Sharp aqua blue eyes scanned the room. They noted all the various security cameras, security personal, and locations of all of the exits. She internally mapped out the entirety of the hotel in her mind. A blue print forming in her head.
The hotel was lavish. Expensive décor. Crystal chandeliers. Rich guests, dolled up for a night in the casino or bar, or any of the other facilities the Tres Spades boasted. Whispering to Hugo, MC noted,
“Clearly has a thing for opulence, doesn’t he?”
“I wonder if we will meet him tonight?” Hugo squealed, blushing. All MC could do was chuckle, knowing full well Hugo had gone into full blown fan girl, crush mode.
“I have no intention of making any move to connect with him. He is not my target. And frankly nothing good would come from meeting him here tonight. It just happens that my target uses his hotel… unfortunately.”
Hugo was obviously aware of her past experiences with Eisuke. When was it she had confided her past in him? When he had been the one to discover Eisuke was searching for her?
“Spoilsport.” Hugo grunted, although the soft, understanding smile on his face belied his moaning.
“Hugo, lets head to the casino. Play a few games, giving me the chance to look around inside, then we can leave”.
Nodding to her once, Hugo escorted MC into the casino. Acting the perfect combination between gentleman and protector.
As they made their way through the doors, MC could feel as all eyes fell on her. She felt blanketed by the stares. Nonetheless, she kept her head high, face forward. Not once glancing at those staring her way.
Stares of others was something she had become well accustomed to over the years.
“Babe, everyone is looking at you!” Hugo squeaked. His eyes widening with excitement. Smiling at him, MC shook her head. Simply shrugging.
“Nothing new, not with your talents of making me look a million dollars” Her comment made Hugo blush, turning as red as a strawberry.
As they continued walking, MC detected a different sort of stare. Not hostile, for the hairs on the back of her neck did not stand on edge in the way hostile stares made them.
Although, they certainly were not admiring stares either.
They felt inquisitive, as though questioning who she was.
Careful, as to only move her eyes, she found the source of these gazes. Her eyes briefly finding a group sat in the middle, playing poker.
Five men gazing her way. Each gaze slightly different.
The man she recognised as Mitsunari Baba gazed adoringly her way. The desire and lust of this ladies’ man evident in those brown eyes. The artist, Ota Kisaki, too held similar affection in his look. Although, his was accompanied by a sort of innocence. Cute.
The lazy detective, Mamoru Kishi, briefly glanced at MC before looking away, back down at his cards and raising the bets. To an untrained eye, you would think he was uninterested by MC’s presence. However, she noticed the subtle glances he sent her way. The questions forming in his head.
Soryu Oh, now his gaze bored into her. He was clearly questioning who she must be. Was she friend or foe? It was almost entertaining to watch his attempts to determine this flit across his face.
But it was the cold glare of Eisuke Ichinomiya, looking her way. It could be seen as anything. Anything from intrigue or malice, or lust. His eyes followed her every move. Seeing him staring at her prompted a waver in MC’s heart, of feelings from the past, a past which should be forgotten.
No.
A past that IS forgotten.
MC forced a lid over those feelings. Her mask firmly in place.
It was not her intention to make any sort of contact with any of these men. Frankly, she would have preferred them to not have noticed her. So, she took her eyes off the group. Proceeding towards the roulette wheel.
Maybe she’ll stay longer tonight, so she can observe them too? Risky, she thought. But at least she wouldn’t be bored.
Leaning in close to Hugo, MC whispered into his ear,
“We’ve sparked their interest. Ensure you don’t look around too much while we are here. Move only your eyes. We don’t need them getting too close. We’ll play the roulette for a few spins and then move onto a different poker table”.
“Got it” Hugo nodded. They began placing their bets. All the while, MC could sense the gazes of the group on her back. A burning, as though they really could burn holes in the back of her head with their looks.
They played a few games. So far, MC had correctly chosen the number and colour on the roulette wheel each time.
“Black, 15” She said. But she had not been alone in voicing it. Moving only her eyes, she noticed Eisuke had joined the roulette table and was standing beside her. Eyeing her, as he placed his bets.
Shit, she thought she would manage to avoid him a bit longer. How long had passed since their voices had overlapped? Although her face and demeanour would not show it, inside she was busily calculating the success of any of her attempts to move away.
“Ma’am will you be placing a bet also?” The employee spinning the wheel asked her. The sound of their voice bringing MC out of her head.
Still refusing to look at Eisuke, MC quietly shook her head, moving away from the table. Her long curls swaying, offering her face and features some protection from Eisuke’s knowing stare.
Dipping her head in a polite, graceful bow in thank to the employee, MC placed her hand into the crook of Hugo’s arm. The pair elegantly walking in search of another table.
The gesture seemed to frustrate Eisuke, as his eyes followed MC as she moved towards the poker table. His glare boring into her, did not go unnoticed by the agent.
“Did you guys see that? She just completely ignored Boss!” Baba exclaimed in shock.
“Ahahahaha that won’t please Eisuke!” Ota laughed heartily. MC could feel Soryu’s glare harshen at her brazen attitude towards Eisuke as she passed them to the other poker table.
Despite his glare, as sharp as daggers, MC still was undeterred. A fact which surprised the bidders.
“Kid’s got guts” Mamoru said, while exhaling the smoke from his cigarette. Clearly, he was now displaying a more open interest in her than to the casino.
“I think I may have caught their attention” MC smiled, Hugo, slightly nervously coughed.
Looking to the side, she noticed a few other seats at the table had been taken. Fuck. Opposite her now, sat Eisuke. Still, he had not taken his eyes away from her. The other seats, now occupied his friends.
“Brillante, esto debe ser bueno. Por qué no me dejarían en paz esta noche? (brilliant, this should be good. Why could they not just leave me alone tonight?)” MC muttered under her breath to herself, making Hugo laugh, and earning a harsher glare from the man sitting opposite her.
“What did she say?” Ota asked the others, all of them looking around at each other. Yet Eisuke kept his gaze firmly on her.
“It was Spanish. Although, I am not sure what she said exactly” He stated.
At this, MC for the first time tonight, finally looked at him. And smiled. The minute she looked directly at them, they all gasped.
A slight uncertainty filled Eisuke’s eyes, as he stared directly into hers. She held his gaze. Never looking away. Shit… had he recognised her?
“Woah! No one has ever held Eisuke’s gaze before!” Ota exclaimed.
Now it was Soryu who was looking at her. He, too, reacted in the same way when he came face to face, finally looking into her eyes.
“Only one other person could ever hold Eisuke’s gaze. But… we haven’t seen her around in years.” Soryu stated, trying to get a better read of MC.
MC made sure she kept her features schooled. Despite her inside turmoil, wondering if she had been found out, she remained outwardly undeterred.
“Oh yeah, what was her name again?” Baba asked.
“MC…” Eisuke breathed her name out. While it was in reply to Baba’s question, his eyes continued looking directly into MC’s. Almost as if he was speaking her name directly to her. Beckoning her.
Her heart stopped. Stomach dropping. To anyone around her, she appeared calm. No different. But inside was a blizzard of emotions. Emotions that she had locked away.
A past, long forgotten. Like a mantra, she kept reminding herself. It was long ago. She had forgotten it all. ALL. OF. IT. No memory could remain.
Slowly placing her cards down, she turned to Hugo, who was already eyeing her cautiously.
“Go get the car. Be ready for me around the corner. Text me when you are down there and I will leave” She whispered in his ear.
Giving her a quick nod, Hugo hurried from the casino and downstairs.
“Entonces, estás listo para jugar? (So, are you ready to play?)” MC smiled. At this, Eisuke smirked.
“Let’s play”.
As we were dealt some more cards, Eisuke and MC never once took their eyes from each other.
Baba folded. Then Ota. Soon followed by Soryu and Mamoru.
It was just Eisuke and MC left. In her hand, she held a royal flush. She couldn’t lose. Eisuke pushed all his chips forwards.
“All in” He said, smirking.
Gods, she remembered playing poker with him when they were teenagers. That same trademark smirk when he thought he had won, riled her up then, and was still bugging her now.
All eyes focused on her. Smiling, she too, pushed all her chips into the middle.
“Todo en (all in)” Onlookers had begun murmuring around them. Suddenly, MC felt her phone buzz. Hugo was ready for her.
“Show your cards!” The dealer declared. Eisuke showing his, he had a straight. Everyone looked at him as though he had won. Then the dealer pointed to MC.
“Well played, Sir.” She said, standing from her seat, dropping the Spanish language with them for the first time that evening, but maintaining the fake accent hoping they wouldn’t know it was her. She tossed her cards forward, as though she had lost.
Baba grabbed them turning them over.
“ROYAL FLUSH!? She won!” He exclaimed.
But when they all turned to where she had been seated only moments earlier, all they could see was her weaving her way through the crowded casino, towards the exit.
“WAIT!” Eisuke’s shout trailed behind her, still MC did not turn around.
She needed to get out of there. Fast. It was a good thing she had compiled a blue print of the building in her mind earlier that evening allowing her to identify the quickest route out.
“Soryu, catch up with her, I want to speak to her!” Eisuke barked his order.
Oh, hell no, MC thought. A quick glance behind her showed Soryu come running her way. Welp, good thing she knew how to run in heels!
As she made her way through the door, she turned back once more noticing Soryu was still following her. Great… she couldn’t lead them towards Hugo and the waiting car like this.
Continuing to make a run for it, she navigated her way through the back alleys to give her a chance to break out onto a different busy street and hopefully gain some distance between her and her pursuers.
Phoning Hugo, she quickly informed him of her dilemma and instructed him to get home as it was far too risky to wait for her. Promising him she would inform him when she was home, she ended the call and continued running through the dark, thin alley.
After running further into the alley, she found the perfect spot before the end of the busy street to hide. And just in time too, for Soryu rounded the corner shortly after she had hidden herself away.
The sound of his feel splashing through the puddles littering the pavement. The sound of him kissing his teeth before starting to phone someone, echoed through the empty alleyway. Snippets of their conversation filled MC’s ears.
“Eisuke, I lost her. She must have blended in with the crowd after I followed her through the alleyways.” … “I’m sorry Eisuke.” … “Yes, she looked just like her, but it has been so long and we haven’t ever found any evidence she’s living around here, I couldn’t say for certain.” … “No I know her eyes were the same, but without speaking to her we can’t be certain.” … “Don’t forget, MC didn’t speak Spanish?” … “Look, I’m on my way back, we can try see if we can turn up any new information on MC again, but I doubt we will find anything.”
With that, she heard Soryu vacate the alley. Once she was certain he was gone, she stepped out from her hiding spot and headed out onto the busy streets.
Looked alike… MC… they really were looking for her. This was the last thing she needed while her mission was taking place inside his bloody hotel!
When she finally made it back to her apartment, she updated the Boss.
He had been impressed she had taken the initiative to scope the place out, and had obtained a ticket to the IVC, and also identified verifiable information regarding the black-market auctions.
However, he also stated it was now too risky for her to engage in the game, particularly since she had a history with Eisuke, under the circumstances where he was aware of her true identity. As such, she was instructed to not investigate until the next IVC, as a way to prevent potentially blowing her cover.
She would be free for two days. Therefore, she opted to roam through the streets of Japan, a place she hadn’t spent much time in recently due to missions keeping her away.
Pulling her long locks back and up into a messy bun, and applying some lighter, natural makeup, MC slipped into a cream knitted jumper, and some black high waisted skinny jeans, and some white daps. Putting her air pods in, she started playing a random playlist and headed out.
After walking the streets window shopping for a couple of hours, she decided to head into a café with a cute interior. It had a cute, cosy vibe and was quiet, despite it being the middle of the day. The wooden tables and benches, and the shrubs gave the place a rustic vibe.
Ordering herself a spiced latte and a slice of cake, she made her way over to a table at the back, in the corner, furthest from the door. She may not be working, but she still wished to remain inconspicuous.
Soon the waiter brought over her order, thanking him politely, MC turned to look out the window absentmindedly.
All of a sudden, there was a commotion by the café door. Looking up, MC saw none other than Eisuke and Soryu, walking in. Well that was her break in the café over.
Slowly, so as not to create any suspicion or draw any notice, she left some money on the table and made her way towards the exit with her head down.
They both seemed distracted by the crowd of women surrounding them, creating the perfect commotion for MC to leave undetected.
As she was scurrying away, she overheard Soryu speaking to Eisuke.
“She’s gone” A quick glance at the pair showed her their eyes were directed to the seat where she had been only moments earlier. Surely, they had not come in just to see her…
“Ugh, keep looking for her. I need to speak with her.” Eisuke grunted a reply.
As he turned his eyes suddenly met with MC’s, as though her gaze had lingered too long and drawn his to her. But as quickly as they had met, MC turned, disappearing into the bustling streets.
“Soryu, there!” Eisuke’s shout followed her. Great. They couldn’t have just left her in peace.
Luckily wearing daps meant she could run even faster than when she was wearing heels yesterday, making today’s daring escape 100 times easier.
She ran. And ran. Making her way across town, with only one destination in mind.
Shige’s workshop.
If she got to his workshop, she could hide. If they followed her, they would be none the wiser that it wasn’t your typical workshop.
She could sense she was being followed. They were keeping a polite distance. One where they wouldn’t lose her, nor would they spook her into running quicker.
