Edgy asks #23 for Helen
Ooh thanks for the ask! Oh god, I had not tought about CAA for a while. I kinda missed Helen ngl
So #23. What emotion is the hardest for your OC to process? How about express?
So Helen has a lot of difficulties in managing her emotions. She is the eldest daughter™, and basically she has gotten used at pushing stuff down and bottling up. So what emotion is gard to process? All of them. Especially grief. When her little brother is taken away from her she pushes everything down for half the book, until she explodes.
And what is difficult to express for her is love. She struggles some with showing her affection for her team, and especially when she will try to flirt with Liam

Anon, Liam hasn't got a new pr team unfortunately. He's recently been signed to a talent agency called CAA that also represents Harry and Niall, but they just act as intermediaries between Liam and any film, TV or theatre project that might be interested in him. They're not responsible for recrafting his image. He's been on vacation in the US since May which isn't a great look. Just non stop partying on Kate's instagram.
Hi, anon!
Yep, CAA isn't PR (you explained it way better than i did). Signing with CAA is Liam trying to branch out and focus on other things than making music. Like H trying out acting and Niall being a judge on the Voice.
I wished they had a real plan to clean up his image before he tried a new venture. I don't want him to fail before he even starts, because of people's bad perception of him. That's just setting himself up for failure. Make a plan *cough* coming out as gay/queer would fix 99% of his problems *cough* (but i don't know if that's an ace he's even got up his sleeve, and is able to use). Partying is never the solution though. Not when you're an addict. Rehab won't help if you just go right back to the toxic environment that made you an addict in the first place.
#anons; when i say this topic is closed it's closed#is just answered this to explain caa a bit better#liam#caa

Hi ! I would like to have your interpretation on the scene where Killua gives advice to Gon for Palm. It surprised me because Killua wants Gon only for himself. I think that either he hasn’t discovered yet that he is in love with Gon, or he was trying to convince himself once again that Gon is just his friend or he just wanted to answer lucidly to what Gon was telling him (stupid question but it intrigues me ><)
Hi! Good question!

Here's the scene from the manga. We're not given any more context to the conversation than this. Based on the little we do see, it's likely more of a conversation on "rehashing events of the date" and/or "how to get Palm off Gon's back" more than "dating advice from Killua." Based off Gon's posture and what he's saying, he seems maybe a little troubled and defeated, while Killua looks surprised (presumably at what Gon's telling him), so I think that supports this conclusion more than Killua giving Gon dating advice more generally.
Killua is suggesting that Gon tell Palm to wait until later, so it's not like he's telling Gon to "Go for it!!!" wholeheartedly either, haha.
Of course, Killua is concerned about their mission and Gon's safety, so getting Palm out of the picture (even just temporarily) is important, and he may hope Palm will lose interest or things otherwise won't work out between them if the whole Palm situation gets postponed until later.
I do also think Killua has a misguided belief that Gon is more interested in and invested in the relationship with Palm than he actually is, which is supported by Killua's annoyance at Gon being worried about Palm during the palace invasion, and Killua's breakdown later in CAA over the thought that Palm might be able to reach Gon while he can't.
Killua, in his panic, seems to believe that Gon's relationship with Palm is more mutual and serious/romantic in nature than it actually is, and so it makes sense to me that he might give Gon at least a little earnest advice under the misguided assumption that, even after that disaster date, Gon wants to be in a relationship with Palm. There's also the question of how aware Killua is of his own feelings. He very well may be in denial or still grappling with what his feelings mean at this point, and regardless I don't think he has much hope of Gon reciprocating. So, he's trying to be a good friend and tell Gon what he thinks is the best course of action.
Also, like I've said about this scene before, it's pretty ironic that how the Palm date incident comes to a close is with these two on...what looks like a date.
You can read more of my takes on the Palm subplot here, I've written a lot about it previously!

