❥ cloud is the type of person who will swear up and down that he doesn’t get jealous, but truth be told, he does. however, he doesn’t recognize it as jealousy at first.

❥ although, he definitely tries to shove his feelings down once he realizes that he’s somewhat upset. cloud won’t upright and confess that he’s jealous or go up to you when he sees someone flirting with you.

❥ cloud’s pretty understanding if you needed space or if you were just talking with someone else, he’s not gonna immediately resort to his insecurity.

❥ but once it’s a reoccurring experience, or if they know what they’re doing— or worse, if they’re actively flirting with you or touching you, then he’ll definitely start to get a little jealous.

❥ instead of actively confronting you or getting up in the flirt’s face, he’ll only watch afar at first. he’ll observe the conversation, the light touches, checking to see if you look uncomfortable or not.

❥ when it begins to become too much though, cloud’ll come up to you, saying something along the lines of how he needs you or needs your help and that it’s so urgent that you have to come with him asap.

❥ if you even insinuate that he got jealous though, he’ll deny it to the moon and back and say that it never happened. he may act like he doesn’t care, but don’t let it fool you. cloud cares about you way too much to let you be slobbered over at a bar by a disrespectful dude.

❥ i feel like zack’s semi into pda? as long as he’s not around the firsts or anybody important, especially angeal, then he just can’t wait to show you off. he can’t help it, poor boy loves you too much 😭 so because of the somewhat pda, i dont see a lot of people trying to flirt with you— especially knowing that your boyfriends a SOLDIER.

❥ i dont think he’d even notice at first, too busy talking to you to even notice that theres someone who has your attention also. i cant see anybody really trying to flirt with you though, zack’s like that one small dog who keeps yapping at your feet when you get to close to its owner.

❥ zack is very vocal!! if the person interrupts your conversation, he will blatantly call them out on it. he’d narrow his eyes at them and just say, “hello, i was talking to them??” because who interrupts people like that?? plain rude!!

❥ saw this in another post and i totally agree with it, zack’ll joke and joke with underlying messages behind these said ‘jokes’ and definitely has the mindset of, “what can they offer when you have me???” he just doesn’t see how they catch your attention or why they’re talking to you while hes sitting right there??

❥ will bend over backwards just for your attention, he will pout otherwise if he doesn’t get your full undivided attention after his attempts.

❥ will probably annoy the person after you’re gone by either passive-aggressively interrogating them or ranting about how in love he is with you. he’s like the cartoons where they hold their chin in their palm with heart eyes as they look up all dreamy with a giant thought bubble that’s just you. he can’t help it, he just loves you too much (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞!!1!1!

❥ for pre nibelheim (because i miss soft and not crazy sephiroth), i cant see him getting all that much jealous? i guess he’d get more so protective if he sees someone all up on you— but otherwise, he’s pretty laid back about it. he puts a lot of his faith in you entrusting that you won’t break it, so i cant see him going crazy over it.

❥ i think sephiroth’s mature enough to not cause a scene even if he was jealous, though. he wouldn’t be petty or actively try to keep you away from anybody pre nibelheim, although he finds it amusing how they try to flirt with you.

❥ he especially has to have trust in you considering he’s a first class!! unless you are also a SOLDIER or you’re associated with shinra, you guys will spend semi-large gaps of times apart. he doesn’t think you’d betray him like that though, he’s mature enough to have a conversation if he’s really worried.

❥ sephiroth has his moments of insecurity, but usually when he’s off duty— he’ll be with you. i’m just imagining sitting at a bar with sephiroth as he’s literally right beside you while this persons trying to slide up next to you lol. i also don’t think sephiroth gets jealous because he knows his worth and know he can be intimidating when he wants to be!! even just his teasing makes people quiver in their fuckin boots lmao. i doubt anybody would wanna mess with a first class SOLDIER who’s fit and over 5’11” / 180cm.

❥ after they either get intimidated or realize their advances aren’t working and that you’re happily in a relationship with sephiroth and leave, he’ll chuckle to himself as he thinks aloud about how silly it was to even attempt to get with you, knowing who you’re with. on the off chance that he’s feeling a little possessive or something, he’s not one for pda but he might just give you a kiss after they leave and a quick murmur of amusement due to their foolishness.

❥ now!! post-nibelheim!! you’re not even gonna be out of his sight enough to be hit on considering he’s kinda like.. a war criminal in a sense 😭. he’s much more possessive in his little silly criminally existentially crisis insane arc, never letting you leave alone or even go out in public that often. he’s much more obsessed with you after his break, so if he finds someone even making advances on you?? ooh, boy.

❥ reno is one weird little dude, let me tell you that. every time i think of reno, i think of a cat. with a suit. suit cat.

❥ reno does get jealous a lot of the time, even if he is usually all up on you anyways. he still is a turk and also has to spend some time away from you, leading to overlapping thoughts of you while he’s away, maybe not even just possessive but also about if something happened to you. nothing could cure these thoughts better than a little phone sex, though.

❥ i’d like to think reno’s into pda as long as he’s not at work, poor rude having to witness wet kisses on your cheek with a lazy arm slung across your shoulder ever day. so i can’t really imagine anybody trying a bunch of stuff with you when usually— reno’s not too far behind.

❥ if reno happens to be not right next to you and he’s just doing his own thing and he happens to GLANCE AT YOU? AND HE SEES SOMEONE HITTING ON YOU?? instant slide next to you.

❥ he’s petty enough to start calling you all these pet names while he’s sitting next to you, wrapping his arm around you while he’s sizing the flirt up. he’ll look them up and down with a hard stare and maybe throw some passive aggressive comments every once in a while.

❥ he’ll probably make them uncomfortable (unless they wanna square up, because knowing reno, he might just charge if the person reciprocates his belligerent comments) so by the time they already leave, reno’s already whining against you as he asks what that was all about, acting all clueless afterwards. but you can tell just from the tone that laces his voice that he knows what he’s doing lol.

❥ he’s just a petty guy, maybe not so much possessive because i mean you can go out wherever you want wearing whatever you want (maybe after a small quickie at home if it’s something revealing), he can fend for you. he swears he’s your knight in shining armor no matter how much he teases you lmfao

❥ now here’s the real knight in shining armor™!!!! angeal is your savior if you’re ever in an uncomfortable situation, although he doesn’t really get jealous at all— he’s just very observant of you.

❥ angeal has a whole thing about how in a relationship you must have faith and he’s very comfortable with both you and himself. he’s happy in your relationship and he is secure with himself!! if zack ever sees you two together and he’s like “(」°ロ°) 」??”, bombarding him with questions as usual, then i can just see angeal giving zack a talk on how to treat women and the gentleman way of approach— although zack is very respectful, it’s just in angeals nature to lecture.

❥ he won’t think anything of it when someone you know sits with you, you guys usually know each others relatives and friends well enough to trust them. but he’s a little iffy when a random stranger starts chatting you up.

❥ angeal obviously trusts you!! again, unless you’re a SOLDIER (which he wouldn’t prefer only because he worries about your well being), then you guys will have to spend some time apart. he has a lot of faith in you and will always write you when he’s away, letting you know he’s always thinking of you while you’re apart.

❥ if anything, he’ll save you if he notices you’re uncomfortable or something along those lines. he’ll swiftly say he needs your for something and apologizes to the person out of courtesy that he interrupted your guys’ conversation, but oh it’s so urgent, we must retreat!! and i must hold you hand in hand while we run off and do totally boring SOLDIER duties!!

❥ omfg then he pulls you aside and asks if you’re okay and ugh i just want him so bad. like sephiroth, he’ll also explain how foolish it was to even hit on you when you’re clearly happily in a relationship with him. you two’ll walk along back to hq (?) or whatever while you talk about how odd the encounter was.

