Instead of making Oceanus or Themis villains in a Titan-war plotline despite them never turning against the Olympians, I think there are actually a good chunk of underutilized Titans that would make much better villains:
Coeus went mad according to the Argonautica. He could make an absolutely unhinged villain, maybe even a sympathetic one taking into account the righteous anger he must feel over the fate of his daughter Asteria.
And what about Asteria's husband Perses? How would a Titan named for Destruction react if he found out the Kings of the Heavens and Seas both tried violating his wife and harassed her to the point she gave up her immortal life to escape them?
Coeus's son Lelantos also lost his own daughter Aura to the cruel actions of Artemis, Nemesis, Eros, & Dionysus. That would be a good reason make him team up with his dad.
Want a less sympathetic villain that could still be interesting? Maybe Pallas would be a good option. The Titan-God of Warcraft and the consort of Styx, the Goddess of Oaths and Hatred, who left him during the Titanomachy at the suggestion of her father Oceanus. Imagine a showdown between Pallas and his daughter Nike, the Goddess of Victory.
Hyperion, Iapetus, and Crius are basics, while they may not be the most unique villains and just lesser versions of Cronus, you can't easily go wrong with them. Atlas always makes a good villain too.

Kinda interesting that besides the former King Cronus and Queen Rhea, Theia and Hyperion are assumingly the only couple who were able to have a lineage mighty enough for their children to be the personification of the Sun, Moon, and Dawn respectively. Not to mention being able to KEEP that role despite no obvious alliance with Zeus during the Titanomachy. (Helios and Selene get semi-replaced by Apollo and Artemis but still maintain their positions enough that Helios has a role in Hephaestus, Demeter, and Heracles' stories) (also Zeus never seeks out a replacement for Eos as the goddess of Dawn which makes me think that they are amiable with each other)
Compare that to Iapetus' four sons getting fucked in four different directions, Coeus and Phoebe's only real relevance being Leto and their grandchildren by Zeus and being grandparents to Hecate, Oceanus and Tethys producing and losing Metis while their other numerous children play minor to adequate roles, and Crius' sons merely being "husbands" to more well-known deities (Eos, Styx, Asteria). (Astraios being the biggest research disappointment because you'd think the husband of the Goddess of Dawn would be the God of Dusk and have an active role during sunset but no, he's just a God of the stars sadly).
(Of course, there are also Themis' and Mnemosyne's daughters by Zeus, who are very important, but like Leto's case it helps that their children's father is the King of The Gods and Zeus x Titanesses is almost 99% guarantee they get good roles) (then there's Prometheus Bound where Prometheus' mother is Themis only which is cool but I mostly consider Clymene as his mother)
#this post is just a long way for me to justify my hc that theia and rhea are twin sisters destined to have strong children by their husband#gotta love the assonances#greek mythology#rhea#theia#hyperion#cronus#kronos#titans#helios#selene#eos#zeus#hera#poseidon#demeter#hades#hestia#iapetus#clymene#prometheus#epimetheus#atlas#phoebe#coeus#leto#asteria#oceanus#tethys#metis

Hello 👀
Do you have any thoughts on Phoebe and Koios? I love that side of Apollo's family and was wondering 👀
I have never thought much about them because well, there's barely anything about them in the myths but now I do have some thoughts!
So Koios means "query" apparently (according to theoi.com), and add it to the fact that Phoebe is very knowledgeable due to her prophetic powers. Imagine Koios having all sorts of fun and interesting questions for her and Phoebe loves nothing more than answering them and seeing satisfaction spread on Koios' face and that's how they fall in love. They both would be the nerdy couple of the Titans' generation lol. And if course Phoebe would definitely be heartbroken when Koios was banished to Tartarus. But there are versions where Zeus released some Titans, including Koios, so maybe it isn't that much of a tragic tale for them after all.
