Why Pashmina Winter Collection is the Best for the Wedding Season?
Pashmina fabric- Timeless Elegance
Tumblr media
Pashmina fabric is considered as the finest fabric in the world, crafted from exceptionally soft and delicate cashmere threads. ‘Pashm’ refers to the flee of Changthangi goat which is and Urdu word and originated from Farsi. The changthangi goat can only be found 15000 feet above the sea in Ladakh, which makes it even more precious and rare. You will be amazed with the fact that the Pashmina word comes from ‘pashm’ word which is of Persian meaning soft gold. This is because of the softness and the fineness of the cashmere wool from which it is made. Therefore, it makes pashmina shawl incredibly soft, warm, and appealing. Earlier in the ancient times, from the local Mughals to the western emperor, cashmere Pashmina shawls were considered as a symbol of status.
Kashmiri pashmina shawls carry a century- old reputation for being ‘simplicity is the best’ which makes them an enshrined treasure all over the world.  A pashmina is a luxurious cloth to look at, touch, and feel smooth on the skin. They are known for their desirable quality, but it’s the heritage and authenticity of pashmina that makes them most desirable.
New Pashmina winter collection for wedding this season
Today pashmina has been used to make variety of products, such as pashmina scarf, co-ord set, shawls, salwar suit and warm winter dresses. One of the most attractive quality is that it feels light and feathery to wear, but yet is incredibly warm. With a collection of pashmina fabrics to suit every taste, ganga fashion is bringing you the latest wedding winter Collection. Below is the new trendy winter collection for the wedding. Read more

Guide to Building a Classic Wardrobe
I was asked a long time ago by an anon for a guide to build a wardrobe. This style caters to someone mature, slightly conservative, NOT fashionnova-esque, something that will last a long time in all fashion seasons, provided you look after your items well. I live in a relatively hot climate and the coldest temperature I’ve experienced when living in a place is like 10 degree Celsius, so I will admit that I am not very well versed with living in cold climates for a prolonged period of time (I don’t think a 2 week trip to Switzerland in the summer counts as “cold”).
I have purposely built with keeping neutrals in mind. I’ve learned that its best to first build a neutral coloured wardrobe in mind, then start adding colour to it. You might find this wardrobe boring, but if you work in a corporate environment/ somewhere where you can’t showcase too much colour or creativity/ if you come from a relatively conservative/ high profile-but-not-entertainment /modest culture, you’ll find this useful.
ALWAYS keep an eye on the material of the item you are buying. If you have to buy a sweater and you live in a cold climate, buy cashmere. Yes, it will be expensive, but it will keep you warm and last longer. If you live in a hot climate, invest in tops and dresses made out of pure cotton. Material plays a huge role in the climate you live in.
I do not endorse fast fashion or over-consumerism but I understand that it is affordable. I would therefore recommend you to buy things carefully and with consideration, not just for the sake of the environment but for your wallet. It’s better to buy 1 quality item than 10 horribly made, short-lasting items.
Never mix more than 3 colours in your outfit at a time. That’s something my father taught me, and I recommend you stick to it, especially if you’re new to building a serious wardrobe.
Lastly, do not be enthralled by what influencers buy or wear. I can guarantee you that the clothes they wear on Instagram aren’t even theirs half the time. Don’t fall into the trap of micro trends.

NEED TO MAKE RENT SALE
As you may have seen I'm selling some of my handspun yarn, along with some fleece, batts, rolags, and other odds and ends. I'm really short on rent this month, largely due to having so many flare up days that working was almost impossible. So, I'm selling some of my work in the hopes that I can still make rent somehow. I need over $500.
Im also linking to my kofi. If you don't wish to buy anything but still want to help me make rent--which I would appreciate so much <3
I'll be updating this post as I sell things so please make sure to click back to my original post to check if it's still available. First come first serve. Unless otherwise stated, all shipping is $5 USD to within the USA. If you're outside of the USA please let me know--shipping will likely be between $30-50 USD depending on to where, but I am happy to work with you if you're interested.
PLEASE DM ME IF YOU WANT TO BUY SOMETHING <3

