Wishes
"I just wish I could help him."
Tim sighed, tired eyes staring at the rows of monitors searching for any kind of change as he recalls the last thing he can remember Bart saying to him before everything went to hell when a barrier appeared around Central City cutting it off from the rest of the world. It had taken three days before anyone even realized what had happened and that was only after Barry returned from a mission in space and ran face first into the glowing green monstrosity trapping his friends inside some sort of otherworldly magical nonsense.
And it was kind of depressing that, that was all they knew after two months.
It was pure magic, old, ancient magic that had his friends living out the kind of picture perfect high school drama you'd find on tv and they only figured out that much after Cyborg accidentally picked up a weak signal being broadcast to anyone who got close enough.
That was the only real way anyone had to check up on everyone trapped inside and in a way Tim was kind of glad it was mainly focused on his friends and the meta kid Bart had been trying to introduce to everyone cause he had constant proof they were alive. Everyone else wasn't as lucky.
He was also mostly annoyed though cause the League couldn't even damage the stupid barrier anymore. They'd cracked it once, but that just seemed to annoy whatever was powering the thing because it spread out for miles in every direction in response to the Justice League's attempts at forcing open a door and ended up swallowing dozens of government agents and heroes who couldn't escape the danger zone in time.
"Any changes?"
"None." Like always.
He knew Dick was just as worried as he was about everyone trapped inside but the glowing green eyesore wasn't reacting to anything anymore.
Science didn't work.
Magic annoyed it.
They'd finally started looking into some of the more off world solutions that were available to them but so far nothing anyone tried seemed to affect it and he should know since he hasn't stopped monitoring the situation.
He's offered up rewards, called in every single favor he's ever been owed as Tim Drake and Red Robin and read up on everything magical he could get his hands on.
He's even hacked every government agency on the planet on the off chance there might have been a possible answer hidden away somewhere and was nowhere near as professional or gentle as he usually was while doing it. He was tired, worried and more than a little angry and didn’t care about how much damage he did to anyone's computer systems as he ripped even the slightest bit of information out of any server he came across taking anything and everything from Waller's own notes on the matter to research material from a rogue sect of the government calling themselves the GIW.
That had led him down a rabbit hole of government conspiracies and cover ups that would have normally kept him busy for weeks but he had passed on the worst of it to the rest of the League and focused on the handful of files they had on an off the books company called Fenton Works.
They apparently had a functional portal with more than enough power to punch a hole between dimensions so hopefully an investigation into them would keep him busy while they waited for a response from the Green Lanterns.
-_- -_- -_-
"You need to stop this Desiree."
"Why, Phantom and his paramour are happy aren't they?"
She already knew the answer since it was her magic warping such a large area and her grin only grew as she watched Undergrowth's little champion twitch at her words.
Because that was thing, Phantom was happy.
He was the happiest he's ever been in a very long time and well out of the way on a long overdue 'vacation'. So what if everyone was taking his absence as an excuse to run a little wild. Amity would survive. They always did. The avatar of the Speed Force didn't even seem to mind and Clockwork wasn't interfering with her latest wish either so she wasn't overstepping anywhere that really mattered since the Ancient of Time usually erased anyone who went too far with his favorite student.
He hadn't even popped in to deliver any of his usual threats when she overheard the little speedster's heartbroken wish so she banished the girl back to Amity Park without a second thought.
They couldn't force her to grant wishes anymore, not after Phantom went out of his way to help alter her curse and their constant whining was starting to get annoying.
If it wasn't Undergrowth's champion then it was the Pharaoh or Phantom's sister.
None of them could take the hint and leave well enough alone.
Cause, the thing is, she left more than enough wiggle room in the wish for Phantom to get free if he ever really wanted to get free and she wasn't sure he did.
Oh, on some level he was probably well aware of something being off but he was purposely ignoring that feeling.
He was happy in the world she shaped around him and his little speedster and Desiree wasn't about to ruin that for either of them.
She'd just head back to her lair if anyone tried.
No one could get to her there, not without wasting a lot of power so maybe she'd finally have a little piece and quit to enjoy her favorite show in peace.
It's not much but I wanted to try and think up a way for Danny to experience his very own version of WandaVision.
Essentially a sad Danny from any kind of reason really but for now I'm just blaming his entire life for this one and a desperately trying to be helpful Bart who has vague memories of a future with Danny get a starring role in a new life that was perfectly prepared just for them at the cost of pretty much everyone else.
I don't remember what it's called but there was a Disney movie about a superhero school so I'm kind of imagining that and a lot of really cheesy musical moments thrown in somewhere while everyone outside of the barrier is left worrying about their friends and family.
I know it's weird, but my mind just comes up with really weird ideas when I'm tired.

Can we pleaaaaaaase see a little of the next proselitiztion chapter? Pleeeeeease
The instruments around the monitor beeped as he watched the screen. He couldn't see anything substantial -- only Heinz and Lawrence, sometimes, at a strange angle that he thought might be how they'd look if he laid on his back. The rest of the time, he was staring at an unpleasantly white ceiling, the blankness an unwelcome reminder of his time in the dark. Where there was nothing. No one. Not even...
