I picture Rook and Taash to travel Thedas together. Hunting for dragons, looking for magic, treasure and relics. And Rook's style becomes a mix of Veiljumper and Lord of Fortunes.

Gave Taash the "Ragnar Lothbrok" ponytail here. But I can picture them with shorter hair too. Might draw that next.

It was over

They were both home in Treviso, but his capture in the fade and Lucanis' schedule as first talon meant neither of them were sleeping like they had wanted after everything was over. Even though they had promised each other. His steps were silent, though the blanket trailing with him was not as he made his way through the empty halls. He carried a small overnight bag packed with his and Lucanis' necessities. He was going to sleep in the arms of his husband tonight and tomorrow. In Luca's old apartment.

His fingers wrapped around the handle and as it was turned he head the tired groan. "Please tell--Teigue?" He offered his husband a tired smile, shuffling over to him. "I have a contract only the first talon can fulfill." he murmured leaning over to kiss him slowly. "The target is a bed located in an apartment across town. The contracts last for two days and two nights." He murmured against his skin. "Is that so?" His husband rumbled gently cupping his chin and claiming a kiss.

"Hm yes, I don't want to sleep without you anymore." He grabbed Lucanis' hand pulling him from a chair with a tug. "Are you taking the blanket with us mio amor?" His lips quirked into a smirk and Teigue leaned in pressing a soft kiss to them. "Yes mio vita." he hummed. Their hands intertwined as they left the Villa from the balcony.

The sun long set, and the stars glittered on the water as they made their way into town, strolling along the rooftops until they found the apartment. Lucanis dropped down onto balcony first before reaching up and pulling him down. "Charmer~" He pushed up on his toes giving his husband a kiss. Slipping into the apartment his shoulders relaxed and Teigue cast his blanket over on the bed. Reaching into his bag he pulled out a book. Shedding the clothes he laid on the bed, it did not take long for his talon to join him. He shifted so he was laying on Lucanis' chest a soft hum slipped through his lips as he started reading from the book for Luca, whose fingers combed through his hair. Slowly his breathing evened and Teigue closed the book curling against his husband, as his arms wrapped around him. Sleep creeping in as he closed his own eyes.

i don't think i can properly express how amazing it is to be able to play a trans rook and even be able to have dialogue related to it.

as a trans man, it means EVERYTHING to be able to play as a character that represents some of my own experiences.

my rook being able to share his own experiences with taash when they're figuring out their own identity was AMAZING. as someone who transitioned fairly young, i've had conversations exactly like that with friends who were discovering their own identities and had come to me for advice.

it's just...incredible. there's not a lot of trans representation in video games, and especially not a lot of good representation.

sure, some of the trans-related dialogue options definitely sound like they were written by a cis person, but you can tell the right intentions were there. and to me at least, that's what really matters.

I love how easy it would be to pick them up and toss them but they're still the one in control and just ahhhhhhhhhhh

an: hi. i know i said i wasn't gonna do something like this again, but i lied. i have no clue where i got this idea, but here it is. this is after the game takes place, and there will be a spoiler. and for context, my rook is ftm trans. any and all transphobia and homophobia will not be tolerated and will get deleted and blocked. sorry this is so long.

general:

rook and Davrin have a baby girl and name her Ophielia. dgaf, that's the name they chose.

the baby is somehow a perfect 50/50 split of them looks wise.

the team was ECSTATIC when they all found out. i mean, throws a huge baby shower with all the factions kind of ecstatic.

everyone was floored when the found out, but more on that later.

Harding dies in my canon, but we all know she would've been an amazing auntie.

Rook and Davrin are gentle parents. they definitely teach their daughter to be respectful. but don't think she can't and won't defend herself. (she gets her sass from Rook, and will not hesitate to kick someone's ass.)

