Cloud - stares when you say it. Stares for so long you think he might have a headache too. Very low-key in his care. slide pills across the table in a suspicious manner. Leaves cups of water in various places to make sure you see it. Gets fed up and carries you to the bed to smother you in blankets. He knows the best way to get rid of your headache. 

Genesis - "oh??? You have....a headache? Well darling if you wanted to touch me all you had to do was ask-" you have to throw a plate at him because why is he like this?? You're walking away as he explains that he knows the quickest way to get rid of it and he has this new magic trick with his fingers- and now you're running away from him. Trust in him to get rid of that "headache" for you.

Sephiroth - more of the opposite with Angeal. Trying to face sephiroth on your own and tell him you want to touch him is always intense- its already hard to look at him. "You know Seph...I heard that...you know- touching..a lot can get rid of a headache" Sephiroth is no idiot. And his senses are heightened so he knows exactly what you're trying to do, but if you can't ask for it, you won't get it. So it's "oh really? I could perhaps request shinras company to give you a massage. Or even ask hojo if he has any ideas of getting rid of those headaches"

Angeal - notices before you do. Already has pills and blankets and drinks out ready for you when you come crawling and pouting in his lap. He's already called the day off and he'll finish his other tasks later when he's gotten you to sleep. You're not letting him go so he has to carry you monkey style while he makes little sandwiches for you to eat to combat the headache. Shushing you when you try to get up and be human. You don't get that choice unfortunately, Angeal is a stickler for health and yours is most important. Just lay back and take what he's going to give you~

Zack- you tell him and it feels like he's in pain himself at the thought. He's giving you nonstop hugs and hydration and now you're in a snuggle burrito. He's talking softly into your neck about whatever, making sure to keep it leveled as to not disturb you. But maybe you look..too cute in there all trapped and happy. Maybe he should make sure...all your needs are taken care of. He's heard that there are a few more things that get rid of headaches.

-Takes a little while (think 4-5 months) for him to learn to tolerate the cat, and nearly double that time for him to accept it as part of his life, which is understandable, considering that he's practically a cat himself.

-He'll let you pick the first name, but he chooses the surname (yes, your cat has a surname), and it's something remarkably humanoid. Imagine explaining to the vet that your cat's name is Sparklepaws Pembleton-Clark.

-Once he gets used to the feline, he'll start seeing it as his sibling. He will have full on conversations with the cat, ones that are very serious and not at all baby talk. When the cat wants to eat, a conversation like this might take place:

"Good morning/afternoon/evening, Pembleton-Clark, what would you prefer for your meal today?"

"Meow."

"Ah, cat food, a fine choice. Please be seated and I shall deliver your food presently."

"Meow."

"You're very welcome. Have you read the paper, by the way? I heard there was a sale on feline litter at the local supermarket."

-Will play with the cat and tickle it; occasionally can be spotted on the couch with the fluffy fur-baby in his lap, stroking and petting it while watching TV or reading.

-Basically, the pet is family, once he gets used to it.

-Loves the cat the minute you bring it home. He'll pick it up and carry it around, cooing at it like it's a baby.

"Awwwww, who's a good little fluffy snookums? You are! Yes, you are! My pretty little puffy fluffle--awww so cute. Soooo cute."

-INSISTS upon naming it; your cat is officially called Her Divine Majesty Emperess Gen-Gen II, and there is nothing you can do to change that.

-Pampers the cat, giving it baths every month and grooming it as well as keeping its claws trimmed and it's fur nice and shiny.

-Sometimes he even ties it's fur up into little pigtails and decorates it with hairclips before taking pictures of it and sending them to you.

-Coddles the cat, spoiling and playing with it whenever he can. He sees your pet as an extension of himself, and therefore treats it the way he wants to be treated. (Lavishly)

-Adores the cat and always will, just as he adores you.

♧Angeal♧

-Angeal is the embodiment of the dad who says "We're not getting a cat" and then proceeds to adore and spoil the cat like a young child. He was against getting a pet, but then saw the fluffy little thing you pointed to and just caved.

-Lets you name it because he doesn't care what it's called. Unless you named it after yourself. Then he can't even look at it without tearing up.