YARNS (please ignore the slips of paper, ive given everything a nice label now)
A: 572 yards/ 480 meters. 5.75 oz/ 165 grams. 2 ply, approximately DK weight. Silk and merino blend assembled by myself. There are stripes of different greens which are arranged to be bigger at one end than the other, so a triangle shawl (working from the correct end of yarn) will have stripes that are more or less even instead of getting thicker near the narrow end of the shawl. I don't know how noticeable the effect will be, though. Silky soft and shines beautifully in the sun. $100 USD or best offer.
B: 175 yards/160 meters. 2 oz/ 57 grams. 2 ply, light fingering weight to sport weight. Luxury blend of alpaca, cormo, debouillet, silk, silk noil, angora, and cashmere. Very textured due to how I plied it and some noils, but also extremely soft and with lovely drape. Next to skin soft. $60 USD or best offer. SOLD
C: 176 yards/160 meters. 2.25 oz/64 grams. 2 ply, light worsted. Merino, silk, silk noil, angora, and mystery wool blend. Next to skin soft, lots of different colors, and good drape. $50 USD or best offer. SOLD
D: 152 yards/130 meters. 2 oz/57 grams. 3 ply, light worsted. Cormo, alpaca, and merino blend. This yarn was arranged into a stripey gradient--white stripes separating a light purple to dark purple gradient. 3 ply. Incredibly soft--would be perfect for a hat or cowl. $55 USD or best offer.
E: 100 yards/91 meters. 2.5 oz/71 grams. Traditional 3 ply, aran/bulky weight. Romney 3 ply. Durable, squishy, and warm, but not particularly soft. Would make a great hat or gloves. $35 USD or best offer SOLD
F: 140 yards/128 meters. 1.75 oz/50 grams. Traditional 3 ply, fingering weight. Beautiful BFL yarn in autumn colors. Due to the traditional 3 ply the colors constantly shift and change. Very soft and with good drape. $45 USD or best offer. SOLD
G: 325 yards/300 meters. 4 oz/115 grams. 2 ply, fingering weight. Wool, silk, silk noil, alpaca, and Angelina blend. Very textured but soft and drapey. $80 USD or best offer.
H: 166 yards/145 meters. 2 oz/57 grams. 2 ply worsted weight. Targhee, BFL, Angelina blend. Incredibly soft and drapey. Fuzzy and lightly underplied for maximum softness (so a little delicate). Next to skin quality. $45 USD or best offer.
(I'll accept the highest offer I get in a timely manner, so if you really want something and think other people also want to buy it, you can offer more to potentially guarantee you get it. Or offer less, and get it for cheaper if nobody else wants it. Although I wont accept very low offers, sorry.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BATTS AND ROLAGS. These all contain several large handfuls of milkweed floss, because why not. Very fun and soft to spin.
A. 0.75 oz/21 grams. Romney, BFL, silk, bamboo, Targhee, milkweed floss. Somewhat soft, would be very soft if plied with a fine fiber. Lots of purples and blues, with small amounts of rainbow. Should yield a heathered, smooth yarn except for bumps of milkweed floss. $15 USD or best offer. SOLD
B. 0.75 ounces/21 grams. Naturally dyed Shetland combing waste (yellow), BFL, silk merino, milkweed floss. Many different colors arranged in stripes--yellow and blue primarily. Should yield a textured yarn due to the combing waste, but also lofty and colorful. Fairly soft and very squishy. $15 USD or best offer.
C: 0.5 oz/14 grams. Tussah silk, BFL, merino, merino combing waste, milkweed floss. Very soft. Majority tussah silk which is charcoal black. The other colors are dark purple, a few streaks of red, and the shining white from the milkweed floss. Should spin up to a fine and soft yarn. I am also able to make more of these, which would be the same weight and price and matching the original as closely as possible. Let me know if you want several. $12 USD or best offer. SOLD -- but i can make more, if youre interested !
D: 0.5 oz/14 grams. Merino combing waste, merino, BFL, silk, milkweed floss. Buttery soft. Mostly dark brown with purple, blue, and white streaks. I can make several identical ones if desired, for the same price each. $12 USD or best offer. SOLD -- but i can more, if you're interested !