Glancing behind her, she could see it was as expected, Eisuke and Soryu following her. Turning around, she started to speed up. Almost there. As she stepped into the alley, she began to run.
“Wait!” Their voices called from behind her, as two sets of footsteps, too, picked up pace. Quickly, looking behind her, she noticed they were no longer in sight, so she slipped into Shige’s store.
“MC?” Shige looked at her concerned. Her breathing told him everything he needed to know, yet she still explained. Even if it was in rushed words, and heavy breaths.
“Let me hide, I’m being followed. I’ll explain after.” Nodding once, Shige opened the hidden door below his counter. MC crawled in, closing the door behind her. As soon as the door shut, she heard the chime of the bell on the front door and two sets of footsteps, announcing her pursuers had arrived.
“Can I help you gentlemen?” Shige asked the people who had just entered.
“Where is the girl who just came in here?” Eisuke demanded.
“You’re my first customers this afternoon, I’m afraid”
“Do. Not. Lie. To. Me.” Eisuke responded clearly angry with Shige’s response, “We saw her come in here”
“Wasn’t here I’m afraid” This time it was Soryu’s turn to ask questions.
“Look we’re looking for someone who was a friend once. We haven’t seen her in years and we thought we’d seen her again last night, and then again in a café just now. We just want to see if it is her.”
“I wish I could help, but as I already said she didn’t come here”
“You’re lying!” Eisuke yelled. “Come on Soryu” With that she heard them both leave, the bell chiming to show they had walked through the door. MC heard Shige walk over and lock the door and closing the blinds before letting her out the secret room.
“Isn’t he someone you knew before you joined the EAC?” Shige asked, concerned.
“Yes… apparently they are still searching for me… They know my first name at least and associate it with my looks. But they haven’t seen or heard from me since I left my old life behind. I don’t understand why they are still searching for me when I disappeared years ago! And now my bloody target is staying in his stupid hotel!” MC spluttered. The frustration of the chase was evidence of the influence they had had on her emotions.
“That’s going to make your mission tougher then” Shige said with concern.
“You’re telling me… at least I like a challenge” MC smiled half-heartedly, letting a sigh escape her lips.
When she left the workshop, MC found herself walking back along the main road. Figuring she should purchase some food from the store, she headed into the closest convenience store.
Upon entering, she clocked the cashier. Shit. Baba sat behind the counter reading the latest horoscope readings. Best make this quick, and avoid eye contact. Picking up some Lady Borden and some other necessities, she headed towards the counter.
Hi there, pretty lady, is this everything?” Without looking up, MC smiled and nodded. “Have we met before? You seem familiar?” Baba asked. Simply shaking her head, keeping her eyes down, MC responded.
“No, I don’t come around here too often” And she wouldn’t be again, she thought. Finishing up, and paying for her items, MC started to leave.
“Aqua blue eyes are a rarity pretty lady. Not many people have them. Particularly in Japan.” His comment made her finally look up. Not disclosing her nerves, she offered him a friendly smile.
“So I have heard, but rare as they are, I am not the only person with eyes this shade. Maybe you have just been lucky enough to meet a few of us.” Baba didn’t seem convinced, he nonetheless, let her leave without asking any other questions.
MC made a mental note to herself… start wearing sunglasses or contacts to hide her eyes from people.

Trash to Treasure - Eisuke Ichinomiya x reader
Chapter 4
Chapter 1 2 3
After trying on dress after dress I felt the fatigue catch up to me yet Eisuke showed no mercy. Every dress came with a critique that didnt hold back to protect my feelings. It was always too this or too that and despite it getting on my nerves that not one dress in this entire boutique suited me I contiuned on obediently with only a slight attitude.
After changing out of the last dress which I thought seemed okay stared in the mirror. Bags lay under my eyes and more than a few hairs strayed away from the rest. Even if we found the perfect dress the rest of me definitely wouldn't look up to Eisuke's standards.
The thought made me sigh. We were polar opposites and I knew barely anything about him. It seemed like he knew some things about me but it couldn't have been enough to warrant him forcing me to be his girlfriend and telling me I'm not allowed to leave the penthouse.
After zipping up the dress I stepped out of the changing room awaiting his newest insult to the dress yet it didnt come.
He scanned over my body and gestured for me to turn. I spun slowly before turning back to him. A look of slight approval covered his expression before letting the staff know he would be purchasing the dress. We continued onwards to our next destination where I was sat in a chair and faced toward a mirror. Eisuke let the staff know what he wanted before leaving. At first I was slightly embarrassed about my appearance but as the hairdresser and makeup artist worked their magic I started to feel a little better. Not to mention being pampered felt a little relaxing especially after the past week.
By the time they were done, Eisuke had returned and upon seeing my appearance a playboy smirk appeared on his face.
"You actually look decent," he said. Despite it seeming like a compliment he somehow made it sound like an insult. However, I ignored the slight passive aggressive tone and thanked him; he was the one paying for it after all. The gratitude appeared to have caught him off guard as his cocky expression dimmed for a half second before it returned in hand with a retort.
"Quite obedient, aren't you?" He wrapped his arm around my waist and dragged my body close to his. My cheeks brightened in response as I averted my gaze. "Maybe I'll treat you, if you keep it up." He chuckled at my reaction. Afterwards I kept silent and continued walking beside him. I'd never been this close to someone before so I didnt know how else to react other than following his lead and it clearly appealed to him somewhat.
Eventually we entered into a crowded room. Every single person wore sophisticated and expensive clothing accessorised with diamonds and jewels that flaunted their wealth. Despite my outfit, I felt massively out of place. I didnt belong in a room of normal people yet alone people of the highest class.
I felt my heart begin to pound as my anxiety began to engulf me. My clammy hands fondled the necklace that lay on my collarbone as my eyes rapidly scanned the room around me without actually processing what I was seeing. I felt like crying. The room felt so far away yet consumed me all the same. Thoughts bombarded me but before I had the chance a scoff accompanying a hand holding mine dragged me out of the mini anxiety attack.
I turned to the man next to me. His expression was unamused to say the least but I still appreciated the silent help he offered to me even if he dreaded the thought of it.
"Just stay by my side and you'll be fine," he said with annoyance. Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth, I nodded slightly and grasped his hand back.
"Thank you," I muttered in appreciation. I gazed up at him and immediately felt my eyes attachment to his image. He was gorgeous. His hair fell perfectly and his skin was flawless. His exterior beauty was out of this world and I had no issue focusing on it instead of the party around me for the time being.
The night went on and before I knew it I was back in bed again. The dress I had on before was thrown on the floor as I lay in a towel after taking a warm shower wash away the stress. A deep sigh escaped me as my gaze fixated on the ceiling while I let thoughts wonder through my mind.
I didnt think Eisuke was capable of supporting me through that party. He had the social skills but he seemed more like the type of person to do his own thing without caring about those around him suffering yet he still stood by me the entire night without letting go of my sweaty hand.
My heart warmed at the thought of him being there for me and it continued to do so every night we spent out together over the next few months.
The moon fell from the horizon as the bright beams from the sun woke me up. I turned to the clock by my bedside and sighed at the fact I had work in an hour. Pushing the covers off my I got ready for my early shift.
After a week or two of living in the penthouse Eisuke offered me a job working in the hotel so I didnt have to leave the property. I wasnt a fan at first but I was gradually going insane at spending most of my time either at parties or in my room so I eventually took him up on the offer.
At first I was a maid but customer service soon proved to be too much for me and I broke down in front of Eisuke. With a huff of annoyance he wrapped his arms around me and ran his fingers through my hair. I felt like I was in his embrace for hours and it felt right. Despite the eye rolls and sighs he was always somewhat patient with me. We eventually found a job that was adequate for me which mainly included random jobs behind the scenes and obviously spending time working in the penthouse, my main job being making coffee for Eisuke.
Once I was ready I headed out of my room to start on the first task I do every morning; make coffee.
Eisuke sat in the living room reading his tablet as he did most mornings.
"Good morning," I greeted with a smile smile. He hummed in response as I continued to the kitchen to make his coffee. I placed it in the table in front of him before sitting on the sofa too. I turned my body toward him and watched as he sipped his coffee quietly.
"Not bad," he replied with a slight cocky grin. I couldn't help but smile in return. Over the past months I had learned that was probably the best compliment I could get from Eisuke. I had probably spent so many hours just watching Eisuke. At some point I decided I was smitten with him and ended up becoming attached to him.
I continued gazing at him before he turned to me and catching me in the act. I turned away as quick as possible realising how much of a creep I must seem. My cheeks turned rosy as I face palmed in front of him. He cackled at my reaction to being caught and I looked up at him through my fingers.
"Dont you have work?" he questioned before I could recover. I turned to the clock and jumped out of the seat in shock. He really hit me with a double whammy. Before I could rush out the door he gripped my wrist and pulled me into his lap. My cheeks went from pink to red. The whole scene seemed to please him as I felt his warm breath on my neck. I shuddered while frozen in place.
"E-Eisuke?"
He didnt respond and his hands continued to roam my body. I lay my hand on his before looking in his eyes. My whole body began to heat heat up as his lips grazed the crook of my neck roughly. His tongue circled a sweet spot before he pulled away and gazed into my eyes. I felt my heart melt as I turned to straddle him.
"Do you trust me?" he whispered sweetly in my ear.
With a small nod, I responded, "yeah, why?" I did trust him. He cared for me in his own way and stayed by my side when I needed him even when we barely knew each other. I felt protected when I was with him.
"We're going somewhere tonight so be ready for eight," he replied without any further input before continuing to pleasure me.
After our moment, I walked down the halls of the hotel, I straightened out my clothing as I thought about what had happened. It had only recently become a regular occurrence in the past couple of months for us to do it and I had few complaints but today felt off.
I let out a sigh as I clocked in and got on with the day in attempt to distract myself from the bad feeling that brewed inside of me. I wanted my shift to end as soon as possible but I couldn't help but savour the calm before the storm I felt brewing.
I finally finished early in the afternoon. Still feeling uneasy I made my way to the staff cafeteria and sat at a table with an untouched plate of food.
What he said felt so random which spurred on the nervousness I was feeling but I said I trust him so that's what I'll do. I picked at my food for a while before decided to return to the penthouse.
The room was empty. Eisuke must be working still. I walked to my room and found a new dress laying on the bed. I tried it on and looked in the mirror. Every dress he has given me has always fit me perfectly. He always claimed he knew my body best and it was hard to argue when he got the right dress every time.
I tried to pass the time in the best ways possible, thinking of anything that could distract me yet I continued to pace and worry about what was to come.
It'll be fine. I trust him. He hasn't done anything to hurt me in the time I've known him and he's always done what's best. As I continued attempting to walk off my anxiety the door opened and Eisuke walked in. His signature smirk took over his lips as his looked over my body which meant he liked what he saw.
He sauntered over to me and pulled me to his chest. The way he held me felt odd but why? I felt like he clung to me in a way he hadn't before yet his expression said otherwise and played his usual poker face. I tried my best to shake off the nerves before he noticed as we left the penthouse.
We made our way through the hotel and entered a ballroom. This must be the IVC people gush about. My gaze travelled the room and I instinctively grabbed ahold of Eisuke and we travelled further into the party. It all seemed like the normal mingling though. Nothing felt out of the ordinary and I immediately felt foolish for worrying the whole day. Guilt began to fill me as I realised how much I blew this all out of proportion. Eisuke wouldn't do anything wrong. He's always been a good man and I felt foolish for thinking otherwise.
I was finally able to shake the concern that riddled me the whole day and felt my overly tense shoulders relax a little as I held Eisuke's hand.
We continued to mingle before wandering away from the herd of people. I followed in confusion as we made our way to a bar. He spoke to server who welcomed him to some tea party. Puzzled was an understatement as I saw the wall open to reveal a secret elevator. I looked up to Eisuke for answers but he continued to look ahead as he pulled me onwards.
We finally arrived at a room that overlooked a theatre that was filled with a sea of masked guests. On the stage there looked to be a man who was dressed like the mad hatter from Alice in wonderland. I felt muddled as I turned to stare at the other penthouse guests sat in the seat.
Their expressions matched mine before Soryu spoke up. "You brought the woman?"
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Baba questioned.
That feeling of unease returned at I was pulled to a seat and pushed down by Eisuke.
"She needs to find out sooner or later," Eisuke replied. I returned my eyesight to the scene around me trying to piece together what was happening but I just couldn't.
"I'm confused," I said looking to the others for an answer but they all stayed quiet as if I was a fragile piece of glass that would shatter at the slightest word.
"Then pay attention," Eisuke ordered while gesturing to the costumed man on stage. I did as he said and listened to the words that he bellowed out from below. He really had his mad hatter role down.
Just as I thought Eisuke had took me to a play the hatter spoke again and what he said caught me off guard.
A hitman for sale?
I felt my face pale at the words. Hitman as in a person that kills people?
He continues spouting out items for sale as if they were normal but even I knew these things weren't legal. From political information to stolen historical pieces I knew this wasnt good.
"W-why would you bring me here, Eisuke?" I asked in distraught.
"You were bound to find out eventually. I figured it was better to tell you than for you to find out and run your mouth," he replied coldly. "This is the black market auction we manage."
His icy tone left me frozen and I felt my mind spin as a wave of nausea filled me. Why? I thought he was good... I was certain he was. And mother told me to come to him. She sent me to someone who does things like this?
