i am wide awake thinking about that post canon jb au again when I should be sleeping …!!! such is the nature of the jbrainrot…

Okayyhhh finished da2 last night it really has the best storyline of the series (after DAO of course 😭) and it makes me SO maddddd that it got universally dumped bc ppl wanted racial specs so bad!! I only have one complaint abt it and it’s that I hate the maps/layout (but I hated that aspect in dao too) so while I’m sitting here trying to get dai to load without crashing I gotta wonder is it even worth it to replay it? Outside of your love interest the inquisitior doesn’t have a personality or really any personal struggles- unlike hawke and the warden ur characters backstory exists 80% in your head and 20% in dialogue. all EA did was give us a codex entry. You can’t even be funny it’s either ignorant, sad, or mad and then ur voice reverts to a neutral posh persona. Don’t even get me started on the dialogue wheel cuz u never know what ur character is going to say 😭 the large scale mage Templar uprising is done by act 1 n ur stuck w Corypheus the cousin Greg of all DA villains as the main conflict. Why am I laughing at Cullen praying to andraste that I don’t get killed in the final battle ?? Babe it’ll be over in two minutes. Anyways the only saving point of DAI is the dlc now that was tasty and well Cullen’s arc when u marry him at the end imo ❤️

Jay. her boyfriend.#and there's a moment. a single brief moment where she turns back.#she smiles and holds jay's hands. she caresses his cheek.#and just as quick as she came #she left. jay screaming her name as she dives back into the sea #and then the funeral. because what else do you call it but a funeral.#they call all of her friends and family. they pour seawater in an urn. they hold a service of sorts.#and i'd like to imagine each person feels responsible in some way. for not doing more. for not being as convincing to her.#some feel it more than others. trying to start S2 Ep 6 of IWTV and I've already paused it like 10x in the first 10 minutes because it's just kinda getting hard to care what they're going on about and I keep getting distracted tbh

#idk if i will end up finishing it #it's kinda losing me #idk it's frustrating that this show def cares about the characters & the source material but there's just a few too many things bugging me #like i havent watched any other VC adaptation before that actually felt to me like the actors and writers had read the books #and cared about the deeper parts of the characters other than this one (and MAYBE tom cruise as lestat in the 90s movie actually lol)#so thats a nice win for it #but also its just not doing it for me aesthetically and some of the show writing choices and changes ruined certain big things for me #like ruined me sympathizing with lestat and/or caring about his relationship with louis at all. and some of the stuff about claudia too #and now im just getting confused by the plot and i dont know if it's because im zoning out or mixing up the show timeline w the books #maybe ill just take a break from it and finish rereading the third book instead #this is kinda why i dont watch shows or ever finish them either usually too like #they so rarely stay good all the way through and its just hard for me to stay interested past a season or two regardless #i feel like i can only maintain interest in short form videos (like movies) and long form writing (like novels/book series) sometimes #not a big fan of short stories and not a big fan of long tv series #i have no idea why #other than i find tv series often overstay their welcome and short stories often leave me unsatisfied in the opposite way #p #vmpcs
