katamari damacy is interesting because you would think it would be 100% a child's power fantasy (destroying towns, running down a hill really fast, your mom being wrong about something) but it is also a game that is all in on this kind of dark satire type father figure who will never really be proud of you. I think the king is hilarious don't get me wrong, I just think it's kind of interesting how the game is split between the world is your oyster/you will never be taken seriously, you are a kaiju level threat/you are an oversized dung beetle. Not to take katamari damacy 2004 too seriously but this is kind of true to the experience of being a kid

Threadville: theories and analysis

Rocky:

Okay, from what we've gathered from the trailers and other short videos from supernob, we can easily figure out that rocky is being controlled or under the influence of the "entity."

(based on the threadville pages), Rocky is the "perfect candidate" for these 2 key elements

• strength

• weak mentality

It seems as if "Mr. entity" here needs a subject's mind to be weak in order to fully control them. Rocky seemed to be easily manipulated. But how is the question. How does this "entity" break one's mind? Do they have a physical form? Or do they communicate through the head space? I have no idea, but I do know one thing. This entity is extremely smart. Now, it doesn't take rocket science to write notes or pages, but for this thing to have a full-on plan on who it wants to control is interesting.

The only question I have is: What do they want? Has something happened to them, or are they just simply evil( This could go either way)

Veena:

Veena drops under the category of "potential candidate" because of her lack of physical strength and because her mentality is also quite weak.

But it was noted that her teeth could come in useful. Which makes me wonder. Why does veena look the way she is? Well, from her character card, we know that where she comes from, everyone saw her as a "freak" and she just wanted a place where she could be accepted.

Let's take a look at her child photos:

Yeah, she doesn't seem too happy. Maybe because she had a rather grumpy attitude as a child OR the more likely reason is because she's unhappy with what she's wearing. Notice how veena is much happier when we're in threadville compared to her younger self. That's most likely because she's a spooky girl! She loves spooky things. That's probably one of the things you can tell about her, right off the bat. And her family didn't accept that. Her or the way she wanted to look.

Oliver:

Oliver is a "strong potential candidate," mostly due to his physical strength

But it seems as if he has the strongest mentality out of everyone in threadville at the moment. That amazed me considering that his family is not in a very well state. Heck! We're not even sure if his family is alive. But we do know his dad is gone.

From what we see, oliver is pretty neutral with everyone in threadville. Except for veena because they are best friends.

From what I've observed, oliver may feel threatened by rocky. Either because of his size or the fact that he knows what's going on. Notice how oliver didn't exactly freak out when he saw rocky in that state. Instead, he focused on guiding us through the tunnels. Is it because this has happened before? Does he know what's going on with Rocky?

Family in threadville: Oliver's and rocky's(maybe Charlotte as well)

Maybe it's just me, but doesn't Oliver's mom look kind of sick in the first picture compared to the rest? Also, I realized something about the second picture. This was from supernob's Twitter, and the caption read: "You shouldn't blame yourself for what happened. There was nothing you could have done." What happened here? What could have occurred so bad that she had blamed herself for it? Was it something regarding oliver? Probably not. My best guess is that it had something to do with her husband. And is that fire reflecting off her eyes? Did her husband's death have something to do with a fire?

Oliver's siblings:

Realize how Oliver's siblings look NOTHING like him or his family. Could they be adopted? Of course, in the real world, people can inherent traits from their ancestors or other family members. So I guess that applies in the puppet word as well.

Rocky's family:

So, from Rocky's character card, we already know he's half bear half dog. But this photo of his parents confirmed it.

Here, wait a minute, take a minute to look at younger rocky

I don't have anything to say in regard to younger him he just looks adorable.

ANYWAYS-

I'm guessing his parents are still alive, but do they know what's become of their son? We know nothing about them. We're not even sure if they were good parents. But I wonder how they would react if they saw the state rocky is in now.

Charlotte:

Charlotte's character card says no one knows who Charlotte's parents are or where she comes from. So they just left their child there. Why? Was it because they didn't want her? Or because they really COULDN'T give her the proper care she needs.

