hi
i made a short sweet guide about playing D&D since i feel like the player handbook can be confusing for new players. this was mainly made for my fellow bylers lololol . it kind of is a guide on how to use the book as well as what to know to prepare you for your first D&D session.
you can find it here:)

how did jerk!ford seduce bud gleeful in the first place?1!?!1?
Tumblr media
The cheating was the straw that broke the camels back. Mrs. Gleeful and Buds marriage was already on the rocks because Bud enabled Gideon which underminded her attempts at stricter parenting and made her look like the bad guy to their out of control son who was already displaying an entitled attitude towards women at a young age.
Jerk Ford has really high charisma he just uses it to annoy and enrage people, and be the worst person in the room instead of the best.
He can use it to be charming, but he never does for good reasons (like in this case).
Jerk Ford's uses the DnD version of Charisma so lets go over what his stats might look like in the DnD 5th Edition sense:
Stats:

Abilities:

Skills:

Before someone tries to tell me that Jerk Ford can't be a Bard I'm just gonna throw in there that canonically Ford is really good at the Piano.
And no, Jerk Ford would not get Bud drunk. Just because he's a jerk doesn't mean he doesn't know or believe in consent, he's not evil.
Stan tried telling Bud he should try to get Gideons entitled and incel-like behaviour under control or else it would be more of a problem in the future.
Bud didn't, and because of his inaction Jerk Ford has ruined his business, rearranged his guts, convinced his wife finally leave his *ss, beat him to the point of hospitalization, and now being around either of the Stan twins makes him feel a weird sense of being scared but also aroused.
Buds gonna crack down on Gideon after Weirdmageddon (This would reconcile him and his wife).

Using my character Nathan from my Curse of Strahd campaign for my first Baldur's Gate playthrough. Based on his own anecdotal evidence he can assure you, killing a vampire is easy, actually.

So, I have decided to spend a long sleepless night creating a personality quiz based on the factions of Sigil in d&d's planescape setting!
(The sleeplessness was unrelated. mostly.)
Indulge my mental illness and feel free to let me know what result you got!

CALLING ALL D&D PLAYERS AND DUNGEON MASTERS
Are you having trouble scheduling a dnd session? Do you want to let loose in a way your DM won't allow? Have you imagined yourself trapped in a hole? Do you want to play dnd, but have no one to play with?
I'm prototyping a FREE solo-focused Dungeons & Dragons supplement right now, and would hugely appreciate if you would check it out!
(Because it's just a prototype, the page requires the password fathoms to access)

I think home brewing spells in dnd is really fun, but something I don’t see a lot at other tables!! It’s kind of a right of passage at the table I play at to do so and it’s been really fun! So here’s the list so far!
Voss’ Wondrous Time Capsule
3rd level dunamancy (ritual)
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: touch
Components: V, S, M (2 gold (one pound) of wax of which the spell consumes, and a chest no bigger than 2 foot by 3 foot in which the spell does not consume)
Duration: One Year
Classes: Wizard, Bard
You seal a chest shut with magic, suspending the inanimate objects inside in time for up to one year. The spell can be prepared in advance and only activates upon the chest being closed. The spell is broken early if the wax seal is broken and the chest opened.
Revoking Repose
3rd level necromancy (ritual)
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M (a pinch of salt and an amulet depicting an eye)
Duration: 1 day
Classes: Wizard, Cleric, (Circle of Spores)
You touch a creature and for the duration, the target is protected from decay and can’t become undead.
Voss’ Time Coffin
7th level dunamancy (ritual)
Casting Time: 1 hour
Range: touch
Target: one medium creature or smaller
Components: V, S, M (200 gold (one hundred pounds) of wax of which the spell consumes, 100 gold worth of gold dust of which the spell consume, an ornate coffin worth at least 1000 gold of which the spell does not consume)
Duration: One Hundred Years
Classes: Wizard, Bard
You seal a coffin shut with magic and wax, suspending a creature of medium or smaller size inside in time for 100 years. The spell can be prepared in advance and only activates upon the coffin being closed. The spell is broken early if the wax seal is broken and the coffin opened.
At Higher Levels: When casting the spell at 8th level the time frame is 500 years, and at 9th indefinite or a specified time.
Voss’ Malediction
8th level necromancy
Casting Time: 1 actions
Range: 60 feet
Target: a creature you can see
Components: V, S
Duration: One Day
Classes: Wizard, Warlock, Bard, Druid, (Death Cleric)
You utter a curse that targets the body of a creature you can see. It takes 4d10 necrotic damage and must pass a Con saving throw or be cursed. The curse stops the creature from regaining spent spell slots, abilities, health, and other miscellaneous effects it would have gained from resting.
The spell can also be ended by greater restoration, heal, or wish.
Voss’ Malison
8th level necromancy
Casting Time: 1 actions
Range: 60 feet
Target: a creature you can see
Components: V, S
Duration: Five Days
Classes: Wizard, Warlock, Bard, Druid, (Death Cleric)
You utter a curse that targets the mind of a creature you can see. It takes 4d10 psychic damage and must pass a Wis saving throw or be cursed. The curse makes the target unable to rest properly and accumulate a point of exhaustion for each day it is under the spell.
The spell can also be ended by greater restoration, heal, or wish.
Draconic Roar
3rd level transmutation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 30 foot diameter
Target: self
Components: V
Duration: Instantaneous
Classes: Sorcerer, Wizard, Bard
Calling upon a draconic essence you let out a mighty roar.
Each creature of the caster’s choice that is within a 30 foot diameter of the caster must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the spell’s affect for the next 24 hours.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the diameter increases by 10 foot per level.
Lightning Trap
5th level transmutation
Casting Time: 1 reaction
Range: 300 feet
Target: self
Components: V, S, M (a one foot rod of metal, of which the spell does not consume)
Duration: Instantaneous
Classes: Sorcerer, Wizard, Druid (Storm Cleric)
At the flash of lightning you raise your hand to the heavens and catch it. Upon your next turn releasing it back as an attack.
Any spell or effect that does lightning damage you can force to target yourself. In the case of cone or area of affects it becomes centered on you. For the duration you are immune to lighting damage. As an action on your next turn you can make a ranged spell attack which does the amount of damage it would have done to you. If the magic is not released in your turn it dissipates into the atmosphere.

Mildly unhinged D&D NPC idea
A formerly Chaotic Evil beholder, who was affected by a Helm Of Opposite Alignment (or maybe the Balance card from a Deck Of Many More Things) and thus became Lawful Good, eventually taking vows as a paladin of Ilmater under the Oath of Devotion
(This would be a hilarious deus-ex-machina/big damn heroes to drop on an unsuspecting party! XD Especially if one or more of them were also sworn to Ilmater, hehehehe :D)
(Not sure how a beholder would work as a player character -- could get a bit OP -- but that's an option too, for sufficiently creative players and DMs ^^)
(A beholder paladin would have to change 'Lay On Hands' to 'Lay On Eyestalk' -- not sure how the Smite spells would work, though, since beholders can't hold swords...)
