Floyd Craver
For the General Court Martial of the May 27th incident he is charged with two counts of murder and an attempted murder. For escaping the stockade he is charged with desertion and escape from confinement. His clemency was granted November 13, 1959.
Previous court martials were:
Summary Court martials: Total of seven
-April 27, 1945 - AWOL for 2 days
-January 11, 1945- AWOL for 1 day
-January 6, 1944- Drunk in public (probably the car theft)
-June 30, 1943- AWOL
-January 2, 1943- drunk in public
-February 9, 1943- AWOL
-May 15, 1943- Disobedience.
Company cards here and here and car theft.
Per his shrink eval, one was for drunk and car theft, two AWOLs for being drunk, and an AWOL for when his son was born.
From the Psychologist interviews/review boards/evaluations: Dr. Soltz interviewed him first (June 13) and closest to the May 27, 1945 incidents. Other board interviews were before trial Sept 1945 and follow up on review in March 1946.
Craver's father, Floyd Craver Sr., was blown up by dynamite while on a prison chain gang in June 1922, his death certificate states it was his own negligence. (source: death cert) In speaking with the psychologists in the ETO he states numerous times his Dad (unknown) died when he was 3. Floyd was born August 1921.
He also states his mother remarried when she was 47, when it appears she got remarried in her late twenties. Tells Dr. Soltz he was reared by his step Dad and Mom had multiple nervous breakdowns. (GCM) He had three half brothers. One died in infancy. (find a grave) Mother did write the review board, contacted a senator, and get a lawyer to try and get her boy out of jail. (GCM)
He left school in fifth grade to work.(1946 shrink council) Started school late as he had burns on his body at age six. Made it to fourth grade at age 14 with a lot of truancy. (Soltz- 1945) He worked as a bell hop, in a textile mill, truck driver (all interviews.) and pimp (1946 interview). Been using alcohol and drugs since he was 16 (1946) or at 18 (1945). Gambles and considers it supplemental income. Married at 21, wife was 17 and he was courting her for a year and had sexual relations. Had a son after marriage. Has had extramarital relations mostly with prostitutes. Was in the National Guard. Volunteered for parachute infantry and completed an 8 week course and landed in England in Feb 1945. Landed in Germany April 3, 1945, Austria May 10, 1945. Had one month of combat.
Psychologist range from thinking he was insane to just plain stupid. Soltz is the only doctor who is fixated on Craver's enjoying fellatio by men and women and can't wait to bring that up in trial. He feels that this is a perversion and the homosexual desires stem from his marijuana use. Implies at one point without any evidence or objection from anyone, that Craver found some Meth at Berchtesgaden and that's why his eyes were crazy red during the murder of German Captain. NO evidence, just he read an article once. He also really thinks him nuts for spending 500 Francs for 15 joints. Craver does tell Soltz his squad found some pot at Berchtesgaden. Soltz records he get a high of exhilaration from it but no desire for sexual stimulation other than fellatio. (He really is obsessed with this.) Tells Soltz he had some opium in Baltimore in Dec 44, at Mourmelon in March '45 , and hit up morphine in April '45. Smokes regular tobacco 1/2 pack a day but does not smoke aspirin.
And he also hallucinates his Mom, wife, child saying "Be good. Come home". "Has been in communion with God, who has spoken to him." And "feels that he is imbued with the powers to read other people's minds". Dr. Soltz is not concerned about these, thinks that's just normal to have your family saying come home and a product of an over religious Mom to talk to God, and never asks about the mind reading because it's clearly not as much of a concern as blowjobs.
Dr. Soltz has the most experience of anyone in Neuropsychology, the other doctors admitting they do not specialize in it. Soltz exudes arrogance and prejudice in his testimony and I admit I don't like him. A little poking around into him reveals post war he is living on Park Ave in NYC and in private practice. He also gets his ass sued by the wife of a client, because he had her committed even though he never had her as a patient.

