Do you think K-pop concert ticket prices are too expensive now? What do you think should be the threshold, and what can be done to give all fans, whether casual or diehard, a great experience?
I could go on an entire rant/tangent on what I think concerts as a whole should be like, but it would be the length of a regular fic, so I'll spare you every issue and thought I have about them. I've only been to one concert in my whole life, so I don't have the experience or depth that other concertgoers have, but let's just say the streaming and COVID economy fucked up everything.
Prices: I believe the terrible royalties from streaming, as well as the increased demand for live shows in general has caused these ticket prices to skyrocket. Like you can't just buy a ticket for a decent seat for less than $70 now, that shit only gives you nosebleed seats. Not to mention the deliberate collusion of scalpers by ticketing sites. Those resale tickets and third parties directly cooperate with Ticketmaster so they can punch a bit more money from consumers. And don't even get me started with Dynamic Pricing and those terrible service fees. I'm fortunate enough to live in a country where such things don't exist, but with HYBE openly expressing their intention to enable dynamic pricing and finding alternatives in places where it's not available, you can bet they'll find a way to punch up the prices too.
I understand why they charge this much. Fans will go out to see their favorite artist, regardless of how much they complain about it. FOMO. You don't know if they'll come back to your country or city, or when. Not to mention, the typical K-pop concert is a much grander production than, say, your average pop star. You got backup dancers, large stages, numerous costume changes, sometimes a live band, and of course, multiple members with dozens of staff managing a group. Concerts are the biggest revenue/income drive now for a majority of artists because of how music is distributed today, so they have to break even. Doing world tours are costly; consider the VISA and other costs on a country-to-country basis. No wonder they'd rather tour the US and Japan only to save a few thousand dollars.
It's difficult to gauge the threshold because popularity and demand is fickle, especially in K-pop. However, if there has to be a limit, I personally would stop at around $1000-sub range. There's not a damn singer or artist on planet earth, dead or alive, that's worth over a $1000 ticket. Even MJ. The economy isn't looking good, inflation keeps jumping year by year, and concerts have become basically rich people havens too.
Personally, I do think it'll eventually die out. There's a touring oversaturation right now that it dries people out and we have to pick and choose who we want to attend.
There's a few things I really want to see happen in the future, ideally:
• Rookies shouldn't be pricier than their seniors. I don't care if its NewJeans, IVE, or Le sserafim, they really shouldn't be more expensive than say, a 3-4 year old group. It's ridiculous how NMIXX and IVE were more expensive than The Boyz or ATEEZ.
• Announcing ticket sale literally right after the tour announcement. This is something I absolutely hate. Why are you selling tickets for a show six-eight months away like two weeks after announcing it? Fucking insane! It gives us little to no prep time to gather up resources and plan accordingly. Also, what if something happens that causes a concert to be canceled or delayed? It'll be much harder for us to get refunds back, which is exactly why they pull this shit off. Normalize selling tickets at most two months-a month before the show.
• Make the ticket prices worth it. This is my biggest gripe with concerts, more than the prices: that you're basically paying for the seats and nothing else. I'm not gonna lie, I likely wouldn't have gone out to my one and only concert if I wasn't guaranteed anything else besides a nice seat. Pre-pandemic, the price of the ticket I bought would have given me a group/solo pic with the group and some other cool perks like maybe signed merch. Now? Most concerts give you the show and nothing more. You have to justify paying that hefty tag beyond just a close view of your favorite artist. I remember when pop stars like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and The Weeknd had photo-ops before the show for those VIP tivkets. COVID ruined all of that. It's such a damn shame, because at best, you're getting soundcheck, which I'm not fond of, in my opinion. It forces people to bait for interactions and not enjoy themselves during the show cuz they aren't guaranteed artist engagement (though this won't really change anything if we're being real lol). I personally would be a lot more comfortable and have a greater time if I knew I could greet them before or after the show instead of trying too hard to get their attention.

Addendum for Modern Fashion Doll People: This also applies to the new Barbie Rare Finds thing that Mattel may be starting to do across multiple lines, and is definitely doing now with the Steffie substitution for the Deluxe Style doll that normally has a Millie sculpt.
Yes, we all love Steffie.
No, you do not need to pay scalper prices to get that chase doll with the LitDH Midge-style Steffie head.
It's just cheerful plastic. There have been decades of it made already, and there will be decades of it in the future.
and yes of course I know that my views on this are way more harsh than how most people approach the hobby--for example, I have never had a grail doll, and I can't imagine doing so, and I understand that makes me the odd one here. I am not trying to convert people to my way of thinking, and more offering the idea that there are other ways to approach the hobby, especially if there's something about the way you're currently approaching it that is making you unhappy. Hobbies are for happiness.
Listen. If all you know about Barbie is the movie, you need to know this:
Old dolls really aren't worth that much.
Nope, not even the original dolls from the early 1960s, not unless they are in absolutely pristine condition.
And every second-hand seller is out there ready to take advantage of the idea, held by most people, that "old doll automatically means valuable doll"
"The price being asked on eBay" is NOT the same as "the price the doll is worth"
And, ultimately, dolls are cheerful pieces of plastic. They are not vital to life--if you don't know me, I'll tell you I'm saying this as someone who has had fashion dolls as one of my main hobbies for decades. If you think something seems a bit expensive, it's perfectly OK to pass it by. It's just plastic.
There has always been a problem, especially on eBay, of predatory pricing sought by people who can't even tell the difference between a doll made in the 1960s versus one made in the 1990s that uses a 1960s copyrighted body.
Don't fall for it.

Gaming in 2024: Layoffs, Live-Service Bombs and Mascot Platformers, Oh My!
Another year in the rearview mirror, it’s important to remember where we’ve been to have a better idea of where we’re heading. Much of 2023 was marked by a massive amount of layoffs across the gaming industry, and uh….2024 hasn’t really seen any improvements in that regard. As the initial sale surges of the early pandemic cool off, unchecked corporate greed has led to all of these acquisitions and resulting layoffs rendering much of this industry a shell of what it was just a few short years ago. It hasn’t all been bad, of course, but it’s important to highlight the more worrisome trends in gaming alongside all of the success stories. So join me once more as we take a look back at gaming in 2024.
THE BIG THREE
As is customary, let’s start off with recapping what the biggest game publishers did with their year. Microsoft had…well, quite the tumultuous year. Following their spending spree of acquisitions over the past few years, we’re starting to see a lot of the negative effects of that. This year alone Microsoft would close down four studios (Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Games and Roundhouse Studios), and lay off over 1900 people in total. Tango at least would get picked up by…the developers of PUBG of all things with the Hi-Fi Rush IP intact at least, but that’s about the only silver lining. Even 343 Industries, the ones with the trusted Halo series under their belt, didn’t escape downsizing, with future games likely being outsourced.
Perhaps as a result of these decisions certain developers under Microsoft have fought back a bit. Activision’s QA department formed the largest western video game union this year, with various World of Warcraft devs also forming a union at Blizzard. Toys for Bob, known for working on the most recent Crash Bandicoot games also split from Activision to go independent. It’s honestly hard to not look at Microsoft as a bit of a sinking ship at times, what with their only landmark title for the year in Hellblade II getting a somewhat mixed reception, not to mention this year also saw the release of a few previously exclusive games to other platforms. Coupled with the rather bizarre “This is an Xbox” branding at the end of the year, it feels like in the near future Microsoft might not really be considered a major console developer and instead pivot to software, but we’ll see how much longer they can hold on like this.
For Sony, I think it’s fair to say they had a bit of an off year. Starting off, they were pretty public about not having many major releases for the bulk of the year in their tent pole series, and even mentioned needing more original IPs to leverage. In the realm of hardware this year saw the reveal and release of the PS5 Pro…to a mixed reception. For starters, it’s retailing at $699 USD, and that’s before getting into the optional $80 stand, or the fact it is digital only (but you could buy an optional disc drive for eighty more bucks!), but people are split on the actual value the system has with its upgraded specs. While a big game like Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth does look and perform noticeably better, it isn’t exactly a clear upgrade for most games across the board. Considering just how few games are truly next-gen exclusive at the moment (we still see games releasing on the PS4 even this year), it has been hard to convince people to upgrade and its sales aren’t quite matching the PS4 Pro in the same timeframe. The fact that scalpers are forced to sell at a loss should show that the demand just isn’t there. They weren’t strangers to cutting jobs either, with over 200 people laid off at Bungie.
That said, there’s three big games to talk about for Sony this year and unfortunately most of them don’t have the best stories attached. On the one hand, at the start of the year Helldivers II was a bit of a sleeper hit, selling very well and getting a lot of praise for being a hit multiplayer shooter in a market flooded with them. But that good will was hampered by the decision made by Sony higher-ups to require a PlayStation Network account to play the game even on PC. While they would walk that back a bit due to backlash, in the end 180 countries that have no access to PSN are also effectively locked out of playing Helldivers II. Coupled with some questionable updates and balance adjustments, the game lost a bit of its momentum. But hey, at least it didn’t pull a Concord.