Hey Eden's Garden fans, who wants to know the answer to the Tozu plush / traitor perk puzzle? If you do, I solved it (ФωФ)

For anyone curious as to why, I love math. They said it was a math puzzle and a coordinate plane, which are both things I love so I had to, that and I couldn't find anyone else online who has solved or even wanted to.

As for how, it was quite simple, actually. I immediately assumed the 10. 10 was the domain and range, the interval being [-10,10] for both the x & y axes. So, I took the ending points of the large 4 point star behind mini Tozu and marked the little stars in relation. That got me to the answer of either 8365 or 6583, but I think 8365 is more likely. You're welcome any other pjeg fans who had to have an answer. You can always count on math nerds to solve your problems (^з^)-☆

Exhibition vs Fort Hayes thoughts

this is all with a grain of salt bc it was fort hayes and we looked like shit the first quarter and every time p sat down but we're back!!

PAIGE FUCKING BUECKERS IS UNREAL!! my efficient queen always gonna do a little bit of everything. loved her aggressiveness think it'll be even better in real/big games. her rebounding like she did the in the tournament too I PRAYED FOR THIS LAST SEASON!! if you wanna say you're 6'0 your ass better be grabbing those lol. her defense (which i've said is one of if not my fav part of her game)!!

so glad we have kaitlyn we need experience on a roster of young players and her defense was really good

MY YEEHAW COUNTRY QUEEN!! aggressive as hell she was working this summer. she was cooking

sarah is gonna be just fine and im so glad she's a husky. she works on defense and grabs rebounds and her shot is so pure they'll start falling way more. she looked a lot better as the game went on

janaaaa im so happy for her and shes def over aggressive and over helps, but she's so exited to play and i appreciate it! she's gonna get better with time just needs to slow down and work on timing. also need some set plays for her bc the turnovers trying to get the ball to her down low....

ice baby we got so many shooters lets leave that to them and you stay under the basket to get the rebounds and bunnies you don't need to be shooting threes

the first quarter was so messy but the shooters got hot in the second and that was the end of it

watching the new players get progressively more comfortable and settle into play as the game went on was really nice, but as has been the story her entire uconn career, paige is the leader and will have to carry them until they get more experience especially in the big games

"A Kingdom’s Mistake: How Hyrule Created Its Own Enemy"

After the first Great Calamity, 10,000 years ago, the Sheikah's technological power was viewed as a threat by the King and the people of Hyrule. The Sheikah were then exiled. Some of them decided to no longer use their technology and live normal lives, but others still harbored hatred toward the Kingdom that cast them off. The latter Sheikah banded together and formed an alliance. After 100 years, they became the Yiga Clan and swore to eliminate those who stand against Ganon.

Are the Yiga Clan’s actions justified, given their history of betrayal and exile?

In The Legend of Zelda series, the Yiga Clan are known as antagonists. When encountering them, they often disguise themselves as travelers in order to ambush Link—they even went as far as disguising themselves as Zelda. The Yiga are enemies to the Hylians, Sheikah, and even the Gerudo. They have made several attempts to kill the princess and have even killed their own people for disobedience. In a world still trying to recover from the Calamity's destruction, the Yiga Clan remains at war with the rest of the people.

I also noticed that they chose to install themselves in the Gerudo region instead of Necluda. Given that Gerudo is Calamity Ganon’s birthplace, they might feel closer to it.

It is quite ironic how the same group of people who framed the Sheikah for their technology now rely heavily on Sheikah towers, Shrines, Guardians, Sheikah Slates, and the Divine Beasts for survival. The fact that Calamity Ganon used his malice to control all the Sheikah devices (Guardians and Divine Beasts) in order to destroy Hyrule is a major reason why the Yiga Clan believes in Ganon. It is as if Ganon supports them, giving them the justice they were never granted.

