let not the renewed interest which the mundane populace has taken in our community frighten or deter you: our mortal counterparts have for centuries brushed up against the veil that keeps their world divided from ours, and come away without our secret in hand or noose. it is my staunch belief that this will not change, that our magic will not err.
i urge every fable to recall the compact over which all our hands passed in writ agreement that our seclusion is imperative—our concealment, paramount. the alternative to it is not exposure; it is extinction. our shared secret cannot be safeguarded without the express duty of every fable whom i am fortunate to have in my purview, whom i am fortunate to call friend.
a gala shall be held on the highest floor of the woodland luxury apartments, in the mayoral penthouse, as has been the custom of this holiday. the thirteenth floor witches have been so good as to render it boundless for this night only, such that all may be accommodated. before admittance into the penthouse, every fable must submit themself to the business office to re-sign and reaffirm their avowal of the compact. come, revel, as we did in the lands of our birth, in the hopes that we may someday be reunited with them. until then, we must hold fast to the beliefs which carried us across worlds, to the sanctuary we now call home.
fables of the farm must make haste to commute such that they may arrive in time for the festivities. the knights of malta hospital, as well as all establishments on the crooked mile, are expected to close earlier (no later than 4.00 p.m.) and shall be compensated for the loss of operating hours by the deputy mayor, bluebeard (subject to claims made to the business office forthwith).
the woodland luxury apartments will be the nexus of proceedings: the business office shall retrieve the fabletown compact (an archaic, spellbound grimoire) from the library and prepare it for the re-signing, a formal event which takes place in the business office; the council shall convene in the morning to discuss measures to curtail mundane interest; the sheriff’s office shall be dispatched and on stand-by to maintain order; and the witches of both the thirteenth floor and mary’s cottage shall commence their reinforcement of the glamour and concealment spells which cloak fabletown and the farm.

First New Post!
Hi there! My name's Edd, welcome to my blog! I live with my friends Matt, Tom, Tord, and Dan (and our friend CL who lives next door, but she sleeps here often enough to say she lives here), and I thought it'd be cool to open a blog to post to and talk to people!
I guess the last part means you can ask questions if you want, the inbox is open! I might could pass on a few questions to my friends, but don't forget the name of the blog is ask-edd, so don't get too obsessed with them, ha ha
(Hello and welcome to the ask-edd reboot! The new format is still mostly the same, you ask questions, I answer them with the sprites, but there's some differences
For starters, you can't just ask anyone anymore, this is ask-edd, you're gonna be asking Edd. Buuuut because I know the rest of the characters are still popular, so they're still somewhat askable. Edd can hand off his phone for someone else to respond, but that only works if he can physically hand them his phone, like he can hand it off to Tom any time when he's at home, but if you wanna ask Bing, he'd have to be at Bing's place or to ask Hellu he'd have to be at his house, etc
I also plan on sprinkling in original posts/art from time to time, along with bringing back events with special characters; plus Edd's gonna travel a bit more so other people are askable sometimes (though most likely just on weekends unless it's some kind of holiday)
This is also a new AU, meaning events happened differently than they did in the original run of ask-edd. Backstories, relationships, events, everything from before the reboot is officially noncanon to this current run. Granted a few things are similar, like the lads are still spliced and such, but how or why some things happened are different
And for the most exciting part (to me anyway): I made a new server! This one's more compact and succinct with easier to navigate channels and a map for the general channels just to be safe. There's roles for if you wanna get pinged for updates and things going on in VC like drawing, games, or movies, plus I plan on hosting polls there, both for fun and to decide on things on the blog, along with having a lore channel so if you forget anything backstory-wise, you can ask about it there. I also plan on adding fake currency in the future that you can earn in a myriad of ways to spend on things like askbox priority, special magic anons, and maybe even the option to answer an ask yourself! The link will be in the replies since tumblr likes to kill posts with links

"fashionable"ness aside mini pcs are actually really good for what they are and can be so cheap compared to similar tiers of desktops. theyre less serviceable and top out at less power but you can get an entire home server or portable/compact browsing/document editing machine for $30-100 that will be crazy more energy efficient and take up the same space as a mousepad.
theyre usually made to be 'thin clients' that you see on the back of a monitor in a receptionists office type scenario, where the computer needs to do almost no real work but needs to be snappy at accessing the web and internal servers. this is also basically the same use case as chromebooks, theyre cheap and light and efficient because theyre perfectly built to be able to do anything from a browser depending on a remote server, like social media or google docs editing or video conferencing. so theyre pretty bad for a lot of types of use! but theyre also reallly good for the kind theyre designed for and its one of those things that you know whether thats you or not. i wish they had been so accessible like 8 years ago, my family spent $200 on a personal computer for me and it was an i3 igpu fleet desktop and it was a turd

On prague and food
Places to eat in Prague, curated by a local. All of them located in a neatly small radius and all great for taking a break from all the czech restaurants wannabe that only look to capitalize on tourists.
