MMMMM angsty thoughts about the adjustment period after Viggo got burned.
Adjusting to not having full vision. Fucked depth perception. Trying to grab something and missing it by an inch or so because of said fucked depth perception and feeling embarrassed even if no one saw. Missing steps when going up or down stairs and tripping.
Hypervigilance and constantly turning around to make sure nobody is sneaking up on his blind side. Adjusting to just having a blind side in general.
The pain of the burns themselves. Having to make sure the blisters don't get infected and that they just generally heal okay. FUCKING FEELING UNATTRACTIVE AND I SAY THIS BECAUSE THAT MAN WEARS EYELINER AND IS ONE OF THE MOST PUT TOGETHER VILLAINS WE HAVE. HIS FUCKING SWORD IS BEJEWELED. YOU CAN'T CONVINCE ME HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HIS APPEARANCE.
Feeling alone! He lost his brother, half of his sight, the dragon eye, and the temporary partnership he'd managed to get with Hiccup all in one day pretty much. Bro no doubt felt like a complete FAILURE for a while afterwards. That man SUFFERED and I wanna SEE IT.

I didn't draw it(because It's a recently added concept to his design), but Abaddon has a huge burn scar spanning from his upper arm to the lower part of his neck, which is due to a ton of holy water hitting him around there thanks to a cruel scientist having holy water on hand to injure him with, and since he's a demon; holy water damages a demon's skin exactly like how a splash of corrosive acid can melt the skin of humans and animals.

This is a bit of a rough draft of his face, but here's the main antagonist of Caught in a State of Unease.
His name's Asii'ar, the torn mouth isn't canon but my hand decided to give him a torn mouth so now he has a torn mouth. Yippee!
I am abysmal at drawing humans in general but apparently burn marks are my worst enemy. Second only to hands. BUT! We might be getting official art for one of the chapters!

Filing a Burn Injury Claim for Scalding Accidents in Pennsylvania
Tumblr media
If you are reading this, it might be because you or someone you love has suffered a scalding injury. This can be a scary and confusing time. You may be feeling unsure about what to do next. You are not alone. Many people in Pennsylvania have been in your shoes. We understand how upsetting and painful these accidents can be. You may be worried about medical bills, time missed from work, and how you are going to heal. That’s why we are here. If you are looking for help with a scalding injury case, we want to walk with you through it, every step of the way.
What is a Scalding Injury
A scalding injury happens when your skin comes into contact with something very hot, usually a liquid like boiling water, hot oil, or steam. These injuries can happen in many places like restaurants, nursing homes, workplaces, or even in your own home. When the skin is burned by hot liquid, it can peel, blister, or even get deeply damaged. These burns can cause lasting scars, a lot of pain, and may need long medical treatments. Some people might even need surgery or skin grafts. These injuries are not only painful but can also change your life.
How These Accidents Happen
Scalding burns can happen in many ways. Sometimes it's from hot drinks spilled by a server in a restaurant. Sometimes it happens in a nursing home, where hot bath water burns a patient who can’t move quickly. Other times, it can happen at work when someone spills hot oil or chemicals. In many cases, these accidents could have been avoided if someone had taken better care or followed safety rules. If the injury happened because someone else was careless, you may have the right to file a claim. That means asking for money to help pay for your injuries and the pain you’ve been through.
Your Rights Under Pennsylvania Law
In Pennsylvania, if someone else’s actions caused your scalding injury, you have the right to seek compensation. This means you may be able to get money for things like medical bills, lost wages, pain, and the emotional distress you have experienced. This is called a personal injury claim. You need to show that someone else was careless or did not do what they were supposed to do to keep you safe. For example, a business that did not warn you about hot liquids or a nursing home that didn’t check water temperature can be held responsible. The law is on your side, but it is important to act quickly. There are time limits for when you can file your case, so it’s important not to wait too long.
What You Need to Prove
To win a scalding injury case, you need to show that someone else caused your injury and that it could have been prevented. You will need to show that the person or business had a duty to keep you safe and that they failed to do that. You also have to show that their actions directly led to your injury. This might sound hard, but with the right help, it can be done. Things like witness statements, photos, medical records, and reports can be used to build your case. You do not have to figure this out alone. That’s why having a strong legal team makes a big difference.
Common Places Where These Accidents Happen
Scalding accidents are sadly common in certain places. One common place is in nursing homes, where older adults may be left alone in baths with water that is too hot. Restaurants and coffee shops are another place where spills of hot drinks or soups can cause burns. Factories and work sites may have hot steam, oil, or chemicals that can spill. Even in schools or daycares, children can be hurt if water from a sink or drink is too hot. In all these places, the people in charge are supposed to keep everyone safe. If they don’t, they may be held accountable.
The Impact of Scalding Burns
Burn injuries are not only painful but can change your life. Even small burns can take weeks or months to heal. Some leave behind scars that can last forever. Others can make it hard for you to move certain parts of your body. Some people need surgery or many doctor visits. There are also emotional effects. After a bad injury, people can feel scared, anxious, or even depressed. This is why filing a claim is not just about getting money. It’s about getting help to recover and move on with your life.
Why Legal Help Matters
Filing a claim can seem like a lot of work. There are many steps, and the other side may try to say it was your fault or that your injuries are not that bad. That’s why having someone who knows how these cases work is important. A legal team can help you gather the right papers, talk to the right people, and make sure your case is as strong as possible. We work hard to make sure your voice is heard and that you are treated fairly.
Steps to Take After a Scalding Accident
If you or someone close to you is burned by hot liquid, the first step is always to get medical help. Even if the burn seems small, it can get worse over time. Make sure to keep any records from the doctor or hospital. If the accident happened in a public place or at work, report it to a manager or supervisor right away. If you can, take pictures of what caused the burn. Keep track of anything that shows what happened and how it has affected your life. The more information you have, the stronger your claim will be.
Time Limits You Should Know
Pennsylvania law gives you only a certain amount of time to file a claim after an injury. This is called the statute of limitations. For most injury cases in Pennsylvania, you have two years from the date of the accident to file. That might sound like a long time, but it goes by quickly. Gathering the right information, talking to doctors, and building a case can take time. It’s best to start as soon as you can so you don’t lose the chance to get help.
Getting the Justice You Deserve
A scalding injury can turn your life upside down. But filing a claim can help you get the care, support, and justice you deserve. It’s not just about the injury. It’s about what you need to heal. This includes doctor bills, therapy, time away from work, and the pain you’ve gone through. A successful case means you can focus on getting better instead of worrying about how you will pay for everything. The goal is to help you move forward.
How to Take the First Step
You might still have questions. That’s okay. Every case is different, and your story matters. If you are thinking about filing a claim or just want to know your rights, we are here to help. You don’t have to go through this alone. Talking to someone about your case is the first step. We are here to listen and to give you clear, simple answers.
If you or someone you love has suffered a scalding injury in Pennsylvania, now is the time to take action. You deserve support, answers, and justice. At McDonald At Law, we help people like you get results. Our team is ready to hear your story and guide you through your case. Call us today and let us help you get the recovery you need and the justice you deserve.

