Right after Valerie sees plasmius as Vlad he notices her. Obviously he can’t have that. Danny knowing was one thing. But to allow another. He won’t let that stand.
Don’t ask why he has one. But he shot her with a weapon designed to transport others elsewhere. He didn’t bother to test where. Just knows it’s not earth.
Danny and Ellie watch as Valerie gets shot and disappears.
Valerie ends up smack dab in the middle of either a justice league meeting or a legion of doom meeting.
Let chaos commence as both Danny and Ellie try to get Valerie back. And Valerie is just trying to get back to amity. She has a mayor to confront.

Ok as long as I'm also begging God to shape games in my favorite series [plural] in a specific way. Please for the love of fuck let the next fire emblem game (not counting the genealogy remake if that is indeed happening. the next original one whenever that is) PLEASE take notes from Engage's gameplay and not 3H's
please I'm fucking begging Engage had the best gameplay the series has seen in forever I don't care what they do with the story and supports and everything but if they choose to make the gameplay more like 3H than engage just because 3H sold well I WILL find out who made that decision, break into their house and decapitate myself in front of them while their family tries to eat breakfast
#if i have to sit through another FE where the actual tactics gameplay has been made as boring as fucking possible#i do not CARE how good the writing ostensibly is because FE writing always falls apart if you glance at it for more than five minutes#with the exception of tellius and jugdral and if you want to be really generous maybe part of elibe#but at least 65% of the series is 'look this is written like crap can we just skip to the reveal of which dragon is responsible this time'#CONVERSELY JUST LEAN INTO THE WHATEVER WRITING IF YOU HAVE TO AND MAKE THE GAMEPLAY GOOD#i'm not even talking about BALANCING the game properly i have no expectations of THAT lmao#even engage as fun as the maps and mechanics are the balancing was still laughable. kagetsu why did they make you into God#BUT I CAN OVERLOOK THEIR INABILITY TO BALANCE CHARACTERS PROPERLY. JUST MAKE THE MAPS GOOD#GIVE ME INTERESTING TACTICAL OPTIONS AND NO COMPLETE FREE FOR ALL CLASS CHANGE#if we ever get another game where 'make everyone into a wyvern lord' can legitimately be considered a semi-optimized strategy. ill die#and ill be very mad about it.

#today as both been a very good and a very worrying day#I got the $10k grant I asked for from one of the prominent research forums for work in Europe and the Middle East this coming fall/winter#(plus with what they’re giving I can finally buy a brand new MacBook - mine is 7 years old. has traveled and been through so much. 1 BA 1 MA#first 3 years of a PhD. 1 new battery. and I live in fear of it dying any day. so that gives me so much relief and security)#but the north african studies associations I applied to for manuscript tutoring and archive funding all paused grants this year#so i have to rely exclusively on the Jewish studies foundation associated with my uni to give me everything for that#otherwise I can’t do it and I’ll have to move my whole June-December schedule around#and it will majorly fuck up how the initial steps of my dissertation research and drafting are mapped out#not great. especially when they don’t give decisions until mid May#there’s nothing to do but grin bear it and pray though#at least one of the two major things has gone right and I’ll have reliable hardware#plus something new and fancy to put on my CV#me stuff#not the stones

#beware the tags#oh no the vampire spawn is falling in love with the spider princess#also you will never guess where i got inspo from#yeah it was the man from uncle#i will make him look *more* lovesick dont worry. this is gonna rival my martin/hok stuff bc god#i still have not finished his quest bc i know its gonna make me step away from the game for probably 3 days while i recover#ugghhhh i am gonna scream! bc like the fucking headcanons i have about him and my evil little mermaid tav#she's never seen the ocean. bc menzoberanzzan. so when they finally get to the city she's like fuckin. struck by it.#never seen anything so big in her life. so to explain my running along the coast for hours to unfog the map i imagine he's humoring tav#and acting exasperated by her fascination with the water but he secretly thinks is adorable#and she doesn't know how to navigate a city like baldurs gate. bc where are the spires? the stalagmites? where are the stairs?#so he (knowing the city so well) has to basically be her guide/lead her through the whole thing otherwise it would take them 3 years#to find anything.#MEANWHILE she's having a crisis grieving over her recently dead spouse and fleeing her home for failing her 5th trial#and wants revenge on lolth of all things#so they make a little 'revenge pact' to each other but she's being slowly shown signs of eilistraee and having trouble letting go#bc she can never return home. and she misses her baby brother terribly bc he's only 12 and all 6 of her other siblings are not nice#and she's either gonna take the crown to become a god or have a breakdown at night by the water where she decides to move on#they can make each other better they can make each other so much worse

