want to know his reaction. Anyways, with the help of Mulholland, Kipo, Lio and Yumyan then go through an imaginary test-run of their rescue mission but they quickly fail because Kipo is too fearful. Why though? Is it because her friends are in danger? But that didn’t stop her in episode 2 when Jamack was captured. Weird, right? 

11. Yumyan and Lio try to advise Kipo on how to stay calm and not be too afraid when facing Emilia. Yumyan definitely got through to Kipo a little more because he reminds her of the time in Season 1 when she pushed him to take charge. Afterwards, Kipo seems to feel a lot better and she then tries another simulation....and another...and I guess another but she’s always failing. Really, Kipo?

12. Awww, the way those Timberkittens call Scarlemagne’s name was so adorable!  Also, are their names really Scrumples and Snugglemuffin? Or are those nicknames given to them by Scarlemagne. If so, omg that’s so precious! So now, Scarlemagne is trying to teach Song to speak using alphabet blocks just like how she taught him when he was just a child and when she was still a human. 

13. Back to Kipo’s test-runs; She’s still failing miserably in them. She can’t seem to avoid Emilia’s darts for some reason, specifically the second dart she shoots at her. Well, she better figure out a strategy quick because the deadline to respond to Emilia is almost here.

14. Next, we see Song and Scarlemagne playing charades with the latter trying to guess what’s she’s gesturing. It’s funny that Song doesn’t know how to read or write but she sure does know how to listen to the others almost perfectly lol. Eventually, he manages to guess a word that is similar to “feeling” so far. Hmm...

15. It’s times up and Mulholland decides to bid his farewell for the good of the mutes. He feels like him being around them would be dangerous in the event Emilia got to him. Ugh, I don’t want him too leave. He’s too much of a valuable asset to the group. Not to mention, he’s hilarious. 

I love soft Scarlemagne. I have a feeling that he still has that family bond with the Oaks. 

16. Kipo feels like she has no choice now but to give in to Emilia’s demands but before they could leave, Scarlemagne and Song stop them because Song has a message she wants to give to Kipo through Scarlemagne. She basically wants Kipo to know that she shouldn’t let Emilia use her feelings against her and instead, she should dish it back to Emilia. Scarlemagne further explains that she should let Emilia think she won this round so that she would put her guard down. Great thinking!

17. We fast forward to Kipo barging into Emilia’s hideout without hesitation. Emilia shoots a cure dart and it apparently gets her but she probably didn’t. I predict Kipo has some protective covering for her chest. Emilia goes back on her deal and now wants to take all of them back to her ship. And she wants Kipo to tell the rest of the humans that she didn’t want to be a mute anymore. 

18. It turns out that she’s just distracting her so that Lio and Yumyan could go forward with their rescue plan with Lio stealing Emilia’s second and only other dart left and Yumyan stopping Greta from triggering the nectar bomb. And as predicted, Kipo had that piece of wood Scarlemagne used to write on to protect her. And the battle begins with Yumyan taking on Greta and Kipo taking on Emilia.

19. But why are they struggling against the humans? Kipo should’ve transformed into her full Mega Jaguar form. Because of that, both Emilia and Greta manage to best them and escape. What the!? This fight should’ve been one-sided with the odds favoring the mutes. 

20. And look what happened! OMG! I think Yumyan got hit by the dart that was meant for Kipo. Again, why was Kipo so slow at avoiding those darts all of a sudden?! Ughh, she’s so frustrating. Technically, Wolf made the dart go to Yumyan but this wouldn’t happen if Kipo had reacted faster. Kipo and the rest think that they escaped without any harm...we’ll see about that...