Burn Injuries: First Aid and When to Visit a Trauma Center
Burn injuries are among the most common household accidents, and they can range from minor to life-threatening. Knowing how to administer immediate first aid and when to seek professional help is crucial in minimizing damage and promoting healing. If you or someone around you suffers a burn, understanding these steps could make a significant difference in the outcome.
Tumblr media
Types of Burn Injuries
Burns are classified into three categories based on the severity of the damage they cause:
First-Degree Burns: These burns affect only the outer layer of the skin (epidermis). They are usually characterized by redness, minor swelling, and pain. First-degree burns typically heal within a few days and do not usually require professional medical treatment unless they cover a large area or involve the face or joints.
Second-Degree Burns: These burns extend beyond the epidermis to the second layer of skin (dermis). Symptoms include intense pain, redness, swelling, and blisters. Second-degree burns may require medical attention, especially if they cover a large area, as they pose a risk of infection and scarring.
Third-Degree Burns: Third-degree burns are the most severe, damaging all layers of the skin and possibly affecting underlying tissues. These burns may appear white, charred, or leathery and may be numb due to nerve damage. Third-degree burns always require emergency medical attention, often necessitating specialized care at a trauma center.
Immediate First Aid for Burns
Administering proper first aid can significantly reduce the severity of a burn injury and prevent complications. Here are the steps to follow:
Stop the Burning Process: Remove the person from the source of the burn. If clothing is on fire, help them stop, drop, and roll to extinguish the flames. Remove any hot or burning clothing, but do not remove clothing that is stuck to the skin.
Cool the Burn: Immediately cool the burn under cool (not cold) running water for at least 10-15 minutes. This helps to reduce pain, swelling, and the risk of further skin damage. Do not use ice, as it can cause additional tissue damage.
Cover the Burn: After cooling, cover the burn with a sterile, non-stick dressing or a clean cloth. Avoid using cotton or fluffy materials that might stick to the wound. Covering the burn helps protect it from infection.
Avoid Home Remedies: Do not apply butter, oils, or other home remedies to a burn. These can trap heat and worsen the injury. Also, avoid breaking any blisters, as this increases the risk of infection.
Stay Hydrated: Burns can cause dehydration, so encourage the burn victim to drink plenty of fluids, especially if the burn covers a large area.
When to Visit a Trauma Center in Indore
While minor burns can often be treated at home, more severe burns require prompt medical attention, particularly at a specialized trauma center. Here are signs that you should seek immediate care at a trauma center in Indore:
Burns Covering a Large Area: If the burn covers more than 10% of the body surface area, it is crucial to seek medical care.
Third-Degree Burns: These burns require specialized treatment and may necessitate surgical intervention.
Burns Involving Critical Areas: Burns on the face, hands, feet, genitals, or over major joints need urgent care to prevent complications like scarring and loss of function.
Signs of Infection: If a burn shows signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, pus, or a foul odor, it is essential to visit a trauma center for treatment.
Difficulty Breathing: Burns from fires or explosions that may have caused smoke inhalation require emergency treatment, even if the external burns appear minor.
Electrical Burns: These can cause internal injuries that are not visible on the skin’s surface and should always be evaluated by a medical professional.
Chemical Burns: Burns caused by chemicals often require specialized treatment to neutralize the chemical and prevent further damage.
Conclusion
Understanding how to properly administer first aid for burns and recognizing when to visit a trauma center in Indore can be life-saving. For minor burns, basic first aid may suffice, but severe burns necessitate immediate medical attention. If you or someone you know suffers from a significant burn injury, don't hesitate to seek professional care at a trauma center. Timely intervention can make a critical difference in recovery and long-term outcomes.
At V One Hospital, Indore, our trauma center is equipped with the expertise and facilities to provide comprehensive care for burn injuries. Whether it’s a minor burn or a severe case requiring advanced treatment, our team is here to help you heal and recover.