Concord was to be the first title from the freshly-purchased Firewalk Studio, and Sony clearly anticipated it being a major hit. So much so they had commissioned an episode of the video game anthology series, Secret Level, to be about the game. And then with the release, Concord broke records…by becoming perhaps the most high profile video game bomb of all time. Launch numbers seemed dire, the game not even breaking 1000 players on Steam on day one. Within the first two weeks the game was effectively un-launched with all copies refunded and a month later Firewalk Studio was shut down. The game was developed over the course of eight years, well before the Firewalk purchase and was rumored to have a budget of over $400 million. It was lambasted for stale, uninteresting character designs, a kiss of death for a hero shooter, on top of just…not representing anything interesting in the overcrowded live service space. I’m sure retailing at forty bucks didn’t help it, though after Helldivers II’s massive success with a similar price point, no doubt Sony expected lightning to strike twice. While not particularly memorable itself, it has become one of the most infamous bombs in this industry, though time will tell if any lessons are learned here. Seeing that Sony wants to buy Kadokawa, one of the largest media distributors in Japan (not just for games but tons of anime licenses), it seems like Sony is still pretty acquisition hungry, even if a sale isn’t happening…FOR NOW.
The only real bright spot for Sony this year then was found with the surprise hit that was Astro Bot. Despite being around for much of the PS4 generation, Astro Bot finally getting his own standalone non-VR, non-pack-in game had him break out into the big time and was one of the more celebrated games of the year. For one thing, it’s just a high quality 3D platformer, and that’s an endangered species as far as genres go (if your name isn’t Mario or Sonic anyway), but it was also a game that celebrated the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation console in general. Tons of cameos and references to various Sony first party titles were found inside, on top of a lot of notable third party cameos too. Between this and the pack-in Astro’s Playroom on PS5, Team Asobi seem to be one of the few devs that still remember why people fell in love with Playstation in the first place. It ended up winning several awards at The Game Awards, including Game of the Year, so that’s a brighter note for Sony to end on for this year.
And that brings us to Nintendo, who had a fairly quiet year in terms of game releases, though they are not without some controversies. On the one hand, with multiple rumors swelling about the impeding “Switch 2,” that MIGHT come out next year (it will apparently be REVEALED by April 2025 at least), this was a year where games were mostly handled by various smaller dev teams at the behest of Nintendo as their major teams clearly have their hands full. Peach and Zelda got starring roles with Princess Peach Showtime and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom respectively, which is great and long overdue, but there were also smaller series given some spotlight. A new Endless Ocean, remakes of the Another Code series, and a brand new entry in the Famicom Detective Club series shows us that the Switch did so well, Nintendo had to dig deep once all the other bigger series were more or less taken care of. Taking note of that last title, Emio – The Smiling Man got a lot of attention for its mysterious viral marketing…that it was a new Famicom Detective Club game did roll some eyes, but it clearly got more eyes on the game than it would have gotten otherwise. Mario RPG fans ended up eating pretty well too, with the Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door remake hitting in the summer alongside the first brand new Mario & Luigi RPG in more than a decade. All and all, not a bad year for a console that’s been around for over seven years.
That’s just with games though, as Nintendo DID get involved in some more dubious things as the year went on. On the one hand, we have the more zany, left-field Nintendo ideas that were dropped at random points throughout this year like the Nintendo Music app or Alarmo…the digital alarm clock that plays game sounds and music to wake you up. But on the other hand, Nintendo was on a bit of a warpath with lawsuits this year. Notorious Switch emulator Yuzu were sued for over $2.4 million this year, seemingly shutting down by far the most prominent emulator for the system. And then there’s all the stuff related to Pocketpair and Palworld.
Palworld is definitely one of the more infamous games released this year. Developed by Pocketpair, a smaller Japanese dev known for little before this, the game made waves whenever a new trailer was shown off, being known by many as “Pokémon but with guns.” It released early in the year, showcasing a blending of monster catching and survival elements that made it out to be a strange fusion of an open world game similar to Breath of the Wild or Genshin Impact with a side of ARK: Survival Evolved. That said, what caught many people’s attention was just HOW similar a lot of the designs of the Pals were compared to a variety of Pokémon. Some argued that the wire meshes for the models was too similar to be a mere coincidence in some cases, but on the other hand…most Pokémon are based off of animals and mythical figures, so it’s not like THEY are wholly original either. That said, many felt it was just skirting the line and wouldn’t have been surprised if Nintendo or The Pokémon Company retaliated…and they eventually did, though not in the way most expected. Pocketpair would receive a joint lawsuit filed from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company over patent infringement, all relating to mechanics and animations that were present in Pokémon Legends: Arceaus, and while this is ongoing and will likely take some time to fully complete itself, the suit itself doesn’t really set a good precedent. Many would argue that trying to patent rather broad gameplay elements like this is anti-art, and only hurts the industry. But at the same time, Palworld feels like a rather cynical, derivative work that really straddles the line of plagiarism to a degree. It IS worth noting that Sony has a vested interest in the Palworld IP and has even invested some money and wants to go into multi-media so this could also be read as Nintendo and The Pokémon company wanting to snuff out any early competition. Who would have thought a seemingly unreal meme game would eventually lead to all of this?
And while we still have Pokémon on the brain here, we should also bring up the rather massive data leak that came from Game Freak late this year. Following a successful phishing attempt with an email, a reported terabyte of data was stolen from the developer. We’re talking the source code of some games, beta designs from older Pokémon games, potential info on the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A titleamong many other things. The element that probably drove the most engagement in the aftermath of the leak was a lot of alleged old lore entries or stories in the Pokémon world that often had Pokémon engaging in very…graphic acts. At this point though, it’s hard to tell how much of this was actually real, the results of dodgy translation or just a writing exercise as developers tried to hash out what they wanted for the series. All I know is I’ll never look at Typlosion the same way again. That said, the actual worst part of this leak is that this also included employee information. Don’t get me wrong, seeing some of this beta stuff and development notes IS legitimately fascinating, but it shouldn’t come at the cost of real people’s safety and privacy. With all this in mind, it hasn’t been easy to be a Pokémon fan this year.
That’ll cover the big dogs, but there’s still the matter of other assorted industry news to cover and…sadly the trend won’t really improve all that much.
THE LITTLE GUYS LICK THEIR WOUNDS
For starters, we can look at Square Enix. They announced layoffs in their US and Europe offices, and saw a major drop in their stocks. After lacking sales in their most recent Final Fantasy games, Square seems to understand that staying console exclusive isn’t a viable path anymore and will likely be changing course on that in the future. Ubisoft is also not having the best of times at the moment. For one, they were sued over the closure of The Crew, a pretty notable lawsuit regarding how online-only games are allowed to be made worthless with the flip of a switch. They’ve had quite a few gaffs this year, such as trying to tell people that they should just “get used” to not owning the games they buy, and wants Steam to hide player numbers so people aren’t aware of how their games have been failing. One of their most high-profile failures this year was with Star Wars: Outlaws, showcasing that despite the Star Wars branding, people are not totally down with the open world Ubisoft formula anymore. With that in mind, there have been rumors of Tencent buying up Ubisoft.
Speaking of Tencent, they were notable for laying off the staff at Ouka Studios before their latest game, Visions of Mana, could even release. We’re at a point where you don’t even get to see if a game is successful before you get let go anymore it seems. And lastly from Tencent, renowned Capcom developer, Hideaki Itsuno has jumped ship to Tencent, though time will tell if that venture pays off for him. In the realm of game journalism there were quite a few shake ups too. IGN acquired multiple publications from Gamer Network, with perhaps the most notable being Eurogamer. Elsewhere, Gamestop would shut down Game Informer, which is a pretty major loss for gaming news. For over 33 years they were the premiere US-based gaming magazine known for in-depth interviews and looks at games; the void they leave behind is pretty massive.
In April Void Interact suffered a massive 4 terabyte data breach which sadly included source code for their game, Ready or Not, a tactical FPS that had just hit early access late last year. No employee information was seemingly found in the leaks at least, but alongside the Game Freak leak this year its clear security in the video game scene needs a lot of work. Annapurna’s gaming division all resigned en masse this year as well, following disagreements with where to take the company, which certainly calls into question the fate of certain games partnering with them. I suppose it might be better than the alternative of just laying everyone off.
Speaking of even more layoffs though, just to make sure we’re covering our bases, there’s even more jobs lost from the likes of Riot. They cut 530 jobs this year alone. Seeing how they still rake in so much money from the likes of League of Legends it’s frustrating to see that success not equating to job security. Supermassive laid off 90 staff, following the less-than-stellar reception to some of their latest games, including the Until Dawn remake. And perhaps most devastating of all, EA saw 5% of its workforce laid off, so that’s another 670 jobs gone. Grim stuff in general here.
