Page 17. We see that Donnie is just laughing at the joke now. It might be because it’s right after Leo sobbing for a while and then he just pulls that joke out of nowhere, or the fact that Donnie is exhausted. Or maybe, Donnie just really missed his stupid jokes

But it relaxes Donnie out of whatever caffeine or adrenaline high he’s been in for so long, and he passes out on Leo. Literally laughs himself to sleep.

However for Leo, this was probably really worrying. Because Donnie was active and talking to him and suddenly he’s passed out. (Also is it just me or does it look like Leo’s stump is sorta holding Donnie’s head up?)

In Page 18, Leo gently lays Donnie down on the bed he had woken up from. Staring at Donnie the whole way through with a sort of attentiveness to any sort of discomfort/pain.

He’d probably noticed the eyebags under Donnies eyes too.

In the second panel, Leo’s worry shows through again and seems to need to take a breath before checking Donnie’s pulse in panel three.

The fact that Donnie lets this happen so willingly (even when passed out. I would guess that over the years in the apocalypse, the turtles have learned a way to protect themselves even in their sleep.) shows that he is fully out and probably wont wake up for a while.

In page 19, notice how there wasn’t just one panel being used to show Leo focusing on Donnie’s pulse, but two. We can tell by Leo’s facial expression that he’s still having doubts of seeing Donnie alive again.

Still doubting that things are real in the third panel as he goes to check his own pulse. His own pulse being much quicker than Donnies. This could be because of the fact that Donnie’s asleep while Leo is awake. Or it could be the fact that Leo is very alert now that he’s alone.

In the last panel, Leo finally lets himself say what he’s thinking at the moment “what the fuck”. I don’t think ive ever read those words with so much emotion behind them because yes. Leo is just… so confused on how he got here. He has no clue that they’re in the present timeline, where Donnie can resurrect people. He has no idea if there are other people out there other than him and Donnie. He doesn’t even know that the sky is now free of krang and is blue instead of the apocalyptic red.

The last panel also shows us that Leo is also finally starting to take note of his surroundings, past just trying to reach for Donnie.

Some other theories/notes; I’m guessing that Leo is going to need a lot of guidance/reassurance of the fact that things are real and that he can relax. Like Casey, he probably wont be a fan of the big crowds in NYC and would rather stay hidden.

I’m also guessing that the family will have some sort of “talk” about what has happened overall. The war, the people they’ve lost, everything. Maybe Cass wont add this in, but I think Mikey will try to have everyone at least address the fact that not only are they survivors, but they are also veterans from a long, long war.

So all he had to do was hope

So when it arrived, the just cam was on them

Casey Jones Rise ‘Verse Headcanons

SPOILER ALERT FOR THE RISE OF THE TMNT MOVIE!!!

IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED THE MOVIE AND DON’T WANT ANY SPOILERS DO NOT READ THIS POST

I wanted to wait a few more days to post a headcanon but my brain is going crazy over this

Casey Jones has PTSD 

he comes from a dystopian future where there was a horrifying bloody war, they ate rats and leafs, probably never had a moment of peace to sleep or do anything other than surviving, explosions and screams everywhere and that’s just a hint of it

Casey probably has a very irregular sleep patern and is a light sleeper, and adding to that I believe he can fall asleep anywhere that he feels is safe enough

This causes the Hamato’s to find him asleep in weird places at some random moment of the day/night

     on the couch, the floor, a random “high view post” from where he was keeping watch, the pipes, Donnie’s lab, the arcade, you name it he fell asleep there

(the guys sometimes have to move him to a better sleep post and wake him up as gently as possible,

 they don’t like to have to wake him up but they can’t just lift him up without any warnig while he’s asleep or they get a frantic and panicked elbow to the face 

((they learned that one the hard way))

which I’ll explain more about)

he wakes up ready for a fight or flight situation, and that’s why it is not a good idea to just grab him whenever he sleeps

Too many times where there was a sudden night attack from the Kraang and he had to act quickly

He’s not a big fan of the New York City bustle [correct me if the word is not correct please :’) ]

what i mean is 

he hates crowded spaces

too little space to move or run if he has to, too many people talking and making noise, too many people that would get hurt running to safety, pushing and sidestepping and glaring, and just- no

loud noises scare him, fireworks especially

he also has a bad eating schedule and even worse eating habits

he eats very little and at strange times

Spinter once caught him in lettuce [yes lettuce] under the kitchen table at 3 am

the others try to help him, and Mikey along with Donnie help in making him a small eating calendar with the times he should eat and what foods are good to injest in his situation 