Janice Marilyn Foster, 18 (USA 1971)
Tumblr media
18-year-old Janice Foster was approved by a hospital committee for a “therapeutic” abortion. Richard M. Neal, the abortionist, examined Janice and decided she was 12 weeks pregnant. The suction abortion was done at Valley Doctor’s Hospital on September 11, 1971. Neal reported that he thought it was uneventful. He couldn’t have been more wrong.
Janice’s brother-in-law picked her up from the hospital after the abortion and noticed she was very weak and sleepy. He brought her home, but she started suffering from abdominal pain. In September 14, the scared and sick teenage girl called Neal and told him what was happening. He didn’t tell her to go to the emergency room and simply said he would see her the next day.
That night, Janice felt very sick and went to bed early. At around 2:00 A.M., she suffered hot and cold flashes for approximately twenty minutes and then went into convulsions. Her brother-in-law called for help, and police and paramedics came. They found Janice in bed, apparently unresponsive. Paramedics attempted to revive her on the way to the hospital, but she was dead on arrival.
Janice’s autopsy revealed the malpractice and negligence she suffered at Neal’s hands. Her vagina was full of pus. The placenta was still attached to her boggy uterus, which also contained her baby’s mangled and rotten corpse. Janice died without knowing she was not in the first trimester, but unintentionally had an abortion at 19 weeks. Her son’s “macerated, lacerated and purulent” body “shows lacerations in the shoulder area, evisceration of the bowel through an abdominal laceration, and destruction of the skull and facial structures.” The uterus also held "approximately 20 cc. of red-brown purulent and foul-smelling liquid with similar odor and color to an exudate on the endometrial surface." In less than four days, Janice’s body had been ravaged by sepsis. It would have been an excruciating death for herself as well as her son.
Neal was indicted on a felony manslaughter charge in Janice's death by an LA County grand jury. His first trial ended in a hung jury on March 24, 1976 after four days of deliberation. The second trial ended in a hung jury on November 1, 1976 on the fifth day of deliberation. After two mistrials, a motion was successfully brought forth to dismiss the charges. Neal got to go back to his life in Beverly Hills as if Janice and her baby never existed.

GCM 2025 Training Log – April 2025
The GCM25 (my 12th!) build has started. April will have me clear 2.5 of 12 weeks leading up to what I hope to be a breakthrough, or at minimum solidify my position for Boston 2026. Having this minimum buffer is distressing and I’m trying to look at it as a fear motivator to put in the necessary work. By necessary work, it would mostly be what I did during the Seoul build: Meet the weekly…

December 21st, 2024 (1/3) - maimai BUDDiES PLUS, Arcaea, Phigros
yeah so... i don't think i even need to start writing the post to know this one's gonna be a massive two-parter LOL . as far as i knew, today would be the last day i'd get to play this games for the year (and for quite a while after, too . not sure when i'll get the chance again...) . it was tragic, but i knew this was on the coming up for quite a while now and had already planned out what i wanted to do in advance or this special occasion. so, ignoring the impending conclusion to this arc and deciding to make the most of it instead, let's uhhhh do just that!!! a massive session full of scores across maimai, chunithm, and the other games available here, starting of course with the maimai!!!
it's near impossible to comment on every single score of this session (also given they're all kinda bad in their own ways w, you can just look at em each individually and tell), but if i had to comment on them overall? despite how bad they are objectively, they're way better scores than i could've dreamt of getting way earlier in my time playing maimai. of course, i've barely really played maimai at all (my first time playing was earlier this year at a con, after all), but even back then the best i could manage was an A on a 10... but now i'm getting those types of scores on super complex 13s? and it feels like i'm only getting better and better at reading and understanding patterns with each session... it's a beautiful thing to witness imo, and it makes my efforts to improve in this game (which is nothing like what i've played before) feel all the more meaningful . when maimai officially comes to the US, i hope to keep that streak going and to stand tall with the greats or the most dedicated of maimai players in the near future... it's a long road ahead, but i'm building my way up piece by piece... oh right, also 10K Rating Get!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
whew...! that was a ton of maimai, but my arms and palms are screaming for a break... i still stayed in the queue, of course, but it was getting longer and longer... which meant i could get through some of my dailies for games like arcaea and proseka!!! mainly on the arcaea side though, i did get a shocker of a score without any headphones or real audio cues... a PM on Hypnotize (ETR-9+, MAX-55) as ETR PM #13!!! ...yeahyeah, i know, not my best shiny acc at all, but i have no real way to improve it in the current setting unless i try playing with my bluetooth headphones... and because shortly after, i got this . WILD ASS SCORE on Ikazuchi [FTR-10], that being... an upscore to 1 lost??? out of nowhere??? lord almighty the GCM buff is real... but again, can't close it out in my current setting :[ maybe sometime later...