I suppose I should bring up that in the realm of video game adaptations we had some mixed reception to certain new products. On the one hand, the live-action Fallout adaptation was extremely well received and successful, and Arcane mostly seemed to deliver on its final season. However, the Amazon-original Secret Level has been a lot more hit-or-miss. An anthology show depicting a truly random assortment of games, audiences seem split on the quality of many of these episodes. Some, like the Mega Man one, were very short and relatively solid reinterpretations of their origin stories, but some took more creative liberties, such as the Pac-Man episode that seems to have mostly been a stealth ad for the recently revealed Shadow Labyrinth game, a darker and edgier take on Pac-Man similar the reviled Bomberman: Act Zero. And then there was that episode on Concord which uh…need I say more there? Oh and then the Borderlands movie bombed, but at least the Sonic 3 movie seems to be doing well (less said about the Knuckles spin-off the better though).
I also feel I need to at least pay some lip service to the ongoing video game voice actor strike with SAG-AFTRA members. Following ongoing negotiations with the ever-growing threat of generative AI taking over the industry, in July of this year a video game strike was launched against various video game developers and publishers. While some publishers have made interim agreements or side deals with the actor union, many are still on the picket line as they fight for the right to not have their voice thrown up on an AI database and just used without their knowledge or consent. AI is a pretty hot-button issue right now, not just in gaming but everywhere. We’re living in a world where it can be hard to tell what is real and what is being generated by an AI program, where capitalists see this as a way to cut down on costs at the expense of art losing its soul and manmade touch, not to mention the potential environmental impacts. I certainly hope that actors can get the protections they need and eventually this strike can come to an end, but at time of writing it continues onwards. Maybe once that AI bubble pops we can get some GOOD news for once.
Speaking of good news though, I want to switch gears and indulge my own niche interests a bit here, and talk about all the good (and bad) things in the realm of fighting games this year.
LEGENDARY PARTNERSHIPS AND RESURRECTIONS
All things told, this year was pretty good for fighting games, though there’s definitely a few stinkers mixed in here. The year itself started off with the launch of French Bread’s Under Night In-Birth 2: Sys Celes, and despite some launch issues overall it’s a fairly well-regarded release that continues to iterate on the gameplay that makes the Under Night series stand out. SNK also was in the news a lot this year with continued news about their next title, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. They’re received a lot of praise for the game’s visual style, and fans are eagerly awaiting the release early in 2025. But the biggest game release by far this year was Tekken 8. Pretty much the sole big 3D fighter at the moment, the game drew equal amounts praise and criticism for its more aggressive playstyle and changes to older characters, alongside the rather large visual upgrade. The story mode was also praised for being very bombastic, with a very intricate final boss that takes the Tekken story to new heights. Sadly…it couldn’t escape some criticism here or there though. After release the game would suddenly add in a cosmetic shop littered with microtransactions, something that reviews never seemed to get wind of, and later on drew the ire of players with the release of a new stage that was NOT included with the season pass, despite an earlier stage seemingly being included in the pass. They received a lot of flak for some of the DLC choices as well, with the latest character for the season, Clive from Final Fantasy XVI, splitting the fanbase a bit. Despite all of that, the game has clearly done well for itself (taking home Fighting Game of the Year at The Game Awards) and will likely be supported for years to come.
This year also saw a lot of older franchises come back from the dead, and some longstanding partnerships were suddenly highlighted. For starters, a new entry in the Dragon Ball: Budokai Tenkaichi series, Sparking Zero, saw release. This was a bit of a dream come true for longtime Dragon Ball fans who love diving into the virtual toybox that this series supports…though it IS worth noting it was also home to a very embarrassing official tournament that highlighted some fairly terrible balance decisions in the game. Capcom came out of nowhere with the surprise release of a fighting collection of all of the Marvel Comics fighting games they made over the years, especially the iconic Marvel vs. Capcom series. Not to be outdone on that note, they confirmed yet ANOTHER fighting collection, this time being made up of a variety of early 3D titles such as Project Justice or the Power Stone games, alongside the two SNK crossover titles. Capcom and SNK are particularly buddy-buddy this year, as this year also saw that for Street Fighter 6’s second season we would see Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui joining the game, and for City of the Wolves both Ken Masters and Chun-li will also guest star. Adding onto all of that, there was also the finale to the Capcom Cup and the $1 million prize. About the only thing to complain about is a lack of costumes for SF6.
That said, by far the most significant return to fame this year was Sega finally confirming a brand new Virtua Fighter game. With a teaser shown off at The Game Awards, and a massive “Virtua Fighter Direct” detailing things afterward, Sega seems to be committed to reminding people why they were once the kings of the 3D fighter. When you have the president of Nvidia and a Saudi prince singing the praises of the series and seemingly throwing their own support towards this revival, it seems like it might be something special, though we don’t yet know how long we’ll have to wait for the game. In the meantime, there has been yet another re-release of Virtua Fighter 5 on PC that supports proper rollback netcode as well as balance adjustments to sate players for now.
Of course not everything was great in the realm of fighters. Mortal Kombat 1’s first full year was filled with a fair bit of criticism, but the announcement of their second season and major story expansion, Khaos Reigns, didn’t seem to do much better. For starters, it was quite pricy at over fifty dollars for a short story expansion and six characters, with no ability (at least at first) to just buy the characters separately from the pack. There’s also the matter of the character choices; revamped versions of the cyborg ninjas alongside Noob Saibot were a bit disappointing for some but then there’s the guests. Ghostface from the Scream films, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Conan the Barbarian, and the T-1000 from the Terminator films. Some feel they’re kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel for “fitting” guests, not to mention many are still reeling with the double dose of “evil Superman” characters like Omni Man and Homelander last season. Rumors swirled that the expansion sold poorly and future DLC likely won’t follow. In general it’s hard to feel like MK1 wasn’t a bit of a misstep.
We’re not done talking about Warner Bros. fighters either. After a yearlong slumber, MultiVersus returned. While this free-to-play platform fighter seemed like it was going to be a smash hit during its open beta in 2022, it quickly ran dry of content and then abruptly announced it would be going offline for a year to prepare for the “real” launch. I’ve talked about why this relaunch faltered elsewhere but to sum things up: the game plays substantially differently, it is still loaded with bugs and strange design decisions that were still present in the beta, on top of some of the most aggressive and desperate monetization I’ve seen yet. At one point, WB outright bought the studio behind the game, Player First Games, so it seemed like maybe they were ready to invest more into the game. However, ahead of its fourth season reveal, WB Discovery CEO David Zaslav stated in an investor call that the game, among others, contributed to a $100 million loss so….getting some mixed messages here. That said, the recent release of Rivals of Aether 2 does seem to have given platform fighter fans SOME solace.
Oddly enough, MultiVersus’ failures seemingly scared off Riot and their own attempt at a platform fighter, if rumors are true. Outside of that potential game, Riot finally unveiled a bit more information on their upcoming League of Legends game. Once known as “Project L” for years, it has a new name….2XKO. This name got lambasted pretty quickly, though later on in the year the game got a playable beta that received a lot of feedback from players. Many still seem to be really highlighting this game as being something special, but details are still scarce regarding the release date, so this is far from the last we’ve seen of it.
And lastly, I feel the need to highlight the truly awful hand dealt towards the indie fighter, Them’s Fightin’ Herds. Going from a fan game based off of the Friendship is Magic My Little Pony generation, it eventually became its own title. It was a fairly solid little fighter, even if it never quite got a lot of attention for one reason or another. Sadly, this year the devs, after being purchased by Maximum Entertainment, were abruptly laid off before work on the final two characters of their first (and now only) season pass could be complete. These last two fighters were hastily released and completely broke the game with massive oversights and game breaking bugs that threatened to ruin the game’s small, if dedicated, competitive scene. Later patches would smooth over SOME of these issues but it’s clear that this game was not given the sendoff it deserved. With other fighters in development with Maximum Entertainment, such as Diesel Legacy: The Brazen Age, a beat-em up fighting game hybrid that employs controversial fighting game dev Mike Zaimont, as well as a game set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe, I think audiences should think twice about supporting this publisher. They clearly don’t support their developers.
With that detour out of the way, let’s return to talking about some big titles that hit this year as a way to wrap things up.