Theoi.com also says Koios possibly was the Titan of the north pillar of the world. There are no sources cited for this but hey, it can make way for some fun headcanons because you know what lays beyond the north? Hyperborea, which Apollo regularly visited! So did Artemis and Leto occasionally. The twins can have a little chit chat with their gramps before flying off to Hyperborea, as a treat <3 and Phoebe absolutely loves and dotes on her grandkids!! my hc is that Leto named her unborn children Phoebus and Phoebe after her mother (don't ask how she knew the gender-) it's very fitting especially if you consider the version where Phoebe gifts the oracle of Delphi to little Apollo 🥺
It's also very interesting that both the Titans are associated with knowledge, and all of that passed on to Apollo clearly. I had read in a paper a while back where the author wrote how Koios represented the knowledge of the sky while Phoebe represented the knowledge of the earth, and Apollo inherited the knowledge coming from both the sources. This may not have solid evidence in the myths, but I like to think that Apollo inherited qualities from both his grandparents. The prophetic ability from Phoebe and his inquisitive nature from Koios (hence why he is multi-talented, he always seeks to learn something new). Apollo would also be outwardly more affectionate towards his grandparents than Artemis haha they don't have a favorite twin but they definitely enjoy Apollo's company more because they have a lot in common with him.

Au "Deal with the Time" Titans
Oceanus
Oceanus is the first son of Uranus and Gaia. And he doesn't care about anyone or anything. He just exists, gurgling peacefully. There is nothing more to say about him.
The only brother he had any contact with was Chronos. But even the Oceanus doesn't care about him. He would have been sad if he had known about the fate of Chronos, but the Oceanus was not even interested in that. Oceanus does not know the other siblings, although his youngest brother is married to one of his daughters. That's how bad it is.
The eldest and the first not only of the sons, but also of the children of Uranus in general.
Chronos
At the beginning of the story, Chronos perfectly fits the definition of «Lawful Evil». He is pragmatic, determined and determined for revenge. Chronos will always choose what guarantees his success and achievement of the goal, and will not look back at the damage caused by him. Will Titan choose the path of least destruction? If there is such an opportunity, yes, but this is not his priority. First of all, guarantees.
Chronos's motivation is very simple: he considers himself a legitimate ruler who was unreasonably overthrown and dismembered, and he wants revenge for this. For him, the Chthonic gods are nothing more than collateral damage, because the war in any case could not but affect them due to the fact that Hades became the king of the Underworld. In addition, Zagreus, the son of Hades, is also the adopted son of Nyx. She is the main threat to Chronos in the World of the Dead. He couldn't put himself at risk of a confrontation with the night goddess, which is older even than he is, the Time, so Nyx was eliminated first.
Titan perceives his pause spell as mercy, since none of those who fell into it feels anything, time is literally stopped for them. Therefore, Hades is in chains in Tartarus. This is his punishment. The rest are innocent to Chronos, so he shows them mercy. At least from his point of view.
Important note: Chronos in AU is the second son of Uranus. Yes, according to mythology, he is the youngest, but the Supergiant have already made the same Hestia, Demeter and Hera the daughters of Hyperion and Theia, and not Chronos and Rhea, so I think I can change the order a little for the sake of the plot and drama.
Relationships:
Chronos actually takes care of his brothers. He really considers them his own and is ready to do a lot for them. However, unfortunately, this does not make their relationship easier.
Chronos and Hyperion: Due to certain circumstances of their childhood, Chronos is completely unable to express his caring for Hyperion so he prefers to take care covertly or, rather, implicitly for Hyperion himself. This is often expressed by the fact that he covers for his brother when he should have given him a good lesson.
Chronos and Coeus with Crius: Chronos treats the twins like wildcats. When they come, he takes care of them and, if they are in trouble, he saves them. But, in general, they are free to do whatever they want. Chronos will not interfere with their chaos.
Chronos and Iapetus: An older brother for a younger one. They have a close and very trusting relationship, and Chronos will turn the world upside down for Iapetus. Do not touch his younger brother with even a finger, otherwise you will lose your hand.
Hyperion
Meet the local big bully, who for some reason was given a flamethrower. If Chronos is a «Lawful Evil», then Hyperion is a «chaotic evil» in its purest form and, often, in its worst manifestations.
In this story, he is a tragic asshole. Titans is almost completely lost and blurred, many of their domains and spheres of activity were invented by us, based on sources. That's why Hyperion is the titan of daylight. He can warm you up, or he can burn you. Hyperion chose the second. He is the main fighter of Chronos, who, once on the battlefield, will cause the most damage and destruction and will laugh at it. At some point you will wish him dead, and I will fully understand you.
Hyperion is the third son of Uranus.
