I'm testing tiktok's censorship (since calls to action are shifting comments a bit) after over a month of being in baby jail and help?!?!

Motherfuckers aren't allowed on tiktok apparently
#mun post#yay not getting censored for saying palestine#but rip all motherfuckers on tiktok#tiktok censorship#tiktok#in theory your comments can't be removed if you say#free palestine#as of right now on tiktok yipee!!!#i was about to apply to be paid because my voice was a trending audio for 3 years with no pay#but immediately got silenced by staff for speaking the truth#ima monitor my comments under today's post so if you use tiktok - try making watermelon and palestine adjacent comments on that one- ima#see what else gets flagged- it usually auto deletes comments after one exits the video and starts it again btw for those testing#and y e s the calls to action right now are about shifting how to comment to keep footage from staying down#if you got 30k+ test the censoring - doubly if you're about to apply/are eligable to get pay on tiktok facebook youtube or IG#tiktok is mass removing videos for no reason so fingers crossed the shift to comment the truth about palestine under videos that aren't#related will help confuse tiktok's Ai#and other algorithms across the board because there's genuienly people who don't see anymore or haven't seen anything at all

Hey guys, quick PSA on Meta and them using your data for AI training:
Since April 7 this year they have a new privacy policy in place that, if you don't opt-out, will use your:
name
user name, profile picture, description
avatar
reels
photos and their descriptions
comments
from Instagram, your
name
user name, profile picture
avatar
posts
activity in public groups, channels, on public pages
comments
reviews and posts on Facebook marketplace
from Facebook, and your
profile picture, status
avatar
descriptions of groups / channels you created and joined
any conversations you held with Meta AI
any group chats you added Meta AI to
in WhatsApp to train their Meta AI models.
This change will start on May 27th, setting the deadline to the 26th to decline to their use of data.
How do you opt out? Meta provided two opt-out forms for that:
For Facebook, fill out this form,
For Instagram there is this one,
For WhatsApp, use this link and then pick the "Data Subject Rights Form" (translation may vary). Then pick the third option. Read through the links they gave you (or don't) and at the bottom select "I want to make an objection". Then fill out with your Email address and Phone number used for WhatsApp. Pick a real E-Mail address, they get back to you. You will have to explain yourself to them. If you are from the EU and need a template try the following:
I am exercising my rights under Article 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to object to the processing of my personal data on the basis of legitimate interests.
I also object to the use of any of my data for AI training purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, the collection, storage, analysis, profiling, sharing, and any other form of processing of my personal data as stated in your privacy policy.
The processing under "legitimate interests" affects my fundamental rights to privacy and data protection as guaranteed under the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (Articles 7 and 8). Specifically, it impacts my right to control how and when my personal data is used, shared, and profiled without my explicit consent.
I request that you immediately cease all processing activities related to my personal data where "legitimate interests" is the basis. I request any of this data to be deleted. Furthermore, I request that you confirm in writing that these activities have been ceased and data has been deleted.
This is just thrown together in hopes that it sounds like I know my stuff. If you are not from the EU, try reading through it anyways, compare the articles stated in my template with something from your country. Usually there's always a loophole if you look hard enough.
For Facebook and Instagram you have to be logged in with an account to use these forms, but once you are logged in, you can enter any email you want to. If you have multiple accounts, click the link multiple times, one for each email address.
You just need to log in to one account, not all of them.
You don't need to provide a reason.
They should auto-accept your request and send you an Email with confirmation.
Edit: WhatsApp Link Edit edit: WhatsApp Link (again) and template I used

Just encountered something that made me so viscerally mad I had to stop everything I was doing and scream about it into the void (you are the void, tumblr, thank you for your time)
Ever seen that little test tube icon at the top of your Google search? That's Search Labs.

This led me to reading about all the "experiments" they have going on and OH BOY, this is the one that got me mad enough to actually leave feedback (bear in mind I like NEVER leave comments or reviews on things so you know it's bad)

Of all the "experiments" they are launching with their Search Labs, this one is the most egregiously transparent attempt to capitalize on the human brain's superiority over a computer's.
I see what they are doing.
"Look at these auto generated images and try your best to tell us what you think the original prompt is! Teehee, isn't this a fun test? Don't you want to have fun?? Play our game, uwu".
This is about as blatant as you can get: they want to train their Ai to get better at generating its frankly often garbage results by using real people to tell it how it could have done better.
My guess as to why Google is even doing this: ◽️Let’s say you use of one of Google's programs to generate an image based on your own personal written prompt (I know YOU wouldn't, fair tumblr user, but stay with me here)
◽️You are subsequently frustrated at the slop Google generated for you, and select a button that says something along the lines of "I am not satisfied with this result".
◽️This auto-triggers something on Google's end, which I assume captures this response along with the image it is attached to.
◽️Now, they can put that picture in front of thousands of unwitting people who can tell Google EXACTLY what "prompt" they associate with that image instead. Exactly the words that it SHOULD be tagged with.
These pieces of ai "art" are NOT good, let me make that clear. What financial benefit would Google have to present a panel of testers with perfectly generated images? To make this game in the first place? The only way ai can advance is when humans tell it what it did wrong. Because the computer doesn't fucking know what a raven vs a writing-desk is. It needs us to give it the words to think. Poor baby gets confused when we are vague. :(
All this under the guise of a cutesy little "test". A "game".
This is not fun, and it is extremely scummy. Do better Google. Be better. I'm attaching some screenshots of the first "level" so you too can enjoy the art of prompting!!! (she says with so much dry sarcasm the Deserts of Arrakis spontaneously turn into an ocean)

