not that it matters but I’m still sitting here wondering why Farscape didn’t just reuse the Alex character from Rhapsody In Blue for Terra Firma in season 4. It feels like that should have been the character, not Caroline, and did they decide to invent a new girlfriend because they couldn’t get the same actress from season 1...? Because honestly they could have recast Alex and I wouldn’t have known the difference, I literally thought it was the same character despite having a different name.
So I look at the wiki and they have this mindfuck for me:
Both Alex and Lorana were portrayed by Darlene Vogel. Owing to the nature of the episode, which establishes that the Alex seen in Crichton's dream at the beginning of the episode was sparked by the Delvians, it isn't known for certain whether Alex actually looked as she appeared in the episode, or if her physical similarity to Lorana is a result of Lorana's interference with John's memories. A case can also be made as to whether Alex ever actually existed, or was created from scratch by the Delvians. Potential evidence could be found in the Season 4 episode "Terra Firma", which establishes that at the time of his fateful flight, and for several years prior, Crichton had a different girlfriend named Caroline Wallace who bears some physical similarities to Alex.

okay so, since Highlander is my main special interest of the moment, most of my thoughts/daydreams have been about that movie and one of, okay the main way I tend to engage in fandom is by making OCs, and shipping those OCs with canons, because that’s who I am.
when choosing an actor/actress to portray that character in my head, it’s important for me to be able to visualize them in the setting of whichever media the OC is made for, and it’s also important for me to feel a click between my original character and the canon I’m shipping them with. this can be a little hard, and it was in this case; my first choice was Gabrielle Hersh (Chloe’s actress), because, again, I’m big into OC x Canon ships and though she’s not technically an OC, I kinda view her as such, at least with my headcanons for her (i.e. she prefers the name Celandine to Chloe — because she is her own person, not a copy, not one of many) and my main ship in the DBH fandom, aside from Hannor, is her and Hank, so my mind immediately went, “hey, what about her?”
but for some reason, I think because she wasn’t around during that time, so it’s harder for me to visualize in that older setting because I associate her with modern times. so I was a bit stumped with that for a bit, until I was watching a video and this actress (Darlene Vogel) caught my eye:

and my mind went, “yep that’s her, that’s totally her.” my initial idea for the character wasn’t even an Immortal but fuck it, she looks badass with a sword so okay, here’s Saxia, warrior queen of my heart.
when I do finally settle on an actor/actress for the OC, I tend to re-use them if I make other OC x Canon ships for other shows/movies/etc. that the actor/actress of the canon character are in if I get interested in that too.
anyway tl;dr, meet Cole’s mama:
Tumblr media
I don’t have much information for her yet, except that she was also a cop (retired when she became pregnant), she and Hank divorced when Cole was around 2, has had a few relationships since then but none have lasted very long, and I’m leaning towards the name Lorraine for her, but it can take me a long time to find a name I really like so that’s up in the air.