Relationships:
Hyperion and Chronos: Their dynamics are very complex, and its explanations lie in childhood, which I will tell you about separately. Now it's a strange mixture of contempt, brotherly love and hatred. Hyperion curses his older brother, but he also loves him, even if he does not admit it. Would he betray Chronos? Yes. He would have done it if he didn't hate the Olympians more. But, basically, the relationship of these two should be called bitter and unhappy on both sides. Hyperion is Chronos' left hand and his commander–in-chief
Hyperion and Coeus with Crius: Neutral. They acknowledge each other's existence, but prefer not to get involved. Hyperion tried to fight them once, and Koy and Crius stabbed him many times for it. That was the end of it.
Hyperion and Iapetus: Hyperion hates Iapetus. There's nothing more to say. If he had his way, he would have burned his younger brother and dumped the ashes into Chaos. Alas, Chronos does not allow it.
Coeus with Crius
Coeus and Crius are chaotic neutral. A little wild titans. They're twins. They move the same way, they don't need speech for each other, they look like mirror images. They use only gestures to communicate with others, they hardly speak. Wild and chaotic in a good way. No one knows what's on their minds, and, for the world's well-being, it's better not to know any more.Coeus is the titan of the axis of heaven , and Crius - of the stars. The fourth and fifth sons of Uranus.
Relationships:
Coeus with Crius and Chronos: They love their older brother, believe in him, and fight on his side. But at the same time, if they had just been released after the first Titanomachy, they would have settled into a peaceful life away from everyone. They would not avenge Chronos.
Coeus with Crius and Hyperion: They don't like him. We'd rather it didn't exist. But he is there. They resigned themselves.
Coeus with Crius and Iapetus: Friends. They love and take care of him. They protect Iapet, and they prefer that he be fine.
Iapetus
Iapetus is chaotic neutral with an emphasis on «chaotic». The Trickster.
He seems cheerful and kind at first, but he always has a double bottom and often hidden motives. The most devious and deceitful of sons. Adheres to the rules of morality, but for him they are more of a recommendation character. The local snake and the chief strategist. He is treacherous and very secretive. He is not physically strong and always prefers words to blades. He doesn't get into fights, but he arranges them for others. He can play a long game. An interesting fact: Iapetus is the great–grandfather of Hermes, and Hermes completely took after him in character. They even move and speak alike.
Iapetus is the titan of life. His children are not in vain so closely connected with the human race: he is the creator of monkeys and the first people; now there are no more of them, they all died during the Titanomachy. He values life, but he will take it away if he has to.
The sixth son of Uranus.
Relationship:
Iapetus and Chronos: Iapetus will die and kill for his older brother. He has an unshakable loyalty to him that cannot be shaken. Iapetus is Chronos' right–hand man, his strategist and advisor.
Iapetus and Hyperion: There is mutual hatred between them. If Hyperion had been trampled by a mob, Iapetus would have been the one who set her off. He will not lead it just so that Chronos does not scold.
Iapetus and the twins: They love him, he loves them. The calm family relations of the brothers, even if not the closest.
(English is not my native language, sorry for the mistakes)

I don't want to bother you while you're in your art challenge, take your time to answer! I just loved your analysis and opinion of Branchus, and i saw in the post you said we could ask you for others Apollo's lovers... I want to know (they're not lovers, they're grandfather and grandmother lol, but i would like to see your thoughts) of Koios and Phoebe 👀 Not in relationship with Apollo, just your opinion of them...
We don't know so much about Koios, we know a bit more about Phoebe because of her tie to Delphi and the Oracle.
Oh, how sweet! Thank you so much for the consideration and hey, no worries at all on asking about his grandparents rather than a lover, I'm always ready to ramble about Apollo's genealogical line since I find it extremely interesting!
Since information on a lot of the older Titans in terms of how they were worshipped and seen is scarce (Phoebe does have mentions in her mantic right but very little is mentioned in reference to Koios or her daughters apart from establishing genealogy and Koios himself seems to have been more of an abstract establishment, the way a lot of Hesiod's old gods were) I won't go out of my way to quote or base my opinions here in any literature that I've been exposed to, so just keep in mind that what I'm going to say is very much my own opinions mixed with things I understand and very influenced by my own love of familial and romantic parallels in god-pairs being symbolic of various natural and abstract relationships!
I see Koios and Phoebe, like a lot of the older Titan pairs, as abstractions of the original pair of Gaia and Uranus. Power often originates with and is exerted by women in these older pairs while glory is what is passed on, and consequently fought over, by the men - in Gaia and Uranus' case, it is Gaia who is older and it is from Gaia that Uranus is born. Uranus is her match but is also her subservient and so when Uranus is unable to love his children and seeks their destruction, it's Gaia who bestows the power and means by which to silence him. This 'equal but subservient' dynamic is definitely alive and well with Koios and Phoebe and I even think they mirror their parents from a symbolic standpoint as well.