❥ so in conclusion !! angeal is a gentleman and doesn’t get jealous / protective unless he thinks you’re in trouble or you’re clearly uncomfortable. angeal hewley to the rescue!!!

❥ this dramatic bitch.

❥ genesis is so petty that he’ll probably consider the possibility that you’re flirting back? and then proceed to ignore you or leaving you off with some esoteric poetry while he tends to his duties. he is first class, after all.

❥ if he’s sitting right next to you though, and he hears that you’re not flirting with them. he’s petty enough like reno where he’ll suddenly be throwing out all these dramatic pet names and throw longing glances towards you, except he won’t even spare a glance towards the other person— simply only paying attention to you.

❥ id consider genesis a jealous person, but i do think that most of it strikes a protective instinct within him. he does understand that he’s also a first class SOLDIER meaning he’ll have to trust you, but he has way too much time on his hands to think. also like angeal where he’ll write you as much as he can— except he’ll send you mindless poems he writes or favored quotes of LOVELESS.

❥ in the case that you leave to go to the bathroom or any sort of occasion, genesis would probably scare the other person or make them feel uncomfortable as well. but when you return and they’re gone, he’ll act so clueless. all, “whatever do you mean, dearest?”

❥ another instance where i don’t think anybody would try anything with you. like angeal and sephiroth, genesis is a first class SOLDIER. everybody knows these dudes are the real shit (well, mainly only sephiroths talked about, but it applies to genesis and angeal too!!) so hes all smug parading you around as he side eyes every person who gawks at you. of course he knows you’re beautiful, but your beauty is too much for these fools to comprehend. so yes, he must glare at every single of them.

❥ and yes, also like his companions, he will jeer and whine about how silly it was to try that with you when you two are alone. i can even see genesis pulling a cloud and just whisking you away claiming you need to do something and then act like nothing happened afterwards. either that, or he’ll overdo it and claim to be your angel— no in between.

⌗  i hate to break it to you anon but i gotta slap some angst in here — sephiroth finds himself a bit confused, yet curious watching you among kids. had he been raised as normal kids were, would he have received this sort of attention too..? this kindness that was given without effort or consequences?

⌗  in the beginning he just let you do your thing, hanging out with them as you did while he waited to walk you home later.. but then he was slowly urged to join- by the kids no less.

⌗  he felt awkward, out of place and unsure of how he should act — but everyone was patient with him and something oddly warm began to spread in his chest. you didn’t pressure him into anything either — which he was grateful for.

⌗  the girls would braid brush his hair, place flowers in, and when the boys marveled at his height and overall build, begging to be carried, sephiroth obliged and found himself feeling elated — at peace among them.

⌗  you always told them bedtime stories but over time, the kids began to whisper and ask you if sephiroth could because his voice was so smooth and lulled them to sleep effortlessly

⌗  one time the children found a gray, stray kitten — and didn’t want to give it away.. so it became a combined effort between you, the kids and sephiroth, too.. who felt a strange empathy for the feline. it became an everyday thing from then for all of you to take care of the cat and welcome it among your group<3

⌗  someone crying or hurt? masamune’s out and ready to take out the reason behind those tears and wails — which you have to stop seph from doing, but it’s cute how much he cares<3

⌗  he’s um- cloud is uh.. he’s doing his best, remember?? ahem.. in other words, he is still trying to get accustomed to kids — it’s a work in progress, but you seem to be amazing with them??

⌗  bro is completely awestruck at how well you get along with them, how you have them following you around with such ease and looking all excited when you arrive. literally how is that possible?? it makes no sense..

⌗  but cloud, as stated before, is doing his best. during the times that you ask him to help out, he manages to provide a lending hand in busying them.

⌗  a lot of the kids are in awe with him and want a chance to ride on fenrir with him or learn how to wield such an impressive weapon like he does — so cloud does what he can to indulge in those requests..

⌗  not the best or worst with cooking but he does know some recipes from growing up with his mother and has shared them with you to cook together on occasion for the children<3

⌗  over time cloud does get better with them, becomes more natural and less stiff.. though he can’t help but stop at times and stare when he witnesses you with them — so serene and kind, delicate and careful. unknowingly, it brings a tint smile to his lips and thoughts of the future.

⌗  ..and then the kids call him out and he becomes a flustered, tsundere, mess — which has you stifling a laugh into your hand LMAO

⌗  you’re good with kids?? him too!! zack is so so good with kids, they absolutely ADORE him ( can’t blame ‘em ) — he’s just so chill for an adult!

⌗  seeing you with kids literally clenches at his heart, your exchanges with them are just so so cute and you speak in such a sweet, gentle voice towards them. could honestly listen to you all day if he could😭

⌗  the kids always tease you guys about getting married and make kissy faces at you guys which has your face burning up with embarrassment meanwhile zack is like hell yeah!! ofc he’s gonna marry you, duh!!

⌗  the girls like to pick flowers for you both and do your hair all pretty<3 and zack’s too, cuz ofc he needs to look his best too!! he has little reluctance and is excited as a puppy✨

⌗  surprisingly, he’s very good with kids! more so the girls because they’re all heart eyes for genesis, thinking him to be some sort of a prince.. especially with the way he dresses, speaks and carries himself in general..

⌗  he often entertains their fantasies, going along with them and accepting the flowers they picked for him or the colorings they’d hand him — it was just so cute!

⌗  the boys enjoyed to see him in action more with combat, literally watching with stars in their eyes when he fights.. but they always seem to gravitate a little more towards you ahaha..

⌗  genesis has to pinch himself occasionally from staring at you, watching how loving and caring you were towards these random kids that attached themselves so easily to you because you had given them the time of day

⌗  as the kids are lining up for your cooking, so is your boyfriend — he is SO there for that food and is very much enjoying not only the meals you prepare but this overall side of you.. it’s refreshing, he feels special to see it🙁

⌗  organizes a little play for the kids to take part in — of course it’s loveless, it always has to be with him.. and the kids beg him to read it to them at night which brings tears to his eyes. finally some loveless enjoyers!! unlike his friends who make FUN of him..

⌗  always brings baskets of dumbapples to share a piece of home with the kids and even makes different deserts and pastries that he came up with personally! might not do much cooking but baking — and with his hometown’s fruit? yes he will!

⌗  you would think he is another one of the awkward few ( seph and cloud, unfortunately im looking at you guys.. ) but he is not! angeal is really good at taking care of zack, almost as if he’s his own family.. so i believe he must be good with children too despite his stoic appearance

⌗  it was by chance one day during a mission that he had ended up helping you out with the kids you regularly took a detour to visit and hang out with, always bringing stuff from your missions — it was super cute honestly😭

⌗  he is a pretty family oriented guy tbh and totally seems like malewife material?? cooks for the kids, cleans up too, patches up them up if they get injured and tells stories to put them to sleep!! he’s doing it all, guys!

⌗  he wants to lessen your load as much as he can but you seem to have things pretty much under control and the kids are just so chill with you — it’s impressive honestly, he might need a tip or two for handling zack..

⌗  he was telling a story one time — about the buster sword, actually, and as attentive as the kids were, even you since it was your first time hearing, you’d ended up fast asleep along with the kids — it was the cutest sight seeing them curled up against you

⌗  games aside, you do try to teach the kids norms and values to keep with them and angeal also throws in a few words about dreams.. honor.. etcetera..

⌗  a few days later the kids ended up making cardboard and wooden cutouts of the buster sword and repeated his words along with the gesture — yourself included..🫣

First Class Boyos reacting to their S/O booping their nose scenario.

This just came up in my head and I just had to write the boys reacting to it, enjoy~!

