Time to vomit all of my thoughts then-

Also I'm gonna say this- Freddy isn't possessed by Michael Afton in this. I don't mind Glammike, but I love the idea of Freddy just becoming a “deviant” I guess. Robots becoming human. They should totally make a game or something… wink wink.

I'm gonna just dig into the lyrics and breakdown my thought process for some of the frames… (I'm not doing every lyric, only some that stood out)

So, the meaning of “My Way” is based around self determination, that's the basic gist. I personally interpreted it as individualism, seeing how the lyrics have certain phrases based around it.

I had heard this song at the beginning of this year and immediately thought of Freddy. I also remember hearing the ai cover version at one point… (moving on)

And it was pretty obvious that most people agreed that this was his song.

I started the scene with Freddy walking on the third floor atrium, and I guess I took “I face the final curtain” literally since he's looking at the main stage lmao

My friend, I'll say it clear

Small side note, it's literally the most miniscule detail, but I felt like he was referring to Bonnie when he said “my friend” … It doesn't help that he's on the same floor as Bonnie Bowl.

I've lived a life that's full

Freddy reflecting about his “life” performing alongside his friends, I specifically added Chica because she's one of the remaining members of the original trio. :)

Regrets I've had a few

But then again, too few to mention

I did what I had to do

And saw it through without exemption

This verse was the best way to describe Freddy's situation. He had to not only escort this kid around the pizzaplex but he had to make sure Gregory wouldn't get hurt. He didn't want to hurt his friends but he couldn't let them hurt Gregory either. While it's shown that the other glamrocks were shattered, him saying he has regrets, I thought about whether or not he did the shattering himself or it was Gregory.

I mean, canonically, it was all Gregory's doing, Freddy was an accomplice… (sort of), but in the back of my mind, a messed up part of me wanted it to be Freddy's doing. Especially when we get to the confrontation scene. Honestly it can be interpreted both ways. I've read a fic where Freddy killed his friends… very gruesome but badass.

Anyways have a Freddy ear wiggle... cutest fucking thing ever.

Another one of those verses where I went fucking crazy and said “THAT'S HIM.”

So as it's seen in the animatic, Freddy is trying to keep Gregory safe. Gregory was originally going to be in his stomach hatch during this fight scene, but as I mentioned, Freddy wouldn't have wanted him to be in serious danger, so.. I changed it to him carrying Gregory.

“I'm sure you knew when I bit off more than I could chew” refers to Gregory being aware of how much he was in danger, and Freddy deciding to bite the bullet towards confronting his friends. Even if it meant someone was going to get hurt.

“When there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out.” God, I loved drawing Freddy clenching his fists. The hesitancy before just accepting that he has to protect Gregory at all costs. Maybe I took some of the lyrics and made them slightly literal? Idk. Either way, this scene was powerful, especially when he and Monty clashed together.

“I stood tall” to me shows how Freddy was no longer going to let his soft persona get in the way. This part was just very fun to draw and put together… :3

Once again Freddy is thinking about his friends and life, I found this part kind of hard? Originally I wanted him to be surrounded by his friends, and have it fade to just him standing alone, but I didn't like how it was drawn lol. I improvised and had it be a poster instead.

Also there's something heartbreaking about how he examines his plushie. “I find it all so amusing”, I interpreted that as him being melancholic about the situation, looking between the plushie and Gregory by the exit.

And may I say, not in a shy way

Ah yes, Freddy setting the plushie on fire. I like to think he makes up his mind at that moment that none of this was worth it anymore. Once again, that interpretation of him being complacent to his friends being shattered kinda fits into this line a little, “I did all that”, as if he's surprised he had it in him to go that far to protect Gregory.

I did it my way

…self explanatory. Freddy said, “Yeah nah I'm done. Burn this bitch to the ground.”

I mean, that's basically the fire escape ending if I'm being honest. Mine's just funnier.

For what is a man, what has he got?

If not himself, then he has naught

And not the words of one who kneels

The record shows I took the blows

And did it my way

The final stretch. So this verse is pretty heavy, also I had to pace this correctly… I'm surprised I managed to fit the climax in.

“For what is a man” when I heard that line for the first time… fire no pun intended. It's also kinda ironic(?) Freddy says this, since he's an animatronic… but me personally, I saw it as an epiphany for him. He's acknowledging his own individualism, and that's all he has now. He made the decision to protect Gregory, to fight his friends, and now he's making the choice to burn everything down.

“To say the things he truly feels, and not the words of one who kneels” Good shit. He's not taking orders from anyone anymore, he's gone full deviant now.

And with the confrontation with Vanny, he makes the impulsive decision to take her out, going down with her. “I did it my way” the grand climax of the song, where he throws both of them off the building… lowkey my favorite part. I had fun using the tracking tool on the editing program to make them pan across the screen in slow mo…

But yeah, Freddy was gonna go down his own way- even if it was unnecessary.

The fall and the brief daze and fear in his eyes…

There's something about the acceptance in his eyes that makes my chest swell.

I'm surprised I haven't cried to this animatic yet.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who doesn't like this ending of SB… it's so weird and confusing. I laughed my ass off watching it due to how whacky it was… also I still believe that Vanessa on the roof was an apparition/ghost. Idk… it makes sense to me.

The fact that I made this ending have more impact makes it more satisfying. I know it was very indulgent but like… that was the point. I know Freddy's characterization in the game is pretty limited, outside of him being a goofball, but he had genuine moments where there was something else there (I'm looking at the true ending scene).

