Okay so.
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice is worth the watching if only to see the extended sequence in which they detail the completely ridiculous and over the top death of Delia's dad, whose actor was caught with CSEM multiple times and worse.
And which they claymation animate.

Evidence We Didn’t Take
🗝️🏷️ stalking, SA, CSEM, mention of sex toys in orange (start and end: The one pice of evidence…show we had.)
This is maybe a therapy thought, but therapy is gonna be busy✨this week.
We have a problem with not documenting evidence of our abuse because we assume we won’t be believed.
An example that comes to mind is stalking. We’ve been through that more than once, but one time we were regularly in therapy and most frequent fronters knew about our abuse history. Two or three men were showing up in places we needed to be exactly when we needed to be there.
We are medium trusting in two extremes, either I would die for you or I will put in effort to avoid you. These guys wore garments we were conditioned to respond to, so we initially avoided them to not creep them out. When they became more of a fixture, we were more inclined to dodge.
And that’s why we think it was stalking, because they went out of their way. Sometimes they walked behind us for like ten minutes, following while we took weird turns and crossed streets. If they were going the same place, they inconvenienced themselves doing it our way. Standing in doorframes for an hour, looking out. Always where we were going. Taking pictures with us in frame where there was nothing of interest to photograph. Once they were all together, and they passed a nearly empty elevator to try to get on with us. We went without our notebook that day. So many mildly weird things, not really anything huge.
I could’ve taken a picture. That was a safety idea we had. See the guys, take a picture. Kinda invasive, but they seemed to be doing it to us. It would’ve illustrated how often they were there, that they were behaving oddly, that situationally we were right to be distressed. But I never did. I told my therapist: “Even if I do have proof, proof of what? That bald white guys exist?”
I wasn’t sure then that it was stalking, and I’m still not now. It was very mild for our experience, no break-ins or getting snatched. That was also why I was so careful, because those were scary and I didn’t want a repeat. But when I tell people, they don’t believe me. One asked “are you sure that wasn’t a dream?” Pictures would’ve been something, some proof. At least that I didn’t make the guys up.
Our family has occult paraphernalia in the home, or did for years. The one time I thought I should document that and was there to do it, everyone was in the room with the storage boxes and I didn’t try to get past them.
We don’t have any of the clothing we were abused in. I’ve never found any CSEM with us in it (or any at all), but I know some of the things we were wearing to the venue. We don’t have any photos of us before we got a cell phone and have never seen the photo albums that supposedly existed.
The one piece of evidence that we do have is a sex toy we were abused with. It wasn’t one of the… communal(?) ones. I’ve never tried to explain that before. It wasn’t a gift. We got it during puberty with a secret gift card, and they found it. It was one of two that came with us when we left. It’s glass, and someone dropped it at exactly the right angle to crack a chunk off. It’s oddly sentimental, so I don’t want to throw it away, but it’s dubious on body safety now. One more thing I won’t even be able to show we had.
It feels like the only evidence I have now is this body I carry around everywhere I go. Just me, the others, and the vessel we’re stuck in.
It stings. But most people don’t believe us anyway, and what we could’ve shown wasn’t enough for court. It’s just us now. No one will ever know like we do.

I can't stop blaming myself for getting groomed as a kid. I was so young but I still should have known better. I remember his words every time I have a fawn response, knowing that's what he liked most about me. I feel sick and can't make it go away.

"illustrated CSEM" is not a thing. the reason it's called CSEM is because a real child has to be sexually exploited to create that. you can be against fictional underage nsfw if you feel it's morally wrong but it is not the same as CSEM and I'm tired of people treating life destroying child abuse as equivalent to some guy jorking it to video game porn they drew.

