Le Mans 24h, H16: Toyotas lead, Ferrari vs. Corvette in GTE Pro

The #7 Toyota Gazoo Racing entry had a 68sec lead despite a wayward moment for Lopez at Mulsanne Corner, when Kaz Nakajima pitted the #8 car pitted at the end of the 17th hour. However, when Lopez handed over to Conway, the pitcrew struggled with a sticking wheelnut and gave up 40sec of its advantage to the other Toyota, although the Briton and Nakajima were then matching each other’s laptimes, around 3sec off their fastest laps. This isn’t the closest the pair have been, however, as Kamui Kobayashi dropped the #7 car at Indianapolis in the 13th hour, and emerged only 9sec ahead, after avoiding the barrier. Then in the 15th hour, as Brendon Hartley handed over to Nakajima, the #8 got a new nose. Just as this 16th hour was completed, Nakajima reported a gearchange issue to his team. Third in the top class, four laps behind the leaders, is the #36 Alpine A480-Gibson currently piloted by Nicolas Lapierre, chased by the #708 Glickenhaus 007 of Olivier Pla on the same lap, The second Glickenhaus of Richard Westbrook runs two laps further behind. Premise

According to RAE (Real Academia Española), the word quincho, widely used in Argentina and Uruguay, defines “a shed consisting of a thatched roof supported by wooden columns or other material; It is usually built in the garden of a house or in its back, and is used as a shelter against rain or sun in outdoor meals.” The word derives by “quincha”, an ancient Quechua word that defines a traditional construction system of South America that consists of a threaded cane or bamboo covered with mud.

In Argentina, having asado (cooking meat on embers, similar to barbecue), more then a culinary tradition is an art, or a religion.

Basically it’s a ritual. Argentinians now use the word quincho to define a construction made expressly to prepare and enjoy a good asado. This is generally a family business, since the variety of pieces of meat and their dimensions are big. It’s a shared meal, and the construction can be simply a barbecue, a covered shed, or a proper building.

Brief

When our clients bought the property next door to their ’60 existing house in a small town in the Córdoba countryside, to widen their garden, they decide to commission the construction of a new building in the newly acquired plot: a quincho, specifically for making asado and family gatherings.

Once demolished the dividing wall, it was clear the area of the new building had to be between the existing pool and the dividing wall corner of the new plot, leaning against the last.

The wish was to have a big dining room for family and friends, visually and physically totally open to the garden but with the chance to close it completely. In addition, a double bedroom for guests, with a bathroom, had to be designed.

Formally, this new pavilion had to establish a conversation with the white-painted brick walls forming the existing mid-century house that has a distinct design, being surmounted by a thick, charcoal-colored roof volume that surrounds the villa.

Project

The choice had been to recall the solid brick volumes of the white original building in the new construction this time in natural brickwork, like in the asador itself, a thick but slender chimney-like volume clearly expressed on the side of the building, the taller element of the building.

A pristine white, cantilevered roof contrasts with the walls, wrapping around the bricks block, forming a gallery that blurs the transition between indoors and outdoors space and giving shelter from the copious summer rains. This thin white roof, in relation to the thick, exposed brick walls of the structure below, establishes a relationship somewhat similar to the one of the thick, dark grey roof of the existing building, still without imitating it.

A Cassia Fistula tree happened to be on the corner of the gallery area, so the architects made the decision to punch two round holes, one on the floor slab, another in the roof itself, allowing the tree to remain, grow through the roof and blossom its bright yellow flowers cascade in summer, just above it. The plot had been abandoned for decades, so other grown plants and trees have been carefully kept during the site works and taken in account in order to make the most of them once the project was done and the garden enlarged.

Another architectural element in the gallery is a corner seat, cantilevered in concrete within the nook of the facade brick wall. This cozy corner is thought to contemplate quietly the garden, drinking mate, the national drink.

On the inside, a spacious patio divides the dining area from an en-suite area with a spacious guest bedroom and an intimate bathroom with diagonal views on the patio. Taking advantage of the one story building, the shower has a light well placed right on top of it, bringing extra natural light.

The bedroom volume protrudes towards the garden to add intimacy to this more private part and to have an even closer relation to the luscious green outside.

On the other side, the existing pool had to be divided from the new building for safety reasons, given the family has one kid with special needs. A simple white metal fence was placed for this purpose. One of the project’s key pieces is the asador, the brick oven where the asado is made.