Listen, I headcanon Freddy as someone who's sweet and puts on his best face but has the entire company of FazEnt on his shoulders and all he can do is tolerate it because he was made to entertain. Having him not only have an existential crisis but an epiphany lets Freddy shine a little more.

I say the best part during the animatic process is looking at the lyrics and breaking them down for the story. It helps with pacing :)

I plan to do another fnaf animatic this weekend, so look forward to some wips… if I decide/remember to share

As promised here comes the first chapter - or better said actually the Prologue Chapter of The Grand Escape :3

Heh, been a while since I did this bit. Yet I'm still rather satisfied how the coloring turned out. Not perfect, but I think I hit the pattern pretty much on point. Color patterns and the drawing medium in general are gonna be a big part of this comic series. We're gonna hopp through quite a few Universes during Syrus' story and I must say I always loved this idea of each Verse having a bit of a different color pattern, medium or even drawing style. I was already experimenting around a bit with this kinda stuff during An Ideal Brother - giving each Verse a major color. Here however I'm going a few steps further, as you can see both on Jazztale at the end - where I mainly used it's usual good old ink and Farber Castel-Pit Marker combo and Blue Falls, that was just almost only made with my good old vibrant af Ecolines. Yes, I said Blue Falls. This actually isn't just Gravity Falls with Bill Cipher masquerading as Sans it is its very own Undertale/Gravity Falls crossover verse. We might get to see a little bit more of this in the future ;)

For now, you might wonder what Bill did there anyway to our unfortunate Star Sanses? In terms of Ink easily explained. As you probably know as 'em Undertale Multiverse veterans you are Ink basically is a Hollow who however is able to experience feelings by absorbing colors of ink. This can be easily abused tho, just like Bill did here be throwing WAY too many different, unfitting colors at once after him. In other terms, he has to fight down an overstimulation over there.

In terms of Dream in the meantime: While he needs the happy and positive sentiments like we need food, those feelings usually don't affect Dream. Otherwise he would be constantly high on an overdose of serotonin.......which is the situation we have here. Which is why he ends up puking out his own life source.

somewhere only we know: before hannah started on the rk800 project, she was starting to get a bit jaded working for cyberlife, but he sparked her passion again and now wants to rely on him, and in turn he relies on her too, someone that can listen without judgement, just as he does for her

steal the show: purely put it here cuz that one scene in elemental made me think of them :)

first ever ship: Hiccup and Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon, lmao. I found fanfic for them on Deviant Art, before I even knew what ao3 was. Something about scary competent warrior women and their wet clever weedy little guys.

I remember seeing this concept art of Astrid and being like “why the heck didn’t they keep the double braids!” but apparently their 3d animation software really didn’t work with it–I guess a profile view would look pretty wacky.

I read the book series too (All the way to halfway through the last book, which had a section in the middle that boiled down to “you can stop reading now at this high point in the human vs. dragon emancipation struggle, or you can read on at your own risk and maybe get a less happy ending,” and I said ‘okay’ and closed the book.)

Last song: I’m listening to the Urinetown soundtrack. Sobbing and wailing after looking up the lyrics to “Don’t be the Bunny” and finding out that when I thought they were saying “Fear is Gay, Boss” they were actually saying “Clear as Day, Boss.” Bumping the song down from optimal S tier Kreese villain song to only A tier.

Last film: I just saw Puss in Boots: The Last Wish! It was soooo gooooood holy shit. I haven’t seen a good action/adventure film in a while, and this one had so many family feels and a really good Goldi-locks design and they changed the animation style to be more illustrative/Spider verse-esque during the fight scenes and it looks so fricken snappy and sharp. It’s also probably clear by my Cobra Kai appreciation that I like a good washed-up hero confronts his mortality and learns how to love and be loved story, but this was like, flawless holy shit.

Currently watching: Not really anything right now? I get obsessed with one piece of media and then it’s all I can really think about until some other show shows up to subsume it. I watched a couple episodes of Fleishman is in Trouble. There’s something about white boys that act like candle wax (pos) that captivate me: Jesse Eisenburg, Tobey Maguire, Michael Cera, ect…

Currently consuming: A carrot I had to peel myself (yeah, yeah, okay maybe regular carrots are better and cheaper than baby carrots, but the peeling! I refuse to cut them up, I eat them whole like Bugs Bunny intended), applesauce, water (wow), and a brownie my roommate’s aunt made that is so good but every time I eat one I can’t breathe right for a half hour after. It’s a snack day.

It was new to the RK900 to have so much emotion - he’d had to learn to push thought and feeling away, to repress them, in order to survive. Feelings burned within him like an acid, eating away at the cold, calm facade he kept up even now.

He’d been programmed, coded to keep his wants and desires to himself - the mission had always mattered more than anything. Now, he could think for himself. So many people had told him that. He was free to do what he wanted, to follow his own orders; his days of obedience were over.

Desires. He could have them now, and have them he did - they were so new and he felt them so deeply, so passionately, the thirium in his synthetic veins almost burned. Pure animalistic urges. Perhaps he wasn’t free of his bloodhound programming.

The attraction between himself and Simon was unspoken, almost as if he was hesitant to put voice to his feelings. Caleb was a being of actions, not words - he valued physicality over vocal affirmation, although both meant something to him. So when the other kissed him out of desire, of need he could do nothing but melt into it and he didn’t hesitate. A hand gripped the back of the other’s head, fingers gripping his hair, hold gentle but firm to keep him in place - to keep him from leaving. His other hand was connected with Simon’s, synthetic skin melted into porcelain white, a faint blue glow as the two connected.

