Faulkner finally broke down and began begging and screaming when he heard Carpenter was alive and with Shrue. Carpenter was his breaking point. And it is so damn delicious because he has held onto her memory as an anchor point, hoping that she lives on, even if she hates him forever. When he finds out she is alive and in danger, the dam breaks, the stained glass cracks, the mask falls.

Meanwhile, Carpenter’s voice is lilting and grim when she talks about Faulkner. “I told him. I told him I wouldn’t take another life in his name. I was done with him. And yet, there you are, brother. And here I am.” There he is, forcing her hand yet again. Leaving her with no choice but to break her own vow.

These two make me insane and I don’t think there’s any way back for their relationship. I’m still hoping that somehow there is.

5 hours in and this Shadowheart duo run is already so painful cause she's gotta be solo for now until I can get Minthara. Although the roleplay potential of doing some seriously fucked up shit for the sake of survival is very enjoyable.