Okay on a lighter note I am now thinking about Soap trying to teach Nikolai Scots and giggling to myself about it
note: I have yet to find a canon source that gives a location for Soap's hometown, so I'm going with what's most fun for me
"So you call it a 'scurry'?" Nik asked, eyeing the bird dubiously as it inched its way closer to them. "But it does not scurry like a mouse does. It is fearless."
"Aye, but have ye seen 'em walkin'? They scurry a little bit," Soap replied. "Oi! Feck off, ye wee shite!" he barked at the bird that had leapt to try to steal his chips.
It earned them both some strange looks and baffled laughter from the tourists around them.
"I still do not understand," Nik confessed.
Soap shrugged. "Eh, that's jist the Doric for ye. An' it's only up by my way they say it; most places they're jist seagulls."
"And this is a dialect of Scottish," Nik clarified, turning it over in his mind. "I think I understand this. Tell me more?"
Soap grinned through a mouthful of chips, looking like a child in his eagerness to share what he knew.
"Right, so if my mum phoned me the now, I'd say I canna spik lang, I'm oot wi' the loons frae work. We jist went for a chippy, an' noo we're hivvin' a gander aboot the toon."
Nik hummed thoughtfully, nodding as he tried to parse the words. Most of it had been reasonably easy to follow, but one word in particular had caught his attention.
"You said the 'loons'. Like the bird? What does it mean?"
Soap snickered, shaking his head. "I'm definitely nae oot wi' the birds frae work," he said, grinning again. "Naw, 'loons' is fit we caa boys. An' 'quines' are lassies. Girls, I mean."
Nik supposed that made as much sense as any other foreign language did.
"Well then, let us go find the other 'loons', and we can continue our day, aye?"
Soap laughed at his stilted pronunciation, throwing the styrofoam container from his chips into the bin beside him.
"Da," he answered, his own pronunciation atrocious.

hi!! I just found out about tumblr having an anti-hindutva tag and I shall be making myself comfortable here! just found your account like a few mins ago and if it’s ok, i wanted to ask some questions (you absolutely don't have to answer if you don't like any of them or even if you don't feel like answering :) ) (edit added, this ask got way too long lol. feel free to skip it! also, you're kinda super cool lol)
I'm Indian, currently outside India, and I've only started learning about the shitshow going on in my 'mahaan bharat' since November (specifically since finding out that we are Irahell's biggest weapons buyer). and the more I find out the more shocked and heartbroken I feel...
like this week i learnt about the immigration ban in US against Chinese women that existed a few decades ago, and the ongoing discrimination against Palestinians in Canadian immigration services... and both the times I was so disgusted and there was this subconscious feeling that India should never be like that. but then an hour ago I learnt about the 2019 CAA and wtf!?
another example being that currently we're seeing israhell's continuous bombing of heritage sites of great cultural and religious significance, that also held so many centuries old records and histories... and learning about how they are bulldozing over graveyards and exhuming them...
and then today I learnt about Akhonji Masjid and Gyanvapi Masjid and of course have known about Babri Masjid for a few weeks now...
and only learnt about Kashmir in november...
and I feel like my whole worldview has shifted from a previous foundation, except it's so drastic and I still don't have a new foundation...
I try to talk to members of my family about this but they're the Indian equivalent of the U.S. liberals, and every single time they'll tell me "whatever news you're hearing is propaganda written by Pakistan/China/U.S./Russia. trust me I have Muslim friends and they're very happy. you just don't know the situation cause you're not in India" and like it sometimes make me think maybe I'm the one losing my mind...
I even read some places about free Punjab and that confused the fuck out of me cause I'm Punjabi (who does not live in Punjab) and I don't have any clue what it's about... I asked my fam, but they just gave me a weird look and told me to stay away from anyone that mentions Khalistan😭💀
(this got way longer than I expected, so sorry) but would you have any recommendations for any blogs/articles/books/podcast resources or any personal recommendations for news publications that are reliable (finding God would probably be easier than finding such publications lmao) like I thought Al-Jazeera is super credible, but then read that they're super credible when it comes to Palestine, not when it's global...
like where tf do I go from here lol
hello nonnie! some news sites I'd recommend are newslaundry (they have a youtube channel too), the wire, scroll.in and newsclick. maktoob media is mostly focused on minority rights in india. hindutvawatch.org is about hindu fascist violence committed against minorities. I still think you should stick to al-jazeera at least when it comes to palestine (they have journalists on the ground there, shireen abu akleh was one of them)
this is a good introduction to anyone wanting to learn about hindutva, this and this are about how india is becoming increasingly unsafe for minorites and is undergoing a democratic backsliding. this and this are about the rss link to nazism
hostile homelands by azad essa is about india's historical relationship with israel and the parallels between hindutva and zionism. the brown history podcast has an episode about how india went from the first non-arab state to recognise palestine to its largest buyer of weapons, featuring azad essa (x). you can also read colonising kashmir by hafsa kanjwal about how india came to militarily occupy kashmir. if you want to learn more about kashmir there are the blogs kashmiraction.org and standwithkashmir (which is um. blocked in india. i wonder why)
i have not read khaki shorts and saffron flags yet but this one is about the history of the rss. i also suggest watching the documentaries ram ke naam and jai bhim, comrade which are about the hindutva mobilisation in the 1980s
for me free punjab is very ?? the indian government is beyond evil as they continue to spy on sikhs abroad (and ofc, the 1984 sikh genocide) but i don't think liberation will be achieved through a religious ethnostate. any state formed on the basis of religion will inevitably turn out to be a disaster. i do encourage you to read lost in history: 1984 reconstructed by gunisha kaur, which is about the human rights violations committed against sikhs during this time and why operation bluestar was in fact not about freeing sri harmandir sahib from "terrorists." all i can say is to stand with sikhs unapologetically as our shitass government continues to commit more and more human rights violations against them
in general, i'd tell you to observe the language used by different news outlets and question it (eg. american news referring to israelis below the age of 18 as children but the same courtesy is not extended to palestinians) and check their sources. if it's from whatsapp university don't even bother
#i really really hoped this poorly drafted response helps#feel free to ask more qs if you have any!#also omg fellow punjabi HIIIII I'M PUNJABI FROM MY MOM'S SIDE#asks#anon#hindutva

