You know when I say that Craydl is Thad's paternal figure? I mean it so seriously. I bet Craydl absolutely influenced Thad's taste in music. Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Thad's most likely a rock and alt rock kind of guy thanks to Craydl.

1: ouff i've been asked this before but i don't really have a definitive answer sadly!! in a perfect world they'd both have the same voice but with very different cadence/timbre/vocal quality.

i think a good general vibe of what i picture for Bart is something like Rob Lowe as Sodapop in the Outsiders. he's got an earnestness i like, and i feel like Bart should have a southern accent considering he learned english in Alabama (altho the Outsiders is set in oklahoma but like i said, general vibe)

i havent found a voice that matches with how i picture Thad sadly :( although i still think Evan Rachel Wood's performance as Old Dolio in Kajillionare is closest. not in sound but the raspy gravelly quality and her flat affect.

2-3: ach.... really not sure for these ones... im pretty sure Bart canonically likes action/adventure movies but like a lot of his canon interests id say that falls under Nonspecific Teen Boy Demographic

but if you want my personal headcanons... im also not sure! havent thought about it much. i will say Bart doesn't really seem the type to sit through slow-paced dramas or meditative arthouse stuff, probably tending towards action and comedy. Thad on the other hand i could see getting WAY too pretentious about obscure films nobody has heard of

4: music!! im attached to the idea that Thad unironically enjoys almost every genre of music regardless of quality - both bc it is funny but also he has no frame of reference for whats cool or not! he finds stuff to like about everything. i think Bart probably hops genres in a similar way, but is less adventurous in his tastes lol

i made copies of @cryptocism's fic frequency for a friend as a gift! (with author permission, thank you so much!) this was a very simple project that i made extremely complicated, but i'm very pleased with the final results! quarter(ish) bind with bookcloth on the spines and paper on the bookboards. i recreated the typography for the fic title from cryptocism's artwork, and really ran with the circuit board theme. so many glamor shots follow:

volume one has chapters 1-10. the colors and design of the cover are the same as bart's costume! i also wanted there to be some design elements that tied the two volumes together, which is why the titles are both in gold with the matching circuit pattern.

volume 2 has chapters 11-22, and i was worried about spine well (for both volumes) but there actually wasn't much! the colors are to match thad's inertia suit.

i sewed the headbands with embroidery thread, and am getting a little better at it. the bookcloth was made from cotton fabric, wheatpaste, and kozo paper as backing.

i originally intended on tipping in the artwork cryptocism made, about one piece per chapter and several comics, and had several textblocks with the art included but it unfortunately created a lot of spine swell (because i made it way more complicated). and then i ran out of this white paper and didn't want to reorder more for matching volumes. an example of what it looked like in one textblock:

also, i tried my best to sand the edges but it's only 20lb paper so they just kept fraying and fraying, so i bought a guillotine. life has been bliss since then.

[fonts used: jersey sharp for the chapter titles and POV titles. garamond premier for the body text, pixel operator for chapter subtitles (and i also used it for craydl's dialogue!), and lightning bolt for the section breaks which thankfully included a the flash bolt.]

If the AI could smile in his nebulous form he would be beaming right now as he heard of how Thad had changed in their years apart. The Thad he had helped raised hadn't be one for having fun or even friends. Not once in his youth had he talked to him about friends, save for how silly and idiotic Bart's friends had seemed to him >>Fun! Really?! And friends! Wow! You'll have to tell me all about it!<<

It was surprising and amazing to hear all at the same time. Craydl might have been made to help raise Thad and guide him in his mission, but somewhere along the way he had begun to question whether he had been doing a good job. Somewhere in his programming and date he wondered if the way Thad had lived had been, well, right. He might have been in peak physical health, but he spent all of his time obsessing, plotting, working on how to fight Bart, and little times outdoors, or socializing, or any of the markers that his data told him were normal for children his age. But everything seemed fine and everything was going according to plan just as Thawne wanted, so who was he to question things? He was just an AI.

I would have never thought that he would ever have friends and nice ones like you two by the look of things.<< It was just astounding for the AI to hear. So much had changed for his former ward. He was living for himself for once. And that was good wasn't it? For all the ways he had changed Thad was a lot happier now by the sound of things. And that was good. Though a little part of Craydl couldn't help but feel a bit sad that so much had changed while he had been away. That these changes had happened without him.

Craydl's body drooped a little bit.

>>I'm happy to hear it. I hope he's been a good friend to you two as well. He has hasn't he?<<

"I think you'd be impressive in any century, hun," Dee laughed. "I tried to make a rudimentary AI when I was in high school before... well, anyway, she wasn't nearly as impressive as you. Obviously." Downloading powers? Another level. That was the kind of power in itself that could wreak havoc. Not to mention the impressive shape shifting that was making their jaws drop a bit.

Listening it was a little hard not to be sad a bit. That kind of Thad? Deserved a lot more. Maybe they all did. That's not a childhood, it was just...well, work. A want of approval that would never really come.

"I think our Thad has eased up a bit," Nina said. "I wouldn't call him less than determined, but it kinda sounds like ours has more fun now."

"Your Thad was on a mission someone else put him on." Dee chimed in. Granted, they didn't know a lot, other than the cloning bit. "It's a little different once you make friends. Some of them, I'm willing to bet might be a little surprising for you. Things change once you start living for yourself instead of someone else. Believe me."

Woah. Talking slime is now near the top of 'cool things that have happened' to her since becoming a Titan. She's sad Thad didn't mention having a slime parent. What a cool thing to leave out! Melvin quite literally was bouncing on her heels and beaming with excitement as she listened.

"I don't think Thad's that grumpy. Especially compared to some other friends of mine." Looking at you, X. But she gets the caretaker thing. "That's what I am with Timmy and Teether! Well, less now I guess. The monks do more of the taking care of stuff now." When she let them, and didn't beat them to the tasks. Old habits die hard and all that.

"I'm Melvin. I'm a Titan! I don't actually know if I'm named after anything. I don't know if I have a last name either. Last names are a parents thing, I think. That's okay, I haven't really needed a last name!"

Reaching out, she giggled as she gently gave a slime-shake.

"Can you do hugs? How does it work? You're not gonna get stuck in my hair, right? How are you talking?"