"We?" I thought. Over the past few months I got to know the other guests. Ota was the angelic artist, Baba was a flirty retail worker, Mamoru was a police officer and Soryu was a bodyguard. They all bantered with each other like somewhat normal people. How could they be doing something like this?
They continued to explain to me about what was happening. They all had a role. Baba was a thief, Mamoru a dirty cop and Soryu a mobster.
I felt like I couldn't move. Everything was a lie. I fell in love with Eisuke. I fell in love with a monster.
They did it for fun. They hurt people for fun. They broke the law for fun. They lied to me for fun.
The night was over and I didnt know what to feel. I felt like my mind had left my body and my trust was shattered. Did mother know? Why would she send me here? Why?
My thoughts wouldn't stop spiraling. I didnt want to be here. I felt scared of them. Were they going to hurt me now that I knew?
The thought made me freeze. Eisuke was alone with me and turned with a glare. He called my name but it went right through me as I shuddered in response.
He reached out for me and I backed away from him in fear. Eisuke looked at me, anger and annoyance evident on his face. He tried once more to grab me but I continued to back away. His touch felt like fire in the worst ways possible and the face that I previously loved staring at made me feel sick to my stomach.
Everything felt different.
I turned on my heel and ran out of the hotel. The black sky consumed my fleeing figure. I swiftly kicked off my heels after stumbling out of the entrance and ran. I wanted to go home after all this time. To just lay in my bed and hide from the pain of being deceived this whole time.
My old home soon came into my vision as I continued my retreat. My hands shook as I got the key that was hidden under the welcome mat as I finally slammed the door open and shut behind me. My body fell limp against it as I attempted to catch the breath that finally managed to reach my burning lungs.
However, the shaking didn't come to a halt as I laid eyes on the scene before me. Furniture was thrown haphazardly around and the carpets were torn up. Random objects scattered the floor with a strong stench accompanying it.
I cautiously walked through my home knowing I couldn't go back to the hotel. I didn't have any other options than the street to stay so I continued to sweep through my home in fear. As I cleared one end of the house I breathed out a breath I didnt realise I was holding.
I made my way back from the kitchen to the living room and froze. Three tall figures stood before me. I felt my heart stop as I noticed the weapons in their hands. Why was this all happening? Why me?
Tears burned in my eyes as the intimidating figures made their way towards me. Why were they here of all places?
They laughed at my shaking body, each one stating the horrific things they were going to do to me yet all I did was freeze just like I did previously with the guys.
My heart pounded as my chest tightened. All I could do in this situation was beg for a quick painless death where I would soon join my mother.
I clenched my eyes shut and hoped for the best.

Car Accident - Eisuke Ichinomiya
“bat-yo-us said: If you're up for it how about a scenario where eisuke is at work and having a conversation with mc via phone but something terrible happens when suddenly mc was involved in a car accident. The line didn't cut off and eisuke demand desperately that mc to stay conscious until he gets there. Can you make this really really angsty and ends it with a fluff pretty please. I really love a desperate eisuke”
Today was a very rare day that Eisuke asked Y/N to cook his favourite meal. Usually, Eisuke didn’t mind having chefs cook for him or going out to eat because he had the money for it but, he wanted her cooking. He doesn’t know why but the way she cooks his favourite meal, is tastier than the restaurants. There was a time where Y/N cooked his favourite meal for his birthday and when they celebrated out and ordered his food, he questioned the waiter if the chef changed the recipe. He’s been going to that restaurant for a long time but his favourite food disappointed him that day. Since then, he never asked anyone but Y/N to cook his favourite meal. Maybe he was just being biased but it’s the truth.
Upon hearing Eisuke’s request, Y/N happily accepted it. After her work, she went to the grocery store to buy ingredients. Y/N already checked the fridge this morning and there was a lot that she needed to buy. It wasn’t that hard for her to memorize what she needed to buy because as she thought about cooking for Eisuke she had lots of different ways of cooking his favourite meal.
On her way back Eisuke called her. “Hey, where are you right now?” He asked. “I just finished shopping! I’m on my way back.”
“I can’t wait tonight Y/N. I’ll just be finishing a couple of more paperwork then I’ll be done for the night.”
“Sounds like a plan. Don’t overwork yourself Eisuke.”
The two of them stayed on the phone. As Y/N was waiting for the light to change, people started to shove each other and it caused her to lose her balance. She was pushed towards the intersection when a car came speeding by. The car honked at Y/N but she couldn’t balance herself on time to avoid the car.
“Y/N?!?!? WHAT HAPPENED? HELLO?” Eisuke yelled. He started to panic, he had a bad feeling about this.
He kept screaming for her name but there was no answer. He could only listen to the commotion that just happened, he even heard them say to call the ambulance. One lady mentioned how heartbreaking it is to see a young woman covered in blood.
Eisuke couldn’t handle listening to those comments anymore and rushed to the scene. He dropped everything, he knew that he needed to be there for Y/N. He didn’t know where to start looking but he’ll find another way. But before he could even think where to start there was a phone call coming from Y/N. He picked up right away hoping that she was okay, but to his dismay, she was not.
Eisuke was able to find out which hospital she was in. He tried to calm himself down and hope that this is just a nightmare. The receptionist told Eisuke where to go and he just waited outside the emergency room.
It took hours until the Doctor came out from the emergency room. Eisuke walked up to the Doctor. “How is she?”
“Miss Y/N is stable for now, however, she suffered a few broken bones such as a few broken ribs, fractured elbow and head trauma. We need to do surgery as soon as possible. We’re not sure when she’ll wake up, but-”
A nurse ran out of the emergency room. “DOCTOR WE NEED YOU BACK IN THE ROOM.” Eisuke couldn’t help himself but run towards the room. Y/N was in danger and he knew that. “What’s going on here? Y/N don’t leave me, please! Promise me you’ll fight!” He yelled as the Nurses and Doctors tried to save Y/N. “I’m sorry Sir but you need to leave the room. We need to do our job.” Stated one of the Doctors. “You better do your job right then and save her!”
Eisuke could stay still, not knowing how Y/N was doing in there. He couldn’t help but cry, he prayed for Y/N’s safety cause he didn’t know what to do without her. She was the light and happiness in his dark and lonely life.
Nurses came in and out of the emergency room where Y/N was confined. As much as Eisuke wanted to ask what was going on he didn’t want to interrupt anything. The doctor did mention that she needed surgery and lost a lot of blood during the accident. He connected the dots with a matter of time, it wasn’t that hard but it’s hard for him to think straight when Y/N is involved.
After another three hours of waiting the Doctor once again approached Eisuke. “I apologize for the wait, Sir. We did everything and -”
“No...” He whispered. “This isn’t happening.” More tears rolled down his face. His worst nightmare is about to come true. Eisuke grabbed the Doctors collar, “I thought you were going to save her!”
“Sir if you’d let me finish my sentence before you assume anything that would be great.” Eisuke released the Doctor. “As I was saying, We did everything and the surgery is a success. The patient just needs to get enough rest for a faster recovery and you’ll need to be there for her when she wakes up.”
Eisuke planned on doing that in the first place but right now he wanted to see her as soon as possible. He couldn’t believe that the Doctor had the audacity to give him a scare like that. He really thought he was going to lose Y/N.
Days have passed and Y/N was still lying on the bed, Eisuke couldn’t wait until she opens her eyes. He would bring his work to the hospital and would ask Soryu every now and then if he could look after her for a while.
Eisuke rushed to the hospital and cancelled all his meetings when he got a call from Soryu saying that Y/N is finally awake. Upon his arrival, he tried not to hug her because he knows that she had a few broken bones. It was hard for him to restrain himself but he had to do what he needed to do during that time to help her recover. “You don’t know how happy I am to see you Y/N. I was worried sick after the accident.” He caressed her hair. “Sorry Eisuke, I wasn’t able to cook your favourite meal and I was being clumsy as usual on the way back. I didn’t mean to have you waste your time taking care of me in the hospital.” She smiled weakly at him. “Let’s not worry about that right now. Focus on your fast recovery and then once you’re better we can cook together. How does that sound?”
“That sounds perfect.”
Eisuke took care of Y/N until she was discharged from the hospital and he kept his promise of cooking together once she was better. Ever since the accident, he would ask her to wait for him so that the two of them can go grocery shopping together. He didn’t want Y/N to end up in the hospital again and at least then, he gets to spend time with her.

Soryu Oh -Bully Me (Part 2)
Okay so I’m back again. Here’s a part 2.
This is a mix of two different requests.
One person who wanted a part two and a prompt-list request.
28- Shhh, be quiet. We can’t be too loud, babe.
69- Bend over this counter. I need to fill you up.
98- Sometimes it’s nice to just stargaze. It calms me down a lot.
101- Hm…why don’t you sit on my lap and tell me what you want.
110- That’s daddy to you, sweetheart.
READ PART 1 HERE
Leggo.
...
You’re gonna let me bully you ....
And bully you, he did.
Pressed up against the cold wall of his room completely bare, Soryu held your frail body in his arms. His lips feverishly claimed yours.
You work uniform was tossed who-knows-where and you undergarments were just random masses of fabric at this point.
“S-soryu! I have to get back to work.” you tried to express. He, who had been frantic, laughed in response.
“Not a chance. You’re mine today, maid.” he snarled playfully. He undid his tie and slung it around your neck, fastening it into his signature Full Windsor knot. You were now wearing nothing but a silk lavender neck tie. The way he called you that name. Maid...it made you feel so dirty.
“Maid.”
Soryu had gotten your attention. He was now sitting on the edge of his bed. He was leaned back, propped up on one arm. “Get over here.”
You could only smile. Every day since that incident he hadn’t gone back on his word. He etched his mark on every area of your skin in the form of bruises and bites. You quickly made your way over, only to have your forbidden lover trace his fingertips up your sides.
“Hm...Why don’t you sit on my lap,” he began, pausing to drink in your innocence. “And tell me what you want.”
Before you could answer. a harsh rapping against the door startled you both.
“AYE, SORYU. WHERE’S THE MAID!?” Baba’s voice called from the other side.
As if reading your mind, Soryu grabbed your arm. No way was he letting you put your clothes back onto clean up after whatever mess his accomplice made. In another swift motion, Soryu’s crisp dark grey blazer was wrapped around you.
You heard the door swing open and you felt your heard drop. You felt him crash his hot mouth over yours. The way his bed was angled, who ever walked in would be able to see your side profiles. So when Baba walked in, he was welcomed by a gun faces the door. His free hand firmly held you by the back of your head, still claiming your kiss, tongue and all.
“Woah!!” Baba couldn’t comprehend what he was looking at. You, the main were ass naked, on Soryu. The mobster broke the kiss, a thin line of saliva coming between you. He turned his head to glare at the intruder.
“Leave before I blow your head off.” he snapped.
“Damn. And here I thought you were a stiff. Nice legs Y/N.” Baba winked before Soryu could consider actually shooting his ‘friend’. The door slammed again and you could only sigh.
“I should go. I still have to clean Mr. Ichinomyia’s room.” you begrudgingly stood up and walked over to your uniform. You would just have to go without your bra and panties.
“I’m gonna kill him.” he sighed. “Come back later?”
“Mr.Oh...you know as well as I our relationship is purely professional.” you sauntered past him. Ever since then, you had gotten bold. Very bold.
He loved it.
“Damnit, Y/N...you’re killing me.”
...
You were exhausted. You had been dodging those damn bidders all day. It was unbearable. It was nightfall by the time you had finished everything. You threw the mop down, wishing you could snap it in half.
You didn’t know what it was, but you were content with yourself when you used your keycard to go to Soryu’s penthouse floor. You were sure he was asleep anyways but it was worth checking.
When the elevator doors opened, you saw Soryu standing by the balcony. “Mr. Oh?”
The usually collected man turned in surprise. “Y/N! What are you doing here?”
“I was finished with my work. Just thought I’d let you know before I head home. “ you pulled the excuse out of your ass. “You’re still awake?”
“Yes. Sometimes it’s nice to just stargaze. It calms me down a lot. “  he shrugged. “Especially being around those morons....Come here.” He shut the curtains behind him and you took a step forward. The elevator doors shut behind you. “Did any of them mess with you?”
“...Baba told Ota about our little meeting.” you hugged yourself, suddenly feeling cold. “Didn’t let me hear the end of it.”
“I thought as much.” he sighed. “I’m gonna kill those two! Did they touch you?”
You instantly shook your head, which made him smile. “Good, come here. I’m glad I wasn’t there, I probably would have done something to you right in front of them...”
“Oh...Like what?” you asked, tilting your head to the side. With another smirk, he marched up to you, reaching under your skirt to rest one of his hands on your ass. “You’re still not wearing any...”
“I didn’t have time to change.”
There was darkness in his eyes. His normally stone cold expression was replaced by something you couldn’t read. He raised his arm slighting and held his finger out to the kitchen counter, his free hand unlacing his tie.”
“You’re going to bed over, hike that skirt up, and hold your arms behind your back.”
“Mr. Oh...” you breathed feeling your insides twist.
“That’s daddy to you, sweetheart. “

Eisuke - Valentine's Day (Highschool AU)
Summary: Today is Valentine's day and Homura is trying to give the man she likes the chocolate she made. Will she succeed?
