Real talk. Does anyone actually use twitter anymore? I still have mine but I'm so inactive lol. Beyond the crazy site changes that were made when it transferred ownership, the general vibe felt a lot more argumentative to me. IDK if its the character limit destroying people's sense of nuanced takes or something but I don't get as much of that here or on insta. Combined with the algorithm suppression I just don't think it's worth having one anymore???? I'm not the most social media savvy so I figured I would ask.

I figured it out, you're the designated sitcom B plot character. Like that post about how the B plots are always stuff like "found $100 on the ground" and "a bird is very here"? That's you. You have fun escapades like "my favorite Chinese restaurant keeps sending me giant cups of sauce" and "I had to figure out where to buy a pig fetus" and "spent six hours getting a woodpecker out of my garage" that's sitcom B plot character shenanigans. Kudos honestly.

Oh my god you're right 😭 and I've had several "A bird is very here" situations somehow, actually??? There was the woodpecker in my garage in mid-june and I spent hours trying to get it to leave, there's the neighbor's chicken that gets loose, like, every morning in the summer somehow (I have chased this chicken down the street several times, and she was being a chatty girlie this morning), and there's been numerous injured birds I've caught for the local wildlife center (my mom and I used to be on-call for animal transports, but we stopped for H5N1).

I would like to preface this with. Nothing! I'm going to mitigate the need to close every loophole at the start of a post. I'm not a lawyer.

I think a lot about Zoraxis. I think a lot about- well, I think a lot about all of them, but I think a lot about the potential to interpret the Fabricator as someone who treats others as she is treated. Not as an intentional holier-than-thou sort of thing, as a subconscious reaction to the absolute situation that anyone working at Zoraxis (or that closely with Zor) is going to be in, whether they can recognize it or not. Like, I don't think she's normal or friendly or whatever without being at Zoraxis and I do think that Evil Engineering is something she would always do, but I do think that specific flaws are brought forward by being in such a dogshit work environment.

She's rude to everyone around her in ways I'd bet mirror ways that Zor talks to her, and I am going to be so honest I think she feels like it's... normal? She seems to have a lot of feedback from Zor that micromanages her designs or directs her to sand down the flare or work against her own instinct, which. Dead horse and whatnot (lie, but that is a whole other post) is how she talks to Juniper. But it also is a little bit how she talks about Solaris? At least, she can be pretty awful in criticism of her. Like, yes, the implication is very much that she and Solaris are a duo, they work well together, I like them together as much as you all do. But she can also come off as really shitty.

I do not think that this is because she just Hates Solaris or something, writing off how she snaps at people as her just Hating Everyone is kind of a disservice, as much as saying that it's entirely Zor's fault would be a disservice. I just think she is the sort of person even on a base level without the horrible workplace conditions to a little bit project on others, and being worn thin and micromanaged by ole Dr Manipulator over there is just amplifying that specific character trait a thousandfold.

I think she likes Solaris a lot (in my personal headcanon, she likes her a lot a lot), but since they're close, Solaris ends up getting a lot of that lashing out, in ways that I do not think the Fabricator has the presence of mind or the real estate to examine on a social or emotional level, given the lack of sleep and constant nightmarish workload.

Something to be said about, if you approach her from that angle, the willingness to treat Prism as a disposable pawn might a little bit be something she does not want to look at in the mirror, because I do think she's been slow boiled to not notice how badly Zor treats her.