Koios and Phoebe are the knowledge duo. They represent the two sources of knowledge/wisdom in the old world - that of heavenly (male) knowledge which pertains to the nature of the physical world and its realities and earthly (female) knowledge which pertains to the nature of intangible and unobservable reality such as time and space. I like having them mirror each other; what with them both being associated with their respective world axes (Koios as the heavenly axis if you syncretise him with the Roman Polos, Phoebe as the earthly axis if you take Delphi as the centerpoint of the world), having serpent symbolism (Koios with the hundred-headed star-serpent Drakon who guards the Hesperides which is sometimes said to be located in the land of the Hyperboreans and Phoebe with Python who guards the fount of knowledge at Delphi) and splitting their essence equally across their descendants (Their children and grandchildren perfectly embody one half of their partnership - Asteria with her heavenly magic and night-prophecies and Leto with her earthly power and wisdom and their grandchildren following likewise; Hecate who works beneath her grandfather's skies and has her grandmother's wisdom but who has chosen to reside neither in the sky nor on the earth, Artemis who could not be more of a daughter of the soil and Apollo who has his place among the brightest of stars).
It all leads back to that really fun dichotomy of equal but subservient honestly! Knowledge (and wisdom/intelligence) in general in Greek myths are female in nature so already that kind of puts Koios in an interesting position as a direct male descendent of Gaia and Uranus who didn't represent some physical, tangible element (in contrast his brothers all had some level of physicality to them - Oceanus the oceans, Cronus the harvest, Crius the winds, Hyperion the light, so on and so forth) but there's also that element of Koios' glory also being female! After all, his only male descendent is two generations removed and what should be his seat of power - Hyperborea - became Leto's the moment she was born there.
In this way, I admittedly find that a lot of comfort in Koios and Phoebe's partnership. There's a lot of respect both ways between them with Koios' respect and regard of Phoebe reminding me a lot of Uranus' original adoration of Gaia (and his return to said quiet, constant adoration after his castration) while Phoebe's overseeing of her mantle being very reminiscent of Gaia's own kingmaking both for Cronus and later for Zeus. For me, theirs is a pair without ego. A lot of the friction and instability in the younger generation of gods comes from the battle between intelligence and power - toes are constantly stepped on, glory is constantly being sought and the efforts made to counteract these moves results in conflict. Koios and Phoebe seem to have it all figured out by comparison. They've both handily passed their mantles down to their children, they've both overseen and instructed them and can rest easy knowing that they will not misuse said mantles and they've both just kind of retired now, content to spend their time in the evergreen Hyperborea, wrapped up in each other's arms like their father and mother before them and like, honestly? Good for them.
#ginger rambles#ginger chats about greek myths#pursuing daybreak posting#This was a lot of fun to put into words ngl!#I really love thinking about Koios and Phoebe because I genuinely just imagine that they're stupidly powerful#stupidly in love old people who are just living out their days peacefully after millenia of nonsense#It helps that their grandchildren genuinely have shit so under control all the time - they legit never have to step in or squabble over#politics or power. Like grandma and grandpabbie are straight vibing and you love to see it#Considering Drakon and Python - I also really like paralleling them as implements of Koios and Phoebe#Because Apollo slays Python and in doing so transitions from child to man as he claims his birthright while Heracles#slays Drakon for the golden apples as the last step before his metaphorical apotheosis; his trip into death and his glorious return#No I will never stop talking about Apollo and Heracles as a sibling and divine pair you can't stop me#But yeah no - Koios and Phoebe are super cool I love them a lot and I genuinely think the femininity of the mantic line is something#worth exploring not just from an academic perspective but from a literary perspective because female power in Greek myths is extremely#and distressingly underrated like it's actually crazy. Apollo's whole family line is nothing but powerful ass women#Anyway I'm not gonna get onto that soapbox here but just think about it#Hope you enjoyed reading this anon <33#Coeus#Phoebe#Apollo#Artemis#Leto#Asteria#greek mythology

The idea of Zeus making personal sacrifices to free his siblings and damaging himself irrevocably in the process is really personal to me. He gives EVERYTHING up for them. He had a fine life with his mommas in Akkadia with his bee-keeping grandpa, and he finds out his real dad ate his siblings and he can't sit with that. He can't just let it go. He could go back to his fields and herd his goats, but he lets a cruel tyrant make him his servant instead so he can save them.