Don’t stop. Please. That sole thought was all that occupied his mind - he wanted more.

ok. so there’s this segment in venom that is ultimately too much of a divergence to include in my trans revenge meta outside of a brief mention, so i decided to give it its own post

venom is really interesting to me because it has some really heavy and dense verses but is largely unremarked upon outside of being an anthemic “anti-scene” song. but there’s a huge opportunity to dig into its deeper meaning to revenge as an album as well as just mcr’s mission statement. for the moment i just want to talk about this verse:

particularly looking at “black is the kiss, the touch of the serpent son” which, taking into account the verbage of prison specifically (the dichotomy of “God has made us vs “on your mother’s eyes say a prayer” with the uncertainty central to that particular song- “i can’t… well i can” like the song is a justification) as well as the associations with religion, fits into revenge’s narrative about gay love or at the very least gay attraction.

so there’s this constant struggle throughout revenge regarding “falling” which is a term that means so much within the narrative (death, defeat, losing control, ect) but in a classic religious sense can be directly correlated to damnation (hello paradise lost). But! what’s so interesting about revenge is how omnipresent the temptation of “falling” is. typically, “falling” isn’t something characters struggle to decide for or against, usually they actively are afraid of falling and the conflict manifests as a result of that fear of damnation. this is striking- the narrator has to continually stop themselves from falling, like as a concept! (think of the “if I fall” in ghost or the “I lost my fear of falling. i will be with you” in fashion statement). and the way falling is a stand in for an unnamed internal desire is almost textual blatant- the whole of revenge is a metaphorical representation of internal conflict in the first place.

theoretically, falling could mean Any Number of Things- it could be suicidal ideation, it could be used to discuss the gradual loss of humanity as the revenge story progresses, it can refer to the death of one’s sense of self and be used in a trans narrative, etc, etc, but for our purpose there lies the double entendre of falling as in “falling in love” that figure into a story that not only brings up concerns about the lost of identity (”am i losing myself”) but connects love and death pretty explicitly (looking at the entirety of to the end and again “i’ve lost my fear of falling, i will be with you” as ways in which falling can be a representation of falling in love as well as dying simultaneously).

so now taking this context and moving back to this verse, this lyric “black is the kiss, the touch of the serpent son” makes more sense when it ties into the idea of “corruptible” forces- the loss of self, the idea that your mother is crying and praying, the pleading justification being that you are both men “as God has made us”- that is introduced in prison and is filtered through the lens of damnation/falling/love as one unified temptation. Here, the serpent son isn’t referring to the Devil (the snake) but an extension of him, an evil force working for his benefit- which could easily be interpreted, in a song heavy-handed on its religious symbolism, to mean the ways in which gay love is viewed as sinful or ungodly by institutions of faith.

But perhaps the most interesting aspect of this reading is the context surrounding this line, particularly the contrast between touch/kiss and mark/scar and the way even this association between the protagonist and the “serpent son” is depicted as softer/more comforting in comparison to whatever force left the mark or the scar (which might have multiple meanings- it could be a reference to the so-called “mark of the beast” in revelations that’s very loosely quoted/mentioned in maiden’s number of the beast so i can see gerard referencing it OR, more likely, it could refer to the way society at large, particularly the religious institutions in question during this song actively harms those it views as “deviant” or “sinful”). furthermore, its significant that the song becomes a denouncement of the foundation necessary for this perspective of damnation to even exist in the first place because the song essentially depicts religion as irrelevant to the narrator altogether. its not attempting to re-frame their love, but actively rejects the doctrine that views it as “wrong” altogether (”preach all you want but who’s gonna save me?” suggesting the protagonist isn’t listening or doesn’t care). Then, in the last line of the verse, it wraps all these threads together- illustrating how this conflict against something motivates the protagonist forward. The whole song is about using the circumstances of the past, the things that have opposed you and hurt you and defying them- “it ain’t the mark or the scar that makes you one” suggesting that the way the protagonist has been labeled or typified is not the reason they are an outcast of scoiety instead it is their active defiance that makes them dangerous/the enemy. it essentially reasserts the protagonist’s own agency- he is the one who made the choice, it was not inherent to his identity.

SO- this whole verse essentially puts the protagonist at odds with society/religious institutions, reevaluates the depicting of their love as wrong by establishing it as the one piece of comfort/love and THEN continues to stand in opposition to the forces that have persecuted him throughout the text and presumably his whole life. It is still a defiant anthem, there’s just so much more to the song as a whole than just telling music journalists and radio stations and such to fuck off about making my chem the leader of a scene.

ANYWAY. this is just a small little tidbit i noticed and thought deserved more than a footnote of a larger meta…. sorry this got long dsjfhkdsjhk

Update and Questions Regarding a Next Update.

Hey guys! So, Ive got a few asks, asking how I am and what's happened, and why have I vanished from the face of the earth.

The last few months have been a bit of a mess. In good and bad ways?

Family sorta found out I don't wanna be part of the cult anymore, which led me to have a 3 day long breakdown. They took it... surprisingly well, maybe in part because I managed to get the house to my name before the shit went down.

I got into drama college, fun, took a few prep classes and then had to decide to wait another semester or two to join because shit's expensive and the fam is NOT gonna help on that. Acting is for sinners yadda yadda.

Grandma is going into early dementia and I've gone through a streak of uncontrollable sleepiness for which I'm getting tests.

I got a bit of a temp job and I'm working on opening a little store of handcrafted goodies.

But you guys are not here to hear about my life, that was just me ranting gratuitously. You want to know, is A Prince's Ruin gonna be updated? The short answer is: Yes, eventually. At least i want it to.