I am not a food blogger. And don't aim at becoming one, even though there is an incentive to commence composing a cookbook. I actually promised a friend of mine that I would post a weekly recipe for him this year but as you may check on my BigOven profile, it did not really follow suit. Yet. What is important, though, is the place I made this promise. Whenever he comes over to Prague from his new home city, that is Glesga, it is my task to find the right place for a catch-up early dinner. It is difficult to find decent restaurant in the Czech metropolis. You mostly encounter the tourist-targeting convention of overpriced meaty dishes infused with salt, our national habit of using pre-made components, or a combination of thereof. The surprise is how many of them are in proximity of a district 2 square, only popular among locals, end even that is limited to the period of Christmas market craze.

When you are looking for Italian, Czech Republic does not have much to offer in terms of authenticity. The Peace Square, as you may translate its name, there are two places that closely adhere to it.
Classic Italian: Grosseto
The more budget-friendly of them, and the only one that serves pizza, is Grosseto. A restaurant so respected that it had become a network with four diners, an Italian imports shop, and its own culinary academy, with both hobbyist and professional classes. Although this particular place is not the one where it all started, you get to experience identical range of Italian classics made to specification set by one of their three star chefs, specialists in their own branch of the cuisine: regional classics, gourmet specials, and pizza. After the standard procedure of table assignment, you sit down in a compact, yet airy, interior, get to observe the passion-driven pizza chef throw dough back and forth, receive international-standard service from the front of house staff, and don't usually have to wait too long before your meal arrives. And that is in spite of all meals, including the specials, being made to order with no shortcuts. The overall experience is pleasant and definitely worth every penny.
Coastal Italian: Aromi
The posh option that emphasises the Italian beyond pizza and pasta is Aromi, led by a chef with Michelin experience, Riccardo Lucque. At the price, you obviously get the level of service where a porter takes care of your coats, sits you down in a spacious interior decorated with original paintings, introuces himself by first name, and remains your server all the way through the experience. There is fresh fish and seafood on display, any item of which you can ask to be made for you in the original fashion or any other way you like. Well, the chefs will obviously give your personal waiter a long stare once he brings in a monkfish to be made into fish and chips. On top of this, there is obviously a short permanent menu, number of seasonal specials, and couple of ready-to-serve lunchtime dishes. Five course menu culminating with Italian small-batch roast coffee is therefore an option. Personally, I would not be able to justify the bill on regular occasion, but I do greatly appreciate what you get for the money. Anniversary, maybe?
Vietnamese: Pho Vietnam Tuan & Lan
This basement bistro is not too well known due the massive competition from their compatriots. See, the Vietnamese to Prague are like the Indians to London or the Moroccans to Paris. This place is however the only one that received endorsement from the nationally established advocates of high gastronomy, namely chef Zdeněk Pohlreich, and mentor Roman Vaněk. While the inconvenient interior and order-at-the-bar approach to service might be an issue to some, the main reason for your visit, food, is authentic and far outweighing the downsides. Starting with a ready made fresh shrimp roll or its fried counterpart stuffed with beef handed over immediately upon your arrival is highly recommended. The two signature dishes here include Phở Bò, an enormous bowl of broth with noodles, boiled beef, and chives, and Bún bò Nam Bộ, an alternative with lower amount of water and greater variety of veggies. Two undisputed upsides of this restaurant is lack of horrible cheap-plastic decorations so typical for Vietnamese restaurants everywhere, and its price level, which is with respect to the amount of food and culinary satisfaction the lowest on this list.
Burger: Dish
It's not like going out for a burger would be something you take an airplane to do, but in case all the new tastes overwhelm you and you just want something familiar, Dish is definitely the place to go. Everything is made to order from fresh ingredients, the patties seem to be made of pure beef and their menu composition just works. And their fries are wonderful. Inside the interior, where you better book table for both lunch and dinner, everything is quite crammed, but that only makes sense, given their popularity, for the sake of which they opened in a second location. Service takes more modern approach and I like to deal with them that way, especially since staying in for a chat after the meal is not something I would prefer, given the acoustic conditions.
