This is asking about credit cards, not debit cards. Answer only for payment methods that use YOUR money, not a parent's or partner's bank account.
To clarify: a credit card, in the US at least, allows you to spend money that you may not currently actually have, meaning you take that purchase on as debt and pay it back to the bank later. With a debit card, you can only use money that you actually possess.

I will make one speculative comment: I don't think X is broke. I think that scene with the coin is a commentary or parallel between social monetary control and the trust system.

Your purchases are witnessed and judged by other people.#And your money is never actually in your physical hands. You never really touch the tangible assets.#There is a safety-to-trust trade off. Just like with the trust credit system and superheroes#(Either way. No matter how much money you actually have -- you only get to spend it when others let you.)#(Because... money is fake? It only counts when everyone decides it does. So his credit wouldn't work. somehow applying for a credit card for the first time at 30 is a very scary process to me lmao
#technically i do have a credit card but it's a visa debit card that immediately charges my account#(and unfortunately the conditions for using it in a foreign country/with foreign currencies aren't great so i wanted one for our vacation#that has no foreign currency charges and no extra cost for getting money from ATMs outside of germany)

selfshippers, if your f/o is based in reality, i have a question. have you ever considered, like really considered, their financial habits? i can understand never considering them, especially considering selfshipping is a comforting escape from the stresses of reality for many of us, but i just out of nowhere started thinking about the way joe dirt manages his money last night for the first time ever and i just have so many questions.
like, for example, does your f/o have any bank accounts? if they do, do they have a savings account open or do they just throw everything into checking? or do they hate dealing with banks and just keep all their money in their sock drawer or in an empty cookie jar on the top shelf in the kitchen? what’s their credit score like? do they have any lines of credit open? do they have any debt? what are their budgeting skills like? i feel like i’ve accidentally unlocked a whole new layer of realistic headcanons to explore because i realized in the middle of the night that i married a man with no credit score 😭.

A friend is trying very hard to convince me to start donating plasma (he gets a referral bonus if he signs someone up) and ngl the idea of using it to pay for less important things like books and art commissions is appealing if only for the fact that I get to say "Yeah I'm paying for this with blood money"

ya’ll i just started collecting ateez pc around 3/4 months ago and… i have a problem. Also, i already have Mingi and Hongjoongs bow..
And i have wooyoungs on the way since my lovely husband bought it for me 🥹
I also found their first album in storage 🥹😭 I know now how rare and expensive it is. ( regretting selling MINGIS pc when i did. ) im literally punching my old self in the face.