E: 0.5 oz/14 grams. BFL merino, mystery wool and milkweed floss blend. This has stripes of purple and blue, suspended a squishy mystery combing waste. Should yield a fine but squishy yarn. $10 USD or best offer. SOLD
If I sell all or most of these I will make some more !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FLEECE. I am selling by the ounce (28 grams). I'm also willing to process these into fluffy hand carded rolags or fine hand combed top as desired, which will cost extra depending on how difficult the fiber is to process.
A. Jacob lambswool. Very soft but lots of large vm (so, easy to pick out) and nepps/noils. Those will stay in the fiber unless combed, so this tends to produce a very soft, bumpy yarn. I love this fleece but I just can't seem to use it up. Primarily dark brown, but I also have some white and mixed as well. I have about 8 ounces. Washed but still a tiny bit greasy (just to my preference). $3 an ounce.
B: Rambouillet. I have almost a pound of this stuff. Incredibly buttery soft. Like touching seafoam. But it has a ton of fine VM, so it can only be cleaned either lock by lock on hand cards or combed. I am willing to clean it for you. Takes a long time to get into a spinnable state but it is SO worth it. $2 an ounce. SOLD
C: Breed unknown. Some sections are salmon pink, others closer to hot pink. Not much vm, can be combed open lock by lock on hand cards or combed into top. Yields a silky, strong, hairy yarn. Willing to process for you (this would be one of the cheaper ones to do, it's very easy). I have 5 ounces. $2 an ounce. SOLD
D & E: These are both rya lambswool, naturally dyed with yellow onion skin (the bright yellow one with alum, the copper one with copper). Very soft and silky, spins up to a surprisingly robust yarn. Absolute treat to work with. Some vm but the nature of this fleece causes the vm to fall out pretty easily. I have about a pound total. Will process for you. Washed and dyed by myself. $5 an ounce. D IS SOLD, E IS STILL AVAILABLE
F: Sunshine Shetland. Very soft and fine. Naturally dyed, again with onion skins. The tips are somewhat felted and need to be pulled off, which is quick and easy. If combed lock by lock and then spun that way you can get a subtle gradient of orange to yellow with each lock... absolutely gorgeous. Will process for you. I have about 10 ounces. Washed and dyed by myself. $5 per ounce. SOLD
G: Red Hampshire. Not neon red like in the picture, more of a brick red. Very soft and foamy. Some vm. Easy to process on hand cards by combing lock by lock or turning into a rolag. Washed and dyed (using food coloring) by myself. I only have an ounce and a quarter--which is $6 for all of it. SOLD
Tumblr media
COMBING WASTE GRAB BAGS
These are 1 ounce bags of primarily combing waste (so, short fibers and likely some vm) along with other interesting scrap such as mohair locks, colorful merino, and sometimes the occasional single rolag. Lots of the colors are naturally dyed by myself. Great for turning into rolags or using for batt fodder. These are $5 USD if you're buying more than one item (that could be yarn, another grab bag, some fleece, etc) or $10 USD each if you are only buying a single grab bag.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SPINDLES
Lastly, I'm also selling some spindles. A-C are whittled and decorated by myself. D is a beautiful Dealgan which I never could figure out how to use.
A. Supported spindle carved from a fruit tree. I gave it a steeple shape, which does make it slow to spin with. Really enjoyable for special spins that you want to do slowly and thoughtfully. Small spindle, about the length of my hand. $55 USD or best offer.
B. Onion dome supported spindle. Very light for its size, so it can hold a decent cop on it. Small spindle--about the length of my hand. $50 USD or best offer. SOLD ! thank you 🩵🩵🩵
C: Larch spindle. This one has lots of beautiful spalting, as well as being woodburned. Also the length of my hand. Has a very distinct feel to it, sort of in an alive way. $90 USD or best offer.
D: Lightning Dealgan. I got it for $50 and it's basically unused, so reselling for $50 USD. Very heavy and smooth.
And thats it ! If you don't want to buy anything but still wish to help me make rent, you can also donate to my kofi, which would mean the world to me <3