Genesis: He'd feign resistance, pulling his head away from you with an amused smirk on his face. He acts like he's so above it. Such a childish action won't be acknowledged by him, totally not. Then, you would try to do this in front of Sephiroth and Angeal. He’d really try to act like it bothers him in front of his friends, but his subtle, delighted grin and the sparkle in his mesmerizing blue-mako eyes tell you a different story when you finally did it. Just don't do it in public, however. He’d be so flustered. He has to look sharp to keep up his reputation, you know.

Sephiroth: The first time it happened, you two were caught in a playful argument. To end it, you leaned in and gave him a gentle boop on the nose. He was taken aback when he felt the soft nudge on his nose and the cozy sensation that followed. His heart skipped a beat when he saw your sweet, inquisitive face in response. As a result, His inner child's glee would increase every time you did this, as evidenced by his growing smile... Congrats, The Crisis Cutie now requires you to give him a fair share of nose boops each week, especially when you two have a friendly squabble. At least you got a good chance to win the argument since he’s so weak for them. Fair warning though, He might go into a sulky pout if you deny him the boops he yearned for. 

Angeal: As you gently pressed your finger to his nose, he felt a wave of nostalgia wash over him. He remembered his mother doing this to him once when he was a child, and the memory brings a sense of comfort to him. You will get a nose boop in return for the first time, without a doubt. He won’t want them all the time though, so it would have be done sparsely. You can count on it as a great pick-me-up when he needs a bit of comfort, or just needs a soft reminder that everything will be okay. It might become a thing you both do with Zack.

VP Squared - First Class Impressions

prologue | part i

Genesis should’ve known anyone who got on well with Rufus Shinra would be a load of trouble. Sephiroth thinks it’s a funny turn of events that his friend is the one experiencing stress, rather than causing it.

Angeal’s just happy to be there, really.)

“Dibs,” is the first thing out of Genesis’ mouth as he walks into the conference room.

You know he was referring to you, but you don’t even spare him a glance before returning to your conversation with Rufus… to make it clear to everyone in the room that your VP is and will remain your main priority.

Behind the silly little red-coat-wearing-in-the-middle-of-damn-July man, Angeal looks rightfully embarrassed and is trying to drag the man away. Sephiroth chooses to ignore them both, and makes for his usual seat.

Undeterred, Genesis walks closer to you and stretches out his arm, pointer finger raised straight at you. “Dibs,” he repeats.

You and Rufus share a look for no longer than a second, and your VP immediately understands. He has an amused look on his face as he says, “Go ahead.”

You no longer mask the annoyance you feel as you spit out the words, “Piss off.”

Genesis squeaks out, “I— beg your pardon?!”

You turn away from him, and focus your attention to Rufus once more.

The blonde flicks you on the nose, and laughs at the pinched expression you make. “I would’ve thought you’d say the more colorful word.” Translation: I was hoping you’d say the more colorful word.

You fiddle with your cup of coffee, making a point to keep Genesis hanging, knowing damn well he’s still hovering. “I thought it may offend his delicate sensibilities.” Translation: You know what I mean.

Rufus snorts. As you drink your coffee, Rufus looks up at Genesis, and explains, “They just called you a little bitch.”

You may not have SOLDIER senses, but you swear you hear Sephiroth choke on his spit.

With a mild tone, you reprimand Rufus. “I said I think he’s a wuss.”

“Creative license.”

In unison, the two of you couldn’t resist to snicker. A sight that oddly further aggravates Genesis.

The Commander bites, “That’s it! Newbie, I’m gonna have a lot of fun breaking you in.”

Excuse me?

As you rake your eyes over Genesis’s form, you hear a voice somewhere else in the room ask, “Should I call Human Resources?”

Genesis looks half-murderous, and half-flirtatious as he smirks down at you.

You give him a cheshire grin and say, “Do your worst, Carrot-top.”

Sephiroth absolutely loses it.

Or at least by Sephiroth standards. The man is chuckling, and you could see his shoulders shake as he tries to rein in his mirth.

You pop him a finger gun à la Reno, and cheekily say, “Excited to work with you, General.”

Both Genesis and Angeal drop their mouths open in shock when Sephiroth gives a lazy mock salute, and says, “The feeling is mutual, rookie.”

You turn to Angeal, and give him a wink. “Same goes for you, Commander Hewley.”

A flustered Angeal murmurs, “Thanks. I’ll do my best.”

Genesis should have known you’d have no nice sentiments to spare for him. And he’s proven right when all he gets is a lousy, “You can drop dead for all I care, Red.”

Sephiroth excuses himself, and you could vaguely hear a deep laughter resounding in the hallway.

This is the scene President Shinra walks into, and he looks completely defeated. A triumphant grin forms on Rufus’ face.

All your posturing from earlier morning seems to have faded away, and now Genesis finds himself the sole subject of your attention. He gulps as you stare up at him with wide eyes, an almost enamored expression just for him… or at least his fireballs.

“That was so sick.”

Turning his nose up at you, and in a pathetic effort to hide the red dusting his cheeks, he answers, “What a crude way to address my talent.”

He’s surprised when you don’t respond with some quip. Instead, you whine, “C’mon, man. I’ve never even said that about Rufus with his guns.”

Filing away that tidbit about the Shinra brat, Genesis couldn’t help the giddiness he feels at your words. Not the words he would have preferred, but the sentiment certainly was there. Close enough. If throwing fireballs at dummies was what earned him your respect and admiration, then that’s what he’d do.

A part of him is terrified at his outright sense of urgency to impress you. He brushes the thought away when you grab onto his coat sleeve, and beg, “Please teach me, dude.”

Again, not his choice of words, but for now, dude will have to do.

“Rhapsodos, move! You’re blocking the view.”

The mood is instantly killed by the Shinra brat.

It starts off like this.

News gets passed around that you were assigned the Rufus babysitting gig.

You apparently became so powerful that you were named Sephiroth’s Lieutenant General, and that had made Genesis cry.

Genesis being reduced to tears seems to be the thread holding all these rumors together.

By lunchtime, everyone and their mother had their own theories on The Situation.

Which was why Cadet Cloud Strife had to do a double take when he saw you following after Genesis Rhapsodos, followed by Rufus Shinra following after you, and Sephiroth following after Rufus Shinra.

Cloud nearly dropped his soup in surprise.

As you passed, he could barely make out the words, “again” and “just one more.”

As the two of you make your way out the canteen, this bit of conversation once again throws everyone into a frenzy:

“Still think he’s a wuss?”

“Yeah, but not when he’s swinging that thing around.”

That thing in question was fireballs, but the rest of Shinra didn’t know that.

When Lazard the Bastard told you you’d have to pay your dues as the newest SOLDIER, you did not expect it to be that.

“Well, what did you expect? The rest of them were cadets first. I can’t just hand everything to you.”

You tried the Rufus excuse, but Lazard brushes off your concerns. “I can assign a First on him for a couple hours.”

Like he heard you, Rufus looks up from his phone, and gives you a nod and a smile.

Gods. Right when you wanted Rufus to be a brat and demand his way, suddenly now he’s all goody.

With a scowl, you tell Lazard, “Let’s get this over with.”

“What’s up?”

Angeal had to admit. For someone who’s elbows deep into cleaning bloody blades, you sure had a draw to you as you hum some kind of melody. He wordlessly sits next to you, and wipes down the first weapon he could get his hands on.

A half hour later, he gets the feeling that you’ve got quite the mouth on you. Though, he’s seen you behave more casually with the other Turks plenty of times, and sometimes with Rufus himself, it’s a bit jarring to be on the receiving end of it.

“—Not gonna lie — but don’t you dare tell anyone else — if Rufus didn’t have those photos on him, and he had to get an actual SOLDIER babysitter, I would have preferred you.”

‘Wait. What.’ Clearly, Angeal was a bit distracted by how efficiently you can clean blood that he had neglected to hear some damning information on how you may have gotten this new gig. Oh well. He can try chatting with you another time. Besides, your new position would only make you more accessible to him.