And to have the audacity to show the actual real pieces of art made by real artists that they trained this stupid machine with. Fuck entirely off.
#as an artist this makes me absolutely furious and i hope you are as well#its the assumption that we aren't smart enough to see through the ruse that really fucking gets me#wow this is worthless!#fuck ai#fuck google#fuck all the techbros#fuck the whole goddamn system#rant#ai#artificial intelligence#google

DAY 6274
Jalsa, Mumbai Aopr 20, 2025 Sun 11:17 pm
🪔 ,
April 21 .. birthday greetings and happiness to Ef Mousumi Biswas .. and Ef Arijit Bhattacharya from Kolkata .. 🙏🏽❤️🚩.. the wishes from the Ef family continue with warmth .. and love 🌺
The AI debate became the topic of discussion on the dining table ad there were many potent points raised - bith positive and a little indifferent ..
The young acknowledged it with reason and able argument .. some of the mid elders disagreed mildly .. and the end was kind of neutral ..
Blessed be they of the next GEN .. their minds are sorted out well in advance .. and why not .. we shall not be around till time in advance , but they and their progeny shall .. as has been the norm through generations ...
The IPL is now the greatest attraction throughout the day .. particularly on the Sunday, for the two on the day .. and there is never a debate on that ..
🤣
.. and I am most appreciative to read the comments from the Ef on the topic of the day - AI .. appreciative because some of the reactions and texts are valid and interesting to know .. the aspect expressed in all has a legitimate argument and that is most healthy ..
I am happy that we could all react to the Blog contents in the manner they have done .. my gratitude .. such a joy to get different views , valid and meaningful ..
And it is not the end of the day or the debate .. some impressions of the Gen X and some from the just passed Gen .. and some that were never ever the Gen are interesting as well :
The Printing Press (15th Century)
Fear: Scribes, monks, and elites thought it would destroy the value of knowledge, lead to mass misinformation, and eliminate jobs. Reality: It democratized knowledge, spurred the Renaissance and Reformation, and created entirely new industries—publishing, journalism, and education.
⸻
Industrial Revolution (18th–19th Century)
Fear: Machines would replace all human labor. The Luddites famously destroyed machinery in protest. Reality: Some manual labor jobs were displaced, but the economy exploded with new roles in manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and management. Overall employment and productivity soared.
⸻
Automobiles (Early 20th Century)
Fear: People feared job losses for carriage makers, stable hands, and horseshoe smiths. Cities worried about traffic, accidents, and social decay. Reality: The car industry became one of the largest employers in the world. It reshaped economies, enabled suburbia, and created new sectors like travel, road infrastructure, and auto repair.
⸻
Personal Computers (1980s)
Fear: Office workers would be replaced by machines; people worried about becoming obsolete. Reality: Computers made work faster and created entire industries: IT, software development, cybersecurity, and tech support. It transformed how we live and work.
⸻
The Internet (1990s)
Fear: It would destroy jobs in retail, publishing, and communication. Some thought it would unravel social order. Reality: E-commerce, digital marketing, remote work, and the creator economy now thrive. It connected the world and opened new opportunities.
⸻
ATMs (1970s–80s)
Fear: Bank tellers would lose their jobs en masse. Reality: ATMs handled routine tasks, but banks actually hired more tellers for customer service roles as they opened more branches thanks to reduced transaction costs.
⸻
Robotics & Automation (Factory work, 20th century–today)
Fear: Mass unemployment in factories. Reality: While some jobs shifted or ended, others evolved—robot maintenance, programming, design. Productivity gains created new jobs elsewhere.
The fear is not for losing jobs. It is the compromise of intellectual property and use without compensation. This case is slightly different.
I think AI will only make humans smarter. If we use it to our advantage.
That’s been happening for the last 10 years anyway
Not something new
You can’t control that in this day and age
YouTube & User-Generated Content (mid-2000s onward)
Initial Fear: When YouTube exploded, many in the entertainment industry panicked. The fear was that copyrighted material—music, TV clips, movies—would be shared freely without compensation. Creators and rights holders worried their content would be pirated, devalued, and that they’d lose control over distribution.
What Actually Happened: YouTube evolved to protect IP and monetize it through systems like Content ID, which allows rights holders to:
Automatically detect when their content is used
Choose to block, track, or monetize that usage
Earn revenue from ads run on videos using their IP (even when others post it)
Instead of wiping out creators or studios, it became a massive revenue stream—especially for musicians, media companies, and creators. Entire business models emerged around fair use, remixes, and reactions—with compensation built in.
Key Shift: The system went from “piracy risk” to “profit partner,” by embracing tech that recognized and enforced IP rights at scale.
This lead to higher profits and more money for owners and content btw
You just have to restructure the compensation laws and rewrite contracts
It’s only going to benefit artists in the long run
Yes
They can IP it
That is the hope
It’s the spread of your content and material without you putting a penny towards it
Cannot blindly sign off everything in contracts anymore. Has to be a lot more specific.
Yes that’s for sure
“Automation hasn’t erased jobs—it’s changed where human effort goes.”
Another good one is “hard work beats talent when talent stops working hard”
Which has absolutely nothing to with AI right now but 🤣
These ladies and Gentlemen of the Ef jury are various conversational opinions on AI .. I am merely pasting them for a view and an opinion ..
And among all the brouhaha about AI .. we simply forgot the Sunday well wishers .. and so ..