"Stay with me."
Perry bent to one knee and accepted the little Heinz into his arms, rubbing his back in comfort. He still couldn't feel anything -- not the fabric of his clothes, or the touch of his skin, or even the cold metal of the workstation he'd taken to standing in front of. But that was alright. It was alright as long as he got to hold Heinz in his arms; as long as he was there protecting him, caring after him, loving him, he knew everything would work out.
So long as he had Heinz, the world was good.
They pulled away from each other and smiled, foreheads pressed together for but a moment before Perry put him aside to watch the screen again. He couldn't hear anything, but he could tell that Heinz was talking -- his mouth was moving, and he looked a little agitated. Perry frowned, scratching the back of his head. He'd tried buttons, levers, switches and dials, none of which had enabled him to communicate with anyone on the other side of the broadcast. Frankly, it was rather irritating.
He tried a different combination of buttons this time, and got no reaction from it other than a delayed buzzing response. Heaving a sigh, he lowered himself into the chair in front of the console and stared. Why couldn't he reach Heinz, or Lawrence, or anyone? Why couldn't they hear or see him, and for that matter, how had it happened? All these questions nagged at him as he continued to stare at the whiteness, unable to come up with a solution for the time being.
He would just have to wait.

After Hours (Single Story)
In the hushed sanctuary of Carmella’s private clinic, the sterile gleam of polished chrome and the quiet hum of monitors held sway, a world apart from the pulsing heat locked inside Lydia and Bailey’s bare forms.
Naked beneath the clinical glow, they stood poised at the edge of an experiment that stretched limits far beyond science—where every racing heartbeat might become a wave of shattering ecstasy. The air hung thick with the scent of antiseptic mingled with anticipation, an electric tension that whispered promises no protocol could fully contain.
Lydia’s pale, bronzed skin caught the faint clinical light like molten metal, muscles taut with a lithe, practiced grace honed through relentless discipline. Her athletic silhouette was an elegant contrast to Bailey’s more compact strength, the younger woman’s lean, bronzed limbs shimmering with a soft sheen of fine sweat. Bailey’s chest rose and fell with measured breaths, the faint rise of defined abdominal muscles a testament to years of unyielding training beneath the calm surface. Both women bore the unmistakable marks of cardiovascular excellence—hearts mapped in every curve, pulse throbbing visibly at throats and chests alike.
Lydia’s gaze swept over Bailey with the exacting precision of a scientist and the fire of a seductress. Her voice, low and deliberate, brushed the charged air between them. “This next phase will push the boundaries of cardiac and sensory experience, Bailey. My new aphrodisiac targets the heart itself. Each beat will send shivers and waves rippling through your body, magnifying sensation until ecstasy cascades free.”
Bailey swallowed, a flicker of nervous tension betraying her steady exterior. “It sounds… incredible. But also overwhelming,” she admitted softly, fingers flexing as if to grasp the unseen current flowing between them.
Lydia smiled, a knowing, slow curve of lips that hinted at danger and delight in equal measure. “That is why we begin with the dobutamine injection. It will elevate your cardiac output, pushing the heart to deliver with greater force and rhythm before the pill takes effect.”
The younger woman nodded, curiosity overriding hesitation as she reclined onto the cushioned examination table. The pale vinyl stretched taut beneath her athletic frame, the supple contours of her skin glowing warmly against the sterile white. Bailey’s eyes flicked upward, momentarily catching Lydia’s luminous blue, shining with that rare blend of scientific zeal and intimate promise.
From a polished tray, Lydia selected a syringe already prepared with the clear, viscous dobutamine solution. Her hands moved with deliberate confidence—graceful and exact—as she checked the dosage once more, murmuring to Bailey the pharmacologic details, her voice a weave of clinical expertise and seductive calm. “This catecholamine will increase heart rate and contractility. Your cardiovascular system will respond immediately—stronger beats, quicker pulses. It’s the perfect precursor to the aphrodisiac’s wave.”
Bailey’s pulse fluttered visibly at her throat, breaths growing ever so slightly quicker as Lydia’s fingers brushed a pale forearm with reassuring gentleness before sliding beneath her biceps to expose the skin at the crook of her elbow. Lydia’s eyes flicked up, seeking consent, before the needle slid smooth and sure, cool liquid seeping into the network of veins beneath. Bailey’s hand clenched lightly around the table’s edge, an electric tremor rippling through her frame.
Minutes passed with a charged stillness as the dobutamine coursed through Bailey’s bloodstream. The familiar flush of increased blood flow bloomed across her skin, the delicate pink expanding over cheeks, neck, and chest. Her pulse surged, palpable now against the translucent skin of her throat, throbbing in a steady, insistent rhythm that pressed outward like a drumbeat under fine glass. The Erwachte Pumpe’s monitors glowed quietly, broadcasting every nuance of Bailey’s intensified cardiac ballet.