Often these items are placed outdoor, but the family final choice was to have it as part of the dining in order to have the cooking family member enjoying the same space as the rest, rather then work isolated. The cooking space has been divided in two to allow one side for a pizza and bread oven.

The big kitchen has everything for the preparation of the food, wide countertops and plenty of cabinets and storage space. All the kitchen doors are in cedar solid wood, adding its very warm finish to the room.

The same solid timber has been used for all the doors, storage and paneling.

The building has been furnished with pieces from the family, as well as new designs.

Four original Diamond chairs by Harry Bertoia, in the house since the ’60, were restored, provided with new cushions that matched the ones of the corner gallery seat and placed on the poolside. An old, big, solid wooden table is the center of the dining room, surrounded by Windsor chairs also belonging to the family for decades, along with other new chairs. Family heritage are also the Persian rugs used both indoors and outdoors and the thonet-style, hay rocking chair. Abstract art pieces by Rodrigo Schiavoni (one of the architects collaborating in the project) give the finishing touch.

Il pane della condivisione | Claudio Zonta S.I.

Safet Zec, pittore e scultore nato a Rogatica, Bosnia-Erzegovina, principale esponente del cosiddetto «realismo poetico», nella sua arte richiama il senso del quadro di Rembrandt che rappresenta il Cristo che guarisce i malati, opera che, come egli stesso dice, è stata fondamentale per la sua scelta artistica. Imponenti e di forte impatto emotivo sono i suoi cicli pittorici che rappresentano i migranti ammassati sui barconi, così come la presenza del pane ghermito dalle mani.

L’opera Mani per il pane, esposta nel Refettorio Ambrosiano e successivamente a Venezia, nella Chiesa della Pietà, sulla Riva degli Schiavoni rappresenta una tela con delle mani che cercano di afferrare una forma di pane. Una serie di mani anonime, che possono essere di tutti, occupano lo spazio centrale; esse sono tese, spalancate, aperte, nel desiderio di arrivare a brandire il pane. Il colore ocra e marrone conferisce il calore alle mani e allo stesso tempo ricorda che l’essere umano arriva dalla terra, dall’humus, e che necessita di essere alimentato, coltivato e custodito.

Il pane, casereccio, che profuma di forno e di famiglia, è consistente, spruzzato ancora di farina. Non è intero. È spezzato in due parti che sembrano costituire la ferita del mondo: l’ingiustizia, la disuguaglianza, il male perpetrato nella società feriscono il pane stesso, simbolo dell’umanità. Questa ferita è anche evidenziata con una striscia di color rosso, come sangue, che tinge il pane e arriva fino alle mani degli uomini ed è l’unico elemento di contatto con l’alimento. Nessuna delle mani tese riesce infatti a raggiungerlo. Ma dovranno riuscirci, come mostra l’intensa luce che sgorga dall’alto e che illumina il pane e le mani.

Il pane spezzato, inoltre, è l’unico modo per costruire una società civile giusta, equa, che rispetta i diritti umani: è condivisione, è diventare compagni (cum panis). Ma oggi, sembra affermare Safet Zec nella sua opera, il pane non è ancora raggiunto, non appartiene a tutti. È un’opera che non solo rappresenta la realtà, ma auspica un impegno collettivo per creare un mondo sostenibile e responsabile.

El Senado realizó su sesión preparatoria en la que prestaron juramento 23 de los 24 senadores electos el pasado 22 de octubre, quienes asumirán formalmente en sus cargos el próximo 10 de diciembre. La ceremonia, que se inició cinco minutos antes de las 11 de la mañana, se extendió por 52 minutos.

Comenzó con el izamiento de la bandera por parte del senador nacional Carlos Saúl Menem, tras lo cual, como es habitual, se entonó el Himno Nacional Argentino.

Las juras propiamente dichas arrancaron a las 11.15 y el primero en hacerlo fue el senador bonaerense de Cambiemos Esteban Bullrich. Su compañera de lista, Gladys González, no se encontraba presente y se anunció que jurará en una próxima sesión.

A continuación fue el turno de la expresidenta Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, que lo hizo ante Gabriela Michetti con un sencillo “sí juro”. La líder de Unidad Ciudadna fue la única senadora electa que no estuvo acompañada por familiares al momento de la jura, sin embargo fue la dama más ovacionada de la jornada.

Luego lo hicieron la senadora formoseña María Teresa Margarita González, José Mayans y Luis Naidenoff, el flamante jefe del interbloque Cambiemos en la Cámara alta.