21. Yeap, my fears came true because Yumyan did get hit by the cure dart and he has turned into regular cat. Nooooo!!!! And it’s kinda low key Kipo’s fault. She went through like 10 test runs, so she should’ve learned to avoid them but no, she didn’t! *sniffs. Kipo better find a way to turn him back into a mute pronto. And I’m pretty sure Lio would be able to help. Damn...and the episode has to end with his last words being “Yumyan owns you...meow”...CRIESSSS

Gale’s Top Ten: Favorite ML Characters

Similar to my Least Favorite list, I am going STRICTLY by how I enjoy the person’s character in Canon only.  This is also my opinion, so Odds are you won't agree exactly with my list. and it does get a bit rambley

10. Juleka Couffaine:

Interestingly While her Brother made the other list, Juleka is a character I find very interesting. She gets a lot of funny quips and comments which you wouldn't expect from the quiet girl. She is actually one of the class that I find has an interesting character, she wants to model, but is lacking in confidence and finds herself in situations where she is photographed badly. She has anxiety but she still tries to live her dreams. She is a supportive Girlfriend Friend to Rose, a trust worthy member of the Help Mari bag Adrien club, and also just adorable. I love seeing her on screen and her akuma, while interesting in design has quite an interesting performance that is always fun to enjoy. Heck, the producers of the show used her Akuma THREE TIMES in season 3. She is a rocker girl with a soft side, and she actually helps give Luka a good chunk of his personality (so there is so MAJOR points for that.

9. Alya Cesaire / Rena Rouge:

Marinette’s blogger best friend and Fox Heroine of Paris. Alya has a lot of personality. Dedicated to finding the truth and being a good Wingwoman to Marinette. Alya does have a few faults, where she gets carried away in whatever catches her interest and sometime pushes Marinette in scenarios that can be considered Awkward, but she always has the best intentions and will fight for her friend. Now A LOT of people have recently become very bold with their feelings of negativity towards the girl, (salty fans) And I know an au or two have not been kind to her (one in particular that came out during Oblivio comes to mind). But I am not judging on Fandom criteria or salty au’s. I like Alya’s character and I can't wait to see more.

8. Lê Chiến Kim / King Monkey

The energetic Athlete who may be a bit slow on the uptake, but always down for a dare. He is the embodiment of endearing and he always makes me laugh when on screen. I just love how much energy he has. He is a dork and he doesn't give a damn what you say. One of the few characters that got even better in season 3, I love this monkey boy and his wonderful antics. Nothing more to it except, only he would bring a swimsuit in a train.

7. Max Kante / Pegasus

Our robot making class genius got a heck of an upgrade during season 3. His character shining like a diamond. He rocks his transformation, his relationship with his mom, best robo bud Markov, and his dynamic with the jock bro Kim are all wonderful. He gains mad respect for Marinette and I just love how he plays off of everyone. The boy is smart and has a way of getting a few good moments in pretty much any episode.

6. Alix Kubdel both Present and Future:

Whether she is a roller blading graffiti artist with some cute sarcasm or a time lord that is simply trying to correct history, Alix is a character I enjoy seeing on screen at any interval. I think if I HAD to pick, I lean towards present Alix, because I find her much funnier, plus her dynamic with EVERYONE is great, I was especially loving her bits with her bff Nathanael. but Bunnyx has me curious on a LOT of things regarding the future. Though her reveal did mean that adults got no time limit on powers seems like a cop out, but if the price is seeing Bunnyx then its Time well spent.

5. Kagami Tsurugi/ Ryuuko:

Okay, I know there are a lot of people that are not a fan of Kagami. You are wrong, but that is your opinion. Kagami is easily one of the most interesting characters in Miraculous ladybug. She is a mirror (like her name implies) of both Adrien and Marinette. She reflects the feelings Adrien has, growing up with a controlling parent with hardly any free time that enjoys fencing and just wants to make friends. She reflects Marinette’s crush on Adrien, both seeing him as the sweet guy underneath and not for shallow reasons. Kagami’s confidence paralleling Marinette’s when she is driven. Kagami can also be hilariously awkward and really wants to make friends. Her time as Ryuuko is also a delight to see. Now I know some people are all complaining that her characterization is inconsistent, and honestly, I don't see it. Kagami has always been an intense person, when she wants something, she goes for it, even if she is unsure of how things will turn out (her feelings for Adrien) or how to go about it (Trying to make friends with Marinette) She is honest to the letter and I think that is something very admirable.

4. Nino Lahiffe / Carapace

GIVE HIM MORE SCREEN TIME!