Lydia’s voice softened as she extended the slender white pills between trembling fingers. “Now, we add the aphrodisiac. Three pillscrafted to couple every heartbeat with waves of rising pleasure.”
Together, they swallowed the small capsules, the smooth motion witnessed in soft inhalations and the barely audible clink of swallowing. The room seemed to hold its breath as the compounds began to stir. Bailey’s skin deepened to an almost fiery rose, her heart pulsing hard enough to sketch a visible rhythm beneath pale flesh. Each beat was a tempest in miniature, vibrating through muscle and bone, the relentless call of life itself.
Without hesitation, Lydia withdrew one of the wireless transmitters—the small titanium disc gleaming softly under the clinical lights. Her fingers traced the subtle valleys of Bailey’s chest before settling the device just above the apex of her heart. The cool metal kissed warm skin, an intimate contact laden with unspoken invitation.
Pressing her ear gently to the rise and fall of Bailey’s chest, Lydia inhaled the powerful cadence against her cheek. The heartbeat was a torrent of vitality—a "THUD-DUM, THUD-DUM" thundered like an ancient war drum beneath her skin, each contraction jarring the flesh in time with pounding desire.
With her free hand, Lydia slipped between Bailey’s parted thighs, fingers sliding through the slick folds, seeking the core where muscles curled in eager welcome. Her touch was practiced, precise—exploring the G-spot with exacting rhythm that danced alongside the wild beats surging in Bailey’s chest. Bailey’s breath broke free in ragged gasps, her spine arching involuntarily from the table, a fragile melody of surrender rippling through every taut fiber of muscle and nerve.
The room tightened around their shared heartbeat—the intersection of science, sensation, and raw, unfiltered hunger pulsing in relentless crescendo.
Lydia’s voice is a soft, hypnotic chant woven into the thick hum of Bailey’s relentless heartbeat. “Your ventricular walls, Bailey… perfectly sculpted. The thickness of an elite athlete, robust yet free of any pathological swelling—a masterwork of cardiac architecture.” Her words float over the electric crackle of the Erwachte Pumpe, blending science and seduction with equal measure.
Pressing her ear firmly against the swelling rise of Bailey’s chest, Lydia feels the convulsive pulses—the thunderous “THUD-DUM, THUD-DUM” reverberating in sharp, magnificent bursts beneath her skin. Each contraction jars her cheek as if the heart itself wields power to move worlds. Bailey’s breathing is ragged now, breaths ripping from her lungs in short, shuddering gasps that mark a body consumed by burgeoning fire. She sweats freely, tiny beads gleaming against bronzed skin, cascading in shimmering rivulets down sculpted limbs and along the curve of her breasts.
Her moans build, thick and wet with desire, sliding free from lips parted in abandon. The sound matches the wild thunder beneath Lydia’s ear, a desperate symphony with no pause. Lydia’s fingers, slick and deft, slide against the slick folds and trembling core, finding with practiced certainty the quivering knot beneath. The rhythm of pleasure rides in perfect tandem with the ferocious beats shaking the room.
With the gentlest cruelty, Lydia’s free hand moves beneath her own thighs, skin flashing heat as she strokes slowly, deliberately. Her breath quickens, mingling with Bailey’s gasps in a tight coil of sound and sensation. The illicit pulse of Bailey’s heart thumping violently against Lydia’s cheek sparks a wildfire beneath her skin—a maddening pulse that echoes in her own blood like a summoned tempest.
Minutes compress into seconds as Lydia’s breath falls into a steady cadence of measured observations and whispered enticements. “Observe how your stroke volume commands the entire chamber,” she murmurs, “each contraction pushing fiercely against resistance, the ejection fraction peaking at an unimaginable intensity. Your heart beats with the force of a wild drum, a tempest contained only by your will.” Her words wrap around Bailey’s senses, fanning flames brighter than medicine alone could kindle.
Bailey’s body stiffens, tense as a drawn bowstring. Her moans twist into sharp cries, her limbs clenching the table with trembling fervor. Lydia’s fingers accelerate in silky mastery, exploring depths and heights, mapping the folds and tides with intimate zeal. The pounding in Bailey’s chest intensifies—a fierce barrage beating against ribs and flesh alike. Every pulse vibrates with brutal might, shaking the sinew until her entire body hums with the promise of release.
Suddenly, the monitor’s steady rhythm distorts—skips shard every third beat, harsh and erratic as a living thing betrayed by its own power. The signal shudders with jagged desperation, rhythms lurching in a dangerous dance that cascades through the speakers like an urgent scream. Bailey’s heart falters briefly before breaking free, firing with savage acceleration that sends hot torrents pulsing through arteries and veins. The rapid onslaught bursts forth, primal and wild, as her heartbeat climbs past limits, a furious tempest blazing beneath vulnerable skin.