A continuación fue el turno de los jujeños. Primero Silvia Giacoppo, que juró en calidad de reelecta, después el también radical Mario Raimundo Fiad y tercero lo hizo el peronista Guillermo Snopek.

Por La Rioja juraron luego Olga Inés Brizuela y Doria, su correligionario Julio Martínez, cuya jura fue muy celebrada y en cuyo marco se escuchó desde los palcos un “¡sí se pudo!”. Y en tercer lugar, el expresidente de la Nación Carlos Saúl Menem, que inicia así su tercer mandato como senador nacional. El riojano lo hizo acompañado por su hija Zulemita que llevaba en brazos a su hijo. “¡Sí, juro!”, señaló firme el exmandatario.

Fue luego la hora de Misiones, y el primero en jurar fue el exgobernador y actual diputado nacional Maurice Closs. A continuación lo hizo el macrista Humberto Schiavoni, y en tercer lugar Magdalena Solari Quintana.

Roberto Basualdo juró a continuación para un nuevo mandato por la provincia de San Juan, y tras él lo hicieron Cristina López de Abarca y José Rubén Uñac, hermano del gobernador sanjuanino, presente en el recinto.

Por la provincia de San Luis, juraron María Eugenia Catalfamo, Claudio Poggi y Adolfo Rodríguez Saá, en ese orden. “Adolfo, Adolfo”, fue el cántico que bajó desde los palcos.

Eduardo Costa fue el senador electo que juró luego, por la provincia de Santa Cruz. Tras él lo hizo la kirchnerista Ana María Ianni y finalmente juró María Belén Tapia.

Los del sur fueron los últimos senadores en jurar, y la sesión concluyó así a las 11.47.

PORTO RECANATI – Sabato 18 maggio a partire dalle 17.00 presso la Pinacoteca “Moroni” di Porto Recanati (MC) si terrà la cerimonia ufficiale di premiazione della terza edizione del Premio Nazionale “Novella Torregiani” – Letteratura e Arti Figurative.

Con la volontà di proseguire nel segno tracciato dalla poetessa, scrittrice e organizzatrice culturale Novella Torregiani, anima della cultura della provincia di Macerata e non solo, venuta a mancare nel 2015, il progetto concorsuale è stato ideato ed è presieduto dalla dr.ssa Emanuela Antonini (biologa e scrittrice), organizzato, a cadenza annuale, dall’Associazione Culturale Euterpe di Jesi.

In questa terza edizione il numeroso materiale letterario e artistico, giunto da ogni parte d’Italia e non solo, è stato esaminato, selezionato e valutato da tre giurie differenziate, scelte e nominate dagli organizzatori del Premio. Il presidente di Giuria delle sezioni letterarie il poeta Sergio Camellini, mentre per la sezione fotografia l’architetto Andrea Bevilacqua e la sezione pittura la pittrice acquarellista Maria Luisa D’Amico.

Tra i componenti di Giuria per la sezione letteratura: Francesca Innocenzi, Rosanna Di Iorio, Angela Catolfi, Loretta Fusco, Valeria D’Amico e Antonio Cerquarelli; per la sezione fotografia: Beatrice Conti, Onorina Lorenzetti, Luca Bentoglio e Lorenzo Cicconi Massi, mentre per la sezione pittura Patrizia Befera, Gabriele Bevilacqua, Christine Noël, Daniele Salvador Patti e Claudio Schiavoni.

Tra i premi principali che verranno assegnati: per la sezione poesia in lingua italiana il podio è stato raggiunto da Stefano Baldinu di San Pietro in Casale (BO) con la poesia “Enrica”, a seguirlo Alexandra McMillan di Genova e Franca Donà di Cigliano (VC); nella sezione poesia in dialetto/lingua straniera al 1° posto Mario De Fanis di Falconara Marittima (AN) con la poesia in lingua francese “Oui j’en avais, de riches trésors ”, 2° posto per Gabriele Di Giorgio di Città S. Angelo (PE) e il 3° posto la veneziana Elena Maneo.

Per la sezione racconto il primo classificato è Piko Cordis di Ascoli Piceno con il racconto “L’egiziana”; a seguire Liviana Ceccarelli di Roma e due ex-aequo si sono contesi il terzo posto Amelia Valentini di Pescara e Massimiliano Ivagnes di Castrignano del Capo (LE).