Heaving a sigh, and resting your bloody knuckles on your hips, you give Angeal a grin. “Wanna hide these rags under Genesis’ bed?”

As if you even need to ask.

When Rufus drags you by the back of your collar like a cat out of Genesis’ private quarters, he can already tell this scene is only going to cause more chaos.

A wide grin fights its way to his face.

Genesis Rhapsodos

One might not expect it but Genesis is a hopeless romantic at heart. He usually hides it quite well but once you get closer to him it’s obvious how much all of this really means to him. He often brings you flowers from Aerith or leaves little notes for you to find, for example when he has to leave the house before you wake up.

Whenever you compliment him, he’s putty in your hands immediately. Genesis might often act like he doesn’t care what others think about him but deep down, he really craves these words of affirmation – especially since he’ll probably never stop seeing himself as a monster or a failed experiment. It’s also so very easy to fluster him with genuine compliments, though he tries his best not to let it show.

Aside from Angeal and Sephiroth, you’re the only one he trusts enough to show his true self. Around others, he hides behind a mask of cockiness, even arrogance, carefully locking away his feelings and struggles, but around you, he doesn’t have to fake anything. He can be himself, without having to fear any judgement from you, and that alone is enough to make him fall in love with you again every single day.

He’s not one to get jealous easily since he trusts you and knows that you would never betray him like that. But he still hates when others are clearly trying to flirt with you, especially if you’re obviously uncomfortable with the whole situation. It makes his blood boil when others are unable to respect your boundaries, and in moments like that, he definitely won’t hesitate to step in.

Of course, his SOLDIER duties keep him more than busy, and he sometimes has to be away from you for days, if not weeks, but Genesis makes sure to contact you at least once a day, not only because he misses you but also to show that you don’t have to worry about him. He doesn’t always have the time to call you though, so sometimes he just sends a quick text (which includes at least one quote from Loveless as well as some variation of I love you).

Sephiroth

Sephiroth isn’t someone to fall head over heels in love with someone or to dive head first into a relationship. He’s definitely hesitant, even repulsing at first, and tries to push you away, both because he feels like he’s not what you need and because he’s just so used to being alone. But once you have him, Sephiroth is yours forever. 

He’s not overly affectionate, in the sense that he rarely initiates cuddles or kisses himself but he would never deny you any affection if you asked for it, especially since he soon realizes how nice it feels to just hold you close for a while. There’s something so calming and peaceful about cuddling with you, and although he’d probably never admit it, he really craves these feelings. However, PDA is something he most likely never gets used to. 

There’s absolutely nothing Sephiroth wouldn’t do to keep you safe and sound. He knows first-hand how dangerous and awful the world can be, and he tries everything in his power to keep you safe from all harm. And should someone dare to lay a hand on you, Sephiroth won’t hesitate to make them pay for it. He fiercely protects the people he loves, no ifs, no buts – even if he had to risk his own life in the process.

You’re one of the few people he trusts with his whole heart. When he’s around you, he doesn’t have to pretend to be something he isn’t, and that’s one of the main reasons why he feels so comfortable in your presence. You know him – the real him – and you accept him just the way he is, his flaws and quirks included, and he loves you all the more for that. 

However, being in a relationship with Sephiroth isn’t all sunshine and flowers. No matter how much he loves you, there will always be situations where he still pushes you away, for example when you get into an argument and he feels like he needs to protect you from himself. In moments like this, patience is key – sooner or later, he will come to you to apologize but until then, it’s best to give him some space.

When you first met Genesis you thought of him being a friend. Just a really good friend.

The two of you met at a bookstore. You somehow lost your one and only copy of loveless and needed to grab another quickly.

So after work you rushed to your local store and quickly navigated your way to the ‘poetry’ section. Once your eyes found the all to familiar white cover, they lit up.

A series of apologies left your lips as you weave though the other shoppers, occasionally bumping into them.

As you stood in front of the bookshelf, you reach out to grab the last remaining copy, but stop as another hand cuts in front of yours and grab the poem for himself.

“Hey!” Your voice was louder than anticipated, but it caused the stranger, and a few passersby, to stop and look towards you. The stranger raised his eyebrow in displeasure at you.

“You can’t just take the last book like that.” The man chuckles at your words before glaring between your figure, the empty loveless section, and the poem in his hand.

“Why. Do you wish for this? The hand holding the book rose to eye level. He watched as your eyes follow along and widen at the movement. A smirk rose to his lips.

“Well, I can’t give just anyone this copy. Why don’t you join me for coffee as we discuss this work of art?” His free hand motioned to a small cafe across the street from you. You took a moment to think before nodding.

For the next for hours. The two of you sat in the small cafe and talked. You began speaking about the poem you both loved. But that slowly morphed into personal talk. You learned a lot about the stranger, his name, where he grew up, and his occupation. You told him the same details about you in return.

The next thing either of you knew, the sun was beginning to set. As an orange hue overtook the blue sky, you said your goodbyes to Genesis, but not before receiving his phone number.

Meanwhile Sephiroth wanted to train you. He wants you to defend yourself. He also attempts to introduce you to other books, mainly to annoy Genesis, but also he wished for someone else to enjoy the books he does and to spend his quiet time with someone else.

At first Genesis was happy you and his two other friends were getting alone, but that quickly changed as he began to notice you spend more time with them and less with him.

Genesis tried to think of different ways to get you to spend more time with him, like getting front row tickets to the loveless play or ordering your favorite food, yet even after those you still made plans with the other 1st classes. 

The red head at first tried to blame you, thinking you were ignore him on purpose, but then after seeing how nice you are to others, he realized you were just to kind for your own good. Of course his friends are taking advantage of your kind nature.

So instead he took out his frustration on his fellow soldiers. He fought harder against them, took his missions more serious, and even tried to take control of their missions.

He continued this until Angeal and Sephiroth confronted Genesis on his actions.

Genesis stood in the virtual training room when Sephiroth and Angeal interrupted him. Angeal began asking his childhood friend about his recent behavior.

Genesis chuckled before telling them everything. About how they were trying to take you away from him,. That you were constantly wasting your precious time of them, when you should be spending it with him instead.

Within a few minutes all three men has drawn their weapons and pointed at each other.

Genesis and Angeal charged first, leaving Sephiroth amused at his stubborn friends actions. It didn’t take long for the three to commence a heated battle.

You’d, quite literally, bumped into him one day. Rufus had been in for a very brief visit, or so you’d been told. You hadn’t been in months, so the result had been you picking up nearly every book you set your eyes on that looked remotely interesting. Tseng had escorted you safely back to the headquarter’s ground floor before heading off on other business. You were ecstatic about your new haul and the fact that you’d been outside for the first time in ages, so you would be forgiven that your attention was solely on the bag of treasures you held in your hands as you headed on autopilot towards the elevator, not expecting any obstacles to be in your way. It was then that you’d strode confidently into an unmoveable object, so strong that you fell backwards and your bag spilled, books scattering to the floor.

You looked up at what had blocked your path and saw the tall figure of the imposing Soldier, famous for his red leather coat as he looked down at you, momentary confusion across his face.

You accepted – it would be rude not to – and he easily pulled you up to your feet. “I must commend you for your excellent taste – I wasn’t aware you were such an avid reader. Forgive my abrupt remark, but is this why we see so little of you?”

“I…” You hesitated. The reason everyone saw so little of you was that Father hardly gave you permission to do anything but stay in your room. Some days you’d tried to leave and found a Soldier stationed at your door, requesting you stay in there today for your own safety. On the days you were allowed out of your room, you weren’t permitted to leave the building unless escorted, so you spent the day wandering the hallways of places you did have access to, or could follow in the elevator.