The air thickens with charged heat as Bailey’s orgasm crashes over her—a savage wave that wracks body and spirit with undiminished force. Her muscles convulse in waves, ribs heaving violently against the harsh rise and fall of life’s most intimate hammer. She cries out, breath splintered and wet, the sound raw and ragged as it cascades like a roar of primal power.
Drawn into the maelstrom, Lydia’s own senses spiral. The thunderous heartbeat against her cheek ignites every nerve, her body trembling as the wild storm pulses through her blood. Her fingers clutch her own skin, tracing fiery lines as the cadence overwhelms her control. A sudden cry rips from her lips, sharp and unrestrained—a wail of exquisite surrender as her heart spikes fiercely, clocking a wild one twenty beats per minute. Lydia’s mouth crashes against Bailey’s chest, a hot, desperate kiss stolen amidst the tempest of shared climax.
For long moments, the room throbs with aftermath—the primal soundtrack of two bodies shattered and reshaped by fire, by rhythm, by impossible heartbeats exploding beneath skin. Sweat mingles in trails across tangled limbs, breaths rough and rasping in chaotic harmony. Every pulse through the Erwachte Pumpe’s speakers resonates with raw truth, a fierce anthem of strength, surrender, and the inexorable power of hearts driven to the edge of ecstatic collapse.
Within the fragile silence that follows, their eyes meet—fiery pools mirroring unspoken gratitude and the shattering bonds forged in the violent, beautiful storm of this shared experiment.
The furious symphony of wild heartbeats gives way to a gentle diminuendo, rhythms unspooling and settling into harmonious quiet. On the luminous display, the pulses fold back with miraculous swiftness: Bailey’s steadfast organ slows gracefully to a commanding sixty-five beats per minute, a steady, mighty drum carved of discipline and resilience. Lydia’s heart answers in kind, easing to a poised seventy beats per minute, a measured cadence of perfected endurance. The monitors, their cool glow painting the sterile walls in pale blues and greens, attest to the peak form locked within their bodies—testaments of steel and sinew, etched in pulses and blood.
Sweat clings to their skin, thick ribbons gleaming beneath the sterile clinical light. Each breath rises in soft bursts, shallow and jagged yet suffused with a profound sense of accomplishment and fragile vulnerability. The air between them pulses with the faint scent of exertion, a mingling of heated flesh and electric possibility that makes the clinical room feel suddenly intimate, almost sacred.
Bailey’s hazel eyes, bright with equal parts scientific wonder and flushed post-orgasmic warmth, track the scrolling data streaming from the machines. Each wave and spike is a whispered story—of hypertrophied walls sculpted by years of grit, of chamber volumes perfect in balance, of conduction systems delicately poised on the razor’s edge of human limit. Her gaze glimmers with respect, both clinical and deeply personal, as she processes the implications, marveling even as her body trembles lightly with residual thrill.
Slowly, she pushes herself upright from the padded table, the movement fluid despite trembling limbs. Her muscles tighten beneath slick skin; breath escapes in soft moans, the pale light catching dew along smooth shoulders and collarbones. She parts her lips, a fragile invitation ready to spill words—thanks, admiration, wonder—yet the space stills before sound can slip free.
Lydia’s hands, strong and sure, close over Bailey’s delicate face with a sudden, commanding gentleness. The shift is abrupt—a silent declaration in motion. Fingers thread through damp hair, palms cupping soft cheeks with reverence and hunger as she pulls the younger woman forward in one seamless motion. Their lips collide, the kiss igniting in an instant like flint to tinder.
Bailey’s surprise flickers in wide eyes before dissolving into surrender. Her hands rise, tentative at first, then with growing urgency, slipping beneath Lydia’s arms as their bodies press tightly together. Skin slick and bare meets bare in a slick, electric meld, the heat and moisture of their union painting the clinical room in hues of fervent color. The kiss deepens, tongues tracing deliberate, urgent arcs, breathing melding in slow waves that echo the steady thump of their hearts now aligned in intimate tandem.
Their chests press in perfect rhythm, subtle rises and falls that signal new cadences, hearts edging up from resting beats to passionate tempos renewed by their closeness. The monitors, silent witnesses to this transformation, continue their quiet vigil, catching the subtle upticks—numbers shifting gently upward, heart rates dancing in lockstep as breath and pulse intertwine.
Fingers roam boldly, tracing contours long studied in the sanctity of clinical observation but now cherished with raw, personal devotion. Every stolen breath, every shared sigh, weaves a delicate story—two lives merged not just in science but in the vulnerability and promise that follows discovery. The sterile walls no longer separate, but enfold them in a cocoon of shared heat and whispered longing.
Their kiss lingers, a slow burn trailing from mouth to neck, from skin to soul—a silent vow written in rising heartbeats and the tender clasp of arms. It is a moment both triumphant and fragile, the triumphant close of an experiment that began with data and desire and now finds itself blossoming into something more profound and uncharted.