Jace "Rook" De Riva

kiddo calls him dad.

was absolutely shocked when he found out that he was pregnant. i mean, he really shouldn't have been because we all know that elves are plucky breeders, him and Davrin go at it like rabbits.

admittedly panicked and went to Emmrich, who told him to go to an actual doctor.

decided to keep the baby, although was a bit nervous about stopping hormones. went back on them as soon as the baby was born.

absolutely SOBS when him and Davrin get gifts for the baby and always tells everyone that it's happy tears.

one time, he saw Assan do something cute and cried for an hour.

this guy absolutely gets annoyed (although he doesn't show it) whenever someone helps him. then he will immediately take nap after he's finished a chore.

wants the baby to have a matching stuffed animal, so he goes out and finds the EXACT same stuffed animal as his childhood stuffed animal for her. did not give his up though, cannot and will not part with that thing.

he's a side sleeper, so he gets one of those pillows that let him sleep on his side.

my Rook and HoF are cousins, so he went to my warden for parenting tips because him and Zevran have kids.

calls Davrin a dilf every five minutes.

he was so unbelievably nervous about having a kid after growing up in the Crows, but promised himself that he was going to give this kid the best childhood he could.

celebrates when he finds out that his daughter beat up a guy for being a creep.

Davrin

poor man felt terrible for getting Rook pregnant but was over the moon when he was told that Rook wanted to keep the baby.

definitely built his and Rooks house, so it's guaranteed that he built all of the furniture and everything. the house is big enough for him, Rook, the kid, Assan, and any other pets. (may or may not have carved little griffons into the baby's furniture.)

he was so prepared to have a kid after Assan. total dad material.

Davrin goes above and beyond for both Rook and their daughter, which has definitely earned him some teasing from Lucanis, Evka, and Antoine.

chose the name for the baby, Ophelia.

this motherfucker is cheesy, and hums to the baby while Rook is pregnant.

also sings to Ophelia.

convinces Rook to get a mabari, although that wasn't hard. literally only had to say, "let's get a mabari."

takes Ophelia on picnics with Assan and the dog. says it was Antoine and Evka's idea. (it was actually his.)

takes naps with Ophelia on his chest when she's a baby. his chesticles are a perfect baby pillow.

also calls Rook a dilf every five minutes.

he gets called pops.

Taash

has to make a conscious effort to NOT crush the baby when they first meet her. (Taash totally gets bad cuteness aggression and that is not talked about enough.)

definitely has a shirt that says, "#1 themcle" (them and uncle) and wears that shit loud and proud.

"HAVE YOU SEEN MY NIECE?" and "MY NIECE IS BETTER THAN YOURS."

wants to take the kid dragon hunting immediately and is told that they have to wait until the kid is older.

Taash definitely made Ophelia (again, the kids' name) a total dragon nerd.

gets sad sometimes because they know Harding would've loved this kid.

#1 cheerleader outside of Rook and Davrin.

they take Ophelia out to the Rivain Coast to feed the birds.

Taash and Isabella teach the kid how to do a proper pushup.

Neve Gallus

COOL WINE AUNT. totally lets Ophelia have wine when they hang out.

totally takes Ophelia shopping because, "i will not let my niece have a bad fashion taste."

uses the cutest nicknames ever. Lia, Opie, Fee. and not just nicknames based on the name either. think of any cute nickname and she probably uses it.

also uses "Baby Rook" as a nickname, too.

girls day with Ophelia and Bellara are a must.

skin care QUEEN. Rook is great with skin care, but Neve is at a whole new level.

her and Lucanis actually got pregnant around the same time as Rook and Davrin.

the two kids are besties.

Bellara Lutare

BELLARA IS LITERALLY THE SWEETEST AUNTIE EVER.

i feel like she would be really good with kids.

is so so so happy to have a family again. having a baby around helps her heart heal after seeing Cyrian die for a second time.

for sure accompanies Neve and Ophelia on shopping sprees. tells the kid to just wear what she wants because it doesn't matter if other people like it.

gets Ophelia into writing and journaling, but is pleasantly surprised when Ophelia starts scrapbooking.

her, Ophelia, and Rook scrapbook together on fridays.

is such a huge help when Ophelia gets her first period. not that Rook didn't know anything, but Bellara is a good deescalator.

Lucanis Dellamorte

bad influence, but in the best way possible.