Do you think there’s any chance that Pitou could be revived later in the story?
Does the character even have any more potential writing wise?
Hi!
Nope, I don't think so, mainly because the Chimera Ant Arc is over.
HXH has a unique structure in how each arc can basically be its own story with its unique setting and its unique characters. At the same time, there are recurring characters that keep coming back and develop.
They are:
Gon, Killua, Kurapika (and Leorio) aka the protagonists
Hisoka, the Spiders and the Zoldycks aka the personal antagonists of the protagonists
Maybe Ging and Pariston, but it is too soon to say
These characters are all introduced in a series of arcs that go from the Hunter Exam Arc to Greed Island. In particular:
The Hunter Exams introduces us to the world, the 4 protagonists + Hisoka who can be seen as a 5th protagonist really
The Zoldyck Arc introduces the Killua's family as recurring antagonists/characters
The Celestial Tower Arc introduces us to the idea of Nen
The York Shin City Arc introduces us to the Spiders as recurring antagonists/characters
Greed Islan works as an introduction to Ging's character
After all these "introductory arcs" we arrive to the CAA aka the first real arc :P which is really its own story and where the true protagonist is Meruem rather than Gon and/or Killua. The result is really an arc which could have been its own thing and that gets a wonderful conclusion. So, I don't really think bringing Pitou back would work... especially because his arc was tied to Meruem. That said... never say never... maybe it will happen. All in all, trying to foresee HXH plot is quite difficult because again... every arc is its own story.
As for your second ask:
Are there any significant parallels between Gon and Pitou?
I would say both have a childish blue and orange sense of morality and both are forced to face their shortcomings during the CAA. Now, I should probably reread the arc to give a better answer, but here is what comes to mind.
Both Pitou and Gon have a blue and orange sense of morality in how they will be highly protective of the people they care about. Pitou will protect the King no matter what and Gon will protect his friends against the world. They are also childish and initially have a simplistic vision of the world.
Throughout the arc they are both confronted with a reality far more complex. Pitou starts understanding humanity by seeing its impact on the King. He understands it makes the King better rather than worse. So, he acts to protect it and by doing so they themselves grows more human.
Gon is instead confronted with an enemy he sees as monstrous and is forced to reckon he isn't. Not only that, but so far he has always been able to empathize with the cruelest of people, but this time he can't because he himself was hurt. Basically, the meeting with Pitou points out Gon's own hypocrisy. He called out the Spiders because they would cry for their friends, but not for the people they killed... Well, he is the same and Pitou forces him to see that.
Maybe that's why I honestly think Pitou is far more similar to Killua than Gon tbh. Both are murderers and in a sense they are born to kill:
Killua is born in a family of assassins who expect him to grow into an assassin and even calls him after the verb "to kill"
Pitou is born as a Royal Guard and is expected to kill whoever threatens the King
Both change because of their loyalty towards one person. Killua grows thanks to his friendship with Gon. Pitou matures thanks to his loyalty to the King. As a result, they both try to change who they are. Killua tries not to kill and to grow into a good friend for Gon. Pitou starts appreciating humanity more and is ready to do anything to protect Komugi. Also, both have a cat motif really...
Basically, Gon faces an alter-ego of his best-friend and is unable to recognize him for who he is because of his feelings of grief and pain... Symbolically, this happens as his relationship with Killua is similarly deconstructed and their codependency is explored.
Thank you for the ask!