As their hearts beat onward—steady, sure, and increasingly unrestrained—the line between professional rigor and passionate embrace fades into soft shadow. In the quiet glow of monitors and sweat, in the charged silence between moans and heartbeat, a new chapter begins—one of promise, of connection, of bodies and souls entwined beneath the pale clinical light.

What are the dangers of reliance of social media for public health campaigns? Suggest some methods of overcoming that problem?
Introduction
With the rise of social media usage, which has shown significant growth since its inception in 1997, users connect into their preferred social media platforms worldwide and spend hours there (Woodward 2023). Social media offers a practical and approachable medium for disseminating health information to a broad audience as it is used by health groups and experts to provide information on a variety of subjects, such as illness prevention, healthy lifestyles, and treatments (Rajshri & Malloy 2023). According to (Leung 2022), this is a potent instrument that allows us to quickly communicate targeted health messages to significant portions of the public but with it, it develops into a powerful platform for the mass broadcast of false information, creating a risk to public health. However, to every problem, there is a solution.
Tumblr media
The Dangers of Reliance of Social Media
For current monitoring efforts, organizations like the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network of the World Health Organization (WHO) rely on online sources because data were not acquired using any conventional technique (Muacevic et.al 2023). According to research by (Eysenbach & Fagherazzi 2020), the majority of underdeveloped nations struggle mightily to stop the spread of infectious illnesses because of poor medical infrastructure and a lack of funding and in people’s knowledge of infectious illnesses causes behavioural changes among the people, which represents partial therapy given the seeming lack of these nations’ health care systems.
According to (Austin 2022), users of social media frequently worry about the possibility of their personal data being taken and at the start of 2018, social media-related problems accounted for over 4.5 billion or more than 56% of the compromised data records. Violations of patient privacy, the use of obscene or discriminating language, pictures of sexual suggestiveness or drunkenness, derogatory remarks about patient, a workplace, or a school are all examples of conduct that might be viewed as unprofessional and these public blunders by healthcare professionals have been reported, including doctors releasing “tweets” that are damaging to a person or the profession or taking digital photos while doing surgery (Ventola 2014).
One of the other problems faced in 2018 is that almost three-fourths of the most popular health stories had inaccurate or misleading material in result of majority of users on social media only reading the title and skip over the content due to worry of false information (Austin 2022). According to (Gisondi & Strehlow 2022), fake news has been claimed to encounter social media by almost 60% of Singaporeans and as a result of this, during COVID-19, people in Singapore would have been exposed to a lot of false information.
Tumblr media
It is without a doubt that negative comments are one of the problems faced by people and this is a serious issue, sure that people may want to say something bad but it doesn’t necessarily make it true. According to (Austin 2022), the lack of control one has over social media in healthcare is another disadvantage whereby negative comments will inevitably appear on the content one publishes, and everyone’s social media page will display them.
Ways to Overcome the Problem of the Public’s Reliance on Social Media
The establishment of social media usage policies for employees might be advantageous for healthcare organizations and discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, disclosure of private or proprietary information, harm to organization’s reputation, productivity and other concerns should all be covered by policies (Ventola 2014). According to (Ventola 2014), a variety of worries about online publication of images or other patient information that would violate federal or state privacy laws or might interfere with patient treatment could be allayed by the implementation of such procedures. This is to ensure that the healthcare providers would protect the patient’s privacy and confidentiality.
Another research by (Ghahramani et.al 2022) shows that minimising the spread of false information and raising public awareness of reliable health-related information are a few examples of the functions that can influence the outcomes important to the assessment of the effects of social media on public health. In order to convince individuals that the evidence supporting the issue is valid and to gently sway them away from copying their preferred social media model, social media in public health concerns must be addressed delicately (MPH online 2023). Another way is to improve real-time disease surveillance, disease control and mitigation and screening or treatment interventions (Ghahramani et.al 2022).
Journals and conferences are popular resources for medical practitioners to stay current on new research and they can make use of social media to spread this knowledge to the students (Beveridge 2023). The WHO has consequently urged for the proactive use of social media platforms to distribute information on health concerns, especially on emerging infectious illnesses, to unspecialized individuals and the general public (Eysenbach & Fagherazzi 2020). The method of combating the negative comments is to educate of the public on how to cite the resources from the correct sources.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
In a nutshell, there are many problems faced when trying to digitalize the public health campaigns. This includes the violation of the public’s private information, spreading of false information and lack of control from the healthcare professional. With our friends the @thylakindustrial now settled into their temporary homes on Marta II, the @guildsre Music Guilds have planned a grand outdoor concert in conjunction with the Ministry of Galactic Affairs, with all proceeds from the concert going toward the Thylak Refugee Fund, to aid in post-war reconstruction once the Thylak are able to return home. The concert will be held this coming Saturday, I am told - and will be broadcast live for all nations and planets to see!