my love and the length be of immense .. pardon

A billion dollar media company just placed a copyright claim on a recent video I posted on FB/IG. I pay to license every clip and song I use. I make $0 from any of these platforms. I make videos at a loss because I love telling stories. But a giant media company is claiming ownership over a free video that i paid a giant media company for the right to make. Meta's notification was beyond unhelpful. It doesn't say which video was claimed. Doesn't say which song or clip in that video was the basis of the claim so I can replace it. It doesn't say how to appeal the claim, only that I have 7 days to do so. It doesn't say what will happen if the claim is successful. Presumably they'll just claim ad revenue from it, which would be unfair, but also meaningless because THE PLATFORM ALREADY DOESN'T PAY ME. They can't steal what they already weren't giving me. But there's something profoundly insulting about me paying a company money so I can make something I don't get paid for, that they'll lie about to another company that isn't paying me, so they can take the money I would have been paid if anyone involved in this process cared at all. And the process is automated to give the illusion that I have any say in it at all. The truth is that I do not matter to these companies. The giant media company doesn't know I exist. An unsupervised AI was installed to print them free money by filing auto-generated content claims that have zero repercussions for false positives. Meta already isn't paying me, and I'll eat my hat if they reply to my message with any meaningful solution. I am lucky that my followers do care. I am lucky that when the system is reminding me how little I matter, I get comments and DMs and emails from people who believe in the value of what I do. That's why I haven't left this platform, and why I'll probably keep making videos for the benefit of giant companies who don't know I exist but are still making money from it. So I guess this is me saying thank you for treating my stories like they matter. Most days I believe that they do, and it's because of you.

im being attacked by new ideas!! okay so here is slightly canon compliant sci-fi au where its about the seventh age and elves lives among humans in the modern world now, and tyelpe attached what's remains of mairon’s spirit (either accidentally or intentionally) onto one of those little ball shaped pet monitor robots.
now it's got big orange cartoon eyes to show emotion and tiny wheels to move around, and gives tyelpe sarcastic comments about his life, full judgement.
“this study is even messier than your forge!! O^O#”
Tyelpe carries him around on his shoulder or in his hoodie pocket and tells others he's a new ai he’s working on
imagine tiny robot mairon accidentally rolls off the table and just goes “TYELPEEEEE!!!! QAQ!!”
or he demands tyelpe to put a book in front of him and flip the pages for him so he can learn about the seventh age (tyelpe eventually got him a auto scroll e-book app)
and maybe he would smugly exclaim “you know im married right? happily! U^U*”
“WHAT?! with who?!”
“i thought it was obvious!! @ n@#”
and that's how tyelpe ended up having to break it to him that the modern people did studies on the void and found no signs of consciousness, the theory is that melkor eventually dissolved into the void and became one with it.
the tiny robot was silent for a long time before replying “ O_O …. I see… ; _ ; ”
awww imagine tiny mairon just silently rolls into tyelpe’s hand and rubs for comfort during quiet nights bc i just remembered the feanorians are still not back bc they were never pardoned except for maglor and we don’t even know if he would come back at this point or still in self exile
i think tyelpe meets elrond and maybe finrod for tea regularly (maybe even revived gil-galad) and they all just stare at him (mairon)
mairon cant even eat he doesn’t have a real mouth but he still joins them and pretend he’s sipping
elrond:” why did you have to bring your cursed tamagotchi??”
i see those little robots all over tiktok when people get them for their long distance partners or families to control over and speak through the microphone and it’s basically just a little apple sized ball with tiny wheels and a screen and i just have to!!! (apparently they are called ebo robots, the ones im picturing specifically are ebo pros)

AU where Shen Yuan was originally an AI. Not a futuristic sci-fi self-aware one either, one of our current fancy auto-complete word generators, trained on internet comments and sent out by someone with too much time and money to mess with people. When the building the servers holding the neural network are in floods, the AI ‘dies’ — only for a System, only looking at the comments to try and find a replacement for a villain it didn’t expect to die so early, to grab it and stuff it into a human brain. This takes some time to get used to.

Church of Null is definitely using AI for its songs... not even gonna twiddle my thumbs with the "maybes" anymore :^P
After being convinced Church of Null is using Suno AI despite the song generator artist's claim that it isn't AI, I did further research by.. gag... making a Suno AI account to look more closely at MD generated songs on the platform, including their voices.
I found two accounts that, while I don't think that they're Electrical Ink, are certainly in the same vein and later on were inspired by them. They're perfect examples of Suno AI voices, compositions, and lyrics that are incredibly similar to all Church of Null songs.
The first is The Solver, who was making MD AI songs before Electrical Ink, but who is too Uzi focused to make me think they're the same person. (click read more to check the comparisons out).
First MD AI song on the account (Oct 2) , the first one uploaded by Electrical Ink was Oct 7th
First Cyn song on their Suno (Oct 16)
This voice vs. Electrical Ink's Jax song
This AI N song with the same voice as Church of Null's N song, but the Suno AI generated one came first (Oct vs. Dec)
This account starts making church themed Cyn/Cyn worship songs in Nov, but it's possible these were inspired by the Church of Null ones (a few of the early songs did get 50k+ views). Here's one of them.
The second is supreme_solver, who made a handful of Cyn heavy AI songs, including one referencing Church of Null. This account made their first MD song on Oct 20th. They made a Church of Null song on Nov 11th, using the same male AI voice on many of the Church of Null songs.
Nothing will give you an ear for AI generated music and lyrical habits like listening to them for like, two hours. Kill me.
The Church of Null songs are, definitively, 100%, AI generated songs, and Electrical Ink is just a plain ol' internet liar who didn't want to be dismissed or demeaned for using AI. But, I think lying about it is worse than just using it and owning up to it. And pretending to have 6 friends/“coworkers” who adore your fic and help with it and the songs when really it’s just a bot churning AI slop out is incredibly depressing.
Also, Electrical Ink appears to have manually comment moderation on, meaning only comments manually allowed will show. I thought it was a word filter for AI words, but no comment I make shows up when I'm logged out, so comments aren't being auto approved, meaning manual is turned on (that's how you check if your comment was removed/not posted; it will show to you if logged in, but will be gone when logged out/viewed by others). So, if anybody were to suggest AI, it would be unlikely to be approved (mine asking 'Suno' 3 days ago was not).
Okay. I'm done with this sleuthing now :P don't think anybody cares much about CoN anyways. But what a load of AI dude-bro tomfuckery. I'm tired of AI people playing pretend to get headpats and taking up spots from real human musicians and artisans, then blatantly lying to your face about it (lookin at u, DA AI spam accounts, and AI slop farms on Spotify).
#murder drones#church of null#suno ai#ai#cyn#serial designation n#jax#they may only have 5k subs but the view counts on some are quite decent. and then lying about making them by hand. no.#originally i thought at least the lyrics must be hand written. but after looking at suno lyrics over and over... i rescind that#theyre all formulaic robo lyrics- MAYBE spruced by a little human intervention- but still generic robo slop#i also uuuggh used it to see if the voice would come out the same. you just type sweet male voice for that voice..#literally anybody who tests Suno for 30 minutes could tell these songs are all AI. it’s sad.