-Is a true tsundere towards that cat, always giving it the side eye; regarding it with cold professionalism. But deep down, he loves that furry thing and will definitely let it sleep on the bed with him.

-Buys it toys and those little tree jungle gym things, as well as treats. As stated before, he keeps a cold front but truly adores that kitty.

-Will let it sit in his lap while he does paperwork, and sometimes even brings it to Shinra with him. (everyone gets jealous and always wants to pet it)

-All in all, loves that furry cutie, even when it scratches up the furniture and tears up his socks.

☆Reno ☆

-He and the cat eyed each other at the pet shop for 10 full minutes before he agreed to taking it home. Reno has had experience with cats, having owned one himself before, and knows exactly what kind of trouble they are.

-Very suspicious of the cat for the first several weeks but soon eases into its company, once he's sure it won't tear up his stuff. He soon goes from uncomfortable and jittery to relaxed and loving.

-He'll pet the cat, feed the cat, play with the cat, and even eat with the cat. He'll literally have a cat food bowl and a highchair set up so the cat can eat at the table like a human. It's the most adorable thing ever.

-Once he and the cat have bonded enough, he decides to make it his partner in crime. He'll try to train it by giving it treats whenever it knocks over a specific object, except the cat gets the wrong idea and thinks it'll get a treat whenever it knocks stuff over, so Reno has essentially turned your cat into a furry wrecking ball.

-Has decided to name your cat Sir-Smashes-A-Lot in light of this behavior. A cute name for a cute (but mischevious) cat.

-Sometimes he'll use a pet-friendly fur dye and dye Sir-Smashes-A-Lot's fur to match his. You might come home to find both your boyfriend and pet sporting bright green locks of fur/hair.

You’d, quite literally, bumped into him one day. Rufus had been in for a very brief visit, or so you’d been told. Tseng said he’d only been in the building for a grand total of an hour, but before he’d left he’d requested that one of the Turks escort you to the bookshop, to which Tseng had happily agreed. You hadn’t been in months, so the result had been you picking up nearly every book you set your eyes on that looked remotely interesting. Tseng had escorted you safely back to the headquarter’s ground floor before heading off on other business. You were ecstatic about your new haul and the fact that you’d been outside for the first time in ages, so you would be forgiven that your attention was solely on the bag of treasures you held in your hands as you headed on autopilot towards the elevator, not expecting any obstacles to be in your way. It was then that you’d strode confidently into an unmoveable object, so strong that you fell backwards and your bag spilled, books scattering to the floor.

You looked up at what had blocked your path and saw the tall figure of the imposing Soldier, famous for his red leather coat as he looked down at you, momentary confusion across his face.

“I’m so sorry!” You bowed your head, realising just who you’d ran into. You’d crossed paths at events sometimes when Father deemed it necessary, but the two of you had never spoken. Why would you?

“Are you all right?” He’d crouched down in front of you.

“Yes, thank you.” You nodded, keeping your head down as you got up to your knees and started to gather your fallen books. You were reaching for one when a gloved hand beat you to one. Genesis Rhapsodos’ eyes lit up at the title.

“Now, this is an interesting one.”

“You’ve read it?” You didn’t mean to sound surprised and hoped he wouldn’t be offended. You’d only ever seen him with a rather beloved copy of Loveless.

“I have. I won’t spoil it for you though, Ms Shinra.” He smiled. You blushed at the realisation he knew exactly who you were.

“I heard people at the bookshop saying it’s trying to be a knock-off Loveless, but I couldn’t help myself.” You began to pack the books back into the paper bag.

“No comment,” he passed you another two titles. “But nothing holds up to the original.” Genesis watched as you carefully placed the volumes in the bag before he offered you his hand. You accepted – it would be rude not to – and he easily pulled you up to your feet. “I must commend you for your excellent taste – I wasn’t aware you were such an avid reader. Forgive my abrupt remark, but is this why we see so little of you?”

You blushed again at that – he knows who you are and enough to note your absence?

“I…” You hesitated. The reason everyone saw so little of you was that Father hardly gave you permission to do anything but stay in your room. Some days you’d tried to leave and found a Soldier stationed at your door, requesting you stay in there today for your own safety. On the days you were allowed out of your room, you weren’t permitted to leave the building unless escorted, so you spent the day wandering the hallways of places you did have access to, or could follow in the elevator.

