What would each Ducks favorite Halloween-themed movie be? Like, who's watching Casper or Coraline or Friday the 13th?

Ok so I know it took me a while to respond to this, but thank you for waiting! Without further ado!

Ok so I started this by breaking down who can decide horror and who can't. I feel like Goldberg refuses anything too scary. Guy will watch horror movies, but they're not his favorite. Everyone else can handle real horror.

Kenny: I am starting off with Kenny cause I headcanon that he is a horror movie buff. He loves all things horror and Halloween. To the point that people outside his circle sometimes think he's a witch. So, as far as movies he loves everything. However, his two favorite films are Ju-on: The Grudge and Hellraiser. He does like the remake of The Grudge, but the orginal japanese verison is his favorite. As far as Hellraiser, he loves the monster design. It was the first movie to really distrub him.

Adam: Adam, Julie, Kenny, and Connie have horror movies marathons every halloween. Adam's favorite movies are paranormal horror. He is a big fan of what you don't see is scarier than what you do see. So his favorite movie is The Haunting (1963), but he also loves The Changeling (1980) because of the mystery of it. Adam also favors older horror movies.

Julie: Julie loves zombie movies! Her favorite is the original Dawn of the Dead. She is adament it is the best zombie movie because it gave so much to the modern day zombie. Besides that she also loves 28 Days Later because of how it changed up the genre and made zombies fast and more dangerous. She is one of the few people who will watch anything.

Connie: Connie is a fan of scream queens and women led movies. Her two favorite films are Carrie and Halloween. She has alot of sympathy for Carrie and cheered at the revenge scene. As for Halloween, it was the first movie to actually scare her. She loves Jamie Lee Curtis and the scene where Michael comes back up after she stabs him will forever chill her.

Jesse: Jesse isn't really afaird of horror movies and he likes them more for the stories and actors. His two favorite horror movies are Candyman and Day of the Dead. He loves that Day of the Dead was so revolutionary. His favorite part of Candyman is the visuals. He thinks it scary, but in a stylistic way.

Dean: Dean loves gory horror movies! His favorite ones are Nightmare on Elm Street and The Thing. He is the kind of person who gets hyped by these kind of movies. Like he is on the edge of his seat but he's also grinning.

Averman: Averman and Russ are total horror comedy fans. For Averman his two favorite are Beetlejuice and Young Frankenstein. He likes the wit and humor that comes with these movies. He will also quote beetlejuice constantly.

Russ: As for Russ, his two favorite movies are The Game and Scooby Doo on Zombie Island. He loves the music of Scooby Doo and how unnerving it is for a kids movie. When it comes to The Game, he loves how it messes with the main character. He will literally laugh at the end of the movie.

Luis: Luis only has one favorite horror movie. It is The Devil's Backbone. He watched it originally in spanish. It is his favorite cause it covers real horror like war. It also has a mystery which he likes. He and Kenny are the foreign horror movie fans so they often give each other suggestions.

Fulton: I can see Fulton being a slasher fan. He is a simple man and his two favorite movies are classic slashers. Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street. He and Dean have had several debats on who is the superior slasher.

Dwayne: Dwayne likes corny horror movies. His two favorite horror movies are Killer Clowns from Outer Space and Gremlins. He likes how out there the movies are. He also enjoys more family friendly halloween movies like Casper. He cried when the dad gets revived.

Charlie: Charlie likes ghost horror movies for halloween. His two favorite are The Sixth Sense and The Shining. He really enjoys how they show the ghosts. He will watch almost anything except excessive gore.

Goldberg: Goldberg can't stand scary movies. So he favors family friendly halloween movies. His favorite is It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. He finds it heartwarming. Other than that he loves Halloweentown and wishes he could actually go there.

Guy: Guy is a romantic through and through so his halloween movies have a touch of romance. So his two favorites are The Addams Family and Corpse Bride. He loves Gomez and Morticia and it makes him laugh. The Corpse Bride made him cry.

I feel like they all watch certain movies together like Hocus Pocus, but that's more about spending tiem with each other.

