Illustration I did of my Pathfinders Writing Collective (PaWriCo) challenge I tittled "Project Lighthouse".

Mary is the main character, a loner Lighthouse Keeper and Gavin, her emotional support seagull. They both live in a gloomy coastal village where they go through a path of selfdiscovery alongside with dark misteries and suspicios deaths.

It definitely has the feeling that you have been wronged today by seeing all your pre-planned activities all go belly up due to other people’s attitude in ruining what you hoped would be a fun filled day. Anger and aggression may surface but deeper down resides a breathing wisdom that quietly teaches you that it is not the actions of others today that are at fault but your inability to be gentle, compassionate and loving with yourself when things aren’t going your way.

This is from Collecting Keepers. I’m finishing up my draft (!!) so it was tricky to find a recent line without major spoilers:

Severed pipes, their diameters ranging from the size of pen caps to manhole covers, stuck out from the stones like eels jolting out of their hiding spots. Water gushed from their toothed and broken edges. The massive tunnel disappeared through the wall, through which the giant stones had been swept away.

I changed a few of the details here to hide a plot point, just for fun :)
