Inadvisable Video Game Concept #137: hybrid metroidvania/dating sim where both the platforming routes and the romance routes are ability-gated, and abilities that are used in one context can be obtained in the other – i.e., progression on romance routes can grant platforming abilities, and solving ability-gated platforming puzzles may be necessary to acquire traits which unlock romance routes. Completing the game requires you to complete at least one romance route (which one is more or less arbitrary), so speedrunning involves routing both your platforming and your romances, while 100% completion is only possible on the harem route (which naturally has incomprehensibly obtuse requirements).
