It's great to see that there are out-right Over the Garden Wall quotes on the Kickstarter page for The Crooked Moon. (They actually quote The Beast's song "Come Wayward souls.")
Kind of funny that Jason Nesbitt person insisted the only thing they had in common was the use of Americana.
Weird that he'd haunt an Over the Garden Wall Facebook group while pretending that Crooked Moon has content from European folklore but Over the Garden Wall Does not. I guess he missed the Faust and Divine Comedy references among other things.
Though he did completely ignore it when I pointed out that they directly quoted the opening narration of Over The Garden Wall with just five words changed.
He seems like the sort of person who would try to insist Adam's Wrath has nothing to do with Frankenstein.
The only thing that bothers me still is that he created this narrative that said something ableist to him and then deleted it for my rebuttal which you can find on my Facebook wall.
1. I don't completely delete replies, I edit to expand on what I'm saying or fix types.
2. How could I have even known he had a disability to be ableist toward him?
3. If you're going to accuse someone of ableism you should PROBABLY make sure they aren't visually impaired first. I'm considered legally blind, though I do see. It's just really poor eyesight.

OMG, it's #GoblinWeek! I love Goblin Week. Unfortunately I'm cramming on some art for RiffTrax and don't have time for one today. Maybe I'll do mine a week late? Here's a few from 2017 that I think are still a few of my favs. #DungeonsAndDragons #DandD #dndart #goblin #goblins

Mythica - A low-budget spectacle
I have three tabletop interviews in the pipeline, both on my podcast and via print interview on here. With that, I figured I would like to highlight a little-known series called Mythica. I don’t remember exactly how I came across Mythica, but it was during a time when I was writing a campaign for a group I was playing with at the time. I don’t know if I googled inspiration or D&D vibes or…

22 on the Moon Card AMAZED
"Honestly, pulling together 6 separate story leads based off random roll that literally flipped the board. I'm impressed by myself. Have you guys chosen you vamp abilities yet???" So the party pulled the Moon Card and moved themselves from the bottom of the Big-Bad list to the top. One of them is in charge of it all. The others have their hands in other Darker Parts of the Original Big-Bads evils doing which I had hoped they would not stumble on, because of the darkdealings. So I'll hide them all inside of a blood stained book, written entries by one of them that is now dead. We shall seeing what bait they take, they're on their way to Waterdeep to meet with the Lord. "Hunched caped figured approach the tattered deck of the lower ports near Deadends Alley, a fortuitous landmark that leads to ill-adventurers deaths more easily than moths to candle lights. The figures three, are quiet. The vibration of life nearly ends when they approach the watery path. And then one of the them takes a long old lit curved lantern from its tethered stacked cloaks, giving to detail on their origin or blood. The larger ship, Bullet, drops a riveted metal plank upon the deck, it shrinks down closer to the murky waters."

#pungeonsanddragons • Bad puns of Dungeons & Dragons monsters: 051625 Invisible Stalker • Invisible stalkers, as their name suggests, are beings that can only be perceived as shimmering masses of air across various planes. Often summoned by mages for specific tasks, they harbor deep resentment toward these assignments. If a task takes longer than a week to complete, they begin to distort the essence of the command and search for loopholes, making careful wording essential.
• You may remember this monster from before. I need to replenish many of the sold originals with new puns and gags for Tabletop Oahu Con in a few weeks.
•Keep smiling and stay safe, everyone! 🙂

So... There's apparently an Over The Garden Wall Dungeons and Dragons campaign now!??
So I just found out there's a Dungeons and Dragons campaign based on Over the Garden Wall.
It's not called Over the Garden Wall but that's what it is. The way "I, Strahd" is Dracula and "Adam's Wrath" is Frankenstein's Creature, Crooked Moon is Over the Garden Wall.
There was a Kickstarter campaign for it in October but I only saw the sponsored ad for it for the first time on Facebook late this afternoon.
Even the introduction is just the intro for Over the Garden Wall reworded. A promo video for it had this as the voice-over description. "Somewhere lost in the shrouded realms of death lies a realm of endless night where long forgotten horrors are revealed to those who travel through the mist." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uEj1WrSHao
youtube
Sound familiar? Well, here's the first narration from Over the Garden Wall. "Somewhere, Lost in the clouded annals of history, Lies a place called The Unknown. Where long forgotten stories are revealed to those who travel through the wood."
___________________ It's not even subtle. It also has the maypole with the Jack-o-lantern head like the one in episode 2 of Over the Garden Wall, Hard Times at the Huskin' Bee. The concept art features a werewolf-like beast similar to the transformed dog from the first episode of Over The Garden Wall. It even has the same, old, black steam engine train like the one that was such an important plot device in Over the Garden Wall. The antagonist is even referred to as The Beast and has horns or antlers. And seems to (again) be a cross between The Erlking and a Windigo.
It's so blatantly an Over the Garden Wall Dungeons and Dragons campaign that they even got The Blasting Company (who did the Over The Garden Wall soundtrack) to write the song "The Crooked Moon" used in the advertising. Pretty much the only difference is this realm is eternal night where The Unknown in Over the Garden Wall still had daytime. I'm not mad. Just very, very amused and intrigued. Am I the only one who noticed this is Dungeons and Dragons does Over the Garden Wall?!