Eisuke: Homura is walking down the hall holding a box of chocolate in her hands. She was about to take another step when she noticed a heart shaped box on the ground. There was no one there except for the boy who was about to turn to a corner. Homura immediately picked up the heart shaped box and called out to the boy.
“Excuse me! I think you dropped this!” She ran after the boy. The young man turned and shocked to see the heart box.
“Oh thank you very much! I guess I didn't realize that it slipped from my bag” he says and bowed to her. He took the chocolate and on cue Eisuke saw how the man took the chocolate from Homura's hand.
“Thanks again!” The man said and waved goodbye. Eisuke's brows furrowed and turn his back on them.
Later in the classroom...
Homura waited for Eisuke. The chocolate is now in her bag. She's getting nervous and afraid that he may not accept them. When Eisuke entered the room girls immediately hurried over him and give him chocolates. He accepted them all with a smile. Strange because he normally don't accept chocolates during Valentine's.
She stood up and went to him and offered her chocolate. Eisuke stared at it and then crossed his arms with a smirk.
“Won't accept it” he said and the other girls started laughing. Homura feeling embarrassed immediately left the room. She saw a trashcan and angrily threw the chocolates. She sat at a nearby bench when someone approached her.
“Sakamura-san. Class representative's meeting” she stood up and followed her classmate. “looks like I'm going home late again”
Back at the classroom Eisuke stared outside and saw the man that Homura gave chocolates. He frowned and saw a girl from his class walked up to the man. They were talking loudly and he was close to the door so he heard them.
“Saito-kun did you received the chocolates?” asked the girl.
“Yup” the man named Saito raised his hand holding the box that he saw Homura giving him.
“Thank you again Nakumi. I actually dropped this. Luckily a girl picked it up”
Eisuke was shocked to hear that. So Homura only picked it up? She wasn't giving chocolates to other guys? This made him feel happy yet guilty.
....
The meeting ended longer so when it was time to go home, the sun is almost setting. Homura sighed. She still is thinking about the chocolates that she threw. “I should've just ate it instead of throwing it away”
She looked up when she saw someone leaning in one of the lockers in the main entrance of the school.
“Ichinomiya-san?” she called out and Eisuke looked at her.
“Your slow... Hand them over” he said showing her his palm.
“Hand what over?”
“Chocolates”
She stared at him.
“Too late, I already threw them away” she said crossing her arms.
“What? Why would you do that?” He asked looking annoyed.
“Well you rejected them didn't you? And why are you making a big deal. Didn't you recieved tons of chocolate alread---HEY WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA?!” Homura yelled as Eisuke grabbed her wrist and dragged her out.
“Let's go. You still need to make me chocolates” he said not stopping.
“Wha? Didn't you reject them? And also you have tons of chocolates already” he stopped and faced her. He gave her a plastic containing many chocolates.
“They're all yours” Homura looked at him confused. Why would he give her these and then proceed to demand her to make him chocolates.
“Also, I don't want any of that. I only want your chocolates”

Trash to Treasure - Eisuke Ichinomiya x reader
Chapter One
Chapter 2 3 4
This is angsty at first but gets better in the end I guess. Ignore any errors :)
TW: Contains death at the start and some dark and possibly depressing thoughts at some points.
My feet pounded against the ground and my lungs burned and ached at the lack of oxygen I was getting. I looked like I had lost my mind due to the mascara that made it way down my cheeks.
Please be okay!
The hospital soon filled my vision. The sprint there felt like decades yet it was only a few minutes. Ambulances lines the outside of the large building. I legged it through the automatic doors which I almost ran into from how slow they opened. I scanned the room for the main desk before swiftly making my way over and spitting out my mothers name. After receiving the information I needed to find her I made my way deeper into the labyrinth of a hospital.
My eyes glazed at every name plate outside the patient rooms before I finally recogniced my own last name. I shoved the door open and the tears that had barely stopped started again.
'She could die. Please dont die. I need you. Please, you're all I have.' My thoughts were wordless as the sobbing that echoed from me suppressed any words that tried to escape me.
I dropped beside her bed holding her hand. Her body was pale and skin clammy. My once strong mother who stood tall before me was lying lifeless in front of my own eyes and I couldn't handle it. More tears raced down my face and I could bare the sight so seeing her like this.
"Y/n?"
Her voice was quiet and hoarse. My heartstrings tugged as I struggled to look at her.
"Ma, please you cant die," I pleaded as if she could do something about her condition but the sad truth was that she couldn't.
"You're a strong girl, I know you'll be fine," she said with a sad smile.
"Dont say that. I need you, ma, please," I begged once more. "I swear I'll make whoever did this to you pay!" I cried harder at the thought. They're recklessness was about to take away the only person I had left away from me.
"They've suffered enough, y/n. I want you to focus on carrying out my will," she said softly.
"No! I wont. You cant die so I dont have to carry out your will. You'll live... please just live," I trailed off as more warm droplets fell from my bloodshot eyes.
My dear y/n,
Everything went blurry with my vision and before I knew it I had lost all of my family as I lay numbly in my bed for the 4th day straight. I stared at my mothers will, blankets wrapped around my body like a burrito.
If you're reading this it means I've passed on to my next life. I wish I could stay with you forever but unfortunately it was never going to be possible for me to do so. As alone as you feel right now you're not. Go the the address on the other side of the letter and look for Eisuke Ichinomiya then tell him you're my daughter. I love you more than life itself my darling daughter, please dont let me dying ruin you. You're filled with potential so flourish and I know you can improve the life of many despite the challenges you've faced and continue to face.
Love, mum.
I barely wanted to exist. I didnt want to feel this pain. Why did she have to leave? I wanted to give up. The thoughts spiraled more and more. My eyes watered once more but before the tears fell a vibration brought me out of my darkness. I shook the thoughts away as I stared at the phone that I had buzzed with a notification from the news app; some celeb got engaged. Life goes on despite my misery. People were out there moving forward, living life and being happy.
Only then had I realised what I had come to. I was spiraling and didnt realise it despite how obviously my will had given out. I couldn't carry out the most simple of tasks. The thought of my mother seeing me like this hurt me more than words could describe.
I cant let her down or hurt her. She put so much effort into helping me. Throwing it all away and betraying her will would break me. The only thing she wanted was for me to be happy. She was never selfish and I need to carry this task out.
I dragged my body out of bed and slowly made my way to the shower. Gagging at the stench that had developed over the past days, I stripped and got dressed. The only thing keeping me going was the motivation to carry out my mothers wishes. It didnt seem like a lot but it was enough to get me ready for day that was to come.
Before I knew it I was squinting at the bright light that bombarded my sight as I left the house where my mother and I used to reside happily.
After adjusting to the light I plugged in my earphones and followed the directions on my phone while repeating my motives for this mission.
Before I knew it I stood in front of a luxurious hotel. I suddenly felt under dressed and small in comparison to the fancy people walking with their head held high in the grand lobby. This place was high end and I had no idea how or why my mother would send me to a place like this. Maybe the address is wrong. However, come to think of it Ichinomiya did sound familiar. I doubt she could know anyone famous though. She would have bragged about it non stop surely. She wouldn't play some sick prank on me either, would she? No, I trust her. This must be the right place.
An aggressive throat clearing caught my attention. A tall brunette stood before my with glaring hazel eyes.
"Is there a reason your in front of my hotel?" He practically growled. If looks could kill I would be with my mother in the next life right now.
"S-sorry. I'm just looking-" before I could finish my sentence he had moved on but before he left he ensured to tell me to stop littering in front of his hotel. Littering? Did he just call me trash?!
"Stuck up bitch," I mumbled loud enough for only me to hear. I turned back to the hotel questioning whether to go in at this point especially after getting insulted by the owner himself.
Weighing the pro and cons in my head I was once again disrupted by this time by my stomach rumbling. I had barely eaten the past few days from grief and it I definitely didnt intend on looking for someone I didnt even know on an empty stomach. With that I wandered to the nearest cafe and ordered something to eat and drink.
As I sat down with my food, I started planning how to tackle this as the name Ichinomiya resurfaced in my mind. Why was it familiar?
Did I go to school with an Ichinomiya? I dont think I did. So I did what any other person would do.
I pulled my phone out as I sipped my drink every now and again. My fingers tapped away quickly into the google search bar. Several results came up. The words billionaire and CEO came up on my screen. Why the hell did ma tell me to look for this dude? Well maybe he wont be that hard to find I thought as I checked the images while taking one final sip of my drink. The pictures loaded and the liquid that was previously in my mouth now scattered the walls. Several eyes glanced and glared at me yet their judgement meant nothing compared to the man I saw on my screen.
Looks like I already found Eisuke Ichinomiya and I dont think we were fond of each other in the slightest.

Trash to Treasure - Eisuke Ichinomiya x reader
Chapter Two
Chapter 1 3 4
After awkwardly cleaning up after myself I shuffled out the cafe with my head down.
Why would my mother send me to meet with someone like him? Based on our encounter i was ready to just bury that first impression and forget it all happened, however, my commitment to following through that will was unbreakable.
Letting out a sigh I continued my way to the hotel. This wasn't going to be easy.
I was soon greeted by the sight of the grand hotel before me and nervously gulped as I shuffled in. I made my way over to the front desk but before I could even get a word in the staff member beat me to speaking.
"I'm sorry but if you dont have a reservation then I'm going to have to ask you to leave. I would be happy to give you directions, though," she passive aggressively beamed. I guess I stuck out more than I thought.
"I'm actually here to see Eisuke Ichinomiya," I replied sheepishly. However I definitely didnt look important enough.
"Hes a busy man. You'll have to come back with an appointment."
"Okay... thank you." I turned around as any hope I could have had drained straight out of me. Its wasn't likely for him to just agree to meet someone like me for no actual reason so my only hope was for our paths to meet again which was something that I had to make happen. I didnt have a choice.
I glanced at my phone noticing it was still relatively early in the afternoon. Maybe I could just stake out the hotel in hopes of him leaving but he had hardly returned a couple of hours ago. I didnt really have much else to do today and I guess the vitamin D would be good for me after spending days in bed. I began searching my surroundings for a place to stake out. Sitting on the stairs would most likely result in hotel security being called on me so a wall to the side of the hotel was my best bet.
I settled on the the sturdy brick wall and let my thoughts wonder while my gaze stayed fixated on the hotel entrance I saw him enter earlier in the least suspicious way possible.
Time passed by without me realising and just as orange began to tint the blue sky a familiar head of brown hair filled my vision. My chest tightened as I launched off the wall not paying attention to anything other than the man I had been waiting for.
"Mr Ichinomiya! Wait!" I called out. The random outburst likely caught the attention of several people but I only cared about capturing the attention of one man. He turned to me as a scowl swiftly carved into his features at the 'trash' that he had previously scolded. Without a second thought he turned away once more and continued on into his limo. Only once he had left my sight did I notice the tall, raven haired man nearing me. He adorned a grey suit and a similar expression to Mr Ichinomiyas played on his features.
Is that his security? I may be slightly screwed. I didnt think I seemed like a threat and I certainly wasn't one. On top of that I had to get to that man for my mothers sake.
As the adrenaline surged through my body, I felt so much new energy and strength fill me. My feet hit the ground harder than they ever had before as ducked away from the body guard looking dude and threw myself at Eisuke's limo window. My fists hit the tinted glass as I begged him to open the window but to no avail.
"Will you just listen to me? I'm not crazy, I promise! My mother (mother name) told me-"
Before I could utter another word I felt my body get plucked away from the window as muscular arms tightly wrapped around me, stealing any breath I had. I flailed like a mad woman as I was being dragged away from the scene and away from my target. The limo began to speed away taking my hopes with it. The day was wasted and with the scene I caused Eisuke probably already got a restraining order on me. I really didnt think this through.
"Please let me go, I need to talk to Eisuke," I pleaded with the man. However, my pleas were met with silence. A phone rang out which he swiftly answered. Even holding me with one hand I could tell I wasn't getting out of this one. The man glared down at me while listening to the caller who quickly ended the call. A sigh left his lips as he rubbed his temple with his free hand.
"Come with me," he mumbled as he loosened his grip; not enough for me to escape but enough to relieve the pain. I nodded my head slightly before following after him sadly with my head down. When I finally looked up I noticed the interior design was similar to the hotel but this definitely wasn't the front entrance and there were significantly less people. This just screamed trouble. A nerve wracking feeling consumed me and this situation just screamed legal issues were coming my way.
I was tugged into an elevator and watched as the dark haired man swiped a key card. The silence that we were already sharing became a lot more awkward in the confined space as the small metal box travelled to the top of the hotel. I wasn't going to lie the view looked magnificent but this definitely wasn't the situation to stare in awe.
A ding echoed out as the doors slid open as a grand lounge met my gaze. The view before was good but the intricate atmosphere of the room before me somehow put it to shame. An elegant chandelier revealed every detail of the room which just screamed wealth.
My feet carefully stepped across the floor as if just my existence alone brought down the value of every pricey item that filled mansion sized room.
"Sit," the gruff voice of the bodyguard ordered while gesturing to a sofa that most definitely costed more than triple my house. Despite my hesitation to taint the furniture I knew not complying would result in more trouble for me.
"You'll stay there until further notice." I looked at the man as he sat on the sofa. "I hope you understand there'll be a lot of trouble for you if you dont comply," he added. I nodded in response before looking at my hands.