oh right, i got chuni penguin through world mode just now too!!! but i need to use as few images as possible due to the image limit, so can't include it unfortunately. just know that i got it !!!! okay!!! i'm not lying!!! i would never lie!!! totally!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...wellll, it was my turn in maimai once again, so let's get this show back on the road and set some (debatably) cool new records!!! once again, it's nothing to really note -- it's all just AAAs and AAs on 12+s and 13s, but even that's impressive to me!! after all, i couldn't even clear any of these at one point... but to summarize, that means progress and improvement is coming along smoothly, and that's quite a good thing!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
phigros break!!! had to show off this chart to a friend who was obsessed with TECHNOPOLIS 2085 in ongeki and chunithm, as its phigros chart was basically a recreation of the chuni chart (sorta). ...alas, i still can't really score well on this chart, but hey!!! i managed to walk away with a 911k on this chart in the end!!! not that bad for a lap play!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
aaaand wouldya look at that, i've already hit the image limit LMFAO . alright then, last two maimai scores i can share before i hit the image limit, and they're the shockingly good ones of this session!!! both were master 11+s, sure, but one was in the form of an incredible new FC on INTERNET YAMERO [Master Lv. 11+], and the other was an upscore to an S on Seishun Complex [Master Lv. 11+]!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
aaaand that's all for this post!!! i went through the images again to make sure they were all even able to fit in one more post and No, they weren't, i was still a good 10 images over the limit LMFAO . thus, i must correct myself in saying this was going to be a two-parter, as it was now set to be a three-parter... i apologize for the inconvenience and the feed spam, but i promise that my future posts after this weekend's posts (yes, the 22nd will be a two-parter, sorry for the inconvenience wwww)

How to Get GCMS Notes Faster: A Comprehensive Guide
Tumblr media
Introduction
Today we will tell you about how to get gcms notes faster. Obtaining your Global Case Management System (GCMS) notes is an essential step in navigating the Canadian immigration process. These notes contain valuable information about your application status, any concerns or issues that may need attention, and details of your immigration file.
However, many applicants find the process of requesting and receiving GCMS notes to be time-consuming and frustrating. In this comprehensive guide, we will walk you through the steps to help you get your GCMS notes faster, allowing you to stay informed and make informed decisions regarding your immigration application.
1. Understanding GCMS Notes
Before we delve into the methods for obtaining your GCMS notes more quickly, let's start by understanding what GCMS notes are.
The Global Case Management System (GCMS) is a centralized database used by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to manage immigration applications. GCMS notes are detailed records that immigration officers create during the assessment of your application. These notes include information about your eligibility, background checks, security checks, medical assessments, interview notes, and any correspondence related to your application.
2. Why Are GCMS Notes Important?
GCMS notes play a pivotal role in your immigration journey for several reasons:
Transparency: They provide transparency by revealing the progress of your application, the status of background checks, and any concerns raised by immigration officers.
Error Detection: You can identify errors or discrepancies in your application early on, allowing you to rectify them promptly.
Appeal and Review: In case of a refusal, GCMS notes are crucial for understanding the reasons behind the decision, which can be essential for lodging an appeal or requesting a review.
Preparation: Knowing what is happening with your application helps you prepare for potential interviews, medical exams, or additional documentation requests.