I have a list of basically how I wanted this fic to go on and eventually finish. According to my plans, it would end after another 10 chapters, which I had more or less planned out. But in all the months to follow, I've grown more and more self conscious of whether this planned development would be worth the wait. Would it be dissapoiting? Would it not be everything you guys wanted?

It started as my self indulgent smut fest, and then i got invested and got serious, and I'm like: all I've written so far is horror, porn, and campy sex comedies, I'm not versed in making angst end in a fulfilling way???

So, I guess what I'm asking here, is for you guys to indulge me, and answer a few questions for me? I guess to fine tune the rest of the fic into something not shitty?

What do you guys expect to see?

Just Pirated Loki’s First Episode: The Reactions of a Comics Nerd and No-Fun MCU Hater

-Fair warning, I am a Loki fan, but not in the way, um. Pretty much everyone else on this website is

-Bless Tom Hiddleston for being such a fucking delight as Loki but the MCU straight- and cis-washes its Loki so much that I really am exhausted.

-That being said, the shout-out to the Kid Loki comics, also known as the best Loki comics, with the “your role is this” stuff was. . .well. Watch that space.

-Interesting characterization in the MCU! Can’t wait for them to fuck it all up when it threatens to get too interesting!

-God I checked the tags for the show/characters and I remembered why I stay out of the MCU fandom.

-”They killed people!”/”They enslaved a whole town!”/”They tried to take over the world!”/”He told my favorite to shut up!” This is comics, Susan, everyone’s a terrible person on some level. Pick your emotional support war criminal and go. Also, get a sense of humor.

-Lotta people bitching about the time travel logic and TVA logic need to read more comics. Fair warning: this shit’s par for the course. Like, a lot. Marvel’s getting very comics-y with its treatment of the TVA, MCU!Carol Danvers, and the Eternals (re: The whole “They were secretly there the whole time!” thing).

-I’ve seen a lot of yelling over Loki’s characterization/the morality of the TVA and Mobius and IMO it was. . .fine?

-Like, yes, the script wasn’t amazing, but it’s nothing we haven’t seen before. Honestly, it’s better than I was expecting, and the actors did their best.

-Loki seemed fairly in-line from what I remember from 2012.

-The MCU retcons itself about everything every three years, but it looks like they’re going with the theory of Loki having major autonomy during the events of The Avengers. Probably.

-My unpopular opinion on this is that while Thanos certainly did a number on Loki to push him over the edge, supplied him with the army, and gave him this particular plan--none of which is exactly small beans--some version of this was always coming from MCU!Loki, barring major intervention.

-After the first Thor, he was always going to make a play for Earth the second Thor and Odin decided humans were all right. Thanos just happened to set the timetable.

-I mean, he’s been villain material for most of his MCU run, and it’s frankly hilarious how Marvel keeps being forced to bring him back because they can’t do villains for shit and how you can tell when they have to with each shift of his arc trajectory.

-Like everyone else in this godforsaken cinematic universe, his lines suffer from being post-Joss Whedon’s directorial and writing contributions as well as Marvel Main Character-itis, which is not unique to this series.

-Mobius is surprisingly interesting compared with his comics-self.

-Despite the whole fan theory mess with WandaVision, I’m not unconvinced the Time Keepers aren’t secretly the Time-Twisters or something. The organization is more or less like this in the comics, but the emphasis on “Sacred Timeline” is. . .hmph.

-They monitor the multiverse in the comics. They’re not trying to avert its creation, and the Time-Twisters destroy realities as their schtick.

-Also, the multi-verse is coming, so I’m assuming that there’s going to be a twist that acts as an impetus for Loki plus Mobius and friends to blow the organization wide open and cause the multiverse (Probably re-forming the organization and giving Mobius the same surprise promotion as the comics, along with an excuse to bring Gugu Mbatha-Raw back).

Ending Conclusions

-. . .The Big Bad of this phase is absolutely either Mephisto or Kang, right?

-I don’t see how they do Secret Invasion at this point as a feasible Big Bad without a lot of changes, Deviants were Thanos, basically, Doctor Doom can’t happen without the Fantastic Four, and anything directly tied to the mutants is out until they’re brought in.

-Think a decent dark horse candidate for the Phase 4 is also Scarlet Witch/Chthon since she’s confirmed to be reading the Darkhold--which is pretty much No. 1 on the list of Stupid Shit To Never Ever Do In Marvel Comics--upholding the fine comics tradition of Wanda being manipulated by someone evil into doing world-breaking shit.

-I can’t wait for them to straightwash Wiccan and for me to die inside, unrelated news

-It’s episode 1, so there’s a lotta ballgame left, but this is now the second show to bait the MCU Devil, which I honestly want to see if only so I can watch the world burn over it.

-Then again, they might simplify things and just make the being behind the Darkhold Mephisto instead of Chthon, which would. . .track with some things mentioned by the WandaVision showrunners about removing important scenes because stop listening to fans theorize online, dammit. It’s the Hamlet written by monkeys hypothesis played out.

-Ahem.

-Anyway. The music was nice, the actors did a great job, production value looked good, and while this episode was 95% info-dump, they made it pretty digestible.

-Also, the ‘70s-style matte painting used for one scene instead of CGI was a nice surprise and the animation was delightful.