You swallowed, “I’m sorry if I’ve come across as rude with my absence, I didn’t mean to. You’re all so busy and I don’t want to be an intrusion to anyone until I can contribute.”

Genesis nodded, but you were pretty sure he could tell you were lying. “Well, permit me to escort you back to your quarters to ensure these books arrive safely at their destination without any further incident.”

“That’s very kind but unnecessary, General. I’ll be perfectly fine from here. I promise to look where I’m going this time.”

“I insist, Ms Shinra. Why shouldn’t a general’s duties include escorting a young lady like yourself safely home?” He then deftly snatched the bag from your hand, holding the books hostage. “Besides, I would like to see what else you’ve purchased today – I’m always looking for recommendations.”

You hesitated, but surely you couldn’t get in trouble over this? He was a General in Soldier and you could hardly boss him around. “That would be very kind, General.”

“Please, call me Genesis.” He replied, offering the crook of his arm. You prayed your face hadn’t gone completely red as you slid your arm through. “Now, tell me, which one are you going to read first?”

You’d made polite conversation back to your quarters, but you couldn’t help yourself when you saw Genesis’ eyes widen as your door slid open, revealing your imposing bookshelves. Your quarters were small but it wasn’t like you entertained. There was a bathroom to the side, and a split living room and sleeping area. You had bookshelves lining all of the walls – a collection you’d started when you were quite young.

“If you have time, you can come in and have a look through the shelves. That’s only if you wanted to, I mean…” You trailed off, cursing yourself. He was a general, surely he had dozens of things to do rather than escort the likes of you back to your quarter and then look through your books…

“I’d love to.”

He’d stayed in your room for nearly an hour, marvelling over the contents of your bookshelves whilst you packed away your new purchases and noted them down in a notebook you kept. You’d told him he could borrow anything he liked the look of and he’d slowly began a small pile on the table. Eventually, his phone had rang. You’d busied yourself with something, not wanting to ease drop but the conversation had been monosyllabic on his side before he hung up.

“My sincerest apologies, but duty calls.” He forced a smile. “I must thank you once again for your hospitality, Ms Shinra.”

“The pleasure’s been all mine - I’ve enjoyed the company. Please, don’t forget your books.” You gestured to the pile and he hesitated, before snatching only one off the top.

“How about I take this one for now? Then I could call upon you again for the next, if you’d have me, that is.” He smirked at that.

“I’d… I’d like that.” You smiled, your heart skipping a beat.

“Excellent.” Genesis headed towards the door, before spinning on his heels and taking your hand instead. “Even if the morrow is barren of promises, nothing shall forestall my return.”  He pressed a kiss to the back of your hand before he strode out the door, your face matching the red of his coat perfectly.

Genesis would normally be reading his book "Loveless." He's read it enough times to be able to recite the entire book without even looking at the pages. He tried to continue reading his book, only slightly oblivious to the world around him. Yet, he was restless, as if something were bothering him. You weren't sure what it was and he wouldn't answer. It was a normal day, nothing was different, in your opinion. He had to go to work, and you had offered to come along. He didn't reject you. Only once or twice had he ever turned down the invite, due to reasons you couldn't remember. You were all too familiar with the layout, the people, and the rooms inside the base. This time, you had decided to wear short shorts and one of his T-shirts. Genesis had a thing for your legs. You didn't know it, he often kept the sexual things he was into private, he didn't feel comfortable speaking them out loud. While Genesis pretended to read his book, he would oftentimes tilt his head up just enough to see your legs as you walked by. He didn't want to be caught watching you, but at the same time, he couldn't help but look. If anyone looked in his direction, he would tilt his head down slightly and bring his book closer to his face, acting as if he had noticed something he hadn't seen before. He didn't want to be caught admiring your legs. Finally, he had enough. The two of you were alone. No one was expected to arrive for a while. He set his book down and walked over to you, and his hand gently took your own.

"Love, will you come with me, please?"

He waited for you to say something, anything, and when you said, "Sure, where to?" He led you into a quiet part of the base. He opened the door to the closet and pulled you into it after him. He closed the door once both of you were in. 