(the situation being that back in his og time there was barely any food to go around so his stomach, growth and developement may not be as healthy as it could be)

donnie: he's known for repairing weapons, upgrading them and stuff. he's jett's friend (met him when he first came to the company for a job), and the one who customized his weapon. he sometimes parcipates in turf wars, when he does that he mains explosher for some reason. he's a tableturf champion. he befriends jerome through jett. ink color is yellow

mira: shes a huge idol fan. shes from splatlands, but travelled to inkopolis to see squid sisters and off the hook, but moved back to splatsville to see deep cut. she also loves the beach and wants to go in the water so bad. she befriended dizzy and astra first when they moved to the surface. she hates salmon run. she does extremely well in turf wars, and she mains tri-stringer. ink color is green

octolings

dizzy: she was a soldier in-training in the octarian army, although she never completed it because her participation gradually decreased (thanks to astra, who is her friend that liked to sneak out and experiment) she then disappeared completely from there after hearing the inkantation. she participates in turf wars sometimes and she mains splat roller. ink color is pink

jerome: he sneaked up upon the surface to watch turf wars years ago, and stayed there and never came back. he sometimes participated in turf wars (pre-octo expansion so he kinda...wore a disguise? yknow how there are no octolings in splat1? something like that), and beat jett (thats how he met him). he was known as mysterink (or some other i tried to make a pun 😭) he mains e-liter 4k scope. ink color dark blue

astra: shes childhood friends with dizzy. she never participated in octarian training bc she found it boring, that made her 'stay in the shadows' because they wanted her to join bc of her intelligence. so she never showed up in crowds and stuff. instead, she experiemented on stuff like ink. she had a small hiding spot/cave in octo valley. later on (in splat3) she helps mira to develop a kind of clothing for help them swim. she got the hang of turf wars quickly, she mains reef-lux 450. ink color is bright blue

they all become friends later on heheh. idk about the specials for now except astra LOVES tenta missiles

Do you like the relaunch turtles design? Honestly, I'm not a big fan cause it looks like the Mirage design. I would prefer something targeted to the adult fans who grew up in the 90's watching TMNT

As far as I can tell, these are just the designs of the first four issues. I honestly think it will go like the IDW, with a style that changes depending on the mood and story of the issue.

To be honest, I'm excited. The published designs for Raph and Mikey reminds me of the IDW comics, and I really like the art style of Donnie's design. I also think it's kinda funny that the oldest one is drawn in a Mirage style.

Right now, I think the closest we'll get to something that is targeted towards the adult fans is The Last Ronin. If the upcoming video game is as big a success as the comic, then they might try to target the adult crowd a little harder.

"I've only ever heard these in stories, but seeing it in person is just... Wow!" Casey was really amazed by all the beauty and life buzzing around the cities. It was a big change for him, really. After literally being hunted down for years and having no rest with having to keep on a look out constantly, it was uncomfortable at first but he was starting to get the hang of it.

Currently in the underground city, Leonardo was walking along with his brothers, seeing around until his eyes landed on something. "Hey, guys, take a look at this!" Leo looked all giddy so Casey walked over and stood next to the blue turtle. It was a poster. There was no other explanation and Casey could only raise an eyebrow in confusion, "Who's this?"

Leo was about to explain until Donnie and Mikey pushed him aside, "That's (Name), their band is the most popular as of right now." "I've been a fan ever since their first song came out!" Donnie sighed in content until he was pushed aside by Leo. Mikey nervously laughed and quickly went to check out art supplies that were on display.

"Any-ways... Since you haven't developed a good taste in music yet, I thought maybe we could take you to one of their concerts." Leo grinned. Raph nodded, "Not a bad idea, Leo! I'll grab the snacks when we get there."

"Yeah! I'll go ahead and text Sunita and Cassandra if they'd like to come." April had already taken her phone out, quickly sending out a message.

"Donnie will buy the tickets-."

"On it."

Casey could only chuckle at their antics, wondering what in the world a concert was.

(Name) appeared on the stage. They stood in the front of the spotlight, trying to see through the fog. (Name) breathed in, then out. It was time to give a performance.

They put on a bright smile, "Are you all ready to hear some music?!" They moved their mic towards the crowd, hearing the cheers from the audience. "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!"

The crowd only cheered louder. (Name) nodded in satisfaction, putting the mic to their lips when the drums and electric guitar started.

Casey was mesmerized. Their vocals, the way they moved to the rhythm, just everything about them had Casey choked up.

Leo noticed this and nudged the boy, winking teasingly and cheering along with the crowd. Casey's eyes just wouldn't leave their form.