THE BIG GAMES OF 2024: MANY HITS AND MISSES
Fans of live-service shooters were spoiled for choice this year, though not all of those experiences are made equal. After all, we already talked about Concord. That said, another failure of sorts in this genre was WB’s own Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The first brand new (non-VR) game from Rocksteady in almost a decade, the game was sadly dead on arrival and was one of the more notable bombs early in the year. Many felt that it wasn’t the best call to make a game about taking out such beloved heroes in their first major appearance in the Arkham Series. There’s also the fact this came from a studio known for making tight, single-player experiences and suddenly jumping ship to a live-service multiplayer game seemed unwise. Really you could go on with all the ways in which this game failed to be very appealing, but it ultimately lead to poor sales and would barely get out a year’s worth of planned content before effectively wrapping up. In all, it is said to have cost WB $200 million in revenue. With all that being said, a bit of a major shocker at year’s end was the surprise success of Marvel Rivals. While clearly somewhat derivative when compared to Blizzard’s Overwatch, the slick presentation, relatively consumer-friendly microtransactions and generally solid gameplay has led to the game getting a ton of attention, gaining 10 million players within three days of going live. Certainly did better than something like Foamstars, a game clearly aping Splatoon that has fizzled out in the same year it debuted. I guess at the end of the day live-service games can do just fine if you…you know…make it appealing.
We’ve covered most of the bigger games from the major, well-known publishers this year but there are some more notable hits from various developers in Asia. From Korea, we have Shift Up’s Stellar Blade, an action game that managed to be very…eye catching in various ways, seen by many as a solid title that took more than a little inspiration from Nier Automata (even scoring a collab with them). It DID unfortunately get embroiled in some culture war stuff; some feeling it was a game that “destroyed” the West because uh….the main character had a big ass or whatever. There WAS a bit of controversy from this same crowd when some of the costumes in-game seemed to be censored…but honestly it looks like people making a mountain out of a molehill. At the very least, the devs seem to be pretty normal about things…which unfortunately I can’t say for one of China’s biggest success stories this year: Black Myth: Wukong. This title became a true smash hit with over 21 million copies sold and won a variety of awards by the year’s end. But there WAS a lot of controversy regarding the game, with some bizarre streaming guidelines that forbade influencers from talking about “feminist propaganda” among other things. And then there’s the director of the game being more than a little salty that the game didn’t win Game of the Year at The Game Awards. Still, it’s good to see gaming continue to grow throughout the world with a variety of other countries really coming into their own.
And lastly, I want to shed some light on some of the more notable indie games released this year. There’s dozens of titles that deserve some limelight, like Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, a visually stunning mystery game from the developers behind the equally visually stunning Sayonara Wild Hearts. Or there’s Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore, a game that sets out to emulate the infamous Zelda CDI gamesexcept, you know…good. There’s the adorable platformer The Plucky Squire, or the acclaimed puzzle metroidvania Animal Well too. In sheer variety, UFO 50 has you covered with 50 games from a bunch of different genres in a way that emulates those old retro collections with games of dubious quality. Horror games even got some interesting entries this year with Crow Country as a fun throw-back to PS1 horror similar to Signalis from last year. Mouthwashing also came out of nowhere and ended up becoming a surprise hit for many, as the dark and at times distressing story really connected with people, introducing one of the most hateable characters in gaming (seriously, Jimmy is the worst). But the biggest hit by far this year was Balatro. The Poker roguelite has sailed past 3.5 million sales this year, ending up securing some wins at The Game Awards, and it shows little signs of slowing down. A deceptively simple gameplay loop, themed around gaining special Joker cards that allow you to cheat in increasingly crazy ways at Poker, the game proves hard to put down and even as some were perplexed that it would be nominated for Game of the Year, all it takes is a few games to be converted. Seeing as this was made by one guy, that’s pretty damn impressive. With how bad the industry has been for the top dogs out there, it’s not hard to feel like indies really pick up the slack in many ways.
Ordinarily we’d be done here, but I have one last segment I want to go over….because we’re STILL not done with the rampant layoffs and such that plague the industry, but one company in particular needs to be brought to task.
A DEADLY EMBRACE
So far we’ve covered a variety of layoffs and studio closures from Microsoft, Sony, EA, Riot, Square Enix and more, but there is one company that stands out among all others. An entity that has been putting its fingers in all the pies, and it has basically ruined the entire bakery. I’m talking, of course, about Embracer Group. The last few years have seen Embracer swooping in and grabbing up as many studios as possible. At one point it was easier to think about what they DIDN’T own. However, their spending sprees (and a failed Saudi deal) have had a lot of repercussions this year especially. Let’s take it from the top of the year.
First, Lost Boys Interactive hit layoffs right in January, though an exact number wasn’t given. A second round of layoffs would occur in September, once again being quite significant but no numbers shared. Also in January, 97 jobs were cut from Eidos Montreal, and on top of that work on a new Deus Ex game was halted and cancelled. After Embracer picked up the studio in 2022 they haven’t exactly done much with it and now here we are. We’re STILL in January with more cuts from Black Forest Games losing a whopping 50% of its workforce. With this in mind, by February of this year, taking into account some cuts made at the end of 2023, Embracer was suddenly out nearly 1400 workers. To paraphrase a quote given about these layoffs, their highest priority is their shareholders. These people don’t care about games, or people’s livelihoods…they just want to make sure the line keeps going up. I wish I could say we were done here but we’re still just getting started.
You see, in addition to all of these layoffs, they also sold off a variety of studios that they owned in an attempt to get rid of debts and right their ships. In March, they sold off Saber Interactive for a deal that seems to be valued at around $250 million, with a variety of projects now given ownership to the buyer, Beacon Interactive. At least with this deal jobs seemed to be secured. The same can NOT be said for the sale of Gearbox to Take Two for about $460 million. Shortly afterward Gearbox faced layoffs, though an exact number wasn’t given.
As a result of all of this, in April Embracer would announce plans to split into three different brands: Asmodee (dealing primarily with trading cards, off of a purchase from 2022), Coffee Stain and Friends (focusing on a variety of their smaller gaming IPs) and Middle-earth Representatives and Friends (focusing on bigger powerhouse IP with games as well as the Lords of the Rings franchise). This is being done to allegedly allow all of these different studios and business ventures to run as efficiently as possible but forgive me if I’m not altogether optimistic. To prove my pessimism right, in June Embracer would close down Pieces Interactive, known for the Alone in the Dark franchise. One final blunder to close this section out, also in June Embracer would talk about embracing AI for even more efficiency in their game distribution. Oh sure, they say that AI won’t replace any real human jobs, but I trust them about as far as I can throw them. Then again, if they keep closing down studios and laying people off, they really won’t have any humans left to replace.
Laying it all out here like that, it’s just so…sickening. Somewhere around 1600 people losing their jobs in the span of a year after ONE company went on a spending spree and thought they’d landed a multi-billion dollar deal, on top of riding the highs of inflated spending from the pandemic. Adding to all of the other layoffs and closures this year it’s a wonder the gaming industry is still standing. This isn’t sustainable, and the fact there seems to be next to no protections to keep things from getting to this point, let alone being able to punish the companies that play chicken with people’s jobs is just…well, it’s enough to make me say something that would probably get my Twitter account suspended. The biggest question here is undoubtedly “when will it end?” And how many people’s livelihoods have to suffer while the so-called leaders are mostly unaffected? I wish I had an answer.
CONCLUSION
The gaming industry rode a wave of profits for some time while so many were forced inside. The ones at the top believed that this would last forever and kept spending more and more, blinded by the dollar signs in their eyes. But the common worker is the one who pays the price, and the industry somehow still limps along anyway. Not to be a big downer or anything but…it’s hard to look at all of this information and not feel like things are so utterly bleak. But giving into despair isn’t going to solve anything.
There ARE some bright spots here at least. I’m glad to see a game like Astro Bot win so much acclaim, since it was a title made by some talented, driven people that haven’t forgotten what gaming is SUPPOSED to be about: fun. Or at the very least an engaging experience that isn’t concerned with checking off boxes for focus testing or making sure it maximizes profit about all else. With all of these live-service blunders I can only hope the industry eventually forgoes this model, or at least makes it all less predatory. With a new Nintendo console on the horizon again, I’m also hoping the Big N can bring about some great games that don’t need to cost hundreds of millions of dollars to impress and then barely make any profit back. Indies continue to hold up this industry with some really inventive games that make for pure experiences that can go toe-to-toe with the biggest AAA titles. One last little story that emerged at the end of this year also gives me a bit of hope for the future. Following the turmoil at Platinumgames, Hideki Kamiya has formed a new studio, Clovers, and is working with Capcom once again on a sequel to the Okami game that once made Clover Studio infamous. Kamiya mentioned that had he stayed at Platinum, his creative soul would have died. Seeing that Platinum seems more focused on live-service titles at the moment (despite their previous effort crashing and burning), I take this as a sign that the creatives out there will still fight for the right to make the games they want to make and won’t just roll over and let the greedy executives win without a fight. There are silver linings in these massive clouds over the industry and I think that, if the people will it, brighter days will be ahead. I certainly hope that 2025’s year in review will end on a much happier note.
Happy Gaming.

'Christopher Nolan loves the big screen. Oppenheimer is proving, once again, that it loves him right back. But long before anyone had actually seen Nolan’s fantastic biopic, the director and his fans alike were talking about its biggest (literally) selling point: IMAX 70mm film projection.