You swallowed, “I’m sorry if I’ve come across as rude with my absence, I didn’t mean to. You’re all so busy and I don’t want to be an intrusion to anyone until I can contribute.”

Genesis nodded, but you were pretty sure he could tell you were lying. “Well, permit me to escort you back to your quarters to ensure these books arrive safely at their destination without any further incident.”

“That’s very kind but unnecessary, General. I’ll be perfectly fine from here. I promise to look where I’m going this time.”

You’d made polite conversation back to your quarters, but you couldn’t help yourself when you saw Genesis’ eyes widen as your door slid open, revealing your imposing bookshelves. Your quarters were small but it wasn’t like you entertained. There was a bathroom to the side, and a split living room and sleeping area. You had bookshelves lining all of the walls – a collection you’d started when you were quite young.

“If you have time, you can come in and have a look through the shelves. That’s only if you wanted to, I mean…” You trailed off, cursing yourself. He was a general, surely he had dozens of things to do rather than escort the likes of you back to your quarter and then look through your books…

“I’d love to.”

He’d stayed in your room for nearly an hour, marvelling over the contents of your bookshelves whilst you packed away your new purchases and noted them down in a notebook you kept. You’d told him he could borrow anything he liked the look of and he’d slowly began a small pile on the table. Eventually, his phone had rang. You’d busied yourself with something, not wanting to ease drop but the conversation had been monosyllabic on his side before he hung up.

“My sincerest apologies, but duty calls.” He forced a smile. “I must thank you once again for your hospitality, Ms Shinra.”

“The pleasure’s been all mine - I’ve enjoyed the company. Please, don’t forget your books.” You gestured to the pile and he hesitated, before snatching only one off the top.

“How about I take this one for now? Then I could call upon you again for the next, if you’d have me, that is.” He smirked at that.

Only once or twice had he ever turned down the invite, due to reasons you couldn't remember. You were all too familiar with the layout, the people, and the rooms inside the base. This time, you had decided to wear short shorts and one of his T-shirts. Genesis had a thing for your legs. You didn't know it, he often kept the sexual things he was into private, he didn't feel comfortable speaking them out loud. While Genesis pretended to read his book, he would oftentimes tilt his head up just enough to see your legs as you walked by. He didn't want to be caught watching you, but at the same time, he couldn't help but look. If anyone looked in his direction, he would tilt his head down slightly and bring his book closer to his face, acting as if he had noticed something he hadn't seen before. He didn't want to be caught admiring your legs. Finally, he had enough. The two of you were alone. No one was expected to arrive for a while. He set his book down and walked over to you, and his hand gently took your own.

"Love, will you come with me, please?"

He waited for you to say something, anything, and when you said, "Sure, where to?" He led you into a quiet part of the base. He opened the door to the closet and pulled you into it after him. He closed the door once both of you were in. 

His gloves had been discarded at some point earlier. You didn't know where, and at the moment you didn't care. His hand slowly slid up your shirt, resting on your stomach, but going no further than that. The other hand holding your hip, pressing you against him, your back was against his chest. 

He breathed out, "Can you feel what you're doing to me? Do you want to take this further?"

"Yes, yes, I do." You breathed out. You tilted your head back slightly and he kissed your neck before gently biting it. He wouldn't leave any marks. No one needed to see what you two have done. He didn't want anyone to know about the private details of your lives. His hands slid slowly down your body. He wasn't going to rush it. He would certainly tease you, as you have done to him all day. It would also be a long while in that closet. Thankfully, no one was around to hear.

GENESIS RHAPSODOS X READER - SMILE LITTLE SUNSHINE

During the aftermath of Sector 7's plate, you've stopped counting the hours you were spending on your works in hope it'd make a difference for the sake of these people who suffered this awful fate. You've been helping them getting the medicine they needed, since you work as nurse, but also, you give them whatever can help, furnitures, foods, water, etc...

Unfortunately, forgetting yourself that much made you ill to the point one of your superior had to make you stop working for a few days. You refused it. Your superior decided to call one of your closest friend who hasn't heard of you since the incident : Genesis Rhapsodos. No one else but your boss knew about his existence, whereas in the Shin-Ra's eyes, he's supposed to be dead.

Genesis waited for the night hours to come to see you at the hospital where you were attached against the bed and he smiled as he quickly knew you went stubborn the last couple of days. He sat next to you, freeing you from your false prison and pats softly your back.

"Once again, I see you in such shape... what happened ?" You look to him, bit frustrated yet sad at the same time before answering with almost a trembling voice. "I tried saving a few persons, even if it meant to accumulate my own job doing so. You can't blame me for being generous towards others ! ShinRa has been so heartless, they're pure jerks!" Genesis heard you and prefered to ease you by taking you in his arms before replying to your cry.

After a few minutes, you finally let go of all your frustration, and starts crying, feeling like you've failed at this task who seemed so simple. Genesis lets you free but lifts your head up to see your face, and wipes gently your tears with his thumb. "You work as a nurse, you save lives on the daily, it's already something huge, yet, you're too stubborn to realise that. No one blamed you for giving extra supports to the people living in the slums. I am sure they are thankful to see kindhearted souls like yours making a move to help them they can and that is such a great gesture coming from somebody living above Midgar's plate. Get that in mind."

Hearing his words, your tears started to stop crawling on your cheeks, you finally show a sweet smile to Genesis. He strokes your hair in response of your smile, knowing it also helps to ease your soul, showing he cares for you, especially. "You better keep smiling, my little Sunshine." he said, before kissing you passionately, he longed a while for this to happen. You froze when he kissed you but you did not refuse his sentiments. Your heartbeats started to increase faster than your own fever you're dealing with, and you close your eyes, answering to his kiss with a timid one but sincere.

You opened your eyes to see his looking into yours. "I want to rest out of Midgar, please..." Genesis understood your choice, and informs your colleagues and boss, as comes back to take your hand and leads you on the rooftop of the hospital you work in. He spreads his wing, grabs you and holds you close to his chest. "Hold on tight." and flies up in the air like a rocket and takes you both to what was Banora once. A small part of his home wasn't touched by the destruction and was actually cosy and comfy for the both of you with the strict necessary to live in.

Genesis places you on the bed with him, and puts his wing on you as a second blanket. He caresses your hair and your body's curves, to relax you without a perverted thought. You fall asleep quite easily to his gestures, a smile appearing on your face.

"Smile little Sunshine."

“..beloved by the goddess, hero of the dawn, healer of worlds.” genesis’ voice rang through the empty office, perched on an unoccupied countertop as you focused on your designs for your next show. hand steadying your sketchbook, you tilted the wooden pencil at an angle as it produced thin sketchy lines. your tongue poked through your lips as you contemplated a multitude of options to add to the drawing, and although you were concentrated, maybe you didn’t mind genesis’ retelling of the epic he adored so dearly as much as you let on.

maybe you were a little too concentrated considering you hadn’t noticed that he had stopped talking and was now inspecting your hunched form, sat at the table below him as you worked.

“you have quite a gift.” you finally heard, before a gloved hand came down to grab the book for further examination, much to your annoyance. the leather of his gloves rubbed against the paper pages as he turned them, eyes flickering over intricate pattern in your designs.

“yeah, well— someone has to have one if i’m ever going to make a living.” you crossed your arms, tucking the pencil behind your ear as you looked up at him. his hair somehow always framed his face, always making him look more esoteric, and if you were being honest, attractive as well. giving you a meager chuckle, he began talking again.

“how unfortunate.”

“how so?”

genesis placed the sketchbook back on your small circular table. sunlight seeped through the curtains that hung in front of your windows, providing him with a golden hue as he brought a hand to his face. he closed his eyes in sorrow before he spoke, “that the covetous economic system of our society must be so cruel to someone as beautiful as yourself,” he spoke, “truly tragic.”

you rolled your eyes as you watched genesis hop off the countertop and saunter to the seat next to you, eager to critique your designs at completion. his coat flowed with his movements as he tucked the book of LOVELESS back into it.