I know my mother wanted me to find Eisuke Ichinomiya but I doubt she would be proud of me right now. I dont even know what's going to happen to me. Am I going to talk to Eisuke personally or is he going to bring a lawyer or something and get me thrown in the slammer? This situation is atrocious. I just want to be with my mother and go back to normal but that was impossible now and the thought ached my heart. I bit my lip to hold back tears as the thought significantly brought down my mood which wasn't so great in the first place. I didnt have a normal anymore, did I? And itll be even worse if i get arrested.
I definitely was going to struggle with the normal that Eisuke Ichinomiya was going to throw my way, that's for sure.

Trash to Treasure - Eisuke Ichinomiya x reader
Chapter 3
Chapter 1 2 4
It felt like days since I had first arrived in the fancy room yet the ticking clock on the wall said otherwise. The bodyguard was busy typing away on a laptop with furrowed brows. He would spare a glance at me every now and again but otherwise his sight stayed glued to the screen.
In the few hours I had been here two other men had shown up. The tense atmosphere didnt hold up for long with them around as they greeted me in the least serious way possible and joked around with each other while introducing themselves.
"Sor, I didnt think I'd ever find you alone with a pretty lady like this," the one in a red jacket said while nudging him slightly before turning to me. "You can call me Baba, pretty lady," he beamed with a wink. He was definitely a strange man and I didnt hesitate to move away slightly as I eyed him suspiciously. The small gesture of discomfort caused the other man to laugh at Baba as he pouted in rejection. However, it didnt take him long to recover and move closer to me.
"So what do you see in Sor then?" he questioned me while wiggling my eyebrows. Thankfully, I didnt have to reply before Sor dragged him away from me and out of the room with the other man. I couldn't help but silently thank whatever god sent him my way to save me from the situation. Eventually the Sor guy returned alone thankfully and the silence from before the clowns came had returned as well.
More time ticked by yet before I knew it the familiar sound of the elevator opening filled the room and out sauntered a familiar face. My hopes were high as my heart began to pound before I remembered my random, crazy act before and realised this most likely wasn't going to go well. The good thing is that he didnt have a lawyer with him so maybe I wasnt going to end up in prison.
Sor finally looked up to Eisuke who pulled out his phone as he made his way to the sofa. "Come to the lounge and bring Mamoru," he ordered before ending the call without wasting a second of his precious time. He continued over to the raven haired male who showed him his laptop screen. Eisuke's eyes swiftly scanned whatever was on the screen before looking at me. Oh boy.
Just as I gulped and anxiety flooded me, the two clowns from before returned with a sleepy looking man who I'm assuming is the Mamoru that Eisuke ordered to come here. They all sat on the sofas as I felt the breath from my lungs leave. Why did Eisuke want so many people here? Maybe they were his legal team which would mean I was in deep trouble.
The thought made my hands clammy. All I wanted was to carry out my mothers will yet the day just couldn't go as planned and here I was surrounded by men who would most likely change my life. Its moments like this where i would go to my mother for support, comfort and advice but none of it was on the table anymore and I was alone in this world. Eisuke wasnt pleaded in the slightest at me just standing outside his hotel so imagining how he would respond to me acting like a wacko lady and causing a scene sent a shiver down my spine.
As I continued dreading the potential future that was going to be thrown my way they talked among themselves. Even if I was paying attention their voices were hushed enough that it would have been loud enough for me to hear; not that I wanted to hear it though.
"So you're mother is (mother name)?" Eisuke's voice pulls me from my dark thoughts. After processing his question I nodded hesitantly.
"You knew her?" I asked. It didnt click that Eisuke would have known my mother and I didnt really know anyone else who knew her so he would be the first person who I could talk to about her.
"Knew?" he questioned.
Before I could talk, I felt like a pile of bricks had been dropped on me. I hadn't said it out loud yet. I bit my lip as my eyes stung from the familiar heat of tears. I blinked them back as I questioned if I wanted to say it. It was real if I said it. I spent days feeling numb on my own before throwing myself into finding Eisuke so I never got to come to terms with the cold, hard truth.
"She... died," I mumbled back in response. Those two words not only confirmed that she was gone but also dragged a dull atmosphere into the room as a short silence followed suit. My heart ached and I could sense the look of pity on one or two of the mens faces and I hated it so for my sake I tried to move the conversation on.
I took a deep breath to soothe myself and forced the tears back before speaking. "That's why I wanted to talk to you, Mr Ichinomiya," I said as I turned toward him. His brows knitted together in thought as I awkwardly waited in response.
After what felt like the longest few seconds he finally turned towards the other men. "Her safety is to take top priority. Get ready for the meeting for when I'm back," he ordered as he got up and walked towards me. "You, with me," he barked and left before I could respond.
"Where are we going?" I asked but followed anyway despite knowing our destination like a loyal dog.
"Your room. My girlfriend should stay in my penthouse after all," he replied but the answer only fueled my confusion.
"I dont have a room here, I cant afford it. Plus what do I have to do with your girlfriend?" I quizzed yet was only greeted with silence. I turned to the others and noticed the clowns laughing at my confusion. Was it that obvious? I thought over the phrase before it clicked.
"Wait, you mean me?! I'm the girlfriend?" His only response was silence as I was practically running after him to catch up with his long, quick strides. Cold much. After chasing after him we finally arrived in a lounge that felt a little more homely yet still as sophisticated as the room I was in prior.
"Y-you didnt... answer... me back there," I huffed out of breath.
"I shouldn't ask questions you already know the answer to. You'll be staying in the guest room. Dont leave the penthouse without my permission. If you leave then I trust you know what trouble will be waiting for you and if I call you better answer immediately."
"You dont even have my number," I said confused, however, my phone buzzed with a message from an unknown number.
"The only replied I should get from you are yes and okay," he half scolded while putting his phone away and nodding his head in the direction of a door. "That's your room."
Without another word he turned on his heel and went back the way we came. That was short and quick. My brain was baffled by the past week's events. I felt foolish for expecting answers as I stood in the lounge all on my own.
Sighing I turned around and walked towards what would be my new room. None of this sat right with me but it was what my mother wanted so I had no choice but to go through with it and trust that she knew what she was doing when she sent me Eisuke's way even if Eisuke was a bit of a dick.
I closed the door to the room behind me as I scanned over the room. It was as elegant as every other room in the hotel but one thing stuck out to me; my things. Why were they here and how? I shuffled through everything to confirm it was mine and after doing so I stared in shock.
Did he do this in the time I was sat with that bodyguard? How would he have been able to find my address then transport it all here? The bad feeling in my gut only worsened as I felt things were going to go downhill with me knowing these people. Not to mention the fact that he's keeping me here and I didnt even have a say in it. The pile of bricks from before hit me ten times harder as I tried to hold onto faith that my mother would keep me from harm's way.
I sat on the bed as the darkness of the night consumed me just like my thoughts did. Surely I was safe, right? Mother would never put me on harm's way. I continued to try and justify what was happening and before I knew it my eyes were opening to the harsh rays of the sun. I guess I fell asleep at some point last night.
I rubbed the sleep from my eyes as everything came flooding back to me while my gaze wandered around the room, focusing on my things that mysteriously appeared here. As I pulled my body out of bed I noticed the view of Tokyo. The view was breathtaking and looked like something I would never be able to afford even if I saved up five lifetimes. I felt like I was in a trance as I soaked in the modern scenery and ant sized people.
A knock from the door echoed through the otherwise silent room. I turned as the door swung open to reveal a maid in a blue uniform dress that bowed down to me slightly. "Good afternoon Miss L/n. It's time for your appointments. I've been requested to show you to them," she stated as she raised her head to me.
"Appointments? Afternoon?" I seriously overslept.
"Yes. Mr Ichinomiya is waiting for you. He's a busy man as you know. We must hurry," she replied while eyeing my day old, wrinkled clothing. I'm guessing these wont do for his standards.
As I scurried to the bathroom to get dress I wondered about the appointments the maid was going on about. I dont remember being told about any but yesterday is kind of a blur but I did remember him telling me that leaving him waiting would lead to trouble for me so I hurried along and reappeared in front of the maid.
"Ready? We must be quick," the maid said, leaving the room before I could even answer. Do I get a say with anyone in this hotel or am I just a doormat?
We soon arrived in front of an empty boutique. I turned to the maid with a quizzical look but all she did was stand by the door gesturing for me to go in. Eyeing the empty shop suspiciously, I pushed the clean glass door open and looked around in curiosity before my gaze landed on the one and only Eisuke Ichinomiya.
"You're late," he scolded. His brows were furrowed as he looked down at me in disapproval. "Try these on," he ordered. He jerked his head in the direction of several tracks of dresses as confusion took over me slightly.
"Which ones?"
He scoffed in return and as I looked at him I just managed to see him roll his eyes at me. Wasnt he supposed to be my boyfriend? Does he not know that definition of boyfriend or is this how he treats every woman?
"All of them obviously."
My jaw almost dropped in shock as I stared at all the dresses. He wanted me to try all of them on? This was going to be a long day and it was already way into the afternoon.

Argument And Amends - Eisuke Ichinomiya
“bat-yo-us said: How about a scenario where mc and eisuke are having an argument because eisuke constantly overworked himself and not getting any real rest and he went back to work with bitterness. Feeling worried, mc decides to make ammend but something terrible happens when someone tries to kill eisuke but at the last minute mc turn the table around and takes the blow instead. Can you make this angsty please and ends it with a fluff”
A/N: I wrote a similar headcanon to this and if you want to read it, it’s called “KBTBB: Fight and Make Up”
“Eisuke, how many times do I have to tell you that you need to take care of yourself? Take a break sometimes will you?” Y/N was full of worries. She just wanted Eisuke to take a break from his work from time to time or else it’ll affect his health. Y/N hated it when Eisuke would refuse to take a break and he hated how she’d nag him about it.
“Are we seriously going to argue about this again Y/N? For the last time just leave me alone, I can take care of myself. Now stop nagging me, will you? You’re giving me a headache.” He rubbed his temples and walked towards his office leaving Y/N in the lounge.
Y/N was annoyed that Eisuke would say hurtful words like that, is it that bad to care and worry about the one you love? Y/N was angry at him and stomped away from the lounge to go back to work.
Eisuke, on the other hand, was also annoyed that his significant other cared too much. He’s been doing this for a long time even when you two weren’t together, so what’s the difference? He’ll be fine.
A few hours have passed and the two of them continued to focus on their work. Eisuke had a guest coming in to make a business deal with him. He paged Y/N up to attend to him and his guest. Although Y/N didn’t want to do it due to their fight, she needed to do this for her work, no personal feelings.
Y/N made coffee for Eisuke and his guest. She stood near Eisuke as if she was his secretary. She had no choice but listen to the deal happening between two businessmen. Y/N could tell that the man didn’t like Eisuke’s condition. “Mister Ichinomiya don’t you think that’s a bit unfair?”
“With all your respect, you’re the one who came to me for this business deal and I’m not happy with it. I managed to think about how your company will be beneficial for mine and you’re telling me that it’s unfair?” Eisuke smirked. “Look, if you don't want the deal then that’s fine, I have other offers from different companies that would love to collaborate with mine.” Eisuke stood up from his seat and walked away from the businessman.
“Typical Eisuke Ichinomiya. If that’s what you think then I might as well kill you now!” The man pulled a gun out from his pocket and pointed at Eisuke. Just before the man pulled the trigger Y/N went in front of Eisuke and became his shield.
The gunshot was deafening in the penthouse. Eisuke turned around to see his significant other on the ground bleeding. “Y/N!” He turned towards the man. “You have no idea what you’ve done. If something happens to her, you’re going to pay it with your own life.”
The man shivered in fear and couldn’t move from his spot. Luckily Mamoru was scheduled to meet with Eisuke today and was able to arrest the man who shot Y/N.
Eisuke rushed Y/N to the hospital and he wasn’t sure what to do. He didn’t understand why Y/N protected him like that even after arguing with him in the morning. He ruffled his hair with frustration, how could he let something like this happen to you? He should be the one protecting you and not the other way around.
The operation went well. They were able to take the bullet out and the Doctor mentioned that Y/N will be fine. Eisuke let out a relieved sigh upon hearing the good news. He knew then that he needed to apologize to Y/N the moment she woke up. He stayed with her until she opened her eyes.
Y/N groggily opened her eyes and saw Eisuke sleeping. “So now you’ve decided to take a rest huh.” She whispered. She was about to stroke his head when Eisuke woke up. “Sorry did I wake you up? I’m sorry about this morning.” She apologized. Before she could even continue to apologize about what happened in the morning, there was a rush of adrenaline that circulated through Eisuke.
“Y/N!” He stood up and crashed his lips on hers. “Thank goodness you’re awake. The Doctors said you’ll be fine if you rest and I just want to apologize for this morning. I know how worried you must feel about me not getting enough rest and I promise you, next time I’ll listen. I don’t want to fight with you ever again, will you forgive me?”
“Hmmm... I’ll think about it.” She smiled. “I’ll only forgive you if you get plenty of rest now.” She teased.
Within moments Eisuke climbed into the bed with Y/N, “Eisuke what are you doing?”
“What? You told me to get some rest and that’s what I’m doing. Do you really think I’ll be able to sleep without you by my side?”