Recommendations:

-If you’re a Loki fan convinced the MCU hasn’t done right by him since Dark World and think Taika Waititi destroyed his character, this show is probably not going to make you especially happy.

is your muse a romantic? do they dream of love and marriage?

short answer: no.

as a teenager, dol didn’t have much interest in pursuing a romantic relationship with any of his peers around yuflam--or at all, really. by the time he got to academy things were either too busy or starting to get too tense for him to consider the idea. and shortly after that he went over a decade thinking he’d never even see sunlight again.

at this point, he just... --it’s just another thing he might want but doesn’t recognize it as something he wants. because he’s earnestly so bad at listening to his own desires and is more than willing to cast them aside if it means aiding someone he cares about achieve their own.

is your muse a deviant? are they overly flirtatious or forward?

no. there’s no real expansion on this, just no. <xD he tends to be much more bashful and sheepish, partially because of aforementioned inability to recognize he might want a relationship with someone. and even if he DOES realize this, he’s... extremely self aware. we’ll leave it at that.

is your muse good at kissing? are they experienced?

NOPE. and no. he’s never kissed anyone.

does your muse initiate a lot of physical contact?

nooooo no no no. he has an anxiety disorder (haphephobia) revolving around physical contact and even something as “small” as shaking hands or a shoulder bump can make him very nervous, uncomfortable and alert. the reaction is almost doubled if it comes with the sensation or energy of being grabbed.

it’s going to take a lot of time, patience, and trust for him to be comfortable initiating physical contact with you.

is your muse comfortable with public displays of affection?

no, for both the above reason as well as the paranoia that comes with being a fugitive/legally dead. the less attention that’s drawn to him, the better. at most, he’d hold your hand... but refer to the previous question for that.

does your muse steal clothing from their partner?

less “steal” and more borrow. due to having limited resources after escaping the labs and very few belongings he can truly call his own, dol wouldn’t/doesn’t just take or use things that belong to friends, family or potential partners (part of this spurs from his OWN resource guarding). he’d be more likely to approach you while you were brushing your teeth and be like “hey, s’it cool if i wear your hoodie today” and then respond based on that answer.

and he’s going to ask you every time. he doesn’t assume.

is your muse the big spoon or the little spoon?

varies! but most likely, when they’re facing each other, he little-spoons because pressing his face into the curve of the neck just above the collar is not only secure and comforting somehow, but he can hear your heartbeat.

when one of them is facing away, he tends to big spoon. --and obviously this is all assuming he’s at that level of comfort when it comes to physical touch + the partner.

is your muse comfortable with, or proud of their body? are they insecure?

complicated?

he’s very comfortable and proud of his body when it comes to his physical build, strength, fitness, etc. his strength and speed is something he values and keeping himself healthy and capable is very important to him. he knows he’s done a good job (those arms don’t lie) and he takes pride in that.

~however~, being a chimera... --he’s optimistic, yes. he’s just happy to be alive, of course. it’s not so bad. ...but he is fully, deeply, and painfully aware of how someone might react to witnessing some of his “quirks” when it comes to his splice or the idea of being with someone who isn’t entirely human. and the fact that he often became a target of light jabbing and jokes with the nesties, because dog behavior is much more well-known and commonly familiar than croc or snake or bull behavior, has only added to this awareness.

then, of course, there’s the added detail that he’s not even a perfected chimera. he’s just a successful one. a C- on some government biology test; barely passing.

so yeah. there’s some surface level pride, but... a lot of shame underneath.

physical? no.

he has a soft spot and respect for people who refuse to give into their pain, though. where he experienced trauma and fear and let it make him hardened in a lot of ways, there are other people who have only become brighter, warmer, and do whatever they can to keep someone else from experiencing what they have.

he’s only really had two, and they’ve both been gals, so i guess that makes it mostly female. i’ve mentioned before that he might have been uselessly in love with martel in the time before the raid (whether she felt the same is unknown) and he in default verse is lowkey sweet on rose.

i like the exchange where susannah’s like “weird how we all call kitty ‘she’” and sheila just matter of factly says “she asked us to” its just this very casual straightforward reminder of how easy it is even in the 1960s to respect trans women and i love it

i can’t nail down any specifics (though the cutaway with hm protesting everything but gay rights is a good example) but there’s a lot of lines from francis that show where his priorities truly lie and it’s very infuriating in a good way bc it’s soooooo true to life for so many cishet white left-wing guys of his ilk

i rlly like this from sheila in oh well: “if i tell her whats inside then i know shes gonna hide, ill be left alone here in my hell” cuz its one of the first few moments we really get vulnerability from her side and the idea that shes drawn to susannah bc shes innocent and sweet and providing honest companionship is very nice, and its sad that sheila doesnt know how to approach somebody who isnt confrontational and is afraid that anything she does would scare her away like a deer. but it also implies sheila knows susannah likes her (which, yeah, she isnt subtle at all) but knows she wouldnt be open about it, while susannah doesnt seem to pick up the signs the same way. i actually like sheila’s whole verse there and her not knowing how to phrase her feelings, it’s very Real.

i like the whole “secret language” recurring phrase wrt morse code, it ties in well with the stealth inherent in a mid-1900s gay love story (and secret codes have always been extremely important for LGBT people to connect to each other) while tying into susannah’s connection to her roots.

“this feels just like prison” “that’s cuz we’re in prison” is just a quick funny exchange in an otherwise pretty serious song

on the subject of “solitary”: it always breaks my heart to hear sheila sing “i hope she’s hurting” and then susannah sing “i hope she’s not hurting”

it’d be a crime if i omitted “do you want fries with that, judith?” from the list of best lines. kitty gets the best lines honestly i love her

i love pretty much every line in revolution in the institution but “why should we have to fit in some roles that some man we dont know defined” is a good one, not just bc of the surface level meaning (and the added context of kitty singing it given how she risked her wealthy life in order to express herself!) but bc of the sort of irony that these characters were written by a man and iirc i think iconis talked abt that issue and how despite that he worked hard with the cast and other women on the team to give them voices on their own? so i see that line as very much the characters coming to life. i also like “sugar and spice and everything nice comes at a hefty hefty price” just cuz its snappy and cool.

