Much as a pilot might practice maneuvers in a flight simulator, scientists might soon be able to perform experiments on a realistic simulation of the mouse brain. In a new study, Stanford Medicine researchers and collaborators used an artificial intelligence model to build a “digital twin” of the part of the mouse brain that processes visual information. The digital twin was trained on large datasets of brain activity collected from the visual cortex of real mice as they watched movie clips. It could then predict the response of tens of thousands of neurons to new videos and images. Digital twins could make studying the inner workings of the brain easier and more efficient.

#our files are so disorganized but we have a bunch of them saved to a dropbox file #the clinical model is letting you all down. if we had our shit together we would welcome you into the warm embrace of our radical ideology #but in the meantime if you all are interested in free books to start managing your own recovery with or without a therapist #let us know #call it an interest check #we love piracy and we especially love doing it for our friends #we have podcast recs and links to some really foundational CPTSD recovery pieces too #we can maybe tell you what approaches to check out depending on what you need because that's hard to know without a lot of research #personality disorders aren't actually clearcut definitions so much as they are expressions of trauma that have been unnecessarily categoriz #they are prescriptive and serve power rather than the person who has them and fail to take the actual mechanics of trauma into account #the DSM-V would shrink to thirty pages if it reflected the growing understanding of CPTSD and maybe therapy would actually work #but in the meantime we have ourselves and we have each other #and we have free books #idk just let us know

saw a tweet that pointed out that rei’s speakers are a ref to seele from evangelion and that’s like, a whole can of worms i need time to unpack lmao but one thing i noticed about rei’s speakers now that i’ve been told i should really be looking at them lmao was the text underneath those zeros!!!! the rhyme anima➕ art book included the back of the speakers in a small png, so it was previously unreadable for me, but!!!!

after some finagling to get a clear enough shot, from what i can see, that says hypnosismic -authentic- 零式 which translates to ‘type zero’. in eva, seele is a basically an oversight organisation, presumably made of 12 members (in reference to jesus’s 12 disciples) and it’s also assumed each number represents when each member joined the organisation. zero type i think implies this plenty on its own lol but coupled with that ref, maybe the mic rei’s been using this whole time is the very first ever completed mic, something outside of what he created for chuuoku 🤔

Remember when i was making that clay figure of 035? Well the paints I ordered for it finally came.

It looks better in person, but I’m super happy with how it’s turning out so far. I want to wait for this to dry properly and then seal it in before I paint the tears and whatnot bc that is going to be so difficult

Here’s the body, which is still drying. Why, you may ask, am I precariously balancing it on the edge of my desk? Tbh I have nowhere else I can put it. Everywhere else has stuff already placed there.

I need to mix up the right orange for the jumpsuit. I’ll probably do that over the weekend or next week. After that I can seal everything in and huzzah! My first clay figure!