Tumblr media
In more serious news, the Ministry of Defense has confirmed a report brought to us by @elconsystems refugees of several large-scale protests taking place within Elcon space. These protests are rumored to be part of a larger movement led by those who support the Nocle Commonality and their ideology of alien tolerance and friendship.
The protests have been ruthlessly put down, the refugees say, and many have been sent to detention camps. "It is just another sad display of cruel acts by the Systems and their government." said Minister of Defense Ka'plet today, announcing the news. "We continue to hope that the people of the Systems will eventually be free of such a cruel and oppressive regime, and cast aside these old and barbaric ways of xenophobia and slavery."
Nocle officials say that the news does not surprise them in the slightest, owing to the "supreme disgrace upon our people that the Systems and their ways have imposed."
Tumblr media
We'll continue to monitor things regarding the Elcon, friends. A peaceful solution seems unlikely, but you can't fault us Darexi for hoping! Friendship, peace and unity should be for all people.
Chancellor Caloxi sends her greetings and friendship to all who may read our messages here! She's become interested in writing one of these reports herself, so stay tuned!

Celebrating Small Wins: Reflections on the First Five Years of my Career
Time flies indeed. As of last Sunday, it's been exactly five years since my "first day in the real world." I know I still have a long way to go, and so much to learn, but I want to appreciate the progress I've made in the past five years.
I've had several part-time jobs back in college but it was on August 20, 2018 when I first reported to work full-time. I was a Media Writer (aka Broadcast Monitor) at Asia's leading media intelligence company, Isentia. Whenever I reached the office, I texted my parents "Happy place na" to let them know I got safe.
I stayed for two years before I got laid off, which triggered feelings that led to this article. (And an open letter to my colleagues/friends on my personal blog)
Looking back, I will always be grateful for my time as a Media Writer. It wasn't easy, I spent countless hours beyond my shift because I wanted to give my best in each of the 41283 summaries I've done for two years.
For five months, I commuted from Los Banos, Laguna to Ortigas everyday, and vice versa, before we were finally able to rent a 5 sqm room in Manila. That was the only room we could afford back then.
There were struggles and days when I wanted to give up. But I've also grown a lot, gained meaningful friendships, strengthened my faith in the Lord, and developed my work ethic.
It was worth it.
I remember often feeling so drained and tired on my way home, but I still looked forward to the next day so I could do my job again. I love learning new things everyday, and this job gave me that opportunity.
If there was one word that would describe my work ethic, that would be Passion. I always put passion and love in every task that I did.
More than a year later, I'm astonished that Isentia has recognized that passion. My teammate and friend Morris Manalaysay nominated me for the Isentia Awards Q1 recognition (without me knowing) and on Nov 21 2019, I was Manila's Isentia Awards Q1 winner alongside colleagues from different countries. That was my first career milestone.
I was so happy Momi got to see this day before she went to heaven. She was so proud, and I'm grateful I got to tell her it's all because of her and Dad that I get to survive each day and reach these milestones. All that I am and all that I ever will be, I owe it to them.
Isentia has been very supportive during my Mom's fight with cancer and raised funds for her, too. When Momi died in 2020, they also supported me in my grieving. I took a break and they only asked me to go back when I was ready.
When I was laid off, my separation anxiety was so strong, especially since I've been close with my batchmates and team friends as if we were high school classmates. (I'm glad we're friends until today even when we're in different companies already.)
Good journeys come to an end, too, for new and better chapters to unfold.
Chapter II
Getting laid off was bittersweet. I said goodbye to a job that I loved but it also led to better opportunities. I've been a Content Writer at Sevron Safety Solutions, worked on various projects for over a year. I got to do things I never tried before and wrote almost everything from blogs, social media posts, courses for The Knights of Safety™️, email campaigns, assessment tests for applicants, pillar pages, cluster pages, technical documents, and more. But my favorite task of all was writing the life stories of my colleagues, which was compiled into an internal book. As a storyteller, creative nonfiction is my favorite form of writing.
I'm also grateful we always aimed to change the world and save lives in each task. This meant a lot to me because I value meaningful work. Dale Allen was possibly the most passionate CEO/founder I've ever worked for. We had a therapist and life coach, too, Markos Yiannis, who had been so helpful in addressing our concerns, whether it's personal or work-related.
But one day, I was included in the layoffs again.
Chapter III
And that was when the plot twist happened. I returned to Isentia! This time, I was reporting to Isentia Singapore. Thanks to Ms Lady Ochel Espinosa, Regional Insights Director for Emerging Markets in Southeast Asia for encouraging me to apply for the role of Senior Insights Analyst in 2021. It was my dream job since 2018. I applied for the role of Insights Analyst in 2020, but I didn't get in. When I got laid off that year, Ms Ochel invited me to apply again, but I was already hired at Sevron. It was my "the one that got away". I'm grateful I got to pursue it in 2022. My favorite task was being part of our PH Elections white paper which was featured by media outlets. My favorite SG client was AIC.