#like a reminder of oh yeah there is someone in my life that makes me feel the way people feel when they fall in love in fanfic#but she’s straight so I have to just constantly overwrite that to be normal#and it’s been fine I’ve been fine#did a little cognitive behavioral therapy over it kind of fine like legitimately can cope with the emotion now#but something about CC’s particular brand of repression and self loathing is a little too specifically relatable to me#especially in all the Fran x cc I just tore through#so now I need to just kind of sit with these feelings for another night I guess#by the morning it will ache less it always does#it’s times like these that I remember I actually process feelings very poorly without fictional narratives to map my own experiences onto#and then it’s suddenly really easy to understand why I feel the way I do#is this an autism thing?

Ive gotten so used to not being able to play most games bc of my hands and reaction time n stuff so ive basically gotten used to hitting a ceiling in a game where i can't play normally anymore and need to use assists/cheats so every time i find a game that i Don't need to do that for whenever it ends im just like wait huh thats it???
#cannot decide if Jusant was too short or it's just more accessible than I'm used to so i was able to blaze through it-#either way i would love another game with mechanics like Jusant the climbing was so fluid and satisfying#i thought with my directional confusion n shit i wouldn't be able to get it#but i got a controller and the joysticks and trigger buttons REALLY help with that somehow???#and i managed to get to a point where i was just spidering up walls in seconds#i wanna play more so im actually kind of glad i missed collectibles#this is why you dont 100% run on your first playthrough so you have More Fun to have with it later#i play most games for The Movement (something i Very Much Cannot Do A Lot Of irl) bc its satisfying to Zoom#and that game just has a really solid climbing mechanic its so fun#and so easy to like. make it easier on yourself somehow.#like using pitons to anchor yourself halfway up a wall and then just rappel down to the previous ledge#to regain stamina and then just reel yourself back up to that anchor and keep going#or you can use a piton to just dangle and assess your surroundings#as well as stamina doesnt drain unless you're in motion or under duress (like from weather) so you can pause and look around#plus it's just very fun to climb up this big ol stack and look down and see Wow! I Fuckin Did That!#bc each section is just one real big map so you can fall from top to bottom (of each section)#if you could fall i dont think. the game lets you#cause i tested and if you're not tethered you just do not walk off ledges#which is also nice i like that too it makes me less anxious

palworld has me in a chokehold and all i have to say is: harder
#literally loving the game#so fucking much#crashes are a bit irritating but i don't lose really any progress to it#some areas of the map are completely inaccessible bc i keep clipping through the ground :/#and i can't go in any dungeons but i'm v hopeful for further patches and updates#like i feel the pros outweigh the cons personally so it's been an absolute fantastic experience#Falling Apart And Coming Together#Palworld

Had an idea to mix my love of world building with wanting to write a cozy romance and the wip is called "The Explorer's Guide to (insert fantasy land name here)."
#personal#idk if it's going to go anywhere#last year i had an idea for a high fantasy lovecraftian thing about a gardener and a werewolf tinkerer sort and it stopped#because of plot#plot always slows me down because i insist on making it this big grand thing#what was the werewolf/gardener one leading up to? a damned kaiju level fight#idk i was interested in that but every time it's time to buckle down and write the overarching foundation of the story#you know whats getting them out into the world to begin with#i slow down drastically#in this story two people fleeing the capital join a group intending to map out a safe route through the world#from one capital to the next#the guide has things like how to deal with illness on the road and avoid frostbite#but also what herbs make great mixtures for curing petrifaction via harmful magic#while it's all mostly focused on these two people learning to face and live with their trauma and falling in love in the process

i love half life now if u couldn’t tell
#i’m sure u can#i beat it yesterday :))))#i had to de condition myself from modern gaming stuff to actually make progress#because with modern games there’s often invisible collision boxes in small corners so you don’t escape the map#but Half Life doesn’t have that problem#going through small corners and trying the boundaries where you can go is how you get through!!!#it’s a small thing but i thought it was super neat#i MIGHT play blue shift and opposing force? but apparently those are just remakes of the game from separate perspectives#very tempted tho. i’m falling in love with the series very very quickly#txt