After such an experience, he couldn't stop talking about it. The turtles were glad they took him, as he seemed to look a lot brighter than other days.

A few months have passed since that fateful day of his first ever concert, and since then he's been getting to know about their music. Casey became obsessed like never before. The songs that played in his earbuds almost everyday really motivated him to keep moving forward.

And here we are. After a while in waiting in line, Casey nervously looked up and saw (Name), his literal idol. He was at a meet and greet that everyone urged him to go to, and so he took that chance.

He was stiff as a board as he walked up to the stand, making (Name) chuckle as they waved, "Hey! How are you today?" They greeted excitedly, grabbing a marker to sign whatever Casey brought. Casey tried to seem confident, but he couldn't help but feel so nervous. He gave (Name) a white t-shirt as he tried to calm his nerves. "I'm doing well, how about you?"

(Name) signed the shirt and looked up at him, "I'm doing quite well myself, thank you for asking!" Casey felt his heart swell at that. Seeing as he was the last person in line, (Name) urged him to sit down and talk.

(Name) welcomed it with a big smile as they answered some questions and left some out to figure out on his own. They both got along quite well, it was refreshing not having to put on a fake smile all the time.

(Name) became intrigued by the boy. They couldn't place their finger on it, but he felt... Different, somehow. Not in a bad way, of course. As Casey rambled on, (Name) listened, chiming in here and there so as to not stop him from talking as they quite enjoyed his company. The time finally came where Casey had to leave as time ran out for both of them.

Although a bit bummed, he felt light and a lot more warm than usual. He didn't know what to call this feeling, as it was a first.

"It was great talking to you, I'll be looking forward to seeing you again at my future concerts!" (Name) smiled and got an idea. They grabbed a sticky note and quickly scribbled down something. "I don't give my number to just anyone, so keep this between us, yeah?" They handed it to Casey.

Casey stared in awe, quickly nodding, "Of course. Thank you for your time, it was a pleasure meeting you!"

Bidding your goodbyes, Casey knew he would never forget this day as he exited out of the building. He smiled to himself and neatly folded the paper to stuff it into his pocket.

Venus is non-verbal, she grew up in Hidden City’s wilderness and had no use in language. She later started sneaking into the City and picked up the language but still is more comfortable in not talking. Donnie will teach her sign language. She likes crowds, but they exhaust her quickly. Jenny has a hidden dark snark and because of the specifics of her work under Big Mama a bit of twisted sense of humour. Knows how to Talk to people, but has short patience for their bullshit and it takes her all the self-restrain not to kick their asses. Secretely is Lou Jitsu’s fan, rewatching his old matches. Will immediately take exhausted team mom role, because HOW did you survive??

ahh thank you! it was a lot of fun trying out different ways to make him look different from his other designs so i'm glad you like it!

and yeah i have a few little character notes about this version of him!

he's the baby of the family still (i feel like it's illegal to ever take that away from him) but he just REALLY wants his independence, kinda like rottmnt mikey. he's 13 so he thinks he's grown but.. we all know what kids are like at that age lol

he's hard of hearing! turtles usually have pretty poor hearing but i just like the idea of him using sign language (their own special kind because the whole three fingers thing really make it hard for regular asl) which ties into another little character note about donnie who is autistic and oftentimes becomes nonverbal so they both sign pretty regularly :)

he is a BIG horror fan - whether it's comics, movies or video games he really really digs that specific genre. granted, he scares himself into his shell more often times than not but he doesn't care lol

REALLY into art. makes his own little graphic novels that splinter keeps and treasures dearly

ADHD for sure. he hyperfixates on superheroes (kinda like 2003!mike) and like. all the turtles are neurodivergent but yeah. *slaps turtle* you can hold so much adhd in this bad boy

his turtle species is pretty rare! he's a yellow blotched map turtle - they have pretty delicate shells because of the spines and of course Mikey is pretty accident prone, hence why they kinda crowd him a little

5 — i feel like kita would go absolutely extreme doctor mode w any type of pain , whether it be a sickness or a bruise .. she just wanna be healthy healthy — like healthy healthy healthy healthy .. rlly healthy

51 — Kita isnt a big fan of crowded places so i think she perfer a little group , doing anything rlly expect 4 a birthday party . she would rather have a dinner out , tickets 2 somewhere or even a little bit of shopping .