3. Traditional GCMS Request Process
The standard process for obtaining GCMS notes involves submitting a formal request to the Canadian government. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:
Step 1: Gather Required Information Before you can request your GCMS notes, you need to gather specific information, including your Unique Client Identifier (UCI), application number, full name, date of birth, and other relevant details.
Step 2: Download and Fill Out the Access to Information Request Form (ATIP) Visit the official website of the Government of Canada to download the Access to Information Request Form (ATIP). This form is used for requesting GCMS notes.
Step 3: Submit the Request Form Fill out the ATIP request form, ensuring you provide accurate information. Send the completed form by mail to the address provided on the form along with the required processing fee. The processing fee may vary depending on the government's policies at the time of your request.
Step 4: Wait for Processing After submitting your request, you will need to wait for the government to process it. This can take several weeks or even months, depending on the volume of requests they are handling.
Step 5: Receive Your GCMS Notes Once your request is processed, you will receive your GCMS notes by mail. These notes typically arrive in the form of a large package, and it's essential to review them carefully.
4. Expedited GCMS Request Process
If you are looking to speed up the process of obtaining your GCMS notes, there are methods to expedite your request:
Method 1: Contact Your Local Member of Parliament (MP) Your local Member of Parliament (MP) can be a valuable resource in expediting your GCMS request. MPs have access to dedicated channels within the government and can request updates on your behalf. Contact your MP's office, provide them with the necessary information about your case, and ask for assistance in expediting your GCMS notes request.
Method 2: Submit a Case-Specific Enquiry You can submit a case-specific enquiry through the IRCC webform. This method allows you to inquire about the status of your application and request expedited processing of your GCMS notes. Be sure to provide all relevant details in your enquiry, and clearly explain the urgency of your request.
Method 3: Seek Legal Assistance If you have retained the services of an immigration lawyer or consultant, they may have established channels for expediting GCMS requests. Legal professionals often have established relationships with government offices and can use their expertise to help you receive your GCMS notes faster.
5. Key Tips for Faster GCMS Notes
In addition to the methods mentioned above, here are some key tips to further expedite the process of obtaining your GCMS notes:
Keep Records: Maintain meticulous records of all your communications with IRCC, including dates, names of officers you spoke to, and details of the conversation.
Be Polite and Persistent: When dealing with government agencies, it's essential to remain polite and patient. However, also be persistent in following up on your request to ensure it doesn't get lost in bureaucracy.
Stay Informed: Regularly check the status of your application on the IRCC website. Sometimes, GCMS notes are generated but not yet mailed. If you see that your application has progressed, it's a good time to follow up on your request.
Seek Professional Guidance: If you're unsure about the process or feel overwhelmed, consider seeking advice from immigration experts or legal professionals who specialize in Canadian immigration.
6. Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I request GCMS notes for someone else's application? A1: No, you can only request GCMS notes for your own immigration application.
Q2: How much does it cost to request GCMS notes? A2: The processing fee for requesting GCMS notes may vary, so it's best to check the official IRCC website or contact them for the most up-to-date information.
Q3: Can I request expedited processing for free? A3: Expedited processing may not always be available for free. Some methods, such as contacting your MP or seeking legal assistance, may involve additional costs.
7. Conclusion
Obtaining your GCMS notes is a crucial step in your Canadian immigration journey, allowing you to stay informed about the status of your application and address any concerns promptly. While the traditional request process can be slow, there are methods to expedite the process, such as contacting your local Member of Parliament, submitting case-specific enquiries, or seeking legal assistance.
Remember that patience and persistence are essential when dealing with government agencies, and staying informed about the progress of your application can help you time your GCMS request more effectively. By following the tips and methods outlined in this guide, you can increase your chances of receiving your GCMS notes faster, giving you greater control over your immigration journey.

Friends
Pairing: NCT x reader
Genre: one shot, fluff
Summary: You’ve been a close friend of NCT for a long time. They love you and they can get very protective of you, so when you start seeing a guy, they start bombarding him with questions.