Nino is Adrien’s best bro. Nino goes out of his way to be supportive and caring for Adrien. The boy got akumatized because he was pissed at Adrien’s dad for NOT letting his son celebrate his birthday! Nino is so loyal, both as a bff or as a BF. He is a caring older brother and a cool superhero. The Dj/ Film director wannabe is a chill and fun dude that Totally deserves Wayzz (More then another turtle I know *Cough* Cough*)

I honestly can't find a single thing to dislike about Nino, he is just such a good dude. Sure he can be a bit of a foot in mouth guy, and can be a bit naive on somethings, but he is such a bro you can't help but love him.

3. Plagg

It Physically hurts me that I can't put him higher on this list. The two in the main spot are just in Leagues of their own. Plagg is the most developed Character in the series and I will FIGHT ANYONE on that. Plagg starts out as selfish and only caring about cheese but becomes a friend and Confidant to Adrien. He cares about his blond son and wants to see that boy happy and safe. He does know the rules and if he knows Adrien is not doing the right thing (i.e. trying to be another hero when he is chat noir) he will call him out on it. But Plagg also encourages Adrien’s teen rebellion, such as when he was so proud of Adrien sneaking out to go to London with his class. Plagg is the perfect Kwami for Adrien and his jokes and Banter is the best part of the show’s comedy. I love this little entity of destruction and I want more of him.

2. Adrien Agreste / Chat noir

Honestly Numbers one and two are interchangeable, but I think Adrien fits perfectly as the second spot on the list. I love how compassionate and caring he is. Adrien is an interesting character. In season 1 you would find that Adrien and Chat noir were pretty much opposites, Adrien was calm, obedient, composed, almost formal, while Chat noir was wild, flirty, impulsive, rebellious and a wisecracker. Both forms maintain his need to help others and his passionate love for his friends and his Lady. 

Adrien/ Chat noir’s dynamic with Marinette/ Ladybug is always a delight to see, changing depending on which side is being seen. The flirty chat with Ladybug, the sweet love struck Adrien with Ladybug, The cocky yet caring Chat with Marinette, and the Sweet caring friend Adrien to Marinette. The love square allows for exploration of their character and I wish we could have seen it better utilized. Chat noir loves Ladybug, even if she doesn't love him the same way, he still fights by her side and will do anything for her. (a few minor bumps, but hey it happens, he is allowed a few hiccups)

As the series goes on, Adrien starts acting more rebellious, starts joking more, even a bit more flirty, he starts becoming more comfortable with himself and others, he even lets himself be selfish at times. He cares about others and he is afraid of being locked away alone. His fear of being alone has made him very naive and trusting of others, willing to overlook behavior to an extent, with the exception that it doesn't hurt anyone he cares about. (Lila being someone that has crossed this line, and seeing Adrien actually being intimidating for once.) Is he flawed? Yes. That what I love about him, he is portrayed at this perfect model, but that is more of a mask then Chat noir, and Adrien is slowly peeking out and I can't wait to see him shatter it completely. 

1. Marinette Dupain Cheng /Ladybug

What can I say about this lovable daughter of mine?

She is without a doubt one of the best teen hero main characters I have ever seen. (And I am taking Kim Possible Level, Danny Phantom level) 

Marinette is creative, caring, compassionate, competent, clumsy, competitive, considerate, and a bunch more C words that mean good things. She is a top notch designer, guardian in training, and all she wants is to win over her crush, who she doesn't know is in love with her alter ego.

Marinette has a LOT going for her and I enjoy how she overreacts and I find myself relating to her in a lot of ways. Though she is worlds more competent then I will ever be, and she is 14.

Marinette also takes the weight of the world on her shoulders, always having to plan ahead, always having to be ready, and now she is the guardian.

I can talk on and on about how amazing she is and how interesting her flaws are, but I feel so many other people have talked about that to death. I will simply say that she is very likable.

She gets the audience to WANT her to succeed, she is so selfless that you feel for her everytime something doesn't go well for her. The season 3 finale felt Like LITTERAL Knives in my back seeing how much unnecessary pain she was in, all because of something that really wasn't her fault. (I am still salty about the finale) I really want her to be happy, and I hope she and Adrien do get together in season 4. Or I will be flying over to Paris and Punching EVERY PERSON writer at Zagtoon. INCLUDING a punch to Thomas so hard his non-existent grandkids will hear it.

Marinette is a delight and I am glad Miraculous ladybug exists because it introduced us to an amazing Heroine and Character.
