If anybody has any questions about my au (bc this is a canon event in it), there's a button on the top. It's been there for years. Everybody who's been on tumblr for a while knows where and what it is. Feel free to ask me anything you'd like. I plan on hopefully sharing more about it as it's been on my mind for the past five years, and I've shared very little about it. I'm just trying to ensure that it's as best as it can be before completing publicizing it.

Some jerk on Deviantart has been attacking the people who draw and write gemling stuff. WE KNOW IT’S NOT CANON, NOBODY ACTS LIKE IT’S CANON, THAT’S WHAT AN AU IS! You know what else it isn’t doing? Hurting anyone! Some people need to get other hobbies other than harass someone who just drew a simple picture. You don’t have to like it, but some of us do.

UPDATE: Okay, I over-reacted. He’s not attacking anyone, he does gemling stuff too, he just was trying to clarify something for his own stories, but yeah, it did sound like an attack and I know people get crazy about hating Steven Universe, my sister is like that, so I’m kinda wary about anyone who might attack me for Fire and Ice and related, though that’s otherwise been VERY well received.

Amedot family tree (50th redraw)

I've drawn this, like a billion times, but here's the latest rendition.

Amethyst, Peridot, and their three gemlings! There's their first-born, Serpentine (nickname is "Serph"), who is nearly identical to Peridot in terms of looks, but she has the same self-indulgent personality as Amethyst. Then, came along their second, Charoite (otherwise known as "Char"), who is the opposite of her older sister; she's the spitting image of Amethyst but she is essentially Peridot’s mini me. And lastly, it is their third, Fluorite (shortened to "Flo"), who is a perfect mix of her mothers, with a sweet albeit vapid personality to boot.

For the Gemling and Gem Au or even adult Half-Gem! Reader, the hijinks of them trying to figure out how exactly to take care of a human makes me laugh. Gem! Storm trying to make food and catching the stove on fire, Gem! Xavier trying to entertain the toddler by playing space chess, Gem! Logan reading a parenting book while Gem! Sabretooth is trying to get Reader dressed (the outfit is ugly and they REFUSE to wear it). Comedy Gold, I say!

Even better if half Gem! Reader is half-diamond like Steven. Cause they want to be reverent and respectful and maybe a little scared but Reader needed to eat their veggies but would prefer to cupcakes but dessert is supposed to be after dinner and-MY DIAMOND NO!

(I love these Half-Gem Aus and I'm not even a fan of Steven Universe! Your writing is just that good)

Thank you! And honestly, I not even sure which adult would end up with half gem Reader! If they were a Dimaond, I'm thinking they would either be a Red Diamond, Orange Diamond, or Green Diamond!

Reader as a little toddler, happily playing with little dolls, and being watched over by their worried, terrified adult gem guardian. They have little to no clue about how raise a human, let alone one who is part Diamond! Especially if they're THEIR Diamond. They want what's best for them, and care for them, adore them, even, but they're just so... little. Breakable. Squishy. And they need constant care and food and water and cleaning.

The adult gem learns pretty fast what to do (and especially what not to do) when it comes to raising Reader. Their little star likes food, but they have to be forceful when it comes to eating certain ones, such as eating green veggies, fish, and soup, and not having too much sugar or acids. They learn humans bleed easily, and have to be easy with Reader when it comes to discipline or teaching self-defense, otherwise they could use too much force and break them. And bedtimes... Their little star needs sleep, lots at night, and a nap once or twice during the day.

Slowly, over the next few years, they realize Reader is growing up to be bigger, taller, different... And discover that humans live nowhere near as long as gems. This sends them into a panic attack, worried Reader will be gone too fast. Gems live for eons, millenia! Humans maybe live to be hundred! That's nothing to gems! Amd their kid is... they're part human. And if they don't figure out a way to keep them alive, or a way to make it so they can't die, then they could lose Reader to anything...

Reader grows up, loving their parental figure, and unaware of their gem type of much about gem culture, besides a few basic gem types and a bit about the Diamond Authority. It isn't until they're about fourteen or fifteen that they amd their parental figure find out a ship is heading towards Earth, in search of their parent... And their parent is scared, for once, that Reader can openly see...

Their parent can only hope no one hurts their diamond, or finds out this shocking secret...

With the potential resurgence of my Steven Universe hyperfixation I present to you some of my favorite pearl designs and a Nacre I've done, which I headcannon as the ones in charge of Pearl Beds/Production.

I have a whole ass AU where Blue and Yellow Diamond fuse and shatter White and have to make a new way for gems to reproduce which ends up essentially becoming a version of a Gemling and or A/B/O verse that's been rumbling around my neurospicy brain so we'll see if I actually post the uncolored sketches I have or not.