Big Fibre arts update
It's been a while since I updated anything. The darkness gets to me and every day adulting is sth I'll never get used to. But here we are.
Caution: fluffiness ahead!
First of all I prettied up my small niddy noddy and my nostepinne with a little gold colour
Tumblr media
Nalbinding: My socks take shape
Tumblr media
I'm currently washing/staming last month's yarns:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Red/black: 89% supersoft merino/10% silk/10% cashmere. Will probably become a needle lace round shawl.
Small turquoise: merino/viscose spun out of my first carded batt
Orange/blue: 90% really soft merino/10% mulberry silk, took it as a colour management practise and now I know i have much to learn about that.
Thin green: alpaca mix for my dear friend.
Violet: can't find the label but I think it's 70% merino, 20% alpaca and 10% linen. It's so soft and squishy, this will become nalbound fingerless gloves and other wintery stuff
And last but not least: all my stash finally fits inside my jars. And i'm on a good way to decimate it enough that i can buy new stuff in early April!

It's a Wednesday WIP round up day. Not 100% of my works in process but all the ones I've actively been working on recently.
Tumblr media
Shawl 16 (Pattern | Yarn) bind off is going slowly, just hit the half way point. It's been really hot here plus the bind off is really boring so I've just been chipping away at it bit by bit.
Tumblr media
Blanket 11 (Yarn 1 | Yarn 2 | Pattern) is also being chipped away bit by bit. This is a present for my mother and she's been making noises about how sad she'll be if she can't use it this winter, but it's just a Little Too Warm to really hit it hard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shawl 17 (unknown 100% cashmere yarn, used part of this pattern) been doing the strategy of one repeat per day and it's going well so far. The repeat is only 20 rows so it's pretty easy to pick a youtube video and go to work. I think my math was wrong for how many repeats I'll get out this yarn (in that I'll get more than I thought) but I'll wait until I'm at what feels like a good halfway point before reevaluating. Extra photos to show just how small this project is. Itty bitty baby (1.5 US needles!!).
Tumblr media
Shawl 15.5 (i accidentally named two shawls 15)(Yarn 1 | Yarn 2 | Pattern) needs the needles from s16 so it's put on pause. This has been my "knit while reading" project but it's just too scrunched on the needles rn, so instead I started a new reading project.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sweater 9 (Pattern) is my answer to all the acrylic yarns I bought for the great swatchening. I'm not going to relist all the yarns for it but they're in this post, plus a few and minus a bunch. I'm not 100% on this project but I got a wild hair to knit a cardigan and I couldn't justify buying a bunch of yarn for it when I had all these bits. Hoping the different gauges work out and I don't run out of yarn! (I am NOT buying more yarn for this, if I run out of a colour I'll just suffer)

I have a dilemma that is kind of pissing me off. Early last month, since I was no longer employed, I went to visit my mother and participate in the annual "wool walk" where you basically drive all over the state, hitting different yarn stores and (hopefully) buy shit. I refuse to buy without having a project for it, so mostly I was just driving mom around and getting my passport stamped. I did get a couple of things though, one of which was a shawl kit that I thought I could make for someone's Christmas present.
Last week, now a month later, I opened it to take a look at the instructions and figure out if I could actually do it without help, and I realized it was missing one of the mini-skeins. The kit was on sale, which is another reason I bought it, and I have no clue which store I bought it in, so I contacted the company, explained what happened and asked if I could buy the missing skein.
They were like, nope, too bad, we don't sell them separate. (Thanks ArtYarns for the outstanding customer service.🙄) Of course I figured this out after the local fiber festival, so now I'm hunting through every freaking indie yarn store trying to find 100% cashmere lace-weight yarn in some kind of dark blue that isn't stupid expensive because I only need 135 yards.
It is not going well.

A (hopefully) comprehensive list of everything I've acquired on this trip so far.
I'm 2.5 weeks into my 6 week trip and here's anything I have gotten so far:
Indian thread necklace from Abhi (my tour guide) on the first day
Elephant print I made in Jaipur for free and is going in my curio cabinet for India
A green scarf I got for free from the same textile place for winning trivia (unsure what I'll do with it because I don't really wear green and have a lot of scarves. I thought of giving it to my mom because green's her favorite color but I think she has too many scarves too so I don't know)
Taj Mahal magnet from Abhi
Henna from two sisters in Orchha (it is worn off now but I'm still counting it because it was beautiful and I loved it)
Recipes from Rajni's Cooking School in Orchha (to be copied and passed on to Adam)
Om bracelet from Varanasi tour guide (I don't wear bracelets and this one is brown too; I may just put it in the cabinet)
Earrings I bought at the homestay (definitely overpriced but I didn't care because the community needs it)
Mini prayer flags I bought for my curio cabinet in Pokhara
A book on Hindu and Buddhist symbols I bought in Pokhara
A new umbrella bought in Pokhara (my old one was already crappy, like I think evil ex gave it to me after he found it in his classroom, and it completely fell apart)
A cotton sleeping bag liner bought in Pokhara (per suggestion of Imogen after I mentioned I was going to have three more overnight train rides before my trip was over)
A charcoal grey cashmere sweater (I was on a shopping spree with Imo and couldn't resist because it was $22. I kind of wonder if I should have gotten more. The shopkeeper told us we were cute and we were like, dude, don't worry. We are absolutely buying your shit.)
A very heavy metal Shiva statue (This was a need, not a want)
A certificate for seeing Everest
A red thread bracelet from Abhi on the last day (I'll try to wear this one)
A red and gold shawl from Abhi on the last day (he was literally too good to us; I will miss him a lot, and I wonder if he would genuinely be cool with me one day staying at his empty house in Jodpur because I really want to see more Rajastan)
A Japanese cat pen that looks like Lucifer from a Thai 7-11 (impulse purchase with no regrets)
A little gold Buddha for my cabinet at the railway market (I was definitely overcharged but I wasn't going to argue about $2.50)
A limited edition Lip Monster Kate Lipstick from Eve & Boy (basically Thai Sephora as far as I could tell; Kate is a Japanese brand and the package was cute so that's my justification)
Dry shampoo from Eve & Boy (necessary; my hair is nasty)
At this point I will be leaving Thailand in two days. I will be getting curio items from Cambodia and Vietnam (and maybe Hawaii) but I hopefully won't acquire too much more. At least most of what I got I will definitely use.