As Nolan and IMAX said in the lead-up to the unlikely blockbuster’s release last month, the three-hour movie spanned a jaw-dropping 11 miles when laid out on IMAX 70mm film, and weighed around 600 pounds. But here’s a question that wasn’t part of the hype cycle: What happens to a 600-pound, 11-mile film reel when it’s done being played in theaters? Polygon reached out to IMAX for the answer.
It turns out that most prints of Oppenheimer will go into storage, despite their massive size. IMAX says it’s worth keeping them around because they will still get plenty of use. According to an IMAX representative, IMAX 70mm film lasts, on average, 10 times longer than standard 35mm or 70mm film, meaning that the existing reels can be used for the next 20 years. The rep noted that Nolan is one of the rare filmmakers to earn IMAX repertory screenings on the regular, and said that the company fully expects to be playing Oppenheimer again in the future.
The massive film drums will end up in a few other places, too. Some will be housed in the film archive at IMAX’s Los Angeles office, according to the rep, while others will remain on site at select IMAX theaters. The British Film Institute in London, for instance, is one of the locations known for retrospectives and marathons of Nolan’s work, “so [they] will certainly find use for it,” the rep said. The bulk of the remaining IMAX 70mm film prints for Oppenheimer will be sent to Universal Pictures, the studio behind the movie, for storage.
If Oppenheimer does one day return to theaters, it’ll be in part because IMAX spent top dollar preparing them to handle the projection effort. As it turns out, almost as much work went into making sure theaters were ready for Oppenheimer as the other way around.
Getting projectors ready for Nolan’s film was a process that took more than two years, according to the IMAX spokesperson. It started with IMAX’s trained teams checking in regularly on every projector that would be used. They disassembled and cleaned the machines, and ensured that the theaters they were located in had the proper equipment to support them.
Each site also had two or three technicians who would ensure that everything was set up perfectly for the film, including alignment, sound, and brightness. Not every theater did, so IMAX hired 50 career projectionists to make sure that the movie was played perfectly. Each projectionist was provided with special training courses for the movie, and IMAX then sent them out to locations that didn’t have dedicated projectionists of their own.
Thankfully, all two years of preparation seem well worth the effort. Oppenheimer is not only a tremendous film, but alluring enough to entice the common moviegoer to see it in its special format, too. In fact, most theaters are pushing to extend their IMAX 70mm runs of the movie as long as possible — which is good news, since scalpers are already trying to capitalize on demand by selling tickets secondhand. But when it finally does leave theaters, we can all take comfort in the fact that there are closets big enough to hold an 11-mile-long movie.'

With less than a week’s notice, Louis Tomlinson announced two special shows, one in NYC and one in London, to celebrate the release of his sophomore album, Faith In The Future. To ensure no scalpers got tickets, fans had to go through an application process on Ticketmaster to verify they were going to be the ones using the tickets to the show. Tickets were requested on Monday, and by Thursday, fans knew whether or not they were selected for their purchase to go through.
The anticipation to see the One Direction-member-turned-BritPop sensation was high, especially because the NYC show was at Irving Plaza, a venue that holds about 1,000 people, and getting to see Tomlinson in such an intimate venue is a treat for his fans. The opportunity to feel up close and personal with the singer was something fans didn’t want to miss out on. The night before the gig, a line had already formed outside of Irving Plaza. Fans huddled together on blankets and shared snacks, and one girl was even sleeping on a full-size air mattress outside the iconic venue.
With 20 minutes until show time, the line to get into the venue still snaked around the block, but any signs of camping out the night before were long gone. Tomlinson and his band took the stage about half an hour later than expected so that all the fans could get into the venue. He looked like a well-dressed skater boy in a plaid collared sweater, what looks to be track pants and his signature just-rolled-out-of-bed hairstyle and started the set with "The Greatest," the first song off his new album. The excitement from the crowd was palpable, but rather than losing their minds in the pit, it was a sea of cellphones shoved toward Tomlinson trying to capture every moment of the live debut of his second record.
The set didn't just feature songs from Faith In The Future, though. Along with cuts from his debut, Walls, fans got to hear his unreleased song "Copy of a Copy of a Copy," and of course, he wouldn’t deny them his BritPop rendition of One Direction’s "Night Changes," a staple moment in a Tomlinson set. During his performance, the crowd seemed too mesmerized by being in his presence to really lose themselves in the music.
LGBTQIA+ fans have found a comfortable home supporting Tomlinson, and this support can be seen by a fair amount of rainbow flags waving in the crowd. His first single off Faith In The Future, "Bigger Than Me," became a defacto anthem, taking on a special meaning to fans that can be felt in their response to it being performed.
Throughout the set, there was minimal fan engagement — other than Tomlinson flipping off a few fans who are being cheeky in the front few rows. Every time he tried to address the crowd, his clearly thought-out monologues get interrupted by fans trying to get one of his signature sassy responses out of him. When he does manage to be raw with the audience, he’s sentimental and seems almost surprised by how passionate his fans are about his music. He addressed the crowd with a moving speech about how he wouldn’t have his career without them, saying, “I would not be able to make this record without all of your support. I stand upon this stage and think of what’s to come and feel really fucking confident and really fucking proud, and that’s all thanks to you.”
While it’s expected for Tomlinson to feel like a seasoned performer given his time in the world-renowned boy band One Direction, his comfort level in his solo music shows a different side to the singer. This music feels more organic to Tomlinson, after all. His lyricism and vocal abilities were always destined for BritPop, and getting to see him become the rock star he was always destined to be is a treat for new and old fans alike.

So apparently there was a scalper in Oz who managed to secure almost 100 preorders on the new box and is now selling them for almost double ^^
Why am I not surprised?
But the weird thing is- I really don’t care, personally! Of course it sucks because of this bag o dicks other people don’t get a copy; I’m sitting here, probably missed out on that box, and think “meh.. those models come individually eventually 🤷🏼♂️” and it’s quite freeing.
So many new releases I wasn’t able to get for lack of funds, at first I was angry, but now I’m just Meh, Some Other Time, Maybe..
In the future I’ll approach new purchases as I did with my Duârdin. Make a list of units I want and then buy them, paint them,..

@jakkstoys Articulated 4" Knuckles is here! These articulated Sonic figures have been my favorite domestic toy line of 2020, and wave 2 is just as good as 1! I'm so happy to have 4" renditions of Sonic and friends finally! But Knuckles comes with some problems inherent to his design. His head has a joint, but his spikes are very stiff, so maneuvering them around his shoulders and tail and near impossible. They do fit between the largest gaps, and the elbows do bend around them ok (one is bent slightly more than the other) but the bendy actually has much better head range. Of course I still prefer an articulated figure in general, as I'm much less scared of damaging it. Knuckles is solid! He comes with a grin, one fist and one gripping hand, though I'm sure future releases will have different expressions. The hands are easily popped off, so I'm definitely not worried about future options! He comes with a Chaos Emerald, flat on the bottom with a peg hole..for the 2.5" set. Though I'm not exactly sure which line they're trying to scale it with. You'd think 4" figures would come with 4" acessories and 2.5" figures would come with 2.5" acessories. Maybe the future will illuminate what they're trying to do here. Wave 2 of this line came quick and they have proven to be elusive! Big thanks to @mdewater and @bondadoso7 for picking up this wave for me! If you don't have access to it, dont worry about paying scalper prices! Knuckles should be reprinted early next year in wave 4. https://www.instagram.com/p/CFc3hgMJqO6/?igshid=22odnlc3p20g

Foreign exchange Signals - Ways to Instantly Trade That you Have Decades with Forex Trading Experience

forexsignals
You should think about forex signals if you're not yet dealing profitably, have reduced experience, or just will not have much time to dedicate to your forex trading.
forexsignals
In the simple one inbox a day variety to your forex mentor which sits with you hours holding your give as you trade, some sort of portfolio of foreign exchange trade alerts can be pretty much free and can change you into a successful trader instantly.
When like us you've got ever analysed some chart and nestled your own trades, you certainly will almost certainly have also lay in front of your display wondering if you have been doing the right issue.
Questions like "have I entered the following trade too missed? " and "am I trading inside right direction (long when I should be short)" will certainly have typed in your mind.
How many circumstances have you wished you'd an expert trader using decades of encounter guiding your trading, keeping you using dangerous trades, together with pointing you in the direction of trades with a better probability of financial success?
We were surely in that position so often in the early days, nevertheless always imagined the money necessary having an expert available would far outweigh any extra sales we might make. As it happens we were really wrong.
There are numerous solutions available, known variously as forex signs, forex alerts, and forex tips.
Dealing signals come in several formats, suited to the amount of of your day you may devote to trading. Together with yes beware, there are actually loads of scams available too, but we could show you how to avoid these, and we'll immediate you towards the far better ones.