It's fine he was totally fine and besides, isn't the point of like, every sport except baseball "Slam Into The Other Person As Hard As You Can" so really every interaction on the hockey field is with intent to harm I think. Basically I think that either the referee is an idiot or he must have been paid off because how come he notices when Fulton breaks the rules and not when the Hawks do? Coincidence? I think NOT! Everything is a conspiracy except baseball which is 2 smaller conspiracies in a trenchcoat.

"your'e playing hard, i'm proud of you guys." coach orion reassured as he patted russ on the shoulder.

"they're cheap shotting us to death!" luis groaned.

"i know they are, i know they are." orion sympathized.

"It's gonna take a miracle for us to hold on." averman replied. little did the ducks know that "miracle" would be a little more unexpected then they thought.

suddenly, the door burst open revealing a tall brunette with a bandana around his head. dean portman.

"dean portman is awarded a full athletic and academic scholarship to the eden hall academy," dean read off his maroon folder. "i found this lying around at home in chicago, my attorny thought i should sign it, and i agreed." he continued. "it's offical boys, im back!" he exclaimed as all the ducks cheered, especially fulton. his heart broke the day that his best friend dean, and the love of his life, y/n had to go back to chicago. he was ecstatic at the sudden appearance of his fellow bash brother. but if dean was here...then where was y/n?

"hey you ass, where'd you go?" a voice spoke in the doorway. fulton could recognize that voice from anywhere. y/n. the voice was further identified when she herself wandered into the room. fulton was beyond shocked, jovial and he felt that he might have a heart attack because of how much was happening. in no time at all, y/n was in fultons arms their lips interlocked.

"did you miss me?" y/n teased, as fulton rolled his eyes, kissing her once again. dean looked partially disgusted.

"what the hell. why didn't i get one?" dean joked, activly trying to piss y/n off. the girl gave her brother the bird as the ducks laughed and watched the cute reunion. russ and averman made jokes in the background and snickered.

"oh, fulton! i missed you so much mwah mwah mwah." averman said in a feminine high pitched voice, as he faked kissing noises. russ continued with the bit presumably as fulton.

"i missed you too, babe." he said also mimicking kissing sounds. the ducks snickered. fulton proceeded to threaten the two.

"will you shut the hell up before i give you pucks for teeth?" he said. averman and russ laughed, as they stopped the bit. fulton turned his attention back to y/n now answering her question. '

"of course i missed you, you were gone for like ever." he exaggerated. but that's what it felt like for the couple.

"the phone calls weren't the same." he frowned softly.

"yeah, 'specially WHEN DEANS BREATHING ON THE OTHER LINE." y/n raises her voice as she turns back to dean.

"why didn't you call me and tell me you were coming?" he asked her,

"cause this was way more fun." she replied, a goofy grin on their faces. "you can't get rid of me that easily." she said.

'i'd hate to intrude on your little love fest but we got a bunch of temperamental man children's asses to kick." russ chimed in.

the ducks all cheered as they made their way on the ice.

"is that dean portman?" the teenage announcer asked. the crowd was in unbelief, "oh and his sister, y/n! they're both back!" he exclaimed.

"who are those kids? they cant play!" tom exclaimed. "they're on scholarship tom, my hands are tied." dean buckley replied.

"so you're the big enforcer, huh? well its nice to meet you, see, we have a lot more in common then you think-" dean rambled.

"shut up." the warrior spat, "lets play hockey," he said.

"whatever you say sunshine," dean shrugged, the game continued as dean ended up making cole go through the glass, shattering it.

dean and fulton cheered as they banged their heads together. "the bash brothers are back and they're here to stay and so is "y/n "the firecracker" portman, as she scores goal one for the ducks!" the announcer called out and boy was fulton beyond happy with it.

if he’s explained something a few times and they still don’t get it he’ll just try it a different way until they get it and work them through the problem

“ Hey Dean do you think y/n would like this?” “Of course man I know my sister and I know she’ll love it.” I smile down at the little box in my hand thinking about y/n’s reaction when I give it to her. “You think?” I ask. “ Fulton stop overthinking this she’s gonna love it. Now get ready for this date you don’t wanna keep her waiting any longer do ya?” I laugh and shake my head as I finish getting ready to go on my date.