Here's the redo of the story "caught in a blast." This time, I changed it to be about Antoni, an ex crimson saint who rebelled against the Almagis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All that Antoni remembered was cussing out his former boss through a holographic intercom. The dictator/boss didn't take kindly to this and turned on the self destruction chips embedded in the armor that Antoni wore.
A bright flash of light and a feeling of acceptance washed over Antoni.
He thought that he had died, but that wasn't the case, he felt a stinging pain throughout his body. His head was hurting the worst.
His eyes opened to the blurry sight of a cottage, as a bitter taste was in his mouth.
He coughed, slightly choking on the medicinal slurry given to him.
"Easy does it, son. You're badly hurt, it's best that you take it easy." An elderly voice said.
His sight focused on an old Nuross who was sat in a chair near where Antoni laid.
"W-what happened?" Antoni asked, his throat dry and sore.
"My grandson saw an explosion nearby, he found you in really bad shape, you've been out for awhile now. " the Elder said.
Antoni tried to sit up from where his injured body was propped, a white hot pain jolting through his nerves, his head swam as he laid back down, trying to clear the black spots and stars in his vision.
"Woah, don't get up so soon, son; you suffered a ton of injuries. " the Elder said.
Antoni let out a sigh. "How bad was the damage?" He asked.
"A concussion, broken ribs, a broken arm, a ton of wounds caused by shrapnel and fire, and a badly broken leg, I hate to break it to ya; but I had to amputate that leg." The Elder explained.
Antoni couldn't believe it, he had lost one of his legs. In a panic, he pulled back the quilt that covered him; revealing a stump where one of his legs used to be.  He was in shock, breathing quickly at the sight.
"Please calm down, sir." The Elder said, trying to calm Antoni down.
Eventually; Antoni calmed down, laying back onto the bed, he felt the quilt being pulled back up to his chest.
How was he gonna deal with this? He had lost a leg and was badly hurt, as he closed his eyes again and fell back into sleep.

I have science to back this up and what it would feel like! All from google
Of 104 patients interviewed 1 yr or more after a burn injury, 82% reported paresthetic sensations such as tingling, stiffness, cold sensations, and numbness; and 35% complained of pain in the scarred tissue.
While each type of scarring has its own unique characteristics, all three types can cause permanent changes in the physical appearance of burn victims' skin. For many burn victims, this scarring also causes permanent physical limitations (i.e., limited mobility) as well as chronic pain.
Neuropathic pain: pain that is often described as shooting, burning, and can also feel like pins and needles or stabbing. This type of pain is caused by nerves damaged by the burn injury.
Depending on the severity of the burn, physical pain can linger for weeks or even months, or in some cases for the rest of the victim's life. Physical pain can significantly impact all aspects of the victim's life, such as the ability or inability to go back to work, sleeping, and engaging in everyday activities.
I have a personal headcanon that Azriel suffers from chronic pain in his hands due to them not healing properly. I see him trying to hide the fact that the scar tissue flares up here and there, especially when he’s exerted himself far beyond his capacity. I see Gwyn noticing how he clenches his fingers, his jaw tight, and how his hands shake during his “episodes.” I see her sitting with his hands in her lap, massaging a healing salve into his skin and then gently kissing his hands each time he feels pain—she wants him to associate his hands with positive connotation, and not negative.
I’m not even sure if SJM has it in her belt to touch on chronic pain, especially with the type of injury that Azriel experienced. I do, however, want her to find a way for him to view his hands as good instead of bad.