“Smooth one Eisuke. Whatever do what you want but if the Doctor or Nurses kicks you out, you’ll have to go home.”
“Tsk. I’d like to see them try and kick me out.” Eisuke mumbled causing Y/N to laugh.

She’s Mine - Eisuke Ichinomiya
“ashleysmith28 said: Can you do kbtbb eisuke fanfic where he is on trip with mc and some guy flirts with her fluffly moment at the end plese. Love you and love your writing 😘❤”
A short business trip to London was all it took for Eisuke to have Y/N all to himself. Thinking about getting some alone time with Y/N at this time of the years which is Christmas season. There was a smile forming on his ever so expressionless face but quickly covered it up and tried to hide it because he knew that if the other bidders caught him, he would not hear the end of it. He knew from the past to never ever smile when he’s around the other bidders. Eisuke would only smile for one person, and that is Y/N. The flight from Japan to London was long but it wasn’t bad. However ever since Y/N and Eisuke landed, he was in a sour mood. Eisuke’s business partner ordered one of his trusted employees to accompany the two of you in your travel to London. Eisuke didn’t like the matter of the man getting close to you even though Eisuke knew that he was just doing his job. Eisuke let out a hiss under his breath and hoped that this trip would soon be done. Y/N was overjoyed at the scenery that she was seeing. As Y/N was gawking at their surroundings that man was acting as a tour guide telling Y/N the landmarks or statues that they pass by. He even suggested the best places to visit here as a tourist. “How far are we from the company? Your Boss and I are busy men and I’m sure he’d like to get this meeting over with.” Eisuke snarled. Y/N nudged him, “Eisuke don’t be rude.” Y/N whispered. Eisuke ignored Y/N’s warning and glanced at the window. He thought about where he would take her in London after the business meeting. The meeting shouldn’t take that long considering they were just going over the proposal that they’ve agreed upon and after that, he would have Y/N all to himself. It only took a few minutes for them to arrive at the company. Eisuke didn’t waste any time and got out of the car the moment that the car stopped. He walked towards the elevator but walking was an understatement when Y/N had to run just to catch up with Eisuke. “Eisuke wait up!” Y/N ran towards her boyfriend and almost tripped when Makoto, the trusted employee caught her before she fell. This only angered Eisuke more, he just wanted to get this meeting over with so he could spend time with Y/N.
“Thanks, but I can take care of my own girlfriend.” Eisuke pulled Y/N away from Makoto’s grasp.
On the way up from the elevator Eisuke held her hand not letting her out of his sight. Eisuke’s been really good at opening his feelings to Y/N lately and he even told her what was bothering him. “I really don’t like it when other guys look at you or flirt with you. I even made it clear that you’re my girlfriend and not just someone to accompany from this business trip.” He was really frustrated and he couldn’t help but kiss Y/N in the elevator. He didn’t care if there were other employees staring at them.
The meeting went according to plan. Everything went smooth, the pitch of the company was strong. It was strong enough to impress Eisuke and that says a lot. Despite the fact that Makoto was basically flirting with Y/N during the meeting, he kept his cool. “Thank you for this meeting but in case no one got the memo...” He looked over at Y/N and kissed her in front of many board members. “This woman is mine. Got it Makoto.” There was a triumphant smile on his face. Y/N felt so embarrassed after. In the car, Eisuke acted like a spoiled child wanting your attention.
“You owe it all to me for flirting with that guy. Plus I have something for you when we get to your hotel. Let’s just say you’ll be mine tonight and no one will bother us.” The look he gave Y/N was quite dangerous as if she knew what was going to happen tonight.

Soryu Oh- Bully Me
VOLTAGE FANDOM WHERE YOU AT! Also who here has the Love 365 app? i need to know I’m not lonely lol.
A person sent me a chat message but asked to remain anon, I forgot to screenshot, my bad.
Leggo.
...
Just make it to the door, make it to the door. Almost there!
You made a beeline from the front desk to the doors. If you were able to avoid those damned bidders, you could finally have some time to breathe. Those assholes always had something for you to do. Whether it be washing dirty underwear, or doing something stupid like polishing picture frames for three hours straight.
“Come on, come on!” you sped up even more. “Almost there-”
“There you are!”
DAMNIT! So close.
You froze midstep, hearing Baba’s familiar voice call out to you. He came onto your field of vision, wearing that mischievous smile you detested. He was planning something.
“Um, H-hello.” you straightened up abruptly, staring down at your shoes. “I was just about to-”
“Leave? But why? You have duties to attend to, maid.” he tapped your nose with his finger as if you were a child being told you were silly.
“I just clocked out.” You began to explain. “Plus I’m off for the rest of the day.”
“All the more reason to jump on tomorrow’s work.” he grabbed your wrist and began walking towards the elevator. “Plus, I’m sure the other men will have jobs for you to complete as well.”
“Of course they do.” you sighed in defeat, allowing him to pull you along. Leave it to them to not be able to do anything by themselves. It was almost like they loved torturing you.
You made it to the top floors, still in Baba’s grasp as he walked out. “Look who I found trying to sneak off!”
“Now, Koro. Why would you want to avoid us?” Ota walked out the kitchen to greet you two.
“My name isn’t Koro!” you snapped in reply. You instantly covered your mouth with your other hand. The first rule of working for these guys was to never speak without being spoken to first, and especially not outburst.
“Seems as if, Maid  hasn’t learned the rules yet,” Baba laughed gleefully. Glad to know he as entertained by all this. You, on the other hand were mortified. Damnit, Y/N. You’ve been doing this for years, get it together!
“Do you think she needs to be punished?” Ota questioned, smiling.
“Hey idiots, leave her alone.” another voice made its presence known. Soryu came out of the elevator, looking like usual aloof and angry self. “I don’t know why you insist on being so childish but do it elsewhere.” he snapped. Soryu didn’t like you. He made it very obvious. You were so uncomfortable around him.
“Oh come on.” Baba finally released your wrist. “It’s fun to bully, Y/N! You should try it out some time.” he crossed his arm and stared at him. You shifted your weight from one leg to the other, not sure what to do.
“I’d rather eat dirt.” he replied coldly. You weren’t sure if he meant well or not, but for some reason that comment kind of hurt your feelings. Would he rather eat dirt than deal with you, or-
“You.” a snap caught you off guard. Soryu was pointing right at you, looking impatient. “You’re done for the day. Go” he nodded back towards the elevators.
“Yes sir.” you said quickly, bolting for the doors. It seemed like forever waiting for the golden sliding doors to open. You could feel all of their gazes on your back.
Finally, the elevator door slid open, allowing you to scurry in.
...(The Next Day)
“And done.” you finished mopping the floors as you were instructed to do by Mr. Ichinomiya. The entire room was spotless thank to you. Sure, your hard work would definitely go unnoticed but you didn’t care. Being stuck cleaning an entire penthouse wasn’t your idea of a great work day but as long as you could do it in peace, you were fine.
“Helloooo, Maid!” A voice sang. Spoke. Too. Soon.
Baba skipped in again, tipping his fedora to you like the gentleman he wasn’t. “All done for the day?”
“Um...I-” you began to speak, but kept cutting yourself off. If you said yes, he would start messing with you. If you said no, he’d know you were a liar.
“She’s with me today.” you felt something wrap around your wrist and pull you away from Baba. Soryu had a firm grip on you that you found it impossible to let so.
“Aha! So I was right.” you heard Baba’s voice fade as you were dragged into the elevator. Right about what?
Soryu pulled you in with him and shoved his keycard into a slot. You weren’t going to his floor, were you?! Wait, no you couldn’t! “Um...Sir?” you tried to speak.
“No talking.” He cut you off with his firm voice. “We have matters to discuss.”
“Okay then.” you said quietly. You couldn’t protest and you definitely wouldn’t. All you could do was stand there and flatten yourself against the wall. You weren’t prepared for whatever was about to happen. You weren’t ready! You so ready ready. No way in hell were you ready!  Your thoughts were too jumbled to even register the elevator doors open.
“Follow me.” Soryu said, walking forward without looking at you. You quietly trailed behind him, heading straight for his room. You followed behind him quietly. Your heart was racing a million miles a minute. Once you made it to his bedroom, you were left to just stare at him as he locked the door. The stone cold mobster sighed deeply before turning to you, slowly undoing his silk lavender tie.
“Um...Why are we here?” you found it in yourself to finally speak.
“Isn’t it obvious?” he huffed. “I’m gonna bully you.” he took a step forward, letting his tie drop to the floor. “I’m gonna mess with you and pick on you.” he stood over you.
“I’m sorry, what?” you stepped back. “Mr. Oh, what are you talking about?”
“You’re gonna let me bully you like you let Mitsunari do.” he said threateningly. “Understand?”
“I don’t let him bully me.” you tried to explain. “He just does.”
“You’re a terrible liar. You let him mess with you because you’re in love with him, aren’t you?”
“No!” you said a little to loudly. “I am not in love with Baba, I’ve never been!”
Soryu made a partially confused face, which in turn confused the hell out of you. “You’re not?”
“Of course not!” you shook your head. “I don’t look at any of the other men that way.”
Soryu glared at you, but not his usual glare. This was different. Jealousy, maybe? “I don’t believe you.”
“W-well you should. I like someone else.” you found yourself saying. You instantly regretted it. No one was really supposed to know that, especially not the culprit himself.
“Who?” He asked, his eyebrows narrowed. “Don’t bullshit me, maid.”
Call it hypocritical, but hearing him call you that made you feel strange, way different that the inner dread you felt when Baba called you that.
“Y-you, Soryu.”
For once, the seemingly cool mobster lost his cool. He began fumbling around as if he didn’t know what to do. You noticed his cheeks turn completely pink. It was kind of...cute.
“Me? You’re in love with...me?” he asked, flustered as all hell. “I don’t do schoolgirl crushes, you know that.”
“I’m aware.” you said boldly, which surprised both him and yourself. “Why do you think I put up with those assholes every damn day.”
“...because of me?” the corners of his mouth turned up. “You let those assholes near you because-”
“...It means I get to see you...even if you don’t like me-”
“What? No!” Soryu went from stone cold to looking like a complete nerd. “I mean...um...I’ve grown interested in you as well.”
“Oh...really?” you fought back the smile threatening to rise on your face.
“Yeah...” he replied. “So...you’re not allowed to be alone with those men ever again.”

Eisuke Ichinomiya- Anger Looks SO Good on you.
REQUEST CLOSED FOR NOW
Tumblr media
FINALLY! SOMETHING VOLTAGE!! NFDKS *Throws table*
6- Do you have to be so annoying all the time?
13- I dare you to finish that sentence...
44- Maybe if you beg, I might...
105- You need to learn respect, bend over.
Also we’re actually gonna give MC a backbone here, mkay? I don’t feel like writing a shy and vulnerable reader today because we gotta give it up for our independent MCs CAN I GET AN AMEN and I need more abrasive outspoken MCs in otome games anyways.
Alright, LEGGO!
...
Well this was a compromising position. What were you thinking!? How could you lose your composure like that? You sunked down in the chair, beating yourself up for getting so upset. You were definitely going to get fired.
... (Flashback!)
You wordlessly cleaned the kitchen counters, not bothering to look up at the five bidders gathered around the couch. You stared down at the marble countertop, seemingly almost seeing you reflection on the beautiful surface. One more thing then you could be outta here!
This wasn’t even your job. It wasn’t your job to clean up after these assholes. They were rich so they thought they could just dangle a dollar over your head like a treat for a fucking dog and you’d come running.
WELL THEY WERE RIGHT.
“Oh maiiidd!!″ You heard Baba sing, making you looked up. “Come here a minute won’t you?” You threw the rag down and walked around the counter to walk over to where Baba was sitting. Your back was turned to the rest of the bunch, not that you couldn’t see those stupid looks on their faces anyways. You heard a wolf-whistle from behind you. Fucking Ota....
“Yes, sir?” you hissed. “Can I do something for you?”
“You sure can, clean that stain up for me.” he pointed to a minor spill, no bigger than the size of a grain of rice on the table.
“Y-you’re kidding right?” you asked flatly. “That is what you wanted me to...you wanted me to clean that?” you raised an eyebrow.
“You know how I am about messes.” he shrugged.
Did they HAVE to be so annoying for no reason all the time?
“With pleasure, sir.” you rolled your eyes, picking up the drop with your sleeve. “Better?”
“Hm, good. You know how to be obedient.” Eisuke walked in the room, fixing his tie with a smirk on his face. “Maybe I’ll promote you so you only work for us from now on.”
“Hm, maybe get her a new uniform first. She can’t walk around like that.” Mamoru chuckled, taking another huff of his cigarette. He knew how much you hated when he smoked inside so to watch him put out the cigarette butt on the pretty glass table infuriated you.
“Why would that be?” you asked in the nicest way you could.
“Because maids need proper training...and if you’re gonna work for us, you might as well give us something to look at while you work.”
Then one thing led to another, then someone decided to insult not only you but your work ethic...and then....this happened
“AND YOU KNOW WHAT?!” you rip off that stupid apron you were forced to wear. “Maybe if you all had some sort of respect for women you all wouldn’t be miserable and single!” you threw it down on the floor. “Fuck this job, Fuck this place.” you ripped off your nametag and shoved it into your pocket, “AND MOST OF ALL, FUCK YOU”
You pushed past Baba and Ota on your way towards the door.