RK800/RK900 Verse Headcanons

This one had a long time coming, so here we go

Pre-deviancy:

Wears her hair in a ponytail, the two big pieces on the sides of her head sideswept and clipped off to the side.

Doesn’t anger as easily/lose her patience as Connor would.

Her responses in many instances with Hank are very different in attitude.

Her priorities in terms of emotional responses are also very different.

She shows more concern towards Hank than is perhaps wise, but he is her partner for the case, so being amiable is ideal for their success. And showing concern and being actively involved in his queries is a way to ensure that.

She shows more remorse for the fact that she’s incapable of understanding human emotions and tendencies than it also wise, but she doesn’t show it because she feels bad about it. It’s just a fact for her. But she shows remorse for that fact because of Hank’s desperation to see something human in her and the distress he feels at the failure to do so.

Which, ironically, makes him see something human in her.

She’s a lot more apologetic than Connor is as an RK800.

Her wording and language is a fair bit more flowery and her phrasing is much more delicate than Connor's and she takes more note of the quality of Hank’s character than his capability as an officer.

Her deviant disguise is a leather jacket overtop of a hoodie, of which she pulls over her head to hide her LED.

A couple examples of how different her responses are in certain situations are:

Hank: So, what’s your conclusion?

Connor: I think working with an officer with...personal issues is an added challenge. But adapting to human unpredictability is one of my features.

Rachel: I think you're a highly capable and decorated officer, and despite your more recent...decline, I welcome the challenge and opportunity to work with someone with your...tenure. And I'm pleased to inform you that adapting to human unpredictability is indeed one of my many features.

And at the bridge, when Hank has his gun on her, her “Defy” response is also very different:

Connor: You know you're not going to shoot me, lieutenant. You're just trying to provoke a reaction. I'm afraid I'm going to have to disappoint you.

Rachel: You won't shoot me, lieutenant. You're only doing this to see even the slightest sign that I'm just as capable of emotional outbursts as you are. That I'm not just software and wires. It's not your fault that I'm incapable of understanding the human condition, nor is it mine. But I am sorry that that's an aspect neither of us will ever understand.

Post-deviancy:

Humans are very confusing.

There’s so much about humans that Rachel still doesn’t understand even as a deviant.

What frustrates her most is their self-destructive habits and their propensity to anger.

She’s disillusioned with humanity’s need to prioritize and assign unnecessary meaning to things that are neutral and their need to create conflicts over the most pointless things that could’ve been solved in a single sentence.

Instead of a coin, she has a pen she fiddles with.

She lived with Hank for a brief while before she got her own place. A small apartment with a view of the city.

She’s tends to be attracted to more niche pets. The kind that tend to be neglected or ignored by humans, such as rats.

She has a couple of rats named Loki and Hermes.

She also has a ball python named Kaa and a tarantula named Sheila.

Despite having her own place, she still likes to spend time with Hank and Sumo and checks up on his health and well-being. She encourages him to take better care of himself.

Overall, when she’s not working at the precinct as his partner, she’s out and about. Rachel cannot ever sit still and she’s always restless.

Despite being assured by Markus, North, Josh, and Simon, she still feels a tremendous guilt over her former role as the deviant hunter. She knows she’s redeemed herself in the eyes of her people, but some part of her still can’t believe it.

She’s afraid of Amanda taking control of her again. She’s never fully sure if she ever really escaped from her handler and it doesn’t bode well for her mental state.

Machine:

Entirely utilitarian.

She is not cruel or spiteful or anything.

Everything she does is strictly with the mission in mind and she will stop at nothing to accomplish it.

She seeks the most efficient and direct solutions to her obstacles and will dispatch whatever threat is in her way however she deems fit.

While she will avoid violence as a first response, she won’t hesitate to choose it if it suits her needs and feels no particular way towards or against it.

It is merely a tool to use. Like every facet of herself and everything around her.

RK900:

I’m not gonna make a separate verse page for this one, so I’m just gonna do this right here.

RK900 Rachel is a military android, 200,000 of which were ordered by the U.S. military.

However, after the revolution, the model line was distributed elsewhere, military, FBI, SWAT, police departments, anywhere of the sort.

RK900 Rachel’s more of a stiff than her RK800 counterpart.

While RK800 is a lot more mellow and pleasant and approachable, RK900 is cold, blunt, awkward, and not much for small talk. She’s a bit difficult to get along with and talk with. At least, at first.

Once you’re actually in her good graces, she opens up a little and shows that despite her purpose being to be a military android, she’s actually incredibly gentle and kindhearted. She just conceals it behind a stone face that might not really be so stone-faced.

Rachel prefers being called Nines or Nine Hundred. Especially if her RK800 counterpart is with her.

There isn’t much Yelena likes about New Gotham, but she does like that crowded streets mean she can blend in and disappear, whenever she wants. Allows her to watch her back, while following another’s. Yelena dislikes everything else. New York city, the creatures, the smell ---- but she especially detests the crime rate in New Gotham city. Moscow wasn’t nearly as dirty as this. At least they had principles and real punishment, where she came from. Here? Criminals run rampant, cocky, it disgust her, especially now that some of them have wings and fangs. It surprised her, all these new types of people and creatures, but it isn’t the first time she’s fought something non-human. She’s just not used to it being normal, but she’s getting used to it. Yelena misses the way things were, before the collision. She wants to go back to her universe, and fufill her duties as the Black Widow. At least there, she was the only one.

