so apparently the "checks and balances" in government is only for when working class people are getting too many benefits and not for when an entire branch of government is bought and paid for.

Part of the problem is that Americans have focused on the President, because it's easy to focus on one person, but by design, the real power sits with the Congress. If people focused more on congressional races, and choosing Congresspeople more carefully, whoever the President is will be under a strict system of checks and balances. If voting for Biden is a 'lesser of 2 evils (false)' choice for you, then you need to focus on your local House race and get someone in there who is going to hold their fellow Congresspeople and the Executive branch to the account you want them. No one else has the power to do it!

Yeah - and so will Trump. Like, if you don't vote for Biden, Trump will win, and he will continue to send aid to Israel - in fact, he will likely send MORE aid to Israel. That's the reality of the world we live in.

And, to be honest, any US president will support Israel. Because the USA is Israel's ally. That's how foreign policy works.

So who do you prefer?

Biden, who has helped lgbtq rights, reproductive rights, infrastructure, the environment, lowered medication costs, supported unions, and done MANY good, progressive things,

Or Trump, who we already know is awful. Who we already know will destroy any human rights Biden managed to gain. Who will not help the environment. Who will not help trans people, or immigrants, or women.

Because those are your two choices. And if you think they're the same, you are dangerous to all marginalized people.

Babysitting duty calls, Klarion

It another world threatening battle for the justice league, young justice against the league of Villains and chaos children before most of the chaos children froze as if they sense something bad was approaching and immediately dipped out.. except klarion whom was fighting with raven who immediately froze up too late in front of the portal.

Only for a green portal to appear, as a worned out floating glowing green, but blue skinned teenage boy who turn into a man with red eyes, a clock staff in hand and a glowing white hair baby in a baby carrier.

Klarion is literally struggling like a feral cat who got wet in cold water against some invisible force speaking in some odd static like language before giving up after half a minute when the man spoke back with a short word.

The man now just shape-shifting into turn elderly just gave klarion the baby carrier before noticing how the heroes and villains have stop in mid battles looking at both klarion and him.

Spoken the elderly now shape-shifted into a young boy before he turn back to klarion leaving him a note and glowing baby bag before floating back into the swirling green portal.

i know most of us know this and are basically already asking these questions only rhetorically but the reason corporations don't make their TOS clearly worded and Google shows you helpline numbers when you look up "list of eating disorders" and Tumblr just won't let you look up hundreds of words most of which have no clear meaning is because of plausible deniability being the basis of all legal defense. we banned your account but not the other one who was doing the same shit because it was against the rules in your case and not against the rules in the other case. because we said so. you get the suicide helpline when you Google whatever because then it's your fault if you kill yourself with instructions you googled because they did everything they "could" to stop you. twitch banned you for adult content and not the other girl because more people reported you and they didn't want to deal with actually moderating, but the blurry TOS will cover their ass either way. that's it, that's always the reason "why"

actual laws are written the same way, so cops and the government can squint and interpret that whatever you did, including just existing in an area, was actually a crime that justifies your imprisonment, and only the people with enough resources to fight stupid arguments in court for months or years will be able to get out of paying a fine or going to prison

When Deadman panicked and rushed to call him during an important meeting, Constantine thought it was a ghost thing, he doubted it was anything really important so he ignored it for a few minutes.

What he didn't expect was for Deadman to inform him that his boss was coming to visit in a few hours (because apparently ghosts had bosses). The poor guy was in a panic, apparently it was the first King in charge in centuries that cared and he was coming to "make sure everything was in order".

Constantine didn't know what to expect; a King who demanded that humanity bow at his feet and the ghosts rule? One who hated it when Deadman got involved with humans and sent him away? A tyrant? It was clear that no ruler had ever been good, according to his ghost friend, so he had low expectations.

He reported this to the League, who took a high alert posture. An hour later, Wonder Woman was reviewing with everyone how foreign royalty should be treated when they heard Captain Marvel laughing with someone in the break room. Deadman was also mysteriously missing.

Constantine peeked in but all he could see was a teenager conversing with the Captain and strangely, the ghost. He was about to tell the boy that he needed a permit to enter the Watchtower when Deadman spoke up.

"I didn't know you were so interested in games, King Phantom, or that you were so good on them"

Then, John noticed the ice crown on the boy's head and his strangely sharp teeth, along with his toxic green eyes.

"Flattering me won't help you in the review" the teenager quipped "remember we're still waiting for Dan to find out if everything here is...balanced."

Constantine realized: The King was a bloody teenager.

The writers be cooking with Mark and Eve but y'all ain't catching it fr. Because a common complaint I see is that Eve is just a doormat who agrees with everything Mark does, when one of the most important conversations they've had is when Mark comes back from the future after being forced to kill the Immortal and confesses his fears of turning into a tyrant. Of no one stepping up to try to stop him. To which Eve, understanding the gravity of his fears, doesn't offer him lip service comfort but instead promises that should that ever happen, she will fight against him. Knock sense back into him.

Which is EXACTLY the mentality Debbie had with him and Nolan. That "I don't care if you're 100 times stronger than me, you're not going to walk all over me. And if you were to turn into someone I no longer recognize and started doing terrible things, I'm not just going to roll over and let it happen. I will fight back." This is so very important, because it's not necessarily about their physical ability to stop Mark, but that these two women, one superpowered and one human, who mean so much to him and who love him, aren't simply going to fold in the eleventh hour, but will stand against him if they must.