sorry if I asked this question and it’s been answered already but i can’t seem to find it. Does anyone know what sebastian did to get canceled many times? I wasn’t active during that era and I cant seem to find anything. // I am probably missing some stuff, but here is some stuff I know about:
- 2017 and I, Tonya promo. He asked fans to make memes about his look in the movie and only liked and gave attention to those that were pretty pedophilic. He made a very insensitive post to promote the movie, also, but took the post down since.
- Around 2017, too, he liked a video of a friend of his talking about white people saying the n word and not understanding why he can't say it. Some people say he had apologized, some say he hadn't. I only remember the proof of him liking the post, not any apology so take this with a grain of salt.
- He traveled during the pandemic. Although he was talking about the need to stay home and not travel and even got mad over people partying and travelling, he did the exact same thing. People were mad at him for going out *and* being an hypocrite.
- The whole Ale era. People found pictures of her doing CA on her instagram and called her out, even telling him about it. He blocked them. Later they went together in vacation and posted CA together.
- The whole P&T shitshow. First he agreed to do the show, even though it was known Pamela never agreed to it. Then he worked super closely with Tommy Lee (a known abuser) and he said he sees him as a friend. Said multiple times (quite proudly) he's watched the sextape more than once in order to "prepare" for the show.
He did CA during filming and although we can argue that it was part of the role (Tommy's buddhism), people found one of his posts insensitive and mocking the religion, which wasn't needed for the role.
(Take this with a grain of salt cause no proof as far as I know, but there have been rumors even this awards season of him still shading Pam talking badly about the show.)
It's been less drama since he left social media (it could be his team advising him to do so, considering how much shit he was doing) but there used to also be a very long discourse about him being a Z!onist.
I can't remember if it was any proof (I will search and if I find anything, I will update this ask) but I don't remember him ever positioning himself on the issue. But if we want to be honest, he is also connected to very Z!onist companies (like the CAA).
My mind is a little all over the place and Tumblr deleted my text once, but I think this is what I know so far. As mentioned, I could have missed some stuff but if anyone knows more or better, please correct and/or add.

hi Annie, we haven't talked in a while. But I see things haven't changed. 6 months and we haven't seen them together. But her team has an easy answer to this: their private. There was nothing for the two anniversaries. But her team has an easy explanation for that: it's because of the toxic fandom. It's funny that these people who talk about the toxic fandom are the leader of that toxic fandom. But you're right, sometimes you just have to sit back and watch. Have a nice day, darling.
I love this "private couple" excuse. It's bullshit 😂. You don't run from the UTA party to the CAA party and to the VF party just to be private afterwards. But I guess it's a nicer way of saying: there's no content. The same goes for the two anniversaries. After hundreds of wedding articles, there was only 1 recycled article and this one was posted a day after the anniversary. Even Portugal didn't post any articles and they even talked about her bookshelves and the ugly birthday cake.
However, sit back and watch the show. The narrative changes daily. But don't forget: we are projecting, so stay delusional 😉.