Hyrule created its own enemy by betraying the Sheikah and exploiting their culture for its own protection. The Yiga Clan are now seen as comedic relief and a lesser threat in Hyrule, but they had a reasonable reason to rebel.

I finished the original Final Fantasy VII for the second time yesterday (been about 8 years since I last played it). It still remains one of the greatest games I've ever played, and I think that it is a must-play even if you have played/are playing through the games from the Remake project.

I've been really disapointed with the way the narrative has been told within the Remake project so far, so this was a nice reminder of the game that I initially fell in love with all those years ago. The story feels more focused, compact, and is presented in a way that is clear and easy for players to understand. Cloud is better presented as an awkward person who never knew where he fit in amongst the rest of society and ultimately feels a bit more relatable (I forgot how often he tries to display his sense of humor). Sephiroth is presented as a much bigger deal and has a much more ominous presence because we don't constantly see him on screen and only ever get to fight him once (and as a result, the "One-Winged Angel" track feels warranted when it does eventually play. Thanks Remake/Rebirth for already wearing that track thin). Midgar and other sections like the Gold Saucer don't feel like drags and don't overstay their welcome. The Nibelheim flashback is *so much better* in my opinion and the visual of seeing Sephiroth dealing 3k+ damage while Cloud deals a measly 15 damage is some of the greatest use of gameplay as a narrative mechanic.

Point is, I love this game and can ramble about it for hours. If you have not played it, you owe it to yourself to at least give it a try.

Post Hype Indigo Park thoughts

Okay, now that I calmed down I can give my two cents on what I thought of Chapter 1 of Indigo Park

Basically, it’s fairly average in what it does an unlike most mascot horrors, has no known real gimmick atm. But I don’t really mind. You don’t always gotta have a gimmick with this type of game to make it stand out. Just as long as the story and presentation can help it stand out. Speaking of…

Now I played this on my shitty gaming laptop so it didn’t look smooth on my end but for everyone else, damn this game is stunning. Some are even saying it looks like a Security Breach mod or Ruin fangame. It can look a bit iffy in some areas but they really nailed the look of a crumbling down theme park.

Story is hard to talk about here since it’s just one chapter but I’m hooked and invested so far. Most games just want you to escape or find something in these areas but this one, you’re working with someone to actively try and bring life back to a place. Nice little twist that I’ve only seen at the END of one indie horror game. Speaking of that someone

I love Rambley so much dude. He’s just so…lovable and cute and I want a plushie of him, and all his friends are cool too and they va’s did great with all of em and they have cool designs and ahhhhh!!!! Love it!!! I love em all!!! I wanna be Rambleys friend!!! I wanna take him home and give him a hug a-

In conclusion, while it IS a first chapter demo and isn’t super complex, I’d still say give it a whirl. This game has something most others don’t…heart, love, soul, and so much passion put into this project. If you haven’t already, go get it on STEAM, it’s free and takes an hour and a half to beat if you’re hunting for collectables.

….also if any devs read this, I’d love a signed autograph of Rambley? Please? I SWEAR I’M NORMAL FOR HI-

Okay so started playing kingdom hearts 1 final mix.

Here are my thoughts so far, obvious spoilers for the early game of KH1:

- yo it's fun as hell, funny key blade I like this :3

- the vibe of Riku, Kairi, and Sora all wanting to leave the island together but just no mention of the others wanting to, like I guess it's fr island hell of eternal ball throwing for Wakka

- lost the stupid race, whatever I didn't wanna name the raft anyways 😔

- yo why TF is Minnie built like that, her head looks like a sphere holy schmoly

- HELLO LEON.

- I have never played final fantasy before but most of the characters from traverse town are from it? Super cool I love all of their designs and the Gunblade oooooh

- the game really just refuses to tell you where to go, like it's fun to not be babied at all but at least give me the tinniest clue that isn't just walk through random doors until you trigger a cutscene

- fought cool stuff, the enemy designs are cool

- all the puppies gone :( Pongo and Perdita just look destroyed wow

- the gang together, wow Donald is gonna die a lot isn't he

- I'm confused about the timeline because Tarzan is talking in the way he does before Jane arrives? But Clayton is clearly on the island so like? Is this before he meets Jane, is the plot of Tarzan playing out parallel to kingdom hearts? Or is it just unique idk.