“HEY! You walk out the door and you face the consequences.” You heard Mr. Ichinomiya call after you. “You’re job at risk and other things as well L/N.”
“Oh...is that so?” you asked softly, turning towards the men, who all had shit-eating grins on there face. “Well in that case.” you shrugged, beginning to walk back. You grabbed the glass that had been on the table and turned towards Eisuke. You grabbed the liquor bottle and filled it up to the brim.
“That’s better, maid.” Eisuke smirked.
“Oh trust me...it truly is. How’s this for a consequence.” you threw the contents of the glass in his face before dropping it on the floor, stepping on it with your foot and smashing it to peices.. “Seeya!” You stormed out, making sure to shut the door behind you.
...(End of flashback)
Now you were in his office, waiting for him to tell you that you were fired. this was an absolute nightmare. You were shaking. You didn’t want to be fired!
Mr.Inchinomiya walked in with a glare on his face. “I shouldn’t even be giving you a chance to explain yourself, but you’re lucky I like to entertain your behavior L/N.”
“Sir, I am so so sorry i have no idea what came over me. my behavior was uncalled for and I don’t kno why I did that or why I reacted the way I did. I am so so sorry.”
“And?”
“I need this job. This is the only job I have and the only one that allows me to work freely, please PLEASE don’t fire me. I’m begging you!”
“i don’t like excuses Y/N....wait...did you just say you were begging me.”
“Yes, please please don’t fire me.” you almost felt like you ere gonna cry.
“Maybe if you beg me more...I might consider not firing you.” he smirked. “On your knees, L/N.”
Oh great, he was gonna play this game?
Defeated, you dropped to your knees. “...P-please...d-don’t fire me. You have no idea how much I need this job. I’ll do anything.” you forced yourself to say, even though you were getting more and more disgusted with each word that left your mouth. Not with yourself, but with whatever sick game he was about to play.
“Hm...anything.” he sighed. “Hm, I should throw you out of my hotel right now but I think I’m feeling generous today.” Eisuke make you look up. “Wouldn’t you say so?”
“Um...Yeah sure.” you raised an eyebrow. “Am I fired ooorrrr-”
“No...in fact, you’ve been promoted.”
“Promot- what?” you found your self standing to your feet. “Promoted? I literally dumped whiskey on your head.” you were confused.
“Hm, yes...that is true. But as I said I’m feeling generous...and I don’t recall giving you permisson to stand up, pet.”
“Sorry what?” you raised an eyebrow. “I’m confused.”
“Hm, since this is your first day of promotion, I’ll allow it...have a seat Y/N.”
Listening, went to sit down.
“In my chair.” he pointed to the big boss chair behind his desk. He looked dead serious so you didn’t pry or question. You just listened.
“From now on, you are to call me by my name in front of everyone. You will no longer refer to me as Mr. Inchinomiya. Master Eisuke, Sir Eisuke also work as well...When we’re alone, you may refer to me as just Eisuke.”
“...When you say promotion...what do you-”
“I will no longer refer to you as Maid, or by your last name.’ he cut you off. “Instead you will be Pet, Y/N, or Pretty Thing if you behave.”
Oh....he meant that type of promotion. You felt your face heat up violently.
“Y-yes sir.” you found yourself saying.
“Sir what.” he growled, slamming his hand on the table. “Finish your sentence, Pretty Thing.”
That nickname alone was enough to make your heart race.
“But first...you need to learn some respect...bend over.” he smirked. “Won’t you take your punishment like a good little maid??”
(Fun fact, My favorite bidders in order are Ota, Soryu, Mamoru, Baba, Eisuke...Eisuke stays getting on my nerves lol but I still love him. Giirrrl I love me some Ota haaaaayy
Also I was wondering if you guys wanted some recs for some visual novels/ otomes. I have a lot of favorites)

Searching - Chapter 1
The last time I wrote about Eisuke, I’d met someone in my travels who inspired the story. This one comes from a similar place, and I hope you’ll enjoy. Should be the first part of something short again. Let me know if you want to be tagged.
Tumblr media
I’d woken up extra early and made my way downstairs to the cafe, in order to grab a coffee and emotionally regroup before my day started. I brought my small bag with my planner, pen, and of course camera, as I found a cozy corner to sit in.
The hotel cafe was sparsely populated, and I figured it wouldn’t be long until a waiter brought over my drink. In the meantime, I took out my things and leafed through my schedule as I examined what was on the docket today, not to mention the month to come.
I wasn’t an alcoholic, but looking at my calendar I found myself whispering, “one day at a time,” incredibly overwhelmed by the amount I needed to do in the weeks to come.
This current week in Tokyo was jam packed with planning and photoshoots with well known models before I was set to head north and do a few shoots before returning for another two weeks before ultimately flying home to the states. For years I’d hoped for this kind of opportunity and this kind of life, but now that it was happening I found myself having second thoughts.
Being on the move made it hard to put down roots.
I’d been single for almost 3 years and I’d always figured I’d start dating once my life calmed down. What I hadn’t anticipated was that the opposite would happen. Like a snowball rolling down a hill, my career seemed to grow exponentially with every job and pick up speed until I had the choice to either quit completely or accept that this was my life.
I was grateful for the fact that success in this area of my life had allowed me to transform my hobby of snapping photos with friends to traveling the world on someone else’s dime. I currently lived a life full of expensing fancy dinners and making more money than I’d ever dreamed. I wasn’t a billionaire by any means, but I had more money in the bank than my grandmother who immigrated to the states could have ever wrapped her head around.
People say that money can’t solve your problems, but I figured that money could help with the quest to find me a steady boyfriend.
I employed a matchmaking service back in New York for almost ten thousand dollars with the hope that would understand my criteria and find me the perfect husband without much work on my end. I simply didn’t have the time to go on first date after first date that didn’t go anywhere and I did want to be married one day.
Though I knew I was not nearly as attractive as the models I was paid to capture, I believed myself to be more attractive than the matches they sent my way. Before I’d left New York for my one month tour of Japan, I’d demanded that they do better as they tried to persuade me I’d set the bar impossibly high.
“That’s absurd,” I’d snapped back. “You’ve seen the pictures of my exes and the guys I date. I’m sure these guys are lovely but I can’t help the fact I am completely unattracted to them.”
My matchmaker protested gently, “I’ve been doing this for a long time - sometimes someone isn’t attractive at the start but they grow on you…”
“No. I know myself well enough to know that won’t happen here. Even when I’ve had that experience they haven’t necessarily been my type or what I’m used to but they’re still attractive and there’s still SOMETHING that drew me to them…not like this.”
I felt awful having to admit how superficial I was at the end of the day but I also knew that I didn’t have the time to waste on a lackluster first date with a man whose appearance I found slovenly and unappealing.
I didn’t care that he was a business owner and had a penthouse - I wasn’t trying to be his trophy wife.
I was becoming my own rich man, as Cher would say.
“But if you just gave him a try…”
“No. I’m sorry but no. It’s not nice for me to go feeling this way and I’m leaving for a month as is. I’m not wasting his time or mine and I hope when I return you have someone that’s more in line with my preferences.”
I felt like a diva but I was too busy to mask my annoyance. I was in the business of always delivering for my clients.
I was theirs and they owed it to me.
I rubbed my eyes, still feeling the jet lag from when I’d arrived and made a few notes in my planner. Scout today. Shoot tomorrow and Wednesday. Review retouching Thursday and Friday. Fly out Saturday.
Rinse.
Repeat.
I sighed, knowing full well that I craved a vacation where I could actually enjoy Tokyo instead of being shuttled around in town-cars for work.
“Everything alright?”
I looked up and saw the smiling face of a middle aged man who worked for the hotel.
“Yes, everything’s fine - there’s just a lot to do.”
“Should I arrange for any of the hotel’s spa services for you?”
“No, that’s alright. Thank you…Mr. Kenzaki,” I said, taking note of his employee name-tag.
“Of course. Just let me know if there’s anything I can do to make your stay here more enjoyable.”
“May I take your photo?”
He’d started to walk away when I’d asked, and at first he appeared shy, almost apprehensive as if I were asking him to tell me something incredibly personal. I suppose taking a photograph of someone is incredibly personal, at least, someone once said that about my work long ago.
“You don’t have to,” I quickly added. “I don’t want you to be uncomfortable.”
“No, that’s quite alright. Go ahead.”
I took out my small point and shoot that I used for fun, and framed him up dead center with the cafe’s arch creating a sense of symmetry around him as identically set tables almost created a look as if there were a mirror effect taking place in the image.
He looked stiff and uncomfortable and to get what I wanted I asked, “Mr. Kenzaki, have you always had that haircut?”
For an instant he looked vulnerable and I snapped the photo before he replied.
“Yes. For some time now at least - why do you ask?”
“It suits you. You appear to be a very capable, organized individual and your appearance reflects this. Thank you for letting me take your photo.”
He nodded but I could see that he was slightly unsettled as he walked away and once out of sight I looked at the image on my screen. There was something incredibly boyish in his face that captured who he once was in a moment of who he’d become.
“You’re as good as they say you are,” said a voice behind me, and I looked up to see a man looking at the camera’s digital screen over my shoulder.
I found it odd that someone would recognize me, but having worked at this level for the past few years with several international showcases it wasn’t implausible enough to alarm me.
“Thanks I guess.”
“I thought you’d have a much more professional setup though…”
“I do. This is just when I am trying to enjoy the process - when it’s not work. There’s something freeing about not having so much equipment.”
The man scowled and I was uncertain as to what in my statement had rubbed him the wrong way.
“Work is work, not play. There is only joy in the capital gained from it.”
“Perhaps for you, but there was once joy in what I did and I’m trying to find it again. Have a good day.”
With that, I started to leave. I’d drained my coffee and a car would be here soon enough to take me to scout several outdoor locations where we’d be working tomorrow.
“Won’t you take my photo?”
I turned around and looked at him. It was obvious that whoever he was, he’d built up so many walls that getting him to expose who he really was would take more time than I had. An offhanded comment would not crack this man as it had Mr. Kenzaki.
“I do, but right now I don’t have the time.”
“Later then? When you return?”
Puzzled, I raised an eyebrow and said, “I don’t know - I’ll see how I feel. It’s not just snapping a photo for me you know. It’s more than that.”
He started to say something but then pursed his lips and nodded.
“Okay.”
I thought about the oddity of that interaction for most of the day.
I had a translator, 2 assistants, and a creative director with me at all times for the bulk of the scout and it took us most of the day to finalize the schedule for the following 2 days. They took me around and to places most Americans would never get to visit but I still felt as if I had to be my professional self versus my real one.
I had to remain upbeat and excited, grateful for the opportunity, and impressed by all the city had to offer while simultaneously creating shot lists in my head that I’d frantically jot down in notebooks while their backs were turned.
My phone informed me that I’d done about 10 miles of walking by the time the day was over and after a fairly luxurious dinner with the creative team and translator in which I walked everyone through the plan for the following days I found myself spent.
There was a sense of relief as I kicked off my shoes and walked into my hotel suite, prepared to order some late night dessert from room service and soak in the tub before I turned in on the early side. I chucked once more thinking about the man I’d met who wanted his photo taken, and wondered if he was going to be in the cafe tomorrow morning with the hope I’d photograph him.
As I waited for my cake, I lay on the couch in my suite and connected my phone to wifi, allowing for iMessages and WhatsApp notifications to flood my phone from the states.
My friend was getting married.
My other friend had given birth.
People missed me.
My mom wanted to know if I was doing ok.
And my manager had put me up for a few additional jobs in Asia that could potentially extend my stay up to two months and I felt annoyed at the fact that he hadn’t run the idea by me first, seeing as how I was already tired and wanting to go home.
I felt too tired to reply and lazily tossed my phone onto the table next to me before I closed my eyes to rest.
I hoped to quiet the thoughts swirling in my head, but all that I could think about was how lonely this new life of mine felt. I managed to be around people all the time and yet I was close to no one these days. My friends had all moved forward into new chapters of their lives and I felt as if I were being left behind.
No one pitied me or had any idea I felt this way. To them I was their fabulous photo friend who rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous and updated my instagram with a steady stream of exotic photos. On paper it looked as if I had it all, but in my heart there was a hole.
The longer I sat with these feelings, the more confused and hopeless I felt. It wasn’t long before the mix of melancholy and exhaustion had silent tears streaming town my cheeks.
I felt as if I had one foot in my old life and one foot in the new one - resisting the fact that I was someone who would be gone for months at a time and who would be unable as a result to cultivate new relationships. And to add insult to injury, what was once fun had started to feel like work in all areas.
I couldn’t just snap a picture anymore for fun. My pictures were scrutinized. They were shared. They were representing my brand and therefore they couldn’t be flawed.
I missed being able to shoot freely and make mistakes and not have this reputation - albeit a good one.
Too good in fact.
The bar kept getting set higher and higher and all I wanted was the freedom to make art the way I did when I was first starting.
A knock on my door interrupted my stormy thoughts and I hastily wiped my tears before asking, “Who is it?”
“Room service.”
I’d forgotten about the cake.
I made my way to the door, unconcerned with my appearance and opened it to discover the man from the morning awkwardly holding a piece of cake.
“You…don’t usually do this, do you?” I found myself asking.
“I do not.”
I chuckled and took the cake, hanging my head a bit in the hopes I could extricate myself from the conversation without having to acknowledge the feelings that had come before.