Y/n’s pov

I look in the mirror and smile as I add the finishing touches to my makeup. “ How do I look?” Julie looks up from her book and smiles widely “ You look amazing y/n. Fulton’s gonna love your outfit and your gift .” “ You really think he will?” I ask hopefully. “ yes he’s gonna love it. Now hurry up and get on your way to that date. You don’t wanna keep him waiting do ya?” She questioned laughing. I smile “ bye Julie thanks for helping me. I’ll be back later tonight.” “ bye y/n have fun and be safe.” I head out the door and get in the car to make my way to the restaurant Fulton’s taking me to eat at.

Time skip

I make it to the restaurant and I see Fulton sitting in his car. I go up and knock on the window. Fulton looks up and smiles at me while getting out of the car. “ Hey love. You look absolutely beautiful tonight.” I smile leaning in to kiss him. “ Thank you babe. You ready to go in?” He nods his head yes and we walk in hand in hand. “ Hi I have a reservation for Fulton Reed.” Fulton tells the host. “ Oh yes a 7:00 reservation for Fulton Reed party of 2 right this way.” The host grabs our menus and leads us to the table.

Not long after we order our food and drinks. After we finished our meals we sit at the table talking about hockey and how schools going. The waiter comes to the table and hands us the bill. Fulton slips a 100 into the folder and hands the waiter the bill.

We leave the restaurant and I go to sit in Fulton’s car with him. “ so tonight’s our 3 year anniversary and I wanted to give you something special.” Fulton reaches in the back seat and pulls out a small black box. He opens the box and inside is a beautiful dainty diamond ring. “Fulton” I gasp but he cuts me off. “ it’s not an engagement ring yet. It’s a promise ring. I promise to love you forever and I promise that one day I am going to marry you. Y/n m/n Portman will you accept this ring?” “Yes Fulton I accept the ring.” I answer smiling.

Fulton slips the ring onto my finger and grabs my face kissing my lips softly. I pull away and smile. “ while we are on the topic of giving gifts I have something for you as well.” I reach in my pocket and grab out my own small box. Inside is a solid black silicone ring. “ Fulton Elden Reed, I promise to love you forever and I promise to marry you when you ask me. Do you accept this ring?” Fulton gives me a big toothy grin “ yes y/n I will accept this ring.” He kisses me yet again. “ I got you a silicone ring so you can even wear it when you’re playing hockey.” “That was so thoughtful of you babe.”

He leans in kissing me again. He pulls away and stares into my eyes. “Happy 3 years y/n” “ happy 3 years Fulton”

Do you think any of the Ducks have any mental health diagnoses? Like, I could definitely see Adam having an anxiety disorder or Averman having ADHD.

Oooo I like this question. Not just because I have a few mental health issues myself but also because I have researched psychology and mental health as a special interest. 😂🙃

So, I could definitely see Adam struggling with anxiety. However, I could see him having heavy imposter syndrome. Not so much on the rink, but around his friends and at school. He also struggles with insomnia in D3 and nothing will convince me that he doesn't. He also has been known to dissociate.

Averman was diagnosed with ADD before it was reclassified as ADHD. He uses his jokes to mask the fact that he struggles to follow along with verbal instructions. Most people think his personality is because of the hyperactivity of ADHD, but that's just him. He struggles for a long to voice how he feels and get a diagnosis.

I could see Dwayne being autistic. He is very good at his special interest in puck handling. He also doesn't quite get people's intent. Such as when he tried to make friends with the varsity in D3 after they badmouthed them. He is however very kind and very skilled. I could see him actually being diagnosed but not telling the team right away. Until he's actually comfy and the Ducks are 100% supportive and refuse any ableist shit.

Charlie definitely has trauma and abandonment issues from his dad. I could also see him having some form of depression. Casey is a great mom and does get him help once she notices. However, he does have to go to therapy and do all he can to function normally.