⌗ sephiroth’s confession would be something that requires patience. he doesn’t have much experience with love, as he wasn’t exposed to it much throughout his life.

⌗ it doesn’t mean he’s incapable of feeling it, rather, it’s a matter of him truly realizing those feelings he has and how deep they run. now the way those words come out.. would likely be influenced by heightened emotions.

a beat of silence passed before the the silver haired hero closed the door, turning to face you with an expression you weren’t certain his features were even capable of making. “what were you thinking??”

he was distressed, brows knitted together as you watched his chest rise and fall unevenly, each breath more irregular than the last. you assumed it was anxiety — something you’d never associated with sephiroth.. until now, that was. “i was doing my job, an injury or few is unavoidable at times, you know that.” came your mumble, feeling your own brows furrow.

of course he knew that, the top hero knew that better than anyone.. but this. “there are other ways to get things done, what you did today was completely reckless — as though you had no care whatsoever for your life.” he argued, moonlight bangs swishing from right to left when his head shook. “you could have died!”

now it was your turn to get frustrated as you stood up from your place despite your aching muscles, walking up to his broad frame. “and that’s suddenly an issue now? our line of work demands for us to risk our lives everyday no matter the mission! we both knew this going into our relationship, so why are you suddenly so worked up over this??” you matched his tone, not fond of the approach he’d taken in addressing you.

“because i nearly lost you!” he shouted, overcome with emotions so powerful, he couldn’t even stop the onyx, gloved hands that flew to your shoulders, clinging desperately to something.. something even he didn’t know of.

his breath stuttered as he lowered his head, trembling in his place. “i can’t.. i-i can’t have you leave me, too…” the first class SOLDIER whispered in a voice so broken, so defeated, you had to remind yourself that behind this towering, imposing powerhouse.. was a human being, with feelings of his own, no matter how well he hid them. a human that knew loss, and an unwelcomed amount of it.. and feared more of it.

unsure of what to do, you pulled him down into a hug, feeling your anger fade into nothingness as you allowed your eyes to close. “i won’t, not ever.”

⌗ he says get help but he’s the one that needs help.. bro just, he can’t say it — he’s too embarrassed and he just doesn’t rlly know how to bring it across properly..

⌗ in the end, he opts for a more subtle method that aerith had once told him about. it required minimal speech on his end, and called for actions to take the reigns — perfectly up his alley.. as long as you got the memo.

“cloud?” you called out in surprise, turning to find a familiar spiky haired blond with an ivory colored flower in between his gloved fingers.

his lightly tanned cheeks were dusted with a tint of pink, seemingly reddening as he held out his hand, averting his gaze. “you said you wanted me to bring you something back from my delivery in sector five.. figured i’d bring something you don’t find everyday here.”

your knowledge of flowers was minimal, as midgar.. wasn’t exactly filled with them. you only rarely saw them from a distance, and on the occasions that you had, normally they were too pricey to purchase.

somehow, however, the owner of strife delivery services seemed to have gotten his hands on one singular flower. when you’d ask for a small souvenir from his travels, it had been a joke, simply you joshing like you normally had with him.. though it appeared this time, that he had taken it seriously.

you cleared your throat, letting out a sheepish laugh. “you didn’t have to do that, but thank you — i’ve.. never received a flower before, much less held one..” you confessed in a soft tone, taking the bloom from his grasp as you brought it close to your face.

even without leaning in to take in its scent, the sweetness greeted your senses as a smile etched itself onto your lips. “aah~ it smells wonderful, what kind of flower is it??”

he rubbed his neck at the question, feeling himself grow more nervous by the second. “it’s um.. it’s called gardenia. aerith’s mom insisted i took one back with me, since they were the newest edition to her garden.. said something about it having a deeper meaning, too.” cloud spoke up, finally lifting his mako-azure eyes to meet yours.

you lowered the flower in your hands, tilting your head. “deeper meaning? i didn’t think flowers were so complex.” you snickered into your free hand before grinning brightly at him. “but, go on. i’m curious!”

the tips of his ears seemed to burn with red as his lips parted before he turned his back to you, folding his arms. “o-on second thought, i forgot..”

“WHAT?? no way, it must be good if you won’t say! come on cloud!” you urged him, moving in front of him to see his face, but all you caught was the faintest smile as he continued to turn away. so cryptic!

⌗ zack uh- as we can tell, he isn’t exactly the ‘think before you speak’ kinda guy — whatever comes out, comes out.. with no regard to how blunt or sudden it might end up sounding.

⌗ now how would that apply to a confession? well, i think he would just say it without even thinking of the impact behind his words. it would just come out naturally, casually.. and you would end up staring like- did he fr just say that??

a sigh left your lips as you turned the page of the newest issue you’d picked up of shinra’s very own magazine, because what didn’t the prestigious electric company have to their name?

meanwhile zack was busying himself with yet another set of squats, clearly antsy. missions had been quiet as of late, mundane even. at the moment, you were both occupying the second class floor, waiting for orders.. but nothing came.

a groan left the nicknamed puppy’s lips as he halted his movements before draping finally himself onto the spot on the couch you hadn’t occupied. “man i bet the firsts are out kicking ass! they really don’t have anything for us to do here??”

you licked your thumb to flip to the next spread, humming. “unless you feel like getting involved with professor hojo’s questionable ass tasks, i’d rather sit here in boredom.” you confessed, missing the grimace on his face since your eyes remained on the passage you had been reading.

“i guess you have a point.. but still.” he pouted, leaning into your face as a means of getting your attention. “can’t we go ask lazard?? he’s gotta have something by now for us, right?!”

a laugh seemed to leave your lips at his complaints as you lifted your eyes at last to meet his zircon ones, a smile stretching across your lips. “and, what? have him tell us no for the fifth time in the last two hours?”

his appendages seemed to part in protest before they jutted out once more. “w-well! for all we know a mission could have popped up on that computer of his right now! with angeal and them gone, they’re bound to ask us! i’m sure of it!” the second class SOLDIER insisted, clenching his fists in determination. “come on, y/n! it beats reading whatever propaganda you’re reading!”

it was partly true, shinra’s magazine went on and on about sephiroth’s feats if it wasn’t already in the daily paper or news. and one look at those puppy eyes had you crumbling. damn him for that effortlessly adorable face..

“fine, we’ll ask one last time.. but if he says no, you owe me a drink from the vending machine since i paid last time!” you huffed out, tossing your copy back on the the coffee table as you stood up with your hands on your hips.

as though sparkles had appeared in his eyes, zack hopped to his feet before engulfing you in a tight hug. “for real?? you’re the best, y/n!! i love you! i love you! i love you!!”

⌗ ah, the romantic and the one that does too much because everyone else ain’t doing enough ( his words ) — genesis. you can expect a very enigmatic brain scratching confession..

⌗ or in other words, the cheesiest kind of confession that involves poetry, some form of incorporation with loveless, and just some frivolous display of his affections for you in case you don’t pick up on the hints..

“y/n, my dear! won’t you hang back awhile? our work is done for today.. perhaps you’ll indulge me in a piece i worked on, hm?” the redhead spoke up, causing you to pause in your tracks as you blinked over at him.

a piece? “you mean.. poetry?” you inquired for certainty, surprised that he had the spare time to be writing something. “i’m not the best at deciphering metaphors and whatnot.. but i’d be willing to hear what you have.” you smiled, eager to see what he had been working on in his free time.

