"Violence only leads to more violence" TRUE! The thing is tho, a lot of people in power seem to think the start of the violence was the CEO getting shot, but they're wrong. The start of the violence was that very CEO running a company that turns immense, endless human suffering into money.

Violence did lead to more violence, decades of needless death and suffering willfully enacted by millionaires so they can make just a little bit more money, that was the start of the violence. If they didn't want it to escalate eventually, they should have maybe not made killing people the core functionality their entire company hinges on.

The people being tortured and killed by the health insurance industry are not the ones who started the violence, and tbh I don't really think it's on them to end the violence, either.

Shen Yuan is two things:

1) chronically ill

2) rich rich

He couldn’t count on both hands the number of health scares he’s had, but he fought years to move out of his parents house and live independently!

…. Until he was found half dead by his sister and nearly died in the hospital. No one even knew until she showed up.

The smart thing- the thing his parents want- would be to sell his apartment and move back in so his family can watch him. But frankly, Shen Yuan was reaching the end of his 20s. He didn’t want to be 30 in his parents home being scolded for buying yet another anime figurine and fussed over all hours of the day by nannies.

So, like the adults they were, they compromised. Shen Yuan could live independently IF he put together a complete staff of live in specialists to help him. He had a few months to do so, and all had to be thoroughly background checked.

Which is how he ended up with an old estate filled with specialists who all bore striking resemblances to the cast of Proud Immortal Demon Way.

(SY endears himself over the course of months to the entire modern cast of svsss and collects them to live with him and be generously financially supported. Additionally he finally tracks down the hack author of PIDW and keeps him as well, taking away the financial strain so PIDW can achieve its true potential as art.)

Call me old fashioned but I don't much like the idea/fanon/concept of the Doctors "real" name being anything except the Doctor/Doctor Who. As I understand it, a renegade time lord takes a weird pretentious title as a name as a way of symbolically separating themselves from Gallifrey and therefore abandoning their birth name or any name their fellows would have known them by (in other words. The transgenderism of it all). Maybe the Doctors birth name is something we are or aren't meant to know about but it doesn't matter because. That's their deadname and it doesn't make any real difference.

stobotnik angst au where stone finds the blueprints for sage when he’s saving every last vestige of robotnik he could possibly have.

they were made in moments of “weakness”, where robotnik couldn’t help but yearn for a family; when the emotions he pushes down so far welled up. she’s an ai, yes, but she’s a young girl; she looks like a daughter.

and for some reason robotnik couldn’t (let himself) understand, he could never imagine these blueprints, this child, this family without stone by his side. he hid the proof of these disgustingly human moments deeper than anything else he’d ever created- but he can’t bring himself to scrap them. he tells himself it’s because anything he’d ever come up with is a stroke of genius. (it’s true, of course- but it isn’t the whole truth).

and what of stone when he finds these? we learn in the third movie that he was unsure robotnik saw him as even a friend- and then, within the course of a day, he’s essentially broken up with and told to fuck off for forever, then watches robotnik livestream the fact that actually, he does care about stone to the entire world, and then watches helplessly when robotnik immediately fucking explodes. stone is already in emotional turmoil. and now what? he finds what are essentially plans for him and robotnik to have a kid together? live a life together that stone never dared to let himself imagine? i think that’d break anyone. (stone isn’t just anyone, though; he simply has to live with this. he has a plan to enact.)

of course, stone also found the blueprints for metal sonic. now those? those, he can make. those he can use to defeat sonic. those he can use to retrieve the master emerald. those he can use to bring his doctor back.

those don’t make him feel gutted. those don’t depict him and robotnik as fathers. those don’t make him agonize over what the hell that all could mean.

those don’t make him wish for a family, too.