Chloe sat in the large, empty room; on the floor cross legged, her long silvery hair spilling around her artfully. When Gord saw her, he rather thought it was a little too set up. She had arranged herself to look as serene as possible. He stood a respectful distance away, arms crossed, waiting.
"You might as well just ask what you're going to ask" Chloe said, without opening her eyes. "I'm never going to be able to reach inner peace with you standing over there, metaphorically tapping your foot"
Gord uncrossed his arms, awkwardly. "I... was going to ask if you'd show me how to meditate," he, said sheepishly.
Chloe opened one eye and regarded Gord. "Really." she said, flatly.
"Yes, don't sound too surprised. You've been meditating since you came back, and it really seems to help you. I remember you... before, and you were a lot more hot headed."
Before she was killed, and Gord carried her memory core in a duffle along with one hundred some odd others for a few centuries he meant. It made for odd relationships with all the AIs that he brought back. Chloe was an old friend even before that, so it felt especially odd.
Chloe nodded without opening her eyes. "Well then come on, sit down."
Gord got down onto the floor and sat across from Chloe. He folded his legs to match hers. One of the benefits to the bodies that were built for the AIs was they didn't have to worry about the same kind of biological degradation that the BIs had. Gord was just as flexible now as he was when he first got this body.
"Okay, now what?"
"Close your eyes."
Gord did as he was told. He tried hard not to feel silly, and only mostly succeeded.
"Okay, now what?"
"Now, think about nothing." Chloe tried to hide it, but a slight grin escaped her lips when she spoke.
"That's it?" Gord opened one eye and looked at Chloe. Her eyes were still closed, and she was still sitting serenely.
"That's it. But remember, Gord. Simple and Easy are two different things."
Gord sat and tried to think about nothing. He tried to concentrate on his body, how he was feeling, how the deck plates felt on his thighs and bottom. He listened to the HVAC hum in the room. Hmm. that sounded too loud. Gord would have to reach out to Environmental to see about them coming by to check on things. No, he's not thinking of nothing. Back to nothing, back to nothing. There was a click from the lock on the door. That's odd. It shouldn't auto lock like that unless Chloe configured it that way. She was right, this was hard. He opened his eyes, and saw Chloe standing over him, her hands on her hips.
"It takes practice, you'll get it." She reached out her hand to Gord. He took it and stood up. "What did you need? While I'm pleased that you're interested in meditation, I don't think that's the only reason you stopped by."
Gord nodded. "It's Fen. Reports are coming in that she's acting... odd since Northern died."
Chloe raised an eyebrow. "I won't comment that you're still getting regular reports on the current Empress of humanity, but will only say 'Odd how?'"
They started walking. Home was still pretty empty, but it was filling up more every day. New AIs were being built - not just the ones from Gord's supply of crystal memory cores, but whole new people - something that hasn't been done in nearly half a millennia. Chloe found that was was pleased to be seeing so many new faces.
"She's taking more trips out in her Imperial yacht, linking from site to site and making official visits." Gord said as they walked.
"So?"
"Yeah, but she never did it before. She's linking everywhere as well, even while the imperials are on a Gate building spree. They're putting them up everywhere. Rumor is she's traveling with a whole lab of K'laxi scientists too.
"Gord, I know you're not racist, so why is that odd? She was raised K'laxi, remember? It's her first language. I would think it would be more odd if she didn't have K'laxi around."
"It's more-" Gord struggled with the words, something that rarely happened to him. "-it's a feeling, I guess. I knew Fen when she was still with her first wife on that Gren station, just a refugee looking for purpose." His shoulders drooped. "She isn't the same person as she was."
"Nobody ever is, Gord. You know this better than most." Chloe's voice was softer, less cold than Gord remembered from before. "You've lived - actually been alive - longer than probably anyone else ever. You've seen so many people grow, live, change, live more, and die than anyone else will."
"That's my point. I have seen maybe millions of people grow and change in their lives, and what Fen is doing isn't what other people do."
"Well, few other people have been marinated in trillions of alien nanomachines from another dimension who are constantly searching for energy and give her frankly worryingly powerful abilities."
Gord chuckled. "Fair point. I only ever spent real time with Raaden and now Fen. There were a few others, one or two that I actually spoke with, but I never got to know them, and Fen is the first one I got to know before..." He frowned again. "I don't like it."
"At least she's doing things for AI rights. It's been too long since we've seen people who give more than a passing glance to us, and it's not a look of disgust." Chloe nodded and waved to a few people as they walked. They were approaching the main habitat of Home, and the crowds were getting thicker.
"Yes, that's all true, but-" Gord sighed. "I don't know. I can't really articulate it, and when I try it comes off as a hunch or a feeling. I'll think on it more."
"Maybe the meditiation will help." Chloe patted his shoulder once and turned, to go a different way down the hall. Gord continued on until he reached his office and sat. The paperwork was piling up again. He was hoping to be able to find an assistant to help him at least sort the piles into things he could safely ignore and things he actually had to read, but there weren't enough people yet. Gord was on his own to do his own paperwork.
As he read, and sighed, and marked up docs, and sent them off for revisions and political replies, his pad chirruped at him. It was a notification from one of his... operatives in Sol. Text only and sent via laser beacon at tremendous expense. Regular messages were sent via the standard postal lasers. To use a beacon meant they didn't want anyone else to see the message.
3RD FLEET DEPARTING SOL WITH YACHT AT HEAD. LOCATION UNKNOWN, BUT FLEET SPENT LAST WEEK STOCKING UP. ALL SHIPS LOADED FOR LONG TERM ENGAGEMENT
Gord read the message three times, willing his mind to try and make sense of it. The third fleet was the smallest, but was also the one with the newest ships. It was usually an expeditionary fleet, not an attack fleet. What do do? He didn't want to lose his asset to discovery, but he also had to know where they were going.
TRACK THEIR LINK AND PROVIDE DESTINATION ESTIMATE AFTER THEY DEPART. DO NOT FOLLOW.
Tracking the wormhole link was a tricky thing, and he was honestly surprised it was possible at all. When the wormhole generators were first developed, the destination of a link was known only to the ship going. These days, people can do a deep, probing scan of the area the ships were in and try and read the... echos of the wormhole. It wasn't completely accurate, but it usually got you to the same star system.
Half a day later, and Gord was getting ready for his shift on the Command Deck. Most of the senior AIs took turns being "in charge" of Home, but none of them really wanted to be known as the captain or commander. They felt it was much more like a shift leader or a manager. As he approached the command room, his pad chirruped again. He glanced down at the message.
LINK TRACKING COMPLETE. DESTINATION UNEXPLORED PART OF GALAXY. ESTIMATED COORDINATED INCLUDED. HISTORICAL TELESCOPE DATA REVEALS MASSIVE ENERGY SOURCE. PULSAR, MAGNETAR, OR SIMILAR.
Gord stared at the notification until one of the sensor officers, a new AI that Gord didn't recognize right away, spoke up. "Uh Gord? You all right?"
Blinking, Gord looked up from his pad. "Yes, uh, just got a notification while I was walking in." He looked down at the pad. "Say, can you pull up historical data based on coordinates?"
"Sure Gord. If we have something up to date, we can get it in a few minutes. Older data will take longer to search. We can always link a beacon ove-"
"No. No beacon for now. Just tell me what we know about these coordinates."
The young officer nodded. "Yes sir."
An hour later, they spoke up. "Gord? Those coordinates are way out there. Nobody we know has ever visited them in person. Hell, Jones and I are only 75% sure we could generate the power to link that far away."
"Jones?"
"He works in Reactor. I know him from playing pool."
"Ah. Please, continue."
"Anyway, it's way out there, and from what we can tell there's a really massive energy source there. Telescopes haven't tried, and nobody linked a beacon over there, but it's something."
"I wish Hat was still around." Gord said, frowning. Medicine Hat was his oldest friend and his ship. They were together for literal centuries, traveling the Galaxy. Hat was destroyed by Imperial forces back at the beginning of the AI war, and had refused Gords offer to taking a snap of his memory. His last act was to toss Gord into an escape pod and kick him out before blowing his reactor to slow down an Imperial Dreadnought.
The crew sat in silence, waiting to see if Gord was going to say anything else. He sat in his chair sullenly, not looking at anything. Slowly the crew turned back to their duties.
"Dammit!" Gord slapped the arms of the chair and stood up. "Chloe!"
"Yes Gord?" Chloe's voice came over the intercom.
"Get us a ship. You and I are going to see what Fen's up to."
"...Okay Gord. Meet me in the hangar in an hour."