Fast Food: Bageterie Boulevard
In case you are just passing and feel like grabbing a quick meal to keep you going through further Prague adventures, check out one of the two nearby outlets of the popular Czech franchise Bageterie Boulevard. The first one is just southeast of the square, while the other, smaller one, is to the west. They offer a wide range of ready made sub fillings with a choice of bread and a menu option that includes portion of baked potatoes and a fresh ice tea. In addition to that, they do a pair of quarterly specials, soup of the day, muffins, and biscuits. There is also a coffee of custom blend on offer, which I prefer avoiding. Nevertheless, the place is wonderful to call at for quick lunch in the house or a takeaway dinner. Since it is a franchise, your choice will taste the same, no matter the location, but you will not be served a stack of prefabricated components.
After you eat: Banyan Tearoom
When I make plans to go out with my friends, we never discuss where to go. Visit to the Banyan tearoom is implied. The routine starts off with a teapot of Touareg and continues with an optional shisha paired with a pick from the menu.

And in case you like to cook yourself, I do suggest Book Therapy, where they have a lot of hipster-targeted books including a nice range of regional cuisine cookbooks.

i dicided to make a christmas character take
so for this christmas on tumblr i dicided to make a take on any character from a christmas movie or cartoon. i,m thinking of home alone and the character i,m choosing is kevin mccallister.
so for cannon. kevin is the youngest in the mcallister family tormented and possibly bullied by his own family and feels like they hate him and therefore want them gone. he got his wish for Christmas's until he defeated the we bandits then they come back until he has to run when he heres buzz mad at what he did to his room.
so as for my take i,m taking the timeline to the modern 21st centry.
for this is i am obessed right now about hackers and i found a hackers road map video and so it includes I.T (information technology), A+, security, networking, linux, and coding and then start hacking.
so in this one kevin somehow was able to get himself a laptop and was just doing stuff on it watching videos on youtube and playing games lets say roblox (cause thats my favriot gaming platform).
but then hed stumble upon something. while playing a game, he noticed a glitch and wonderd what it was and saw it again the server crashed and kevin and other players (some of them were youtubers) were not happy. it turns out the game got hacked and kevin wonderd what that was. this would trigger something kevin never thought would happen to him but as he looked up hacking tools he had one geuss from what he quickly lerned as a script kiddie and tried out linux and other things he soon got to know everything about hacking in 1 second having written a computer virus he in a split second after a launched a virus lerned how to hack in a moment as well as command prompt and other hacking tools as he used them to quickly make a virus on not only the computer but also a cell phone. the police came on the door as it became known to kevin that he made something and read what he wrote. it was a line of code. thats when he looked at linux and cmd (command prompt) and saw what he wrote without anything no syntax error no nothing and found out what he did. he imidently gained how to do all this in one moment and with it a full understanding of how internet works and ect of what hackers use as well as an advanced. kevin in that moment lerned how to do all programming languages some way some how and his machine and cpu. hed go on to make himself a hacker kit used for a laptop computer disinged to do all linux and other stuff and a cell phone and tools for hacking as well as lerning how to binary code (the combonation code of 1s and 0`s for ex: 10011101010011001100101011001)
without even knowing what he was doing or lerning until the police came and left when the coast was clear and the virus was gone as kevin somehow imbeded it. thats when he came to know and realized what hed done. without knowing it he had servers he made for both cell phone and computer witch he lerned to be hacker on both tech`s. he lerned the new computer and new cell phone for assembly and other things not knowing what happened but that very night as he though and looked at his code like thing thats when he realized he lerned hacking quicly. its unknown how kevin lerned hacking that fast and then did vanilla all programming languages and vanilla linux and cmd as he saw what happened he became a grey hat after declaring neutrality in the cyber battlefield but soon began engaging in a mixture of ethical acts but also malicous activity thought most of it was thankfully ethical. eventually overnight somehow it made sense to kevin as he soon wrote code encrypting his information compleatly and made his own internet and wifi and vpn ect his computer and phone had stuff in them generating inf amount of both electricity and coolant. allowing him to work forever though he doesnt.