Per la sezione fotografia il podio è stato raggiunto da Giulio Brega di Fabriano (AN), dietro di lui si sono contesi il 2° posto Nadia Enrica Maria Ghidetti di Fabriano (AN) e Andrea Macciò di Genova, il 3° posto se lo aggiudica Patrizia Rossi di Grottaferrata (RM).

Per la sezione pittura il primo premio è stato attribuito a Emanuele Sassaroli di Maiolati Spontini (AN) con l’opera “Città sommerse”, a seguirlo il pittore Domenico Di Meco di Jesi (AN) e la pittrice Carla Colombo di Imbersago (LC).

Premi Speciali vengono assegnati ad altrettante opere meritevoli giudicate con particolare entusiasmo dalle Commissioni di Giuria: Antonio Fasulo di Avezzano (AQ) per la poesia in lingua italiana, Emanuele Corocher di Verona per il racconto, Romina Ragaglia di Chiaravalle (AN) per la pittura. Il Premio Speciale “Targa Euterpe” va a Gennaro Crovella di Portici (NA) per la poesia in lingua italiana e a Salvatore Gazzarra di Messina per la poesia in dialetto.

La serata di cerimonia del Premio, patrocinato dalla Regione Marche, dall’Assemblea Legislativa della Regione Marche, dalle Provincie di Ancona e Macerata e dal Comune di Porto Recanati, sarà presentata da Emanuela Antonini (Presidente del Premio) e Lorenzo Spurio (Presidente Ass. Euterpe). Il Maestro Massimo Agostinelli, con i suoi interventi musicali alla chitarra, allieterà la serata, durante la quale verrà conferito un “Premio Speciale alla Carriera” all’artista, pittore e incisore, Ottorino Pierleoni di Sant’Elpidio a Mare (FM). Nella prima edizione, nel 2016, il premio alla Carriera era stato conferito al Prof. Armando Ginesi, eminente studioso delle avanguardie artistiche, mentre nella seconda edizione il conferimento era andato alla poetessa, scrittrice e saggista Loretta Emiri.

Avevamo già pubblicato per esteso il manifesto programmatico di Niko Romito nella sua più recente scommessa, insieme a Bulgari Hotels: portare la ricchezza della tradizione italiana, nella sua semplicità, in ogni angolo del mondo, come se fosse appena stata sfornata tra i monti attorno a Casadonna. E infatti è proprio a lì, nel Laboratorio di Niko, tra la panetteria e la cucina centrale del Reale, che Niko e i suoi scudieri si sono messi a pensare, preparare, catalogare e archiviare tutte le ricette per il progetto.

Gli scudieri in ordine di aperture: Claudio Catino, biscegliese doc (e Miglior sous chef per la Guida di Identità Golose 2017, quand’era al fianco di Andrea Berton a Milano) per il ristorante a Pechino, aperto da pochi giorni; Giacomo Amicucci, romagnolo, per il ristorante a Dubai (apertura entro la fine dell’anno) e Davide Capucchio, torinese, per il ristorante a Shanghai (apertura intorno a marzo 2018). L’idea, ambiziosa, in sostanza è quella di creare un tipo di cucina, di altissimo livello, verace e veritiera, che, un po’ alla maniera ducassiana, sia replicabile in ogni angolo del mondo. E una cucina per cui anche un (apparentemente) semplice spaghetto al pomodoro possa emozionare un commensale di Dubai, Milano o Pechino, tanto quanto un avventore delle montagne abruzzesi.

Facile a dirsi, ma terribilmente difficile da realizzare, soprattutto partendo da un parterre come quello cinese (Pechino il primo outpost aperto e Shanghai il terzo a venire appunto) dove la guida Michelin non ha osato mettere piede per anni perché non è semplice sia trovare sia il fornitore degli ingredienti, sia il materiale umano per questo tipo di endeaviour. Deficita l’esperienza, il senso del servizio inappuntabile, la conoscenza e ri-conoscenza dei sapori… in poche parole il software, o i soft skills direbbero i guru del marketing. Della serie: la replicabilità qui in Cina è un’opinione (e forse non è un caso che gli unici tre stelle nel China mainland non appartengono a scuderie tristellate alla Ducasse–Robuchon–Bombana). Ed è forse per questo che l’efficiente Antonio Saponara, napoletano GM dell’hotel Bulgari di Pechino, s’è circondato di una buona dozzina di italiani. Idem, Il Ristorante ha un parterre tricolore di tutto rispetto attorno a Claudio Catino, da Stefano Attardi, interno executive chef dell’hotel, a Dario Schiavoni, restaurant director, a Marco Morandini, sous chef, più altri 3 laowai in sala.