🍪 general dni material applies, i don't tolerate racism/homophobia/transphobia/zionism/ableism and all the isms that make people feel like shit for their identities .
🍪 AI """Artists""",,, Any AI """art""" I see on Tumblr, no matter how rare it is to come by, the blog the """art""" is uploaded to WILL be blocked without warning.
🍪 If I blocked you without notice, it means you are on my blacklist for either pissing me or my partner off, or if you are problematic. I do not tolerate people who are insanely problematic and harmful to others. If you genuinely piss me off, or are unironically a shithead, fuck off.
🍪 Anyone who hornyposts about Beastars without understanding anything about the source material (LOOKING AT YOU BEASTARS TWT), one of my partners is committed to one of the characters in the franchise, and if I see anything disregarding the unique aspects of the characters to go "OMG SEXYYYY", you will be blocked without notice. Not only that, the experience of Beastarstwt has made me grown dislike towards the fandom and has alienated me from interacting with that side of said fandom. I know Beastars Tumblr isn't like this, but just for mine and yours' safety, I am still listing this as a DNI.
🍪 MINORS WHO POST SEXUALLY-CONCERNING CONTENT REGARDLESS IF IT'S A FETISH OR NOT,,, the lower the age, the worse it gets for me,,, if you are 16/17 and are completely sfw,,, it's ok, but if you are less than 16 and/or post NSFW content as a minor, get out. I went down a bad rabbit hole which led me to creating this DNI. ANY AGE LESS THAN 16 I NOTICE WILL BE BLOCKED WITHOUT WARNING.
⚠MY LITTLE SHITLIT, MELVIN⚠
All arts by @melomelomuskmelon💜💜💜
⚠ As you should tell,, Melvin is my fursona/OC/Beastars OC/Whatever,,, made out of source separation to reconcile from drama fallout,, ⚠ FANARTS ARE APPRECIATED, however ANY NSFW of him is prohibited unless approved! Melvin really means a lot to me as a primary OC so any disregard/disrespect of him as a source-separation character I witness will be blocked without notice.
I mostly am not gonna be posting much here, in fear of meltdown drama once again, so reblogs and comments are gonna be quite common. With that being said,,,