I wonder if he would leave CAA if it was just him and Blake. I don't think he would say anything or compete anymore because Blake is not good at his job. And I don't think he would take Daniels' calls even if the team contacted him. Except for the crappy reporters who wanted answers from Daniels' team, claiming they were from someone close to Daniels. Blake would be better off answering those questions than giving Daniels a job 😔
All I’m saying is that yes, at this point in time, Daniel’s standpoint is very likely that he is completely done with racing and that’s fine. But what happens in 6 months’ time when he’s had the time to sit with it and he decides otherwise? Or even if he just wants to be involved in some other capacity with formula one? Even at this point right now, we can tell he still looks keen to be a somewhat public figure or at least rely on his professional racing career for his future business ventures, so what happens when you let some other entity completely retcon your entire career? What would even be left of your career and legacy when you decide to return to it?
It’s not even on Blake because my understanding is that Blake is likely nothing more than a glorified personal assistant but what about big name american agency CAA?? They’re still working with Daniel and I know at some point, the blame is more on Daniel than CAA because they can’t do anything if Daniel doesn’t want to, but it doesn’t even have to be about a pour-his-heart-out kind of interview. They just need to be placing subtle reminders here and there of all that Daniel’s achieved in his career and that would do the job

First clip from Went Up the Hill
youtube
Vicky Krieps & ‘Stranger Things’ Actor Dacre Montgomery Lead Samuel Van Grinsven’s TIFF Ghost Story ‘Went Up The Hill’ — First Look Clip | Deadline
EXCLUSIVE: Kiwi filmmaker Samuel Van Grinsven heads to TIFF this year with Went Up The Hill, a psychological ghost story starring Vicky Krieps and Stranger Things actor Dacre Montgomery. Check out a first look clip from the flick above.
Directed by Van Grinsven from a screenplay he also penned, the film follows Jack, an orphan, who travels to remote New Zealand to attend the funeral of his estranged mother Elizabeth. There he meets her widow, Jill, who has questions of her own. Over the nights that follow, Elizabeth returns and possesses Jack and Jill, using each of their bodies to speak to the other. Jill faces Elizabeth’s suicide, while Jack confronts his abandonment. As they learn she is trapped in limbo, Jack begins to doubt Elizabeth’s reason for returning. Caught in a life-threatening nocturnal dance, Jack and Jill must find a way to let go of Elizabeth’s hold before she pushes them to the edge.
“Went Up The Hill is a hypnotic ghost story. From the outset, I was drawn to the stasis of grief and the limbo of questions for those left behind,” Van Grinsven says of the pic. “This is embodied by our protagonists Jack and Jill, who despite being strangers to one another, surrender their bodies as vessels to the dead in the pursuit of answers.“
Went Up The Hill is Van Grinsven’s second feature. His first was Sequin in A Blue Room. It world premiered at the Sydney Film Festival in 2019, where it won the Audience Award for Best Feature Film. Van Grinsven is represented by RGM Artists Australia and Grandview in the U.S.
Bankside Films (The Quiet Girl, Talk to Me) is handling worldwide sales at TIFF with North America co-repped with CAA. The film was shot on location in New Zealand and is the latest collaboration between London-based Bankside and Causeway Films following their partnership on Danny & Michael Philippou’s Talk to Me.
Van Grinsven added: “It’s fantastic to be world premiering at TIFF; I’ve been lucky enough to have their support behind both of my first two features now, and it will be a special moment to introduce the film for the first time alongside our Jack and Jill, Vicky and Dacre.”