Forex Trading Signs - many options
The main characteristics involving forex trading signals to learn are as follows;
Charge: Free OR per month subscription Complexity: Very simple "one email your day" OR Full-Service Control: You keep comprehensive control OR that signal provider deals your a/c for your needs Trading style: i. g. frequent scalper OR low sound swing trader
Like the forex signal may well at first seem like a wonderful idea, but once we will reveal these, you may very well ought to pay for a free membership service (yes, we realize that doesn't make sense : but read on)
Most forex trade alerts charge a very limited subscription fee, constantly in the region of USD $80 - $400 each and every month (although happily nearly every one is at the lower end from this range), while there are websites which furnish forex signals with regard to no charge.
In their least complicated form a foreign exchange signal will give you a forex notify email once on a daily basis listing trade arranged ups for the following 24 hours.
Some of these are generally purely computer produced, some are laptop computer generated and then audited by a human skilled, and some are altogether researched and provided exclusively by a people expert trader that may add some sector commentary to their foreign exchange forecast.
Some currency trading signals are excessive volume scalpers, phoning many trades daily aiming to profit a few pips on just about every. Others only telephone a few trades daily, aiming to profit 20 - 80 pips on each sole trade.
At the even more full-service end in the market is the version of forex signal product which provides you with the almost 24 hour or so a day live internet broadcast calling forex trade tips as they show up, explaining the common sense of the proposed deal and backing the idea up with an message or even a video clip.
A few forex trading signals may also trade their impulses in your own account for people, leaving you to simply sit back and watch. It's similar to what a robotic does by using currency trading signal software, although with the added confidence that it's being executed by an experienced smart human trader rather than dumb machine next an algorithm.
See full-service forex trading data like a forex TELEVISION SET station, which you have functioning in the background on your computer or internet linked laptop throughout your entire day. The broadcast stays quiet when there is practically nothing to do, freeing the effort for the other items in your day, in that case calls for your particular attention when there is a exchange to place or regulate.
You may be surprised, even as we were, to discover that prices charged just by full-service providers are frequently very similar to those loaded by the one e-mail a day providers.
Such a service usually additionally includes an interactive facility, enabling you to send out a message to your foreign currency trading mentor if you have a good question.
Many foreign currency signal services get very loyal subscriptions, and some even restrict the number of members they are going to accept.
Free foreign exchange signals (virtually)
Relating to the basis that time is usually money, in our viewpoint the amount of time we could now devote to alternative activities by not slaving over our chart for hours searching for an excellent trade set up, as well as the improvement within our trading results, comes with more than paid for abdominal muscles modest cost with the forex signal monthly subscriptions.
Indeed if you employ this logic, reoccuring based services may well effectively be 100 % free when you take into account the progress in your trading income, and the freeing of your energy for other lucrative activities.
If you think about this, a subscription based mostly forex signal company has a built-in motivator to call financially rewarding forex trading tips, since its subscriber bottom part would soon escape if it never provide profitable foreign exchange tips. "Free" no subscription signals should not have this incentive.
Regulate your risk
In a aspect of forex trading most of your goal is to take care of your risk. Picking out, and trading some sort of forex trade alert ought to be no different.
Quite possibly the best most skilled provider of currency trading signals will habitually have losing domestic trades. However taken by means of all of their winning foreign exchange trade signals the complete result should definitely profitable, but not just about all systems work at all times. Some forex informs may even have a entirely losing week and also month.
However , we now have found through our personal experience that the most convenient way of making consistent revenue with forex signs is to subscribe to distinctive currency trading signals and additionally trade all of their alerts. If one of them is actually having a particularly poor week, the others ought to compensate and still world-wide-web you a profitable 7 days, or break quite possibly at worst.
Constantly do your homework before trading some provider's forex signals. Good forex transmission services will distribute their last 6 - 12 a long time results on their internet site. Some will even demonstrate details of the actual investments they took. Be ready to see losses and winners - this is just the nature associated with trading. Indeed, in the event the results show just winners, or this provider is unable to show you any sort of results, or to give contact details of a number their clients able to give a reference end up on your guard.
Most offer some sort of free trial or even discounted special make available. Make sure that you clearly know the terms about this offer and fully understand the deadline with which you need to give see to terminate should you be not happy with the assistance provided.
If you examine the last 6 month's results of all the foreign currency trading signal service providers you mean to use, you should discover that taken as a whole they provided a profit.
Previous performance is no promise of future outcomes, but we have seen that if you have a superior combination of trading designs in your trading impulses portfolio you are with with a fighting chance for consistent profits regardless of the market conditions.
Ever again, think about the cashflow intuition of what you will get doing here -- the subscription bills of each forex data service are already really modest, and as a result of combining them you will be increasing your probability from consistent profits. They can not all get it wrong every time, and remember just about all incentivised by their own membership to get that right as often as they can.
Even with experienced people calling your trading, it's prudent associated risk management to never truly risk more than 3% of your initial funds on any one commerce, preferably only 1%. So , if for instance your initial investment capital, (or to put the application another way, maximum you can afford to help lose) is say 5, 000, the positioning size you tackle each trade has to be such that if the business hit your cease loss, your optimum loss would be just 1% x 5, 000 = 50.
Using forex signs as trade options
Even if you prefer to never follow forex ways to the letter, it is possible to still profit from ones own trade idea.
Like if you receive a foreign currency tip trading your GBP/USD long which includes a 40 pip end loss, but with analysing the stock chart (following your presence on a forex exercise course) you feel and placing the halt loss let's say 63 pips below connection, giving the give up protection below an obvious area of recent in addition to prior support, which often happens also to come to be below the every week pivot point, along with in doing so usually are happy to have a more time range target : then go correct ahead and do it.
We were thrilled to find that when people did exactly that with one of some of our forex signals' recommendations our trades really performed better than their own did. Two goes better than one probably.
The point is though, that will without the forex market prediction drawing our focus on that particular chart with that particular time we'd never have seen which trade idea.
Intimately related to makes the point this while it may in the beginning seem temping to help you let a signal company trade your are the reason for you, if you have plenty of time you may actually wish to control it one self.
If you have been through a superb forex training course together with understand the principles of support, level of resistance, pivot points, developments etc you should always that knowledge to perform ones own due diligence on foreign exchange alerts. You may properly find as we managed that you can enhance the performance of your portfolio with forex trade recommendations.
100 % free forex signals
The following section would not become complete without reference to forex signals service providers who don't demand any subscription charge.
As we mentioned above perhaps even subscription charging offerings should be effectively absolve to you by advantage of calling more than enough profitable trades so that you can more than cover a subscription cost.
Additionally we prefer to employ subscription based currency trading signals as they receive an incentive to constantly call profitable deals, in that their buyers won't stay with him or her for very long once they don't.
Free alerts by comparison have no these incentive, so end up warned and deal them at your own personal risk.

Consider: HSHQ has always been very profit-oriented. Harry's lifestyle is lavish. Visiting GoogleCamp twice would seem to indicate a strong interest in money-making. Not to mention, other artists do not have a "second family" headed by a man who's a top expert on Ticketmaster and concert venues in Irv. Irv is ruthless, profit-driven and not above bending rules or violating ethics e.g. funding an alt-right mayoral candidate in Inglewood in an attempt to block a competing venue from going forward.
I’m going to agree with you to a degree and disagree as well.
I actually don’t think that Harry’s lifestyle is any more lavish than Niall’s or Liam’s or largely any other person worth lots of millions. To me, Harry’s appearance at Google Camp signals that he does want to be a player and have more control over his future. Which, as a queer artist who’s been fighting for almost 10 years, I don’t blame him for that. We see Harry very VERY little. So people are extrapolating that his whole life is Met Gala and Google Camp. And I just don’t think that’s accurate. He’s wealthy, sure. But I don’t think lavish is the right word or concept.
What I will agree with is the Irv seems to be willing to do anything to make a buck. Step on whoever. Shut down contracts. Overcharge a charity, etc. So, yes, I believe that Harry’s team knows what’s up.
Mind you, I do believe that all of what we’re seeing in relationship to surge pricing can be explained to Harry as “anti-scalpers” and it’s highly possible he doesn’t push too hard on it. In general, I feel like Harry doesn’t really push too hard on stuff. He has opinions about specific things and then lets folks do their jobs.
This is also why I think it’s important that fans make the connection that this type of treatment isn’t ok for someone who claims to value their fans. He may not have put two and two together and needs to.
Of course, it’s possible that he’s just out to make the most money possible and I’m wrong about that. But I think if that were true the One Night Only event would have looked different.

The stimulus has appeared.
Unfortunately, all normally priced Nintendo Switch consoles are out of stock and scalpers have gone ape. Unless of course I wanted a Lite, but nobody wants a Lite. I mean, just because I don't currently have a TV doesn't mean I'd never want to hook my switch up to one in the future. Bad design, Nintendo.
So I'm looking at printers instead, cuz I need one desperately.