1 — Zuka moves around a lot , she is very active so i would assume she smells like the salty scent of sea air , sometimes she will wear perfume which smells like wild roses . donnie enjoys this scent alot — hehe

5 — she aint care , she rlly think it just a scratch ( when its not *coughs* ) Zuka literally brushes everything off , like even putting Alcohol on her wounds dont sting her body is like i cant 😭

5 — It mostly depends the pain ? i guess , Lyra can tolerate poison , she has a very big immune system 4 that . but when it comes 2 bruises / wounds or emotionally pain , Lyra cries a lot .. the whole team is surprised she functions like this —

- Daphne Oz, Veda Scott, Sam Leterna, and Alyssa Marino of The Ring opened the show with Daphne explaining that unfortunately Santa Claus will not be appearing on today's program. Apparently a lot of children on the naughty list have seen the error of their ways and Santa is working overtime to get their presents ready in time for Christmas. The hosts said they would like to take this unexpected opportunity to shed some light on an important issue. They had met an unhoused man that had been living by the studio, despite his circumstances he still dresses in a Santa outfit every day and tries to bring joy to the young wrestling fans that line up before our tapings. They brought in their special guest for the day, Sylvester Carroll.

The TrustBusters (Sonny Kiss and Trench) vs. Piper and Prima Donny The TrustBusters defeated Piper and Prima Donny via submission with the inverted full nelson from Trench on Piper.

- Daphne Oz said that oranges and clementines are popular presents this time of year, but how often have you received the gift of clementines for Christmas and you just can't finish the entire bag before they go bad? Daphne shared some recipes you can make using clementines, including clementine pound cake, clementine sugar cookies, a white chocolate and clementine yule log, and clementine granita. Sylvester Carroll was seated at the head of the table and enjoyed a serving of each.

Sam Leterna opened her gift first, an oversized faux-mohair scarf. Veda Scott opened the next present, and they received a classic cable knit beanie and matching mittens. Alyssa Marino was up next, and she was gifted a lovely poncho style cardigan. Daphne Oz opened the final gift, a plush fleece loft blanket. As thrilled as the hosts were with their gifts, they couldn't help but turn their attention on Sylvester Carroll. One by one our hosts gathered their presents and gifted them to Sylvester, who was overwhelmed by the gesture and thanked them for showing the true spirit of Christmas.

- folkstyle tried to double team Holdcraft, but a big boot from Giant Baba Yaga sent Shaw Mason through the ropes and to the floor. Baba Yaga followed Mason to the outside, but a masked man appeared from the crowd and attacked Baba from behind. Holdcraft noticed the sneak attack and seemed poised to help, but Bosby grabbed Hunter from behind and pulled him into the rip cord lariat. folkstyle defeated Hunter Holdcraft and Giant Baba Yaga with the rip cord lariat from Bosby on Holdcraft

- The masked man removed his hood to reveal former amateur wrestling star at Kent State, Nic Nemeth. Nemeth, Mason, and Bosby celebrated their victory and demanded the match against 2023 Trios Kingdom winners The 37KAMIINA on Christmas night in Bethlehem.

- The Ring Crew said their farewells to special Christmas guest Sylvester Carroll who insisted that he be on his way despite the hosts inviting him to stay. Sylvester, his arms full of the gifts he had received left the set. As the hosts returned to their desk, Veda Scott realized that Sylvester had forgotten his bindle, but as the four ran outside after him they saw he was gone. The Ring Crew returned to the studio and when Veda set the bindle down it teetered over and four presents spilled out, all wrapped and labeled, with each gift addressed to one of the hosts. As the four unwrapped their presents they found the same exact gifts they had unwrapped earlier. The four were amazed by this, and as they tried to find the words to describe what had just transpired we went to commercial break.

SHIMMER Tag Team Championship Tournament - Semi-Finals:

Queen Aminata and Raychell Rose vs. Hyan and Kylie Paige - Kylie Paige went for the Code Red on Queen Aminata, but Raychell Rose broke it up with a spear. This sent Paige to the mat while Aminata rolled through into a cradle pin. Queen Aminata and Raychell Rose defeated Hyan and Kylie Paige with a rolling cradle from Aminata on Paige.

- Sonny Kiss and Trench came down to ringside to mock Hyan and Kylie Paige about their loss. Aminata and Rose stood up for their opponents, and Kiss and Trench seemed ready to fight until Big Dan Champion and Joshua Bishop also made their way to ringside.

- Daphne, Veda, Sam, and Alyssa were still trying to make sense of what happened earlier with Sylvester Carroll. Veda asked, "you don't think he was the real…" before in unison the four dismissed the idea. Just then sleigh bells could be heard from outside the studio followed by the sounds of reindeer hooves. The four ran to the stage door and looked up into the night sky only to hear a loud "HO! HO! HO!" somewhere in the distance.