His gloves had been discarded at some point earlier. You didn't know where, and at the moment you didn't care. His hand slowly slid up your shirt, resting on your stomach, but going no further than that. The other hand holding your hip, pressing you against him, your back was against his chest. 

He breathed out, "Can you feel what you're doing to me? Do you want to take this further?"

"Yes, yes, I do." You breathed out. You tilted your head back slightly and he kissed your neck before gently biting it. He wouldn't leave any marks. No one needed to see what you two have done. He didn't want anyone to know about the private details of your lives. His hands slid slowly down your body. He wasn't going to rush it. He would certainly tease you, as you have done to him all day. It would also be a long while in that closet. Thankfully, no one was around to hear.

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

It’s got to be Mistletoe (A Christmas Bakugou x Reader One Shot Collection). Forever and always. I wrote all three short stories in three weeks, right in the middle of busy period at work. 

Idk I guess I’m just really proud of how I wrote Bakugou? I got a really lovely comment that said something like “soft bakugou IN CHARACTER?” and that was just so lovely because I spent time trying to devise how to make a realistic love story with that grump.

5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?

Hm. This year, probably Loveless (Genesis x Reader). It’s a fic I wrote back in 2009. The very beginning of my writing journey. But it got a bit of a resurgence on AO3 this year. I guess because of the FFVII: Crisis Core Reunion announcement/release? Either way, I thought that fic was buried, but it was really nice to get some comments on this year. Positive ones, to boot!

9. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?

I mean, it’s always gonna be Ojiro/Reader. But I’ve actually really enjoyed writing a Baji Keisuke/Reader fic (unreleased) this year because it’s been super fun to get to know his character. He’s equal parts arsehat, softie, feral and idiot. So, jumbling all those qualities together has made him a joy to write for.

16. What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?

Without a doubt, ‘Fluff’ tops the tags, followed by ‘Hurt/Comfort’, and then either ‘No/Mild Angst’. I like to spread the warm fuzzies.

28. Favorite work you wrote this year?

Published would have to be A Helping Hand (Ojiro x Reader). It’s full of all the tropes I love. First Meetings, Rescue, Slice of Life Fluff. And it’s an easy introductory fic for those who haven’t read any Ojiro pieces before.

Unpublished, I’ve got to say there is a really fun rewrite I’m working on. A piece I originally wrote in 2009. It was originally a Bleach x Reader fic based at a waterpark but I said hey-ho and threw caution to the wind, and now it’s a chaotic, non-sensical crossover x reader that will never see the light of day, but caters to my every taste, and is the only reason I’m still writing every day. Hehe.

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

So this is a snippet (not really a passage, I know) from a Krel x Reader fic I’m writing, but it’s only the canon cast here. It’s meant to be a comedic scene, and I think they’re pretty in character, mannerisms and all. So my big head is saying this one:

‘At the base of the mountain, once everyone had their skiing equipment, they huddled together with a map to decide which course to try.

“Ooo, let’s do this one.” Aja said, pointing at a course that started at the top of the mountain, marked by two black diamonds. Steve wrestled the map away from her, pitching her a loving but ‘are you nuts’ expression.

“You can’t start on a double-black diamond piste.”

“Why not?” She countered with a scowl. Then she smiled. “Aw. Are you worried?”

“A-doy. Double-blacks are expert level. Aja, people die on double-blacks. How about we start on a green course?”

“Imminent death?” Varvatos chortled with glee. “Glorious! Only the most dangerous courses are worthy of Varvatos’s footfall. If today is to be our day, may we crash and burn in snow-blazon glory!”

Passers-by picked up their speed, hoping to get away from the seemingly senile old geezer.

❥ cloud is the type of person who will swear up and down that he doesn’t get jealous, but truth be told, he does. however, he doesn’t recognize it as jealousy at first.

❥ although, he definitely tries to shove his feelings down once he realizes that he’s somewhat upset. cloud won’t upright and confess that he’s jealous or go up to you when he sees someone flirting with you.

❥ cloud’s pretty understanding if you needed space or if you were just talking with someone else, he’s not gonna immediately resort to his insecurity.