Note: Just a light scenario to refer back to when I post a serious(ly long) one shot with some angst--not a lot of angst, but it’s there and more prevalent than all of my posts combined so far, so get ready! In the meantime, enjoy this light fluff!  _______________________________________________________________________
It was one minute and twenty-seven seconds since you sat down in the living room with your boyfriend, who was right by your side, and all you wanted to do was dig a hole and stay in there.
There they were, gathered around you two, with their hands under their chins, staring blatantly at your boyfriend. You mentally deadpanned. Just what on Earth were they doing? To you, there was one simple answer to that: they wanted to embarrass you and scare off the first boyfriend you’ve had in months.
As an only child, you never experienced what it was like to have a protective sibling watching out for you, but there was no need for one when you had the boys. You love them and understand that they’re looking out for you, but there were times when they could have toned down their protective mode (by a lot), like when you brought your boyfriend over to their shared apartment.
“So how long have you been seeing our sister?”
You glanced many times at your boyfriend (you couldn’t afford to take your eyes off of your crazy friends in fear they might do something regrettable) as you assured him, “You know they’re not actually-”
Haechan waved you off. “We’ve been friends with her since elementary school, some of us since pre-school, so we’re basically family.”
Jaemin joined with a menacing gaze. “You’re both on a vacation with one of your best friends.”
  “Nana, what-”
Chenle was the second to cut you off. “And both of them are drowning.”
Jisung leaned forward with anticipating eyes. “Who do you save?”
“Hey, that’s ridiculous,” you exclaimed. “We’ve only been going out for two weeks.”
“Let the guy speak for himself,” Jeno said for the first time, directing his comment to you.
Renjun nodded in agreement. “He hasn’t spoken since he introduced himself,”
Those two little angels practically pushed your boyfriend to his deathbed because they knew that there was no right answer: whatever answer your boyfriend chose, they would be dissatisfied and would press for more information, demanding for an explanation. All eyes were on your boyfriend, including yours. You watched your poor partner gulp as the intensity of the moment reached its pinnacle. He averted his gaze to you in a very shaky manner, and you knew that the youngsters had gotten to him. There was going to be no end to this torment.
  ...
The torment the younger boys gave you and your boyfriend was brutal, but it was nothing compared to the scheme the others plotted. If the younger ones were a pre-screening trial, the others were the real test.
“So what do you do for a living?”
“What do you plan on doing once you graduate from college?”
“Where did you go to high school?”
“Where did you take our beloved sister out on the first date?”
“Do you know GCM? Because we all like GCM. Our beloved sister loves GCM.”
“What flavor of ice cream do you like?”
“Do you take the first bite of a fish-shaped bread from its tail or head?”
“Have any of your ex-girlfriends broken up with you because of a personality issue of yours?”
  “Are you sane?”
That last question was thrown by your peculiar friend Mister Kim Jungwoo. For him, that was a sane question.
It was one question after another and it was if your boyfriend was participating in some kind of an interrogation by the police, except all of the questions were absolutely ridiculous.
  “Do you like cheese?”
That was another question asked by, again, Mister Kim Jungwoo, making you scream internally.
It truly was a tortuous evening, and your friends would not take one second to rest. To your comfort, your boyfriend was perfectly able and answered all of them, though he did so sometimes stuttering not because he was nervous but because the questions were so absurd that he was taken aback.
It was supposed to be a normal dinner. There was supposed to be eating and pleasant conversations. Instead, there was a bunch of stabbing the chicken in the chicken salad and sipping the glass of wine like tea. Not one bit of that evening was pleasant for you.
The only person who didn’t say anything was Mark, and you were pleased that there was at least one decent person in the room who respected your space and your boyfriend’s privacy. At least, that was until you walked your boyfriend out the door, profusely apologizing on behalf of your protective pack of wolves. Being the most considerate and understanding person you knew, he shook his head and laughed it off. You loved the way he laughed and the way he was so chill about everything. You were so fortunate to have found someone incredible like him.
Under the orange light that the entryway provided, his smile was too radiant for you to handle. It was like a magnet. You pulled yourself closer to his body and let your hands travel to his sides.