The BBC has reportedly issued an apology to a Rabbi over the 'grotesquely unfair' line of questioning adopted by anchor Ben Brown during a BBC News interview.
Rabbi Gideon Sylvester, of the British United Synagogue in Jerusalem, appeared on the network on December 23 for a discussion which he claims was pitched to him as focusing on the Jewish holiday of Chanukah.
BBC News had interviewed multiple other faith leaders from Jerusalem and Bethlehem in the lead up to Rabbi Sylvester's segment, including a Christian reverend and a leader of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The network stated when introducing Rabbi Sylvester that they had been interviewing these various religious figures to see how the 'shadow of war' had impacted their local communities.
BBC anchor Ben Brown began the interview by asking Rabbi Sylvester about the prospect of a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine to help put an end to the current war in Gaza and the West Bank.
Speaking to the Jewish Chronicle after-the-fact, Rabbi Sylvester blasted the question as 'outrageous' and accused Brown of implying that Israel had started the war.
In his response on air, Rabbi Sylvester stated that 'most Israeli's are very nervous' about a potential two-state solution and added that the prospect could only be considered if Palestinian's adopted a leadership 'willing to have a liberal democracy'.
In his remarks to the Jewish Chronicle, Rabbi Sylvester also accused the BBC of promoting anti-Jewish attitudes and spreading misinformation about the Middle East.
'Their words carry weight and provoke evermore antisemitism, sometimes leading to physical attacks on the street. So I was happy to talk about the current situation and to correct the misinformation which is spread about Israel,' he said.
Ben Brown went on to quote former Israeli political advisor and Haaretz columnist Gideon Levy who has been outspoken in his criticism of the Israeli military's actions in both Gaza and the West Bank.
Balking at the mention of Levy's name, Rabbi Sylvester accused Levy of being on the extreme left in Israeli politics and said that he didn't speak for the majority of Israelis.
With time running out in the interview, Brown cut Rabbi Sylvester's final answer short.
The Jewish Chronicle also reports to having seen an email from a senior BBC news editor which offered an apology to Rabbi Sylvester for 'focusing a little too much on politics'.
The BBC has since confirmed to the MailOnline that it has been in contact with Rabbi Sylvester in the wake of the interview.
Accusations of anti-Jewish bias were also levelled at the BBC by the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA), who labelled the interview 'absolutely despicable'.
'Not a single question about Chanukah or Jewish suffering in the region right now. Absolutely despicable. The only silver lining is that Rabbi Sylvester acquitted himself very well in the circumstances,' a CAA spokesperson said.

This answer prompted a follow-up question from Brown who interjected that the responsibility over reaching a peace deal must also be borne by the Israeli government, and not solely Palestinian leadership.
A BBC spokesperson, reacting to these allegations, told the MailOnline: 'The BBC News channel interviewed leaders of different faiths seeking to reflect how the ongoing conflict is having an impact on their communities, as well as looking ahead to their hopes for 2025.
'We interviewed the leaders live from the Middle East and challenged their views where necessary.
'While the interviews intended to cover recent news events as well as matters related to faith, we acknowledge that we should have allowed more time to speak with Rabbi Gideon Sylvester about his religion and the impact of the conflict on Hanukkah.
'We deplore antisemitism, and we are committed to reporting the conflict with accuracy, impartiality and transparency'.

pretend you’re daniels manager— top 5 career moves for him /rebrands you would do (ex: projects, specific talk shows, etc)
HAHAHAHAHAAHHA THIS QUESTION WAS MADE FOR ME I GOT ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD FOR THIS ONE
bring back no brakes. ur nothing without a core fandom. small levels of fan service are what keep people entertained in you and supporting you and wanting to keep up with what you're doing. it doesnt have to be race weekend vlogs. but at least a fried chicken video every now and again.
fire whoever is in charge of enchante and put me (and rand) in charge of it. it needs changing from the bottom up. financing, warehousing, marketing, everything. change all of it. bring back real merch. keep your fun flirty fashion pieces as well. but let me see a '3' insignia back on that merch right fucking now.
fire caa. idc how much good they've done for u commercially. they've done a significant amount of wrong moves as well. an agency will always care about money first. abandon the i'm so happy and i'm not an asshole persona they've forced upon u. bring back being a cunt. its what makes u the racer u are.
new pr person. or a pr person full stop. end podcast appearances. get interviewed by a woman for once (and not one who is married to a raging misogynist and hides it behind comedy.) bring back podcasts (the one blake scotty and daniel were meant to do)
jack berg flies everywhere with daniel. takes photos of daniel everywhere. when he's having a poo. photo. when he's working out. photo. when he's jerking off. photo. when he's punching a wall. photo.
EDIT: sorry i just realised this didnt acc answer ur ask at all. u asked me to be specific lol. im so sorry. i saw daniels manager and career moves and said RIGHT