DRAGON AGE ORIGINS MODS GUIDE (for the first time player)
i made this for a friend of mine, but figured there might be more people that want to get into the series after the dav trailer.
this list aims a close to vanilla experience, with some fixes and qol stuff. Obviously a lot is still based on personal preference. It does not include big changes to the combat, new items, new companions or quests, overhauls, visual changes to characters*, or big retexture projects. Of course pick and chose whatever sounds good to you, but I highly recommend the ones I put under essential.
*besides removal of various boob armor All of the below should be compatible , read descriptions if you need to do something extra for them to be.
Essentials
4gb patch: you basically need this to run the game without constant crashes. Any of these should work: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=233222451 OR https://ntcore.com/4gb-patch/ OR https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/5989
Dialogue fixes: Back in my day we used : https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/1120 plus https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/928 it looks like more recently this mod has superseded it though https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4689
Camp chest : https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/61 a chest in your camp to put your shit in (the game gives you a party chest eventually in a dlc but its in a stupid location you will never use)
fixes for awakening: this expansion is very buggy. get this: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/5944 as well as all the ones under the "recommended awakening fixes" section (read description to get details about compatibility) fix for dlc items that won't transfer to awakening https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/5354 (i used the old version of this mod, but this seems ok . if it doesn't just search for the title on nexus and download the version that doesn't say updated)
Optionals
Utility:
Unlock specializations https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/316 specializations are unlocked through playing the game. But once unlocked they are unlocked across all playthroughs. This auto unlocks all. If you want to rp learning the specializations as you go, don't install it. but it's fully possible to miss unlocks.
Two specializations sten : one of your companions is nerfed by nto being allowed to have a second specialization for some reason. this fixes that https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/486
Respec: it's respec https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/14
Advanced Tactics: lets you configure the companions ai more precisely https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/181
Auto Loot: it's auto loot https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/28 -> the comments on this imply some issues but i dont remember any problems use at your discretion. might need to use https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/5172 to not loot your party chest. idk i had no problems with this mod but now im unsure.
Gift guide : https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/385 people slightly overstate the importance of gifts in dao. In the original game you couldn't actually get a lot of approval from gifts , but there was a joke dlc that effectively lets you buy as many gifts that give plus 10 approval as you want which kind of ruined the system. I mostly recommend this mod bc there are a few gifts that have dialogue attached, and i feel like using vanilla gifts just feels better than generic dlc ones. Anyway i know who wants what by heart but it might be good for a first run
more random encounters: frankly i used another mod for this but i cant find it anymore, but comments imply it works https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4052?tab=files its not essential but there are a few enconters with a pretty rare possibility
Vanity:
Hip Sheath: I just like it :) https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4654
No helmet hack: you dont want to look silly in cutscenes , do you ? https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/202
icons project: give stuff unique icons :) https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/826
Proportion fixes: I always use them personally because I don't like how characters look in dao but more improtantly this optionally makes the light armor unisex. https://www.moddb.com/mods/tmp7704/downloads/dwarf-proportions https://www.moddb.com/mods/tmp7704/downloads/human-female-proportions-fix https://www.moddb.com/mods/tmp7704/downloads/efl-proportions (note each has multiple options you only are supposed to use one of course)
Neutral Female armor: no more boob armor https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4462 (has compability files with the above) (unisex light armor available in the proportion fix mod) (this is essential TO ME)
remove boob patches for mage robes https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/3962
Dog
Extra Dog slot: you get a dog in the game. he takes up a full companion slot. he is not very strong and gets not much extra dialogue so there is almost no reason to take him along generally. Extra slot just lets you take him along for free https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/664
Extended Dog Talents: at some point the dog will keep leveling with no skills to gain, this fixes that https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/1361 now your dog can be op (not really)
dog gifts: dog already has gifts, but since he loves you no matter what theyre kind of useless. now they give stat boosts. https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/635 now your dog can be op (still not really)
recd with caveat….:https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4659
this is primarily a bi mod and it is good for that, but what i like most about it that it removes gender restrictions on random dialogues. The caveat is that frankly i dont think this should be used on a first playthrough as it includes non-canon content that will not import to da2 and might cause issues(if you don't care about da2 imports, go ahead). But that's just the big choices, so if yo uwant the gender neutral dialogue it is still worth getting… the way i personally use it is remove the Morrigan and Anora folders if i play female bc i don't want those options available to me for rp. if you play male just don't romance Alistair i think that's the only big change. 3.4 version should be used to be compatible with dialogue fix pack. When I tested this now it made the game not load there is probably a way to make it compatible but not worth it for first time player.