“Really? You don’t think that they were a tad too much?” you said, making sure your head was pulled back a little so that he could get a good view of your smile.
With his hands supporting your back, he answered, “Maybe, but I understand.”
He seriously was an amazing guy. The electrifying moment, his eyes gazing into yours and your bodies touching with such warmth, had the opportunity to be an amazing one. Of course, someone had to sabotage the moment. You were kind of expecting it. The thing is, it never occurred to you that the one person who was silent the entire time could be the one who stooped the lowest.
“It’s okay that they love you,” left your boyfriend’s lips before you leaned in.
“You got that right,” a voice said, popping out of nowhere.
Behind the two of you was Mark Lee, who was standing there so naturally with a jumbo-sized bag of chips in his hands. His eyes twinkled with no mischief, but his grin was like Cheshire Cat.
“No kissing on the first meeting with your in-laws,” he said quite loudly, reaching for another chip.
  And that did it.
“Kissing?!” you heard multiple voices shout.
You and your boyfriend automatically exchanged looks that mirrored each other’s fright.
Mark, still grinning, added, “We’ll always be watching you.”
Before you could usher your boyfriend away, he sent you a quick smile before (quickly) scrambling out the door. At the time, it was safe to say that you wouldn’t be hearing from him for a week (but you didn’t know that he would be willing to meet the chaotic boys again because he was that amazing).
All you could do was look at your wicked friends standing in front of you at the entryway.
You shook your head and sighed in defeat. “I’m gonna stay single forever.”
They simply replied, “Then we’ve done our job.”

In this guide, you’ll learn how you can send push notifications using Firebase in Android.
Excited?
Related: Firebase VS AWS
Let’s get started.
Curious to see the end result of this tutorial? Watch!
What is a Push Notification?
Push notification is a simple message that appears with a notification in the notification tray or like a popup messaging – depends on the platform.
Push Notifications are usually pushed from backend servers to the clients like Firebase in this case. It is the way to deliver users a message without opening the app. It is a highly effective tool for developers and advertisers to re-target/re-engage your dormant users.
Push notifications boost app engagement by 88% (Source: Localytics Data Team)
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
As you can see, the push notifications get benefits most from the eCommerce stores since users are excited about the new products.
What is FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
Firebase Cloud Messaging is a new version of Google Cloud Messaging or GCM that is a cloud cross-platform messaging solution. You can use Firebase Cloud Messaging for any kind of end-user device including iOS, Android, or even web at no-cost.
Firebase allows two types of messages:
Firebase SDK automatically handles notifications messages. All you need to do is to implement the Firebase SDK and start sending messages from Firebase Console.
The client app handles data messages.
NOTE: In this tutorial, we’ll be sending a notification message only.
Firebase Push Notification Tutorial (Step by Step)
Here is the step by step guide how you can implement Firebase push notification with an example:
1. Things You Need to Get Started
Android Studio
A Firebase account (you can use the same Google account – no extra sign up required)
A real Android device or an emulator to test your Android App
2. Create an Application in Android Studio
Open Android Studio and create a new project.
Enter the app details – the app name, domain name, location – and leave the rest as default i.e., the empty activity, and minimum Android version. In my case, the package name of my app is ‘com.firebasetutorials.testingnotification’ but you can have one of your choices.
After Android Studio finishes the building App for you, leave it, and move to the next step, we will soon get back to Android Studio.
Creating Application in Android Studio for Firebase Push Notification
  3. Setup Firebase for Push Notification
There are three steps to set up Firebase for your Android app notification:
Signing up
Creating a Project
Registering an App
Sign up for Firebase
Before anything, you need a Firebase account. Click here and signup for Firebase Console or sign in using your Google account.
Create a Project
Now visit the Firebase Console and hit ‘Add Project’. Enter Project name, select Country/region. And hit ‘Create Project’
Create project at Firebase Console for Android Push Notification
Register App with Firebase
There are three simple steps to get your Android App Registered with Firebase:
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Register App
After your first project is completed, you’ll see a page like below. Hit ‘Add Firebase to your Android App’
Adding Android app at Firebase Console for Android Push Notification
Enter ‘Android package name’. In my case, it is ‘com.firebasetutorials.testingnotification’ – you can enter one of your choices.