Just finished this project. Well, I have to weave the ends in still, but close enough. It's been a while since I've posted a photo, but I swear I'm still knitting 😅
This one was a fun garter stitch shawl. The pattern is Versus by Hillary Smith Callis. It's a very regular pattern, very easy to memorize and knit almost without thought. I normally wouldn't go for such a vibrant green but I really like how it plays with the blue! The pairing reminds me of some camping gear I used as a scout. Can't remember exactly what it was that I had, just that these colors kind of match it... maybe it was a lantern? Oh well.
The yarn is Primo Fingering from the Plucky Knitter store. 75% Merino, 20% Cashmere, and 5% Nylon. It's expensive, so I don't buy their stuff often. But I'll admit I haven't been disappointed by them. Plus with only 1 skein of each color needed for this shawl I figured it'd be worth the splurge.
Oh, and I finally got to use my lace blocking wires!

First Of Many I
✧༺ ⋆❄⋆ ༻✧
Inside the bookshop, away from the bustle of overexcited people and cars mincing fresh coatings of snow, Aziraphale tried to concentrate on the book he was reading.
Over and over his focus wandered either to the window where in a glow of ample Christmas lights he could discern that the snowfall showed no signs of dwindling or to Crowley who was giving the side of his head a stare from the armchair Aziraphale started to mentally refer to as his .
Every so often the demon would let out a groan and writhe in his seat, the antique framework underneath him plaintively crying in tune with the winds outside. Yet Aziraphale refused to give either of these distractions his attention, hoping that the first one wouldn’t result in a blizzard, and that the second one would end up devoting his excessive energy to some other pastime.
The latter appeared unlikely.
Adjusting his reading glasses, Aziraphale heaved a sigh and turned a page. The letters dragged before his eyes as he struggled through another paragraph only to realise he’d once again spaced out. He was obliged to start from the top of the page.
The cardinal issue, he had to admit to himself as this time his gaze strayed to his mug on the coffee table, wondering whether he should get up and refill it, wasn’t the inclement weather or the restless company that without any demonic duties to perform couldn’t find any peace of mind.
The issue was that it was their first Christmas together. Which surely wasn’t of great value to two immortal beings who’d known each other for over six thousand years.
Beside him, Crowley expelled yet another wordless complaint.
As Aziraphale drew a breath he didn’t need, he casually re-arranged the cashmere shawl around his neck before once more attempting to engage with the book. He might’ve grown too fond of his human side, finding earthly traditions rather charming… But wanting to celebrate was altogether a preposterous thought.
As luck would have it, jubilant voices drifted from outside, bursting out in Christmas carolling. Aziraphale’s gaze snapped back to the street where the heavy snowfall appeared to not have derailed the festivities.
“We can go out if you want to, you know?” He heard all of a sudden. Upon looking over, he found Crowley watching him with full-blown snake eyes as he gnawed on the earpiece of his sunglasses. “I’ll buy you hot cocoa with an obscene amount of marshmallows. The way you like it.”
The fire in the hearth crackled softly, and the room felt warmer somehow despite none of them using their powers.
“We don’t have to, my dear ,” Aziraphale told him, albeit every atom of his ephemeral essence pleaded otherwise. “I know how you hate the cold.”
Popping the earpiece out of his mouth, Crowley slithered down from the armchair. “But it’s our first Christmas together,” he said like it was the most obvious thing in the world before extending his hand toward the angel.