One phrase encapsulates the methodology of nonfiction master Robert Caro: Turn Every Page. The phrase is so associated with Caro that it’s the name of the recent documentary about him and of an exhibit of his archives at the New York Historical Society. To Caro it is imperative to put eyes on every line of every document relating to his subject, no matter how mind-numbing or inconvenient. He has learned that something that seems trivial can unlock a whole new understanding of an event, provide a path to an unknown source, or unravel a mystery of who was responsible for a crisis or an accomplishment. Over his career he has pored over literally millions of pages of documents: reports, transcripts, articles, legal briefs, letters (45 million in the LBJ Presidential Library alone!). Some seemed deadly dull, repetitive, or irrelevant. No matter—he’d plow through, paying full attention. Caro’s relentless page-turning has made his work iconic.
In the age of AI, however, there’s a new motto: There’s no need to turn pages at all! Not even the transcripts of your interviews. Oh, and you don’t have to pay attention at meetings, or even attend them. Nor do you need to read your mail or your colleagues’ memos. Just feed the raw material into a large language model and in an instant you’ll have a summary to scan. With OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and Anthropic’s Claude as our wingmen, summary reading is what now qualifies as preparedness.
LLMs love to summarize, or at least that’s what their creators set them about doing. Google now “auto-summarizes” your documents so you can “quickly parse the information that matters and prioritize where to focus.” AI will even summarize unread conversations in Google Chat! With Microsoft Copilot, if you so much as hover your cursor over an Excel spreadsheet, PDF, Word doc, or PowerPoint presentation, you’ll get it boiled down. That’s right—even the condensed bullet points of a slide deck can be cut down to the … more essential stuff? Meta also now summarizes the comments on popular posts. Zoom summarizes meetings and churns out a cheat sheet in real time. Transcription services like Otter now put summaries front and center, and the transcription itself in another tab.
Why the orgy of summarizing? At a time when we’re only beginning to figure out how to get value from LLMs, summaries are one of the most straightforward and immediately useful features available. Of course, they can contain errors or miss important points. Noted. The more serious risk is that relying too much on summaries will make us dumber.
Summaries, after all, are sketchy maps and not the territory itself. I’m reminded of the Woody Allen joke where he zipped through War and Peace in 20 minutes and concluded, “It’s about Russia.” I’m not saying that AI summaries are that vague. In fact, the reason they’re dangerous is that they’re good enough. They allow you to fake it, to proceed with some understanding of the subject. Just not a deep one.
As an example, let’s take AI-generated summaries of voice recordings, like what Otter does. As a journalist, I know that you lose something when you don’t do your own transcriptions. It’s incredibly time-consuming. But in the process you really know what your subject is saying, and not saying. You almost always find something you missed. A very close reading of a transcript might allow you to recover some of that. Having everything summarized, though, tempts you to look at only the passages of immediate interest—at the expense of unearthing treasures buried in the text.
Successful leaders have known all along the danger of such shortcuts. That’s why Jeff Bezos, when he was CEO of Amazon, banned PowerPoint from his meetings. He famously demanded that his underlings produce a meticulous memo that came to be known as a “6-pager.” Writing the 6-pager forced managers to think hard about what they were proposing, with every word critical to executing, or dooming, their pitch. The first part of a Bezos meeting is conducted in silence as everyone turns all 6 pages of the document. No summarizing allowed!
To be fair, I can entertain a counterargument to my discomfort with summaries. With no effort whatsoever, an LLM does read every page. So if you want to go beyond the summary, and you give it the proper prompts, an LLM can quickly locate the most obscure facts. Maybe one day these models will be sufficiently skilled to actually identify and surface those gems, customized to what you’re looking for. If that happens, though, we’d be even more reliant on them, and our own abilities might atrophy.
Long-term, summary mania might lead to an erosion of writing itself. If you know that no one will be reading the actual text of your emails, your documents, or your reports, why bother to take the time to dig up details that make compelling reading, or craft the prose to show your wit? You may as well outsource your writing to AI, which doesn’t mind at all if you ask it to churn out 100-page reports. No one will complain, because they’ll be using their own AI to condense the report to a bunch of bullet points. If all that happens, the collective work product of a civilization will have the quality of a third-generation Xerox.
As for Robert Caro, he’s years past his deadline on the fifth volume of his epic LBJ saga. If LLMs had been around when he began telling the president’s story almost 50 years ago—and he had actually used them and not turned so many pages—the whole cycle probably would have been long completed. But not nearly as great.

so these screenshots originally posted by Karyu Tekre over on Discord show why you should never use auto-translators or AI to translate Na'vi: it's pretty much always wrong.
In these images we see ChatGPT and Google Translate attempt to give a translation for the comment following comment:
ma Wllìm, pelun ngal zene Tekreti steykivi?
The correct translation for this phrase should be this:
Wllìm, why must you make Tekre angry?
(...or, well, technically the original sentence should've used nga instead of ngal; the -L ending gets dropped in modal constructions (with some rare exceptions), that's the grammar mistake Tekre mentions in the first ChatGPT image...which, as you can see, the AI failed to correctly identify.)
But instead of this, Google and ChatGPT give us a whole variety of incorrect answers:
"ma Wllìm, with whom do you stay?" "but Wllìm, where did you live?" "but Wllìm, with this zene Tekreti stayed" "William, why do you need to close the door?" "William, why do you keep telling the same stories?"
...as you can see, none of those are even remotely close to the correct answer, nor are they even consistent!
ChatGPT seems to do ok-ish when asked for single words—it got most (but not all) of the individual definitions correct—but once it tries to put those words into full sentences or explain the grammar, everything falls apart and it starts spouting absolute nonsense.
basically, it's absolute crap for translating full sentences or learning grammar, might be ok-ish for translating individual words but for that you can just as easily use any Na'vi dictionary and get far more reliable accurate results, so uh...yeah seriously, just don't bother with trying to use ChatGPT or other AI for this 😅
#avatar#lì'fya leNa'vi#there are no working Na'vi auto-translators#I repeat: THERE ARE NO WORKING NA'VI AUTO-TRANSLATORS#I 100% promise you any webpage you find claiming to be one is gonna spit out pure nonsense

