For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
Galatians 5:17
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:19-21
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7
“Come now, and let us reason together,” saith the Lord. “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
Isaiah 1:18
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
And such were some of you. But ye are washed, ye are sanctified, ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:11
For by one offering He hath perfected for ever those who are sanctified.
Hebrews 10:14
"To them God has been pleased to make known what is the riches of glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
Colossians 1:27

If we eat the Bread of Life, Christ will abide in us and we in Him. Only then can we glorify His Name in all we say and do.

Faith Over Fear: What Do We Have to Be Afraid Of?
Introduction Fear is one of the most natural human emotions. It can keep us safe—but it can also hold us back, consume our thoughts, and steal our peace. As followers of Christ, we’re not immune to fear—but we are invited to live differently. Scripture doesn’t deny fear; it simply calls us to something greater: faith. My wife and I are on vacation in Costa Rica, and on a tour we took this…

What Are You Advertising?
By Adrian Rogers “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”  Colossians 1:27 I read somewhere years ago about a little boy who got saved in the children’s church. One of the adults instructed him to go to the adult service and to tell the pastor he needed to get saved and baptized. Well, he…

Where is Jesus?
I was pleasantly surprised and joy-filled when I walked through the corridor to our apartment and saw this beautiful nativity set and the large characters displayed. It warmed my heart and soul! This nativity scene and those in our homes are more than decorations. They are invitations to reflect on the heart of the Christmas story. But what happens when the baby in the manger is missing? Years…

Embrace Thanksgiving
This is a really great Thanksgiving Devotional to peruse through and enhance your soul in gratefulness, creating a desire to Embrace a lifestyle of Thankfulness.
Embrace Thanksgiving This is the season for Thanksgiving, so we are more aware of being grateful, but it would be such a great thing for our souls if we would embrace “Giving Thanks” as a way of life, a part of our daily life from day to day. I am thinking if we do this, if we become grateful, thankful people, on a daily basis, embracing thanksgiving as part of our character, we will know God’s…

Steadfast Faith in Christ: Standing Tall and Moving Forward
In this critical time, we are called to elevate our faith and broaden our understanding of the grand mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Photo by Jordan Steranka on Unsplash Standing a little taller with steadfastness of faith in Christ requires a resolute commitment to His teachings and a deep trust in His divine will. As 1 Corinthians 16:13 encourages us, “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.” This verse calls us to be vigilant, firm, and courageous in our faith. It’s about embracing a strength that…

Image Bearer
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27 And have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Colossians 3:10 God created us in His image. Meaning, unlike the rest of creation, we can make decisions, have thoughts, feelings, dreams, and disappointments. We are complex,…

Introduction Whether we like it or not—God doesn’t give us a choice—when we declare ourselves followers of Christ, when we accept His glorious gift of grace, mercy, and forgiveness, we’re also stepping into the “uniform” of a Christ-follower. What does that look like, though? Is it a coat and tie for men on Sunday morning, and a properly long dress for the ladies? The right haircut, the right…

Is Jesus Working Through You?
By Adrian Rogers “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”  Colossians 1:27 In the gospels, you find out what Jesus did in His human body. In the Book of Acts, you find out what Jesus is doing in His spiritual body, the Church. Jesus is still active and alive on the Earth today, and He still…

Couldn’t answer this question bc of a glitch
Buttt
Great question — and I’m glad you asked, because this is one of the most misunderstood points people bring up.
Yes, I quoted Leviticus — but I’m not cherry-picking. I understand that Leviticus contains civil, ceremonial, and moral laws that were given to the nation of Israel under the Old Covenant. And as Christians, we’re no longer under the ceremonial or civil laws — like dietary restrictions or clothing rules — because Jesus fulfilled the law (see Matthew 5:17).
Colossians 2:16-17 – “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink… These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.”
Mark 7:18-19 – Jesus Himself declared all foods clean, saying “nothing that enters a person from outside can defile them.”
But moral laws, like prohibitions against murder, theft, adultery, and yes, same-sex relations, are reaffirmed in the New Testament as still binding for followers of Christ.
1 Corinthians 6:9–10, Romans 1:26–27, and 1 Timothy 1:9–10 all reaffirm that same-sex sexual activity is sinful — not just in the Old Testament, but in the New.
So when I reference Leviticus, I’m not doing it in isolation. I’m showing the continuity of God’s moral law — a standard of holiness that reflects His nature. And sexual ethics are part of that.
Just because some Old Testament laws were specific to the Jewish nation and no longer apply doesn’t mean none of them do. The moral law transcends culture, covenants, and time — and it’s consistently upheld throughout Scripture.
If I believed God’s standard changed just because society did, that would be cherry-picking.