❥ but once it’s a reoccurring experience, or if they know what they’re doing— or worse, if they’re actively flirting with you or touching you, then he’ll definitely start to get a little jealous.

-When the Thanksgiving dinner is finally ready, he'll find that he actually enjoys eating turkey, especially the crispy turkey skin, and soon becomes addicted to sweet potato casserole. Potatoes with marshmallows!? He had no idea such a combination could exist and taste this good!

Just when you think the night is progressing properly with everyone socializing jovially and having fun, Genesis decides to cause some drama over something as small and insignificant as a housefly that had the misfortune of buzzing over his head.

-The minute he caught sight of that fly, his mind snapped into Total Bitch Mode. He rises from the table with fury, knocking his drink over and sending silverware flying everywhere, shocking you and your entire family.

-He will scream like a banshee, then send a massive fireball hurtling past all your heads and crashing into the wall where that poor little fly once rested. Everyone is in shock as they try to comprehend what the actual fuck just happened.

-Angeal gets along well enough with most of your family and friends, and even ends up swapping recipes with several of them, though he very much preferred talking to you.

-His favorite foods are the deserts, believe it or not. He adores pie, especially pumpkin pie, and eats so much of it, he gets a massive sugar rush and a bloated belly. Poor guy.

-After everyone was done eating, his honor compelled him to tackle the mountain of dishes that everyone left behind, something you told him not to worry about. However, Angeal refused to listen to you, stating that it was his dream to do the dishes.

⌗  now what he does do good in is bedtime stories! has the craziest things to tell and even some folklore from his hometown, gongaga! the kids eat up everything he tells them and are out cold within minutes🫡

⌗  surprisingly, he’s very good with kids! more so the girls because they’re all heart eyes for genesis, thinking him to be some sort of a prince.. especially with the way he dresses, speaks and carries himself in general..

⌗  he often entertains their fantasies, going along with them and accepting the flowers they picked for him or the colorings they’d hand him — it was just so cute!

⌗  the boys enjoyed to see him in action more with combat, literally watching with stars in their eyes when he fights.. but they always seem to gravitate a little more towards you ahaha..

⌗  genesis has to pinch himself occasionally from staring at you, watching how loving and caring you were towards these random kids that attached themselves so easily to you because you had given them the time of day

⌗  as the kids are lining up for your cooking, so is your boyfriend — he is SO there for that food and is very much enjoying not only the meals you prepare but this overall side of you.. it’s refreshing, he feels special to see it🙁

⌗  organizes a little play for the kids to take part in — of course it’s loveless, it always has to be with him.. and the kids beg him to read it to them at night which brings tears to his eyes. finally some loveless enjoyers!! unlike his friends who make FUN of him..

⌗  always brings baskets of dumbapples to share a piece of home with the kids and even makes different deserts and pastries that he came up with personally! might not do much cooking but baking — and with his hometown’s fruit? yes he will!

⌗  you would think he is another one of the awkward few ( seph and cloud, unfortunately im looking at you guys.. ) but he is not! angeal is really good at taking care of zack, almost as if he’s his own family.. so i believe he must be good with children too despite his stoic appearance

⌗  it was by chance one day during a mission that he had ended up helping you out with the kids you regularly took a detour to visit and hang out with, always bringing stuff from your missions — it was super cute honestly😭

⌗  he is a pretty family oriented guy tbh and totally seems like malewife material?? cooks for the kids, cleans up too, patches up them up if they get injured and tells stories to put them to sleep!! he’s doing it all, guys!

⌗  he wants to lessen your load as much as he can but you seem to have things pretty much under control and the kids are just so chill with you — it’s impressive honestly, he might need a tip or two for handling zack..

⌗  he was telling a story one time — about the buster sword, actually, and as attentive as the kids were, even you since it was your first time hearing, you’d ended up fast asleep along with the kids — it was the cutest sight seeing them curled up against you

⌗  games aside, you do try to teach the kids norms and values to keep with them and angeal also throws in a few words about dreams.. honor.. etcetera..

⌗  a few days later the kids ended up making cardboard and wooden cutouts of the buster sword and repeated his words along with the gesture — yourself included..🫣