NOTE: Package name should be exactly the same as the app package name. Otherwise it will not work.
Enter ‘App nickname’. I’m entering the ‘Testing Notification App’ – you can enter anything;  it has nothing to do with your app.
The third field is for ‘Debug signing certificate SHA-1’ you can skip it at this point as we are not going to use Firebase Authentication.
Hit ‘Register App’ to get your app registered with Firebase
Registering App for Firebase Console Notification
  Download Config Files
Hit ‘Download google-services.json’ button to download a JSON file. Save the JSON file under the app directory of your Android Studio project we just recently created.
Downloading Config file for Android from Firebase Console
Add Firebase SDK
After downloading the JSON file under the App Directory of your project hit Continue on Firebase Console Dialog.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
In Android Studio, open build.gradle file. You will find it in the project directory, but not the one that is in your app directory. Add the following line of code inside dependencies:
classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:3.2.0'
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
After adding the dependencies, your project will look like this:
Added classpath in build.gradle for Firebase Push Notification in Android
After adding this, you will see a yellow message, asking you to sync the project. You can ignore it at the moment. Now head over to app-level build.gradle file. You will find it under the app directory of your project.
Add the following lines of in dependencies section
compile 'com.google.firebase:firebase-core:11.8.0' //Firebase Messaging library for sending push notifications compile 'com.google.firebase:firebase-messaging:11.8.0'
And at the end, outside of the dependencies section, add the following line and hit ‘Sync Now’
apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-services'
And your build.gradle file will look like this:
Implement Firebase SDK in Android Studio for Push notification | Build.gradle (App) Screenshot
That’s all we need to do in Android Studio.
Send Notification from Firebase Console
Get back to Firebase Console. Open the Firebase project, on the left pane select ‘Notification’ or click here
Firebase Notification in Firebase Console
  Hit ‘SEND YOUR FIRST MESSAGE’
Send First Notification in Firebase Console
And you’ll see the ‘Compose Message‘ form, where you can enter the details.
In ‘Message Text‘ enter the message that you want to be displayed in the Notification Bar of your Android App
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
In ‘Message Label‘ you can enter the message nickname, it has to do nothing with the notification at the client-side, it is just for saving purpose in Firebase Console.
In the ‘Delivery Date‘ drop-down, you can select the delivery time. If you select ‘Send Now‘ your message will be sent and displayed instantly. If you select ‘Send Later’ then some more options will be displayed asking for when you want to send the notification to your users.
You can mark the ‘Recipient Time Zone‘ option and your message will be delivered according to the recipient time zone or you can provide any custom timezone.
Recipient Time Zone is very useful because sometimes we want to send notification on some custom events like New Year. Due to timezone differences, your message can be shown to users before New Year and make them feel annoyed. So it’s better to use the ‘Recipient Time Zone‘ option with that kind of notification.
Send Later Option in Firebase Console
In this tutorial, we will select the ‘Send Now’ option to make the notification sent right now.
In the target section, we can target a custom range of users depending on their behavior and much more. We will be covering that all in a whole new section.
In the next drop-down, select the app package name. You can select multiple apps simultaneously, but they all need to be on the same project.
After that, there are ‘Conversion events’ options, here you can track the analytics data of your notification. The ‘Sent‘ and ‘Opened‘ are added by default, but you can add more.
Sent and Opened are shown in the Notification Section in Firebase to show you how many users received the notification message and how many opened it. We are not adding a conversion event for the sake of this tutorial.
In the end, there are few ‘Advanced Options’, but we will keep the default. Those are for Data Messages; we will cover that all in detail later.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Now hit, ‘Send Message‘ to make the notification sent to the client app.
Your Notification will be displayed on your Android Phone, and if you tap on that notification, it will open the app.
You can watch the video above if you don’t understand the text.
Ask any questions in the comment section below, our experts will be happy to help you at no extra cost.
