it would be hard for someone not to fall in love with daniel, considering he treated every person he came across with the most respect and affection he could. but there was nothing you could do about it, until he was single again.

you’d read something about it on twitter: “girlfriend of australian f1 driver caught in the arms of another man.” you hated that it made you happier than it made you sad. sad for danny, of course — but maybe you had a chance now. maybe, just maybe, you could make him see.

“hey,” you greeted him quietly, next time you saw him. it was about a week and a half after the breakup, and he looked surprisingly okay. “i’m… sorry. about what went down.”

danny shook his head, shooting you that warm smile that always made your heart flutter. “don’t worry about it. it was for the better.”

you nod, hope bubbling in your chest. was it too soon to go for it now? but what if you lost your opportunity again?

daniel breathes out a laugh, flattery shining in his eyes. his hand rests on your shoulder, a typical move for him, but it has your stomach twisting in knots. “you know, that would be nice.”

stopping yourself from smiling too wide, your eyes shine up at him. he’s looking back at you like you’re the only person in the room, and you swear there and then you could melt into the floor under you.

“dinner with a friend is just what i need. i’m swearing off dates for the foreseeable future, but we always have fun together, right?”

“right,” you mutter, cheeks burning with your own embarrassment. a chance taken, a chance burned in your own hand.

Love this new episode of Thousandaires. Erika is always a pleasure. Sephie’s idea was a really cool group activity. Of course Becca’s was nerdy and horny. I never know what to expect from Amy but cute to have her friend’s favourite candies. And Danielle getting to wrestle was really great.
