2024 Art Summary 🪷

Irrelevant picture but, anyone who is here from AO3, I am going on hiatus for a while. 2025 has not been kind to my family and it's taking a toll. There has already been one death this year, and I now have two family members with terminal cancer. There's more going on and it's just all piled up. I need time to focus on my family and grieve the losses I've already felt this year.

I will be back and I will finish You're (Not) My Neighbour. I love that fic so much and I want to be in the right place emotionally to write the funny, dramatic, lovingly stupid ending I have for it in my head. I'll see you all at the ending, when I'm ready to get there. In the meantime though, I'll probably still be shitposting through my grief here. Lol

Feb 28 - baked a loaf of triple wheat bread. For supper I made burgers and a big salad.

Mar 1 - ran all my monthly backups.

For the crochet hoodie, I have ended up frogging the sleeve entirely. Again. The fit was coming out weird, and I had an idea for a different way to set it in which I tested on the other armhole with some leftover yarn. While doing that I had the sudden painful realization that one of the problems with the first sleeve is that the way I'd started it off had added a bunch of extra stitches in (about half again as many as were actually needed), so it was deeply flawed from the start. Argh. So after I'd finished testing the new idea (which seems workabIe) I ripped both back out and restarted from scratch. I'm only two rows into it yet it's already looking considerably better than the previous attempts. No weird outwards flare at the shoulder for one, so the sleeve diameter isn't starting off ridiculously oversized.

For supper I braised some pork chops with onions, apples, white wine and rosemary. Served them with carrots and potatoes.