later he got a black hoodie with the hacker symbol on it. his hacker kit is basicly a suit case but silver metal and is so small its compact and has mettal techy straps and can be tightened and fliped for work while walking or to just carry it on back end or front artifically (most of the time, the front).
kevin now works as a grey hat hacker in this timeline tech version of home alone. this time he wont be left alone in the house though however the police had already seen the wet bandits and put them in jail and they wont escape until kevin and his family come back home from paris.
kevin is still harrassed by the older siblings so instead he stays in his own room and keeps himself as isolated from his entire family as possible as long as possible. knowing the typical reactions they have to him he doesnt bother coming out except for breakfest lunch, dinner, event, or holiday (even those times he takes his hacker moible desk as he calls it or H.M.D, with him and back to his room whenever keep in mind that its always with him no matter the circumstance)
its compact enough for him to keep whereever he finds himself and it works cause he made a chip generating inf wifi its own wifi and can connect to towers anywhere even in the middle of nowhere or on a plane but big enough to hold all his stuff (its equal for compact mobility and reliability and stuff holding and is still light wieght to).
this is my take on kevin known as hacker kevin. his technology art however hasnt gone unnoticed by the older siblings who often could if they have the chance accuse him of doing crime through technology though its always proven ethical no matter the circumstance as there is no way to proove to the parents.
its also said sence kevin isolates himself for the greater good his kid friends are also hackers as well. he can do the dark web and stuff. he has his own hacker library and on a plane or in public he doesnt say anything and rather minds his own busniss and igorns the older siblings as they are more likly to typicly harrass him so instead hes away though on a plane he can be forced to. he minds crypto for money witch gets him rich alot and he knows other responsiblities. even if home alone kevin is calm and easily defeats the bandits and hangs around his hacker friends who are about justice.
Kevin can be sometimes darkened and burdened by his hacker knowledge. He packs his own suit case himself as doesn't need others to pack it for him should it otherwise risk his secret identity as a hacker being discovered and one thing leads to another and next thing you know after discovered its now exposed to his entire family. Especially buzz sence buzz is a total jerk Kevin ignores and ditches buzz on purpose cause why mess with a jerk.
One time he faced a black hat hacker in front of everyone exposed once they saw what he was doing the hacker talked to Kevin about the code he wrote and all the things he did as a hacker with everyone listening the black hat hacker told Kevin to look at the line of code he wrote and what it did. Kevin looked at the code read it and saw what happened and it hit him he learned a long term thing in such a way that for him it was a short term deal and Kevin said "but how". That's when it hit Kevin he knew how to hack. Kevin explained a part of him knew what it was doing but as for the rest of him it's like he's just mindlessly typing nonsense and just somehow it messed with the server for some reason but with this his mind has exploded to great knowledge of what he's doing now. The hacker said to Kevin "it's your intelligence Kevin deep in your mind you know what your doing and it makes sense now your one of us what people know as the hacker the cyberpunk" Kevin leaped up and shooted at the screen to the hacker he would never be like him but the hacker insisted that he already is the code he wrote has wrecks the victims computer or phone with malware and randomware imbeds the code and tracking evidence with hello world. Kevin in utter guilt can't think of how to hack anymore as the fight continued the siblings tried to convince Kevin that he must continue while buzz watched in silence. Eventually Kevin taps into his hacker part finds it and activates it as it explodes throughout his entire mind and Kevin defeats the hacker after getting lost in the code. Then they come home the wet cyber bandits as it is in this timeline are defeated as well. Witch hacker Kevin in lost in new York is where Kevin makes his own credit card and it has the crypto currency he has so in this time line he isn't left behind in the home alone one but he is in lost in new York where he sets up his hotel room the crypto currency he uses for his money in his Bitcoin miner is run by a program for his gain to get things like food water etc. the wet cyber bandits known as the sticky cyber bandits are also not that great as kevin easily defeats them as soon as they try to launch their revenge cyber attack on a white hat hacker that got them in prison and kevin puts them back there again.
In end he packs his stuff up and goes all the way Florida easy for him he just networks into his mom's phone and sees where their at and buys a ticket to go there by airplane he arrives at the hotel his mom is at and finds the room there in and knocks as the mom answers and sends him to the room buzz is at Kevin however reminds her that buzz could be a jerk and explains the problem he has with him so instead he sleeps with 2 of his older sisters has his own bed there witch he sleeps in.
over all hacker kevin my take is a complex and a guy who strangly lern something that takes years to lern as quick as a moment somehow.
