“"I believe that Queen Fabiola of Belgium was an underrated bride. Her dress was truly iconic for the time, and the choice of tiara has deep significance, as it was the favourite tiara of her late mother-in-law, Queen Astrid of Belgium.” - Text & Image Submitted by cenacevedo15

can we please have your thoughts on lesbian diggianini? don't remember if you've talked about it before
Had to rotate them in my head for a bit because I had to get the right vibe.
Diggia (name Fabiola. Names are important to me) is your typical hey mama girl. She has an undercut, numerous rings on her fingers and a golden cross on her neck 24/7. As a fashion statement or whatever. Coatto scale score near the infinite. Used to have her hair short-ish (think Diggia in his blonde era) but now she has them longer, like to her shoulders? Anyway. Lesbian or bisexual I am not sure but as I say hey mama girl she has that kind of riz. Thirstraps to hell and back.
Enea (her name is Elena. As I said names are important) is kinda difficult to describe because she's a coatta. And now you may say but cate you have smaronato (annoyed us) to hell and back with the coattaggine we got it but the truth is that a ragazza coatta is different from a ragazzo coatto. She has a vibe. She chews her gum loudly in class. (and there is a gum. There's always a gum) she always makes stupid remarks and argues with teachers for no reasons at all and I want to hit her in the face. She has a nose and a belly button piercing and an undercut. She always dresses in sweats that she rolls down to expose her belly. (inspiration freely taken by one of my classmates). Bisexual icon but doesn't realise she is for a good chunk of her life.
They start their thing when Diggia says that boys don't know how to kiss properly and Elena (who has a boyfriend) goes mhm you think? Show me how you kiss. And it goes down from there. They have sex numerous times when they're older but it doesn't count (for Elena. I'm pretty sure Diggia does count it because she isn't as repressed as her male counterpart) because it is notorious that sex between girls isn't sex 🫶🏻 also Elena frequently has a boyfriend while this happens. And Diggia is a serial cheater on all her girlfriends just to have Elena's pussy. Rancid vibes all around they will get out of it sooner or later