However, I later on realized that as much as this was a truly great opportunity with so much learning and growth, what I really wanted to do was content writing instead of media analysis. I'll always be grateful I reached my dream of being a Senior Insights Analyst, but I realized it wasn't for me.
So after a year, for the first time, I resigned.
I love the company. I love the team. But I had to go. And find my passion.
But no matter where my career takes me, Isentia will always have a special place in my heart.
Chapter IV:
I applied to several Writer job openings. There was this one opening for Content Writer, but during the interview, they said the role was actually article moderation. Then I went through three challenging interviews and thankfully, I passed as an Article Moderator at iOPEX Technologies. Three months later, I became a Senior Article Moderator. And in my sixth month, I was recognized as the Top Overall Performer and agent with Top Attendance.
As much as it's fulfilling to be recognized for having good performance, I'm just as grateful for maintaining a good attendance. I have five rides to the office every day, encounter some floods along the way when it's raining, commute as early as 12AM, 3AM, 4AM, or 10PM depending on our shift, and so far, I've never been late yet since I started in February 🥹 I'm not saying I'll never be late, although that's the goal, but I just feel grateful and lucky that I was never late yet. Grateful, because everyday is a struggle, but I'm surviving it through God's grace. Lucky, because I know there are things outside our control that make tardiness inevitable and valid sometimes, but so far those things haven't affected me yet. So thank you po, Lord.
I believe in celebrating small wins just as we treasure huge milestones, and each time we report to work, each time we punch out after a long tiring day, each hour that we meet our quota, those are daily wins worth celebrating.
I'm glad to be back in the world of news, just like in my first job. From monitoring to moderating :)
There may be struggles and challenges, but I appreciate the job and the team. Very blessed to work with proactive teammates who happen to be good friends as well. (By the way, we are hiring! Let me know if you want to apply haha I doubt if anyone will read this lengthy story time but just in case, I'm putting this out here).
I was looking for Content Writing, but I found something else. And I enjoy it.
I realized, my adviser was right. it's okay to be open to new opportunities other than my passions. I shouldn't limit myself to writing.
What they say is true: you'll never know until you try. (I'm still writing everyday now, though, but in my journal or my verbose Instagram stories which are literally stories because of their long captions 🤣)
I'm grateful for each job I've had and currently have. My Dad and I were also able to transfer to a much better, bigger apartment unit (about 21 sqm?) since October 18, 2020. Thanks to the severance pay from Isentia 😅 Indeed, "All things work together for the good of those who love God." (Romans 8:28)
There are plenty of dreams that are yet to be fulfilled, but for now, I want to cherish the fact that I'm already living what I only once dreamt of.
I may not have been (or not yet?) a startup founder and CEO, or UNHRC/UNCHR diplomat, or New York Times bestselling author, or Miss Universe (😅) just like my younger self dreamt of, but I'm still thankful for the progress I've made. It's not much, but to my younger self, this is already a miracle. Sometimes imposter syndrome hits me, but I fight it by appreciating my hard work.
I look back at my first job, the struggle of commuting from LB to Ortigas each day, the struggle of squeezing ourselves in a 5 sqm room, the struggle of making ends meet, and I just feel so blessed to be where I am now. We haven't reached financial freedom yet but little by little, we're on our way.
To my future self, I don't know where you'll be, but I hope I've made you proud as well.
At the end of the day, all wins, big and small, are because of God's grace. His faithfulness carries me through every single day. As always, without Him, I can do nothing.
To everyone who's been part of this journey, thank you for the memories and lessons you've shared with me. And thank you for the moments we have yet to share.
To Momi, how I wish you're still here to celebrate our small and big wins but I know you're watching over us everyday. I'll do my best to keep making you proud up there. 🥹
To Apa, Dad, I'm so glad you're here with me. All that I accomplish each day is a result of how much you believe in me. I have many dreams in life but my greatest dream is to see you live up to 104 years old.
Thank you Lord Jesus for sustaining me in the first five years of my career. I surrender to You the bigger picture and the little details that make up each day.
Here's to the journey that lies ahead and to the growth that awaits ❤️
(PS. If you've read this far, message me an emoji. I just want to conduct an experiment char haha I'm just curious who was patient enough to read all this but I doubt if anyone will read this all 🤣. It's okay though. I had fun releasing this out of my chest 🥹)

Major telecommunications companies are investing heavily in 5G infrastructure, with projected cumulative investments exceeding $1 trillion globally by 2030, driving parallel growth in supporting technologies like video multiplexers.
Smart City Deployments Fueling Surveillance Sector Demand
Urban surveillance systems are increasingly incorporating video multiplexers to manage the growing volumes of CCTV footage from smart city projects. Modern multiplexers can process inputs from thousands of cameras while maintaining high-resolution output for security monitoring. With over 500 smart city projects currently active worldwide, each deploying hundreds to thousands of cameras, the market for surveillance-grade multiplexers is experiencing 20-25% annual growth. Advanced features like AI-enabled threat detection and automatic camera switching are further enhancing the value proposition of these systems in public safety applications.