“Do I have to sign anything?”
“No. I…Are you alright?”
There was something clumsy about the way he asked me.
“Just an off day. Thanks for the cake,” I said scanning for his employee badge.
“Eisuke Ichinomiya. I own the hotel.”
“Well, thank you for personally delivering it.”
“I have ulterior motives. I want you to take my picture.”
“Yeah, I kind of got that earlier. Why?”
“Because they say you capture the essence of who someone is.”
“Thank you. But if you want a professional shoot contact my agent and they’ll…”
“I need you to help me understand who I am.”
His voice was quiet when he said it, but there was a humility behind those words that I hadn’t seen before in him. Now that I was looking at him, it was fair to say he quite handsome. Though guarded, there was an elegance and masculinity about him that would make for a good subject and knowing that he was a powerful man I suddenly shifted in what this photograph could do for me.
If I could capture a king looking as lost as he did now, I could take my career somewhere else perhaps.
I could maybe even afford to be more selective with my jobs.
The universe had brought me a gift, but I would soon see that it was not going to be what I initially thought.

“Well he’s mucked it all up, hasn’t he?” The king asked, staring down at Eisuke with disdain.
The normally bustling restaurant was now completely still in a way that felt unsettling. Waiters placed food down on tables and poured water suspended in time and space as the king and I continued to live our lives in regular time.
“What do you mean?” I asked, confused as to what the king was getting at.
“He wasn’t supposed to be the sixth man, but…I’ll admit in a way he is.”
“What?”
“You had one guess and he wasn’t the one.”
I could feel my heart sink at those words, but watching the king I could tell that there was more going on to this situation than met the eye.
“I lost?”
“You were supposed to lose if you guessed him but I realize now that you’re correct in a way, and a deal’s a deal.”
“Wait…I’m sorry. I’m confused. Have I won Meg back or not?”
“Yes,” he said begrudgingly. “I’ll allow it. I know you think I’m a cheat, but I assure you that’s not the case.”
I was still uncertain as to what was happening when the king sighed and with a groan snapped again, producing Meg in front of me out of thin air.
“Naomi!”
“Meg!”
We hugged and even though we were ecstatic to be reunited once more, the king didn’t care much for what was happening with the two of us.
“You’re lucky I decided to read his mind when I did Goldfish or I might not have been as generous,” he droned on in the background.
His general attitude made me worry that my seeing Meg might be short lived, and I pulled away from her in order to figure out if I had her back for good this time.
“So I no longer have to guess the sixth man, right?”
The king let out another annoyed growl, almost was as if he was angry at me for not being the mind reader that he was.
“No. I will accept Eisuke even though the correct answer was Toma though.”
“But…”
“It’s my fault for not seeing it sooner. I had hoped that he would help me trick you, but it never occurred to me that his desire to come to this realm was more about being able to be there for you. I should have done more research before I approached him with my plan.”
“Research?”
“Good heavens you’re an infuriating one today! Yes. Research. You weren’t really on my radar when you first arrived, remember? Leon was the one keeping an eye on you and it was only when he started reporting to me that you were making eyes at Zyglavis that I began to check in.”
“Oh.”
“I witnessed him go to bat for his friend but it never occurred to me…not once…that he might be pining away for you while still supporting his friend.”
I felt lucky that the king was being generous, but I was surprised that he’d failed to fully understand who he brought to this world. I had it in my head that the whole time this had been a David vs. Goliath story and that most of the events that happened around me were his doing - managed by a mastermind of mischief. It had never occurred to me that he was rolling the dice as much as I was during this process, though maybe thinking that way about him was a bit too liberal in regards of his abilities to see how things would play out.
It was odd seeing someone like the king as fallible and naturally it was the moment I thought such a thing that the king let out a caustic chuckle and added, “I forgot how strange and sentimental you goldfish are. I’ve watched you for my entire life, over so many periods in human history and yet I often forget about your capacity for complexity.”
He looked at Eisuke somewhat wistfully and with a gloved hand gently touched his frozen cheek. Meg and I glanced at each other unsure as to what was happening until the king looked at us with a bright smile.
“Should I take this one back to my world too?”
“Actually…and I can’t believe I’m saying this but…can I keep him here for now?”
“Have a change of heart are we?”
“Mmm doubtful, but I think he might come in handy if you’re willing to give me that small advantage.”
The king clicked his tongue and with a wry, teasing smiled noted, “You seem to be doing far too well all things considered. And now that you have her I worry that I might be the underdog in this game I’ve orchestrated.”
“I’m sure you’ve still got a few tricks up your sleeve,” I said cautiously.
To that he grinned at me like the Cheshire Cat and nodded before snapping his fingers and restarting time.
Tumblr media
Eisuke’s steak should have gone cold considering how long the king and I had talked, but true to the magic the king’s presence injected into this world I watched as he brought the steak to his lips and chewed, as if this second bite 15 minutes later was identical to the first. It took him a few seconds to register Meg’s presence and when he did he raised an eyebrow before giving her a small nod and taking another bite.
“Pull up a chair if you want to order something,” he said, gesturing to a waiter who pulled up a chair for her.
“Nice to finally meet you,” Meg said. “I feel like I’ve heard far too much from your annoying friends.”
“Oh?” Eisuke asked despite his tone hinting at his disinterest.
“Fuck! I’m glad to be back,” Meg said chuckling before waving over a waiter and pointing at Eisuke’s steak. “Hey - I’ll get what he’s eating.”
I couldn’t help but smirk at Meg’s attitude. I remembered vividly all the emotions I’d felt upon my return and there she was looking at her time away almost as if it was merely a nuisance. She looked great - slightly more fit and was wearing a cool and very fashionable bizarro Tokyo outfit.
Her hair was styled in beachy waves and she wore a fitted shirt that hugged her curves and left her shoulders and clavicle bare with dark jeans and cute ballet flats. Her makeup was done differently than her usual look (when she chose to wear makeup) and instead of a natural look her eyes really popped thanks to her dark winged eye liner.
“Naomi - I have to say...I’m glad the only person on the planet who understands what happened is you because fuck!”
“Must you keep cursing?” Eisuke asked in a slightly perturbed tone.
Meg turned towards him and looking him directly in the eyes smiled and said, “Fuck you and fuck your criminal friends.”
It was then that the relief of having her back for good combined with the scene playing out before me caused me to belly laugh in a way I hadn’t done since her disappearance. My laugh made Naomi start to laugh and in a matter of moments we were reduced to two giggling schoolgirls.
In fact, we laughed so hard and for so long that by the time our laughter finally subsided, Meg’s steak had arrived and Eisuke grumbled, “It’s not that funny,” in protest of being completely out of control for once.
“How bad was it?” I asked.
“I mean...you’ve met me. And you’ve met Baba...”
“Oh boy.”
“I don’t know what it is about guys like him that make me want to knock them down a peg...”
“God I want to know everything...”
“So much happened. I think I broke the romance world you love so much.”
“Seriously?”
“Seriously. I don’t think there’s a single trope in that world I came to appreciate. For sure not the ones that are friends with him, but even outside of the hotel.”
“Really? You weren’t tempted by any of them? Not one?”
Meg hesitated for a second and in that second I knew that she’d met someone who had stirred something in her heart, despite the broken state it might currently be in. She lied in that moment though, shaking her head no and said, “Not really. And what about you?”
“I’m just happy to have you back, and I’m surprised that the king allowed it.”
“Why wouldn’t he have allowed it?” Eisuke asked curtly.
“Because the sixth man wasn’t you. But apparently you like me sooooo...”
Never in my life did I think I’d have the chance to tease Eisuke and I was not about to let this one pass me by.
His cheeks immediately flushed and he defensively lowered his eyes to his food and both Meg and I cackled. It was a bit mean of us but we were back to being two peas in a pod and as insensitive as it was it couldn’t be helped.
“I’m certain I don’t know why,” he said gruffly, desperately trying to regain the upper hand.
It was obvious that a man with such ego was not used to being at a disadvantage, and he continued to go about his business eating as the red hue in his face continued to deepen.
“Because Naomi is great - don’t give me that shit,” Meg quipped, eating her steak in a voracious manner. “And all of you have a complex where no one sees you for who you are and once they do you all fall fucking hard.”
Eisuke’s silverware clattered against his plate as he dramatically let them fall out of frustration.
“Must you curse like a sailor? We are in a nice steakhouse trying to enjoy a nice lunch...”
“I’m enjoying my lunch just fine and after being kidnapped for a month or two I’m just happy to be back in a world where people curse and aren’t incredibly reserved. The cultural differences between here and fake Tokyo were really starting to wear on my dumb American spirit.”
“I see,” he said, his words reeking of judgement. “I can’t imagine your charm did much for you in my world, unlike Naomi who somehow walks that perfect line between empowered and ladylike.”
“Ahaha hear that Omi?”
“Shut it.”
“And I’ll have you know Mister Ichinomiya,” Meg said, mouth full dragging out his name for effect, “Your buddies were pretty taken with me. Seems like my honey badger spirit was quite refreshing when compared with the meek women at the Tres Spades who just follow you and your boys around like dumb groupies.”
“Excuse me?”
Meg nodded, cheeks full of steak and a happy, slightly messy smirk. She chewed a bit more and swallowed the hunk of meat she’d been working on before replying triumphantly, “Yeah dude. Baba thought I was hilarious and told me I managed to ‘breathe life into the stalest of chases’, Mamoru felt as if I could just be one of the guys, and Ota kept saying he wanted me to be his pet or some shit, but by the end he was all blushy and asking me if I’d dom him.”
“I really didn’t need to know that,” Eisuke said with a disgusted look on his face.
Meg shrugged unfettered by Eisuke’s discomfort, and took another swing of water before flippantly replying, “You asked.”
“Yeah you kind of did...” I echoed.
“Naomi, do you think you could catch up with your friend some other time?” Eisuke asked more forcefully than usual.
Meg let out a chuckle and popped the last piece of steak in her mouth before getting up.
“Sure Romeo. I’d like to catch up on email before everyone realizes I’ve gone missing. How long has it been?”
“Not long,” I reassured Meg. “Like...4? 5 days?”
Meg scoffed and shook her head, “That’s crazy. It was almost a month in that world.”
“Believe me I understand.”
She picked up her bag, which had made it to and from the otome realm with her and told me to text her when I was done with work and left, not even bothering to say goodbye to Eisuke.
Meg had come in her usual loud, boisterous self and her absence left us in silence. Eisuke motioned to the waiter for the check, and once it had been delivered he put down cash.
“That friend of yours is...quite crass.”
“Meg is always herself no matter the company.”
“She’s your best friend?”
“One of them.”
“You can’t have more than one best friend. That negates the title.”
I could feel myself about to get into an argument but stopped myself and instead looked him square in the eyes and asked, “What is it that you really want to say?”
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me.”
Eisuke paused momentarily, pursed his lips and said, “If you think I’m about to confess my love you’re sorely mistaken.”
“So you didn’t come here to win my heart then?”
“I came here for Soryu. But...then I saw you and we started arguing and I felt a strange affection for you. I wouldn’t say I want to win your heart...more that I’m irritated you can’t see that I’m better than any man you could ever hope to date. I shouldn’t have to win you. You should be trying to win me. And you don’t. And that infuriates me.”
The scene felt reminiscent of a therapy session if I’m being honest and I watched him unpack the things he was feeling, his expression twisting with discomfort as he realized how hard it was to not always get what you want.
The waiter returned with his changed and he left a nice tip, stuffing the rest into his wallet quite carelessly which was unlike him. I could tell he was agitated, not to mention frustrated by how his true intentions had come to light and when he stood to leave the table I grabbed ahold of his sleeve.
“No. Let’s finish this.”
“What?”
“Sit - I want to talk this out. I don’t want you to run away from me…”
“What do you really care Naomi? You got Meg back after all…it’s not like you actually like me. I can tell. That’s why this is all so maddening.”
“I don’t not like you.”
“Wow. Thank you. That’s basically what every man longs to hear,” he said sarcastically. He pulled his arm away from me, and I found myself reaching out once more.
“Eisuke, stop. Let’s not do this. Let’s talk like grown ups.”
“There’s nothing to say. You know how I feel now…and…and…”
I could feel someone’s eyes on me but didn’t dare look over for fear that if I shifted my attention nothing would be resolved. I pulled him back down into our seats and just as I was forming my rebuttal, I felt his lips on mine. I was stunned to be honest - I never expected him to just kiss me out of the blue, especially considering I was convinced that the remnants of my lunch might be present on my face.
I don’t know if it was the shock or the inner monologue but I found myself allowing it to go on longer than I ever would have thought. It was strange kissing a man that I didn’t even particularly like and even stranger that I sort of enjoyed it.
He was my client…a thorn in my side…and yet I started to relax into his arms, and his kiss…
…and then as quickly as he’d moved in, he pulled back and I was left panting and docile with a curious expression on my face.
“I have to go,” he muttered and I was so caught off guard I did nothing to stop him from running away from me.
I brought my hand to my lips and with my thumb wiped away a trace of wetness the kiss left behind. I started to compose myself and it was then that I turned to see Jin at the window, looking in at me past the client he was speaking with outside the steakhouse and I realized that his being there was not mere coincidence.
This was the king fighting back after I’d had too many wins, too quickly.