“not to worry!” he waved you off, pulling out a small notebook from his long coat. “even the foolish and emotionally unintelligent, like our beloved sephiroth could understand!” genesis laughed out, fearless of his friend — or in his eyes, rival — as usual.

you let out a nervous chuckle as you pulled up a chair to hear what he’d prepared, praying that your silver haired friend did not hear.. not that he would care, anyway. just genesis being genesis.. “well um, i’ll do my best to somewhat comprehend what you wrote.” you offered, anyway, placing your hands on your lap as a means of resting them.

the male dressed in crimson took it as a sign to commence, lifting his fist up to clear his throat before holding up his poem. “in a bed of asters, the tears of the goddess.. blossoms a favored one amidst a world or filth and endless disasters — a beauty that wears star formed petals for a bodice..and adorns droplet shaped blades of which its creator once wept.” genesis paused, trailing a finger down to the next line. “one day, a new flower would emerge — tall, scarlet, and proud.. tenderly well kept, and yet.. as sorrowed as a rain cloud.”

you almost wanted to question why, curiosity overtaking you despite the urge to giggle at a few.. choice of words he made. how couldn’t you when it was so reminiscent of the usual reciting he did of his most favorite work of literature.

compelled by your zealousness, you fed into your inquisitiveness. “why was it sorrowed?”

a soft chuckle tumbled past his lips at the awe in your voice as he closed the book with a low hum. “for it was loveless, without its starry accomplice.. that bloomed on a path far away enough to diverge.” he finished gently before sliding a hand to your cheek. “nevertheless, that is but fiction.. as our paths will remain entwined, and my heart shall not bleed with my beloved star around.”

⌗ ah, yes, the confession of his love.. yet another unspoken way of proclaiming his feelings for you, although i believe his method may just be a little more meaningful.. but just a little.

⌗ however, what would call for the confession exactly, and the realization of his feelings? personally, i believe it’d have either been something in the heat of the moment — in other words, you being in danger, or perhaps.. an inquiry, in regards to the buster sword glued to his back.

“earlier..” your began, eyeing your lover with a curious gaze. “that was the first i’d ever seen you draw the buster sword.. for the longest time, i convinced myself it was decorative, or something.. but there’s more to it, isn’t there?”

the rag in angeal’s hand came to a pause at the question, a soft chuckle leaving his lips. “i remember zack asking me that several times before and i still haven’t presented him with a proper answer.” he mused, eyes softening as he gazed upon his weapon. “growing up, my family was not one for riches. we had enough to get by, thankfully, but making money was hard work on my parents — specifically my father.”

a breeze passed through the few strands of hair that frames his face as he gazed upon the sky. “still, he had wanted to gift me something for passing the SOLDIER exam, and had this forged for me.” he smiled gently, closing his eyes. “it took him a very long time to recover financially for his debts in having this buster made, so long that it cost him his very life in the end..” the first class SOLDIER spoke up, allowing his eyes to lower back down to the blade in his hands. “and so, i do my best to avoid bringing any wear, tear or rust upon it.. as it represents not only my dreams and honor, but the efforts and sacrifice for its creation.” he finished steadily, finally meeting your stare. “but for you, i would draw it without a second thought.”

your boyfriend was already impressive to begin with- the most humble and noble person you had come to know.. but this? it had left you in complete awe to know how sentimental he truly was, despite his stoic demeanor. and for him to have used his beloved weapon to shield you from harm — what did that mean? that he.. held you in higher regard than it..?

“you.. you would do that for me?” your inquiry was stupid, as he had done it once already, earlier in fact.. but angeal nodded, regardless, the small smile on his lips expanding, even if it was just a pinch wider.

“if it guarantees your safety.. in a heartbeat.” he answered with little delay, a fondness in his mako tinted eyes — one that he only ever really showed to you.

notes. zack being the only one who actually says i love you verbatim.. meanwhile the others are cryptic and expect you to guess ( cloud.. genesis.. ) or say it without needing to say those three words.. crazy tbh

Can I get a Sephiroth, Zack and Genesis catching his s/o running by them after slapping their ass and just waving before running into the nearest elevator to escape but the elevator is out of order..

Yes, s/o is a female and is the only female SOLDIER. Do whatever what you will with that information.

Zack: At first, he is confused, at who or what the hell slapped his ass. But when he recognized the audible giggle (boi is an auditory learner ok?), it's game on. He'll call out her name with a laugh as he runs after her, his pace quickening when he realizes the elevator is stuck. His s/o was in a panic, her fingers flying across the elevator buttons, as Zack was looming closer. She is so scared, no way she will lose so soon. So she just kept pressing those buttons. This elevator was supposed to be fixed, goddamn it!

But just as the elevator seemed to respond to her input with magical timing, she heard Zack's voice leering her name from behind her, followed by his grin as he lightly returned her slap. His s/o would let out a frustrated huff, reminding him he was supposed to give her a head start. Zack would be confused, pointing out how that's fair when she slapped his ass out of nowhere? The two squabbled for a bit until they both jumped in surprise when they realized they were late for their training with Angeal. Without another moment to spare, they dashed down the hall, the smell of their sweat lingered in the air.

Sephiroth: Like Zack, he would be very confused, and peeved that someone would do that to him. But he'll have the biggest mental facepalm when he catches wind of his speedy s/o's familiar hair color and sweet perfume. But even with her speed, he'd power walk toward her almost as fast as she fumbled unsuccessfully, with the elevator control buttons. His eyes glinted as he flashed a hint of a smirk on his lips. If only his s/o bothered to read the "out of order" sign...

As Sephiroth stepped inside the elevator with her, his s/o would nervously giggle, her hands nervously clasping behind her back. He'll quickly scan his vicinity to make sure there were no onlookers near. Then he'll sternly remind his s/o about his no "PDA" rule, even if seems like no one is nearby. With a playful wink, his s/o remarked that the risk of their relationship being exposed kept things interesting and thrilling. Out of nowhere, Sephiroth roughly grabbed her ass and squeezes it with one hand, pulling her close to him. He spoke in a low, sultry tone, the threat in his words being clear. Do NOT test him. Overwhelmed by a lustful fear, his s/o would meekly obey him, as he chuckles. He'll gently command her to follow him to the briefing room, as they kept Lazard waiting for far too long.

Genesis: A part of him knew it was coming, just not within the Shinra HQ. He and his S/O had been laughing and running around in their mini game of "tag" for some time. They're at even a score now, but one of them gotta break that tie somehow. But to score a point while in a public area is a sneaky and underhanded move. So when Genesis' S/O cheapshotted him in public, he'll chase her down, with or without folks around. He can't allow her to get away with that!

His S/O wouldn't even be in the elevator for a few seconds, as Genesis was hot on her tail. He'd grab her and then give her the hardest slap on the bottom yet. His S/O would be feeling that sting for a little while. She would playfully ask him if he has to hit her so hard, and he would reply with a deadpan yes before laughing his ass off with her. Afterwards, he'll give her a passionate but short kiss and then inquire in a hushed voice if they will ever be able to break away from this tedious tie in their game. With a cheeky smile, she tells him she will never falter. His only response was a small grin. Afterwards, they head to their destination early to prepare for a LOVELESS reading with the Red Leather.

When Rufus Shinra continues operating with barely any oversight, his father decides perhaps assigning him a SOLDIER — under the guise of security — would make him privy to his son’s plans.

He really should have seen this coming.)

It’s a well known fact within Shinra that Rufus is a smug asshole. Even someone as sweet as Zack Fair would admit as much, albeit perhaps with a bit of guilt.

Another well known fact is that the Shinra heir is simply awaiting the moment his father drops dead. Despite the numerous metaphorical chains to stifle him, Rufus merely bides his time and sinks his claws in whatever he can.

More of an open secret than a “known fact,” is that the Administrative Research Department operates independently of Heidegger, despite what it says on paper. The Turks — as they’re called — may be Shinra’s intelligence agency, but ultimately their loyalties are to Rufus Shinra alone.

