Hi, is there any kind of list of articles on the wiki that need proofreading? I’ve been touching up a few if I come across typos while I’m just using the wiki but I’d love to be able to help some more (and proofreading is the only way I have time for). Thanks!
Hi! Unfortunately, there's not a great list of things that just need proofreading. The Articles needing cleanup category is about the closest we have, but that includes everything from "this needs a spelling/grammar pass through" to "this needs extensive review for accuracy". You can definitely take a look there though - most editors who tag something for cleanup mention the nature of said cleanup so you can skip past anything that is more complex.
I know you're asking about typos/proofreading so this is a little off-topic, but in terms of needed wiki help that's a quick win and that I've been thinking of doing a push for, citations are a big one! With the transcript search available it's often not too hard to make a big difference in a small amount of time, and we do have a list of those.
don't know if this is the right place to ask, but is it possible to add transcripts on the midst page in the wiki similar to how it's done for cr proper?
Transcripts are available on the official Midst website. You'll need a subscription to access transcripts for episodes still in early access, but episodes that have been released publicly have their transcripts accessible for free: you can find transcripts for episode one and episode two on the official website already.
Because of this, the wiki will not be creating transcript pages for each episode of Midst the way we do for Critical Role. We will be adding links to each transcript at midst.co to our episode list.
While on the topic, you can also access the episode transcripts on YouTube using its native transcript feature: click "show transcript" listed in three-dots menu next to share. You can toggle timestamps using the menu under the three dots in the transcript window.
This transcript on YouTube is the official transcript, and generally except for superficial differences in line-breaking, it is identical to the ones located on the website.
I finally finished the page I was working on since November for the Critical Role wiki on Miraheze, @encyclopediacr!
Here it is, the Quest for Vestiges!
Much like my previous big page, the Chroma Crisis, which documented and summarized Vox Machina's quest and journey across Exandria to kill the Chroma Conclave and gather allies for the fight, this page documents Vox Machina's concurrent quest to collect the Vestiges of Divergence!
Now, you can read a (relatively) quick summary in one page covering the events that took place over dozens of episodes!
Feel free not to answer, but I was wondering if you might know the best way to keep up with lore without needing to watch the campaign. I've tried very hard to keep up with campaign 3, but I've come to a point where I can't deal with Bells Hells as an adventuring group anymore. I've given them more than a chance and have come to the conclusion several times over that I don't like the group even if I may like individual characters. I do, however, love the lore built for this camping and how it ties into the rest of the world. I don't want to miss interesting worldbuilding simply because I can't continue dealing with the party discovering said lore.
Hi anon,
I would first like to of course plug the wiki! If there's specific lore, you can just go to the page of the thing that interests you (eg: Ruidus) and see how we've updated it. Obviously, as wiki editors, we are only human, but this is, to be honest, probably the best way to get specific lore.
I am assuming you don't care to watch Bells Hells for 4-5 hours a week but do not mind getting some details, in which case I'd also like to recommend Dani's recaps. She is the lorekeeper; it is her job, and so while this is going to cover the narrative more so than every piece of lore you will get the major information. You can always refer to the transcripts as well.
Quick note for other people: If you have recommendations, I would advise you make your own post but I do want to personally advise against any personally made highlight reels on YouTube or similar. Those are generally made for the enjoyment of the person creating them and are not intended to be an accurate reflection of the episode in question. Nor should they be: they're people having fun making supercuts and should not be used as a substitute for watching the episode because unlike an official summary, transcript, or (if I say so myself) well-run wiki, they have no reason to avoid personal bias.