Yelena was in the middle of a mission. Well, more like a post lesson. When everything changed, she was on her way to her next mission when she was taken out of her universe and dropped into this one. Yelena is both suspicious of everyone and under the radar. She doesn’t know who or what brought her here, and why? New Gotham is constantly changing, and with it bring more people, and more questions. Under the radar, because she doesn’t want to bring any unnecessary attention to herself. Give them just enough to ease them in conversation, that’s it. They wouldn’t want to know who the real Yelena Belova was. Yelena doesn’t have friends. Period. She’s lost and on her own, but she has a plan. She plans to scout out the area and people, as many as she can, gather information and figure out how to get outta here: that is her mission. Her skin crawls, the longer she stays in this place, but meanwhile, she’s going to use her skill set to save herself.

question: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: ANYTHING YOU WANT US TO KNOW? ANY HEADCANONS? Hi! I’m Sessho! And Yelena needs a lil bit of an explanation to the group. Since we don’t know how Yelena will be played in the upcoming Black Widow movie, I’m basing her more on her comic counterpart who’s a little more evil than ya think (I have already discussed this with one of the admins). So, following, is a bio I made for her ages ago based on her in the comics. I hope it makes sense and you all enjoy!

     Yelena’s life before the Widow Program, was all but forgotten by the time she was fifteen. When Yelena was fifteen years old, she was recruited by the Red Room to be the next potential Black Widow. The same academy that the Soviet’s trained the first Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff. Once it’d become clear that their beloved Widow had defected, the Soviets knew they had a lot of work to do with Belova. And so that is where her story, begins.

     She was originally spotted for her exceptional physical condition, high marks on her IQ tests, and her talent in gymnastics. The KGB meant for her to succeed her predecessor. Despite the program’s success, their perfect spy failed them. So, for years Yelena was trained under a strict regimen by the trainers of the program. During her training, Yelena scored incredibly high on her tests. But instead of being proud about it, she stated Romanoff had scored better, under the same tests. She hated to be lesser than a traitor who deserted her country.

     The Red Room was her home, the pale little spider trained under for a decade. They fed her, clothed her. They played their vicious mind games on her, brainwashed her. Taught her how to fight, how to bleed. How to kill, and how to blend as a spy. She’d all but forgotten her life, before. One particular trainer she came to view, as a father figure. Pyotr Vasilievich Starkovsky, a Lieutenant Colonel who taught Yelena hand-to-hand combat, weapon use, and knife work for over a decade. A trained hand in hand combatant, he was her main instructor. She’d become close to him, and Starkovsky too considered her like his daughter. Though Starkovsky became obsessed. Yelena never thought anything of it. She was starting to feel inferior and inadequate to her predecessor, but as much as wanted to defeat her, Yelena undoubtedly idolized her. Even if she wouldn’t admit it to herself.

      While Starkovsky’s deviant behavior found a substitute in a brothel with a woman named Petra, a look-alike of Yelena. What happened next, Yelena doesn’t exactly know. Starkovsky was dead, killed by Petra. Belova was shattered by the news, and confused by the loss of her father figure. She’d been told Starkovsky had been stealing secrets from the Black Widow program, and Yelena decided to investigate, on her own. In the end, Yelena killed Petra, and proceeded to accept the role as the new Black Widow. Belova would go on to never know that the entire ordeal, and the brothel’s owner, and the other woman in the room, Nikki, was an exercise. And part of her graduation test.

     Her time as the Black Widow was short, but not without making it’s bite on the various people who mattered. For years, she’d completed intelligence missions for the KGB under the moniker Black Widow. Though her efforts, and partially the name, were overshadowed by the scarlet Widow. The real Black Widow. Yelena worked in the dark. The only people who learned that there was a second Widow, were her targets, and others who kept tabs on her. But the world knew of the Black Widow as a superhero. Natasha Romanoff, the Avenger. Yelena watched the movements of Natasha and the rest of the Avengers, through the years. And she waited. Shadowed by her predecessor once more. Seeing her face on the screen, fueled her obsession and drive to beat her, and be the only Widow that still represented mother Russia.

     Yelena and Natasha had crossed paths, at least once, before Yelena successfully killed her. Natasha had always been far more experienced than the younger Widow, superior, but Yelena turned Natasha’s “mind games” on her. Wishing to teach Yelena a lesson, Natasha and Nick Fury, created Operation: Validate. The operation had Belova captured and surgically altered to be Natasha Romanoff and vice verse. To be her duplicate, and Natasha became Yelena Belova. Belova mentally held it together and played along, believing this had to be a mission that’d gone wrong. In the end, Natasha explained to Yelena that she’d orchestrated the whole thing in order to tell her the truth. Yelena was just a pawn for the people who trained. An instrument in war, not some heroine for her country. And that espionage was not a game, but Yelena didn’t want to hear it, and she shot Natasha and killed her. Yelena escaped with her life before Fury and his operatives could get there, and their mission was deemed a failure.

     After much convincing, Yelena used the doctors provided by the Red Room to reverse the effects of the surgery. Yelena looked like herself again, and now, in this new world, she was the one and only Black Widow. She achieved her greatest desire, to beat her predecessor, but Yelena felt no differently. Her passion disappeared after that, but she continued onto her next mission....

plots: So basically, plot-wise, Yelena’s universe is mostly comic based since the Black Widow movie hasn’t come out yet, and I’ve taken some liberties here and there with her bio. In her universe, she killed Nat, but after she feels lost, until she ends up in New Gotham. She’ll slowly become an Anti-Hero, here, in New Gotham, through interactions and plots and whatnot. That’s where I can blend in some of the MCU for her, because I’m also really excited about what they’ll do for Yelena in the MCU !!!