It drives me crazy that Coeus/Crius, Theia/Rhea, & Hera/Hades have the most twin coded names and are suspiciously listed side by side in birth order only for zero historical sources to call them twins

Now I was thinking about the Murder of Adonis protagonist and...so far I have three candidates.
Athena: A boring choice but if there's a Goddess smart enough to piece together the murderer of Adonis with 3 suspects then it's her. Even if all 3 suspects are family. Coenus: The Titan of Wisdom is where things get interesting, I can see him being released from Tartarus by Persephone and Aphrodite to solve the mystery in exchange for freedom

for you, what to you think is the birth order for the 12 Titans? Love to have you back and your reasonings are fun :)
thank you nonnie 🧡 there’s nothing I love more than making lore out of crumbs we have, so here’s my interpretation!
In Hesiod’s Theogony, we get this birth order: "She [Gaia, Earth] lay with Ouranos (Uranus, Sky) and bare deep-swirling
1. Okeanos (Oceanus), 2. Koios (Coeus) 3. Krios (Crius) and 4. Hyperion and 5. Iapetos (Iapetus), 6. Theia and 7. Rhea, 8. Themis and 9. Mnemosyne and gold-crowned 10. Phoibe (Phoebe) and lovely 11. Tethys. After them was born 12. Kronos (Cronus)."
EDIT: I missed two more accounts, one from the Pseudo-Apollodorus' Bibliotheca (who listed Dione as a Titaness):
"Ouranos (Uranus, Sky) . . . fathered other sons on Ge (Gaea, Earth), namely the Titanes (Titans) :
1. Okeanos (Oceanus), 2. Koios (Coeus), 3. Hyperion, 4. Krios (Crius), 5. Iapetos, and 6. Kronos (Cronus) the youngest; also daughters called Titanides (Titanesses) : 1. Tethys, 2. Rhea, 3. Themis, 4. Mnemosyne, 5. Phoibe (Phoebe), Dione, and Theia."
and another from the Diodorus Siculus' Library of History (which sites Cronus as the oldest and forgets Theia)
The males were 1. Kronos (Cronus), 2. Hyperion, 3. Koios (Coeus), 4. Iapetos, 5. Krios (Crius) and 6. Okeanos (Oceanus) , and their sisters were 7. Rhea 8. Themis, 9. Mnemosyne, 10. Phoibe (Phoebe) and 11. Tethys. Each one of them was the discover of things of benefit to mankind, and because of the benefaction they conferred upon all men they were accorded honors and everlasting fame."
Of the three accounts mentioned I've noticed some similarities:
All three accounts have the pattern Rhea-Themis-Mnemosyne-Phoebe consistently
Two accounts have Oceanus as the oldest child and one as the youngest brother
Two accounts have Tethys as the youngest daughter and one as the oldest daughter
Iapetus is the closest in age to Cronus in two accounts and the second closest in the other
Koios is often the second or third son
Now, just because I've noticed these doesn't necessarily mean I will follow these "rules" in making my own birth order, especially considering many narrative issues regarding Styx/Pallas and Atlas/Pleione being second-generation Titans with fully grown children during the war (as well as well, who I think would fit more into the role of older/younger).
So, here is my own version (sprinkled in with headcanon):
BIRTH ORDER OF THE TWELVE OTHYRIANS:
1-2. Oceanus and Tethys (eldest son and daughter) - So Oceanus is described by Hera as where “all gods have risen” in the Iliad, and in the same breath describes Tethys as “our mother” and in another account by Homer- “Okeanos (Oceanus) the origin of the gods, and Tethys their mother.” They are also identified with Ophion and Eurynome, the supposed first King and Queen of the Heavens before Cronus and Rhea had them overthrown. Because of that, and because Tethys is often described as a loving mother/nurse, I like to think of O&T as a unit (Oceanus still as the older one but Tethys following shortly after) who once took care of their younger siblings especially when Gaia and Uranus were constantly fighting and fell in love in the process, vowing to have many kids of their own when they got married. Oceanus abstaining from the castration can be because of many reasons, but I believe it had to do with his kind nature, being a father and not wanting to set a bad example towards them (thus disappointing Gaia and prompting Cronus to take action)
3. Crius (second brother)- EDIT: making Crius the second oldest as one of his sons, Pallas, later marries Styx, Oceanus, and Tethys' oldest daughter, and unless they were older woman/younger man I prefer that they were closer in age (and I guess narratively it would Make Sense for Oceanus' oldest to be betrothed to the child of the sibling who came after him). As for loyalty, his sons Pallas and Perses are vaguely dutiful to the Titans during the war.
