you would think that because i have read and am following heaven official's blessing that i would naturally pick up the other mxtx books and ships as well

however

after finishing vol 6 of tgcf

and ripping off all my nails

peeling off all the skin around them

digging holes into my face

and fucking sobbing

and wanting desperately to stab a dagger through my chest just to BURST the pressure in my ACHING AND DEVASTATED HEART ---

i will decidedly NOT be risking putting myself through this again.

if i have to read another hundred swords-esque chapter... i might actually kms

i cannot - i WILL not be doing this ever again

i dont think that xie lian calling feng xin and mu qing "precious jades" means that he thought of them exactly like property or anything but they were his bodyguard and his servant and i think that relationship was reflected in that line. he valued them in a lot of ways, both as friends and as two people who were close to him very skilled and well-trained. and i also think that the precious jades line is sweet like awww youre 15 and you think your two best friends are the most special people in the world <3 and youre right

XIE LIAN: has had at least one femme moment but idk about camp or queen and only a little pussy but pretty cunt cunt and slay overall. half credit for being the flower crowned martial god and half off for being a trash god of scraps 5/10

HUA CHENG: femme (known to take the form of a sexy evil woman) ✅️ camp (mayor of ghost city) ✅️ queen (mayor of ghost city) ✅️ pussy cunt cunt (youve read the book) ✅️ slay (c'mon) ✅️ overall 100000/10

MU QING: he is not femme he is vain and insecure he is not camp he is actually very self conscious he is not queen but well maybe a little queen and very pussy cunt cunt slay. 8/10

mulian is sooooo complicated like god.... platonic or romantic whatever the case its just tragic how mu qing thought xie lian was too good for him like how could they ever actually be friends BUT at the same time he also didnt think the gap between them was fair or fitting of their actual skills and xie lian occupied this very specific place in society that mu qing was always so far away from no matter how hard he worked (as mortals) and yet even though mu qing KNEW that he wasnt actually that far below xie lian he still didnt think any of that or their entire relationship meant they could be friends.... AND despite all that he still in awe of xie lian the whole time he thought xie lian was amazing.....

10. lio fotia (promare)

look at him! squishy! i love him!

9. neiru aonuma (wonder egg priority)

i really cant explain this one. she's my favourite out of the main four and its not about being relatable (ai and rika are more like me) but just. neiru's vibes are immaculate that's all i have to say

8. nie huaisang (mo dao zu shi)

my fav mdzs character!! (the other favs are jiang yanli, jiang cheng, and jin ling. i love pain.) i thought the way he's written was just genius i never saw what would happen coming. he's also just really silly and funny and i luv him <3

7. howl (howl's moving castle)

my first anime crush!! he'll always have a special spot in my heart. i think book howl is a lot more flawed and interesting (and welsh like me) but i love anime howl too. he's so pathetic.

6. count d (petshop of horrors)

his whole character is fascinating. he's pretty too. i've also had a crush on him since i was pretty young (first read the series when i was FAR too young for it lol). i wish he and leon could reunite one day but thats the shipper in me speaking lol

5. kyouka izumi (bungou stray dogs)

it took me a while to decide who my favourite bsd character is but i eventually landed on her. it's not a super deep reason or anything i just think her cold but gentle personality is nice. she's also my favourite to draw!

4. xie lian (tian guan ci fu)

I HAVENT FINISHED TGCF YET but for him to be placed so high up is quite a feat i think. again his gentle and sweet personality is what draws me to him. there's something going on with him that i dont know about yet and that keeps me interested. he's also so goofy :)

3. noe archiviste (vanitas no carte)

this boy. he's perfect. an excellent specimen. words cannot describe my love for him. moving on.

2. sangonomiya kokomi (genshin impact)

she literally defines me. the second i saw her i knew i would love her forever. she's my beloved.

answered here somewhat! though i'd like to add that up until last year i had hit an awful slump on reading that lasted YEARS, to the point that i sorta. believed i couldn't see myself picking up another fiction book anymore. that's why, insanely, the novel was the last mdzs media i consumed after eating up all the adaptations in an unhealthy pace, and BRO... I READ IT SO FAAAST.... and after that i read scum villain?? and jwqs??? and i'm already 2 volumes into tgcf???? and also all the insane amount of fanfiction i've been reading which i've literally NEVER done before, ever, for ANY fandom. god.... thank u modaozushi for dragging me from my reading slump and teaching me how to enjoy fiction literature again

IM SO BAD AT THIS. i mentioned before that "unpopular opinion" highly depends on what bubble of fandom you're in, and i'm in this weird spot where i have mutuals who are... kinda from each and every part of them? i guess my biggest one fandom-wide would be "wangxian and sizhui are not a nuclear family" and i get pretty annoyed when fics erase a-yuan's wen ancestry or make him wx's biological son, but like... that's thankfully not an unpopular opinion in my fandom circle, so sjkdfhjkf I DONT KNOW,,