"oh, you're getting bullied? kill them."

has to argue with Spite and tell him that that's a bad idea to do with a kid. but he does find some of Spite's ideas funny. (will be caught dead before admitting that out loud.)

did scare Ophelia one time when she was a baby. it was funny at first, but then he felt bad.

definitely tries to take Ophelia on a contract with him when she's like 5, but that was a hard no from Rook and Davrin.

Lucanis is so like Zevran, and will tell the kid stories about his contracts. (in the kid friendliest way possible.)

Emmrich Volkarin

go to babysitter.

also great with kids.

gives the best advice to Ophelia.

when Rook told him that he was pregnant, Emmrich bolted to tell the group.

but then had an oh shit moment and made something up on the spot.

him and Strife dote over the baby every. single. day.

totally has Manfred make toys for Ophelia.

tells Ophelia that having too many sweets can be bad but ends up eating a shit ton of cookies and brownies with her.

Teia Cantori and Viago De Riva

Viago is so excited to be an uncle.

"Uncle Vi" and "Auntie T"

Viago was the first to give Rook and Davrin baby gifts. got them so much.

i'm talking baby clothes, soft blankets, toys... everything.

Teia told Viago that he was going overboard, but she helped pick everything.

"Teia, my baby brother is having a baby."

they both definitely have a room in their respective homes dedicated to that baby.

much like Neve, these two are absolutely spoiling the kid with both items and love and affection. (so are all of them, to be honest.)

Viago is the first to meet the baby.

The rain silenced his footsteps.

It was late enough that as he crossed the gardens, no one should be in the chapel. Slipping behind a statue he stopped and listened, templars down in the lower courtyard gossiping. Pulling the collar of his jacket up, he waited until he could no longer hear their voices. Pushing off the statue he made his way up the stairs.

Lights filtered into his line of sight and he paused looking towards the wall with a soft sigh, bowing his head. "Lux in aeternum, may you find peace always beloved." His voice barely whispered yet raw from unshed tears of the day. Turning back towards the entrance of the chapel he quietly let himself.

Praying to Silence for the souls lost and would be lost didn't seem right. It was a blighted dragon and his decision after all. They were mostly worshippers of Andraste too from what he understood. His boots squeaked along the polished stone as he made his way to a pew. He mimicked the behaviors he had seen of friends more devoted to her than he could ever claim to be.

Kneeling down he reached into his bag pulling out small copy of the Southern Chant, his fingers trailing over the worn cover. It had been a gift from Varric when he mentioned having a hard time understanding the South. He quietly opened the book flipping through the canticles. Even as his mind tried to focus on the canticle he was looking for. It wandered to that song Ashur sang sometimes when the situation for the Lucerni turned Shadows looked bleak.

"Shadows fall and hope has fled..." The words slid out in his soft voice unaware of a pair of concerned eyes watching as for the first time in his life he prayed to a god he didn't wholly believe in. At some point the scent of the candles and myrrh filled the air of the chapel. His gaze lifted from his hands to see the previously unlit candles now flickering.

His shoulders tightened as he stayed kneeling, though a hand fell to a familiar abyss soaked dagger. A rustle of robes, and his eyes narrows as someone entered the pew.

"Let me join you?" For once. It was unsaid and his hand fell away from his dagger as he met those too teal eyes. "I don't know what I am doing." he admitted weakly and there was a warm reassurance. "It differs." He offered. Admittedly as much as Athras had hoped to do this alone, it was comforting that Ashur had found him even here. The one place he didn't go aside from work. He slowly started again and on the second verse his heart joined in with him a hand held out. He took it squeezing it as salt burned his eyes.

It had been longer and at some point he leaned against Ashur, as complicated as it all was, he was familiar. "The sun's coming up Athras, tomorrow will be a better day. Why don't you go rest in the apartment, Benefaris misses you." He might have had a quip but the idea of curling up in a familiar bed, and with Ashur's hound...it did make things feel a little more in his realm of problem solving.

"...maybe you can come check on me after services..." he offered to Ashur weakly, rising catching the concerned look and very quiet. I will.

Stepping out onto the throughfare he could see the sun rising. Dawn had come.