Goldberg doesn't have any mental illnesses but he did have a learning disability. I can see him struggling with math the most.

Fulton strikes me as someone who has insomnia. He has always struggled with nightmares. This is why he "sleeps" with such loud music as we see in D2. It is to keep his mind from wandering to nightmares and keep happy thoughts in his head.

I can't see Connie or Julie having a mental illness. However, I can see them being very protective of the Ducks who are. Like someone tried to taunt Charlie for having depression. Later, they broke their arm under suspicious circumstances. Julie is more blunt and won't hesitate to fuck you up.

Kenny had a stutter when he was younger. He managed to improve his speech by the time he entered the Olympics. However, it does still come up when he's extremely upset or overwhelmed.

Jesse did have anger issues as a kid. However, he did overcome it with support from his friend and his dad/Terry. His dad found him a really good therapist and she was able to get to the route of his anger and develop a coping mechanism. He didn't lose his sass and he's happier/less affected by other people being stupid.

Honestly, Dean also strikes me as neurodivergent. I could see him being AuDHD. You can tell in D2 that he has a very clear definition of what he sees as appropriate. He was very upset when Bombay was hanging with the Iceland lady. Almost like it was going against what he thought was right. He and Dwayne are low support though.

Guy and Russ don't have anything. They are really good friends and allies though.

Okay, so this might seem out of left field but follow me. I feel like Luis has some type of body dysmorphia. I could see that being why is tries so hard in D3. I know it's probably just bad writing. However, I could see his personality switch being brought on by the pressure from others. He is "the hot one" so he feels the need to lean into that. However, when he looks at himself he doesn't see the appeal so he tries to compensate. He also seems to be the one most likely to develop an image-related disorder like an eating disorder.

This wasn't how she was supposed to be spending her daughter's first Christmas.

Even when she and Alex had been together, they had pictured what Christmas would be like with their children. And ever since Giselle was born, she couldn't help but think about it everyday.

Alex would probably go crazy, buying gifts for her. Ellen knew him well enough that when it came to a child of his, money would be no object. No matter how hard that was to believe.

Driving through the neighborhood to look at the Christmas lights, picking out a tree at that farm that Elyse hated, baking cookies, maybe taking Giselle to see Santa...

Then, she would see Bridget or Teresa playing with Giselle, showing her the tree... and that ache wouldn't be so prominent anymore.

Boyfriends may come and go... but friendships were forever.

Fulton’s eyes seem to manoeuvre with your body. Up and down the ice. True, he was supposed to be doing drills with you and the team, but he just couldn’t bring himself to stop looking at you. Sometimes he felt a sort of guilt, ashamed if you will, for liking you. Yet how could he not? You were there from the start, before his peewee hockey games, when you and the rest of District 5 would practise on a frozen over pond. You were the one to teach him how to skate. You were the one who wasn’t intimidated by his premature masculinity. You were the one that would stay up late listening to AC/DC and Metallica with him. You were the one that convinced him that he would be more than capable to play at the Junior Goodwill Games. You were his person.

You noticed Fulton looking at you with his familiar stern look, to which you straightened up. Was your hair out of its plait? Were you too slouched? Were your laces untied? Was your jersey tucked too far in? Were you doing the drills incorrectly? A multitude of questions skated through your mind, but all you could do in that moment was offer him a smile. A smile that he returned. A smile. You loved his smile. It was a smile that made the world around you halt to a stand-still. A smile that made you feel like the only two people in the room that matter. A smile that made you think that you were the only girl in the world.

He sighed as he skated onto the ice for warmups, eyes not straining away from your figure. Fulton felt a sudden jab to his ribs, glaring towards Dean’s smirking face. “Trouble in paradise?” He just hummed at him, wanting to act oblivious to the whole situation. “Come on you’re head over heels for (L/n).” He spoke as if it was obvious, although all he received was a shrug. “Well if you don’t ask her out it looks like Miami over there is going to.” Dean sniffed, making his way over to coach so he could leave Fulton alone with his thoughts.

