I want to make this piece of software. I want this piece of software to be a good piece of software. As part of making it a good piece of software, i want it to be fast. As part of making it fast, i want to be able to paralellize what i can. As part of that paralellization, i want to use compute shaders. To use compute shaders, i need some interface to graphics processors. After determining that Vulkan is not an API that is meant to be used by anybody, i decided to use OpenGL instead. In order for using OpenGL to be useful, i need some way to show the results to the user and get input from the user. I can do this by means of the Wayland API. In order to bridge the gap between Wayland and OpenGL, i need to be able to create an OpenGL context where the default framebuffer is the same as the Wayland surface that i've set to be a window. I can do this by means of EGL. In order to use EGL to create an OpenGL context, i need to select a config for the context.
Unfortunately, it just so happens that on my Linux partition, the implementation of EGL does not support the config that i would need for this piece of software.
Therefore, i am going to write this piece of software for 9front instead, using my 9front partition.

I swear to fucking god. I would claw out OneDrive from my computer if I could. I would burn down their servers if I could. I would run down their stocks to the ground if I could. I hope every single one of their workers gets a better offer from a competitor in the next 24 hours. I hope every single one of their light bulbs explodes at the same time. I hope every single carton of milk in their fridge will always be expired.
Stop backing up my fucking files.
Stop asking me to back up my fucking files.
Stop taking my fucking files off my fucking computer.
I don't want a fucking reminder in three fucking days. Let me fucking say no.
Fuckers.

Microsoft Office, like many companies in recent months, has slyly turned on an “opt-out” feature that scrapes your Word and Excel documents to train its internal AI systems. This setting is turned on by default, and you have to manually uncheck a box in order to opt out.
If you are a writer who uses MS Word to write any proprietary content (blog posts, novels, or any work you intend to protect with copyright and/or sell), you’re going to want to turn this feature off immediately. How to Turn off Word’s AI Access To Your Content
I won’t beat around the bush. Microsoft Office doesn’t make it easy to opt out of this new AI privacy agreement, as the feature is hidden through a series of popup menus in your settings:On a Windows computer, follow these steps to turn off “Connected Experiences”:
File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options > Privacy Settings > Optional Connected Experiences > Uncheck box: “Turn on optional connected experiences”

I was exactly the right age at exactly the right transitional period in history to have been an unsupervised preteen on dial-up BBSes, Usenet, IRC, and first-generation web forums, more or less in that order, so all things considered I think I'm doing pretty well.

I’m not even an anti-internet person like I love the internet, I just get so frustrated with the passive way people have become accustomed to using it now. not actively seeking things out or engaging with communities, just turning their brain off & letting the algorithm feed them whatever it wants. & I can’t help but feel like that’s partially to blame for the current state of things (anti-“woke” backlash is easier to digest if you turn your brain off when online)

It's kind of funny how Teams users have been complaining for the better part of a decade that the minimum width of the dockable chat windows is too wide, and Microsoft has basically been telling them to get fucked, then they discontinue Skype and tell all of its former users to switch to Teams, and within 72 hours of Skype going down for good, Microsoft suddenly pushes a "critical" update for Teams that gives it more flexible dockable chat windows.