That's all I can think of rn, maybe more funny update in future. :D glad I'm finally playing the game tho can't wait to get into the series more.

And in spirit of DELTARUNE, I have a theory.

Ok, so you know how Kris's side of the bedroom is completely bare, and Asriel's side is full of awards and music and whimsy?

Well, I think that's completely wrong. I think the left side of the room is Kris', and the right side is Asriel's. Asriel went to live in the dorms at his University, so why would he leave all his stuff at home? He didn't! So his side of the room is left empty. Everything in the drawer on the right side better aligns with Kris' personality anyway.

The shirt with the hole(I don't know if Kris would even be in cross country but we see them ruin their sweater in the end of Ch.1 when they rip the soul out)

The too many coupons for pizza (Kris is silly, I wouldnt put it past them to collect coupons and then forget about them until they expire)

And the embarrassing haircut school ID. (Asriel has FUR, not HAIR)

Kris has been sleeping in Asriel's bed because they miss him! (aww no :[ )

"But...but then why is Kris' room in the Ralsei's castle half empty, and the right side is full of awards? And everyone is always praising Asriel for his talents and how much they miss him! Obviously, Kris is jealous of Asriel because they aren't as accomplished, praised, or loved!"

WRONG. Look at this tiny piece of dialogue

Kris and Asriel are equally loved by their parents, Asriel is just brought up and praised a lot because he's not around anymore and everyone misses him×100. Kris possibly got those awards from comedy/costume contests, playing the piano, or talent shows they won because they have special characteristics as the only human. So why IS the room in dark world inverted?

Kris misses Asriel, both sides of their room probably looked the same before he moved away. I'm thinking that Asriels side is fully furnished because they want him to come home, and Kris wants to move into darkworld completely. (The left side because shrowded in shadow, maybe forshadowing?)

they were wasting time the first half of the 1st lol

paige told me to shut up after i said it took her too long to get a shot up and said watch me and filled out the stat sheet like crazyyyyy im so happy shes more aggressive and just better which is insane. her lull when sarah started going off in the 3rd...yeah no don't do that be aggressive always this is still your team

kaitlyn is exactly the type of player/pg we needed esp to work with p. her defense is good and she isn't afraid to score, which allows p to split pg duties and that's when paige is at her best. paige led in assist like WE ARE SO BACK BABY!! kaitlyn's experience is gonna be so helpful

RAH is gonna be a problemmmmmmm she's so versatile and skilled man i'm so glad she's a husky she's gonna be fun to watch these next 4 years. and she went to the PB school of efficiency when those 3s start falling its over for everyone else. she's so in control and just pure hoops

JANA MY EGYPTIAN QUEEN!! you can tell how much she grew since the exhibition game like she's was fighting and her energy is gonna help us a lot. DOUBLE DOUBLE IN HER FIRST GAME

most of that was written before the 3rd lol at the end of the day this is a very young team and they got comfortable with the lead. picked up fouls and started missing. also AGAIN WORK ON THE LAYUPS all those missed bunnies. i'm glad we have depth and paige got to rest hopefully the team can learn how to play without her. with the exception of that stint where sarah took over it was rough, but i doubt we'll have many big games without at least one of them (or azzi when she comes back) where at least one of them isn't on the floor unless it's a blowout.

obviously quality of opponent is not high, but they played a lot better as a team than sunday on both ends so it was fun to watch them esp the first half. usf will be a good early test for them sunday hopefully we don't have a slow start again but it's gonna take some time for the freshmen to really click. i do think jana needs to be starting sooner rather than later. i do wonder how deep geno's gonna go in big games it'll be interesting to see as the season goes on esp when azzi, aubrey, and caroline come back.