He hadn’t noticed before. The way Luis was eying you like a piece of meat. The way that his was getting dangerously close your when he spoke. The way his eyes switched between your eyes and your lips. The way you heartedly giggled at whatever he had told you. The way he tried straightening your posture when shooting. The way he took your stick and was taunting you to try and get it back. But now it was all he could see. For once his vision wasn’t tunnelled just to you. His peripheral radar was sending warning signals to the heart that beat only for you. 

The fire in Fulton’s eyes was more than visible, the red he saw interrupted by the siren signalling the end of warm ups. As he reached the changing rooms his ears billowed with smoke, eyeing the way Mendoza followed closely behind you. You were oblivious to the whole thing - god Luis was a slimeball. You let him have his fun though, knowing that soon he’d catch eyes for someone else and forget about you. There was no use fighting with him, it would just create more problems than necessary.

“Come on baby, just some pizza!” Luis groaned, reaching his arm around you as you lifted your jersey over your head and tucking it in. “I said no, Luis.” You laughed, rolling your eyes at his playfully flirtatious expression. “You know, come back to my place, order some pizza, watch a horror movie?” He cocked his brow. “Mendoza, you’d shit yourself at a horror movie.” You chuckled, shaking your head. “Please?” You were about to turn him down once more, obviously knowing that he was just being humorous and would back off in a minute.

“She said no.” A gruff, forced voice said from behind you. Both you and the Miami boy turned, and Fulton was stood there - jaw locked and eyes stern. “Calm down, Reed.” He shook his head. “I was only playing.” He stated, winking at you with a joking smirk on his lips. “Well she shouldn’t have to tell you more than once.” His stance way unwavering, eye contact being maintained by the taller of the two. “Look man-” Luis tried to reason, but was harshly shoved by Fulton. Mendoza retaliated by lurching towards him, arm winding up to swing a shot.

“Woah! Fucking calm down!” You pulled the two apart, forcing Fulton out of the room to check Luis was alright. “You okay?” “Yeah,” He offered you a reassuring look, rearranging his gear as he glared deathly daggers at the now-closed door. “The fuck was his problem?” You just shook your head in acknowledgment. “I’m gonna go see what’s up with him.” You said, but was soon stopped by Luis. “Hey, if that nut job tries anything I’m in here.” You thanked him, heading to the hallway where you had sent the Duck.

“What the fuck was that?” His head snapped towards you. “He was trying-” “No,” You cut him off. “He wasn’t trying anything. There’s a border between flirting and trying something, and he didn’t cross it.” Fulton looked at his feet, inhaling deeply as he attempted to calm himself down. “What’s your problem, Fulton?” Your brows creased in questioning. He just looked at you. “Come on then, our with it.” It was hard to tap your foot with a skate on, but somehow you managed.

“It’s not fair!” He finally said, voice rising but suddenly sinking into almost nothing. “What’s not fair, Ful?” He closed his eyes, as if contemplating his next words. “It’s not fair that he can have you and I can’t.” It took a moment for his words to finally sink in. “What do you mean?” “For gods sake!” He looked at you, anger and desperation mixed within his irises. “Why can he flirt with you when I’ve been in love with you for years?” You were taken aback by his statement, almost not noticing the way he slouched down the wall, head in his hands. “Look I’m sorry-” You stopped him. “You’re an idiot aren’t you?” You lauded, and he only looked at you, confusions writing across his distraught face.

“I’m fucking in love with you.” You said, and he almost did believe it. You loved him? You couldn’t? Never. Why would you? Him, Fulton Reed? In his moment of inner-battling, he didn’t realise you had slid down the wall beside him. He looked down and back at you as he watched you intertwined your hands, and bring his to your lips. No words were shared, and you just rested your head against his shoulder. Just two kids laying in an empty hallway in their hockey gear. Your moment was soon interrupted, by Dwayne and Lester chasing each other out into the hallway. “Y’all ready to play some puck?” You both shared a look, before you pulled Fulton off of the floor, and began running with the others towards the ice to play.

Fulton smiled. This was nice.