Couple of hours passed since victory of Geli Melun’s hearing. Ethan was satisfied with results of this and of course, seeing Geli punching Declan Nash’s face. Like a mentor, like a protégé he thought to himself all this trip to Donahue’s bar to celebrate her victory. It was not just her victory, it was his as well. He saw Naveen alive and aiding her in the hearing. Besides, Harper offered his job back which he accepted in the heartbeat just to work together with Geli. Once he opened the bar’s door, his heart stopped beating. His eyes aimed at Geli and how she looked in appearance. She wore Nighthawk’s shirt, white shorts while her cooper hair covered her shoulders. It reminded him of her being in baseball game together with her and making a deal with Banner Health exclusives. She was singing to One Direction- One thing song while holding an empty glass of margarita on her left arm. He walked to the bar table and greeted his old friend Reggie.
“ Well, what my old friend wants to order? Scotch again?” Ethan grinned, together with Reggie.
“ I order two glasses of scotch and...” He turned his head to look at Geli. Apparently Bryce Lahela aka Scalper Jockey was holding her close to his chest while they both singed a duet of Alan Walker- Faded. This view of them sparked jealousy inside Ethan. He thought that instead scalper jockey he should’ve hold her to his chest and sing together, he should’ve have Geli by his side and kiss her not that ‘Point Break’ like Dr. Mirani likes to call that surgical intern. Reggie saw flames and daggers inside Ethan’s eyes and he putted his hand on his shoulder to calm him down.
“ Don’t do this, buddy. You will embarrass yourself in front of everyone, besides I don’t know how your girl will react to this.” Ethan sighed and nodded his head.
“ As always, you are half- right about this, Reggie. Can you pour me two glasses of scotch and one glass of Margarita?” Reggie raised an eyebrow, grinning.
“ I see... you like that girl?” Ethan rolled his eyes, while Reggie chuckled.
“ I don’t...” Reggie coughed, interrupting Ethan’s “denial”.
“ What? Don’t bullshit me, Ramsey. I know you like her.” Ethan rolled his eyes again.
“ Can you just pour in my drinks already?” he practically snapped at him.
" Hey, I am not your intern in your hospital, old friend." Bartender poured his drinks while smiling. Ethan sighed while he took a glass of scotch and drank it while looking at Geli being very happy. She was dancing with Bryce while other people looked at them. Basically they were gods of dancing in this bar, bewitching people’s hearts very fast including Ethan Ramsey’s. Geli’s cooper hair was flying around while her hips moved around at Ethan’s direction which tightened Ethan’s crotch. He instantly covered his crotch to avoid any suspicions and looked away. His desire and need for her urged him to grab her and take her somewhere private, but he barely restrained his passion for her. Everytime he looks at her awakens his need of her. He continued drinking his second glass of scotch and later on taking a sip of margarita drink.
Meanwhile Geli was having so much fun with her roommates and Bryce. When she heard that Landry will be transferring to another hospital, made her very happy. She wouldn’t have to deal with jealousy anymore and sabotages. She offered Aurora to move in with her which made her happy that she will think about it. That evening was the beginning of a new chapter for Geli. Bryce wrapped his hands around her waist, holding her to his chest. His lips moved to her ear, seductively whispering.
“ I see you are unusually happy, kitten. “ Bryce smirked while Geli turned her face to look at him.
“ Yeah. I won the hearing, Landry is moving to another hospital and Aurora thinking about moving in with us... Yeah best day.” They both smiled like complete fools. Thirstiness and heat overcame Geli. She excused herself to go refill her margarita drink. She walked to a bar and saw Ethan drinking one glass of margarita and two glasses of scotch. She took a seat close to Ethan and grinned.
“ What’s up, margarita boy. Drinking away your problems?” Ethan turned his face to look at her and blushed.
“ No... Yes... I don’t know.” Only words he could bring out of his mind while looking at her beautiful looks. She leaned into a bar table and looked at Ethan’s eyes.
“ I see... You was staring at me all along.” Ethan’s face became full of red, embarrassed he tried to look away.
“ No, Rookie. I was looking at uh...” His eyes wandered around area to find a perfect excuse. Geli laughed at looking at him.
“ No use of hiding your emotions, Dr. Ramsey. Besides, when you are embarrassed you look like a tomato.” Ethan’s eyes popped when she said that he looked like a tomato. Part of him wanted to lash out on her while other- take her away on his shoulder and have an angry sex and teach her to obey him. He was imagining of her being naked, tied up to his bed and screaming his name, while he doesn’t stop and tortures her with a pleasure overcoming her. He smirked at that image of her. He sighed and turned his head to look at her.
“ A tomato, huh?” He leaned a bit to her direction, his lips touching her ear, whispering.
“ Listen, Rookie. I may be not your boss yet, but for that comment I will punish you and make you scream my name for forgiveness.” Geli’s eyes became confident and full of burning desire. She with seductive voice whispered to him, encouraging him.
“ Oh yeah? Is that a challenge? Why don’t you show me instead talking and you know that you are all talk, Ethan.” His lips bitten her earlobe, causing her to whim in pleasure. Ethan pays for his drinks and stood up from a chair, taking Geli on her shoulder and slapping her butt. She quietly yelped in excitement while Ethan went straight to the door, not caring how everyone looked at them. Naveen and Sienna observed whole scene from the other side of the room and looked at each other with a one-million- dollar smile on their faces.

Time is flying before my eyes, I cannot believe one of my favorite high-school era movies is now 20 years old with today’s entry for 1999’s Detroit Rock City (trailer). 1999 was an influential year for then-16-year old Dale with fond memories at the theater that year like The Matrix, Fight Club, Office Space, South Park, Payback and yes, even Go! I vividly remember my high school friend Rich and I being the sole people in the theater for Detroit Rock City and once we realized that a few minutes into the film, we then jumped at the opportunity to snag the pair of the far more comfortable handicap seats in the theater. Rich and I were somehow tamer version of the four high-school rebels who will overcome all odds put in their path to see their favorite band KISS, circa 1978 when KISS fever was running wild! Hawk (Edward Furlong), Jam (Sam Huntington), Trip (James DeBallo) and Lex (Giuseppe Andrews) are ardent KISS fans and even do routine garage-band jam sessions under the moniker, ‘Mystery.’ The opening features a fantastic Mystery rock session of them butchering I Wanna Rock N Roll All Night and setting the stage for all four being hyped to finally see KISS in concert. Obstacles are in their way however as Jam’s super-Christian mother (Lin Shaye) finds and burns their tickets and now the four must persevere on a road trip to Detroit and promise each other that no matter what they will find a way into that KISS concert.
I forgot how fast Detroit Rock City moved, it is only a 90 minute film and nearly the entire back half is the four arriving in Detroit and agreeing to split up with each Mystery-member going on their own mini-adventure to find a way at scoring KISS tickets. There is a lot of fun setup in the opening half, especially a couple fun high school hallway chase scenes and a delightful encounter with a pair of disco thugs, but the back half where the four split up is where the film shines. Jam bumps into an old classmate Beth (Melanie Lynskey), but not before bumping into his protesting mother. Lex gets into all kinds of mischief trying to sneak in backstage, Trip lives up to his name by attempting to beat up a little kid for tickets while Hawk enters a strip-dance contest in hopes of winning enough cash to get tickets from a scalper. All four paths go wildly off course, and when the four reconvene for one last ditch plan of scoring tickets I nearly lost it all over again watching the resulting plan unfold. I feel obligated to give props to the 70s rock tribute soundtrack. This can easily be a substitute for the next Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack, and this is one of only several movie soundtracks I own, but for good reason! Rest assured, it is not a slapped together best of KISS album, as the film’s featured band only has three songs in the soundtrack. The other 12 songs are a nice variety of classic rock jams and all-new covers. Everclear covers The Boys are Back in Town while Thin Lizzy themselves have Jailbreak included. Pantera has an awesome rendition of Cat Scratch Fever while Marilyn Manson reels in his own take on Highway to Hell. Black Sabbath’s Iron Man kicks in at one of my favorite scenes in the movie, and yes KISS’s Detroit Rock City is here in all its glory.