4. Iapetus (third brother) - As much as I like Cronus and Iapetus being closest in age for brothers, Iapetus being older makes more sense to me. Atlas is his eldest son (with a wife and children) and Cronus’ right hand, rather than Iapetus himself, so I believe that Iapetus thinks Atlas would do a much better, youthful job at it. Cronus could see Iapetus as everything Oceanus should’ve been, the reliable older brother (even if his traitorous other nephew Prometheus joined the opposite side)
5. Hyperion (fourth brother) - no particular reason for this one besides being close to Theia’s age and his children being close to Hestia-Zeus' age.
6-7. Theia & Rhea (second and third sister) - TWINS TIME BABYYY. This is all purely headcanon be warned. As I’ve mentioned before, in my ficverse Theia and Rhea were born as twins destined to have favorable children. Theia eventually becomes close with Hyperion, marrying him and leaving Rhea jealous but happy to see little Eos, Helios, and Selene grow up. Rhea begins sticking closer to Themis, Phoebe, and Cronus after Theia’s wedding. Theia and Rhea’s relationship is still close as they once joked about their firstborns being fire starters (Helios and Hestia) in the short time frame before Cronus devoured Hestia.
8. Themis (fourth sister) - besides the constant of Themis being younger than Rhea, my main reasoning with this is simply that Zeus marrying his aunt who is younger than his mom is more palatable than marrying an aunt older than her (then again both Titanesses are older than his father but Zeus isn’t close to his dad anyways). Narratively her getting the oracle makes much sense too as her older sisters have their roles (Tethys is the mother of the ocean deities, and Theia and Rhea are destined to have favorable kids), it would make sense for Gaia to give her the Oracle and become her prophetic successor (before giving it to her younger sister Phoebe as she establishes herself as the goddess of divine law)
9. Phoebe (fifth daughter) - being the younger to Themis, she gets the Oracle of Delphi from her and is the third goddess to hold it before giving it to her grandson Apollo (Aeschylus, Eumenides 1 ff). Besides that, she’s renowned thanks to her grandchildren. I still want her to be older than Mnemosyne as I imagine her kind of mature while Mnemosyne more youthful.
9. Mnemoysne (Melete, Aiode, Thelixonoe, Arche, Mneme) (sixth-tenth daughter) - OKAY so I had this idea when reading about the Elder Muses, who were said to be daughters of Ge/Gaia according to Mimnermus. There are two accounts, one with four muses (Thelixonoe, Aode, Arche, and Melete) and one with three (Melete, Aiode, and Mneme). Mneme is said most likely to be Mnemosyne as her name means “Memory” but honestly, what if they were all Mnemosyne? What if Mnemosyne was like Garnet in Steven Universe, a combination of close Muse sisters to make up an entire deity? Seems cooler than just forgetting about these Muses. Making Mnemosyne the younger makes sense too since Muses are said to be youthful/have the least amount of responsibility.
10. Dione (eleventh daughter) - yeah actually why not make Dione a Titaness too? Most have her as a daughter of Oceanus and Tethys but there are accounts of her being the child of Gaia and Uranus, also I like the little headcanon of him and Phorcys being Titans as Plato wanted. (Albeit in most canon Phorcys is cited as a son of Gaia and Pontos which is. close enough!)
11-12. Coeus and Cronus (fifth and sixth brother) - I still wanted Coeus and Cronus to be twins/close the age gap, mainly because alliterative names are cool and should be highlighted. Coeus is allegedly the Titan of Intellect, so To Me as an older brother who gives advice and not really proactively fights like their older brothers (also, I like to think Asteria and Hestia are within the same age group), and Cronus’ birth order is fixed as the youngest.
EDIT: Aside from their main family tree, they also have the three Cyclopes and three Hecatoncheires, the Pontus-Gaia family tree of Eurybia (Crius' wife), Thaumas (Iris and Arke's father), Ceto (The Gorgon's mother), Nereus (father of the Nereids), Aegaeon (ally to the Titans), Phorcys (Ceto's mate) and the four Telchines who invented metalwork and made Cronus' infamous sickle.