Just going to address a few of the types of comments I see about AI on tumblr dot com.
I've seen people say that it's useless, because real human emotion is what the world needs now.
I've seen people dismiss it as a fad, cheering for it to crash and burn like bitcoin or NFTs.
And I've seen people passionately discuss how a) AI is using the intellectual property and creative work of human people to learn, without crediting that property, work, or the creators that enable that AI to exist, b) with that knowledge, AI can recreate or replicate the work of human artists, writers, and other content creators, thereby rendering artists/writers/creators without the means by which to earn a living. Many of these passionate (important, true) arguments end with some kind of conclusion like, "This is why AI is evil and no one should ever support it's use."
Let's just talk about the last one first. Importantly, I don't want to minimize or reduce the problems that artists, designers, writers, musicians, etc all face due to AI. It's not just artists. Anyone who creates content and puts it on the internet can have it stolen without credit by AI. AI can take an article written by a journalist, change the words slightly, and generate a fake name and fake photo so that the journalist who wrote the article makes no money while the company with the AI rakes it in. It's a huge problem that is destroying livelihoods as well as avenues of creation, expression, and information-sharing that will only get worse.
But to conclude that AI is therefore evil is kind of like saying social media creates toxic environments and therefore the entire internet is evil. Social media sucks, but I use the internet for keeping in touch with friends and banking and taxes and learning about the world and fandom and watching TV and learning about problems at work as quickly as possible and donating to charities. I mean, like, the internet does kind of suck; enshittification is real, but I think we all understand that the internet can be a useful tool.
Similarly, AI is being used to save lives. It solved the protein-folding problem, which not only saves lives but can help humanity in tons of other ways. It can identify certain signs of cancer more quickly than any human could. And before you say "well it's fine if we're only using it for science," you should know that the identifying cancer thing got discovered because some bakery wanted AI to identify pastries for pricing reasons. AI can process the billions of data that are necessary to consider to mitigate and prevent further climate change; it can help us come up with ideas for how to do so. In a bizarre example, AI can recognize which wood comes from which tree to help authorities discover illegal lumber trafficking which depletes endangered trees and protected forests. AI can help predict and prepare for the next pandemic. AI can explore space. AI can spot fake news.
Vilify certain uses of AI as is just and necessary, but vilifying all of AI just means that fewer people understand what AI can actually do, which means fewer people working to ensure this tool actually works for us rather than against us.
Second, let's just talk about AI as a fad. This idea frankly boggles me. AI is not bitcoin. AI is the internet. It's the computer. It's electricity. It's the compass. It's not just going to change the world, it already has, and it's not going anywhere.
AI is your spam filter. AI is your auto-correct. AI is why you see the ads you do. AI is why you get emails about deals for trips when you've been thinking about making a trip. AI is in your GPS, planning your route. AI is your search engine. I'm not trying to sell these things as positives right now; I'm selling them as realities. AI is not going away because it is already here, you who said you hoped it was like bitcoin are already using it, it's not going away.
AI is going to drive your cars. It's going to design ads specifically targeted to you as an individual. AI is going to be your children's friend and it's going to buy your groceries, and I'm just not sure there's much you can do about that at this point.
But last I want to talk about what the world needs now, because it does need humanity. It needs humanity to understand that the enemy is not AI; the entities that threaten our humanity are not AI entities. The entities that threaten our humanity are the corporations that are currently building AI with corporate interests in mind, with commercial interests in mind.
It might sound like I'm splitting hairs here. Maybe the folks who are so against AI on tumblr dot com are against AI because corporations are developing AI and what they mean when they say that AI is evil is that the current outlook on AI is just not that great because it is not being regulated and studied by enough governments, many of the general populace are either ignoring it or condemning it, and those who are most focused on its development have capitalist agendas that mean AI is going to be a lot worse before it gets better. But somehow, I'm getting the idea that the view on AI is not that nuanced--and it needs to be.
The humanity we need now, imo, is curiosity and ingenuity and passion, and we need that curiosity and ingenuity and passion directed at AI. If we get curious, if we inform ourselves, if we know what it is and what it can be and how to use it, then we can start to make demands of our governments for regulations. We can start to make demands of companies for how this should be used. We can start to incorporate AI into our lives in a way that gives us more time and space for art and creation and writing, not less. If we, as a species, were careful about this, we could use AI to make our world better, not just for humans but for every living thing and so many of the unliving things. We just have to pay attention.
Meanwhile, James Bridle's pointed out in Ways of Being: Animals, Plants, Machines: The Search for a Planetary Intelligence, "We tend to imagine AI as embodied in something like a robot or a computer, but it can really be instantiated as anything. Imagine a system with clearly defined goals, sensors and effectors for reading and interacting with the world, the ability to recognize pleasure and pain as attractors and things to avoid, the resources to carry out its will, and the legal and social standing to see that its needs are catered for, even respected. That's a description of an AI--it's also a description of a modern corporation. For this 'corporate AI,' pleasure is growth and profitability, and pain is lawsuits and drops in shareholder value. Corporate speech is protected, corporate personhood recognized, and corporate desires are given freedom [. . .] Crucially, [corporations] lack empathy, or loyalty, and they are hard--although not impossible--to kill."
Then he quotes Charles Stross, who wrote, "We are now living in a global state that has been structured for the benefit of non-human entities with non-human goals."
We could be treating technology itself not as something humans, in our dominance and supremacy, impose onto our world, but rather as a natural intelligence evolving alongside us. In so doing the focus would not be on creating machines that seek only profit and extraction, but rather make the world a better place. To do that we should be forming relationships with this technology and at the same time, rediscovering our relationships with the world around us. And just like anything the steps to get there are first curiosity, then education, then legislation.