So it came as a surprise to everyone when President Shinra decided that in the interest of his son’s safety, Rufus’ Turks are not enough. Perhaps to an outsider, this would be seen as nothing more than a father caring for his son, but to anyone else in the company this was Rufus being put on a leash. It meant more eyes to keep watch of whatever dirty tricks the VP might pull. Whoever would be his SOLDIER bodyguard, Director Lazard, and Professor Hojo at the very least would have to report straight to the President on whatever they find.

The Shinra Dining Hall is deadly silent when SOLDIERs First Class Sephiroth, Angeal Hewley, and Genesis Rhapsodos walk in. All eyes are on them, hungry for any clue as to which one of them could have been assigned babysitting duty. Even Cadet Cloud Strife couldn’t resist joining in.

This may be the one thing that unites all Shinra employees. Gossip. Besides, it would be nice to feel better about oneself. Regardless of how much working at Shinra may suck, at least you’re not the poor fool caught between the President and his own son in their battle for power. This sentiment had already been parroted at least four times this morning, and each time bringing more laughs than the last.

The betting pool has more zeroes than Cloud thought possible. Most of the middle managers think Sephiroth is the obvious choice. His loyalty to the company must mean he’d be loyal to the President too, right? On the other hand, the secretaries have unanimously agreed that it would be Angeal Hewley because he’s just so kind and has honor, whatever that means. They’re confident enough in their answer that they’ve already begun plotting ways to assist him, to make it easier for him, you know? Everyone else either threw in random names, (like an underdog story, except instead of winning they lose… because they’d have to babysit Rufus fucking Shinra) or chose Genesis Rhapsodos because the idea of those two within a couple feet of each other at all times is absolutely hilarious.

Part 2 of the Betting Pool is in the instance of Genesis Rhapsodos being selected, who would cry first. Him or Rufus? The votes are split evenly down the middle, that is until Sephiroth passes by and bets on Genesis.

Nobody says a thing. Angeal gives everyone a tight smile, and politely waves goodbye as the two of them walk out.

Thirty seconds later, a huffy Genesis Rhapsodos passes by the same board, and screams. His fury is tamped down when he spills some coffee on himself. Right as he exits, a cheerful voice greets him, “G’morning!”

His salutation is ignored, and the slamming of the doors is a precursor to the noise that returns.

It’s right then that Cloud realizes something. Nobody bothered to vote for the man walking towards him at the moment.

“Heya, Cloud!”

The puppy face is enough to convince Cloud that not even the demon himself could do something so dastardly to Zack Fair.

“Hey, man. Did you hear about the thing?”

Zack’s grin is almost blinding as he throws his arm around Cloud. “Aw man, lemme tell you.” Everyone else is discreetly observing the two. “The SOLDIER common area went wild on that last night.”

This oughta be good.

Thus begun the best week for every non-SOLDIER Shinra employee. The rumor mill showed no signs of slowing down, and everyone else found schadenfreude at the usual cocky SOLDIERs becoming shells of their former selves.

The following Monday, Rufus struts through the lobby with a familiar figure clad in what would be called a typical SOLDIER Third Class uniform, except it’s been customized to be a deep black. A stark contrast to Rufus’ all white ensemble… and an obvious dig at SOLDIER regulations.

Another three things became apparent to any person seeing this new development:

1. Midgar’s number one Bastard* really should have seen this coming.

3. …and Bastard’s actual literal bastard*** just got threatened or blackmailed.

However there was one thing nobody knew the answer to… just how the hell did Rufus get one of his Turks to become an official SOLDIER?!

An angry Heidegger storms through the silent space, headed directly for the Vice President himself. Until he finds his neck on the end of a stiletto dagger. His wide eyes meet deadly, yet apathetic non-mako non-SOLDIER eyes.

“One more step, and I’ll slice your neck clean off.”

The only audible reaction is the receptionist’s squeaky gasp. Though, the shock is clear on everyone else’s face.

Rufus barks a hearty laugh, and lowers your weapon from the poor man’s neck. The touch of his hand on yours a clear display of mutual respect and trust. “Now, now.” At your annoyed look, he merely smirks. “I’m sure Heidegger just wanted to congratulate you on your promotion.” Like a flash went through his face, Rufus levels the man with a menacing stare. “Isn’t that right?”

Before he gets his answer, Rufus leads you towards the elevator. A hushed argument plays between the two of you, but the fond smile on the VP’s face betrays the ruse.

As the elevator doors close, the rumor mill is back in full swing.

Nobody even noticed poor Heidegger fall to his knees.

No worries! I know there are a lot of things to keep in mind when sending a request to me, so it's completely understandable that you miss some aspects. Characters: Angeal Hewley, Sephiroth, Genesis Rhapsodos 

Getting patched up by their SOLDIER!healer!s/o (gn!reader)

Among your fellow SOLDIERs it’s well known that you’re not only a good fighter but also a skilled healer, so it’s not unusual that others ask you to patch them up when they get injured. However, you often tell them to go see a nurse in the hospital ward because there’s really only one person who can count on you to use your healing abilities to help them with their injuries – your boyfriend. 

Angeal Hewley

Angeal is incredibly thankful that you’re always there to patch him up whenever he returns with multiple injuries after a mission. There’s no way he’d take anything you do for him for granted and he always makes sure to thank you once you’re done healing him. If he could, he’d do the same for you but since he’s not half as good with healing magic as you are, he can only do so much when you are injured.

He even goes as far as apologizing for worrying you with his wounds. Angeal knows exactly how much it hurts to see the ones you love injured, so he understands what you’re going through in moments like this. Although he’s well aware that being a SOLDIER can be extremely risky and not even the best fighters can get out of every fight unscathed, he always promises to be more careful next time.

Every so often, Angeal pulls your hands away from his wounds to press a soft kiss to your knuckles or your wrist. That’s his way of thanking you for always taking such good care of him, especially since you probably already have tons of other things on your plate. It really makes him feel incredibly loved that you always take the time to patch him up, no matter how busy or stressed out you are. 

Sephiroth

Before you came into his life, Sephiroth was so used to treating his injuries on his own that he really struggled with accepting your help at first. Like, somehow it felt so wrong for him to just sit there and allow you to patch him up, especially since he knows that others often consider it a weakness to ask someone else for help. But then again, Sephiroth rarely cares about the opinions of others, so that’s something he can ignore fairly easily.

There’s something comforting and soothing about you tending to his wounds. Sometimes, he feels like you’re not only healing his body, but also his soul, as pathetic as it sounds (hence why he would never say something like this out loud), and he really can’t help falling in love with you even more in moments like this. It’s incredibly cheesy but with you, he just knows he’s in good hands.

He absolutely loves watching you when you heal him because the highly focused expression on your face is incredibly adorable, at least in his opinion. Also, it gives him the opportunity to get a better understanding of what you’re doing, especially since he always strives to learn new things and broaden his horizons. 

Genesis Rhapsodos 

Let’s be honest, Genesis is usually way too proud to accept help from others. He’s someone who likes to solve every problem and issue completely on his own, so it’s not unlikely that he tries to hide his injuries from you. It’s not that he doesn’t trust your healing abilities but he’s convinced that he’s more than capable to treat his wounds on his own.

All of that doesn’t mean that he’s not grateful for your help, though. In the end, not even Genesis can deny that your abilities to treat injuries are superior to his which also means that he can return to the battlefield as soon as possible. So, even if he tries to take care of his injuries on his own, it’s not unusual that he comes to you for help. 

You often scold him for being so reckless during fights and he always laughs it off like you just made a really good joke, reassuring you that you have nothing to worry about. Oftentimes, he watches you healing him with that typical cocky smile on his lips because your concern really flatters him – after all, it means that he’s important to you and that you don’t want to lose him, so better don’t expect him to change his behavior.
