Debating Skills in the 21st Century
Tumblr media
Improves critical thinking skills
Debating is an essential skill that can help children thrive in the 21st century. In an age where communication skills and critical thinking are becoming increasingly important, debating can provide children with the tools they need to succeed. In this blog post, we will explore the benefits of debating and how it can help children thrive in the 21st century.
Debating requires children to analyze complex arguments and think critically about the evidence presented. By doing so, children can develop their analytical skills and learn to evaluate information more effectively. Critical thinking is an essential skill in the 21st century, as it is necessary for success in many fields, including business, law, and medicine.
2.Enhances communication skills
Debating is an excellent way for children to develop their communication skills. During debates, children must present their arguments clearly and persuasively, which requires them to articulate their thoughts and ideas effectively. By doing so, children can develop their public speaking skills, which are essential in many professions, including politics, law, and journalism.
3.Increases confidence
Debating can help children build their confidence and self-esteem. By participating in debates, children are forced to step outside of their comfort zone and take on new challenges. As they gain experience, they will become more confident in their abilities, which can help them succeed in other areas of their life.
4.Encourages teamwork
Debating is often done in teams, which encourages children to work together towards a common goal. By doing so, they can learn how to collaborate effectively and appreciate the benefits of teamwork. These skills are essential in the 21st century, as many jobs require employees to work in teams to achieve their goals.
5.Promotes research skills
Debating requires children to research and analyze information from a variety of sources. By doing so, they can develop their research skills and learn how to find reliable information to support their arguments. These skills are essential in the 21st century, as information is readily available online, and it is essential to be able to distinguish between reliable and unreliable sources.
6.Helps children learn to handle conflict
Debating can help children learn how to handle conflict effectively. During debates, children are often exposed to opposing views and must learn how to respond calmly and respectfully. By doing so, they can develop their conflict resolution skills, which are essential in the 21st century, as conflicts are increasingly prevalent in many areas of life.
In conclusion, debating is an essential skill that can help children thrive in the 21st century. By improving critical thinking skills, enhancing communication skills, increasing confidence, encouraging teamwork, promoting research skills, and helping children learn to handle conflict, debating can provide children with the tools they need to succeed in many areas of life. As such, it is essential to encourage children to participate in debates and develop these skills from a young age.
Our newly launched program Debate-O-Pedia is a must-try program for every child from age 9-14 years to learn the basic to intermediate skills required to debate, negotiate, and reason.

🤍 Lorelei 🤍
Another example piece for my Vgen page! Lorelei has such a light palette that trying to apply tones to her in this kind of manga style is a bit of a unique challenge for me lol ✨🪶

I rushed these earlier this year to print some stickers in answer to a clown that was running for president in my country.
[ID: two digital drawings with the motto "Protect trans kids", both colored with colors from the trans flag. The first one is a hyena turning their head and growling, below them, a hyena pup lies huddled down. The second one has a stag jumping over two fawns, one mainly pink and the other one mainly blue, the stag has lowered their head and points their antlers forward in a defensive pose. End ID]

[Hi Dennis. How was the lion feeding?...?]
This has been something I've been working on for quite a while now, as some people who look at my insta story might know, but I'm finally done!! those text messages from s14ep5 are so unhinged, they haunt me every goddamn day. To drop "i love you so much" just to follow it with what essentially is a "no homo.. for u... even tho u r so hot and i like you so much!". exploading them with my mind into a million pieces, okay?

i know Erik is always on his usual anti-human bullshit as usual, but has anyone ever sat him down and been like "a mutant killed your powerless human mother. Maybe you're fighting the wrong side, dear"
Like, in first class his whole beef is with Shaw, the mutant. And yet he's arguing every minute with Charles about humans being awful.

the lovers, reversed
(aka I'm still freaking out about Jou)
#art#ride kamens#i am about to go off on wild speculation so excuse me in advance#I HAVEN'T PLAYED THE EVENT YET so this could all be just absolutely nothing but i gotta get it out#(still debating if i wanna save the event for after i finish part 2 or not...)#this is my last chance to throw wacky theories out there okay#i've just. been thinking a lot about the riders the characters are based on and how they relate to their different classes#like the choices seemed SO random when they were first revealed but they do mostly make sense when you think about it#to the point where i actually do feel like i should've been able to call ooo for ambition. damnit.#however i did always feel like jou was a bit of an outlier and now i'm wondering if that's gonna be like...a thing#idk man just the fact that he's gonna have a special double card and bond henshin with taiten is nuts to me#especially since we're clearly on the verge of SOMETHING happening with soun and uryuu#what does it mean. WHAT DOES IT MEAN#what does this mean for the future of tower emblem#and it hasn't escaped me that there is no class associated with evolution (YET)#and thinking about who jou is based on i'm just like#(waves hands) YOU KNOW?!#(plus i'm still like WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR RUI AND HAYATE but that's a separate thing)#i'm gonna try and take my time and not rush through part 2 but i also am SO impatient#i gotta knooooow#given the way my predictions tend to go though i'm either 100% accidentally right about the dumbest thing#or jou is fine but leon fucking dies or something and i'm gonna throw my phone into a lake#HAVE FUN GUYS I GUESS

Silmarillion Fandom Terminology Quiz
So, I'm doing a project for linguistics class and I'm studying fandom terminology in the Silmarillion fandom and whether or not demographics make a difference. The only demographics are age category, gender, continent, language background, and fandom background, after which you get into more fun questions, including but not limited to...
What is a Blorbo?
The Thorn Debate
What is "Accidental Baby Acquisition"?
Who is Crablor
What is a "PWP"
The quiz has three sections: Demographics, General Fandom Terms, and Silmarillion Specific Terms. Have fun with it, share it with your Silm friends!
Edit: Will close November 15th so I have time to process the results before presenting them.
Edit edit: Due to the sheer number of responses (I may have forgotten how... academically inclined this fandom is lol) I will be closing the survey on November 1st. Thank you all for your lovely contributions so far! I think I saw Fëanor called a "bitch-ass prescriptivist" and I think my professor will get a kick out of that 🤣

the first time they did a race Erik thought he would obviously win because Charles is just an academic. he probably spends more time in a library studying than outside, right?
but then Charles instantly outruns Erik because he was on his school’s track team 😭
they just do casual jogs together now

any number of people but remember you can only get so many hands on the boar at a time. consider both strength and ability to not be impeded by the boar's movements. feel free to factor in the potential effects of a bacchic frenzy/being really really drunk.