The original DVD release of this was one of several DVDs I purchased while eagerly awaiting the months leading up to the PS2 launch. It and the Fight Club DVDs were what turned me into a bonus features junkie with both having slick menus and loaded with extras. I am glad all the original DVD extras were carried onto the BluRay, but a little bummed at the lack of any BluRay exclusives. A quick thrown together panel with the cast and crew looking back many years later on the film I would have loved. As it stands, the returning extras are not slim picking by any means. There are 18 minutes of deleted scenes worth diving into to see interesting extended takes on several scenes and the only scene to a super-secret second movie they were going to make during downtime, but never panned out. Other bonus features highlights include an instructor teaching how to play I Wanna Rock N Roll All Night in under 10 minutes, alternate angles of the opening and closing scenes, a pair of music videos and two unique behind-the-scenes videos. Looking into the Sun features some wild editing as the four main cast members borrows a camera and films them goofing off intermittently throughout the production. Misc Shit is a longer, 37 minute all-encompassing making of feature interviewing the cast, crew and Gene Simmons too! Topping it off is three feature-length audio commentaries. Director Adam Rifkin is solely on one, several cast and crew members are stitched together from several recorded interviews in another, and all four members of KISS are interviewed separately in 15-20 minute chunks for the final commentary. I bounced between all three on my second viewing which was a fascinating experience, especially the way the interviews were kind of pasted together in some of the commentary tracks. Highlights from the commentaries include displeasure of not landing Jonathon Taylor Thomas in the lead role, KISS members reflecting back on their first film from 1978 and Rifkin fighting against the studio’s orders to edit down the film to a PG-13 rating. Despite lack of new extras, the recycled bonuses are well worth checking out again.
This movie hit at the perfect time for me which is why I have been raving about it throughout this whole entry. After seeing it initially with Rich, I watched my DVD copy several times in the following years after turning my brother onto the film. I am not a diehard KISS fan by any means, but you do not have to be to enjoy this film. I resonate with it on many levels because I can relate to the fandom of doing anything to see some of my favorite bands in my teenage years and how those first concerts I saw felt like mind-blowing experiences. Detroit Rock City nails that feeling to a T and the whole trek to get there is a journey as riveting as the final destination, and because of that I can only give Detroit Rock City my highest recommendation! Phoenix Fan Fusion 2019 -- Artist Alley Review May 23-26 2019 *Thursday - Sunday* ==Opinions expressed are completely my own, and from my own record. If your experience differed, then good for you. This is how the event unfolded for me. You are more than welcome to write your own review, and even allowed to vend at this event. Keep in mind my opinions are again, of my own accord.== Once again I decided to brave the desert sun and venture out of my comfortable air conditioned room to sell my various wares in the hopes of making a decent buck. After my hard drive crashed two weeks ago I had high hopes this event could at least cover part of those expenses. Oh boy, did this show do a 180 and nose dive into the deep end of the pool without bracing for impact. Where to start? I’ve been doing PCC (as it was formerly known as before the lawsuit involving San Diego vs some weird event in Colorado), for about 6 ish years now. Maybe closer to 10 by now. Point is, I’ve seen this show go from great things to downright lousy. This year was one of the lousier ones. For those who don’t know, or plum forgot, around 2 years back a man brought in real weapons, real bullet proof armor, and had threatened the life of one of the guests at the con. Idiot posted said exploits online where his one and only online chum alerted authorities and he was swiftly apprehended before he could do such vile acts. The next day the con had to crack down hard on security, as the city pressured them to not have one of those ‘mass shootings’ happen in THEIR city. (Hey I don’t want to be shot at either!) The whole scramble to get metal detectors and REAL security personnel (not just teen volunteers) took it’s toll as lines stretched for hours around the buildings in 110+ sweltering heat. Some passed out, others drenched in sweat, it was bad. Many vowed never to return, as last year did show a slight decrease in attendance. However the damage was already done. Last year the increased costs for security left the con with empty wallets and almost zero budget, they fell seriously into the red nearly going bankrupt because of it. So this year they revamped everything by cutting corners wherever they could. First thing- entry points restricted to just 3. I believe the prior year it was 5, so right there it’s not as many personnel you need to hire, or rather pay the company to hire. Secondly, they moved registration back inside the building, so saving on rental tents and such. Third, they really cut corners with the artist alley. They added more artists. Pipe and drape were scraped. Tables were now side by side, no gaps no 2 feet of spacing between you and your neighbors. Now everyone resided in 8 table deep rectangles with taped down walkways behind everyone to ‘allow entry/exit’ for the middle tables with mini pipe and drape at the ends to block out the attendees. Did I mention more artists? Seriously, they squeezed in so many that the aisles did not match up with the vendor aisles. Row 900 was actually row 1000 in artist alley. This confused several attendees walking by who would look up to see a huge banner saying one thing but the ground saying another. Our once nicely printed up table signs, which use to hang off of the pipe and drape backings were now lazily stapled to the front of tables, which fell off rather easily fyi. The rectangle of selling for each cluster of artists left many to just push their now brought from home photo backdrops to the very edge of their space, some not caring at all and just going over these 1.5 feet of ‘walkway’. Many tri-pod legs stuck out, I myself kicked a few out of frustration and even had to yell at a neighbor behind me who somehow thought the double lines were ‘his’ space. Again, no one ever came by and demanded the space be free. If pipe and drape were used instead it wouldn’t have been an issue. But being right up against each neighbor was infuriating to say the least. You couldn’t hang anything on the sides of your display for fear people would think it was your neighbor’s work. Without the pipe and drape the sea of artists looked horrid. Random photo backdrops as far as the eye could see. Some looked good, but others yuck. For those who don’t have backdrops it looked just like a big yard sale. And a lot, and I mean A LOT of tables were left empty. At cons it’s common for a few people not to show up, emergencies happen, but heck even my neighbor didn’t show allowing me to stretch out onto his space (free of charge kind of nice). Besides this they never did closing announcements. You got one at 5 minutes till but nothing else. Not saying every con does this, but at a show this big, and a hall this grand, you have to warn the public. “Hey guys 1 hour until the vendor hall closes!” “Not to alarm you all but the hall closes in 30 minutes!” “Better make those last minute purchases, hall is closing in 10 minutes. Please start making your way to the exit!” Nope, none of this. Also, randomly, on Saturday around noon someone got a hold of the overhead PA system and started blaring music. It was so loud we all were covering our ears. After song number two started to play I rushed over to the exhibit hall manager booth where I kid you not an ARMY of angry vendors were ready to lynch someone. Eventually the music cut off and we all cheered, but never heard how that happened. Maybe a blu-tooth thing?
Security. Oh boy. They had MAJOR problems. This was supposedly the same company hired the prior year, but man they didn’t act like it. Prior year everything ran smoothly, never a problem, but this year it felt like rookies-r-us training camp or something. Day 0 I overheard one of them, as they searched me ask another “Uh.. what do I do again?” Not exactly encouraging to hear. I get not all of them can be trained veterans of this, but most acted like day 1 newbies. Each day their ‘allowed/not allowed’ list changed. Sometimes they allowed bottled water, other days nope toss it. Luckily being a vendor they allowed me all the bottles of soda and water and snacks, but I heard the rumors. Some said they had to toss their sealed Gatorade or sandwiches in bags. And sometimes I was allowed in any entry point, the last two days they forced me to the one furthest away. Again, you guys can’t change the rules EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Pick something stick with it. Heck on one day, I think Friday, I got in the specialty line but the staff pointed me to general and said it “would be quicker”. Ok whatever. So I hoped over, nope. It wasn’t. Guys in front of me reeked of BO, and this was at 9am, and of course had bags in a bag in a bag. So searching took FOREVER. As I’m waiting for my turn a supervisor approaches me and points to the other line saying “Madam vendors are supposed to go through the specialty line-” I cut her off “YES I know, YOUR employee sent me HERE. I’m not hopping lines, I’m staying here. Go yell at her.” She tried to make me go but gave up after a bit. Never had this problem before. Makes me wonder what this company did to suddenly get a bunch of rookies working for them who haven’t got a clue. OH. With the weird ness too, some days they made me open the money box and shuffle through it, other days nope didn’t care! AGAIN IT WASN’T CONSISTENT. NOT ONE BIT. Bathrooms. Another disgusting beast. This convention center has multiple bathrooms, I’m thankful for that, but the one closest to me oh boy, it was busy almost every hour. It reeked by the end of day one and never lost that lovely wretched odor of feces, urine, and chlorine. Did I forget to mention that cleaning staff, fed up with doing their one job of cleaning, almost went on strike during this? They complained to the con saying the bathrooms were too hard to maintain during this crazy event, and had threatened to just up and close the downstairs restrooms as a consequence. Con luckily put their foot down, but it did explain why at one point I saw the barrier up around the bathroom while the cleaning crew gave me the stank eye as I had to walk further down to whiz. So, the take away, if you didn’t bother to read my lovely little rant. PROS: - 8 foot table - 3 badges per table - Largest show in AZ - Easy to get into (application wise) - Big attendance numbers - Several hotels near by - Easy walk from light-rail (public transit)
CONS: - Table cost over $300 (for inline) - Table cost varying $300-500+ (endcaps higher) - Security and flip flop rules - No ‘cheap’ food alternatives - No food trucks, only con center food court - Strict food ban (cannot bring in whole pizzas) - No free parking - Booth space reduced - Pipe and drape gone (possible cost in future) - TONS more artists now - Guests not best draws - Crowded but not a lot of buyers - Huge homeless problem (it is downtown) - Ticket scalpers, you have been warned - Aisles narrowed - Tables side by side (no exits for some)