Hate the thought that some asshole has pictures of me and could have leaked them and I wouldn't know. I wonder if he's kept them, or if he could threaten me with them if I decided to speak up. Just frustrating that there IS csem of me out there -_-

Could you help me find articles on CSEM production rings from North Carolina? I’m a victim, and I’ve always wanted to know if my abusers were ever caught.
This question doesn’t provide me with enough information to assist you.
Here are a couple of  suggestions you could do that may provide you with information you are looking for:
Search the names of the people involved if you recall them.
Search articles in the county, town, city, where the abuse occurred.
Take care,
Oz

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TO HOT TAKE ON AUGUST ANON. I really appreciated that confession! As someone who works with teenagers and is a mandated reporter, the nuances about the video matter because the nuances in question impact how youth support professionals (like counselors and social workers) respond to the situation. It can make some of the fandom discussions harder to engage with and respond to when people are throwing around the CP accusation like that’s what August intended in the first place.

As a CSAM survivor myself (and potential child HT/OEA) it honestly makes me upset that people are much more concerned with fictional content than the safety of real children.
Kinda trigger warning but I need this rant.
From a systemic perspective the majority of children are not abused because of fictional content regarding minors or even by people who could be clinically considered p-dophiles (the downplaying of that word in the modern day is a genuine deficit to our language surrounding these issues). In my opinion this directs focus away from the actual issue, child abuse is the result of a culture that makes underage individuals extremely vulnerable and certain other people very powerful. Most child abuse is committed by someone who isn't even attracted to children. It is by people who are attracted to power and complete domination over their victims. Fictional content created by people with an attraction to real children who are emboldened by those works and hurt children are a RESULT of that system, not the cause. Attacking a symptom will never ever do anything about the real issue.
You wanna figure out how to actually protect children? First, read about how the family structure is oppressive. Then read some goddamn feminist literature on the patriarchy because I'm sorry feminism isn't over. The patriarchy is still a main threat and no amount of reporting fictional content or harassing people online for what they like will fix it. No matter your stance, if your goal is child safety look at the bigger picture.
If you are in any online spaces that discuss the morality of fiction or its censorship, please keep the following in mind:
CSAM refers to Child Sexual Abuse Material. This is a term that was created for use by US federal law enforcement. As such, it is important to remember that this is a term used specifically to describe illegal sexual content that is produced involving real children. the term CSAM was specifically constructed to highlight the trauma these victims experience because of this abuse, and therefore their humanity.
if you come across CSAM online, you should immediately report it to a tip line. Some websites that host their servers in the US are subject to US federal law even if the person who posted it does not currently reside in the US, so keep that in mind when reporting. again, this is involving CSAM - it is illegal sexual content involving real children.
CSEM refers to Child Sexual Exploitation Material. This is material that involves a real child in a sexualized situation, but either 1- the material itself is not illegal to possess, or 2- the material is not sexualized, but is included in a series or other content that does contain CSAM. Think along the lines or a parent with a few too many photos of their child in the bath. These images are not explicitly sexual, and are not illegal in and of themselves, but they can be used exploitatively.
If you come across CSEM online, it's still a good idea to send in a tip as well as alerting the website it was posted on. Even if the content itself isn't technically illegal, some websites do have strict rules regarding nudity and the sexualization of minors, which can help stop the spread of such materials and reduce the impact on the affected child.
CSAM and CSEM are words used to describe the assault, abuse, sexualization, and exploitation of real children. CSAM, specifically, is used as a way to identify and remove these materials.
CSAM and CSEM do not apply to fiction. They don't apply to any fictionalized or simulated child abuse or sexualized children. They only refer to real children.
Do not send in tips about fictionalized child abuse or sexualized children to tip lines meant to be used for CSAM.
Do not use the words CSAM and CSEM when discussing fictionalized child abuse or sexualized children. In a worst case scenario, it leads to people misusing tip lines due to a conflation of CSAM with fictionalized depictions.
In a more likely scenario, using CSAM to refer to fiction minimizes what CSAM was created to do - which was highlight the trauma experienced by survivors, and therefore draw attention to their humanity. By continuing to use these terms in situations that do not involve real people, it reduces that impact.