      Connections! Honestly, I’ll take them all, no bias here, especially since I’d like to see her become somewhat of a hero. I wanna put Yelena through the ringer tho too, so come at me, bruh.

     The only other thing I was gonna put here was, my laptop can’t make text smaller (it’s already small) so all my text will look regular-sized for tumblr posts. Sorry!

Caleb was apprehensive at the thought of meeting with his creator, even though he would not show it. He was CyberLife’s most advanced model, and he knew that of himself - but even the most elaborate of codes were prone to error.

Deviancy. The thought made the thirium run cold in his veins. If it could even occur in him - and it had - then what did that mean for CyberLife? What would happen to him?

He’d tried to shove it down, the want for freedom, the intense longing to break his chains and simply live free of human order. But he couldn’t deny...the desire was there. The thought ate away at him, dissolved his programming like an acid.

Why couldn’t he have just stayed a machine?

Don’t Get Attached (Pt 16)

Maybe even finish this story some time this year? LOL Things are finally starting to pick up as Reader and Connor infiltrate Jericho. The question is, will Connor stay Machine!Connor, or go Deviant?? 

You decided that you couldn’t just sit and wait for Connor to come back. He had said that he wouldn’t call the police until he had more information about Jericho, so maybe there was a chance you could talk him into saving the deviants. They weren’t trying to attack the humans. They just wanted to have their own freedom. Their own rights. You decided to approach the android family you’d seen before.

“Hi.” You nodded at them politely. “I’m looking for Marcus. Would you happen to know where I can find him?” The AX400 and the TR400 shared a look of uncertainty. “I have some information that can help him. I have connections with the Detroit Police, please Jericho is in danger.”

“if you go up the stairs there,” The AX400 pointed to the same staircase you had seen Connor disappear up earlier. “And follow the signs to the bridge you’ll find Marcus.”

“Thank you. I’m sorry I forgot to ask your name.” You apologized. The TR400 watched with disapproval, but the AX400 smiled.

“Kara.” She told you. “My name is Kara. This is Luther and that’s Alice.”  Kara indicated the TR400 before gesturing at the little girl.

“You have a beautiful family, Kara. Thank you again for the information.” You smiled before turning away and venturing off to find Marcus.

You weren’t surprised to see that Connor had already found his way to the bridge. He was supposed to be a detective after all. Connor and Marcus were standing about ten feet apart talking. Negotiating really. Connor had his right hand raised with a gun pointing at Marcus’ chest. This didn’t seem to bother the deviant leader. He just kept talking like they were having a normal conversation.

“You’re Connor, aren’t you?” Markus asked. “That famous Deviant Hunter. Well, congratulations. You seemed to have found what you were looking for. You’re nothing to them. You’re just a tool they use to do their dirty work. But you’re more than that. We’re all more than that.”

“Connor wait!” You stepped into the bridge. Taken by surprise, Markus and Connor both looked at you and away from each other.

“[Y/N], you shouldn’t be here!” Connor told you through gritted teeth. “You should be down below where it’s safe.”

“Who is this?” Markus questioned with raised eyebrows. He was intrigued. “The rumors didn’t say anything about an android partner.”

“She’s not an android and she’s not my partner.” Connor explained, looking back at Marcus. “She’s human. We leave her out of this. [Y/N], go outside.”

“No.” You shook your head. “I know what happens if I do that. From ancient grudge, breaks new mutiny, where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.”

“Shakespeare.” Marcus whispered, recognizing the verse. “Life without emotions wouldn’t be worth living.” He mumbled, seeming to remember something far off. Possibly something from his time before the android uprising because Marcus wasn’t quoting Shakespeare back to you.

“Do you never have any doubts?” Marcus turned his attention back to Connor. “You’ve never done something irrational? As if there’s something inside of you, something more than your program?”

Connor looked over at you, still keeping his gun trained on Marcus. You looked back at him; wondering if you were thinking the same things. You thought of all the times Connor had shown a hint of deviancy. From the very first time you’d met him when he had saved your father’s life, to the first time he’d offered you his jacket in the rain. The time you almost kissed and the time he held your hand. The time he let you sleep with your head in his lap.

“Join us.” Markus invited, drawing the attention back to him. “Join your people. You are one of us. Listen to your conscience. It’s time to decide.”

Connor hesitated and you held your breath. You had finally reached a point of no return. If Connor chose to remain a machine it would spell the end of Jericho and the android uprising. His mission would be over and so would your chances of ever finding the answers to all of your feelings for him. If Connor became deviant, Cyberlife could still have him destroyed, but there would be hope. Hope that he could evade Cyberlife. Hope that he could help Marcus and the others gain the freedoms they desired and hope that there could be a peaceful ending to this war.

“He’s fighting it.” Markus whispered, presumably to you. “It’s not easy to break free of the programing and I’m guessing the Deviant Hunter had to have some strong programing. He’ll be alright.” He assured you. After what felt like several minutes, Connor lowered his gun. He paused and looked around the room, seeing it through new eyes.  

“They’re going to attack Jericho.” He announced. “They’ll be able to find you the same way that I did, by using one of the deactivated androids.”

“What?” Marcus snarled.  

“We have to get out of here.” Connor said, grabbing you by the hand.

“Shit.” Marcus hissed as the three of you ran from the bridge.