MARKET RESTRAINTS
Latency Issues in Real-Time Applications Challenge Market Penetration
While video multiplexers offer bandwidth efficiency, they often introduce processing delays that can impact time-sensitive applications. In live broadcasting scenarios, particularly sports and news coverage, even milliseconds of latency can create synchronization issues between multiple camera angles. The most advanced multiplexers currently achieve latency figures around 50-100ms, which remains problematic for applications requiring sub-30ms performance. This technical limitation restricts adoption in fields like live esports production and high-frequency trading surveillance where real-time performance is critical.
High Implementation Costs Deter Small-Scale Operators
The substantial capital expenditure required for professional-grade video multiplexing systems presents a significant barrier to entry for smaller media companies and local broadcasters. Entry-level systems capable of handling 4-8 HD streams typically start above $5,000, while enterprise solutions for major broadcast centers can exceed $500,000. Additionally, the specialized hardware requirements often necessitate costly infrastructure upgrades, including high-capacity storage solutions and specialized networking equipment. These financial barriers limit market expansion among budget-conscious operators in developing regions and niche markets.
Standardization Challenges Across Regions
The lack of universal standards in video compression protocols creates compatibility issues that hinder seamless market growth. While many regions have adopted H.265/HEVC as the standard for high-efficiency video coding, different countries implement varying profiles and extensions of the standard. This fragmentation forces manufacturers to produce region-specific hardware variants, increasing development costs and complicating supply chain management. The ongoing transition to newer codecs like AV1 and VVC further compounds these challenges during the interim adoption period.
MARKET OPPORTUNITIES
Cloud-Based Multiplexing Solutions Present New Revenue Streams
The shift towards virtualized broadcasting infrastructure is creating demand for software-defined video multiplexing solutions. Cloud-based multiplexers eliminate the need for expensive hardware while offering superior scalability – a single virtual instance can typically handle twice the number of streams as equivalent hardware at 40% lower operational costs. Major cloud providers are actively developing media-specific services, with the cloud video processing market projected to grow at 28% CAGR through 2030. This transition enables broadcasters to implement flexible pay-as-you-go models while reducing their physical infrastructure footprint.
AI Integration Enhances Smart Streaming Capabilities
Advanced machine learning algorithms are being incorporated into next-generation multiplexers to optimize content delivery dynamically. AI-enabled systems can analyze network conditions in real-time to adjust bitrates, prioritize critical streams, and even predict bandwidth requirements before congestion occurs. Such intelligent multiplexers have demonstrated 15-20% improvements in bandwidth utilization during peak periods. The technology shows particular promise for adaptive bitrate streaming applications, where it can reduce buffering incidents by up to 35% while maintaining consistent video quality across diverse viewing devices.
Emerging Markets Offer Untapped Growth Potential
Developing regions present significant expansion opportunities as digital infrastructure improves across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. With internet penetration in these regions expected to grow by 150-200% over the next decade, local content providers require cost-effective solutions to manage their expanding viewer bases. Localized product offerings featuring simplified interfaces and regional language support could capture substantial market share from global players. Additionally, government initiatives promoting digital broadcasting transitions and rural connectivity programs are creating favorable conditions for video multiplexer adoption in these high-growth markets.
VIDEO MULTIPLEXER MARKET TRENDS
High-Definition and Ultra-High-Definition Content Demand Driving Market Growth
The increasing consumption of high-definition (HD) and ultra-high-definition (UHD) content across broadcasting, streaming, and telecommunications sectors is significantly bolstering the demand for advanced video multiplexers. With over 78% of global internet traffic now attributed to video content, providers are investing heavily in bandwidth-efficient transmission technologies. Modern video multiplexers enable efficient compression and transmission of multiple HD/UHD streams over single channels, reducing infrastructure costs while maintaining quality. The integration of AI-driven adaptive bitrate streaming further enhances this efficiency, creating new opportunities across OTT platforms and IPTV services.
Other Trends
Edge Computing Integration
The deployment of edge computing infrastructure is enabling distributed video processing architectures. Leading multiplexer manufacturers now offer solutions that perform transcoding and packaging at the network edge, reducing backbone bandwidth requirements by 40-60%. This trend aligns with the growing demand for localized content delivery in smart city applications and targeted advertising scenarios.
Regulatory Push for Spectrum Efficiency
Governments worldwide are implementing stricter spectrum efficiency regulations, compelling broadcasters and telecom operators to upgrade their multiplexing infrastructure. Recent FCC rulings on repurposing C-band spectrum for 5G, for instance, have accelerated the adoption of advanced statistical multiplexing techniques that can deliver 20-30% more channels within existing frequency allocations. Similar regulatory pressures in Europe and Asia-Pacific are driving replacement cycles for legacy equipment, creating a $2.1 billion annual retrofit opportunity through 2027.