10 Fandoms, 10 Characters, 10 Tags
Hi hi, I was tagged for this tag game by @robo-dino-puppy ages ago!! Like... literal months ago now. I'm so sorry, I didn't realize how long it had been, I hope you don't mind me getting to it now if it's not too awkward! I really do appreciate the tag a lot, thank you!!! :D I still wanted to do this for fun even if I'm terribly late 💔
(I'm not gonna try to make this a list of my favorite characters because I'm so bad at making decisions lol but instead here's some characters I wanna give some much needed appreciation to!)
1) Kuon Ichinose (Persona 5 Strikers)
Tumblr media
Of course there's another P5 character deserving of this spot, but I chose Ichinose because she's been on my mind again and she's so underappreciated! She's perfect and I won't hear any criticism towards her ❤️ I played P5S for her. Don't get me wrong, I was very happy to see the PTs again and it was fun to meet the Monarchs. But mostly. I knew I was gonna like her. All my friends knew I was gonna like her. No one was surprised. I'm getting dragged off stage before I can keep rambling on-
2) Sylens (Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West)
Tumblr media
My favorite old man... He is just so funny. And interesting! I want to know his backstory, where he came from, why he is the way he is. He did all of that, but did you not have fun? Did you not learn about the power of friendship? Exactly, relax. He's good at comments and quips. Ladies love comments and quips, and they go nuts for asides. And since I made a CXGF reference, on that note-
3) Valencia Pérez (Crazy Ex Girlfriend)
Tumblr media
One of my favorite characters even in a cast full of amazing, memorable characters that rarely misses! I'm obsessed with her homoerotic rivals-to-friends arc with Rebecca btw. I still think they should have kissed. Uhhh I mean, they did kiss, that was a significant thing that happened, I just think they should've kissed again in a different context. I have opinions on that and on Valencia's (and pretty much everyone else's) season 4 arc but I'll spare you for now ❤️
4) Amity Blight (The Owl House)
Tumblr media
I know, I know, not to say what everyone else and their mothers have already said about it but this is the kinda show that makes me wish I had had it while I was growing up. I like basically the entire main cast, but I chose Amity because I really can't tell you how much of an emotional rollercoaster her arc was for me. But I love her and of course her relationship with Luz absolutely killed me.
5) Toph Beifong (Avatar the Last Airbender)
Tumblr media
When I came on here and said I had finally watched ATLA I was waitinggggg for someone to ask me who my favorite character was. But you know what they say, when you're an adult you don't stop having a favorite character but people do stop asking 😔💔 Not really that much to say, though! I just enjoy it when she's onscreen ^^
6) Lake (Infinity Train)
Tumblr media
It's so hard to choose just one favorite from this show. I didn't even realize I had forgotten how much I loved everyone until I started rewatching it with Sol (especially Atticus, Amelia, Grace, and Lake though 💞). Anyways here's Lake "I am a person I'm not Tulip I'm not foil I'm not reflection I'm not a sliver I'm not a null I'm not any of the hundreds of names everyone wants to give me" they/them nonbinary icon
7) Miles Morales (Into and Across the Spiderverse)
Tumblr media
What can I say that hasn't already been said before? ❤️ ITSV is one of my favorite movies (long overdue for a rewatch tbh) and Miles is just such an amazing character all around. I've said it before, but, even with all of the spider people in ATSV, he was still the highlight to me! He deserves the world, I'll kick Miguel's ass if necessary, idc.
8) Fabiola Torres (Never Have I Ever)
Tumblr media
My daughter... I'm so sad that she suffers from the protagonist's best friend syndrome :( She's even wearing star pajamas in the gif, she's just like me fr! Except she's a genius! Her best friend is a robot! She's so cute and earnest ;-; I would watch a show all about her ❤️ Even if her arcs don't get as explored as I would like, I love her interactions with the other characters and I especially connected to her arc about feeling alienated from the queer community.
9) Constance Blackwood (Ride the Cyclone)
Tumblr media
Also my daughter ❤️ The highlight of RTC to me, without a doubt!! Her monologue really hit me right in the heart... She's just like me fr fr! She deserves so much better. She's everything. And her toxic homoerotic friendship with Ocean is very real, it's happening right now somewhere near you.
10) Shahara Hasan (Bodies)
Tumblr media
It's been a while since I watched this show so I'm not as desperate to talk about it anymore, but it really did make me so incredibly insane while I was watching it, trust me. Anyways, never have I been more sure that a character suffered more than Jesus and I don't say that lightly. Her trying her best to sympathize with Elias and nearly getting through to him broke my heart... Tragedy enjoyers when some horrible fucked up guy absolutely shatters the one person who reached out to save him, ig.
Tagging: I'm not gonna make it to ten tags lol. I'm tagging @meep-m33p, @soliscital, @woolmasterleel, and @inkpens-coffee, but absolutely no pressure to do it of course!! Also, to anyone else who wants to do this, feel free to tag me as your tagger!!

I'm too sober to have this discussion. (I'm the one with the purple hair icon.)
I like Aneesa fine, but there are plenty of things to complain about her character, like the fact that she kissed Fabiola while she was still with Ben, or the fact that she hardly has an arc at all, or her barely being in season four, but no. Let's focus on her being both Muslim and being apart of the LGBT community. That's where we should draw the line. (/Sarcasm)
I hope this doesn't offend anybody. I apologize and will delete if it does.

