Bitten Ch. 5 Legacy Review

This chapter to me was more of a chapter to move the plot along than anything. It starts about with an argument between Clay, Elena, and Jeremy about Elena’s place in the pack and what her responsibilities are. Then they meet with the rest of the pack to make a game plan of attack and brainstorm who they think it behind the mutt attacks.

Bitten Ch.4 Meet Review

This chapter starts off with Elena explaining more about Jeremy as she starts her day. She’s not very happy to be there. It goes on to explain how werewolves view women and how that caused her many issues with the pack when she was first turned. I wonder if it’s a coincidence that the only character really wanting to be part of the human world is the only woman in the wolf world, with the way they view women. Elena also goes on to explain that she feels betrayed by Clay for biting her because he took away the life she always wanted for herself in the process. She talks about how she ran away at one point right after she was bitten but she was unable to control herself and she ended up killing people, and even sold her body to survive. When Jeremy found her and took her home she never tried to run away again. She lost everything. She lost her future, had to sell her body, lost control killed and ate someone. No wonder she’s so angry with Clay for biting her. There is a pattern in this chapter of Elena saying something and the other pack members ignoring her boundaries and statements. At breakfast Elena and Jeremy get into a fight.

“I was never angry with you, Elena. You were angry with yourself. That’s why you left. You didn’t like what you did. It frightened you, and you thought you could make it go away by leaving. Has it gone away?”

This is in reference to Jeremy sending Elena on a mission a while back where she ripped a man’s heart out without even thinking about it. She didn’t even ask, or think twice. After all of this the rest of the pack, sans Logan, show up. Nick comes in and sweeps her off her feet. She gets along with him, Antonio, and Peter. Antonio is Nick’s father. Nick personally reminds me of a puppy. He’s so energetic and eager to please. After this she starts explaining how the new arrivals fit into the pack, and their history with one another. Then Jeremy explains that there’s a mutt killing women in their town. They need to stop it by finding the mutt and killing him. At the end of the chapter Jeremy tells the pack he wants to speak to Elena in private.

Rating: 7/10