Gli ingredienti ci sono tutti. L’hotel è una meraviglia del made in Italy, con il gusto del design Bulgari, gli interni disegnati da Citterio, l’utilizzo delle maestranze del nostro paese, dalle suite alle amenities dei bagni fino alla gym e alle piscine. Il tutto in una mirabile location, proprio di fronte alla spianata delle ambasciate, a Chaoyang, a godersi di uno dei pochi polmoni verdi della città. A ogni angolo si respira l’anelito verso la perfezione. E anche alla guida del ristorante, in remoto, Niko Romito, e in loco lo chef di cucina Claudio Catino.

“L’entità della sfida”, ci racconta Catino, “l’abbiamo capita fin dal primo giorno di operatività, quando abbiamo toccato con mano la mole di impegno e l’attenzione richiesta per dar da mangiare a 300 persone” Tutte le ricette pensate e prodotte al Laboratorio in Abruzzo sono state soppesate, misurate, standardizzate e catalogate. “Anche il sale è stato pesato al milligrammo e codificato”. Ogni portata aveva una media di 4 minicontenitori per commensale…” moltiplicato per 300! La cucina deve essere sembrata l’armata dell’esercito di terracotta di Xi’an.

Il piede di partenza è quello giusto: è cosi che l’estrazione di brodo vegetale Assoluto, con un tocco di champagne, e l’infuso di funghi (dello Yunnan) sono davvero l’esplosione in bocca che non ti aspetti dichiarata programmaticamente da Niko. L’Antipasto all’italiana è una splendida parade di tutto ciò che la tradizione dei carrelli all’italiana ha prodotto, in un secolo tra una regione e un’altra. Il Maialino croccante cotto 12 ore a 72 gradi è una delizia, cosi come la lasagna: il primo ha come coup de maître una salsa all’arancia, la seconda il sentore di scorza di limone, a significare la passione di Romito per il tocco agrumato.

La Pasta mista con pomodoro, seppie, aglio e prezzemolo e lo spaghetto al pomodoro sono i segnacoli del sic et simpliciter romitiano. Attenzione solo ad alcuni ingredienti come il melone (nel Prosciutto e melone) che rispondono più ai dettami di madre Terra che a quelli della replicabilità. Come al Reale, ci sono due menu degustazione: uno da condivisione (1388 rmb, circa 180 euro) e uno più aspirational “degustazione” da 1688 rmb, 217 euro).

Un nuovo spettacolo al Duse di Genova

MERCOLEDI 18 GENNAIO alle ore 20.30 va in scena al Teatro Duse “LA PAZZA DELLA PORTA ACCANTO”, con protagonista Anna Foglietta che, per questa interpretazione, ha vinto la Maschera del Teatro Italiano 2016 come miglior attrice protagonista. Sul palco insieme a lei, Angelo Tosto, Alessandra Costanzo, Sabrina Knaflitz, Liborio Natali, Olga Rossi, Cecilia Di Giuli, Stefania Ugomari di Blas, Giorgia Boscarino, Gaia Lo Vecchio. Lo spettacolo, prodotto dal Teatro Stabile dell’Umbria e di Catania, è diretto da Alessandro Gassmann che ha anche ideato la scena insieme ad Alessandro Chiti. I costumi sono di Mariano Tufano, le videografie di Marco Schiavoni, le musiche originali di Pivio e Aldo De Scalzi, le luci di Marco Palmieri. “LA PAZZA DELLA PORTA ACCANTO” è un accorato omaggio ad Alda Merini, “la poetessa dei Navigli”, donna dalla straordinaria parabola artistica e umana. E’ la storia del dramma che ha segnato vent'anni della sua vita, lungo i quali fu rinchiusa in un ospedale psichiatrico, raccontato anche attraverso le sue dolenti e meravigliose poesie, pregne di speranza e di misticismo. E’ una storia di resistenza alla cattività forzata, alla solitudine ed è, a suo modo, una storia sul bisogno d’amore che resta inascoltato, in un luogo dove “a chi cerca verità vengono dette solo diagnosi”. Lo spettacolo, scritto dal triestino Claudio Fava è anche un testo di denuncia civile contro il maltrattamento dei manicomi italiani prima della legge Basaglia. Il regista Alessandro Gassmann annota: “Conoscevo Claudio Fava, la sua storia, la sua sensibilità e conoscevo anche Alda Merini, la drammaticità della sua esistenza.