My Style Analysis: Cyclical Iconic Fashion and a Missed Prom
Originally posted on Reddit
Anyone notice something about Devi's prom dress? Something retro?
Tumblr media
The chiffon, long flowing dress, the neckline, the ruffles, the florals and pinks feel very retro. Like very 1970s (look I know per ShopYourTV that it's a recent find from Nordstrom's) maybe 70s does 30s...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In fact Devi's dress slightly reminded me of Marge Simpson's prom dress in "The Way We Was" which was set in 1974, 49 years before Nalini almost had a heart attack seeing her daughter and Ben in bed together (albeit with clothes on). It's all there: the pink, the apparently lightweight fabric (chiffon or rayon or polyester or a combination, that was a staple of the era), the ruffles around the neck. Marge's pink dress (surely from Gunne Sax, which was fondly remembered by Boomers and Gen Xers alike) and Homer's baby blue tuxedo were so iconic that they were made into figurines.
In fact Devi's dress falls into good company with some other examples I listed in a old post on Tumblr about this frilly, utterly feminine aesthetic in fact I want to show another Mad Men example and one from the 1930s period piece The Group (1966).
Tumblr media
Every outfit looks so floaty here and these were promos for episodes set in 1970, thankfully our girls up there have much happier endings than the former Mrs. Drapers.
Tumblr media
Here is your 1930s example with The Group, which focuses on graduates of a Seven Sisters college as they navigate adult life in Depression era America and the patriarchy (it's rough as hell). The brunette in black is future Lucille Bluth, the late Jessica Walter. Bonum est mulier.
Eleanor's look sort of reminds me of: Cher, Selena, and Liz Taylor. All very iconic women who followed their passions boldly and became icons without blindly following trends set for either fashion or for their gender.
Tumblr media
(EDIT: Much better example)
As for Fabi? Well the tuxedo is pure androgyny. Calling to the OG ladies in a suit, Bessie Smith (EDIT: Gladys Bentley) and Marlene Dietrich and Annie Lennox
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All these women flouted restrictions regarding gender expression admidst the jeers of conservatives, pearl-clutchers, white supremacists, Jim Crow, fatphobia, and one even told Hitler to go fuck himself (okay maybe not those words but you get the gist).
The red may be a call back to predominantly African-American men in the media donning a red suit, as noted in u/eve_salmon's "A Cinematic Guide to The Weekend Pt. 3", Rat Pack member Sammy Davis Jr. (known for a flashy yet very traditionally masculine sense of style) donned a red suit for the film Poor Devil, whom like Fabi, was Black and queer in an era that was even more racist and queerphobic than the present. We also see Richard Pryor (comedian for those not in the know) donning a red suit along with Joe Pesci in Goodfellas and Casino. The red is likely a sign of pure confidence and defiance, keep in mind that Pesci's characters and Pryor (as well as Davis) grew up in eras where looking a white person in the eye can get a Black person made past tense to use a TikTok phrase and where Italian Americans were still looked down upon, so dressing well and in a manner that commands attention was a act of resistance.
Both examples of Marginalized Men in Red Suits and Gender-Bending Women Looking Sharp-Dressed, speaks well to Fabiola's own development as a character and taking ownership of her identity in a world that tells you to be a laundry list of things to be acceptable (be girly, be outgoing, be into pop culture, be straight, listen to your parents, focus on what boys like, fade into the background, wear uncomfy formalwear that ain't you) and points for the series highlighting HBCUs as up there with the Ivies; where the Ivies represent mainstream power, the HBCUs represent how a community managed to carve their own space to let it's members thrive and accomplish more (also while Princeton waited until 1969 and Columbia until 1983 to accept women, Howard been doing that since it's founding!), what better place for Fabiola whose journey is about owning her sense of self?
What can Iconic Lady Joan Holloway say, well I can think of her Bonwit Teller shopping spree where she decides what to take with her fabulous black dress with ostritch feather cuffs: "I'll take the boots, the tan heels, the chiffon (in a cooing voice), the red (even more cooing), and this (to her flamboyant dress)", in other words, she approves.

My longtime Canadian friend Amanda Krosse made this artwork of Demri. My equally long time friend Fabiola shared this over 10 years ago on her FB page. I recently “re-discovered” it on my camera roll from 2011. • Fabiola Gonzales is Demri’s longtime friend who she modeled with. They stayed close friends up until her passed on October 29, 1996. I saw Fab, Mara and Amber at Demri’s youngest brother Dave’s Celebration of Life 10 days ago. It had been way too long since I’d seen them all together. I had missed them and grateful I got to see them. When I see artwork of Demri, it reminds me to continue creating and using my imagination. That’s exactly what she did. • • Artist: Amanda Krosse —————————————————- #nehistripesseattle #demriparrott #demrilaraparrott #demriparrottmurphy #demrinlayne #gonetoosoon #icons #iconic #legacy #beautiful #angelic (at Seattle, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/Clz1KoPrmVo/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
